DC x DP Idea Thing #4
Dual-sided Rebirth AU (Official name pending)
Brain had this idea for over a week (or 2...) now, rent-free, but what if Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie all reincarnated as Harvey Dent's kids? Jazz and Dan are the old set of twins while Danny and Ellie are the younger set. Will all of them remember their past lives? I say majority of it.
This is before Harvey got scarred and became Two-Face and maybe the mother is someone before Gilda Dent? Idk, all I know is that all of them present as Metas despite neither Harvey or their mother had the meta trait (this is a case that Black Canary II falls under from what my research says), Danny and Ellie's powers showing from birth while Dan's and later Jazz's activated after.
Danny and Ellie were thought to be dead when they were born but they proved otherwise. Danny froze a nurse's hand while Ellie went into goop mode a few times. Later Dan and Jazz both set something on fire but for two completely different reasons, severity, and time. At least to say, Harvey here has a handful, especially if he was acting as a single parent here.
Harvey's gonna have a bit of a hard time first as a parent, regardless if this is pre-Two-Face era or not. Man here is (secretly) terrified at the thought of becoming like his father to his kids.
It takes a while but he gets used to the life of fatherhood despite also being busy as hell. The kids help out by behaving (as much as they can anyways), though, Jazz's powers do come in handy.
(She's like SCP-999 essentially here when she notices people are stressed in her proximity, for lack of better words. No one noticed she had powers till it manifested into harmless flames that had calming effects to it when nearby. With her powers + support from her and the rest of her siblings, they managed to delay Two-Face's debut for a while later on. But uh, yeah, her powers are gonna be very helpful for Harvey when Dan, Danny, and Ellie all gain more powers cause OOOOO BOY, blood pressure, am I right?)
Harvey becomes more motivated to get into Law after all his kid's powers were shown so they can be seen/treated as equals and not have Metas outright banned from Gotham especially, even though he keeps his kid's status as "metas" away from public knowledge. It later becomes an open secret though.
As stated earlier, the Two-Face debut is gonna be delayed. Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie are gonna be very protective of their dad (and pa when they officially meet Harv) after the attack. Mother henning children. I feel like Dan's gonna empathize with both of them a lot in a way and have late-night talks with dad and pa about the darker thoughts they all have.
As much as they all tried, though, Two-Face is gonna make an appearance cause this is Gotham.
When Two-Face era begins, Harvey and Harv likely avoid the kids (even if Danny and Ellie are still teens while Jazz and Dan are in Uni) as their way of protecting them from overall villain stuff the two do despite all of them trying to reach out to him and supporting them, hoping they'll get better.
I'm ngl, I feel like Dan and Danny are gonna join the criminal business with their dad and pa (much to their protests) cause someone has to look out for them. Ellie joins in on occasions for chaos and shenanigans (cause yes) and Jazz is glaring at Arkham with so much contempt cause YOU AREN'T HELPING HER DAD AND PA PROPERLY! (As well as the other inmates but STILL- YOU CALL THAT PROPER MEDICAL PRACTICE- Jazz ends up burning at least something whenever anything about Arkham is brought up. Everyone in the family is scared cause her flames normally don't even singe a thing)
Jazz is creating her own practitioner-place therapy thing cause TO HELL WITH ARKHAM!
I... Honestly don't know what I'm writing here anymore. More exhausted then usual. Might add/edit later. Idk. Just- Reincarnation for Fenton Kids, Harvey being Gotham's original Famous Dad before Bruce (which speaking of- he's Uncle Bruce and Dan and Danny don't trust him which confuses Harvey and Harv), and just, angst, fluff, chaos, and shenanigans.

Part five of the ficlet collection for "Hello My Old Heart"!~
Wedding vows are hard to write. I'm just gonna say that much. I also won't lie - I struggled a bit with this one, for some reason. Hope y'all enjoy it, anyway! Previous parts: Let's Be Us Again | Suddenly, Everything Has Changed | Sleeping In | Early Birdie | Smother Me | Marry You
((Hopefully the links work. I will be forever sad if they don't))
Wedding planning should not be difficult. Mind, wedding planning was not John Dory's forte. He and Hickory had discussed a couple of ideas; primarily wanting a smaller guest list and how they would write their own vows, but that was about it. He truly had no idea how to go about inviting the guests, book a venue, arrange food…none of it. But then Poppy had caught wind of how abysmally his planning had been going, and it had been taken right out of his hands completely. He was infinitely grateful to her, really. However, Poppy's idea of what his wedding should be like and his own were quite different.
"Honestly, Popstar, it's fine. Hickory and I are good even just standing in the middle of a field and saying our vows, if it comes down to it. We don't need all this fan fare," John said quickly, watching as Poppy flipped through several wedding scrapbooks, going back and forth between them all while making notes. She looked up at him with a little frown.
"No way. You're Branch's oldest brother, and you were a member of BroZone! This is going to be big, and amazing! Trust me," Poppy said, waving a dismissive hand through the air.
John frowned and glanced at Branch, who was busy fiddling with some new invention of his off to the side. "Branch! Tell her to stop."
Branch spared John a short glance, only to roll his eyes and go back to his tools. "You're a big troll now, John Dory. Use your words."
John huffed out a breath, turning back to Poppy. She had color swatches out now and was holding them up near John's face to compare to his fur color. He grimaced, gently pushing her hands away. "Look, Poppy," he sighed, trying to put as much sincerity into his tone as he could muster, "I appreciate what you want to do. Really, I do. But Hickory and I just don't want a huge event made of this. Neither of us really like a big crowd, and we don't want some massive ragger of a party. And, before you say it, I know how that sounds coming from me. Please. If you want to plan our wedding, I won't stop you, because I really appreciate you taking all of this over for me. But can we keep it small?"
Poppy made a couple of abortive motions with the swatches in her hands, before finally deflating and nodding slightly. "Okay, fine. Family and close friends, only. But I will be making the flower arrangements as big as I want!"
"Deal," John snorted, holding out his hand, Poppy grinning widely as she shook it.
~
John had been ready to say his vows to Hickory withing a week of Hickory's awkward half-proposal. However, Poppy apparently needed at least three months to make the arrangements for everything she had planned. She told him, at one point, that what she had originally wanted to do would've taken six months, but after John's haggling she knocked her plans down to something she could put together in three. Plus, she had pointed out, John and Hickory's guests would need time to make appropriate travel plans and arrangements.
Needless to say, John was getting restless waiting. Two months into it, and even Sky was getting agitated.
"Why can't you do it now?" the trolling whined, flopping himself dramatically onto the ground. He kicked his little feet into the floor, his face smushed into the carpet, "Waiting feels like forever."
John snorted, elbow deep in the sink as he washed dishes, glancing over his shoulder to watch Sky briefly. "Because your aunt Poppy wants everything to be special. Plus, it hasn't been that long since your uncle Bruce visited. He's gotta make sure the restaurant is gonna be okay if he leaves again."
"UGH," Sky whined, rolling over to stare up at the ceiling. "Fine, I guess."
"Such a generous boy," Hickory laughed, taking a dish from John to dry and put away.
"Mmm. What's got your hair in a twist, anyway? It's not like anything will change around here after the wedding," John hummed, pulling the plug in the sink as he finished the last dish.
"No, I know," Sky sighed, tilting his head so he could watch his parents in the kitchen, "But, some of the kids at school were talking about aunt Poppy and uncle Branch's wedding, and some of them said only trolls in true love get married. And I know you and Papa are in true love, but a girl at school told me you couldn't be, 'cause you weren't married."
John snorted in mild offense, while Hickory simply frowned as he put the last of the dishes away.
"You tell that girl at school that anyone can be in true love, marriage or not," Hickory said as he turned to his son, hands on his hips, earning a surprised look from John, who'd had a snarky remark at the tip of his tongue. "As a matter of fact, sometimes true love just smacks ya right in the face, an' ya don't even realize it. Other times, it's real slow and creeps up on ya while yer not lookin'. True love can happen anytime, an' anywhere. You don't need no fancy ceremony an' a ring to show you've got true love."
Sky had sat up on the floor to pay better attention to his father while he spoke, little sparkles in his eyes at the impassioned speech. "Which one happened with you and Dad?"
"Well," Hickory chuckled, "The smack in the face sure happened to me." He glanced at John with a fond look on his face, "An' I'm pretty sure the slow creep happened to yer Dad."
"You big sap," John snorted, though he had to hide his face behind a hand to try and block the view of the dark flush that had spread across his cheeks.
~
"John?"
"Muh?!" John jerked awake, blinking muzzily into the darkness as he sat up, looking around in a daze.
"Sorry, schatz," Hickory murmured, rubbing at John's shoulder to calm him down. John let out a little sigh, settling back down into the pillows.
"What's up?" John murmured, squinting through the dark at Hickory.
"I wanted to talk to you about something."
"…And it couldn't wait until morning?"
Hickory let out a breathy little laugh, petting at John's jaw gently. "I don't think so."
John waited for Hickory to speak, his brain slowly trying to pull him back down into sleep, before he forced himself into wakefulness again. "Well?" he grunted, rubbing at his face.
"Sorry. It's just…hard. It's hard to say," Hickory muttered. Another moment passed before Hickory sighed, shifting against the bed to lay flat on his back, his gaze focused on the ceiling. "I would like to extend an invitation to the wedding to Dickory."
John immediately sat up again, his mind now wide awake. "You what?"
Hickory sat up as well, holding his hands up in a placating gesture, although John could barely tell he was doing so. "I know! I know how that sounds, but…He's my brother."
"Yeah! Your brother who tried to-what was it he said? Oh, right. MAIM me? Because apparently, he wasn't actively trying to kill me. Just came real close," John seethed, trying to keep his voice quiet. "He called me a whore on multiple occasions!"
Hickory seemingly floundered for words for a few minutes as they sat in the dark in silence, while Hickory audibly fiddled with the blankets in his lap. "I'm sorry. I know he was terrible. To both of us, but especially you. But…he is the only family I have left, liebling. I want him to at least know that I'm happy. That we're happy, despite everything…This is why I wanted to talk to you now. I didn't want to argue in front of Sky."
"Oh, yes. Because waking me up in the middle of the night is going to lead to a really productive conversation," John groused, flopping back down into the pillows. He could hear Hickory continue to fiddle with the blankets for a long moment, before laying down next to him again. He groaned while throwing an arm over his eyes, already feeling the guilt welling up in his chest at Hickory's silence. "Okay, fine! You can send him an invitation. But you're going to need to talk to Poppy, since y'know…he got banished and all that."
John grunted as Hickory practically rolled on top of him and pulled his arm away from his face. "Thank you, schatz! If Poppy agrees, and he shows up, I will make sure to keep him on tight reins," Hickory hummed, pressing a smile into John's cheek.
"Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm pretty great," John grumbled, wrapping his arms around Hickory. "Now, let me go back to sleep before our kid comes banging at our door to get up."
~
Finally, after months of waiting, the day of the wedding arrived.
John was nervous, to say the least. He and Hickory had agreed to Poppy's weird rule that the couple needed to spend the night before the wedding apart. It had been the first night in four years that John hadn't slept next to Hickory, and that alone had been enough to set him on edge for the day. And now, only a few scant hours before the wedding, he was stood in the little tent Poppy had had set up as a makeshift dressing room, in front of a mirror, staring at himself forlornly. His outfit was impeccable; a dark purple suit that Branch had, surprisingly, picked out with black and gold accents, and a black headband to replace his goggles. Certainly not his usual color scheme or style, but definitely complimentary to his natural colors. He knew he looked good (Poppy wouldn't let him walk out in something tacky. He hoped, anyway), but that didn't stop the thrill of nerves making him sweat.
"You look like you swallowed a lemon."
Bruce's voice startled John out of his silent revere, causing the teal troll to finally turn away from the mirror.
"And what if I did?" John tried to joke, but it fell flat as Bruce walked into the tent proper, a concerned little frown on his face. He shifted under his younger brothers scrutiny, before finally letting out a puff of air, while wiping his palms on the bottom of his suit jacket. "I'm just nervous."
"Whatever for?" Bruce chuckled, moving forward to fix the lapels of John's suit jacket.
"I genuinely have no idea," John laughed, already beginning to feel ridiculous as he thought about the conversation he'd had with Bruce previously, back when Sky's egg had first appeared in his hair. "I know he loves me, no matter what."
"And he's definitely in it for the long haul," Bruce agreed, stepping back from John with an easy smile. "You've got nothing to worry about. Today is really more of a formality, then anything else."
"I bet you were still nervous when you and Brandy got married, even if you knew she was in it for the long haul," John pointed out with a cheeky grin, laughing as Bruce flushed.
"Oh, I was a wreck," Bruce admitted with a little shrug and a nod, "I'm surprised I didn't trip over my own feet while walking up the aisle." He paused for a moment, fiddling with the bright orange rose bud on his lapel. "This probably isn't the best time to say this, but I wish you'd been there."
John chewed on the inside of his cheek to stop himself from starting to cry already, and gave a little nod. "I do, too."
Bruce nodded, clearing his throat as he not so subtly wiped at his eyes. "Right, well! Break a leg out there, Johnny," the purple troll declared, spinning on his heel to walk out of the tent.
"Bruce, wait!"
Bruce paused, turning to offer his brother a questioning glance.
"I know this is probably gonna sound weird, and Poppy might lose her marbles, because we didn't rehearse it, but, uhm," John cleared his throat, tugging at the hem of his jacket to straighten it, "Will you…walk me down the aisle?"
That was enough to get Bruce to burst into tears, his hands quickly shooting up to cover his face. "Oh my god, John!" he sniffed, shaking his head, "Right before the wedding?! I'm gonna be all blotchy."
"Oh, uh, sorry!" John scooped a tissue box up from his little vanity, offering it to Bruce, "Is that a 'no', then?"
"Is that a 'no'," Bruce mocked, snatching up tissues, "Of course it's a YES, you idiot. Glitter and cupcakes, you have the worst timing known to troll kind,"
"Ha, yeah…"
~
"You ready?"
"As I'll ever be, I guess."
The music queue began to play, notifying John that he should be walking down the aisle now. The teal troll turned to his brother, his smile crooked as they linked arms.
"It'll be great."
"I know."
~
"As I've been informed, the couple has written vows for each other. You may now recite them. Hickory, you may go first."
Hickory grinned brightly at John as the two stood at the alter, barely a foot apart but both feeling like they were still an ocean away, unable to reach out and touch. Sky was stood between them, just in front of the officiator, a little pillow that had previously held the rings they'd exchanged clutched in his hands as he watched his parents with stars in his eyes.
The country troll dug into the pocket of the black and gold floral pattern suit he wore, pulling a well worn, dog eared piece of paper out. He cleared his throat as he unfolded it carefully, glancing up at John with a smitten little smile, before he began to read.
"John Dory…I will never forget the day I first laid eyes on ya. Time felt like it stopped, an' my world suddenly felt like it could be so much bigger. Ya made me realize that I could be more than what other folks told me I should be, or what I should want. You gave me hope, an' I thought that was the most precious gift any troll had ever given me. But then ya gave me yer love, an' I realized that nothin' in this world or the next would ever compare. An' then you gave me a child…an' I don't think anythin' I can say or do will ever truly express just how grateful I am to receive all of the gifts you have given me, an' to have you in my life. I love you, with all a' my heart. An' I promise to keep tryin', every day of my life, to show ya just how much ya truly mean to me."
Hickory lifted his gaze from his speech, tears in his eyes, only to let out a wet laugh at the tears already streaking down John's cheeks.
"Oh, you're good," John whispered, sniffing loudly and wiping quickly at his eyes as Hickory chuckled. "I don't have proper vows written," he admitted, reaching out to take one of Hickory's hands, once the country troll had tucked his little piece of paper back into his pocket, "But, I thought I'd do something a little unconventional. Since we've always been a bit unconventional." He turned his head to nod at Branch, who quickly pulled a microphone out of his hair to hand over to John. "Hopefully my voice isn't too mucked up from crying," he added with a chuckle into the microphone, earning a smattering of laughter from the guests.
"There goes my heat beatin', cause you are the reason…" ((click here to listen to John's song))
Cheers broke out from the guests as John finished his song, a little grin on his face as Hickory openly wept in front of him. "Haha, I win," he said quickly into the microphone, before handing it back to Branch, earning a light punch in the arm from his youngest brother.
"And with that, I now pronounce you husband and husband," the officiator announced, with another round of cheering from the crowd as Hickory yanked John into a kiss.

Bruce: my god I'm sick and tired of Dick just thinking he can do whatever you want, should have seen this new team coming.
Oliver: honestly, Roy is such a headache now. What about you Allen, Wally giving you a hard time?
Barry: oh... We're supposed to have a hard time?
Bruce: ... You don't mean—
Barry: Wally a good kid, I thought when they made the teen titans it was mutual for everyone in this like with Diana and Arthur, you guys are having problems?
Bruce:

Hal: this is why I'm an uncle not a dad.
Barry: uh... You're a great uncle in the future.
Hal: Barry... What are not telling me.
Barry: future stuff...
Oliver: ha! He says you suck as a parent too!
Barry: well, on the topic of the future, we're going to be family soon so,,, *gesturing to him, Oliver, and Bruce*
Bruce and Oliver: say what now—
Hal: ooo the future is messy.
Bruce, internally: am I married to Oliver!? Gross! At least Barry will be there.
Oliver, internally: damnit did Roy get them pregnant!?
(no trans headcanon on this one 🤣)
Hal, internally: these two rich bitches after my man!
Barry, internally: I hope they understand our kids are going to marry each other... Huh, Hal looks pissed off maybe I shouldn't have brought it about his future... I'll get him something.

Weird thing, but I miss Alfred.
It's shaping up to be one of the longest "deaths" of a famous, legacy secondary character, at least in modern DC history. And in that way, it served the narrative pretty well, subverting the usual problems with death in comics. Sure, it was all over an ego trip some bad former Editor in Chief decided to have on a whim; King didn't really plan to kill off Alfred so nonchalantly and it wasn't meant to stick. People know that, it's well documented and they even had foreshadowing that he was Clayface being a part of the plan. So the fact that it sticks should be lauded, right? This is, after all, how death works.
And, sure, it made some characters grow. Bruce, specifically, moving to a brownstone and taking care of his son all by himself is a genuinely cool idea and I'm enjoying seeing him bond with Damian in ways he never bonded with the others. Dick as a billionaire philanthropist dedicating his newfound fortune to Alfred, his late sponsor, is a genuine stroke of genius. Actual change and progress in comic books, holy shit. A feast Spider-Man fans don't even remember how it tastes!
Yet it sometimes feels like you're reading a Batman book in an empty house, because Alfred is gone, and it was over nothing. An unplanned death that took him suddenly with no real gravitas or preparation. Not exactly the same -- okay, not the same by a wide margin, -- but it kinda reminds me of how Buffy fans reacted to The Body.
The character was here, and now they're not, and it genuinely feels empty and real in a way you're not really expecting popcorn media to feel. There's no power fantasy or melodrama or anything. Someone broke his neck and threw his body on the floor, and that's the end of Alfred Pennyworth.
And like, yeah, man, people obviously write stories about other versions that are alive and flashbacks. Nobody is literally gone from comics, things don't move forward *exclusively*, Alfred is a brand unto himself and will never be truly gone. It's the same reason why aging up Jon Kent isn't that big a deal; Super Sons will release as long as someone gets the approval, it's just going to be a flashback. It's fine. But to see the world having to move forward without him has been quite something, you know? People have had big personal moments that he's not there for.
Dick and Barbara got back together, Jason moved to the Hill, Tim got a boyfriend -- it's the kind of stuff these kids could rely on Alfred to talk about, or to help out with, or to simply Be There as a zealous figure for them, and he's just. Not. And the story moves on all the same, yet now it feels like there's a panel missing, somewhere.
Albeit they had like two or three individual times when the actual fucking ghost of Alfred Pennyworth came to say goodbye and peace out to Bruce, I still think it's a pretty solid guess that he'll come back before the end of the decade. The nature of comics means sometimes you need a back from the dead story to keep things fresh, and those can be done extremely well -- Resurrection of Magneto might be the best thing released in the Krakoa era, as far as fully realized minis go. But...
Shit, Alfred missed Damian going to school, you know? That's really sad. I miss Alfred. In a way I'll never miss Uncle Ben or the Wayne couple, I really miss opening a monthly and reading the latest wit out of Alfred's mouth at his silly son and his funny crusade. The nature of comic books being infinite until they're cancelled means this sort of relationship just doesn't get cut like this very often, and I can't recall the last time I *cared* when they tried cutting it.
It will be an awkward day when he comes back and it's back to normal business again, honestly. There's now an understanding of what Batman is without Alfred that I feel they don't have a great way of addressing. Don't really envy the writer who gets the job.

After reading this thoughts of a part two had my mind running from this prompt
Just a heads up this is going to be all over the place, but won't be too difficult to follow just bear with me, I don't usually write down my maladaptive daydream plots ideas
Either Jason ask
"... so what kind of powers am I going to have?"
Or one of the other bat-fam asks
" So, what kind of powers is he going to develop?"
[Got me thinking Danny would respond like]
"Oh that's easy I finally remembered them all, flight, invisibility, (Danny proceeds to list a crazy long list of powers)"
Or
"....Well there's flight, invisibility, ecto energy like ghost ray and force fields(he could even shoot a small one out for example), intangibility, telekinesis, uh.....increased strength and senses like hearing, smell, sight, then there’s ghost sense, overshadowing, hmm.... oh right duplication, I always forget about that one, there's creating portals but Dani and I had a hard time learning that might take you a while, uh.... did I mention ghost wail yet?.....what? (mouth gaping shock)
[Probably depends if Dani is his sister or daughter]
[And depends if she got her own core type or same ice core]
[the response depends on which bat-fam member responds]
"(shocked and asks what's overshadowing but then stops themselves) we'll go back to that one, who's Danny?
"Dani with an 'i', your sister, oh teleportation forgot that one too
"Tele-I have a sister?!?"
"Yeah older sister and aunts(I'm counting Val as an aunt) and [depends on the ship ex: everlasting trio, just Sam or just Val, I’m leaning towards everlasting trio], I have to introduce you to the rest of the family, actually I have to tell the rest of the family first....”
“You didn't tell them about me”
“No, didn't have time to, I came straight here when I sensed you"
[random bat-fam] "Wait, you said Older sister?! When did you have her?!?"
"Huh? Oh no no no she's a clone”
Or
"Who's Danny?..."
"Oh my sister, one of your aunts”
“You guys are both named Danny/Dani? Doesn't that get confusing”
“Its Dani with an “i” or Elle, short for Danielle and she’s my clone so we make a joke out of it”
"You've been cloned?!?
"Yeah, by my ex evil Godfather... well that's another story, actually he might be able to help you with your duplication better than me when we get there
Oh and Dani has a different core so she doesn't have my full kit, you might develop a different core too, but the base powers won't be different"
[This could either be bad parents or good parents]
But if its good I imagine Maddie and Jack spoiling him with weapons aka ecoto guns
...... writing this I just remembered how Jason even came to be because they kicked Danny out......
Well damn, well Danny could make him guns
Honestly I just see the family trying to spoil him rotten
I would like for him to stick with calling Bruce Dad though he can call Danny GD like in “ The curious case of D. Grayson” for Ghost Dad
And if it's Pharoah tuck and undergrowth Sam
Val could be a ghost zone hunter or a ghost zone bounty hunter/infinite realm bounty hunter
They could be uncle tuck/uncle pharaoh tuck.... aunt Sam and aunt Val/aunt V
don't know what he would call them if its everlasting trio
[Since Danny was 14 when Dani was made, 18 when Jason was born, he how old would he now if Jason became red hood when he was 18-19]
I'll make him 19y for a red hood vigilante foundation, kinda want to make him older but I'll just figure out the math and add on in my mind if I want him older in my daydreams
So Danny would be 37 along with Sam/Tuck/Val
Jazz is 2y+ than Danny so she'll be 39
Danny stop aging at 25
Id say both Sam and Tucker stopped aging like 2-3 years after 25 when they fully took in their liminality powers?  Now they're just waiting to die or something, got no clue i just need them to either die and revert or stop aging
What if Danny faked his death and is just waiting for them to die
Or he's just shapeshifting to appear like he's growing older but still waiting for them so he can dip from the mortal realm
I disagree with my previous thoughts now, I still want him and everyone else to have a human identity as long as possible, he could have a bunch of degrees with a job at Nasa or something
Wait…. How old would Bruce be?
So Bruce was 34y when he met Jason at 12y
22y years older than him would make him 41y, not that much older than Jazz and Danny at all especially Jazz, maybe they could be friends [Just friends.] she can help with his family connection problems or something
I high key want Jason to be small boy robin in his ghost form, but i want Danny and Dani to look older, so that would put on the possibility of him being able to change his form to look older
No wait I like it, they all still look the same age they died/were created
No wait….then he’ll appear older than both of them..., I'm just not going to think about this right now
Well at least they're tall as freaks in their human forms, which explains why Jason is the tallest bat sibling, but still shorter than all three Jazz, Danny and Dani
OP daddy Danny
... I got carried away again

There are a few very important things to remember when discussing whether Batman, or any other character, should appear in My Adventures with Superman:
1. We don't know how many seasons we're going to get. Placing all your money on something happening in season 5 is not the strongest gamble without recognizing that we might not even get a season 2
2. Cameos and team-ups can take a bunch of different sizes. However, it can be difficult to do a cameo of an important character without it seeming like foreshadowing for a larger plot
3. Cameos are a lot of fun and don't have to include the character themselves (consider the Vicky Vale clipping or the Amazo Tech billboard)
4. There are a lot of Golden/Silver/Bronze age characters in the Superman family that might get priority
These are my personal thoughts on them:
I really think My Adventures with Superman should focus solely on the Daily Planet team (Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Perry). However, in later seasons especially, I'd love to see some Lana Lang and her uncle Professor Potter! They're such a major part of the Silver Age comics that MAWS draws clear inspirations from. However, I'd really hate to see that become a love triangle situation in any real way.
MAWS is also inspired by the 1940 radio show The Adventures of Superman which is so evident. I keep having to remind myself that in this version, Jimmy isn't a 14 year old paper boy. I am really excited to see if Flip Johnson and this new incarnation of the Newskid Newspaper takes on either a parallel role to their Newsboy Legion versions in the 70s or to Jimmy's role in the radio show.
As for Bruce/Batman, I know there's a lot of discussion on whether he should show up because he dominates all DC media and fandom spaces right now. Although I don't want him to become central to any plot whatsoever, I would absolutely love a Bruce Wayne cameo or easter egg.
If we do get a Batman & Superman team up down the line, it 100% needs to include Robin. Not immediately, but in a later season or two.
I don't want Supergirl to show up - not for a long time at least. She is very important to the Superman Family, however she has such separate origins and identities and relationships that it'd be very difficult to properly flesh her out while keeping her as a secondary character. (In comparison, other heroes from their own franchises such as Wonder Woman, Batman, etc, don't need to be fleshed out in MAWS. They could just appear as occasional support. Because Supergirl is of the Superman franchise, she would need to take up lots of space to get cemented as a character. There is a lot less allowance for her to have off-screen activities).
Honestly, all of the superpets could be super fun, but if I could only have one it'd be Krypto. Without Kara there, I don't think it makes sense to have Streaky/Supercat or Comet/Super-Horse either (also Comet's backstory is just really weird). Beppo/Supermonkey and Krypto/Superdog were primarily part of Clark's childhood adventures as Superboy. However, Krypto is a much bigger part of Superman's legacy and I 100% want to see him interacting with the MAWS team!
Lucy Lane, Lois' sister and Jimmy's love interest could easily show up. That said, I don't think they ever knew what to do with her despite being such a reoccurring character. So it'd be really interesting to see how they'd portray her!

What drives me crazy with Dick Grayson is that literally he's only " " canonically " " like what? 24? 23? He was an only child at least until he was 18 and within literally the time of a bachelor's and masters degree he went from just starting as nightwing never had any siblings but a team who loved him and now he has no external support and is supposed to be the "glue" for a ginormous family that's developed faster than he could blink. Honestly I think while Dick loves and enjoys all his relationships with his family half the time he still feels like he wishes they were all friends and a little closer in age instead of him suddenly being in charge and cleaning up Bruce's problems not just for Bruce, but now cleaning up Bruce's problems which cause everyone else problems which cause more problems which inevitably he has to fix because no one else will
And 6ish years ago he didn't have ANY siblings! The whiplash is crazy. I think the fact that Dick would resent all this proves how much he loves them all bc he still goes to such lengths for his family despite his frustration and aggravation
hiya anon! i think right now, dick is in his mid-twenties, say 25 or 26... which is CRAZY bc in my head i am always picturing him as 29 or early 30s... but canonically i think he's stuck with the mid-twenties just like tim is stick at 17
also, i get the impression that all my posts about dick being in a kind of limbo of "eldest daughter" and also estranged brother-son figure to bruce has kind of given the perspective that i think he bemoans his position in the family, but i think he honestly greatly enjoys it! there really hasn't been many instances in canon, if any at all unless looked at with a severe magnifying glass, that gives off the impression that dick more or less begrudges the amount of pseudo-siblings and other family members he has come into quick possession of. if anything, i think dick probably takes a lot of comfort in being able to have so many people around him again, as i think what a lot of people miss out on is that dick didn't come from an "only child family" but a village (haly's). we get glimpses of his family life before bruce, and ultimately it forms a picture of one where, yes, dick was the center of attention because he was the baby of the troop, but also he was more or less raised in a huge family that consisted of people entirely unrelated to him- aunts, uncles, people he looked to as sisters or brothers, grandfather figures, cousins, friends; all of these more familial lens people that he grew up with until his parents were murdered, and he was suddenly taken away from
i imagine the shift to being surrounded by many to being surrounded by exactly two would have been very startling. and, like you said anon, it wasn't until he fully integrated with the titans did that sense of a bigger family really come into perspective for him. however, it is interesting that you bring up how fast it all happened, as i agree, dick essentially got- what? four or five new "family members" within the span of five or so years? like, that's a pretty big shift from being a trio (dick, bruce, and alfred) for ten years, adding very few people (excluding the titans) that he could sincerely count on or even recognize as family (barbara, for example), and now all within the span of a bachelor's degree, he's had to hand off his robin legacy to three different people. damian came a bit after everyone else had more or less settled, but he's a wholeeee other topic of conversation considering exactly what had to happen for him and dick to even meet the way they did
but, going back to the quick new additions, again i don't think dick has ever for a moment thought to begrduge or resent the influx of people in his life. i think a really defining part of his character is his love of people, his love of being around them. while bruce loves people, he loves them in a kind of distant way, where he sees gotham itself as akin to a person he can love- a person composed of a million other individuals, but an almost singular entity. the same goes for bruce's love of the world, i think. but dick, dick loves people as individuals, as persons he can speak to, hold, comfort, cry for, touch, embrace, etc. dick likes the physical presence of people, as well as the whole of humanity like bruce, and i think the defining line of separation for the two and how they love people, is how they grew up
circling back to dick's early childhood, he was raised not only surrounded by the performers, but also the crowds, the fans. dick grew up loving being loved, and though that may come off as superficial or a purely egotistical thing, i interpret it as something that is a soulful, very human thing. bruce can love humanity without being loved, and so can dick, but dick is also willing to embrace the love he gets in return. it's why, i think, dick is also known for having so many lady friends (donna, kory, and barbara being the most outstanding examples). dick loves to be loved, and he also loves to love, so to me, dick suddenly feeling trapped because of a couple new additions to a family that has been so small for so long doesn't make complete sense- i'm not arguing with you however anon!! just making my case that, even though i do think it's an interesting thing to meta-textually analyze, with dick being in that eldest position as well as the next "bruce" (oof, that's shudder inducing), it doesn't quite follow his character for him to wish that things might be different in their circumstances

GN! reader x Wally West
Warnings: Major Character Death
Even after the funeral it never stopped raining. It was almost as if the whole world was mourning too. Losing someone like the Flash was like a punch to the gut. He was loved by his friends, family, even his enemies. But to those closest to him they didn’t just lose a hero. They lost a friend, husband, father, and an uncle. The death of Barry Allen would haunt Y/N for the rest of their life.
They only knew him for the 3 years that Wally and Y/N have been spending together. Wally’s family is big and full of love and took to Y/N in no time. But out of everyone Barry and Iris were the most excited to meet Y/N. They were so warm and Barry just couldn’t seem to stop hugging them. They didn’t mind though, it’s a gesture that is honestly missed.
And the smile that adorned Wally’s face every time they went to visit was infectious. Iris and Barry were his two most favorite people in the world. Y/N took no offense to this because it was easily seen as to why. Wally not only loved his uncle but looked up to him. Y/N has spent countless hours listening to Wally retell his favorite adventures with his uncle. Y/N laughed, cried, and appreciated every energetic story Wally told.
Y/N and Wally went over to the Allen house as much as they could. Especially when the tornado twins were born, it takes a village to raise super kids. The home was such a comfort and filled with so much joyful noise.
But ever since that day, that same home has been plunged into silence. A dark cloud seemed to loom over it as a family was left in shambles. That same cloud seemed to loom over the cozy apartment shared by Y/N and Wally. Ever since the funeral it was almost as if Wally had taken a vow of silence. He shared a beautiful speech that day, one that left everyone in tears. Even Bruce was sniffing by the end of it.
Y/N was very hands-on leading towards the day of the service. Being a pillar of support for the Flash family. Helping Iris with flowers, putting the twins down for naps, squeezing Bart’s shoulder when it was his turn to lay his flowers, and preparing food for after the service. But when it came to Wally, he acted as if he was fine. Like the death of his uncle wasn’t hurting him as bad as it was.
Wally’s eyes always remained straight forward but were also always glassy with unshed tears. Every time Y/N asked Wally if he was alright or needed anything the answer was always a small smile and “I’m fine.” Y/N couldn’t understand why Wally was adamant about appearing alright. Lost in their thoughts Y/N almost didn’t hear the kettle screaming.
Y/N quickly removed it off the flame and placed it to the side. They reached up to the cupboard and looked for two mugs to pour the hot water into. A black mug with a faded Batman symbol for Y/N, and a shiny new Green Lantern mug for Wally
“I need it!” Wally had said one day while the two of them went to the store one time.
Y/N chuckled fondly at the memory but as the teabags steeped the smile fell from their face. Y/N added cream and just about 50 spoonfuls of sugar to Wally’s cup. For them some honey and milk was just fine.
Y/N picked up the mugs and walked over to their shared room. They bumped the door with their hip and entered.
“Here ya go, half tea and half sugar.” As they walked over Wally shimmied up in the bed. Lifting himself up by his elbows Wally watched Y/N place the cup on his nightstand.
“Thanks babe.” Wally smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes.
And Wally’s short response didn’t sit well Y/N as they sipped on their own tea. Thunder rolled and soon lightning followed after it.
Y/N's stomach was rolling with anxiety but they knew it was time. The conversation was going to be uncomfortable but Y/N could see the signs. Wally’s hair was long, uncharacteristically long. He was another week of not shaving away from having a full beard. His eyes were dark and unfocused almost all the time now. Wally’s side of the bed was always warm, because to be quite honest he barely ever leaves it.
And even though Barry’s passing is fresh, the world goes on. People still need saving, so his indicator has been blowing up left and right! Waiting to be answered, but Wally doesn’t. He just left it in a drawer, maybe in an attempt to silence it. And everyday it bleeped and chirped but Wally just wouldn't pick it up. Eventually the battery on the damn thing died. And even after that it stayed in that drawer.
Y/N sighed and that’s when Wally looked up from his mug. Y/N stared at him and Wally must have known what was up because he quickly looked away. Y/N put their mug on their nightstand and jumped up on the bed. Sitting on their knees they cleared their throat as they attempted to start speaking.
“Wall—“I'm fine Y/N.” Y/N blinked owlishly at Wally.
“What?”
“I said I’m fine Y/N.”
Y/N lifted a brow at Wally because it was obviously a lie.
“Ok, the fact that you’re saying that before I could even say something just lets me know that you’re everything but fine!”
Wally seemed to ignore them as he reached over the bed for the remote. Wally placed his mug down and started aimlessly flicking through channels.
Y/N breathed in deeply through their nose and exhaled. Attempting to have some patience with their lover. But they still went ahead and snatched the remote out of Wally’s hand anyway.
“HEY I was watching tha-No you weren’t.” Y/N turned the T.V off and flung the remote to a corner in the room.
“Wally, you are not fine. You keep telling me that but anyone can see that you’re struggling.”
Wally sighed and clenched his eyes tight, laying back down on the bed.
Y/N licked their lips as they continued.
“I know it’s been hard and you’ve done an amazing job taking care of everybody else, but you need to do the same for yourself. You’re hurting, baby.”
Y/N reached for Wally hand lacing their fingers together. Wally’s eyes were still closed but he gave a squeeze letting Y/N know he was still listening.
For a moment they just sat together in silence as the sound of the rain tapping the window filled the room.
“I-shit Y/N I really don’t know what to do.” Wally released Y/N's hand as he sat up in the bed. The blanket pooled around his hips. Wally was shirtless finding comfort in just wearing gray sweats. He pressed his back against the headboard and Y/N copied his position.
Y/N grabbed Wally’s hand again, running their thumb across the freckled skin of it. Wally smiled at the familiar gesture, a small yet noticeable one.
“W-when I decided to retire, part of the reason was because I thought the world wouldn’t really need me.”
Y/N was going to say something but decided to just let Wally continue. He was wanted, not just needed and Y/N wondered if Wally understood that.
“Don’t get me wrong I loved being Kid Flash but I found comfort in the idea that people would still have the flash around to protect them. And B-Barry was so supportive even though he tried to convince me to stay. I wanted to experience normalcy and figure out where Wally started and Kid Flash ended.”
Wally closed his eyes, taking a shuddering breath.
“I just thought that well Barry’s got it! He was the Flash way before I was KF so he should be fine when I’m gone! I just-“
Wally suddenly threw his head in his hands. A sob escaped his throat and his whole body shook.
Y/N rubbed the back of Wally’s neck and ran their fingers through red locks of hair.
“It’s okay, it’s gonna be okay Wally, just breathe.” Y/N cooed to Wally trying their best to comfort him. It broke their heart to see Wally like this but he needed to do this. Y/N knew that Wally had to let all of this out one way or the other.
And there’s no better way to release grief other than having a good cry. Of course the pain would still be there but this is just a step that has to be taken in order to make it more manageable.
After a few more shuddering breaths Wally looked up at Y/N. He plopped his head on their shoulder and Y/N leaned over to kiss Wally’s forehead.
“I just never thought that in a million years that I would lose him. It was like I just blinked, and he was gone. And now there’s no hero to protect and represent Central City. Sure Jay and Bart could step up to the plate but, I know it’s me.”
Wally sat up and looked Y/N directly in their eyes.
“It has to be me, doesn’t it?”
Wally stated in a whisper almost as if he was telling Y/N a secret.
And Y/N saw something new in Wally’s eyes since the funeral. A shimmer of light but there was also something very prominent in those eyes, and it was fear.
Y/N swiped some of Wally’s hair behind his ears and cradled his face in their hands.
“The world still needs heroes Wally, and right now Central City needs you now more than ever.”
Wally closed his eyes but stayed still in Y/N's embrace.
“But I’m not ready, I mean hell I haven’t even been training lately!” Wally exclaimed some of that humor starting to peek through.
“So we’ll get you ready!” Y/N chuckled. You’re not gonna be alone, I’m gonna be right here with you every step of the way! Wally West, if there is anyone in this world who can be The Flash, it is you!”
Y/N released Wally’s face and stared at him with an intensity in their (e/c) eyes.
“Iris, Bart, Jay, Joan, and Barry Wally we all believe in you and it’s time for you to believe in yourself too. You can do this, I know you can!”
And just like that light behind Wally’s eyes bursted. As if all his energy came back full force. Wally jumped and embraced Y/N squeezing them tightly. The hug knocked Y/N off balance sending the two toppling over the bed.
Wally was plastering kisses wherever he could on Y/N neck and face. Y/N giggled at the action especially because of Wally’s new facial hair tickling them. Wally’s heart swelled at the sound, realizing it had been a long time since he'd heard it.
Wally finally stopped his assault as he sat up to look down at Y/N. This is why Wally loved them so much. Even at his absolute lowest Y/N not only stayed by his side but somehow managed to help Wally get his spark back.
Y/N cracked their eyes open to look at Wally. His now long curly hair framed his face and his smile was finally reaching his eyes again. Wally looked absolutely beautiful.
Wally leaned down and placed a kiss on Y/N lips. Y/N reached up and wrapped their arms around Wally’s neck. Wally placed his hands on Y/N’s waist and lifted the two of them up, placing Y/N in his lap.
The two finally separated trying to catch their breath.
For a moment Wally and Y/N sat in silence just enjoying the others presence. Wally finally broke the silence when he asked Y/N a question.
“Y/N do you..really think I can do this?” Wally’s brows were furrowed in uncertainty.
Y/N placed a small kiss on Wally’s cheek and then a tender one on his lips.
“Babe, I know you can do this.”
Wally’s smirk morphed into a hug smile and he embraced Y/N once more. But abruptly he stood up and sped over to the nightstand that held his communicator.
“I should uh probably go charge this.” Wally smiled sheepishly as he pressed some buttons on the communicator.
Y/N stood up and padded over to the bathroom. In there they rummaged under the sink. When they returned they had a pair of scissors and some hair clippers in their hand.
Wally whirled around in confusion but then ran his hand through his hair. And an expression of realization dawned his face. Wally also rubbed his face and raised an eyebrow.
“Uhh do we have any more razors in there?”
Y/N laughed as they went back to the bathroom. Their heart swelled because even though there was still more work to be done, they were getting their Wally back. And Central City was getting their hero back.
As Wally started cutting his hair in the mirror Y/N looked over towards the window. The rain had finally stopped.

begin Again Chapter-4 (sequel to Marinette Wayne)
Days went by as normally as they could in the Wayne household. The sun cast a warm glow over the elegant dining room as Isabel, Damian and Alfred were gathered for lunch.
During a lull in the conversation, Isabel turned to Damian, her eyes filled with a glimmer of curiosity. "Would you like to accompany me for a walk outside after lunch?". Damian gave a stiff nod in response. "If you insist," he replied tersely.
Deep down, Damian tried to hide the seething resentment that churned within him. It seemed that everyone in the family, even Titus and Alfred the Cat, were open to Isabel. The fact that she had effortlessly integrated herself into their lives grated on him.
As they strolled around the well-cared-for gardens, a true masterpiece of Alfred's meticulous care, Damian couldn't help but finally turn to Lusicina, his gaze intense. "Is there something specific you wanted to talk about, Lusicina?"
Isabel paused for a moment, choosing her words carefully. "How about we sit?" she suggested, gesturing to a clean patch of grass well, every patch was a clean patch but yeah… they sat down. Isabel took a deep breath, her eyes fixed on Damian's. "Look, Damian," she began, her voice earnest. "I'll get straight to the point, just don't interrupt me. I have a reason to believe you are the potential successor to Wayne Enterprises. I want nothing to do with it. The only reason I'm even here is that Uncle J insisted that I had someone to look after me. Okay? I have my own business to look up to. I have my superhero persona to maintain and work on. I want absolutely nothing to do with Wayne Enterprises, the family's complicated history, or honestly anything else related to it. I would have been mad too if somebody tried to uproot my life."
Damian gave her a judgmental look, but Isabel continued, undeterred. "You know what?" she continued, "I'll even sign anything if that's what it takes. I would have disappeared off the face of the globe, but that would have Wayne, revealing everything. The only plus side to this... is that I get to meet you guys. After all, we share half the blood. So, truce?"
The demon's heir’s eyes showed his emotions but for a few blinks they were back to stone. "Very well Lusicina." He conceded, acknowledging the tentative truce.
Isabel shrugged, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. "Thank you. And don't you dare let Wayne get to your head. He is no shining example of maintaining relationships that have always been clear as crystal.” She said with a humorless laugh. “Well, on a lighter note, do update me on the stuff that has been happening around here while I was away. I need to catch up on everything. I mean, the number of Twitter sorry X wars you have started, both in and out of the mask, is astounding."
As evening approached, bRuce, Dick and Tim got back from Wayne Enterprises and well Jason?... best not ask. They entered the grand Wayne Manor, a sprawling estate were greeted by Alfred then at the doorstep, his impeccable demeanor in stark contrast to the chaos that often surrounded the household.
As they shed their coats, Dick couldn't help but ask about Damian and Isabel. "Alfred, where's Damian and Isabel?" he asked.
Alfred's response was curt and to the point. "I believe they went for a stroll in the Manor Gardens."
The mention of Damian and Isabel together had everyone stopping in their tracks, a single thought racing through their heads: "Oh God, was Damian going to try and kill Isabel?" As they bolted towards the garden, they finally came across the two figures. To their surprise, there was no immediate danger in sight. They approached cautiously, their curiosity piqued. Jason couldn't help but whisper. "Holy Shit, what is the demon spawn doing?"
Dick chimed in with a tentative suggestion, "He's smiling...?"
Tim shook his head. "Nah can't be." but squinted his eyes to get a closer look anyway. Bruce, their father, felt a faint grin tugging at his lips, his heart warmed by the sight of his children bonding together. He moved forward silently to listen to their conversation.
Isabel's laughter rang out through the garden. "Really?" she chimed in, her eyes sparkling with mirth.
"Indeed," Damian replied, a hint of a smile on his usually stoic face. "And he proceeded to stare, trying to comprehend and process the information that he had an heir."
Isabel's laughter continued. "So," continued Damian, "what happened in your case?"
"Oh," she began. "My biological mother just dropped me off at the hospital, gave Wayne’s name, rushed out of the gate, when he got there, he took a DNA test, and took me home."
The fact that they were exchanging stories about how they met him was a questionable sign. It was good, Bruce thought, maybe as long as they were bonding and building some semblance of a connection.
Isabel, however, seemed to have sensed their presence. "Anyway," she said with a playful smirk, "Wayne and the gang are here, so I gotta fly. Side note: Keep your phone ready tomorrow at breakfast. I foresee blackmail material in your path." With that, she got up and shouted, "Bye!" as she speed-walked away, leaving them behind.
Slowly, Damian got up and looked Bruce in the eye. "You look quite foolish to send her away, Father." he remarked.
Jason couldn't help but chime in, "That's what I’VE had been screaming." The rest of them shared a collective sigh, and Bruce simply gazed at his daughter's retreating figure, his heart heavy.
The new day dawned over Gotham and the Wayne Manor, a place known for its chaotic and eventful mornings. Isabel strolled into the kitchen, where Tim was busy brewing a cup of coffee. However, it was clear that he wasn't satisfied with the brew. His brow furrowed in frustration as he worked on the coffee maker.
Isabel peered in a bit closer and offered a suggestion, her voice filled with a mischievous twinkle. "Try adding a different, preferably sweet energy drink in it," she suggested casually.
Tim looked up in shock, his eyes widening. "What?"
Isabel pointed at the coffee. "In the coffee," she clarified.
"Okay, let's give it a shot," Tim said with a grin, pun intended.
Isabel couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully. "Oh God, puns are awesome, but only in moderation."
"Of course," Tim replied as he added the energy drink and stirred the concoction. He took a cautious sip and then his eyes went wide with surprise. "This is the nectar of the gods!"
Isabel took the mug from his hands and sampled it herself. "Damn right, this is good!"
Jason, who had been observing this experiment with growing horror, was ready to pop his eyes out. "holy fucki** Chri---"
"Language master Jason, " Alfred chided.
Isabel and Tim turned to him in unison. "What?"
Damian, who had been quietly observing the scene, proceeded to bang his head on the table. "Not another Drake."
Bruce directed his questioning glare at Tim. "When was the last time you slept, Tim?"
Tim nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. "Don't know and don't care."
Bruce sighed, clearly concerned, but before he could say anything, Isabel chimed in with empathy. "I remember that stage. I once went for six days without crashing, based solely on coffee and sheer willpower."
Tim turned to her, a glimmer of hope shining in his eyes. "Really? How do you do it?"
Isabel gave him a cryptic smile. "Charmed coffee."
Taking a page from the lessons he'd learned from Dick and Isabel, Tim turned on the cute puppy eyes. "Can you give me the recipe—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Dick placed his hand over Tim's mouth, muffling him.
Damian sighed from the side. "Don't encourage him, Isabel."
Isabel tilted her head and asked, "Why not? Just because you can't handle it doesn't mean we can't."
Jason pleaded, "His self-care habits are going to get worse, Pixie."
Tim, who had finally freed himself of Dick's grasp. "I DON'T CARE!" He sided with Isabel in his quest for the secret coffee recipe.
Alfred walked into the kitchen, his ever-watchful eye taking in the scene. "Young masters and miss, what exactly is going on here?"
In a chorus of frustration, Dick, Jason, and Damian blurted out, "Isa/Pixie/Isabel i's just like Tim/Replacement/Drake!"
Taking a total 180-degree turn on the topic of the conversation, Isabel turned to Bruce. "Doesn't matter right now. Wayne, I have a few questions for you. What are your current policies on metahumans and magical users in Gotham?"

Chapter Three: Y/N Stark Y/N Barnes Y/N Rogers
"Ma'am you need to step back-"
"Or what? What are you going to do to me?"
"Ma'am, please don't make me call-"
"Who? The Avengers? That's what I'm asking you to do, don't you understand?" you read the security guard's name tag, "Harold."
"My friends call me Happy."
"Well Harold I'm asking you to call them, otherwise I'll go up there myself."
"Ma'am I'll have to ask you not to do that," he stated, extending his arm out to block you from the elevator entrance.
"You know I remember you, right? How could I forget Uncle Happy? You would always sneak me an extra scoop of ice cream when my dad wasn't looking," you half heartily laughed.
"Listen, I don't know who you think you are, but-"
"How rude of me! I didn't reintroduce myself. Name's Y/N. Y/N Rogers. Of course you knew me as Y/N Stark. I also went by Y/N Barnes for a while there..." you trailed off.
"Y/N?" he questioned, near tears.
"Hey Uncle Happy," you smiled.
Happy pulled you into a deep hug, "It's so good to see you."
"You believe me? Just like that?" you questioned, pulling away from the hug though your uncle still kept you close.
Happy reached up to dry the tears you hadn't realized you has shed, "I don't know how any of this is possible," he said, "but you look so much like your dad."
Now you cried, falling into Happy's arms once again. It was so good to be held by him after all these years.
"Friday, call everyone. Get everyone down here now!"
"Yes, Mr. Hogan," Friday replied.
---
Natasha Romanoff arrived first, followed quickly by a rapidly recovering Clint Barton.
"Hey Happy, we were just about to go grab some breakfast, is everything okay?" Natasha began, before seeing you, "Who's this?"
You smiled, "Natasha I take it?"
"You know my name it's only fair I know yours," she smiled coldly. You didn't blame her. After all, she was a spy. She didn't like not knowing things.
"I'm-"
"Y/N?"
You were cut off my a voice you'd recognize anywhere. You turned your head to see the owner of said voice, "Hey Stevie," you cried.
You know those cheesy rom coms where the two main characters are reunited after not being together for a long time? They run towards each other at full speed, but everything seems like it's moving in slow motion? Well this was like that. Except it was happening to you in real time.
When your and Steve's bodies collided you simply embraced each other, falling to the ground. He sobbed, you sobbed. He kissed your cheek and whispered, "You're here. I thought you were dead. I thought I'd lost you."
"I know, baby," you said, drying his tears with the pads of your fingers, "I'll explain everything I promise, but for now I need to see-"
"Who's that?" you heard his voice before you saw his face. Honestly, he looked terrible. Probably barley eaten in weeks. He definitely hadn't slept aside from the quick nod-off here and there.
Steve helped you to your feet, but before you could address your father, he spoke, "Nat, Clint, Thor, Tony, Bruce...this is Y/N...this is my wife."
You offered a small awkward wave towards the Avengers, all of whom had to pick up their jaws from the floor...all except your dad.
"Did you say?"
"Y/N, I know," Steve said, "I thought the same thing when I met your daughter, but it's not possible I mean-"
"Actually," you cut him off, looking to Steve apologetically, "I may or may not have left out some details about my past," you said, squeezing his hand and looking to Happy for support. Happy nodded, encouraging you to go on.
"Are you saying?" Tony spoke, taking a step forward. You let go of Steve's hand and met your father in the middle of the room, "Hey dad," you smiled.
Tony immediately broke down, embracing you and kissing your forehead. You cried too. After all, you never thought you'd see him again and you had so much to tell him. To tell both of them.
---
Any plans made for the day went forgotten as four out of the six Avengers sat in uncomfortable, rather uncertain silence in the living room outside Tony and Bruce's lab. Although they could see through the glass into the room that held you and their two teammates, the soundproofing was enough to keep them at bay. Your privacy didn't satisfy their curiosity, however.
Eventually, the silence was broken by the ding of the elevator and the doors sliding open.
Thor, Bruce, Natasha, and Clint sat on the edge of their seats, anticipating who could walk in next and make an earth shattering reappearance, but it was just Happy who had come to check in.
"Don't look so disappointed, guys," Happy half heartily laughed, trying to lighten the mood.
"Sorry," they grumbled almost in unison.
"Any updates?" Happy asked, unable to contain his own curiosity.
Clint shook his head no, "They've been in there for so long, I wonder what they're even saying to each other."
---
"You know they're all staring at us, right?" you asked the room, referring to the four Avengers and now Happy who sat outside the lab.
Your father ignored your question, "Capsicle here woke up months ago. If you were on the same plane why didn't you come find me - come find us sooner?"
Before you could answer, Steve cut in, "How did you even survive the crash? I know I did because of the serum, but you - you're not a super solider."
"And how did you even fall into Steve's time in the first place?"
"How about why didn't you tell me who you really were?"
"Or why -"
"Guys! One question at a time!" you shouted, but you were only met with blank looks. You sighed, "Look I know I owe you - both of you - a ton of answers, but for any of this to make sense, I have to start at the beginning."
Tony took a seat, "I'm all ears."
Steve nodded, sitting next to him, "Whenever you're ready."
You sighed again, beginning your tale, "I don't remember that day, you know? You told me I was shot...disappeared in a cloud of green, but all I remember is the night before. You were tucking me into bed," you smiled, gesturing to your father, "I was thinking about what I should wear to meet your friends of all things. I never thought my life could change so quickly."
When you woke up out of time you didn't recognize Steve, how could you? You had only ever seen pictures of a fully grown Steve Rogers. Even then, you were too young to truly understand who he was. You only knew him as Captain America, one of daddy's Avenger friends. How would you have pieced all of this together at such a young age?
Of course, you did eventually figure it out. As Steve grew up, you with him, he began to look more and more like those pictures you had seen hanging up in the house. That one from the first Christmas after the Battle of New York. The one where he was (probably forced to be) wearing a reindeer antler headband and smiling a carefree smile. Although he was most likely anything but carefree.
Then came the serum. You'd fall in love with Steve Rogers time and time again serum or no serum, but damn if that wasn't just a fun bonus. The confidence, the muscles, even the -
"You're getting off topic," Tony cut you off while rubbing his temples as if to clear an image from his brain.
Steve just blushed and you cleared your throat continuing, "Sorry..."
When Steve became Captain America, you knew it wasn't long before your stories or destinies...well call it what you want: you knew it wasn't going to be long before you were ripped apart. Taken on your own journeys down your own paths. Part of you did hope your presence would disrupt the timeline enough to keep you together even if it meant he was never chosen for the super solider program. You could grow old together, but fate had other plans.
Steve was meant for greatness. He was meant to get his second chance to be a real life superhero. You loved him too much to take that away from him. You had to let him fight those battles...even crash that plane.
You knew what he would've said, the he'd of chosen you over all the glory that came with being a super hero in another time...over his second chance, but you wouldn't force him to make that decision. No, you'd never give him the option whether he deserved it or not.
Steve woke up first when the plane was eventually found. At the time, it didn't look like you were going to make it. So Nick Fury, being Nick Fury and not wanting to give Steve false hope, told him you were dead. After all, it was only a matter of time before you were.
You woke up in the aftermath of The Battle of New York, shocking every doctor and nurse tending to you. Director Fury took a jet to the hospital you were being held at the second he got the call. He had to see it with is own eyes to believe it.
But there you were: healthy as ever...young as ever. The ice paused your aging just like it had Steve's. Everyone, including you, was perplexed. How could you have lived? You weren't a superhuman.
Nick Fury wanted to study you. He ran test after test trying to get to the bottom of why you lived.
Of course, they all came up with the same result.
"I'm pregnant," you said, "Somehow the serum running through this baby's veins was enough to keep the both of us alive all this time," you smiled, unconsciously touching your soon to be growing belly, "He or she saved my life. They gave us our second chance."
Those tests brought up something else though too.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Nick Fury had asked, storming into your room one day.
"Tell you what?" you asked, although you knew exactly what.
"Y/N Stark? Your father is Tony Stark. You've been missing two weeks. How are you here? How are you not six?" Fury yelled.
You stood up from where you were seated, poking him in the chest to accentuate your point. "It's Mrs. Rogers to you. I didn't tell you because my past is none of your business, Sir," you spat, "now you promised me that if I let you run your little tests on me, you would take me to my husband, Do you have any intention of making good on that promise? Or should I take myself and my super solider baby and go?"
"That baby is the only key we have to unlocking Dr. Erkstine's formula," he calmly explained, although he was anything but calm.
"My child is not your lab rat, Fury!" you screamed, "I have nightmares. I wake up in a cold sweat screaming for Steve. I have ever since I woke up from that ice and you know it. You've been keeping us apart for some reason other than wanting to study my baby and I want to know why."
Nick sighed, "Steve, he's a good solider. If you go back to him now he'll become...distracted. We can't have that. Not with the new threats we're facing everyday."
"Screw you, Director Fury," you said, storming out of the room. You'd find your husband on your own.
So, you did. You found Steve and in the process found Tony too. Of course you knew you couldn't be reunited with your husband and not your father, but you had hoped to put off the latter, in all honesty. After all, you weren't the same little six year old girl he had lost such a short time ago. You had lived an entire life without him.
You were forced to make decisions you know he would've shielded you from if he could've. But, at the end of the day, you were a solider too. You were a killer. Nothing could change the past.
Not that you wanted to stay away from your father forever, you loved and missed him more than anything, but you felt that you didn't deserve to be loved by him anymore. He wanted his child back...not the broken young woman you had become.
In any case, you were here now.
"Well...someone say something," you prompted the two men.
"You're pregnant?" Steve spoke up, tears of joy falling from his eyes.
You smiled a thin smile, nodding your head, "I'm pregnant," you confirmed.
Steve stood to meet you, scooping you up in his arms and kissing your cheeks, "We're going to be parents," he cried.
Finally, you and Steve pulled apart, though he still kept you close, and you both turned to look at your father.
"Dad...?" you tried out the name again.
"Two weeks ago I had a six year old. Now I'm going to be a grandfather?"
You nodded, "Yes, but -"
"I'm sorry," he cut you off, "I can't. I just can't," he said, storming out of the room.
The four Avengers and Happy pretended to have not been watching you all when he walked through the room where they sat, but he ignored them anyways, entering his bedroom and shutting the door so loudly that everyone who heard it flinched just a little.
"He'll come around," Steve tried to reassure you, squeezing your hand,
"I know," you said, drying your tears with the back of your hand. You didn't know if he ever would though.

Honestly, Misha wasn’t bad as Harvey in the pilot of Gotham Knights. In fact, it’s a mildly promising depiction of Harvey as a good man stuck in a tough situation, where he’s Bruce Wayne’s close friend and “Uncle” (cough) to Bruce’s adopted son, the painfully bland Turner Hayes.
My main concern is that they’re setting him up to be like Villefort from The Count of Monte Cristo, a two-faced (hurr hurr) prosecutor who knows that the lead is innocent and still decides to throw him to the wolves to advance his own career. Hopefully they’re going to keep him conflicted between the heroes and the Court of Owls (yeah, it’s the fucking Court, ugh), which will lead to him trying to help the kids only to end up getting scarred.
As for the rest of the show, eh. It’s not even CW quality, it’s more like a throwback to the days of The WB. I’m getting a real Birds of Prey vibe from this pilot, right down to the feeling that it may get cancelled before too long. Hopefully Harvey gets to be interesting and not just a cop. I mean, he’s D.A., but he’s being written as just another cop, which isn’t exactly gonna win him any fans.
Also, this has Duela, whom Harvey didn’t recognize at all. Unless there’s a twist coming, are you seriously telling me you have Harvey and Duela together in a show about parental angst (Steph is here, and Cluemaster’s going to show up, in addition to the Turner/Bruce drama), and NOT have them be related?!

5e Pablo Simon Bolivar, El Brujo Especial build (Ash vs Evil Dead)
Tumblr media
(Image from thedeaditeslayer.com)
undefined
youtube
I’ve really been getting into the Evil Dead franchise after Ash vs Evil Dead was released on Netflix, and that interest only further increased after playing Evil Dead: The Game. I’m not going to preach the qualities of the TV show nor the game to you and simply say it as I see it: Evil Dead is an iconic of horror with Bruce Campbell’s iconic role of Ash Williams affecting generations of horror enthusiasts and action enjoyers.
The Evil Dead IP has lasted for so long, stretched through so many mediums, and affected so many aspects of popular culture to the point that chainsaws in zombie media go hand-and-hand. This is why I’m going to do my best to release a Dungeons & Dragons build based on one character from The Evil Dead franchise over the next 5 weeks of October, in honor of the franchise and the spirit of Halloween. (Although knowing me I’m probably going to miss a week lol.)
And who else to start with but Pablo? I absolutely loved the supporting cast of Ash vs and I honestly haven’t met a single person who didn’t enjoy the performance of Pablo. Ray Santiago puts so much personality into the character and one could honestly argue that Pablo goes through more of a character arch than Ash himself in the show. I mean, I’m not going to get into that argument, but one thing’s for certain: without the help of Pablito’s El Brujo and his amulets the Chosen One wouldn’t have gotten far. It also helps that Pablo is easily my second most played character in Evil Dead: The Game, right behind TV Show Ash (IE Leader Ash.)
Anyways: Pablo’s a lovable support character who goes through way too much for his own good, and we’re all happy you’re still around buddy. Goddamn it’s going to be so hard to avoid accidentally saying spoilers, assuming calling Pablo “El Brujo Especial” isn’t already a spoiler... Seriously just go watch Ash vs on Netflix.
GOALS
Pablito’s Fish & Chips - Pablo isn’t just some guy who works at an electronics store: he’s got a lotta brains to him. He event built Ash a new hand!
A Foot in Each Door - It sure was nice of your uncle to give you an amulet that makes you invisible to the evil dead. Pretty helpful thing to have!
El Brujo Especial - Leave the beer to Ash and Cheryl: Pablo uses the magical guidance of his uncle to protect himself and his allies.
RACE
Pablo is a human, and trust me: I wish I could reasonably make him something else. But at least Variant Human will carry us to some extent. Increase both your Charisma and your Dexterity by 1, the History skill to see if you can recall anything Ruby might’ve mentioned, and speaking of which I’m sure the Necronomicon gifted you some knowledge of Abyssal with the time you two spent together.
For your Feat of choice I’m actually going to suggest the Inspiring Leader feat! Pablo does his fair share of inspiring for Ash but the main reason I suggested Inspiring Leader is because it lets you play support some more, passing out temporary hitpoints at the end of a Short or Long Rest and generally being an asset to the team. Plus it lets you roleplay as Ray Santiago which is a plus in my eyes.
ABILITY SCORES
15; CHARISMA - Everyone loves Pablo. He’s your little buddy!
14; INTELLIGENCE - As stated above Pablo is the brains of the group. We need it both for roleplay and to multiclass.
13; DEXTERITY - Evil Dead leans on the “dodge out of the way seconds before you’re hit” style of horror. 13 DEX is also enough to get the maximum bonus from Medium armor along with the +1 from our race.
12; CONSTITUTION - Look: there was a point where you literally died and came back to life. Stuff like that will give you some hardiness.
10; STRENGTH - Pablo may be a big strong vagina but we unfortunately need everything else more. Don’t worry: we’ll get a way to use a spiked bat, although you won’t be using a rusty chain at any point.
8; WISDOM - Wisdom is needed to keep a level head, and it’s not that Pablo can’t do that. Just that when evil descends and the dead rise it’s pretty hard to keep calm in the face of demons from hell.
BACKGROUND
Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft is going to be a good friend to me during this month. One cool thing about Van Richten’s is that there’s a bunch of generic background traits that don’t come with specific skills or equipment but can still be used for roleplay, and one of those generic backgrounds is the Trauma Survivor background. Put simply Pablo isn’t really the “Haunted One” type but this works quite well for “holy shit demons started murdering people in the streets and this cool old dude is a prophesized hero of legend.”
The Trauma Survivor makes you a bit of a resident expert in whatever shit you’ve dealt with, and in Pablo’s case it would be deadites. Folks know to ask you for advice on what to do and what not to do, and if needed you can find a place for someone to hide out and maybe get an exorcism done. Your uncle didn’t exactly tell you how to open your mind and escape evil, but you can probably find someone willing to take you on a drug trip.
As for your skills take proficiency with Athletics (you’ll need it if something grabs onto you) and Survival because... well yeah duh. You could also grab another language (Infernal fits to some extent) and another tool, which I’m going to use as an excuse to grab Land Vehicle proficiency because Pablo should always be the one driving. (Which is why I never drive as Pablo because I suck at driving in video games.) You could take more tools or more languages as you see fit, I suppose. I won’t tell you what to do.
Starting background equipment? You can figure that out with your DM. If all-else fails just copy-paste the Clan Crafter background or something.

THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - ARTIFICER 1
Starting off as an Artificer before you get in-touch with evil. You can grab proficiency in Arcana and Medicine here too.
Your time at ValueStop helped you learn some basic tech tricks that you can manifest in Magical Tinkering. The tricks you can do are pretty small and junky but they may be helpful in a pinch if you use your wits. But if you need something more reliable it would be better to talk about Spellcasting: You can learn two cantrips from the Artificer spell list like Guidance to help El Jefe or anyone else who might need it, and Mending. For Duct Tape.
You can also prepare a number of spells equal to your Intelligence modifier plus half your Artificer level (rounded down), and while you can swap them out on a Long Rest you can only prepare two of them currently. So like, just take Cure Wounds and Detect Magic for now, really. Basic medical knowledge and the ability to sense danger is in fact more than enough to survive many horror movies at first.
Oh and as far as combat goes your best bet currently is probably to stick to a “gun” (IE a crossbow) for now. We didn’t take any damaging cantrips but your “firearms” (crossbow) will do more at this low level anyways, considering that you have the same hit chance anyways. Don’t worry you’ll be getting something better later on but these first few levels will admittedly be on the weaker end.
LEVEL 2 - ARTIFICER 2
Second level Artificers can make artificial hands and other Infusions. You can prepare 4 infusions known and make two of them per day, although you might find some use in swapping them out. Anyways I’d suggest improving your firearms in the form of an Enhanced Arcane Focus and a Repeating Shot weapon, and improving your defenses with a Mind Sharpener and... the Enhanced Defense infusion. Remember that much like Pablo you can share your intellect with your friends, who might get more use out of your inventions than you! And you’re welcome to grab other infusions if you think they’d be more useful.
Speaking of useful: another spell known! Feather Fall is good in-case of an emergency if you’re thrown off a building or your car goes off a cliff or something.
LEVEL 3 - ARTIFICER 3
3rd level Artificers get to choose their specialty, and it may strike you as odd but Artillerists get to provide their team with amulets, and provide themselves with guns! Along with getting proficiency with Woodcarver’s Tools and learning both the Shield and Thunderwave spells (one of which is far more useful than the other) you get the ability to make an Eldritch Cannon!
You can either make a Small or Tiny object (but it would be more in-character to make a tiny one) that you can activate as a Bonus Action. The Force Ballista will fire a shot at a single target, the Flamethrower is... well, a flamethrower that does AoE damage in a short cone in front of it, but the Protector “canon” is the main option you’ll be going for. When you activate it as a bonus action everyone within 10 feet of the turret will get Temporary Hitpoints equal to a d8 plus your Intelligence. Basically this is how Amulets work in Evil Dead: The Game and it was kinda too perfect for Pablo to provide shields to his team. There’s some other nuance to the turrets that you can figure out by reading the subclass feature, but all you need to know is that you’re usually going to be providing shields to the party and also sometimes get the option to shoot with your canon-gun... assuming you can actually hit since its aim is based on your Intelligence.
And to top it off you can make yourself the The Right Tool for the Job with an hour of work. I’ll tell you right now that jerry-rigging a set of lockpicks (IE Thieves’ Tools) is probably your best bet with this ability, but if you think there are other tools that will help you this ability will let you grab them as you need them.
Tumblr media

LEVEL 4 - WARLOCK 1
Now that you’ve handed in your resignation letter (reason for leaving: boss got possessed by a demon) it’s time to embrace your roots and channel the magic of drug trips. How? With the magic of the Archfey, obviously! As an action you can force each creature within a 10-foot cube originating from you to make a Wisdom save or be charmed or frightened by your Fey Presence. Either up the charm or channel evil through you as necessary, but you can only do so once per Short or Long Rest.
More importantly however you get Pact Magic: you can learn two cantrips from the Warlock list like Mage Hand to grab things in dangerous locations more safely, and Eldritch Blast to blast your guns with eldritch power instead of just regular old firearm power.
You also get Pact Magic slots which come back on a Short Rest, unlike regular spell slots that come back on a Long Rest. You can use them to cast your Artificer spells, or some Warlock spells... I’m going to be honest: the only 1st level spell I really want is Hex. Other than that you can take something like Hellish Rebuke I guess, but we’ll be ignore the spells you can learn until you can get better ones.
LEVEL 5 - WARLOCK 2
2nd level Warlocks get Eldritch Invocations like Devil’s Sight to see with your dumb human eyes, and Agonizing Blast to agonize your blasts. Yeah you could also learn more spells, but we’re going to wait for...
LEVEL 6 - WARLOCK 3
Third level Warlocks get to choose their Pact Boon and I mean, we’re kinda forced to take Pact of the Talisman for amulets, aren’t we? Currently all it does is provide a d4 when the wearer fails an ability check, and the benefit can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses at the end of a Long Rest. But what’s cool about the amulet talisman is that you can give it to someone else who might need the bonus. And additionally it stacks with Guidance, which can be pretty big at these low levels.
Much more importantly however your Pact Slots are now at a 2nd level, meaning you can learn 2nd level Warlock spells! Grab Misty Step to get away from danger, Mirror Image to protect yourself, and Hold Person to keep deadites in place! (Remember: Deadites are humans possessed by demons, meaning that they’re technically still humanoids. If you’re dealing with a demon like Ruby however she counts as a Fiend, and won’t be affected by Hold Person. Unless she can be affected by Hold Person because she’s a Half-Demon? Better not to try unless desperate really...)
Tumblr media
(Image from cupofmoe.com)
LEVEL 7 - WARLOCK 4
4th level Warlocks get their first Ability Score Improvement (finally by total level 7) and if you haven’t picked up on we’re going to mainly be going down the Warlock route, so more Charisma would benefit us more overall.
You could also learn another spell but truthfully we’re going to be replacing them with 3rd level spells soon, so better not to. You can grab the Prestidigitation cantrip though, to show off your eldritch knowledge with some basic parlor tricks.
LEVEL 8 - WARLOCK 5
5th level Warlocks get another Eldritch Invocation, and to be invisible to demons (and most other things) grab the One with Shadows invocation. It only works if you keep still and keep in the darkness, but invisibility from evil is great to stay alive!
You can also learn 3rd level spells now! I’d probably drop Mirror Image to grab Hypnotic Pattern (for now), Counterspell (for good), and Blink from the Archfey list, which will be a far more effective defensive spell than Mirror Image. (Although it doesn’t upscale so we will ditch that too with time.)
LEVEL 9 - WARLOCK 6
6th level Archfey Warlocks can turn invisible to gather more amulets, as Misty Escape lets you use your reaction to teleport away from danger and turn invisible until the start of your next turn, refreshing on a Short or Long Rest. Use this if you think you’re in the line of fire to get behind Ash.
Additionally you can learn another spell, and if you think we’re going to skip out on this level to get better 4th level spells to cast with your Warlock slots then you’re goddamn right we are.
Tumblr media
(Artwork from Evil Dead: The Game)
LEVEL 10 - WARLOCK 7
7th level Warlocks get another Eldritch Invocation and it’s time for your amulet to not be completely worthless thanks to Protection of the Talisman. When the person wearing your amulet talisman fails a saving throw, they can add a d4 to the roll and potentially turn it into a success. They can only do it a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per Long Rest, but the added protection can be great to keep your party’s El Jefe alive.
Additionally you can now learn 4th level spells: drop Misty Step for Dimension Door as the greater distance traveled far outweighs the use of a full action, and you also might want to drop Hypnotic Pattern for Greater Invisibility from the Archfey list, to keep hidden while you blast away deadites. Heck you might even want to replace Blink with something like Banishment too. Honestly for the most part I just want to wait until we get the big boy 5th level spells to play with.
LEVEL 11 - WARLOCK 8
8th level Warlocks get another Ability Score Improvement so it’s finally time to cap off your Charisma for the best old magic to protect from the worst old evils.
You could also learn more spells but again: going to wait for...
LEVEL 12 - WARLOCK 9
9th level Warlocks get another Eldritch Invocation, and Whispers of the Grave is very in-character, can be very useful, and is a lot of fun! Theres a lot of good info you can get from the dead: your dead uncle, your dead self, the dead that wrote the book of the dead... Just gotta know who to listen to.
Speaking of listening you now have 5th level spells, meaning all the spells known we skipped out on can now be filled up! So I’d suggest you take the following:
Hold Monster is like Hold Person, but better. (But it does affect less targets, so if you think Hold Person will work then use that instead.)
Dominate Person is like Hold Person, but better because you can get them to serve the forces of good instead of the forces of evil. (No it’s not possession shut up.)
Mislead can be good if you need to sneak around to grab Ash’s shit... again. It will also give the demons something to try to attack while you gather more supplies.
And Teleportation Circle can be useful if you need an escape plan.
The last two spells were added to the Warlock list via Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, so if you don’t see them listed on the Warlock spell list that’s why. Just figured I’d mention it here since it would be kinda weird to mention it alongside those two spells.
LEVEL 13 - WARLOCK 10
10th level Warlocks have seen enough evil to avoid being possessed. Or well, avoid being charmed at least. Beguiling Defenses gives you immunity to the charmed condition and when another creature attempts to charm you, you can use your reaction to attempt to turn the charm back on that creature. They need to make Wisdom save against your spell DC or be... well, charmed by you for a minute! (Unless they take damage.) Considering that you should probably have at least a +1 focus from your Artificer abilities any deadite attempting to persuade you will have to think twice. Ash though...
Tumblr media
You can’t grab any more spells yet, but you can get one last cantrip. I’d suggest
Mind Sliver in case you find an armored deadite with a weak mind, or if you just want to make it easier for your teammates to use magic against your enemies.
(Image from Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3, Episode 5)
LEVEL 14 - WARLOCK 11
11th level Warlocks get their 6th level Mystic Arcanum, which looks like a spell slot and acts like a spell slot but isn’t actually a spell slot. The difference is that you can’t upcast any of your Warlock Pact Magic, and you can’t upcast your Mystic Arcanum with higher level slots that you’ll get.
With that explanation out of the way there’s a lot of good 6th level Mystic Arcanum options but... look, Tasha's Otherworldly Guise is just fun. You can finally go in with a bat (or a sword, or a rusty chain) and hit some deadites very hard, getting an extra attack, more AC, some damage resistances and immunity to conditions, and flight! (Because why not.) Sure maybe Eyebite or Soul Cage would be more useful but even the support should upgrade melee damage eventually.
Speaking of more damage: Wall of Light does a good bit of radiant damage and can also be good to blind deadites and generally hide behind while your friends prepare to face off against evil. And if you think you’re not going to cast it well, you just got an extra pact slot little buddy! Congratulations!
LEVEL 15 - WARLOCK 12
12th level Warlocks get another Ability Score Improvement and seeing as your Charisma is maxed out increasing your Intelligence is an option? You could also alternatively grab some feats: I personally opted for War Caster to keep concentration up for longer and to also be able to shoot any anyone who runs past you, instead of just trying to stab them with a knife or something.
You also get more Eldritch Invocations! It’s hard to justify Ascendant Step as anything other than magic, but being able to slowly float around is useful for transportation, evading deadites, or just reaching things in high places.
LEVEL 16 - WARLOCK 13
13th level casters get 7th level spells but you’re special so you get Mystic Arcanum instead. There’s a lot of fun options to take: Crown of Stars, Etherealness, Plane Shift, Power Word Pain... but Forcecage is probably the most useful overall. If you need to keep a particularly nasty deadite in place with (almost) no questions asked? That’s what you have Forcecage for. But even then the other spells I mentioned have their use and you should give them a glance if interested.
Dream is perhaps less relevant, but it will let you send messages to whom it may concern as needed while they sleep. Sure this is maybe more of your uncle’s thing, but El Brujo Especial can afford to borrow some tricks.
LEVEL 17 - WARLOCK 14
Speaking of your uncle: wasn’t it cool when he put you in a coma and forced you to drink from weird bowls alongside a naked lady? Well Dark Delirium will let you force anyone you want into that trial, just like they’re in a hit asymmetrical multiplayer game! As an action you can choose a creature you can see within 60 feet. They must make a Wisdom saving throw or become charmed / frightened of you (your choice for which one), lasting for 1 minute or until your concentration is broken (like a spell.) The effect also ends early if the creature takes any damage.
Until this illusion ends, the creature thinks it is lost in a misty realm, the appearance of which you choose. The creature can see and hear only itself, you, and the illusion. So basically they’ll be lost in their visions unless someone makes you snap them out of it, or if they get hit. But it’s a good way to get some alone time with someone and to potentially lock them down if their friends aren’t willing to punch them awake. A sledgehammer to the face tends to be a good cure for possession.

LEVEL 18 - WARLOCK 15
15th level Warlocks get their 8th level Mystic Arcanum, and unfortunately unlike the previous levels your options are... kinda trash? I guess Dominate Monster fits the best, although Feeblemind works decently enough as well. Much like before you can also pick up another 5th level spell and... I dunno. Planar Binding works well enough if you find a demon that you want to surround in salt for Ash to talk to.
But the far more notable thing is that you now have access to 15th level Warlock Invocations! For one I would replace One with Shadows with Shroud of Shadow which is all-around a better invocation. And Visions of Distant Realms will let you summon another eyeball out of another asymmetrical multiplayer game to scout ahead and see if any deadites are in any of the rooms ahead. Maybe you’re seeing through an old friend; who knows?
Witch Sight is also a really strong invocation that’s probably far less situational than some of the other ones you have. All the other ones you have fit in-character so I’m not going to tell you to replace any of them, but it stands to reason that higher level abilities are stronger.
LEVEL 19 - WARLOCK 16
16th level Warlocks get one last Ability Score Improvement, and honestly by total level 19 you can pick just about anything you want and it’ll still be good. Get more Constitution, more Intelligence, or a feat for all it matters. It won’t matter if you’re dead by dawn.
LEVEL 20 - WARLOCK 17
We went all the way to level 17 (instead of grabbing more ASIs that you honestly don’t need) because you can get 9th level spells at level 17! Or well, Mystic Arcanum anyways. There’s a lot of options that fit in-character but in my opinion Imprisonment is the ultimate choice to seal away evil forever. Dunno how many hit die Ruby has, yet alone the Book of the Dead, but Imprisonment proves that money can solve all your problems.
Oh and you can learn another spell but by total level 20 you can honestly pick whatever you want. I guess if I have to make a suggestion you can take Synaptic Static? I dunno. But the true ultimate prize is finally having a whole 4 spell slots!
FINAL BUILD
PROS
Arcane Knowledge - Artificer levels surprisingly pull their weight despite your (relatively) lacking intelligence. Proficiency in Constitution saving throws is universally useful, infusions are constantly strong even late-game, and the Arcane Canon gives you a constant use of your bonus action (mostly to shield your allies) as long as you’re good at hiding your fancy gadgets.
Fear No Evil - I’m going to be honest: the last 3 levels of Warlock are kinda worthless, so for all intents and purposes purposes you are a full caster (even if your spell slots are weird) with a strong yet situational 9th level spell and plenty of other strong magics to keep the dead at bay.
Infernal Camouflage - Along with free invisibility being very strong you have plenty of tools to evade evil and protect both yourself and your allies. Teleporting out of danger and turning invisible will keep you alive for awhile, and your amulets can keep your chosen ally (or yourself) safe.
CONS
Wicked Fast - Warlock is a Warlock and Warlock has no spell slots. You have strong tricks up your sleeve yes, and being able to replenish your spell slots after a Short Rest is very strong. But you still have a limited number of shots before you’ll be forced into Eldrtich Blasting.
Weak-Minded - Playing an Artificer with middling Intelligence is obviously not a good idea. If you opt to use any canon other than the shield generator it’ll essentially be useless due to your low hit chance, and your low-level spell slots are incredibly limited and will often be used to either make more canons or cast Shield.
Kandarian Fury - Basically all your stats other than Charisma are kinda bad? While this does mean your magic will be good anything else you try to do will be middling at best: getting grappled will be a tough challenge if you can’t cast Dimension Door, and any skill checks will probably be left to the Leaders of the group. Not to mention that your Wisdom is pretty bad, leaving you quite open to being frightened or possessed.
But you’re not the Chosen One, you’re the one chosen to help the Chosen One! That might not make any sense but what matters is that you’re El Brujo Especial and have all the tools you could ever need to vanquish evil for good. Be the big strong vagina everyone knows you can be and teach them to fear no evil, because evil should fear you! And if you ever find that you’re having trouble do know that a good night’s sleep with a face mask can always help put your head in the game.

Spider-Man 2 Liveblog
Tumblr media
Considered by many to be the best Spider-Man movie, if not the best Superhero movie. Will I agree? Time will tell. I’m not sure if I saw as many bits and pieces of this movie as a kid as I did the first one. Like the first one, I didn’t see it all the way though until High School. I look forward to my revisit
I love seeing the movie recapped with the artwork. It’s somthing I’d like to see more movie do.
This is definity the Spider-Man movie that, showcases the realistic stress of being a young adult struggling to get by.
“He stole that guy’s Pizza” Classic line
Pizza being free if it’s late is a really dumb idea. I can’t belive it was an actual buiness practice
Sam Rami’s The Lizard would’ve been cool. Ah, well
People are really unempathic towards Peter’s Stress. Honestly that’s realisitc. The stress of 20 somthings is never taken seriously.
Somtimes you have to force someone to accept help
Dealing with the anniversy of a death. I’ve been there
The landlord is an odd character. I’m not sure how well he’s aged
Alfred Molina‘s Otto’s a great fatherly character.
I find it facinating how different every adaptation of Doctor Octopus is. This version is one of my favorites of course
His and his wife have great chemisty. It’s so sad what happens to her
And Peter takes the competly wrong lesson from that conversation. Never liked that part of the movie or character
Very 2000s song, but also very fitting
I love the weird extras in these movies.
There’s Bruce Campbell again
The joke about the lady singing the Spider-Man theme is another 2000s moments that didn’t age well
The losing powers subplot is fantastic. I like how it doesn’t really need a suficticated explaimation. It also brings back the tension web fluid usually brings
Love the elevator gag
I do like seeing how Otto would go on to react to the Arc Reactor
Love the effects with the arms. Doctor Octopus’s arms are why he’s my childhood favorite Spider-Man villian
The AI element is odd though
The surgery of Doctor Octopus is a very effectivly scary scene
“Guy named Otto Octavious ends up with 8 arms? What are the odds” Twitter would’ve hated that line back then. I think it’s funny
Love the Doctor Strange refence. And that the director went on to make a Dr Strange movie
The classic laugh and “Your Serious?” Some people misuse that joke, but it’s still a classic
I love how tragic Doc Ock is
Why are the arms evil? How would they have been programmed that way.
I love the shot of Doctor Octopus rising
Love the bank robbery scene. It’s a classic
First quip of the movie
2nd Stan Lee cameo. They’re still subtle
Love that Aunt May helps.
Peter quoting poetry is so cring. He need to properly apologize
We actually get a good look at what Peter seeing MJ’s show means to her. I feel really bad for her
Doctor Octupus building a machine and smoking a cigar. A classic moment
Why doesn’t Spider-Man see a therapist? I guess thearapy wasn’t as accepted back then as it was now
The Spider-Man No more scene. It’s so effective
Peter can be creepy at moments. It’s realisitc, but it’s still awkard
Peter avoids helping 3 times, and each time gets worse and worse. It’s really effective, and shows how being Spider-Man is somthing he has to do
Aunt May blames herself to. I love how Peter gets clouser for his guilt about Uncle Ben’s death
So the butler was in the 2nd movie
Yeah, even if nobody knows Peter is Spider-Man, Peter loved ones get put in danger because of the two’s connections
People theorized Aunt May knows who Spider-Man is. I don’t think she did earlier in the movie. But at this point, I think she found out. Maybe after he confessed what happened to Uncle Ben
Peter learned to give up trying to get what he wants. Otto couldn’t until it was too late. And that’s why the end up where they do by the end
Recoving from stress and depression isn’t easy. It takes time, which is why it takes so long for Peter to get his powers back.
I don’t really get the John and MJ Upsidedown kiss moment.Did she think he was Spider-Man? Did she not really love him?
Maybe I don’t like Will They or Won’t They romance. Or at least not the kind in these movies
It’s troubling that Mary Jane is a damsel in distress all 3 movies
I love how the glasses show how much of his powers are back
The train scene. One of the greatest movie moments of all time
I think Doctor Octopus has quipped more then Spider-Man. That’s just a ninpick though.
The people support and carry him. A sign that he’s not alone
And Harry discovered Peter is Spider-Man. His corruption arc is paused, but not over.
Otto is freed, but he had to sacrafis himself. I wonder if he was able to live after No Way Home
And Otto dies a hero. A tragic ending to the character. I’m glad he would get a happier fate again someday
Peter and MJ get together. They’re relationship is...complicated. I guess on purpose. It’s better then I remember it, but it’s my least favorite romance of these movie series.
And we get the tease for Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin. An exciting prospect that does not live up to its potential.
Why is Harry at the wedding put not Peter? Was he not invited? Probably not. Again considing their straighted relationship
The movie ends implying that the two of them will put in the work to make a superhero relationship possbie. Sadly the next movie doesn’t do that
Ending Swing #2
Overall this is a fantastic movie, I can only think of 3 that have the potential to top it. Will it be topped upon my rewatches? I guess only time will tell. All I can say is, it’ll be sitting compertably at the top for a while.
Current Ranking:

Honestly if crossovers are ok I have a concept for you. What if damians sister isn't adopted by jason but by loki in an au were he and the avengers don't die. Like he comes across this kid with a lot of magic potential and like he's a unofficial avenger by now. And she is as alone as he is, though he does hesitate at her mortal status. He goes threw her mind and her story hits hard. Being the second, the unwanted child so he just kinda, takes her in, and teaches her magic. Slowly he becomes a platonic yandere. And of course because he switched sides she's seen at Tony's parties (always carefully standing beside her new dad) and Bruce can't really do much about it without revealing his child was trudging threw wherever loki was living unsupervised. And it's not like cps is going to take a kid from an avenger now that they know magic and could become a threat anyway. Furthermore talia decides she does want this child now that she can teleport and create illusions. But like to her irritation y/n never strays from loki. She can't do much if she can't catch her alone. Also I think in the few occasions she has to talk to Damian at parties loki encourages her to be cool if not cold. Thor thinks she should forgive him so if she's under his supervision she's slightly nicer, he's basically her uncle after all. I can just see loki telling Damian he has almost/no magic potential. And him being like "your a liar so idk" but it's a little irritating that his sister, his twin that he's actually trying to reach out to is so good at magic and he might not be any good at it
Anyway any thoughts???
~kawaii anon
First off, this would really further frustrate Damian. Like now that his sibling is magical it just further pushes the two farther apart. How can he ever try to reach out and mend things when he can’t even manage to be on the same level as them? At least when Jason took in Damian’s twin he was at least somewhat on par with Jason and his twin’s fighting techniques if a fight were to happen. But this new scenario is a different story.
It would by no means stop him from still continuing to sought out his twin but it definitely makes things harder. Especially, given that they can just bounce in and out whenever they want. And not to mention they have the God of Mischief in their corner ready to stab and really do whatever necessary to keep his bby.
Bruce and Talia are both screwed if they ever want to get their kid back. Loki isn’t just going to give them up and he certainly isn’t willing to allow them to interact with people who didn’t care any less for his bby when they had them to begin with. And there’s no playing nice or pretending with Loki when it comes to his bby. He doesn’t play fair and he never will, especially when it comes to his darling.
Not to mention that given Loki’s ‘good guy’ label now the other Avengers, and of course Thor, will be more than likely to step in if necessary. Especially if they’ve formed some kind of attachment for Damian’s twin as well. Then it would only be all the harder for Talia and the Batfamily to get to them.
