Danny didn't know how he was doing it, but all the acting classes he never took were really paying off!

'Fake 'til you make it and hope you don't get caught' is a great motto to live by and he is prepared to defend this hill with what's left of his living life.

By some miracle, Alfred hadn't kicked him from the haunt, instead giving him all the same permissions Dick, Barbra, and Tim have! He was warned about going to the Bat Cave for any reason, though. Not like Danny had any plans to enter Bruce Wayne's haunt. No thank you.

Speaking of Mister Wayne, Danny was so ready to be away from him. Just knowing they're in the same building was setting him off!

Bruce Wayne, on TV and in the eye of the public, was a man grieving his lost son. He's a playboy and a philanthropist who couldn't tell you left from right, but he's also Gotham's White Knight; her prince. A family man who's lost yet another of his family and doing his best to move past it.

In private, at least as far as Danny could tell, Bruce Wayne is a pessimist and a narcissist. He's a man desperate for a family, but unwilling to let anyone close, pushing everyone away and keeping them no closer than arm's length. He's stuck in the past, unable to move past mourning his parents and now his son. He is much more Batman than Bruce Wayne and it's only a matter of time before the two worlds collide disastrously.

Danny wouldn't know, but he can make a pretty educated guess on the matter.

Throughout the entire dinner, Danny had been observing everyone. He analyzed how they interacted, how they held themselves, how they ate, and how they reacted to his and Mister Wayne's conversation.

His main focus is Dick. Dick will always be his top priority, but Tim had quickly been added to the list. Barbra wasn't nearly as high on his list of people to take care of, but he was going to offer his help should she ever need it.

Especially because she snuck a nervous glance at Miaster Wayne when he mentioned Oracle.

He hadn't intended to stay the night in Gotham, but he wasn't going to turn away the opportunity, especially because Alfred was very insistent that Danny and Dick stay. And Tim and Barbra asking them on patrol? They both had pretty good puppy eyes, but Danny wasn't the one who made the mistake of looking at them.

Regardless, Nightwing being in Gotham for the night presented the Bludhaven Goons the perfect opportunity to commit crimes unpunished for the night. It wouldn't take long for the news to get out. Danny had fully planned on Phantom being there, flying over to work in Bludhaven before returning at his normal time, but Tim and Barbra convincing him to be on comms presented a bit of a hiccup in his plans.

Dick finding out about Phantom was inevitable. In fact, he didn't plan on hiding Phantom, but the times where Dick or Nightwing were awake never matched up when Phantom was out.

Okay, so maybe he was hiding a little bit.

Tim and Barbra finding out, on the other hand, was a bit of a problem.

Phantom was a hero in Amity Park, Illinois for only a little while before disappearing. He wasn't hugely known outside of the town or ghost hunters, not doing anything to warrant attention from the Big Leagues. (Nothing they knew of, anyway) It was unlikely that anyone outside of the niche group even knew his name, let alone what he looked like or how he worked.

Still. Tim figured out Nightwing's and Batman's identities, probably Batgirl's, too. And Batman is notoriously known for his paranoia and for somehow knowing everything and having a way to counteract it.

Mister Wayne is already looking into Danny, likely having already stumbled across the Missing Person report that wouldn't have gone through, ending up at a dead end. He'd easily put Danny and Phantom together as related somehow, if not being the same person.

Tim, similar to Mister Wayne, needs to know everything. The difference is that Tim's need to know is obviously a trauma response. Something that Danny would like to help him with, but that's beside the current point. It'll take maybe five minutes for Tim to find out everything he can about Phantom and Danny, especially now that he knows that Danny used to be a vigilante.

Sure, Danny could try and hide Phantom from them, but being on comms with them for the night would alert them to even the smallest fight. He's not a loud person, much preferring espionage and stealth over physical altercations, no matter how much his track record disagreed.

So, he's now presented with a choice. Introduce them to Phantom despite telling them that he was done being a hero, or leave Bludhaven to the mercy of her underworld for the night.

He was never quite able to leave stuff alone.

Sam had called him a tutelar.

Whatever that means.

Why couldn't these decisions be easier? Can't he ever have a Cinderella option? Why can't he ever just not decide?

the batfamily play minecraft

alfred: i don’t believe he can physically interact with computers

barbara: there’s always one person in the group who can do redstone and here it’s her. builds all the farms everyone loves having at the beginning of the game like the ender ender and a villager trading hall. as usual everyone would fucking die without her. servers she doesn’t join never really get off the ground for the most part because everyone is so used to having her farms on hand and gets lazy to play without them. would probably really enjoy elaborate progression mods like feed the beast

bruce: doesn’t get it. “what are you supposed to do?” “just whatever i want? that sounds silly.” if he gave it a chance i think it could be great for his mental health. i mean mining is basically meditation let’s be real. but let’s also be real he would try it for 5 minutes 30 if his kids really did the puppy eyes and then he would wander away and get killed by a zombie

cass: hard to say, honestly. depends on from what angle the game would be presented to her. she would probably enjoy the hanging out and the cozy atmosphere but she doesn’t strike me as the type to enjoy very grindy games beyond mindless resource gathering. she’d like hopping on the batfam server while everyone else is online and dicking around but alone i think she would just wander the landscapes aimlessly without progressing the game much.

damian: he’s collecting all the animals. 2.000 dogs and no sign of stopping. at least just as many cats. has wrangled half the passive mobs into his house, which is a wooden cube with a roof. it should be ugly but mostly it’s just really charming. i think he would enjoy the foxes

dick: also doesn’t get it. i think he’d prefer story based games or just straight up board games. he would enjoy the communal aspect and if someone introduced him to hypixel or something he would like that but i can’t see him enjoying casual minecraft unless it was a story based adventure map of some kind. he might like blightfall

duke: stacked. plays the game and plays it well. he has netherite armour while everyone else is just getting iron. he just strikes me as a minecraft kid. only other person who’s halfway decent at redstone, but only uses it to make cursed contraptions that give everyone else a headache.

jason: not the most impressive builds or the best with pvp but he likes to explore and creates really elaborate beautiful storylines into all his builds and the environments he cultivates that end up dragging half of the others into the plot. the kid who built fences around villages to protect the citizens from monsters. would enjoy mods that expand the minecraft world like better end.

stephanie: would play with incredibly silly mods that are all only working together with glue and hope. finding incredibly niche categories of speedrunning to complete just for fun; she actually gets briefly famous for setting a decent world record in something and would probably have many twitch followers if she didn’t already have med school and vigilante work to manage. maybe in another life

tim: doesn’t understand the term sandbox game and refuses to learn. he logs on and starts playing achievement hunter. not necessarily in a speedrunning way, but he does play the game like it has a tasklist. perpetual dirt hut tenant. either that or his unsupervised internet access as a child has lead to minecraft youtuber trauma

Young Justice (1998)

Almost every single issue they are present together will have some GREAT chemistry and moments showing their friendship, but the following stick out for the listed reasons. Issue #1 - The first issue, Kon protects Bart from being shot along with lots of banter that sets the tone between them for the rest of the series. Issue #7 - Bart and Kon banter during their Camping trip, highlights include Kon complimenting Bart’s hair and enthusiastically encouraging him for chasing off hunters with Secret. Issue #9 - Bart and Kon play chess together, showing that when there are downtimes in Young Justice they play games with each other. Issue #22 - Bart tries to help Kon get his powers back with comical results. (Note: this may be THAD but because publication time is not linear to comic in-world time, this is unconfirmed and it must be assumed that this is Bart.) Issue #31 - Bart tries desperately to get Kon to hang out with him, Kon is too busy watching TV. Issue #33 - Kon reaches out to Bart to have a hypothetical conversation but sadly did not compensate for Bart’s autism taking him literally. Issue #45 - Bart and Kon talk about comics and make sandwiches together. Issue #53 - Bart and Kon play Random Trivia, a game exclusive to them. 

Young Justice: No Man’s Land

Lots of banter and chemistry as they convince Tim to go to Gotham against Batman’s orders. Kon gives Bart his jacket for safekeeping.

It’s the 853rd century and although Young Justice is no more, a new version of Impulse and Superboy are just as close as their original selves.  Impulse (1995)

Issue #47 - Bart seeks Kon out to ask him about the worrying behavior Superman is displaying. Issue #77 - Bart’s clone is killed on Apokolips in front of Kon - this is a catalyst to Kon’s many issues of depression. Issue #78 - Bart says goodbye to Kon when he quits Young Justice due to PTSD, Kon pets his head. 

Superboy (1994) 

Issue #83 - Bart tries to help Kon get his swagger back, even to the point of obtaining the Backstreet Boys chemical breakdowns bc he cannot see Kon like this. 

Issue #90 - Kon has a soft moment with Cherub who he is attracted to, it is revealed that Cherub is a clone of BOTH Tana and Bart. Issue #91 - The aftermath of Bart’s clone dying on Apokolips pt.1 - Kon reveals he feels it’s all his fault and has resigned that while Bart is in a coma, he is going to die. 

Issue #92 - The aftermath of Bart’s clone dying on Apokolips pt.2 - Once back home on the Kent farm Kon, obsesses over Bart’s “death” and current coma to the point of exhaustion and sleeps for 20 hours. Highlights include Bart implying he is wearing a Playboy Bunny outfit, and that Kon has subconscious bi-sexual feelings towards Bart. Issue #99 - Bart as Kid Flash risks death to save a de-powered Kon during the World Without Young Justice arc.

Teen Titans (2003)

Same as with Young Justice, there are a lot of interactions that show they are friends and have a long-standing dynamic even though Geoff re-worked both of their characters into entirely new people. The following are moments when they are alone and show blatant friendship. Issue #25 - Bart tries to get through to Kon during his possession, and refuses to fight him. Issue #82 - Kon protects Bart from Holocaust’s blast, then Bart beats the hell out of Holocaust for barely tapping Kon. Issue #83 - Kon seeks Bart out and talks about his relationship with Cassie. Issue #88 - A quiet moment between Bart and Kon as Bart reveals he is forgetting the future they were resurrected in. Issue #90 - Bart and Kon play pingpong, once again showing that they like to play games together.

Infinite Crisis

Issue #7 - Bart goes ballistic on Superboy Prime after he kills Kon. 

Countdown #43

Bart’s funeral and he speaks directly to Kon, sadly Kon never got to hear it because he was dead at the time as well. Final Crisis Legion of Three Worlds

Issues #4-#5 - Bart and Kon reunite and are resurrected together after dying.

Superboy (2011)

Issue #3 - Kon reaches out to Bart to propose a charity Race to benefit the Smallville community. Bart agrees. Issue #5 - Bart and Kon race and take time to catch up and talk.

Issue #1 - Bart talks about Kon and their movie nights. 

Young Justice (2019) 

Bart and Kon reunite in Young Justice after being in comic limbo since 2011.

Issue #1 - Bart and Kon are reunited after the reboot. Issue #2 - Bart and Kon’s continuing reunion. Issue #14 - Bart rallies Young Justice and many other heroes together to save Kon from Dr. Glory. Issue #15 - Bart reveals what happened to Kon and why he did not reboot. Issue #16 - Bart and Kon have a revealing conversation about the time they lost and Bart reveals how he ‘broke time’ to try and find Kon. Issue #17 - Bart films Kon beating Lex Luthor with Tim’s phone bc he knew Kon would want to see it, Kon hugs Bart.

she finds her cloak and escapes later and he chases after her and turns out she's the daughter of a powerful wizard, unfortunately she goes back with him after he proves his "love" and that he knows her

whether or not the girls were always maidens who used magic to become swan versions of selkies or if their mother had been a swan before their father decided that he wanted a wife and the girls inherited feathery inclinations is not mentioned at all

Swan Janet unfortunately died from poison as per canon before she managed to finish off jack, she spent too long tormenting him

Tim never turned into a swan prior to finding and wearing his mother's feathers, any magic he had was bound by Janet because she didn't want to risk Jack hurting him for being "other". Jack holding onto her feathers and keeping them hidden from her gave him an edge against her so there was only so much she could do, much like a selkie

Tim can absolutely eat bread, though it's not a good idea while he's a swan, it's fine when he's human shaped, there is nothing particularly swan like about him when he's not wearing the feathers

Tim may end up discovering his own magical talents now that they've been unlocked and probably will need to consult with Zatanna or Constantine. He also may or may not think about finding his bio dad, mostly to get the man's medical history in case anything pops up in Tim that might be biologically linked.

What would be your ideal Outlaws team + how would you go about writing/constructing it? <3

My ideal team is, maybe a little predictably, Jason Todd Eddie Bloomberg and Rose Wilson.

Gosh uhm!! First of all, little to no Gotham issues. I prefer Jason when he isn't in Gotham, or is at least not interacting with the Bats, so it's just easier to have him be somewhere else. Most likely, I'd start it off in Hollywood, because I see it starting with Freshly Revived Eddie (p sure he like, just got revived in the new Flash?) not really understanding what happened for him to die and plus he's just... alone. So he texts Jason and Rose to come visit him! But then when Jay and Rose get there (already skeptical bc hello, Jason hasn't seen Eddie since they were 15 and Rose is literally Eddie's ex) Eddie gets kidnapped by a demon/magician/brother blood/etc and Jay and Rose have to go after him and that sets up the start of the comic

I'd take a more magical route with it, personally. Obviously to connect it to Eddie's whole thing as a demon hunter but also to try and fix the All-Caste stuff that Lobdell came up with. Lots of potential there if it came from a better writer. I don't think Rose does anything with magic in canon, but I do always enjoy watching characters have to adapt to seriously fucked up shit. (Plus, she has Slade's meta powers. She'll be fine.)

This is also like, you know, THE daddy issues team. So many conversations to be had between Jason and Rose about their dads bc Bruce and Slade are eerily similar in how they cope with their respective issues. Jason and Eddie can also connect over their bio dads being kind of shit (I say kind of because there's nothing I hate more than physically abusive Willis Todd. I am not kidding when I say that's the worst Jason retcon that Lobdell has ever come up with) and how they never felt wanted or loved by their parents. All three of them can relate to how their parents' abandonment (or, in Rose's case, Slade's lack of knowledge) shaped them as people. Lotssss of parallels to be drawn here

Also, obviously, Roy Harper cameo. But get this. He's here because of ROSE. I do enjoy platonic jayroy (and romantic but I don't want it to be canon) but I think the connection Roy has with Rose is a little deeper. I think he'd want to check on her after so many years (he was her foster dad! for fucks sake!) and make sure that she's doing well, considering he knows how Jason can Get.

There would also most likely be a YJ/Tim's TT crossover because duh, Eddie and Rose were in TT03 and Jason has his whole Thing (negative) with Tim, but I'm gonna be so vulnerable here and admit that the only TT03 issues I read are the ones with Mia in them + #42 + the one where Rose lights up her cigarette with Eddie's mouth fire. So, you know, can't give much insight here. Not really a Titans fan regardless of the team itself but if this Outlaws was to ever happen I'd want the author to include them in something.

Also, I think we should get a special issue where Slade repeatedly gets his ass kicked. Rose doesn't even participate but Jason and Eddie do it in her honor. Just for funsies

OH ALSO. I'd want them to bring an artist from the 2000s back. I just don't like the current art styles nearly as much </3 unless it's Ngozi. Ngozi's art is too cute to say no and I would kill to see her draw Rose!! Or or, Jason Fabok, because his art is just everything

So I think we can all agree that Lady Mowbray is an avatar of the hunt, right? RIGHT?! Like that is so obvious!! We love to see the hunt again, really it’s just nice to see something familiar again! She seems really interesting, and I found Celia’s interaction with her… interesting. Like my girl Celia INSTANTLY knew something was off, and I think she handled it nicely… maybe TOO nicely. If you know you know ;)

And is it just me, and I might be a little silly here.. but did the Caterer sound familiar? At first when he was kinda panicked he sounded like Tim but then not… thinking back on it doesn’t he sound like the vampire hunter guy? Trevor Herbert? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Now onto Alice and the victim- MY BABY ALICE HAS HER FIRST ENCOUNTER!!! Yay!!!! I always knew she’d be one of the first to get an encounter. I feel so bad for her, she’s so traumatized. But when you belong to a Rusty Quill production, you’re bound to be!

The victim? I’d say probably something to do with the vast, since the vast can be represented in the ocean as well. Though the ocean was a very under utilized vessel of the vast in TMA. Though I have heard some folks saying that it is possible TMAGP has new entities? Who knows!

I heard a few people say some interesting things about Luke and the band he was performing with, saying that they might have had something to do with the victim? I don’t know about that. I guess I didn’t really pick up anything sketch from them. At least it wasn’t Grifters Bone lol!

In any case I adored this episode! Had me sitting on the edge of my seat! I really have to start dedicating more time to my TMA relisten so I can have better theories.

Would anyone like me to start drawing the TMAGP cast? Or TMA cast? I’ll see if I can cook up designs with those lads.

Oh, one final thing… Cheshire Bouchards? What does THAT mean? Is Elias a big figure here? I’m not British, but I’m fairly certain Cheshire is somewhere in England, right?

And while I’m on the topic what I dislike most about this danny phantom shit isn’t that it’s a crossover taking over most of the tag. I could deal with that if it was a /good/ crossover that made sense for John to be interacting with these characters but it just doesn’t.

I won’t lie I’ve seen some fun art of the concept it’s not inherently bad but it’s hard to enjoy it as someone primarily interested in John because you can tell the only reason he’s being included is his connections to the supernatural. Even if those connections aren’t exactly to the typical ghost hunting associated with Danny phantom.

John simply would not want to deal with the fentons and their ghost hunting he’d probably consider them idiots for it. As for Danny himself he’d probably treat him the way he treats tim hunter at best (and John has tried to kill Tim btw for those who do not read the comics. Which considering Danny also has an evil alt future self is a totally possibility)

I don’t think it’s very reflective of the actual Danny phantom characters either. Like Danny and his friends would not like John he’s an asshole he wouldn’t really want to help them all that much (he would but he will complain about being dragged into it especially since this isn’t the sort of thing he normally deals with) but he’s a chain smoking alcoholic middle aged asshole so not typically the sort of person teenagers want to hang out with. Ntm I don’t think magic in general was ever a big thing in danny phantom.

I think a lot of us would be more open to it if it wasn’t clear this was inspired by the sanitised version of John that appears in a lot of DC media.

Also is it worth it to ask any of the DP writers who actually read this to maybe find a new tag for that stuff so those of us who actually read hellblazer can have our tag back.

Demetri New Moon - Duality of Diplomacy and Violence

Demetri first appears in the alleyway, instructed by Aro to bring two potential law-breakers back to him. Even in this tense and dangerous scenario with violence looming over everyone, Bella’s first impression of Demetri is his ‘soothing’ tone. This is no doubt a tactic to control the situation and discourage any rashness on Edward’s part. 

"Felix merely meant to point out the proximity of the sun," the other shadow said in a soothing tone. 

Even when Edward is refusing his request, Demetri continues to play the role of a ‘polite’ shadow who resembles ‘reasonableness’. Indeed, his request does seem reasonable - they 'merely' and ‘simply’ want to ‘speak’ somewhere less conspicuous.

But simple requests should have simple consequences - you don’t kill someone for refusing to comply. Him masking the underlying threat under the pretense of reasonableness when bringing someone back for trial is manipulative and calculating.

The second, more reasonable shadow cautioned. "Not here." He turned to Edward. "Aro would simply like to speak with you again, if you have decided not to force our hand after all."

It also shows that he is not someone that relies entirely on his vampire strengths and animalistics instincts (very common for vampires), and instead understands the politics of the hunt. 

A readiness to kill: 

What impresses me the most is how quickly he is able to shift from politely negotiating, to being ready to literally kill Edward and Bella, and then immediately return to his polite demeanor once Alice points out the human witnesses. He is able to evaluate the most suitable course of action in a split second, and adjust accordingly. This is not a simple task, as many hunters need to actively get into the mindset to kill.

I imagine this is a requirement for his job, where he is often the first point of contact with the accused, and would be forced to make a split second decision to either give them a chance to attend trial, or take swift actions to eliminate them if necessary.

Therefore, Demetri is either someone who is able to calmly negotiate even when he is ready to kill, or someone who is able to quickly shift into a killing mindset. Either is equally impressive and dangerous.

Cruel Detachment:

“Nice fishing” (In reference to Heidi bringing back the group of tourists for the Volturi to feast on). 

It is one thing to completely disregard humans, it is another to joke about the mass-killing of them. I am not a vegetarian myself, but if I were to go to a farm and meet the cows that will to be sent to the slaughter house for the BBQ I’m throwing, I would not feel comfortable joking about it. 

To me, this is Meyer’s way of emphasizing the cruelty of the Volturi vampires, and using Demetri, who was the voice of reason, to make this comment really reinforces the point that even the most polite of them exhibits a callous detachment. It draws an interesting parallel to Alec’s interaction, where we are once again presented with a stark contrast between a vampire’s outward civility, and their inner detachment. It somehow drives the point more so than using someone like Jane and Caius.

Casanova of life?

Charlie Bewley, the actor portraying Demetri, once described the character as a “casanova of life.” However, there is nothing in canon that indicates this. In fact, I believe his proximity with Felix, who appears to be the actual casanova, would make this more difficult.

I imagine his tracking ability and Felix’s combat capabilities make them the perfect duo (find and eliminate), so the two would often work together. The persona Felix takes on is a flirty and impulsive muscle, and he often times might have to engage in conducts to reinforce this brute image (more on Felix in a later post). Therefore, Demetri would need to play the role of a mature, cautious leader, as seen in New Moon. This includes laying low and cleaning up Felix’s mess - to also participate in a promiscuous lifestyle would draw too much attention. I do think Demetri needs to be charming and sophisticated for his job, which might give the illusion of him being a ‘casanova’, but he's got too much responsibility to actually indulge in this lifestyle.

However, this is mostly my take on the limited information presented in canon. I would not be entirely surprised if he does turn out to be more promiscuous. It just means he is able to balance work with pleasure better than I give him credit for.

I think that fandom often likes to focus on panels they can post on tumblr to prove why something is good or bad, and generally ignores broader narratives.

Liek I know I see people acting like Simone's BoP is super misogynistic* because there are things you can grab and see "oh the characters are slut shaming this is obviously super misogynistic"

which. It is misogynistic. I don't deny that that's a misogynistic thing. But. overall, less misogynistic than many other comics, because fans just. don't care if female characters don't have any narrative significance. or only have narrative significance that relates to a man.

like compare Dinah's treatment in Simone's BoP to Grell's Longbow Hunters and Hunter Moon. a lot of BoP interacted specifically with the misogynistic writing of Longbow Hunters, but it's hard to grab a specific moment from Longbow Hunters and say "oh see how awful this is" because like... it's just. in general her narrative is about making a man sad. she's treated as not competent to go out alone and gets tortured to make a man sad, and then the recovery is about reassuring the audience she still feels comfortable having sex with Ollie while she has no agency herself and is hypnotized. how do you screenshot that?

Same thing with the way fandom generally tends towards like "oh look at Damian baby misogynist". you can grab some panels of him calling women harlots, which yes, is misogynistic. But generally Tim's treatment of female characters is ignored, because he doesn't have one or two panels** but rather a general trend of treating them as if they are less capable of making decisions, less competent than him, in general lesser. hard to grab one panel that perfectly encapsulates that.

anyway very frustrating to analyze, especially when single panels can be treated as like "call out" posts for a certain character or run. Like comics can have plenty of flaws, and I talk about them a lot. and characters can have plenty of flaws. But the ones that are embedded in the narrative are oftentimes more relevant than the ones that are easily screencapped

actually i think that we as a fandom don't talk about the potential of athena and timothy's friendship enough. and i don't just mean the funny "he asked for no pickles" dynamic (tho that was the reason why i liked them as friends at first and i still adore this aspect of their friendship a lot) but also things such as:

their traumas are pretty similar. both had their personality completely erased down to their own names, and had to act exactly like their higher-up told them to, even if they didn’t like it or consent to it. both had to basically rebuild themselves after their abuser was dealt with and learn who they actually are, not who they were supposed to be

they are both extremely socially awkward. not only tim. athena just shows her "stoic shield-maiden" side more often because she practically has little to no Normal Human Interaction experience. she does not really understand how casual conversations work and prefers to stay quiet (or gives a very short, soldier-like answer) and observes stuff. on the other hand, tim's awkwardness is more of a familiar "nerdy" one. he understands social cues but overthinks and overexplains things

you could argue how out of all tps vault hunters they were the only ones who shared similar views on the on-going events (aurelia comes in pretty close buuut you know. she has her fair share of “evil” moments) especially with timothy being the only vault hunter on the team who genuinely felt bad for athena after listening to the echo where it was revealed that she had to kill her own sister 

they were both cut off from their family and friends like it was nothing. they were cut off from their normal life to which they thought they could never come back to. and it may be a bit of a reach but i do think athena would see him as some sort of younger brother figure, especially after losing the only person she cared for (aka her sister). same thing goes for timothy and him seeing her as some sort of mentor/older sister figure. found family and all that. you know

alright, so, in short, they should’ve canonically been friends. because i don’t even know if there are any characters who share just as much in common as they do. and their dynamic is simply funny as hell and I will never forgive gearbox for doing literally nothing with it

The best way I've been able to describe it is that they are seen like Mimes are in the real world. They are definitely real, people have seen and interacted with them. There are videos online and they have a long history and have impacted pop culture. There is no way to say Mimes Aren't Real. However your chances of ever just stumbling into one walking around the city or country side? Slim to none. It is very rare to meet a Mime in real life and when one does show up, people know where it is.

So for the Bats, they are not hunters but they likely have a few contingencies Just In Case like they do for everything, but they wouldn't really be constantly carrying half a dozen vials of holy water. Tim does his best to hide the fact that Creatures have been coming to Gothem chasing the rumors that Belmonts are Back in Gothem. Though that bit is later in the time line.

Speaking of later on, Constantine is how the Bats find out there is another Belmont. He finds out there is someone going around in a Biker helmet, a cape that has the Belmont Crest on the back of it, jeans (they look normal but have Bat Level armor), a black t shirt, a Grey wind breaker with red stripes, and dark red elbow length gloves. He points and at Tim and says, "I thought all the Belmonts were dead!" And Tim sighs back, as he's pretending to be Mute so that no one can recognize him voice, "I lived bitch."

Constantine tells Zantanna about it and she and WW keep trying to get Tim to join the Justice Leauge Dark thinking he's a fully grown adult, not a 17 year old.

I love identity shenanigans. Tim desperately telling the JLD to back off as they believe he's a full grown adult is hilarious. Does Constantine find out after the BruceQuest or before?

I also imagine Tim can't quite say no to helping Constantine and the JLD when they ask (if his specialty is required), but he's doing it reluctantly. It would be hilarious if Tim, after helping out again and again, ends up as an unofficial member.

If asked about him, the few people who have interacted with him will say, “Timothy Drake? Why, he’s such a polite little child! Timothy’s a darling, his father’s a Hunter, hear? Jack’s one of the world’s finest, and don’t forget about Janet either. She’s the best tracker money will find you. I’m sure the kid will grow up just like them. Timothy is a Drake through and through.”

His father would place his hands on Tim’s shoulders, nudging him forward with a broad, charming grin. His mother would smile too, sharp and cold and cunning.

If asked about him, people would not doubt that he’s a human. Timothy acts like a human, smells like a human, and has a Hunter for a father! Why would Timothy Jackson Drake be anything other than human?

Well, there are two reasons why.

His too-sharp senses, his pointy teeth, and his eyes, weren’t they glowing just a second ago?

As a child, Tim remembers his mother whispering in his ears just before she leaves with Jack on another Hunters’ trip, “Remember, my Moon, I love you. I know you’ll miss me, and I’ll miss you too, but this is for your own good. I will return soon, I promise. And when you’re old enough, I’ll tell you everything. I Promise.”

She would kiss his forehead and a blanket of warmth would settle over his shoulders, and he would feel safe and content.

One day, while Tim was perusing the Drake Manor Library, he stumbled across a book written by an author whose name was scratched out long ago. He was leafing through the pages, something guiding his hands and quietly telling him where to go. His hands stopped at a page written in another language- images drawn in dark ink, punctuated by splashes of bright cinnabar. The pages, no doubt once a beautiful white, were now a washed-out bige.

Tim ran his small fingers down the image of an elegant fox, whose body seemed to twirl and writhe despite being confined to the smooth, aged bamboo paper. Wide blue eyes were filled with indescribable awe as he drank in the picture of the creature. The words describing the creature, although foreign, were clear and legible.

After feasting his mind on the knowledge of the Huli Jing, not-quite-human and not-quite-fox creatures who could shift between both forms, Tim darted back into the main body of the manor. The housemaid would be here soon, and Tim doesn’t want her reporting back to his parents.

Throughout the rest of the day, Tim couldn’t get the thought of the Huli Jing out of his mind. Every time Tim tried to do something else, the memory persisted.

Honestly, it was growing annoying.

Even as he settled down to try and sleep for the night, he dreamed of scarlet foxes dancing around him. Some had two tails, others had seven, but foxes had nine. Despite this strange and confusing scene, Tim couldn’t help but feel drawn to them. The foxes herded Tim in front of a mirror, where he peered in to see a pair of pale blue eyes staring back.

Tim yelped, jerking back on paws that replaced his hands and feet. His fur bristled as his ears pinned back against his skull. Distressed cries spilled from his lips as he turned and streaked away, his heart pounding jack-rabbit-fast in his chest.

The world around him rippled and twisted from a milky white to an inky black in mere seconds. He cried out as something caught on his paws, tripping him and sending him tumbling. He let out a wordless scream as he began to fall, a feeling akin to thousands of ants biting into his skin drove the child on.

“MOM!” Tim cried as he fell off a cliff, his body hurtled towards the bottom of a thousand-meter deep ravine.

Inches away from meeting a pancake’s end, Tim jolted awake with wide eyes, sweaty palms, and a heart that was beating far too fast and far too loud for his liking. His bedroom seemed so much brighter than before he went to sleep, almost as if someone had turned on his nightlight.

Tim’s blood roared in his ears, pounding in time with his heartbeat as he forced himself to take deep and measured breaths. But when he tried to clench his hands into fists, the sheets under his fingers came apart with a riiip, and Tim jerked back to see the fabric torn to shreds. He whimpered softly, hissing in pain as he accidentally pricked his lip with his tooth.

What in the world was going on?

He carefully unhooked his hands from the sheets and examined his new, sharpened, elongated, claw-like nails. Each one of his fingers seemed tipped with ivory talons that gleamed under the bare moonlight. With only a second’s thought, Tim brought the claw to the back of his forearm and pressed down. He could only watch in a weird sense of fascination as his skin parted with the pressure, but the scratch almost instantly healed with a rush of chill.

Tim needed to head to the library now.

He tried to hop off the bed like he usually would, but his blankets wrapped around Tim’s legs like a snare and sent him crashing to the floor with a startled yelp.

As soon as the impact registered, a harsh wave of cold tore through his body and forced a pained cry from Tim’s lips. He gasped softly, screwing his eyes shut and sobbing as his entire body shuddered. Tim could feel his bones crack, break, and soften before hardening into new positions.

“M-Mom,” Tim sobbed, screaming as he was suddenly hyper-aware of each and every bone in his bone painstakingly snap and reheal themselves in different positions, “M-mom! It- It hurts! PLEA-SE.”

Tim’s eyes snapped open, his cries stuttering to a brief halt as he felt his face change and elongate, the process stalling in response to his sudden wave of panic.

Ivory laws scrambled against the wooden floor in his desperation to find a mirror- anything to confirm this was real. Tim hissed as his still-soft bones wailed in protest, whimpering every time he placed weight on even one of his limbs.

After a painstaking four minutes of searching, the young child found what he was looking desperately for.

He came to an abrupt stop, shock and confusion flooding his brain.

Tim’s pupils were different from their usual round shapes, and his pupils were now vertical slits surrounded by his familiar pale-blue irises. They were almost… Cat-like. No- fox-like.

Tim felt exhausted and collapsed into a heap, allowing his muzzle to finally finish taking form.

He was… a Fox?

It took some getting used to, but Tim eventually figured out what had happened.

After his initial shock and terror had faded, Tim spent the entire night and most of the next day struggling to turn back into a human. Each attempt yielded massive amounts of pain, and he was tempted to give up more than a few times, but he pulled through.

But now, there was another problem. A big, intimidating, and potentially life-threatening problem.

Tim huffed anxiously, pacing back and forth in his room. His parents were due back in a few days- What was he supposed to do?

His father is a Hunter, a person who traps and kills creatures like werewolves, creatures like Tim.

Was his mother a fox as well? Is that why Tim’s a fox? If so, then why would Janet marry Jack, an infamous Hunter? Why would his mother continuously choose to put her life in danger?

He took a deep breath, absentmindedly noting how his sense of smell increased dramatically since last night, before realization smacked him square in the face.

The manor smells human.

The manor smells human.

Specifically, the manor smelled like a human Hunter.

That was why his mother married Jack Drake!

Tim’s father was a Hunter, and Hunters always smelled strongly of residual magic, blood, and something else, so there would be no wonder that a Hunter’s partner and a Hunter’s son would smell so strongly of magic. Being so close to a human would also make Tim and Janet smell human by proxy!

Tim’s mother was so clever.

He grinned, a burst of pride soaring in his chest as he twisted around to stare into the mirror. Tim’s eyes were still their usual pale, nearly white, blue, but his pupils were finally back to their rounded shape.

With an exhale, Tim tightened his resolve and steeled himself.

This… Is fine! Tim can handle it! He’s four, a big boy, and so all he needed to do was lay low and keep calm.

As long as Tim lays low and keeps his discovery to himself, Jack will never find out.

To put into perspective just how forced the whole JohnZee pairing has been for the last few years, Zatanna met John 5 times in the pre-reboot continuity. That's 5 out of the 379 times she has appeared in comics before the Pre Nu 52 debut of Justice League Dark. Similarly John's Hellblazer lasted for 300 issues with his own supporting cast and love interests and Zatanna only appeared once in it.

(Yes, there was a divide between Vertigo and DC at the time but Zatanna was one of the few characters who famously flaunted the line)

Swamp Thing #49-50: this is where we first find out that these characters knew each other as John tries to recruit Zatara and Zatanna for the magical seance. Note that there is an element of manipulation involved in all of John's interactions with everyone in this issue. John was also a new character at the time and Zatanna was a very established character. Moore can be a perv so it's not surprising that he made their relationship sexual. He also basically ended the pairing with John Zatara's death and Zatanna blaming John for it. Although they were established as collegues, we got fans and writers today who think Zatanna should be a novice who needs John to lead her around and tell her where to aim her powers.

Books of Magic: In which we learn that John hasn't met Zatanna at all since the traumatic seance but feels he can just waltz in and ask her to babysit a kid for him. The writer likes him so of course it works and she hugs and kisses him, which felt so very jarring. Books of Magic is a book I enjoy except for the Zatanna scenes (and Spectres). Then we had Zee acting like a complete idiot who endangers Tim Hunter and needed to be saved by John Constantine. Really jarring when you see her appearances in JLA comics around the time where she was a powerful magician whose kicking ass. ( Yet, this one comic would decades later set the pace for her characterization in JLD as this novice with a lot of power except for when John needs to shine. ) We would later get a follow up to this in a dream sequence in the 1991 Zatanna mini series by Lee Mars but that too had a scene where Zatanna went 'oh no, I'm not as good John' which makes no sense since she has been involved in magic her whole life.

Hellblazer Vol 1 #63: Zatanna's only appearance in the title at John's 40th birthday party. I don't have any objections to this one. Zee getting high at a party with a floating joint is hilarious.

Totems mini series: A brief appearance where she turns down his offer for sex and even goes 'reven niaga'.

Zatanna Everyday Magic: I like this one. As it deals with things from her perspective. She is the one who saves him and very subtly we see her shed any resentment she may have for John but is not hung up on him. She has her own life and her own love interests, even has casual sex with them.

So we have a pairing that cratered and halfway buried, only for an ill thought out reboot to drag it back up and heavily retconning both character's respective histories to make it work. Like introducing Nick Necro and treating the seance like Zee's origin story instead of Zatanna's Search. Ignoring any aspect of her that's not related to John, like all her relationships with the JL members (except Batman) don't matter anymore even though they played important roles in her life as well. Yet, John gets to keep most of his history and supporting cast and even get several shots at an ongoing. Zee ends up being treated as less smart, less competent and daresay even less sexy, whenever the JohnZee pairing comes to the forefront. The seeds were there since even their second meeting.

I don't see why this pairing needs to be treated as something so sacrosanct that the characters aren't allowed to grow past it. It's definitely not an earned relationship that's up there with Clark/Lois, BatCat, WallyLinda or BarryIris. It's only post nu52 that writers can't seem to go two pages without mentioning the pairing whenever Zee shows up. And I hate the fact that it's lead to Zee developing a reputation as a woman with a bad body fetish. Yet another aspect of the character they had to twist to make the pairing work.

It's not just that Zee deserves better, it just plain doesn't make sense. Even on it's own, it's a constant merry go round 'oh John, you are lying to me, I can't trust you/John, you lied to me, I trusted you. Everyone in JLD gets this but Zatanna gets it the worst.

Also, Zatanna didn't 'choose him', they were apart then the reboot happened and DC went 'well, lets pretend these two are an angsty couple who can't quit each other, forget anything that might contradict this narrative'.

To drive the point home; compare Zee's last appearance in 2022 in JLD as team leader where she was shown to be reckless and dumb leader who endangered her team for no reason and refused to take responsibility (of course John comes out looking good). To her later appearances in Batgirl and the excellent Knight Terrors crossover team up with Robot Man.

Once she is away from John, she goes back to being her fun, competent, bad ass, sexy self.

Side note: Can we also go back to a time when Zatanna, Phantom Strnager, Spectre and Dr Fate were bad asses and not chumps so John Constantine can look cool as he pulls out a vaguely defined spelled from his ass? I saw scans from a comic recently where he got the drop on freakin' Waverider recently.

Liu is Jeff's older brother by 9 years who basically raised Jeff ever since he was a tiny baby. The two are almost complete opposites as Jeff is immature and untrusting towards others while Liu is mature and trusting. The two are basically the Lilo and Nani of the mansion as Liu is very (over)protective of Jeff. Liu can get on Jeff's nerves sometimes due to Liu's OCD. While Jeff tries to push Liu away due to him not believing he deserves Liu's love and forgiveness after he nearly murdered him, Liu always tries his best to make sure Jeff knows he is still loved (No shipping intended).

LJ is one of Jeff's closest friends. The two have similar tastes in music and personality as they both can be very zany. LJ is also one of the few proxies Jeff considers as one of his best friends. Jeff is unaware that LJ has a secret crush on him but often thinks that the idea of getting together is silly.

Jeff has known Tim ever since he was younger since Tim was one of Liu's college friends. The two have a good bond and Tim is often very protective of Jeff much like Nina, Liu, and Brian. After Jeff's incident that involved Jeff getting burned, Tim was one of the people that visited Jeff often. He was one of the people who wasn't freaked out when Jeff had changed due to the burns. Tim was also the one Jeff vented to the most whenever Jeff was having a hard time at home and at school and it made him wish he could take all the pain away.

Tim was also the one who helped Jeff with his injuries after his murderous rampage and let him stay at his house despite knowing that he would put himself in danger. Soon after, Alex (who was under the influence of Zalgo in the disguise of the Operator) burned Tim's house for leading "The Operator" to him and deciding to kill everyone involved with him. Tim never saw Jeff come out with him so he presumed Jeff had died in the fire, unaware Jeff had escaped through one of the windows during Alex's speech. When the two reunited years later when Slenderman found him in the forest injured by the Jeff Hunters and took him into the manor, Tim was relieved Jeff was alive and promised him to protect him no matter what. Since then, Jeff had called Tim his "honorary big brother". Like with EJ and Brian, Tim was the only one Jeff trusted when he first came into the manor.

Jeff is one of the few proxies (other than Tim and Jay) Brian has the most soft spot on due to Brian knowing Jeff since Jeff was little. Like with Tim, Jeff thinks of him his one of his "honorary big brothers". Brian also is very protective of Jeff and always makes sure that Jeff isn't upset or hurt. However, Jeff tends to get on his nerves when it comes to him dating Tim and Jay as Jeff loves to tease him about it. Brian also like to joke around with Jeff even though doesn't tend to get his jokes most of the time.

Not much is known about Toby and Jeff's relationship. However, Toby seems to be annoyed with Jeff a lot due to his immaturity. Jeff often regards Toby as "weird" due to his behavior and personality. However like with most of the other proxies, Jeff isn't afraid to tease Toby regarding his secret crush on Kate which Toby gets annoyed by.

Ben Drowned is one of Jeff's bffs (other than Nina ofc). Ben and Jeff have many similarities in terms of personality and interests. Ben is the one, other than Liu, Jeff is always seen with as the two love to hang out together. The two are often seen playing video games and watching TV. They also love playing pranks on the other proxies of the manor (Toby being the most frequent victim). Jeff often thinks Ben as the little brother he never got while Ben thinks of Jeff as the older brother he never had. Ben is also the one Jeff loves to team up with the most when he needs a partner.

Jeff's most closest friend would have to be Eyeless Jack. The two became close when Eyeless Jack helped Jeff with his injuries after Jeff was saved by Slenderman. Eyeless Jack was the only one Jeff felt comfortable taking his mask off around during the time period where Jeff wore a mask to keep himself from being seen. Jeff feels like he could tell Eyeless Jack anything as Eyeless Jack seems to be the only one who truly understands Jeff. Jeff is also the only one (other than Nina) to know Eyeless Jack is a zalgoid and promises to keep the secret until Eyeless Jack is ready to tell everyone about it.

Not much is known about Smiley and Jeff's relationship with each other. The two seem to be in a professional relationship and rarely interact with each other outside Jeff's monthly therapy sessions with Dr. Smiley.

The two seem to be at neutral terms with each other but it's hard to tell because they don't seem to interact with each other at all except for when Jeff accidentally injures himself during a mission. Jeff seems to be Dr. Pain's least favorite patient and often gets annoyed whenever Jeff comes in with an injury.

🩹 👩‍⚕️ Nurse Ann 🩹👩‍⚕️

The two seem to be on good terms and seem to have nice interactions with each other. Nurse Ann is one of the medical professionals Jeff seems to trust the most other than EJ. Unlike with Dr. Pain, Nurse Ann doesn't complain about Jeff being injured as she knows Jeff is still a human and not undead like her and Dr. Pain.

⚰️👩 Lifeless Lucy ⚰️👩

Lifeless Lucy and Jeff have a big brother-little sister type of relationship. She loves to make Jeff play tea parties with her and Sally whenever Sally comes over. Like with Sally, Lucy ends up picking up on Jeff's language and sometimes curses to which Jeff thinks it's pretty funny. Jeff would sometimes let Lucy do his hair and laughs with her when his hair ends up being a mess. Lucy keeps a teddy bear Jeff gave to her he found while looting through of his victims' house (it's her favorite teddy bear of them all).

🧸ྀི Lily Kennett 🧸ྀི

Like with many of the kids, Jeff seems to get along great with Lily. Lily loves to make dolls for him and Jeff thinks it's adorable. He loves to play dolls with her and Lily sometimes calls Jeff "big brother" to which Jeff doesn't often mind.

👻 🕸️ Slendrina 👻🕸️

Jeff loves Slendrina like a big sister and often spends time with her outside of missions. Jeff seems to be the only one, other than her father, that Slendrina actually likes and spends time with. However, there are times where Slendrina is jealous of Jeff due to Jeff having a close son-father relationship with Slenderman. Despite this, Slendrina seems to love Jeff as her little brother and is very loving towards him.

Like with most of the proxies, Jeff thinks Slenderman as his adoptive father due to him taking him in and saving him when no one else could. The two met when Jeff was getting beaten up by the Jeff Hunters and Slenderman saved him by scaring them off. Ever since then, Jeff had grown to trust Slenderman the most and sometimes calls Slenderman "dad" by accident. Jeff is also Slenderman's favorite child despite his immaturity and problem-making due to the fact that Jeff is one of the few proxies Slenderman shows his soft side on.

Not much is known about their relationship but they seem to work well. However, Jeff doesn't like it when Ally gets into her nightmare mode and thinks it looks pretty terrifying.

Rouge and Jeff seems to be on neutral terms with each other but Rouge doesn't like Jeff's immaturity.

The two are friends and seem to love playing baseball with each other. But due to their different methods of killing, the two don't get along a whole lot.

The two seem to be good friends with each other. Jeff is one of the few Cat Hunter trusts to look after Loki due to Jeff knowing how to take care of pets better than the others. There are times where Cat Hunter gets annoyed with Jeff especially when it comes to Kagekao whom Jeff has a crush on despite Kagekao dating Cat Hunter.

Jeff and Chris are almost like siblings. As children, they never interacted with each other a whole lot despite attending the same middle school. However, Chris was one of the few Jeff spared during his rampage as he only wanted to hurt those who hurt him. When the two reunite, Jeff was uneasy around Chris and often avoided them. It wasn't until after one of the missions, Chris decided to talk with Jeff and heard about what actually happened and why Jeff snapped. As a result, Chris promised Jeff to always be there for him whenever he needs it. Jeff came around to trust Chris and the two are now at good terms with each other. Chris is also one of the few Jeff comes to whenever he gets a nightmare.

X-Virus seems to think Jeff as his favorite "brother". Jeff is the one X-Virus loves to test his newest potions on even if things go completely wrong and Jeff has to suffer for it. Jeff always thinks his potions are cool and seems to love whenever Cody asks for a volunteer. The two also seem to love making Toby pissed off by making fun of him for his crush on Kate.

Despite being her mentor, Jeff acts more like Lulu's older brother than a mentor. Jeff is very protective of Lulu and doesn't like it when she hurt or sad.

Lauren and Jeff have that "annoyed big sister-troublesome younger brother" relationship. Lauren is often annoyed with Jeff due to her being a frequent victim of his antics. However, despite this, Lauren genuinely gets along with Jeff and likes to have conversations with him while drinking energy drinks.

Jay has known Jeff ever since Jeff was little. Though, the two never talked too much unlike Tim and Jeff. Jay was one of the few people to notice Jeff's behavior due to his addiction but he didn't want to make things worse so he tried to ignore it. However, once he heard Jeff's name on the news, Jay felt bad for not helping Jeff when he had the chance and ended up being paranoid that Jeff would come and kill him for not helping him with his troubles.

When he first came into the manor, Jay would often avoid Jeff out of fear that Jeff was still the same psycho as he was back then. However, once Tim explained everything that actually happened, Jay started to become less scared of Jeff and communicated with him sometimes. As of now, the two seem to be on good terms with each other.

Dawn and Jeff have a very complicated relationship with each other. The two used to be close to each other when they were younger due to them being neglected by their parents and them being abused by Sully. Growing up, Dawn was the only person (other than Liu) Jeff fully trusted. When the Woods family moved, Dawn and Jeff bonded due to their homesickness and Sully's continuous abuse on the two. She also protected Jeff from Randy's aggression whenever he came over. When Liu got arrested, Dawn did her best to comfort Jeff but she didn't know how.

When Jeff got burned, Dawn ends up ultimately blaming herself for not looking out for Jeff. As a result, she took it out on Jeff to make herself feel better about herself. Sometime later, she found Jeff was taking painkillers and told him off for it. But when he told her about the hardships he was dealing with, she felt guilty. However, this was only a minor prevention of her dying in the hands of her brother.

After surviving Jeff's attack, Dawn later became part of the Jeff Hunters after Sully told her about their parents' death. For 2 years, she would often do her best to track down Jeff but ultimately failed. After she got kicked out of Jeff Hunters Dawn would later reunite with both of her brothers.

Jeff still loves Dawn and isn't aware Dawn hates him and is only toleranting him for Liu's sake. Jeff often likes to annoy Dawn and tease her about her dating Will.

🦇 Will Grossman 🦇

Will and Jeff are good friends due to Jeff being one of Will's inspirations. While Jeff thinks it's flattering that Will looks up to him, he doesn't like to be reminded of the time he snapped. Will and Jeff talk sometimes about their lives before they became killers and what their lives would've been if they didn't end up as killers.

😈 Sully 😈

While Sully hates Jeff and wants to kill him, Jeff still somewhat love Sully despite the abuse Sully had put him through. As a baby, Jeff was often a victim of Sully's aggression and often suffered for it. Sully would often threaten him and yell at him for being "a curse to the family". However, Sully never outright tried to kill him or Dawn so Liu wouldn't end up being depressed. As time went on, Jeff started to become a shy kid due to the abuse.

By the time the Woods family moved to Mandeville, Sully started to get less aggressive but Jeff was still scared of him. Sully would still sometimes threaten Jeff that if he does anything to embarrass him, he would regret it. When Sully and Jane became friends, Sully slowly went back to his old ways much to Jeff's sadness. When Liu was arrested for false illegal weed possession, Sully ended up beating Jeff for getting his twin arrested and locked him in his room until the next day.

When Jeff was burned by Randy, Sully didn't even care about if his brother was okay or not, but worried more about what his face would look like and what it would mean for his reputation. When Jeff got his bandages removed and his new face revealed, Sully made fun of him for it but Jeff thought he was just joking around. However as time went on, Jeff started to get sick of the insults Sully and some of the others thrown at him and told him to stop. But Sully didn't stop. Instead, Sully decided to photoshop Jeff (with the help of Helen and Jane) as the Joker and posted it to social media. This would cause Jeff to get bullied even more to the point where Jeff would end up getting addicted to painkillers and becoming suicidal. Sully even gave Jeff the nickname "freak". When Jeff was in the hospital due to a drug overdose, Sully was later called out by Liu (who found out about the picture). Sully didn't care and just said Jeff was being too sensitive. This would become one of the main reasons Jeff decided to snap.

When Jeff's murderous rampage took place, Sully ran away from home due to him not wanting to suffer the consequences of his own actions. Sully would later end up forming the Jeff Hunters to kill Jeff for everything he has done. Despite this, Jeff still loves Sully and hopes that one day he would apologize and the two would become brothers once again (it's never going to happen).

🎀🫧🤍 Nina Hopkins 🎀🫧🤍

Nina and Jeff have been close ever since Jeff was a baby. Nina used to babysit Jeff a lot when she was younger and loved him to the point where she basically calls him her "second brother". When Nina joined the Jeff Hunters due to Sully manipulating her into thinking Jeff killed Liu, she had a temporary hatred against Jeff. For 3 years, Nina would basically try to hunt down Jeff as revenge for killing one of her best friends. However, she would soon find out Sully had lied to her about Jeff being a psychopathic monster and later quits until she was nearly killed and left to die in a ditch (which is how Slenderman would later find her). The two get along so well and Jeff loves it when Nina comes over to visit the Slender Manor (she lives in the Splendor Mansion).

🔪 Jane the Killer 🔪

Jane and Jeff are archenemies and despise each other very much. Jane's only motivation is to kill Jeff for revenge for killing her parents and burning her house down. Jeff is terrified of Jane and is often scared of her finding out the manor and killing all of his friends.

🕒 Clockwork 🕒

When Clockwork first joined the Slender Pact, she and Jeff were basically like siblings due to Clockwork reminding him of Dawn whom he greatly missed. However that would soon change when Clockwork ended up revealing her aggressive side and threatened Jeff when he was talking to Toby. Clockwork would end up abusing Jeff (and a few of the other proxies such as Ben) for years until Slenderman found out and kicked Clockwork out of the Pact (making Toby ending up breaking up with her in the process). Clockwork then ended up joining the Jeff Hunters about a year later so she could revenge on Jeff for making Toby break up with her.

🎨 Bloody Painter 🎨

Bloody Painter is one of Jeff's worst enemies. Bloody Painter was one of the few who made the Jeff the Killer photo which is why Jeff hates him. Bloody Painter likes to talk about how beautiful Jeff would look as an art piece and Jeff is greatly disturbed by the implications of that.

Oh SELF Recs? Alrighty, alrighty!!

I had trouble deciding on what fics to choose from what fandoms and ended up choosing one from five different fandoms I’ve written for. Except. I couldn’t decide between two for two fandoms so there’s technically 7 fics here. Uh. Oops.

ANYWAYS

1. For Miraculous Ladybug, I was going back and forth on a few but I do think the first fic I published ‘You Could Win A Rabbit’ might take the cake. I love ‘In The Light Of The Red Moon’ and ‘Consider The Spare’ with all my heart but I think I would either need to finish and/or get to a certain point I’ve been dying to write in order for either to take Number One! But YCWAR turned out really well and it gets extra points for being my first fic posted for ML, so it gets the spotlight here!

2. I was stuck between two for Baldur’s Gate 3 because, once again, I love the first fic I posted, ‘Sharpened Instincts’ because I think my characterization was good and I loved getting to write Astarion’s Bite Scene with Wyll, buttt ‘Temporal Displacement’ was SO self indulgent. I love writing highly specific Time Travel Fics where a Future Character ends up in the past and gets to see what someone used to be like before, maybe giving some good advice or good will in the process. I couldn’t decide between the two so you get both!

3. For The Owl House, I gotta go with ‘Boy, I Want You To Be Happy’ because I loveddd how that one came out. I remember how the mere MENTION of Darius visiting Hunter on Clouds In The Horizon spurred me into writing that in like, a couple of days I think? Less?? I love Darius and I have so many feelings about him as a character AND his fatherly relationship to Hunter. Definitely a favorite of mine!

4. It’s not really a contest with Marble Hornets. I think I’ve written some pretty good fics but ‘Cooperation’s Gambit’ will ALWAYS be number one. It’s incrediblyyyy self indulgent. I love team ups. I love Hurt/Comfort. I LOVE exploring what’s going on in Hoody’s head. I am the number one fan of Brian/Tim/Jay. They mean everything to me. I’ll finish this fic one day, I swear.

5. Like BG3, my favorite HLVRAI fic is tied for two because I could not pick a favorite. ‘Because You’re Like A Fever Dream But Twice As Sweet’ was created because I was having soooo many feelings about the idea of Benrey having a lot of guilt and it’s so whumpy and it ended up being my most popular fic for that fandom! I got really cool fanart because of it! It holds a very special place in my heart! HOWEVER, ‘In This Part Of The Woods’ is also a huge favorite of mine. I love writing about monsters, good and bad. I love getting to explore a world of creatures and how they hide within and/or interact with human society. I couldn’t pick which I love more so you get both!
