Headcannon that Bruce dedicates a little area on a wall in the manor to hanging photos of all his kids and their achievements- except, just like an overachiever new mom who insists she’ll make a detailed scrap book for each kid- he looses momentum after the first kid or two.
Which means there’s a huge section dedicated to Dick and all his minor accomplishments over the years, followed by one or two photos of Jason, followed by two large blank spaces on the wall (Tim and Cass)
He doesn’t let Alfred finish hanging things because he SWEARS he will get around to it. And maybe he will. Eventually…
But in the meantime it’s stuck looking like he has clear favorites, especially since Damian gets into the habit of hanging up pictures of himself on the other end of the wall (he cannot allow the non-blood children of Bruce Wayne to surpass him in recognition in his own home)
Tim doesn’t really notice since his own home didn’t have too many pictures of him. Cass doesn’t mind since she doesn’t always like seeing her own likeness. Jason thinks it’s hilarious to bitch about every time he sees it, claiming that Bruce didn’t even care enough after he’d died to at least hang up an updated school photo for him.
And of course everyone loves to tease Dick over it, given just how many photos and newspaper clippings adorn his section of the wall. Not that Dick is ever affected by any of their teasing- after all, who wouldn’t want their old school photos displayed proudly on the walls?? He doesn’t understand the embarrassment

✧ the elle woods study method: mindset makeover & foundation building ✧

hey lovelies! 💗
omg, i'm literally bursting with excitement to start this transformative series with you all! we're going to dive deep into actually studying like elle woods, and all her study methods. it's going to change your academic life. (while keeping you fabulous, obviously!)
let's start with the most crucial element - the elle woods mindset. you know how elle went from being underestimated at harvard to graduating with honors? that transformation began in her mind, and that's exactly where we're starting too!
the core principles of the elle woods mindset (get ready to take notes!):
unwavering self-belief: elle's iconic "what, like it's hard?" attitude wasn't just cute - it was crucial
authenticity as your superpower: your unique perspective is your strength
resilience through positivity: turning every "you can't" into "watch me"
strategic determination: working smarter, not just harder
maintaining your essence: success shouldn't mean losing yourself
let me break down how to actually build this mindset (because theory without practice is like a perfect outfit without accessories - incomplete!):
mindset foundation building: • start a daily confidence journal (pink, obviously!) • write three daily affirmations • document your wins, no matter how small • reflect on challenges and how you overcame them
goal setting the elle way: • dream big (harvard law big!) • break down major goals into mini-milestones • create realistic timelines • identify potential obstacles and plan solutions • celebrate every achievement (even the tiny ones!)
your personal success toolkit: • a dedicated study planner (color-coded, elle would approve) • positive affirmation cards • vision board (mix academic and personal goals) • progress tracking system • reward system for reaching milestones
practical assignments for this week:
yes, i'm giving you all homework, because what's a lesson without doing homework? <3
mindset makeover tasks: • create your confidence corner (a designated study space that makes you feel powerful) • write your personal academic manifesto • identify and challenge three limiting beliefs • create a morning power routine
organization prep: • get your study essentials (cute but functional!) • set up your planning system • create a semester overview • design your ideal weekly schedule
community building: • find your study buddies (your personal warner hunting club, but for academics!) • join study groups • set up accountability partnerships • create a support system
elle's journey wasn't about memorizing legal terms - it was about believing she belonged in those hallowed halls while wearing her signature pink. you deserve to feel that same confidence in your academic journey. <3
advanced tips for the overachievers (because why not be extra?):
record yourself giving pep talks for tough days
create a study aesthetic that energizes you
develop personal success rituals
build a playlist that makes you feel powerful
photograph your progress for motivation
coming up in this series:
time management secrets
memory techniques that actually work
note-taking methods that slay
exam preparation strategies
self-care routines for academic success
group study dynamics
presentation skills
stress management
celebration strategies
and more of course <3
remember: elle woods didn't just survive harvard - she thrived while being unapologetically herself. that's our goal too! you're not just going to study better; you're going to build an academic approach that celebrates who you are.
homework time (but make it fun):
create your academic vision board
write your semester goals
design your ideal study schedule
set up your success tracking system
prepare your study space
xoxo, mindy
p.s. don't forget to reblog and follow for the complete series! we're building our own little academic sorority here! <3

choose an image, get a message on what you need to know right now
1. 2. 3.

These messages are noted over imagery shuffling on pinterest because I wanted to try something new. I love divination in any way so I’d love to start experimenting with different ways and tools to practice it, so here I am!
so, it is important for me if you tell me if it works and it resonated with you, because I also used my intuition, I’m still learning.
thank you! 🦉
———————————————————————
Pile 1:
I want to remind you that finding a hobby and diving deeper into studying the laws of the universe will pay off in ways you can’t fully comprehend yet, your future self will thank you for it because the more you explore and learn the more you’ll grow into the person you’re meant to be (aka who you WANT to be).
the universe encourages you to start believing in people again despite everything you’ve been through, people can surprise you and there’s still good in the world, even if it’s hard to see sometimes, just trust the process and rebuild your faith even if it’s slowly step by step.
finally focus on building consistency while still having fun, because life isn’t just about the grind, it’s about enjoying the journey, learning, and embracing who you’re becoming, so shift your identity to align with your dreams and remember that it’s okay to evolve along the way.
if you care about what you do, keep doing it.
some other short and specific messages for a few of you who will know:
do you have a cat? I see lots of related imagery, so take care and give all of your love to them (this goes for other pets too though!)
feeling like a bird in a cage? know that it’s open, you’re just blinded by your limiting beliefs, so work on that “why are you still here? fly away now”.
are you in a band or want to be a musician? (maybe you play electric guitar, bass or piano) you’re definitely on the right path but you have to practice more and be truly dedicated to it.
———————————————————————
Pile 2:
it’s time to start focusing on finding your ideal daily routine, I know some of you hate those organising tasks BUT trust, find one that works specifically for you, cause it’s not about following someone elses blueprint but about discovering what helps you feel energized, productive and at peace, so experiment with different habits until you find your flow and remember that it’s all about consistency.
also, it’s important to work on socializing more, especially with people who can support and uplift you, some of you shouldn’t shy away from building healthier relationships with men (even tho I understand). sometimes healing and growth take time but your mindset will make all the difference.
believe in the impossible/unrealistic because you truly can achieve anything if you put in the discipline, trust that your efforts will lead you to places you never imagined, and never doubt your ability to create the life you want.
some other short and specific messages for a few of you who will know:
are you struggling with intrusive thoughts? I see you waking up in the morning with your cup of tea/coffee and getting flooded already with those, and this is your reminder that those are just thoughts and they’re not you, you’re not them
some of you really want to travel the world, I see you, and you should never decline this dream, take your stuff and go, find some friends who want to go along the way with you if you want but alone is so valid (just be safe please)
some of you I sense that are overachieving or have great dreams but feel in a slump from time to time, just remember why you started, oh and you’re so smart I promise you
———————————————————————
Pile 3:
I want you to remember that the only opinion that truly matters is your own so don’t waste energy worrying about what others think of you, “there’s no audience to perform for, just you” so focus on your own journey and growth.
take time to work on your wisdom, dive into spiritual books, explore new ideas and build a stronger soul, cause the more you nourish your inner self the more resilient and centered you’ll become.
NEVER settle for less than what you deserve, it’s all destined to happen if you truly choose it, so trust your choices, stay aligned with your vision, and believe that the best is yet to come.
some other short and specific messages for a few of you who will know:
you should give witchcraft a try (if you already practice then go on, make a spell!), learn deeply about protection first thing and then study the rest, and use it to reach your goals (this is a big topic so I won’t focus on it on this post, but I might make a series if any of you is interested, just let me know)
do you have libra placements? (specifically in your moon?) this reading was for you, I sense your beauty and desires to build your life from here lol, you have my respect
sometimes you forget about how EASY and SIMPLE manifestation/shifting is, so I’m here to remind you: 1. decide 2. done

⊹₊⟡⋆ The Bet ⊹₊⟡⋆
Ryomen Sukuna x Female Reader x Gojo Satoru

⊹₊⟡⋆ Masterlist ⊹₊⟡⋆
Warnings: Suggestive content.
Chapter 01
You’ve always known your place in the world.
The quiet one. The overachiever. The nerd. Your identity is a sum of academic accolades, a steady stream of perfect grades, and the quiet approval of teachers and professors. They praise your dedication, your punctuality, and your sharp mind. Students tolerate you. You’re useful when group projects roll around or when someone needs last-minute homework answers. Beyond that, they keep their distance.
You don’t blame them. Socially, you’ve always been… lacking. You’re an introvert through and through. Conversation is a hurdle, and parties make you feel like a fish flopping on dry land. But the truth is, you’ve made peace with your solitude. Better to exist on the sidelines than risk rejection by stepping into the spotlight.
It’s a routine you’ve mastered. That is, until Ryomen Sukuna walks by.
You’re moving through the bustling college hallway, textbook clutched tightly to your chest, when the loud voices of the football team cut through the air like static. You don’t have to look to know who they are. The athletes. The popular ones. The untouchables.
But there’s one voice that stands out above the rest, one figure who naturally commands attention.
Sukuna.
The moment you see him, your stomach twists in a way you hate. He’s impossibly good-looking, with sharp features, smoldering eyes, and a smirk that seems permanently etched onto his face. His confidence radiates off him like heat. Girls adore him. Professors cut him slack they wouldn’t dream of giving anyone else. Even guys can’t seem to hate him, not entirely.
He’s everything you’re not. Charismatic, magnetic, popular. And the worst part? He knows it.
You grit your teeth and keep walking, eyes fixed on the linoleum floor. You’ve spent years trying to squash the stupid crush that sprouted in high school, but it lingers like an old scar, refusing to fade. You hate how your heart skips whenever you see him, hate the way your palms grow clammy at the sound of his voice.
Because guys like Sukuna don’t notice girls like you.
The bell rings, slicing through the chaos of the hallway. You quicken your pace, weaving through the thinning crowd until you reach your finance class. It’s your sanctuary. Numbers make sense to you. Spreadsheets and formulas are puzzles you can solve, a language you speak fluently.
You settle into your usual seat—second row, third desk from the left—and arrange your notebook and pens in neat order. The classroom fills up slowly, the buzz of conversation a low hum in the background.
Dr. Aramaki strides in moments later, his presence commanding as he sets his leather briefcase on the desk. He’s a seasoned professor, his gray hair and sharp eyes giving him an air of authority. He launches into the lecture without preamble, writing “Investment Risk Management” on the board in neat, precise handwriting.
You’re already scribbling notes when the door creaks open.
“Sorry, prof. Practice ran late.”
The voice sends a jolt down your spine.
Ryomen Sukuna saunters in, his duffle bag slung lazily over one shoulder. His damp hair glints under the fluorescent lights, and the faint scent of cedar and mint wafts your way as he passes by.
Dr. Aramaki doesn’t even flinch. “Take a seat, Sukuna. And next time, try to be on time.”
Sukuna grins, unbothered, and scans the room. To your horror, his gaze lands on the empty desk behind you.
He sinks into the chair, the legs screeching against the tile. Your heart pounds as his presence settles behind you, a tangible weight.
You try to focus on the lecture, but every movement he makes—every creak of his chair, every muttered comment to the guy beside him—distracts you. You feel his eyes on the back of your head more than once, and it takes everything in you not to turn around.
Then, a light tap on your shoulder.
You freeze.
Slowly, you glance back. Sukuna is leaning forward, his notebook blank in front of him, a pen dangling loosely from his fingers. He flashes you a grin, all teeth and effortless charm.
“Hey,” he whispers, his voice low enough that only you can hear. “What page are we on?”
Your brain stutters. For a second, you forget how words work.
“Uh…” You clear your throat, forcing yourself to meet his gaze. His eyes are brighter up close, twin embers smoldering with something unreadable. “Page eighty-four.”
“Thanks.”
He smirks again, and you whip back around before he can say anything else, your cheeks burning.
The class feels like it’s dragging, and for once, your meticulous note-taking has been replaced by idle doodling. Your pen sketches swirling patterns along the edges of your notebook, a habit you’ve developed over the years to keep your nerves at bay.
Dr. Aramaki finishes a particularly dry explanation on risk assessment, then clears his throat, his voice cutting through the hum of the lecture hall.
“Alright, everyone. Listen up,” he says, taking a clipboard from his desk. “For this project, you’ll be working in pairs.”
Excited whispers ripple through the room as students glance around, already scouting for partners. Your shoulders relax slightly. People rarely rush to partner with you, so you’ve resigned yourself to whoever’s left.
“Don’t bother,” Dr. Aramaki announces, raising a hand to silence the room. “I’ve already assigned the pairs.”
The collective groan that follows is almost comedic.
You, however, are relieved. Group projects always devolve into awkward negotiations, and you’d rather avoid the hassle. At least this way, you can stay in your lane.
Dr. Aramaki begins reading off the list, his tone matter-of-fact.
“Gojo and Nanami.”
You hear Gojo’s delighted laugh and Nanami’s deep sigh of resignation. It doesn’t take a genius to guess how that partnership will go.
“Geto and Kawahara.”
The list continues, and you focus on your doodles, trying not to overthink. Whoever you’re paired with can’t possibly be worse than—
“Y/L/N and Sukuna.”
The words hit you like a slap.
You freeze, your pen hovering mid-air.
This can’t be happening.
“Keep in mind that this project is for the end of semester and it’s 80% of your grade.” Dr. Aramaki emphasized.
Your heart sinks as your mind scrambles for an explanation, a way out, something. But no. Dr. Aramaki has already moved on, and Sukuna, seated behind you, doesn’t even flinch.
The rest of class is a blur. You force yourself to act normal, though your hand trembles slightly as you scribble in your notebook. Doodles multiply along the margins, aimless swirls and stars filling every blank space.
When the bell rings, signaling the end of the lecture, you’re the first to start packing up. Your goal is simple: leave before Sukuna says anything.
But, of course, the universe isn’t that kind.
A light tap on your shoulder stops you in your tracks.
You turn to find Sukuna standing there, his duffle bag slung over his shoulder, his expression unreadable. He looks you up and down, his gaze lingering a second too long, and then he says the words that make your brain short-circuit:
“Are you Y/L/N?”
Your jaw tightens. You stare at him, utterly dumbfounded.
How does he not know you? You’ve known him since middle school, sat in the same classrooms, attended the same schook events. It’s impossible to miss someone like Sukuna. Yet, here he is, looking at you like you’re a stranger.
“Yes,” you say flatly, trying to keep the irritation out of your voice.
“Cool.” He nods, completely unbothered. “Give me your number so we can figure this project out.”
The request is simple, but your brain struggles to process it. For a moment, you consider asking if he’s serious—if he really doesn’t recognize you—but you stop yourself. What’s the point?
Wordlessly, you pull out your phone, avoiding his gaze as you hand it over. His fingers brush against yours briefly as he takes it, and even that small contact sends a jolt through you.
Sukuna types in his number, then hands the phone back. “There. Just text me or whatever.”
“Okay,” you manage, still feeling like you’re caught in some bizarre dream.
“Thanks.” He slings his bag over his shoulder again, turning toward the door. “See you around or something.”
And just like that, he’s gone.
The interaction lasts less than a minute, but it leaves your pulse racing like you’ve run a marathon. You glance down at your phone, where his name now sits in your contacts list, and something twists in your chest.
You tell yourself it’s just nerves, nothing more. He’s just your project partner.
But deep down, you know that’s a lie.
Sukuna stepped out of the classroom, his expression as unreadable as ever. The hall buzzed with activity, students heading to their next classes or hanging out by the lockers. His eyes landed on his teammates near the far end of the hallway, bickering as usual. He sighed, making his way over, already sensing trouble brewing.
He reached his locker, tossing his duffle bag inside, and glanced sideways at the chaos unfolding next to him. Nanami stood stiffly, his arms crossed like a parent scolding a child, while Gojo leaned casually against a locker, a picture of indifference.
“I’m telling you, Gojo,” Nanami says, his tone tight with frustration, “you need to step up and actually contribute this time. I’m not doing the entire project alone again.”
Gojo leans casually against the lockers, sipping a drink with an infuriating grin. “Relax, Nanami. I bring more to the table than you think.”
“Oh yeah? Like what?” Nanami snaps.
“Uh…” Gojo says as he thinks.
Nanami glares. “How about actual work?”
Nanami’s glare darkened, but before he could retort, Gojo glanced at his watch and straightened. “Oh, shoot! Gotta go! My Spanish exam starts in five minutes.”
Nanami raised an eyebrow. “You studied for it, right?”
“Si,” Gojo said confidently, giving him a thumbs-up.
Nanami sighed. “¿Eres idiota?”
Gojo paused, tilting his head in confusion. “Uh… biblioteca?”
Nanami groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose as Sukuna chuckled under his breath. Gojo, completely unbothered, threw up a peace sign and sauntered down the hall, leaving chaos in his wake.
“God help him,” Nanami muttered, shaking his head.
Sukuna smirked. “What’s he even doing in Spanish class?”
“Who knows?” Nanami replied.
The two stood in silence for a moment before Nanami turned to Sukuna, his usual frown softening slightly. “So, who’d you get paired with for the project?”
“The nerd,” Sukuna said flatly, rummaging through his locker.
Nanami raised an eyebrow. “Y/L/N?”
Sukuna glanced at him, closing the locker door. “Yeah. You know her?”
Nanami stared at him like he’d asked if water was wet. “Seriously? She’s been in our classes since middle school.”
Sukuna shrugged, unbothered. “Don’t remember.”
Nanami shook his head. “Of course, you don’t.”
Sukuna leaned back against the lockers, arms crossed. “What’s the deal with her? She some kind of overachiever or something?”
Nanami rolled his eyes. “That’s an understatement. She’s the reason the grading curve exists. You’re lucky to have her as a partner. She’s a workhorse. Unlike me, who’s stuck with…” He grimaced. “…someone who thinks ‘Google Docs’ is a streaming service.”
Sukuna chuckled. “Tough break.”
“Tell me about it.” Nanami smirked faintly before glancing at Sukuna. “You wanna switch?”
Before Sukuna could respond, a voice cut in, sharp and amused. “Switch? Nah, Sukuna’s not switching.”
The two turned to see Mahito sauntering up, his signature grin plastered on his face. Behind him was Jogo, his presence as calm and collected as Mahito’s was chaotic.
Mahito leaned lazily against the lockers, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Sukuna doesn’t need to switch. He’s got a system, right?”
Sukuna raised an eyebrow. “What system?”
“You know,” Mahito said, smirking wider. “Your whole thing. Flirt with your group partner, flash that charming smile, get into her pants, and voilà—she does all the work for you.”
Nanami sighed heavily, his disapproval radiating off him. “Doubt is working with this one.”
Mahito turned to him, mock surprise on his face. “Why not? It’s worked on every other girl.”
“Because she’s different,” Nanami replied simply.
“Different?” Sukuna repeated, his voice sharp with irritation. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Nanami met his gaze steadily. “It means she actually takes her work seriously. She’s strict, focused, and won’t put up with your nonsense. And, quite frankly, you’re not on the same level… socially.”
The words hit like a bomb.
“Damn, Nanami!” Mahito howled, clutching his stomach. “Straight for the throat!”
Jogo chuckled quietly, shaking his head.
“Not on the same level?” one of the other guys echoed mockingly.
“Different social levels! Down bad, Sukuna!”
“Boo! Sukuna, you’re slipping!”
Sukuna clenched his jaw, his irritation simmering beneath the surface. His glare swept over the group, but Mahito wasn’t done yet.
“You know what?” Mahito said, his grin turning cruel. “I bet you won’t even make it through the project without her tearing you a new one. Forget hooking up with her. She’s out of your league.”
Jogo smirked, arms crossed. “I’ll take that bet. $100 says he can’t.”
The hallway erupted in laughter and jeers as Sukuna’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“Shut up,” he snapped, slamming his locker shut with a little more force than necessary.
Jogo raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “What’s the matter, Sukuna? Afraid you can’t pull it off?”
Sukuna turned to him, his smirk dark and sharp. “Fine. You’re on. But when I win, I don’t want excuses.”
Nanami groaned audibly. “This is a terrible idea.”
“An amazing idea,” Mahito corrected, grinning from ear to ear.
As Mahito finished his jab, his laughter echoing in the hallway, the sharp sound of someone clearing their throat cut through the noise. The group turned as one to see Geto standing there, his imposing figure leaning casually against the wall. His dark eyes swept over them, calm yet commanding.
“What’s going on?” Geto asked, his tone even but edged with authority. His confusion was evident, though his calm demeanor gave nothing away.
The air shifted immediately. The teasing and laughter died down as everyone averted their gaze, falling into an awkward silence. No one dared to speak up, suddenly reminded of their captain’s presence.
Nanami, who seemed completely over the entire ordeal, sighed heavily. “They’re children,” he said flatly, brushing past Geto without so much as a second glance. “I have better things to do.” With that, he strode off toward his next class, leaving the rest of the group frozen.
Geto tilted his head slightly, watching Nanami’s retreating figure before turning his attention back to the remaining guys.
Mahito gave a half-hearted shrug, but even he didn’t have the nerve to add anything under Geto’s scrutiny.
Geto straightened up and addressed the group. “Practice is at 7 p.m. sharp. No excuses. Don’t make me hunt any of you down.” His gaze lingered on Mahito and a couple of others, making them shuffle uncomfortably.
Finally, his attention landed squarely on Sukuna. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he stepped closer, his presence radiating authority. “And you,” he said, his voice dropping slightly, “don’t be late. Last time was strike one. You’re not getting a strike two.”
He didn’t wait for Sukuna to respond, deliberately brushing his shoulder against Sukuna’s as he passed by.
Sukuna stood still for a moment, his jaw tightening as he watched Geto walk away. The guys around him stayed quiet, their eyes darting between Sukuna and the captain. Sukuna could feel the tension lingering in the air, but he refused to let it show.
“Who does he think he is?” Sukuna muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes.
Mahito smirked, but the others stayed silent, knowing better than to stoke Sukuna’s temper further.
Sukuna’s fingers curled into fists for a moment before he relaxed, shoving his hands into his pockets. He couldn’t wait for the day he became captain—when he’d finally put Geto in his place.
“Practice at seven,” Geto’s voice echoed from down the hall, as if to punctuate the moment.
Sukuna scoffed, slamming his locker a clang.

So the thing about Tak’s Holo-Disguise is that it specifically might not be an example of Tak using more advanced technology than Zim.
The implication in “The Nightmare Begins” is that Zim maybe also have access to Perfectly Realistic Human Disguises, probably similar to Tak’s Hologram - but he intentionally rejected them because he saw them as too ugly. He deliberately chose his shitty little costume because he thought that was the only one that looked ‘good’.
And these terrible disguises are also pretty consistent with how the actual official Invaders disguise themselves. If anything, Zim’s got the best costume of the lot!
So with Zim dismissing the more realistic disguises as being ‘ugly’ and ‘stinky’ and those being… basically the most common insults he throws at humans. ..I think the implication here is pretty clearly that Zim’s (and the actual Irken Invaders’) disguises are bad because he doesn’t want to look too human because Irken Imperial Indoctrination has taught him every other species in the universe is revolting and so he cannot stand the idea of looking too match like the people he is trying to infiltrate.
So it is interesting that the one Irken who actually uses their advanced technology to actually look like another species is Tak. Maybe she’s just being a bit of a show-off overachiever. So driven by the need to prove how competent of an Invader she can be she decided to suffer through the indignity of Using a Competent Disguise.
Or maybe there’s sort of an implication that Tak doesn’t really buy into Irken Ideology that much?
Like, obviously, she’s not, like, some sort of anti-Imperial pro-alien advocate or anything. She’s still trying to gain the respect of the Tallest, she still wants to become an Invader, she is still willing to sacrifice an entire planet in order to achieve her goals.
I’m thinking more, like, Zim is 100% a true believer in Irken Imperial Ideology. He wants to be an Invader at least in part so he could use his ‘amazingness’ to contribute to the conquests of the Irken Empire. And he legitimately believes the Tallests are superior beings worthy of his admiration. And he legitimately believes Irkens are superior to all other sapient beings in the universe in general and to humans especially.
Meanwhile, Tak’s main goals might just be to gain as much power and prestige as she can - no matter what or who stands in her way. If she lived in a society that valued dentists above all she would’ve become a dentist. But she was born in the Irken Empire, and the most prestigious not-height-dependent position available to her in Irken Society is the one of an Invader, so that’s what she dedicated her life to. Not out of any ideological commitment to help the Empire's conquests.
She tries to gain the Tallests’ favor because she knows she needs them to get ahead in life, not necessarily because she craves their tall, superior approval the way Zim does. She can kill a lot of non-Irkens on her way to ‘greatness’, but it’s more of a general callousness towards other people - rather than loyalty to the superiority of the Irken people.
That might also explain why she’s the one Irken with the sense of individuality to customize her uniform
And design her own version of the Irken Empire Flag, based on her own look.
Because maybe she’s not trying to serve the Irken Empire, maybe she’s just trying to serve Tak.

I feel like a lot of people don’t get that lae’zel is an overachiever teacher’s pet style person but what she was being taught was combat and bloodshed. She says she was “as dedicated to her studies as to her training.” That’s why she has such pleasant banter with Gale, because they’re both nerds.

the show establishes that innies and outies are full individual people but sometimes i see people talking like they're SO different and like. they ARE the same person. that's a crucial part of the commentary about identity & work. a grieving alcoholic goes into work and seems completely fine, jokes around with coworkers, only occasionally shows signs of a hangover or of emotional pain. someone who's struggled to hold down a job and needs to support a family goes into work and is a super dedicated overachieving employee. someone who has anti-corporate politics and eclectic creative interests goes into work and is quiet and rule-following, afraid to be exposed as someone non-conforming. and someone privileged who works a normal oppressive job for the first time throws a fit

But Daddy I Love Him!: A Disney Princess Legacy Challenge
I didn't really like any version of the Disney Princess Legacy so I decided to do one myself! I tried not to repeat traits, skills... But sometimes I couldn't figure out, sorry! I also included a color scheme based on the princess. You have to complete the aspiration, career and max the skills, unless stated otherwise. I also included some extra goals!
It's not playtested, so I might make changes as I play. I have an edited lifespan that makes Young Adulthood and Adulthood a little bit longer, but Teenagehood and Childhood shorter. My guess is that you could finish the challenge in normal lifespan, but you also can do it in long or with a custom lifespan, or even turn aging off if you want to! Whatever you want to do!
Also, I had to be quite... Creative in some of the princess descriptions, because their personalities are very similar.
Also, there's not really any general rules. Your heir can be any gender you want (Everyone can be a princess!), if you want to cheat, cheat, if you wanna change something, change it!
Generation 1. Snow White 🍎
Packs: Cottage Living, Parenthood
Running away from a terrible family, you find yourself in a tiny cottage in the middle of nowhere. You dedicate yourself to keep it clean and make it a home. A hopeless romantic, you dream of finding your true love and form a beautiful family.

Aspiration: Soulmate
Career: Stay-at-Home Parent
Skills: Cooking, Parenting, Cross-Stitching
Colors: Red, Blue and Yellow

Marry your first love and stay with them all your life. Don’t woohoo before marriage
Befriend wild animals (bunnies, birds, foxes)
Have three children
Grow an apple tree of magnificent quality in your backyard
Generation 2. Cinderella 👠
Packs: High School Years, Cats and Dogs, My First Pet Stuff
Your parent instill in you the importance of being a hard-worker, but you can’t help but wish for a better life! As a young adult, you move to your own place and start working in the world of fashion.

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Career: Style Influencer

Generation 3. Aurora 🛏️

Unlike your parent, you don't even have to move a finger to get what you want. Born and raised in a wealthy family, you might be getting a little spoiled. Your parents will have nothing to say in the matter.
Traits: Self-Absorbed, Hot-Headed, Party Animal
Aspiration: World Famous Celebrity
Career: Actor/Actress

2025 : #19 The Power of Working in Private

I will share a story that truly changed the way I look at success and failure. It’s about a friend of mine, let’s call her x and another one Y
✒️..X was everything you’d expect an overachiever to be . She constantly let everyone know how hard she was working, reminding us all that she was aiming for the highest grades. Every day, she posted pictures of her meticulously organized study materials, shared her "I’m working so hard" In a way, X seemed unstoppable. It was like she had everything figured out. The grind was her identity, and the world knew about it.
But X failed the semester. She didn’t just fall behind she FAILED.
The entire class was shocked. How could someone who seemed to work harder than anyone else not succeed?
X had become obsessed with showing everyone how hard she was working. She posted about it, talked about it, and craved validation for her effort. But the problem She wasn’t actually working the way she needed to. She wasn’t putting in the deep, focused work required for success. She was more concerned about the image of success than the substance.
Meanwhile, there was another student in our class, Y , who worked completely differently. Y didn’t post her study sessions or boast about her goals. In fact, she didn’t announce anything. She just worked quietly focusing solely on understanding the material, practicing, and improving herself without needing validation from anyone. She was low-key, but laser-focused.
When the final grades came in, Y had one of the highest scores in the class.
But Y wasn’t shocked at all. She knew her work had paid off.
And X was devastated, realizing too late that she had spent so much time proving her dedication that she never actually developed the skills she needed to succeed.
Why Do We Seek Validation Instead of Success?
X story is one that many of us can relate to. It’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to be seen as hardworking, of craving external validation that we’re doing the right thing.Validation feels like progress, but it’s not. When you tell someone, “I studied for five hours last night,” and they reply with, “Wow, that’s impressive!” your brain gets a little dopamine boost. You feel good, but u haven’t actually learned anything. You haven’t actually moved the NEEDLE .
This is why so many of us whether in school, work, or life struggle to turn effort into results. We get caught up in the appearance of progress rather than focusing on real, tangible improvement.
In the age of social media and constant updates, it’s easy to feel like you’re making progress just by sharing how much you’re working. But deep down, you know that real success doesn’t come from likes, comments, or praise. It comes from what you actually accomplish when no one’s watching.
The Mindset Shift: From Validation to Execution
If you want to be truly successful, you need to make a shift in how you approach ur work. Stop chasing recognition and start chasing real improvement.Think about the most successful people u know the best students, the top entrepreneurs, the greatest athletes. Do you hear them talking about how hard they’re working all the time? No NEVER
They’re too busy doing the actual work. They’re not posting their progress or waiting for people to notice. They let their results do the talking.
U see, when you stop caring about proving yourself to others, you free yourself to actually focus on becoming the best version of yourself even if u cry u cry for yourself then get up . u remove the pressure to impress , and toxic judging, and you get to work quietly, diligently, with one goal in mind: mastery.
What Happens When You Work in Private?
1. You Remove Unnecessary Pressure : X always felt the need to maintain her image as the smartest student. She needed to show everyone that she was doing her best. But that pressure ended up being counterproductive. It distracted her from the true goal: understanding the material.
When you work in private, you get rid of that stress. You’re not constantly worried about what others think. You can focus purely on improving and mastering the task at hand without distractions.
2. You Build True Confidence : X confidence came from external validation. She thrived on people telling her how hardworking she was. Y confidence, on the other hand, came from knowing that she had actually put in the work and earned her success.
When you work in private, your confidence becomes unshakable. It’s built on your actual progress, not on how others perceive you.
3. You Avoid Premature Criticism and Distractions : By constantly posting updates, X opened herself up to distractions and premature criticism. The opinions of others, the need to compare herself to others, and the pressure to keep up with her image all took their toll.
Y didn’t get involved in any of that. She stayed focused on her journey, and that allowed her to perform at a much higher level without all the noise that comes with seeking validation.
4. You Become Unstoppable : When you stop seeking approval and start focusing on becoming the best at what you do, something powerful happens. You become unstoppable. You don’t need motivation from others. You don’t need praise. Your drive comes from within, and that internal fuel propels u toward excellence.
How to Adopt the ‘Work in Private’ Mindset
1. Stop Announcing, Start Doing
When u set a big goal—whether it’s acing an exam, launching a business, or learning a new skill keep it to yourself. Let the work speak for itself. Instead of announcing your plans, just get to work. Your results will make all the noise you need.
2. Focus on Deep, Meaningful Work
It’s easy to fall into the trap of appearing productive, but real success comes from deep, focused work. Focus on truly understanding, creating, and improving, not just on looking busy.
3. Let Your Results Speak
The most powerful proof of your hard work? The results. When you put in the effort, the results will show, and people will take notice. And if they don’t? It won’t matter. Because by then, you’ll already be winning.
The loudest people in the room may get the most attention, but the silent workers are the ones who change everything. While they seek validation, you build. While they perform, you improve. And when the results finally show? There’s no need to announce them. Success speaks for itself. And urs will be undeniable.

study tips: how to get a 4.00 GPA pt 2 🦢

─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
this is the second part of my first post!!
disclaimer: now these tips won't guarantee you getting immediate straight A's, but applying them to your school life will definitely improve it.
#6 act like the main character in a tv show:
this helped SOOO much! acting like that could result in more confidence and encourage you to join in activities as main characters are usually the leaders in a group project, this could help you build ur leadership skills.
#7 find people or characters you aspire to be like:
a character i aspired to be was Rory Gilmore (as i think she was to everyone), even just watching gilmore girls made me be determined to get good grades. Some characters that are academic weapons are: spencer hastings, elle woods, blair waldorf, and paris geller.
#8 behavior:
your behavior is so important. respecting ur teachers, valuing school rules, and helping ur friends are all synonymous with being a great overachieving student. remember to always be polite and respectful whenever approaching anyone!!
#9 change your mindset:
adopting a more positive mindset is the key to being put together during school exams, it improves ur focus and makes you care more about urself than others, which u will then channel into school work.
#10 make vision/pinterest boards:
having a clear image of exactly what u want is so helpful, making vision boards are my favorite things to do. they make me feel very motivated and dedicated to reaching my goals(in this case an A+ student).
now making vision boards is pretty easy, all you need is either a board or A3 paper, glue, scissors, & some pictures!! i would recommend making a list of the goals you want to achieve and searching them up on pinterest, picking the pictures to ur liking then printing them out, cutting them up, and sticking them to the board!
#11 manifesting:
my fav way of manifesting is listening to subliminals. i luv listening to them while doing hw, studying for a test, or even while sleeping. manifesting helps clear ur intentions and goals, because it involves focusing on them to bring them to life. i recommend the law of assumption and attraction.
#12 find study methods that work for you:
there are various study methods to choose from and are all catered to different learning styles. it took me a bit to find the ones that worked for me...🎀
♡ pomodoro method: first u set a timer (for example) for 30 mins of focused learning, then taking a break for 10 minutes.
♡ blurting method: its basically writing all that u understood from ur subject on a piece of paper, then after that reviewing it and looking at the areas where u might have gotten something incorrect.
♡ practice testing: theres many apps that could help u with this like quizlet, but personally i like to make my own practice exam. i primarily just gather the key points from the topic and make up questions about them.
♡ active recall: this requires using flashcards or just actively testing urself about what u remember from the topic.
♡ the Feynman technique: in this method, u essentially teach the topic to someone else(or ur wall or plushie). this can identify gaps in ur understanding.

The Tournament
Natasha Romanoff x F!R
Natasha was never one to shy away from a challenge, and your body paid the ultimate price. | WC: 1,254
Smut: Lengthy (10hrs 😉) | Taped | Mommy (N) | Oral (Both) | Fingering (N) | Spanking (N) | Overstimulation (R) | KO (R) — | — 2nd lil blip - Masturbation (R) | Promises of Oral | Teasing
Natasha was exhausted.
It had been ten hours of this. On and off
Mostly on, and you, well you were not cognizant.
——
The redhead had mistakenly read one of Tony's world record books, it was a gag that he childishly bought. In the section dedicated to fornication she had read that the longest "episode of sex" to have been recorded, with no change in intimacy partners, was five hours long. So of course, Natasha Romanoff, the competitive devil, took the challenge on to double it, ensuring that no one (human-wise) ever beat her record.
You knew when you met her on the battlefield that she was an overachiever. It was the way that she had been graceful the entire time she choked the enemy with her beefy, as well as soft, thighs. To the now, where she fell beside you with an arm that held no functionality. All of the adrenaline faded and she huffed a tired chuckle.
What a night it had been she mused within the hollow confines of her dimming mind. Though sore she was able to get out of bed and work to clean you up. The moment you two had hit hour eight you were snoring. Natasha admired the way your body convulsed with every sleep time orgasm, even if you couldn't feel it, you were having the time of your unconscious life.
The you of the morning will be gobsmacked and in some way turned on. Your vagina that should be in ruins would likely pulse with a sharp, painful need. For now though she settled your core beneath a pair of fresh panties and slipped you up the bed and onto the pillows that were designed for you. Then she cleaned up the room of any evidence. She took the toys down to the small, second kitchen you had and tossed them into the designated dishwasher. Then she finished off the tray of peanut butter sandwiches she'd made for the nights necessary fuel station. She also had vodka, and an assortment of chocolate and fruit to munch on.
The rules of the book stated that breaks that lasted less than three minutes were ebbed into the flow of things.
Natasha was terrified to let you down, and by you she meant her very annoying sense of pride. Which is why the night started off with you in the captains position. Your soft lips painted her skin a lovely blend of maroon and lilac, the blue to forge a galaxy would come later.
The way she mewled for you felt pornographic, and then you remembered she had planned to record this for proof. You shakily agreed so she set up five cameras around the room. At each two hour mark when she stopped to drink some water or bite into a peanut butter sandwich she'd stop the one and start the other when she was back. Each clip got a different angle, each with their own feature and timestamped to the second to further prove the breaks weren't prolonged.
Natasha nearly killed you when her knees locked behind your head; but you didn't mind. You whispered a prayer against her pussy that she'd hopefully find you in paradise one day, then she came with a miracle on the dancing tastebuds of your tongue. Oxygen filled your lungs just as it excavated hers, the both of you spluttered as you choked on her slick, and she forgot how to breathe in place of the dizzying pleasure.
Thirty minutes down, but you were far from tired. It showed in the wild irises Natasha's soft emeralds met. Whenever you looked at her like that she lost all of her sense of authority. You'd flipped her over and fingered her while backhanding and palming at her smooth ass. Natasha grunted at each slap then moaned at the thrusts, it was husky and made your body tremble.
Natasha chased every single high you offered her, and she was near to losing count when you slowed down. You'd made it to hour three, and that's when the need to rest began to set in. Natasha saw it, and flipped you over so she could take over. You'd lasted longer than anytime before in one straight session and she was so incredibly proud, but more importantly turned on.
"Fuck Y/N," she panted against your cheek as her fingers slid through your slick folds. "You made me cum eight times and my pussy is still throbbing as you moan in my ear." Her lips lowered further, hot breath tickled your ear and you giggled breathily. "Keep going my sweet girl, you're in for a long night so keep it up."
You did your best too, entertaining her with answers to her filthy questions, moaning and thrashing as she found a new way to get you to your new best orgasm, but then your lethargy began to set in once again.
At hour six Natasha had sat your limp form up and nourished you back to life within the time constraint. Offering you a bit more enjoyment before the eventual KO took place. Your cries turned into whimpers, then choked moans until the sound of skin slapping and slick sliding was all she could focus on as she thrusted.
There was no time to feel any aches when focusing on keeping your body mindlessly jolting so Natasha built up her mental walls and in the long run gave herself carpal tunnel. In the end she felt it was worth it, as she won the fictitious title of "longest sex (love making) session ever recorded," and then she found you three days later after coming home early (at midnight as opposed to 7am) with your fingers inside you as your eyes were transfixed on her head between your legs.
"Wanna make a new record?" You jumped up and held your slick hand out in front of you to stall her request from happening, but all the redhead did was lunge and take your fingers into her greedy mouth. She moaned at the uniquely tangy taste, but her eyes creased in contradiction as your slivered nail scraped her palate.
"I need to taste you," she grunted and you gasped, "Natasha baby please." She shushed you with a bruising kiss and rubbed your cunt against her latex suit. You choked on her tongue and she chuckled, "It's okay detka, you can admit that you need me, I'm here."
"I'm sensitive," you whimpered and she kissed the bridge of your nose in comfort. "I'll be gentle detka, I just want to spend four hours talking to your pussy. Gonna tell you all the reasons why I love you while your moans convey the same message back to me."
"Please," you were breathless now and this time you were beckoning her closer instead of away. She pecked your lips then pulled away abruptly to keep her focus on a shower, while also making you stumble. "Get on the bed with nothing on detka, keep your hands to yourself and sit pretty while I take my quick shower."
"Be fast mommy," you cried and she cackled as the door shut, showing you her intentions to edge you.
You smirked, excited that your plan had worked, much unlike your legs would come morning; Natasha would now likely spend the entire week at your beck and call.
In the end, everyone wins.
Well, except for Tony, who had to fork out the cash for sound proofing the walls and sending Steve to therapy.

studying like spencer hastings: a guide by mindy on becoming rosewood's top student 📚 (pll mini-series part 1)

hey loves! mindy here with an in-depth guide on how to truly embody spencer hastings' iconic study methods. i completely watched all 7 seasons of pretty little liars with my mother when the show first came out, it gives me so much nostalgia now, and i'm currently binge-watching it again. i decided to make a post based on spencer hastings and how she aces the "study icon" in the show. let's actually get into the mind of our favorite overachieving hastings sister and her actual study habits from the show.
spencer's signature study locations
the hastings' barn (her perfect study sanctuary)
the brew (corner table with coffee always)
rosewood high library (usually after hours)
her bedroom desk (facing the dilaurentis house)
hastings family kitchen island (late night cramming spot)
the hastings family pressure approach
spencer's drive comes from:
competing with melissa's academic record
maintaining the hastings family reputation
being top of every class
getting into upenn (her family legacy)
running for academic decathlon
spencer's actual study routine (as seen in pll)
morning routine:
field hockey practice at dawn
review notes during breakfast
morning newspaper with coffee
quiz herself while getting ready
arrive early to help teachers
study techniques we see spencer use:
reciting french verbs while stress-cleaning
creating murder boards (but make it academic)
using her photographic memory skills
studying while on the elliptical
recording herself reading notes
spencer-specific organization methods
her iconic planner system:
color-coded by subject and priority
sticky tabs for important deadlines
cross-referencing system
weekly, monthly, and semester goals
extracurricular schedule integration
the hastings approach to academic competition
remember when spencer:
joined academic decathlon despite drama
competed against mona
studied russian history all night
memorized entire poems
practiced debate skills with melissa
spencer's stress management (what we should and shouldn't copy)

healthy habits:
stress baking
field hockey as outlet
piano playing breaks
organizing when anxious
intense research sessions
things to avoid:
pushing herself to exhaustion
skipping meals for studying
letting competition consume you
isolating from friends
spencer's actual study materials (seen throughout pll)
her desk essentials:
leather-bound planners
monogrammed notebooks
post-it notes everywhere
family laptop
classic literature collection
ap study guides
debate team materials
newspaper clippings
french dictionaries
spencer's unique study methods
specific techniques we see her use:
creating conspiracy theory boards for subjects
turning historical events into mystery cases
debating with herself in the mirror
teaching aria and emily to boost understanding
writing perfect notes during crisis moments
the hastings time management system
how spencer balances:
field hockey team captain duties
maintaining perfect grades
student government
russian history club
debate team
family obligations
solving mysteries (kidding… kind of)
spencer's power moves
signature spencer habits:
correcting teachers (iconic but maybe don't)
knowing answers before questions are finished
having backup assignments ready
keeping extra credit work on hand
maintaining perfect attendance despite being threatened by a mysterious stalker
spencer hastings didn't become valedictorian by accident. her intense dedication, although sometimes extreme, shows us the importance of commitment and passion in academics. just remember to balance it better than she did!
sending you all the hastings determination minus the hastings family drama! ✨
xoxo, mindy

my lovely carinaa, i'm so happy for youuu!!💫
for this celebration, could you analyze barty and how he feels around divination? wich could be if he's good at it (tarot reading, chiromancy, tea leaves reading, astrology...), or how he would interact with a friend/lover who practices it.
anyways, i want to congratulate you again for being so amazing xx 💓
hi my darling<333 thank you so so much, you are amazing and a real day 1er for me mwah
✶・•・✦・•・✶・✶・•・✦・•・✶
i will ANALYSE barty crouch jr. and his relationship with divination
carina's 2k celebration
✶・•・✦・•・✶・✶・•・✦・•・✶
i think barty is really into divination ironically
by the time he got to his first divination class, he was already rebelling against his father and trying to create as sharp of a contrast between them as possible
considering his father is a politician who is swept up in paperwork and logistics, being a divination "fanatic" is a great way to achieve that
i mean, barty gets top grades in genuinely every single subject, i think he is the type who just puts everything together with zero effort, in that way that frustrates the academic overachievers like regulus to no end
but he rarely participates in class or use his knowledge unless it is to prove a point
so when he really throws his whole theatrical self into divination, it stands out to both students and professors alike
whether it is professor trelawney or someone else in this time period, i don't think they would be able to tell that barty is 1) bullshitting or 2) taking the piss
while evan and his other friends can clearly tell and are snickering in the background
barty would make up these elaborate stories about what he sees in the teacup or what he reads on someone's palm, gasping at what is "revealed" to him – if he was bored, he would maybe even fake cry
even though he doesn't really see anything or care all that much
his engagement and passion gets to the point where the professor invites him to have tea privately and discuss more advanced divination regularly
and barty will always commit to the bit, happily becoming the professor's favourite student and doing all the research
it was all for the act of rebellion and shits and giggles, barty's core motivations in life – until he begins to grow up a bit
as he gets towards fifth year and his perception of the world begins to even out and grow with him, i think he begins to have some change of heart
firstly, this boy has mummy and daddy issues, so being the professor's favourite would eventually do something to him
being loved? remembered? thought of? praised? validated? trusted? it was exactly what he needed
at some point, he starts viewing them as a parental figure, and quiets down on the mockery of it all
but it's not like he can just back out of how dedicated he was when he no longer wants to make as obvious of a joke of it, so instead he begins to become more earnest in his approach
especially as he learns more and more, he realises that divination is not just looking into an orb and making up random shit the way he has been approaching it; there is a method to the madness, an infinitely deep approach to this unique way of magic
while i don't think he would become a divination freak overnight, this respect would slowly be building within him as he comes to appreciate the professor more and more
made especially worse by the fact that his father got worse and worse the older he got
and as this respect grows, of course the rebellion against senior becomes more effective too, so in reality, barty still achieved what he wanted
then, if he around sixth/seventh year would begin falling for someone who is genuinely passionate about divination (whether that is whimsical!reader, spiritual!reader, etc.) that would be the final nail in the coffin
if you were to use divination in some capacity to understand him better and unpack the mystery that was barty crouch jr., he would feel so painfully seen
to have someone make an effort with him is not something he is used to
the fact that he knows so much from having weekly tea with the professor is something for you to bond over
and you get to teach barty what this form of magic means to you and how you make active use of it in your life
while barty stands by committing to bits and taking the piss out of any- and everything he can, i think he would truly see the value in it
having you hold his hand and analyse it would feel so intimate to him, and the fact that he even understood what you were saying when you read it would be something he was so grateful for
now, the joke would be less so "oh wow lads i love this useless type of magic" and rather more "i am a divination expert and i know better than all of you bigots"
(because while his affections may have changed, his personality obviously has not)
also the professor would so attend the wedding

I'll keep that in mind
Fandom: MCU Thunderbolts
Rating: General audiences
Characters: John Walker, Bob Reynolds
Ships: can be interpreted as VoidWalker but wasn't really written with that in mind.
Genre: slice of life, cozy,
Possible triggers? None.
Synopsis
Bob Reynolds, struggling with the weight of his powers and the chaos they can unleash, dedicates himself to the New Avengers by focusing on simple, everyday tasks within the Tower. His quiet efforts attract the attention of John Walker, who enters the laundry room with a playful demeanor, attempting to lighten the mood and check on Bob's mental state. However, as they engage in light banter, Bob's hidden turmoil comes to the forefront as he confronts his past actions under the influence of the Void, revealing his guilt and fear of having harmed his teammates.
___
The door creaked open, and John Walker stepped in, a figure of casual confidence against the backdrop of Bob’s quiet turmoil. The New Avengers had taken to checking in on Bob, ensuring he was ‘doing okay,’ and today, it seemed, it was John’s turn for the task. Bob couldn’t imagine any other reason for John to enter the little laundry room. Leaning against the wall with arms crossed, a half-smirk played on his lips, a stark contrast to the heaviness that hung in the air.
“Well, if it isn’t the Sentry,” John drawled, his voice laced with that signature edge of cocky charm. “Avenger, powerhouse, laundry connoisseur. Didn’t think folding t-shirts and pairing socks was part of the gig.”
Bob glanced over his shoulder, a faint, almost shy smile tugging at his lips, "Hey, someone’s gotta do it,” he replied softly, a hint of playfulness in his tone. “we can't all be out there punching bad guys.”
John chuckled, stepping further into the room. “Yeah, but this? Feels like you’re overachieving. Next thing I know, you’ll be baking cookies for the team.”
Bob let out a quiet, genuine laugh, a sound so rare it almost startled John and something about the older man's eyes softened. But as quickly the laughter started it faded. Unbeknownst to the team Bob had remembered more of the day that Void took over. What he'd let loose. How Void had hurt the few people that showed any interest in his well being.. Bob’s eyes dropped to the shirt in his hands, and his movements slowed. The hum of the dryer seemed louder now, more discordant, filling the silence that stretched between them.
“I hurt you,” Bob said suddenly, his voice barely above a whisper, the words fragile and raw. The shame he felt clawed at him, memories of the shame rooms creeping back in broad, disjointed strokes. He'd caused so much grief.. His darker half.
John blinked, the teasing grin slipping from his face. “What?”
Bob turned, his blue eyes locking onto John’s. “When… when the Void was loose,” Bob continued, his voice cracking under the weight of his confession. “The details are still fuzzy. But I hurt all of you. I know I did. I could… I could feel it. I couldn't control it. I wanted to. Please know I wanted to—I—”
“Hey. Hey,” John stepped closer, the distance between them collapsing. He reached out, squeezing Bob’s shoulder gently, a lifeline thrown into the turbulent waters of his shame. Carefully, John turned Bob to face him, though the younger man’s eyes remained cast down at the shirt crumpled in his fists. “None of us blame you for what happened in that abyss of despair, alright?” His tone was gentle but firm, a steady anchor. “Void was a force of chaos, feeding on the years of shit you’ve been through. And last I checked, you were right there with us through all of that.”
“We were in my mind, Walker,” Bob's voice strained against the weight of his emotions. “It was MY mind! I could feel everything Void was doing, manipulating it to restrain and hurt you guys, and I couldn’t do a thing about it. Do you know how scary that is? To just have no control?”
John lets out a slow heavy sigh. "Yeah.. yeah I know what that's like." He squeezes Bob's shoulder a little tighter before letting his hand drop. "After my friend was killed I was so angry.. someone had to pay. Didn't matter who. So in a blind rage I killed the one guy I could get my hands on. And for a moment... I felt.. vindicated. Like I'd dispensed justice. But after that vindication faded..." John trails off. Bob is giving him that soft sympathetic look that made John's chest ache for a reason he couldn't fully explain. John didn't want pity, maybe some understanding but... he quickly pushed onwards so the conversation didn't stay on him.
"I'm just saying I get it, but none of us blame you. It would be hypocritical if we DID. You don't have to beat yourself up about it Bob," John said a reassuring smile appearing. Bob is still looking at him carefully, as if trying to ascertain some of what was in John's head by taking in his features. God the younger man could turn into a fearsome poker player.... The blond shifts on the balls of his feet not liking how the silence is heavier and the focus is on him now.
"Your friend.. what was his name?" John felt suddenly like he was suffocating.
"Lemar. Lemar Hoskins."
"Lemar." Bob repeats the man's name as if trying to commit it to memory. He smiled at John, "I know you might not be ready now but.. if you ever want to talk about him, I'd love to hear stories about him."
Despite the kindness and good intentions, John felt like Bob kicked him in the chest. It ached and felt tighter than before. Each breath stung like he was sucking in ice water.
"Thanks," it was all John could manage for a long second. The dryer's buzz cut through the tension and Bob jumped at the sound letting out a nervous little laugh. "I'll let you get back to your very important work for the team," John was happy to have an out and slinked to the door as Bob turned to unload the dryer.
"And.. Bob?"
"Yeah ?"
"If you ever want to talk about what we saw in your Rooms... I honestly don't know how much help I'll be but I'll listen," John glances back at Bob. For a second the you get man looks painfully sad, and a little anxious but he shakes it off.
"Thanks John. I'll keep that in mind."
