I DO!!! i looooooooove reading books. which is funny bc i have dyslexia. but that never stopped me lololol.

im also a very fast reader especially if im hooked. ill finish 100k+ word books and fanfics in a day. like ill go on tiktok for 20mins get bored and go read. i read when i eat, before i sleep, in study breaks, on transit (even tho it makes me sick), on road trips (even tho that also makes me sick), and i buy a special book before i go on any plane and i always finish the book on the flight. if i find a movie or show is from a book id rather read the book bc then i can control the pace in my head (exceptions being game of thrones bc i watched the show w my friends but asoiaf is amazing). ill read anything too: novels, novellas, short stories, comics, manga, manhua, webtoons, and anything in between.

I have a strict no-AI policy because if you use AI to write your essays for a writing course it’s literally plagiarism because you didn’t write it and you’re not learning any of the things the course teaches if you just plug a prompt into the plagiarism generator that kills the environment, hope this helps!

My biggest tip for fanfic writers is this: if you get a character's mannerisms and speech pattern down, you can make them do pretty much whatever you want and it'll feel in character.

Logic: Characters, just like real people, are mallable. There is typically very little that's so truly, heinously out of character that you absolutely cannot make it work under any circumstance. In addition, most fans are also willing to accept characterization stretches if it makes the fic work. Yeah, we all know the villain and the hero wouldn't cuddle for warmth in canon. But if they did do that, how would they do it?

What counts is often not so much 'would the character do this?' and more 'if the character did do this, how would they do it?' If you get 'how' part right, your readers will probably be willing to buy the rest, because it will still feel like their favourite character. But if it doesn't feel like the character anymore, why are they even reading the fic?

Worry less about whether a character would do something, and more about how they'd sound while doing it.

today on the train home the guy next to me was on his phone and at one point i saw him go on tumblr and he just had like. a normie dash. like it was all photography. of nature and architecture. he was using tumblr the way a heterosexual landscaper for rich people might use instagram. i actually had to watch his screen for a few seconds to be sure it really was tumblr because i was so taken aback by the content he was viewing. this is why algorithmless websites are so beautiful btw because i genuinely didn't know that this side of tumblr even existed. he didn't even so much as scroll past any text posts.
