I love the Oracle games tbh, after playing them and beating both they very quickly became my favorites in the series. Prob top 5 at last. (Well, ages is top 5, seasons is top 10)

Someone is also working on a Secrets fan game, so I'll probably talk about that later.

It’s 2 AM and I've been playing Oracle of Ages a lot

You know, when people talk about The Legend of Zelda: The Mystical Seed of Courage, they say it was “canceled” in the sense of it being some kind of "lost game." But... I'm fairly confident that any completed work and/or concepts were either folded into the two existing Oracle games where possible, or were used as a basis for Capcom's next Zelda game, Minish Cap.

Heck, look at the map of Hyrule in Minish Cap. It doesn't resemble "Hyrule" at all and is more in line with something like Labrynna or Holodrum. To me, this just screams “they had a map sketched out & planned for TMSoC and didn’t wanna scrap all that work.” Obviously they couldn’t reuse any of the actually-programmed stuff, but any development materials could’ve been used as reference...

And if this map was originally planned as a GBC map, I could totally see locations that don’t have a dungeon in the final game having dungeons in the original TMSoC plans, such as the Graveyard area (and it would also explain there being a whole extra filler dungeon in the ruins south of the Tabantha Wilderness).

IDK, maybe I’m chasing shadows here, but I think at least some of the development material from the canceled 3rd Oracle game was used as inspiration for TMC.

Batkids Secret Santa

I picked the character combinations with an online wheel.

Dick gets Stephanie a charm bracelet with a robin bird charm and a bat charm on it.

Jason opens up a library in Barbara's name.

Tim gets Jason a new, specifically less breakable, helmet/muzzle. Inside is a note that reads "see, told you I'll always be there for you."

Cass gets Damian a martial arts obstacle course. They compete against each other on it.

Duke gets Dick headphones that won't fall out while he's doing acrobatics.

Damian gives Duke a manga story he wrote and illustrated. The story stars his self insert "Damian Vane" and a character based on Duke. The character is knight themed as reference to Signal's name origin.

Barbara gets Tim a custom computer watch.

Steph gets Cass tickets to the gotham ballet.

Fun fact, a batfam secret Santa is actually canon. It's in Nightwing's Batman Urban Legends story, written by Tini Howard and collected in Nightwing: Fear State.

Jason wasn't part of it but I decided to include him anyway. One, I love him. Two, I could genuinely see him partaking after the character development he's been getting lately.

Shoutout to anyone who can name all the comics I reference in this post.

Barbara: *furious* You two are insane. You’re treating morally ambiguous like it’s a fun new hobby. He practically engineered an escape from a high-security prison by tricking the entire staff into thinking it was game night. In addition, he orchestrated a city-wide blackout just to steal classified documents, and you’re calling it genius?

Bruce: Very resourceful.

Tim: I mean... it’s not his fault they didn’t know how to play Dungeons & Dragons. Also, I want to see who else could pull off a high-profile heist while simultaneously launching a PR campaign for a new tech startup!

Bruce: *to Tim* Wayne Enterprise's tech gadgets cleared the shelves, we need to speed up production.

Tim: Already on it.

Barbara: You’re defending this? That’s not genius, that’s a psychotic breakdown wrapped in a cape! It's madness layered up in a three-piece suit!

Bruce and Tim: It’s Dick.

Barbara: I swear, if it was anyone else, you’d be throwing them in a cell for years.

Bruce and Tim: It’s Nightwing. He has plausible deniability.

i’m not a big fan of the double life thing with superheroes because it just stresses me out too much when they almost miss some big event of their civilian life bcs they had to save people etc etc and are trying to protect their secret identity.

but i feel like the batfamily is just one giant loophole because they’re billionaires. they can do whatever they want. they don’t need a dayjob and most of their acquaintances are also vigilantes and superheroes anyways. they all have the same lifestyle and its so chill.

No hate to anyone who ships DickBabs, but I just can never get behind it, and no, it's not because I enjoy the pairings of DickKory and DinahBabs (I am a multishipper at heart). I think one of the reasons why I just don't like DickBabs is because of the way that some writers will warp both of their characters.

Batman: Gotham City Secret Files And Origins (2000) #1

Barbara is definitely someone who can overstep boundaries, but considering she got so angry at Bruce for spying on her, I just feel like it doesn't really make sense for to put cameras in Dick's apartment without his knowledge. To my knowledge, this has never been brought up in comics again, but I guarantee that Dick would not be happy if he found out because he's a guy who values respect and privacy. Also, if this was a guy spying on a girl, people would have more of a problem because it would be acknowledged as messed up.

Birds Of Prey (1999) #19

Dick is someone who has been jealous on some occasions in his canon relationships, but the fact that he's written to get jealous over Ted and Barbara being friends, despite never having seen them interact or having met Ted is just not good writing to me. Yeah, I know that characterizations shift with comics, but it feels so wrong for his character and disgusting for him to have a problem with Barbara being friends with a man.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about the Batfam wearing the others merch recently

So I would like to add for consideration- the ultimate act of acknowledgment from Tim is him adding a sticker of your hero identity on his skateboard (list based roughly in the order he would have met them)

Prior to becoming Robin his skateboard only had stickers of the Batman, Nightwing, Robin, & Batgirl symbols (either NW Dick + R Jason or both for Dick idk if he would but you can’t tell me Dick’s biggest fan wouldn’t have at least consider it lol)

Then he becomes Robin and he slowly starts adding on to it

Oracle & Huntress get stickers added on super quick after their introductions though at the time he might have needed to custom make Oracle’s- maybe Huntress’s as well?

Spoiler hit him in the face with a brick when they first meet so even though he forgave her pretty quick it still takes him a moment to make/add her sticker on. (How long do vigilantes need to be on the scene before people start making merch, do y’all think?)

Impluse gets added on pretty quickly after Tim meets him. Superboy gets added on a while after their meeting because the two annoyed the HECK out of each other when they first met and Tim’s petty like that.

Tim was a bit suspicious when he first met Cass but AS SOON AS he gets over it he’s adding on a sticker. Like immediately.

While he meet Secret before the rest of YJ I’m not sure those meetings would have led him to making a sticker for her but once she joins the team I think he would.

Wonder Girl, Arrowette, & Empress like Impluse, gets their stickers added on pretty soon on after he meets them.

He later makes a custom one for Slobo.

Ray gets one too but not as quickly as the others & both Ray & Slobo get one quicker than Superboy did, relatively. It makes Superboy fume a bit lol in a way he didn’t with the girls lol.

Every time Red Hood is close to get his sticker added he does something that pushes the time table back lol. Sometimes Jason tried adding his own sticker but the skateboard is never where he can find it when he tries.

He added one for Batwoman, BlueBird, & The Question (Reene) because he thinks they’re cool (+ without even realizing that he also felt a communal pull to do so)

It took a bit of time after the whole “I left Gotham in search of Bruce who was lost in the time-stream” thing for things with Damian to settle. Tim added his Robin randomly without any fanfare and Damian pretended he doesn’t care (but he does obnoxiously brag about it when annoyed by Jason to bother him in return)

Tim was MIA & considered dead when Duke became Signal (if I’m recalling correctly) but Dick tells him about The Skateboard and when Tim comes back Dukes already ready and hands him a Signal symbol sticker. Tim is amused and immediately puts it on. Jason is frustrated.

When he starts working with Sparrow he makes one for her.

Also every time Nightwing changes his suit, a new sticker gets added on which makes everyone complain and say they should get more than one sticker if they’ve had more than one suit/super identity.

Tim responds by adding more Nightwing stickers
