I was pondering about Barok van Zieks and Albert Harebrayne, and what their first meeting might have looked like.

It all starts when a small explosion goes off in one of the science labs.

Barok happens to passing by on his way to the library, and stops to see if anyone needs help. He finds Albert stumbling out of the door with cracked lenses, missing eyebrows, and singed hair. But he’s also got the biggest grin on his face.

Barok thinks he’s clearly in shock and asks Albert if he’s alright, offering to walk him to the university’s infirmary. Albert assures him that he’s not injured, and casually pulls out a spare pair of glasses he had made for such an occasion. He thanks Barok for being kind enough to stop and check on him, and he introduces himself. Barok does the same and asks what sort of experiment this odd science student was conducting.

Albert takes this as an invitation to explain the details from start to explosive finish.

Barok van Zieks listens and actually understands what Albert Harebrayne was going for, even if he completely missed the mark. He was trying to create what we know as a “flash bang,” but he didn’t have the materials or knowledge to make it work.

“But I’ll have my great breakthrough one day, you’ll see!”

“Of course. It’s clear that your studies mean a lot to you.”

After their first chance encounter, the two of them met up often enough to spark a friendship. And even after their years apart and so many changes, there is no animosity between them.

We started with relatively grounded quirks, but now it's all about who's got the flashiest, most over-the-top abilities. It's like the arms race of quirks, and it's getting a bit hard to keep up with the arms, pun intended.

Also, don't even get me started on the pacing. Sometimes it feels like we're stuck in one place for ages, and then suddenly, we're hit with a whirlwind of action. I could use some consistency, thank you very much

Look, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Mando fandom's dedication to putting its main character in sexy underwear, but let's be real here, Din Djarin is not a man who knows how to keep nice clothes looking nice, or could be bothered to if he did.

This is a man who took one look at a toddler wearing a burlap sack and went "hm, the armour stats on this thing suck, better get the kid some chainmail".

Consider his moth-eaten cape and his collection of 2-3 identical flightsuits that only differ by degrees of washed-out-ness. That is simply not the wardrobe of a man who separates the delicates from the rest of his laundry.

I'm therefore 100% convinced that he would wear lingerie in the most butch bisexual disaster way possible:

Stretched out elastic and ripped seams. Worn thin patches and unravelling lace. Multiple runs up the whole lengths of his stockings.

Suspicious stains that have nothing whatsoever to do with sex and absolutely everything with blaster fire and the blood of his enemies.

Some very neat (if wildly off-colour) stitching on the side of his camisole where a knife went through the underarm gap of his beskar.

A pervasive smell of engine grease, because the rag that he used to mop up an oil spill during his latest emergency repairs also went in the same single batch of laundry as the flightsuits and the silky knickers.

I'm not saying it's not sexy, mind you! It's incredibly sexy. Just in that deeply queer way that makes a lot of people a very twitchy. (As it does whoever bought that lingerie for him. Just for a very different reason.)

Gushing away, don’t mind me—

Okay, gonna ramble about @rowan-of-the-ravenwood’s WillyNillyNonsense art again. I hope these remarks make some sense to y’all, because A A A I’m flying by the seat of my pants with the power of hype.

First things first. We open up with my in-character ask that basically is just “Hey Rowan how’s about you draw my William for fun? (And Glitchtrap… quit hijacking other blogs pls. K thx.)”

Rowan’s first drawing/response is this.

The “camera” cuts over to another character‘s reaction to this rabbit’s little… um… “answer”? And you’d think it’d be me/Humanized Pond Creature because I sent the ask, but no!

It’s William himself— But with new digs! :0 In case you wanted to know about how I reacted (and what WN!William looks like, my style-wise), welllp…

Like… B R U H. If I mastered the art of keyboard smashing, I’d be doing it a whole bunch rn. Will looks so GOOD in this style!! And the expression here is great too!! Really nails the vibe of ”Oh no, my ’Hyde’ has come to play”. (The suit actually helps lol)

Oh yea, speaking of Jekyll and Hyde-energy…

Here he is! Glitchtrap in the same artstyle!! I especially love both the poses lining up with the waving hand. Like that’s the only part of the OC Glitch is controlling before letting go. I can sense Rowan’s OC about to thunk to the floor from that posture alone. And, of course, the expressions are top notch on both.

Finally, free from moving Rowan’s OC about, Glitchtrap meets back up with William. What follows not only sums up their current relationship dynamic in the blog, but also gives off Confrontation from Jekyll and Hyde vibes.

Their outfits kind of match! And Glitchtrap has little ”glitches” indicated by smears! The detail is insane! :0 (Also William looks so done lol. I love it).

TLDR: Rowan not only nailed the characters, but also the creepy FNAF/Jekyll and Hyde vibes… Despite not doing FNAF beforehand apparently. I am smitten with this art piece, send help to me and lots of love to @rowan-of-the-ravenwood/@rowan-ravenwood-art.

I started watching the Inside Job show on Netflix and while I think it’s pretty good, the whole time I’m watching it I’m thinking to myself: “Have we commoditized conspiracy to the point of normalcy, making it no longer the outrageous call-to-arms it was originally intended to be, inadvertently allowing the various secret organizations of the world to continue their hidden agenda effectively in plain sight now?”

But then I think: “Ha ha, moving picture box funny. God bless America and Joe Biden.”

The idea of the Batkids doing normal people things while suited up is hilarious to me, you know, like Red Robin and Spoiler making the 9 o'clock news while racing through a grocery store because they totally forgot to get the things Alfred asked them to bring for the family dinner. Or Damian and Dick swinging into the Bludhaven Zoo mid-patrol because Dami really wanted to see the new baby tiger. Red Hood buying lemonade from a kid's stand and then standing there awkwardly messing with his helmet, trying not to hurt the kid's feelings. Black Bat, on a particularly tiring day randomly appeared in the nosebleeds of the ballet hall and started sniping phones out of people's hands. Or Signal and a deeply irritated Batman changing out a blown-out tyre in some back alley, earning amused looks.
