Context: Yuu has a pocket dimension. Infinite space, infinite storage… but the access point? Oh, it's not a bag. Not a hat. Not a cloak. Not even a shoe. It’s something absurd. Something stupidly unexpected. Like... behind people’s ears. Yes. Grim was pulled out from behind someone’s ear. A whole raccoon-cat-fire demon. Just plucked like a card trick. NRC is traumatized. Let's begin.

He jolts upright from his nap as you smugly tug Grim’s scruffy tail from behind his ear with a flourish and a “ta-da!” He’s too old for this nonsense. He glares. He growls. Grim is hissing. You’re giggling. Leona is rethinking his entire reality. “I’m never letting you near my ears again, herbivore. What else is in there? My pride?”

“WHOAAAA! Is that, like—actual dimensional storage?! In your fingers??” He’s so impressed. Already scheming. Could he ask you to smuggle cafeteria desserts? Exam answers? “...Hey, hey, hey—pull a sandwich out next. Or a gumball machine. Or better—Jade's wallet!”

Jack Howl Visibly disturbed. He watches Grim emerge from your palm like some cursed magic trick and takes two full steps back.

“That’s… really not natural.” But he’s secretly a little jealous because damn that could be useful in a fight.

“…I don’t even have the emotional energy to unpack this.” But then you pull Grim out of his shadow. His literal shadow. He lets out a sharp, “Nope,” turns around, and walks directly into a wall.

“So… do you clean it? Like… is it dusty in there? Do you have furniture? A vacuum?” He’s oddly fascinated by the logistics. Will probably ask to store his baking supplies in it.

“OMG—Yuu, that is SUCH a slay.” Immediately tries to get a video for Magicam. Wants to do collab illusions with you. “Pull out a party horn from Ace’s hoodie next. Or better—Ace himself!”

Deuce Spade

“WHAT IN THE SEVEN—YUU DID YOU JUST PULL A LIVING BEING OUT OF AIR—?!” He is spiraling. Frantically checking his own pockets. Patting down his clothes like he might have one too. “What if there’s a dimension in my shoes?! What if I AM a pocket dimension?!”

“Yo, is Grim even real or did you conjure him with Sleight of Hand?” You pull out his own homework from his sleeve. Ace is screaming. “YOU’RE THE REASON PROFESSOR TREIN KEEPS THINKING I CHEATED!”

Idia Shroud You sneak up behind him during a dark moment in the lab, fingers raised like a claw. With a single motion, you pull Grim out of the ether above his keyboard.

“…Idia.exe has crashed. Blue screening.” He actually curls into a ball. You have ruined his ability to trust visual reality. “I KNEW YOU WERE THE FINAL BOSS.”

“WOAH! You’ve got a Planck-folding pocket space? That’s SO cool! Can you store an entire mech in there?!” He now refers to you as “Living Storage.exe.” You are a scientific marvel.

Malleus Draconia He loves it. Thinks it’s the most whimsical thing he’s ever seen.

“You plucked a gremlin from my collar. Delightful.” Now asks you to pull out objects at royal gatherings to amuse himself. Requests a chandelier next.

Lilia Vanrouge Cackling. Thinks it's hilarious.

“Back in my day, we stored things in real enchanted chests! None of this ear magic!” Will absolutely challenge you to a "who-can-hide-it-better" contest.

Silver Falls asleep while you're talking. You pull Grim out from under his blanket mid-nap. He wakes up mid-sentence.

As promised, I came back to this ask, or rather to the second part of it. Because it’s a very interesting question to think about! But my answers are a bit all over the place lol

They fit their own dorms so well that some of my choices ended up just being about me wanting to see the boy suffer in another setting, but for the most part I tried to be fair,  honest!

I also know that all of the boys said what other dorm they’d pick if they had to, but I haven’t seen all of those interviews and tried to not rely on them much. It wouldn’t be fun that way, right?

Riddle – you know, it’s a surprisingly tough one. I know everyone fits their current dorm very well, but with Riddle it’s so difficult to imagine him in any other dorm… I’m thinking either Diasomnia or Pomefiore, but I think I’d put him in Pomefiore, so he’d still have a lot of rules to follow, but also see how this set of rules differs from the rules he is used to lol Those are more useful, Riddle! But also, I think the uniform would look rather flattering on him.

Ace – Octavinelle. It just makes sense to me; maybe it’s his cunning nature, maybe it’s the cards, maybe it’s the fact that he is Floyd’s kohai and also stated that he would like to have Azul as an older brother at some point. He’d have a very hard time over there though lol

Deuce – Savanaclaw. I can see him in a situation similar to Jack’s: he really wants to be a proper student and do right things, but gets frustrated because of his senpais. And with Deuce’s background, he would feel both at home and as if his past is following him everywhere… still, he believes in the King of Beasts' spirit of persistence!

Trey – Octavinelle. I wanted to put him into Pomefiore at first because he would enjoy having a lab in his dorm, but a kitchen is closer to his heart. It’s not the only reason though; I think the Sea Witch’s benevolence would be a nice fit for Trey, who feels like a good senpai to a lot of people, but still has some darkness to him… Plus, he’s already wearing a fedora, so might as well look cool while doing it!

Cater – Pomefiore, and it feels like a very easy choice… Even if the Pomefiore regimen is too much for him, it can’t be that much worse than the Queen of Hearts’ rules! Plus, with every single Pomefiore student being super photogenic + Vil-the-superstar being there, Cater is probably going to enjoy his stay lol

Leona – I actually remember that he said he’d go to Pomefiore lol but I’m going to fip the script and put him into Scarabia. I was honestly this close to putting him into Diasomnia just to be mean (imagine Leona having Malleus as his housewarden lol), but… they just won’t let him sleep would they lol It’s going to be so noisy and annoying, so active and bright, that he would complain a lot. But I know that deep inside he enjoys the food that they get to eat… Kalim would insist that they’re besties now.

Ruggie – Octavinelle, easily. I think Ruggie could make it work anywhere, to be honest, but he seems to share a lot of values with the Octavinelle gang, plus, we’ve seen them working together before. And I really want to see him wearing a fedora… he would probably enjoy working at the Mostro Lounge and get promoted to manager at some point lol

Jack – Heartstlabyul. Looks like he’s switching dorms with Deuce..!! He would be confused and frustrated about all the rules that make no sense, but I think there is a lot about Heartslabyul and its housewarden in particular that Jack could at least respect. He’d also memorise the rules easily, I think lol I’ll also note that I really wanted to put him in Pomefiore at first, but… I’d end up putting everyone in Pomefiore, so I had to stop myself lol

Azul – Scarabia. Congratulations, Azul, now you’ll finally be able to pester Jamil all the time! In all seriousness though, Scarabia and Octavinelle feel like the two dorms that have some overlap in terms of their attitude (ignoring Kalim’s whole party thing, of course…), so Azul’s sly nature would shine there as well. The only problem is that it’s probably too damn hot there for Azul lol but otherwise, he’d just be smiling 24/7, so it’s for the best.

Jade – Pomefiore. Let’s be honest, he really enjoyed his time there… He would have a lot of fun! Well, maybe he won’t like yoga all that much, but that’s also a plus because we’d get to see long-ass Jade who doesn’t bend all that well lol Jokes aside, Jade would absolutely love the potionology aspect of this dorm + would probably keep making Rook jealous with how nice of an assistant he is to Vil.

Floyd – “why me??”, he would say, as I also put him in Pomefiore… remember that one Halloween scene where Vil asked everyone to remove their makeup but washed Floyd’s face himself for some reason? Yes, this, but now it’s every day! And we’ve seen him actually really respecting Vil’s strength a couple of times, so he could even have fun there sometimes… Of course, there is no way he wouldn’t have like 15 tantrums per day, but if there is anything Floyd (and Jade, for that matter) absolutely doesn’t lack, it’s tenacity, so he’s better enjoy his stay lol

Kalim – god, every other dorm is too mean lol Or rather, I feel like Kalim would turn any dorm into Scarabia the moment he enters it. He just has this power of taking the party vibes everywhere. Maybe Heartslabyul??  But he would also absolutely not follow the rules, but somehow never get in trouble for it. It’s not like he hates the rules – he just can’t remember them at all… but he does remember that they have tea parties! And he is always happy to participate, even if he can’t eat anything there!

Jamil – Octavinelle. I’m sorry, Jamil, but you know I’m right. I feel like Azul is the main reason he is so against joining Octavinelle lol But he would fit in perfectly, both because of his cunningness/cleverness and because of his culinary skills. He would be great as a chef and as a waiter… Every time I see Jamil I think about how big of an asset he would be to the Lounge... and to Azul in general… ah, if only…!!

Vil – Diasomnia; I am biased because I actually remember Vil saying that he would pick Diasomnia if he absolutely had to pick any other dorm, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The uniform would look so hot oh my god- I mean, it just works, doesn’t it? Vil loves having strict regimen, and I think he even said something about not wanting to fight Malleus for the housewarden status… he would hang out with Lilia and discipline Sebek a lot lol

Rook – Savanaclawis an easy answer because he’s already been there, so I’ll purposefully avoid it… even though I think Rook fits in there perfectly lol But now I am truly torn, because I can see him somehow thriving everywhere… he is like a weed growing through concrete lol a part of me wants to put him in Ignihide!! But I’ll put him in Heartslabyul instead – he would enjoy it a lot: they have trees, beastmen, critters and a Queen to worship <3 All of his favourite things.

Epel – oh how much he’d love to be in Savanaclaw, and I’d love to see him there as well, but I kinda don’t want to grace him with such a gift lol So in Diasomnia he goes! First of all, once again, consider the uniform. He would look too damn hot for his own good. Second of all, what Epel really desperately needs is discipline, and if he’s not in Pomefiore, he might as well be in another dorm that is pretty strict in terms of discipline lol The entire aura would be good for him, I think. Or maybe I just love dark!Epel…

Idia – Octavinelle; I feel like this is the least painful option for him lol Of course he would still be a recluse, but it’s a bit easier in Octavinelle – as long as you don’t get in trouble with Azul and avoid the Tweels, no one is really going to bother you. And Idia is pretty good at that… He also has the same quid pro quo mindset as Octavinelle, so if he absolutely HAS to participate somewhere he could suggest doing something for the dorm instead, like building new computers, upgrading the Lounge’s kitchen gadgets, etc.

Ortho – I’m writing him last because it was the most difficult to think about this one, buuut Diasomnia. Pomefiore feels like a more obvious option because his favourite senpai is there, but because Ortho’s enrollment in NRC is pretty much an experiment, why not put him into a place where mister “I accidentally break phones” lives? With so many unique magical and cultural aspects related to fae AND with Diasomnia being so non-reliant on technology, Ortho would have to work very hard to figure out the best way to operate there. I just gave him a challenge…

Lilia – he would work wonderfully in Savanaclaw (he would make soldiers out of these pups!), and he would have a lot of fun in Scarabia, but I’m going to actually put him in Ignihyde. Both because he is interested in videogames and because of how much of an extravert he is. He is also pretty used to dealing with introverts, so for some reason I feel like he’ll find a way to make Ignihyde students somewhat more… willing to hang out and have a funky time. But maybe he’ll just be super bored because they’d start avoiding him because he is scary lol Well, Idia won’t be able to hide.

Silver – Heartslabyul because I want him to take care of hedgehogs and flamingos… he is also very good at following the rules and very careful; I feel like his attitude would work with the Heartslabyul’s vibes nicely. Well, it’s not like he won’t get in trouble for falling asleep during an inappropriate time. Imagine sleepy Silver in Riddle’s collar? Trying to wake himself up with some nice tea… He is the Dormouse 😭

Sebek – according to Sebek himself, if he didn’t get into Diasomnia, he would live in Diasomnia’s garden LOL Honestly, that’s a tough one. I can easily picture him in Heartslabyul or Pomefiore, both are very strict and Sebek would definitely thrive there, plus learn a thing or two. I would love to see both Pomefiore!Sebek and Heartslabyul!Sebek…!! But I’m going to put him into Savanaclaw; he can fight with beastmen and express his anger all he wants lol Maybe he’ll just get tons of enemies to punch on a daily basis, but who knows, maybe that’ll make them learn discipline. Oh right, isn’t his grandpa from Sunset Savannah? I forgot about it…

Malleus – Scarabia. Another very tough choice; I really wanted to put him in Pomefiore or Heartslabyul, because you know, the noble vibes and all, and Scarabia does feel like a weird choice, but hear me out: Malleus being invited to a banquet every single day? Having plenty of opportunity to dance and hang out with everyone? Maybe at some point people would even be a bit less terrified of him! And if not, well, at least he’d befriend Kalim… honestly, this sounds more like a doujin/fanfic prompt than anything lol

(Basing this on my experience with teenage guys in Germany, as a fellow teen)

Heartslabyul:

Riddle: 4/10 sure, mommy issues, but I have never met a teen act that serious when away from home

Ace: 9/10 pretty accurate, but he should be getting a bit more bullied, he needs a ruthless roasting

Deuce: 9/10, just a guy, minus point because of the haircut.

Cater: 8/10 most don't care that much about social media, he's more like a Cally influencer, not a regular teen

Trey: 5/10 a guy, but that fedora ruins everything

Savanaclaw:

Leona: 0/10 not a teen.

Jack: 7/10 his muscles aren't even that unrealistic, I have guys bulit like that in my school, it's the being kind and respectful

Ruggie: 9/10 the smugness, the scheming, it's all perfect, but he's a bit too willing to listen to a 20 year old man

Octavinelle:

Azul: 3/10 no teenager is so skilled at scheming and so on top of everything, unrealistic expectations

Jade: 4/10 way too serious and professional and would be a 0 but the height and scary factor give him a good boost

Floyd: 8/10 he's funny, he's weird, he's moody, he's built like a tree, he would be a perfect but minus for the occasional fedora

Scarabia:

Kalim: 10/10 he's fun, he's light-hearted, he has friends and hobbies, he just wants to party

Jamil: 9/10 he's just a guy, but a little too pretty for average teen guys

Pomefiore:

Vil: 0/10 not realistic at all for a realistic teen guy.

Rook: 2/10 he used to be more realistic when in savanclaw, but now he's too yassified

Epel: 8/10 he would definitely be into looks-maxxing, just cut your hair if you don't wanna look so femine!! Such a simple solution omg! just get a fade!!

Ignihyde:

Idia: 10/10 he's the average guy, the gaming, the awkwardness, and the devious plan

Ortho: 0/10 he's a robot child, not even a teen, not very realistic

Diasomnia:

Malleus: 0/10 not a teen.

Silver: 3/10 teens aren't even half as serious about anything as he about being a guard

Appearance

Coral is described as a fair skined young man of average height. His apperance is similar to his two older brothers Jade Leech and Floyd Leech. He has long styled teal hair with two long-ish grey strands of hair on both sides of his head. His eyes have heterochromia with a mixture of olive brown and gold.

Dorm Uniform

Similar to most of the octavinelle students he wears the uniform’s top consists of a black, double-breasted suit, a lavender-gray scarf, a button-up undershirt, and a bow tie. The uniform also comes with black, high-waisted dress pants, white gloves, and a black fedora.

Personality

Coral first comes off as a rather pleasant individual to talk to. He's pretty shy and a nervous wreck when people interact with him, often times stuttering over his words. He tends to stick close to Jade and Floyd when he's able too, like when at the dorm or out in public spaces, such as the lounge and the cafeteria.

Signature Spell

"Connect to the heart" is the name of Coral's signature spell. As sweet as it sounds it's not as sweet when in action. When in action it causes the rival to take damage each time they hit him with their own spells.

Trivia

Coral is often times mistaken for a girl by his long hair and youthful looking face.

His last name, Leech, references the aquatic worm of the same name, but it is also a title given to those who exploit others, usually for money.

He was actually named by Floyd when he was first born

In Genshin, my first favorite was Childe. I read a few fanfics about him and watched this trailer and it convinced me to download Genshin!!! I fell in love immediately with him. :D I started playing towards the beginning of Zhongli's first banner, so I missed Childe's first banner (I can't believe it was on my birthday as well,,, T_T). But I did eventually drag that Fatui Harbinger home!!!!

And then I saw him. ( ≧ᗜ≦) my most beloved to this very day. Scaramouche!!!!! I missed the Unreconciled Stars event, so I could only watch Scara's cutscenes religiously. The "are you deaf or just stupid? When did I give you the right to issue your own orders?" lines....... AAAAAAAAA IT WAS A DIRECT HIT TO MY HEART. OTL I saved obsessively for two years to ensure I would have enough to get him and his weapon when he became playable. I was a firm believer in playable Mouchey since day one. >w< the crumbs I feasted on,,, from vague mentions of him in dialogue, sprinkles of his lore in the artifact set, Ei and Miko's voice lines about him, the cutscene which only showed his foot, his appearance in Inazuma arc, and ultimately his role in Sumeru and consequent character arc!!!!!!!! So many memories omg!!!!

Scaramouche was a life-changing event for me. My first smut fic was for him hehehe. I love him dearly. He means the world to me. orz I was in quite a dark place during his playable release, so it was cathartic to suffer (and eventually heal) alongside Mouchey!!!

As for twst, Riddle was my favorite!!! In 2019-2020, I often returned to the twst website to play his greeting voice line on repeat. orz I adored him back then (and still do today). It was Riddle and Ruggie who captured my attention first. I skipped over Octavinelle because I thought they were all ugly and I didn't like their fedoras (lol). Azul was spared most of my dislike because I thought the twins were far more unattractive than he was. Floyd especially. ;;;;;;;;;;

I sort of,,, forgot about twst after it released in 2020 because I didn't have any friends who knew of it and so I was something of a quiet ghost within the fandom. ^^;;; I stopped paying attention shortly after book two. I also thought Azul's overblot form was ugly (I AM SO SORRY, MY LOVE) and I wasn't interested in tentacles or that sort of monstrous type back then. So it is with my clown makeup and wig on that I now admit my favorites are Octavinelle LOL. I think I started enjoying them at some point during twst's English release. Thank you to Azul for showing me the light and opening my eyes to the beautiful thing that is tentacles. orz

my favorite one so far-

I'm still brainstorming him but so far I've got this:

Ricker is a second year octavinelle student!

Ricker is from a family of professional fishers, they live near the ocean but visit lakes and rivers frequently to catch different types of fish there

Ricker can't swim and has an irrational fear of alligators and sharks, so he never enjoyed the family business and wishes to stay away from it, he's using NRC to discover his abilities and passions. he's never travelled much so he's trying experience other environments in the forms of the personalized dorms as well.

his family aren't very accepting of his passions or the fact that he's drifting away from their family business, and it frustrates him that they're still insistent on pressuring him to get back in the fishing business, even after he lost his hand to an alligator on the last fishing trip he had went to.

still despite his fear of the ocean, he really likes to play up his "pirate persona", he doesn't find himself as scared of the ocean when he's on a big ship (such as a pirate ship) where the dangerous creatures of the sea can't get him

(unfortunately, it appears the dangerous creatures of the sea are also his dormmates now, who would've saw this coming)

unlike what you'd think, he's actually not very traumatized by the alligator incident, sure it strengthened his fear of the ocean but he was still very young when it happened, so he doesn't remember the details completely. he's fine with people making jokes about it (cough cough Floyd) he even makes jokes himself! its part if his "pirate" persona afterall.

Overview:

Azul is a merperson from the Coral Sea attending Night Raven College. He is a second year and is the dorm leader of Octavinelle. There are rumors floating around him that he is able to fulfil any wish that a person may want in exchange for their most prided quality.

Appearance:

Azul has fair skin and is of average height. He has short, wavy hair that is layered and light-gray in color, with one strand spiraling down on his left side (not unlike a tentacle). The back of his hair is shaved into an undercut in the back. His eyes are a slightly darker shade than his hair. He has a mole under the left side of his lip. He is usually seen with thin, rectangular, silver half-rimmed glasses (he's nearsighted). He is most often seen wearing his dorm uniform. It is slightly different from the other Octavinelle students, the most notable feature being the long, lavender-gray coat (that has a purple underlining) over his shoulders (he is always struggling to make it stay in place, but he has just practiced enough so that the coat won't fall when he walks). He is known for this coat. He wears makeup (sharp and thin eyeliner under the eye, with a deep purple color) every time he wears his dorm uniform (this comes from his respect for the Sea Witch and how she paid attention on how she looked). He has a white button up undershirt, a black double breasted suit with a purple underlining (that he keeps unbuttoned, a lavender-gray scarf with fringed ends (with the Octavinelle logo on one end) (the scarf drapes over both of his shoulders and under the suit's lapels), and a purple bowtie. The uniform also comes with a black cummerbund and slacks, white gloves which are buttoned at the wrist, long purple socks with a pattern consisting of wavy lines and circles (which symbolize the ocean waves and air bubbles) and a black fedora with a lavender-gray hat band which is tied with a neat bow. He has a purple pin in the shape of a spiral seashell over the bow. He wears black dress shoes with block heels and silver buckles on the sides. In his ceremonial robes, he wears thick black eyeliner. He only wears eyeliner in his ceremonial robes and dorm uniform. He carries a black cane with him, which has a silver handle that represents an octopus. He walks with his chin up, chest out, and back straight; he makes sure to look dignified and smart, and to not look like a slob. He takes great care in dressing properly; he makes sure to wear classy and stylish clothes where he can, even if the situation doesn't really call for it. He loves styling himself after all, especially since merfolk don't usually wear clothes or dress up. He is most often seen with a faint smirk (which is practiced to the point where you can't tell if he's faking it or not). His smile is often pleasant but is also forced. He prefers to have a well-defined/accentuated figure, and tightens his belt often. He uses a transformation potion to maintain his human form. Transformation potions require government authorization and specialist supervision, and only medical mages can issue prescriptions for them. Licensed potion pharmacists are the only ones who can formulate them. Overall, it is a very highly regulated field which Azul takes great interest in (which is fitting, as it has to deal with him). To add to this, those who take these types of potions can undergo major physiological changes, which causes the treatment of their injuries to require more care - this is why it is illegal to practice medicine on them without a specialist license. He has to take it as prescribed. At first, it only lasted for three days max with one dose, but with recent advancements, one dose lasts for 7-10 days. He doesn't like the taste (because it's not very good in general) so he's happy that he can take fewer doses. In his mer form, he is bigger than Jade and Floyd; he has ashen gray skin, as well as eight tentacles arms where there should be legs. He seems more mature than the other second years. His voice is a practiced lilt, and he makes sure to sound as pleasant as possible. However, this sometimes makes others think that he is being "fake."

Personality:

At first, Azul seems friendly and willing to help others. However, this is all an act to lure people in to create a deal with him. He is well known around Night Raven College for these deals and his rumored abilities that allow him to grant any wish. He can convince almost anyone to sign a contract with him, as his deals seem to be completely in the other party's favor. However, he only makes deals with those that make him gain a benefit in the long run.

He is skilled in every aspect in the classroom. In addition, he can create study guides that accumulate test knowledge from the past 100 years, resulting in a study guide that can help people get really high grades with just one night of studying. He also has plenty of knowledge on study ideas for different types of people, so people who often struggle with their studying can always come to him for help. He also tutors Kalim from time to time and would be willing to help tutor others as well (for the right price).

He runs Mostro Lounge, which is a cafe/dining establishment at Night Raven College. Azul is often searching for ways to expand Mostro Lounge and/or ways to improve it (such as adding items to the menu). He loves thinking of ways to entice customers, and currently his point-card system is making him very pleased (with the system, you get one point for a 6-Madol drink special and 3 points for ordering something off the 15-Madol limited menu; once a person earns fifty points, they get a free consultation with Azul (the same as he did for his contracts - they can get more things by filling three point cards). He was able to open it after making a deal with Crowley in his first year to release all the students he had controlled then and give back all their powers.

He puts on a composed and polite facade, but his politeness does slip every once in a while if he is taken by surprise. However, he is quick to go back to being polite and composed.

He tends to play on other people's sympathies to get what he wants, especially when making deals... This helps him get what he desires easier.

He may seem extroverted, but he is truly introverted. Not many people know many deep things about him (and truly, the people who know the most are Floyd and Jade). Other than that, he always enjoys relaxing in the Mostro Lounge or VIP Room if there are no people around, and his own dorm room if there are. A long day of socializing and making deals with others can wear a person down, after all. Part of his introversion comes from his cautiousness in forming attachments with others, especially considering his backstory.

He definitely has moments of severe doubt and anxiety, as well as insecurity. However, he does his best to hide all of this, only showing it to the people he trusts most (read: basically only his family); he's a businessman, after all, and has to put up a good front. He still gets insecure over himself, but he's trying hard to ignore his insecurities and doubts. He has to be strong in order to survive in this society.

He enjoys thinking with his head, and even the games he plays mostly deal with strategy and thinking in general. Mindless games that rely on luck or nothing at all irritate him as they can be unpredictable. However, this in turn makes him want to make the game as predictable as possible (which, according to Idia, is very annoying during club meetings). He first joined the board game club due to Ortho introducing him to to a game that mimicked business strategies.

He analyzes everything carefully, and makes sure to think of all possible outcomes, which makes him enjoy games of strategy such as developing land, managing a business, or making a trade deal, or ones like chess. No doubt he almost always wins. These games also helped him have a greater nerve when taking risks, and helped grow his business skills.

Although he doesn't seem like he gets competitive, he can and will be if pushed there (mostly if Idia riles him up (especially if Azul loses in a game), but one simply needs to be condescending to him to make him competitive). This competitiveness can also make him stubborn, and focused on whatever he wants to do.

At Mostro Lounge, he generally spends him time in the VIP Room, only coming out if there is trouble. He gives orders to Jade and Floyd, but mostly trusts them (well, trusts Jade the most, anyway) to do their work. He does scold Floyd often, whether for being too rash or laying on the tables. He has forced Floyd to sit perfectly upright (in a seiza) for hours as punishment (and wouldn't hesitate to do it again)

He also spends some of his time trying to make his dishes and drinks look more presentable, whether by adjusting the ingredients or adjusting the plates that they are on. Sometimes he even adjusts lighting to fit in with the time of day.

He prides himself on having top grades in every subject, maintaining a rank in the top 10. He always puts an overwhelming amount of effort in whatever he does as he believes that there is no harm in putting forth effort, especially as it can leave a good impression on others. He loves Alchemy the best - especially since one can make gems or gold in that class. He loves that as long as you follow the procedure, nothing unexpected will happen. He enjoys learning high-level potions. (On that note, he is always wanting to get a higher score than Riddle, which he has not achieved yet). He is a really hard and diligent worker (though sometimes one might struggle to see that...)

He also takes pride on being a housewarden in his second year - he's in a position of power in a prestigious school, having control over a historic dorm. Now wouldn't that impress some people?

Due to him being an octo-mer, he's sensitive and wary by nature; this makes him unable to sleep in unknown locations. He's much more comfortable staying guard, even if that means losing sleep. However, he still wants to keep a good sleep schedule (it is failing haha-)

Powers:

Azul is a relatively slow spell caster, but he has precision and control. He's a pretty good person that can analyze situations and play support. He's calm and efficient, and prefers to assist those around him. He sometimes takes too much time in thinking, which could be a negative trait. He keeps a cool head when faced with curveballs, and makes sure not to overuse his magic (as his magic pool isn't large enough to sustain them, even though he utilizes a wide range of spells). He relies on his quick thinking, and is always cautious with his magic. He likes efficiency over speed. He has excellent control over his magic. He personally prefers using ice magic.

"I can grant any wish, no matter how far-fetched. Isn't that what the rumors say, and why you came here to me?"

Signature Spell:

Azul's signature spell, "It's a Deal," allows him to use a golden contract to grant a wish to the person who wants it in exchange for something they have, most often their prided quality or ability (either magical or physical). He mastered this spell at a very young age. The other person has to sign the contract for it to come into effect. If the person fails to fulfil the contract's conditions, they will be bound to work under Azul. Although he can take a person's power directly without using his contracts, he doesn't normally do this; doing so would cause rapid blot accumulation and cause him to overblot. In addition, doing this would cause the other person immense pain. The contract works as a limiter and basically helps Azul from overusing his magic. Also, absorbing power indiscriminately is designated as a forbidden class of magic; however, mers chosen by the mirror receive special allowances to grant them a human form in which they can attend classes comfortably. To fulfil a person's wishes, Azul can only do so much - he is limited by his knowledge, and can only fulfil terms that involve things he knows (as his signature spell doesn't automatically grant said wish). Therefore, he makes sure to grant wishes that take little to no effort on his part to do, such as making potions. Additionally, he makes sure to have the other person give something of high value to him. He is currently forbidden from taking anyone's powers again (even under contract) by Crowley.

Physical Power:

Physically, Azul doesn't have much power. He dislikes classes that involve Physical Education, and although he will try his best, he still is near the bottom. Flying classes are the worst for him as he cannot get used to nothing being under him except for the broom. In the water, there were more ways to maneuver himself... He is definitely thinking of creating a potion or something of the sort to help fly easier, but that's not high on his list of priorities right now. He is the one who struggles most with flight in his class (unsurprisingly, since it's only been little over a year since he started walking on land). His broom always flies off whenever he loses focus, so he needs to focus extra hard. In addition, he can barely fly straight - he's the only housewarden that can't fly. Despite all of this, he puts in an extremely high amount of effort and is able to get grades that are enough to pass the class. He claims that he does not dislike flight classes, and if you say he's not showing any effort, he'll get mad.

Background:

Being an octopus mer, Azul was a rare subspecies of mer. His limbs were in stark contrast to the pretty fins that all the other mers had, and add in him being chubby and a crybaby? There were loads of things that the little elementary schoolers had to bully him about.

Azul used to be very happy as a child before the words of the other people around him got to him. He was a sweet child, many teachers would describe him as "angelic."

However, around when he was seven years old, the little mers started seeing all the differences between them and Azul. "He's a slow swimmer." "He has ugly limbs, look at all the suckers he has! Haha!" "He's fat." "He spits out ink! Gross."

All these words weighed down on Azul and gave him many insecurities (that he still has to this day).

He gradually started to not go out and play (not that he had many friends to begin with), instead focusing all of his energy on studying and trying to be better than the other mers intellectually. He knew he couldn't catch up to the faster, stronger mers, but he thought that working hard on intelligence would be more beneficial to him. This worked as he was able to find his Signature Spell much earlier than anyone else his age. This spell was crafted specifically so he could get his revenge from his bullies.

He met Jade and Floyd while they were still in elementary school - they had always been in the same class as there weren't enough small mers their age to fill another class, but neither Floyd nor Jade had taken much interest in him. However, in the later years of elementary school, they had gotten to know each other a bit more and became friends.

It was also during the later years in elementary school where he developed his eating disorder. He started to force himself to eat healthier foods, even asking his mother for healthier recipes. He also counted his calories and weighed himself almost obsessively, always working for his "ideal" body type. It worked somewhat, as he did get thinner, but it caused his mental health and physical health to plunge, and that was a time when very few people saw his genuine smile.

Azul started using his signature spell in middle school, which was almost immediately found out by Jade and Floyd (much to Azul's disappointment). He wanted it to be a secret for a bit longer, after all. But it couldn't be helped; those two knew him best, after all.

He worked hard to erase all memories of his past, such as graduation photos with his "old self" in it. He also never forgot any of the remarks that the people at his elementary school told him, making sure to observe them before creating a contract with them. This allowed him to press on their weak points to get what he wanted (which was, most often, their prided quality). As there are not as many merfolk as there are humans, it was quite easy to keep track of everyone who had hurt him.

After coming to Night Raven College, he studied harder than ever. This was the first time he started making study guides for tests for others and creating contracts in exchange for them, and that went over successfully. He got a surprising number of guests considering it was his first time - they must have been pretty desperate.

Being at Night Raven College made him have an obsession with staying human. He's always working to see if he can figure out a way to change a transformation potion so that he can maintain his human form for longer periods of time, or one that can help him take less of the potion with still as large of an effect... (It's illegal but he doesn't really care as he's not actually making anything - though he wants to, of course). He's not sure what he should do, but he loves how he looks as a human. He thinks he looks slimmer this way, and this is making him feel more unhappy whenever he has to be in his octopus form.

Overall, he enjoys Night Raven College and can't wait to learn more things and make more money.

The overblot incident was an unfortunate thing to happen... But it had barely any effect on his record. So it doesn't bother him at all. It won't mess up his future plans. So he's totally not concerned about it (he is).

Family:

Azul has a very good relationship with all members of his family. Although his biological parents are divorced, the divorce didn't actually affect him very much; he still manages to spend time with everyone as much as he can.

He is very proud of how smart and resourceful his family is, and would most likely pick his family over his business (he might cry and be heartbroken while doing it, but still).

With his biological father, he doesn't get to see him much (they live in different parts of the Coral Sea) but he still enjoys talking to him every so often when they find the time in their schedules. However, his biological father also has a new family now (he started meeting someone while Azul was in his last year of middle school) so now he doesn't see his father that much as he doesn't want to mess with his father's relationship.

Azul loves his mother? She's one of his biggest inspirations. She manages a family restaurant, after all - it was one of the inspirations for the Mostro Lounge. However, the restaurant was more cute and for little kids than the refined Mostro Lounge. He has tons of respect for her, and she in turn loves seeing her son's achievements, and she invests in Mostro Lounge, giving Azul a bit of money if need be to cover costs. For the most part, though, Azu can handle himself, so that's not needed.

The restaurant was originally a small location owned and operated by her alone, but has now grown into the most famous restaurant in the Coral Sea. She is considering maybe branching off onto land to get more customers (and hopes Azul could help a bit if she ever does go with this plan).

Azul's mother loves him so much, she has a pile of baby pictures that Azul doesn't even know about (she never shows them) but she would show them to company if anyone ever came. (If Azul somehow finds out, he wouldn't even be able to edit them because Azul's mother would go on a rampage if she found out. And she will find out because while her son is out enjoying his dorm life, she takes out those baby pictures and cries seeing how cute he was when he was little and dependent on her.) She calls him her precious little pearl sometimes. Azul has tried to get her to stop calling him that (to no avail).

One of the major things that she gets mad about with Azul is the fact that he's obsessed with wanting to become human. She's a very practical woman, and she knows that whatever effort he tries will most likely be in vain. And, he has similar traits to one of the Great Sevens (and herself, as she is an octo-mer too)! Why should he want to change himself? She does get it, at least partly - but she still gets kind of annoyed when he brings it up. She just wants what's best for her son, after all.

Azul also used to help out at his mother's restaurant, whether it was helping prepare foods when he was little or giving ideas to his mother to help expand her business. It was here that he got a talent for analyzing ingredients in foods, mostly due to the fact that he would go with his mother to popular restaurants and cafes to test their foods and see if they could use those ideas to create new and better products. This is an instinct that has carried over to his management of Mostro Lounge, and he does check out any new food item in Sam's shop or the kitchen (if it is a food item that would appear in a cafe, of course). In general, he's pretty good at recognizing items by sight (like what basic type of drink something is, for example) but his abilities are even more showcased when he has a taste of the item, as he can list the various ingredients.

In addition, she would close down the restaurant on his birthday to have a special celebration. His family along with all of the staff were welcome to come (he didn't have many friends, and even Jade and Floyd never did get to go to the restaurant much, mostly because he still has pictures of his younger self there (which he's not certain if his mother will show or not) and he doesn't like that). The staff all love him like he's another child of theirs (he basically grew up surrounded by them) and many of them send him gifts. Obviously, the staff loves Azul's mother as well, and they have a fairly casual relationship with each other. At the parties, there was fancy decor and music, and his mother made sure to make a delicious meal for him with all of his favorite foods, making a bit more than was necessary. But it's for her sweet son, so who can judge? (Lately, Azul never finishes off everything, and it's been a worry of hers that he isn't getting enough to eat or that he's getting bullied again)

Azul's step-father is also another person that he respects a lot. Azul is not related by blood to him, but he thinks of him more as a father than his actual father. He and Azul's mother got acquainted during her divorce proceedings as he was the lawyer. Being a lawyer, Azul got taught all sorts of things from him about making contracts, the little pieces of information you should add to nudge toward a result that you want… All that. They spend lots of time together reading over contracts - Azul even suggests things that his step-father should add from time to time now that he's getting used to creating them. Azul's step-father is surprisingly nice and sincere, but he is quite the businessman and nothing slips by him. He wishes that Azul would follow in his footsteps and be a bit nicer to others (oh, but Azul is nice to others. Wouldn't you agree?)

Azul was an only-sibling, so he was kind of pampered while he was growing up. He loves his family a lot, but he still kind of wants a younger sibling. But he knows that that would cause him to lose the precious time he has with his parents about discussing business, so he also doesn't want siblings.

Azul's grandmother is a powerful mage (said to be one of the greatest mages in the world), and he can't even try to go against her. Azul always says "yes ma'am" to her just because she has really powerful magic and he respects her immensely. Of course, she would never use it on her darling grandson... But you could never be too careful. Although she did help out the less fortunate and the poor, often helping out her neighbors whenever they needed it, that didn't mean that she didn't have a temper. Better to be safe than sorry.

She was often the caretaker for Azul since Azul's mother was so busy, and she usually tended to spoil Azul, especially when he was younger. However, as he got older and she started to help him with his magic, he started to see more of her stricter side. Being with her was where he grew his love for Alchemy.

There are also rumors flying around that she's related to the great Sea Witch... But she denies everything. No one knows for sure whether she's telling the truth or not, though.

He doesn't open up about his family very often because he doesn't want them to be used in his contracts/otherwise taken advantage of. This is why he always speaks formally about his parents, and offers very little information about his backstory.

Likes:

Money, having power, fried chicken/kara-age (as well as other fried foods), looking at shipwrecks and old architecture, strategizing, going thrift shopping, affectionate gestures.

Dislikes:

Being indebted to someone, turning back into his octopus form, rude remarks, eating healthy foods, feeling helpless, useless, or dumb.

He used to hole up in an octopus pot whenever he was feeling sad so he didn't have to show anyone his tears.

He probably practices swimming better in his human form so he doesn't have to rely on his octopus form to get around in the water.

He and Sam are always fighting for customers. Sam is usually on the losing side when it comes to items similar to Mostro Lounge's, so he tends to try harder with the other items, such as regular supplies. Still, Azul is always looking for ways to expand, so Sam can never be too careful. Azul is always impressed by Sam's ability to stock up on expensive, rare, and nearly impossible to require items, though.

He has blackmail and secrets about most people in the school, especially those who had made deals with him. However, he wouldn't blab so openly about them... If you'd like to know, you need to have an adequate payment. (This blackmail can and will be used to force others into making deals with him.)

He can produce ink, but he mostly uses it to write contracts and spells (although he used to cry ink in the form of tears when he was younger - one could always tell when he had been crying due to the black streaks running down his face).

He also has venom, but it's not lethal enough in a bite to harm regular humans... However, with a high enough concentration, it could work. (He is not working on making something like this, where would you even get that kind of idea?)

He cannot camouflage himself, though he wished he had that ability when he was younger and trying to hide from the other merfolk. His octopus pot had to do, though.

He gets really annoyed when people use "octopi" instead of "octopuses" and it's an easy way for a person to get dragged into a lecture. Which is, you know, fun. (Also, he does not have tentacles. You are mistaken if you call his limbs that. They are called arms, limbs, or appendages.)

He enjoys reading to relax; mostly, he reads autobiographies from entrepreneurs - he borrows them from the school library and reads with the lights turned down low. He usually tends to read before he goes to bed. He also sometimes looks at his coin collection or decor to relax - it's needless to say that he finds his dorm room very comforting.

Coin collecting in particular has become fun for him, finding coins that are worth much more than their face value? It's so exciting. He has started visiting shipwrecks to try to find more of the coins - all in all, it is fascinating to him. He has around 200 coins in all, and he thinks of them as a sound investment if he ever gets bored of coin collecting. Although finding them is exciting, he also regularly sees if he can buy coins.

Similarly, he sometimes goes to thrift shops/second hand stores to see if there are any items of high value listed for a cheap price. He oftentimes resells items that he got (because he needs to make a profit) but sometimes he does buy items from those stores just for decoration or for him to have. It's rare, though.

Beds were another thing that was interesting to him when he first came onto land. They were really soft - a stark contrast to the hollows of shells and conches that he had slept in before. He doesn't really need a pillow (he uses whatever is recommended by the store), but he enjoys how soft they are.

If he could choose anyone for a brother, he'd pick Ortho. He's really sweet, cute, would care for his brother and he can do calculations, help with Mostro Lounge (as well as any other businesses he may create)... The list goes on.

If he could go to another dorm, he would choose Scarabia; the different culture and climate and such of the Scalding Sands interests him, as it is completely different than the Coral Sea (and the part he is from is particularly frigid, while Scarabia is known to be quite hot). Also, he would love to make connections to people from there so he can get high-quality products.

Every time they play a game in P.E., Azul tries to strategize. Especially if it's a sport (such as basketball, volleyball, football, etc), he knows he can direct others so his team can win without him getting in the way too much. He has a keen eye, he just isn't cut out for actually doing sports.

He rarely praises others honestly, so being praised by him is a great honor (or so he thinks - he would never say this out loud though).

Every time he goes on a trip, he has to research extensively beforehand. Every trip. But if he's been there multiple times, he doesn't research as much, just checks up on any new things that might have arrived.

He enjoys singing, and doesn't really care if he's in the spotlight or not. He doesn't do well when he gets a lot of praise about it though. He has obtained this power from one of his contracts.

He loves traveling by different modes of transportation! Public trains are not his favorite, but shinkansen (bullet trains) and airplanes are always enjoyed!

Time efficiency is key for him. So whether it be working on a plane, listening to an audiobook while walking, or immediately doing other tasks after finishing his work in class, he never has free time. Even if he seems like he has free time, that is all just carefully planned out according to his plan to entice customers.

When he has no specific plans, he does self-care for his mind and body. For his self-care of the mind, he tends to wake up early in the morning, grab a cup of whatever he's in the mood for at the moment, and read a business book or an economic newspaper, check the news, or see what is currently trending. He finds it intriguing and is an ingrained habit in him that he can't break. If someone told him to stay in bed and relax, he'd just get more and more anxious and feel like he needs to do something. For his self-care of the body, he does circuit training, alternating between weight training and aerobic exercises for his exercise. This is (hopefully) helping him improve his physical skills. He really hopes it is.

He used to dance a bit under the sea (in secret); he doesn't have the endurance to do it on land, though.

He didn't wear glasses while he lived under the sea, but after he came on land, he made a conscious decision to get them (both for seeing better and to make himself look smarter). He wants to get a different pair of glasses sometime for fashion's sake. (Every time he does any type of physical activity, his glasses slip and he is so close to just buying a pair of sports glasses to combat that. So close. (It's really comical)). He wouldn't usually choose round-framed glasses.

He's good at getting gifts; he will observe and think logically about what a person would like the most, and use his information network as well to help get a suitable item. Not that he gives gifts often, but still.

Halloween in the Coral Sea was a very... Interesting event. Unlike regular Halloween, there were no costumes. Every so often, merfolk disappeared due to ghosts or whatnot. To fend against this, there was music to prevent the ghosts from getting lonely and bioluminescent algae lanterns to stop mers from wandering into the spiritual realm. Unlike on land, Halloween with mers is less of a fun event and more of a thrilling one. However, there were some fun parts; Azul always enjoyed collecting shells and starfish for decoration, and still does; he loves finding rare types. He also made a craft for Halloween once when he was younger that his mother still has; she puts it out every year without fail. (Azul also loved the bottles of bioluminescent algae that were a staple for Halloween in the Coral Sea - he thought they were beautiful. Now, he's wondering if he can make something similar that's more vibrant and profitable... But as it is a seasonal item, he isn't fully certain if he should try to go for it.)

He used to enjoy mushrooms but now every time he eats them, he is reminded of the two weeks of nonstop mushroom cuisine (due to Jade).

He knows how to play the piano, and has played in a band with Jade and Floyd (with Floyd on the drums and Jade on the bass). The eventual reason why they stopped was both because Floyd kept speeding up the tempo or doing his own thing without warning, and Azul and Jade found it difficult when rehearsals were nothing like the real event (Azul got really annoyed with Floyd, but Jade just went with it - Azul half-jokingly thinks that this is due to "twin telepathy"), as well as Azul getting busy with writing his contracts. Despite all the trouble, both Jade and Azul were able to change their music to fit with Floyd's. They did have a lot of fun in the band. Azul does admit that Floyd is exceptional on the drums, as well as the other instruments that he can play. Azul sometimes records himself playing the piano to create original music for the Mostro Lounge to play (and to suit the ambience he wants to create). Overall, the experience with improvising from the band has helped him play better pieces. He has also studied Music Theory extensively, also seeing if people on land listen to different types of music. He used to use the music as a form of escapism when he was younger, playing melodies and writing lyrics.

Azul hates wasting food (coming from his business sense, perhaps?) and he tries to waste as little as possible, having compost bins (Jade may have pressured him into having them, but hey, it helps). He has also made a little garden of sorts to grow some ingredients that they use frequently.

He often gets put on planning committees at NRC; he enjoys this and always is trying to make the highest profit possible for Mostro Lounge and himself.

He follows by the saying "haste makes waste."

He's always cautious and wary of traps.

He has stock investments, which he checks on regularly; he enjoys reading the morning and evening papers that focus on world and economic news.

On his days off, he often leaves campus under the pretense of market research.

He hates getting protected because that would mean that he's seen as weak.

When taking tests, he always looks through the whole thing and starts with the problems that are worth the most points.

He has played some video games before (due to Floyd's insisting that he should do so) but he never took much interest in them unless they were dealing with business (which the type of games that Floyd chose weren't like that, so...)

He is currently abstaining from fried foods, but every time anyone offers him anything fried... He's half-drooling (not that he will show that) and hates himself every time he doesn't accept the offer.

He sighs a lot ("oh, the woes/struggles of a benevolent person")

He would rather not have candles on his cake as it ruins the presentation when you go to eat it (although he admits the candlelit flames can be pretty).

He doesn't understand pie-throwing for a birthday ritual; he wants to learn more about terrestrial customs, but he finds that many of them simply puzzle him.

He finds that many students become very reasonable once he puts on his dorm uniform... He finds this pretty amusing.

He always puts his right shoe on before his left shoe on the mornings he needs to be his best - it's mostly superstition, but one can never be too careful.

All of the furniture in Mostro Lounge is suited to Azul's tastes; saying they look bad would be akin to calling his taste in furniture bad.

Another interesting thing on land is cologne; he has a liking to it and enjoys researching different types to find even better ones.

He has studied how people on land dress (for quite some time), and the thing is - he usually loves formal and professional clothes. So you rarely find him in anything like a plain-colored t-shirt.

He still counts his calories, although not as obsessively as his middle school days. It bothers him that there are no calorie labels in the school cafeteria.

He hates the feeling of sweat on his skin - it makes him want to dive into the ocean to cool off.

He eats a proper diet, and makes sure that he gets all the nutrients he needs.

He was against camping in tents at first, but now he finds tents oddly soothing; they're similar to being in an octopus pot with how dark and snug inside they are.

He dressed up as a mummy for Halloween at Night Raven College mostly because he was unfamiliar with them (as it is impossible to be mummified underwater). He has accidentally tripped over the bandages.

He has sold off excess candy that he got at Halloween. It was a win-win situation.

He references dishes from his mother's restaurant for the limited-time menu for Mostro Lounge during holidays and other events.

He keeps his favorite coin in his pocket for good luck. It's not the one with the most value - it's the one he finds prettiest to look at. He takes great care not to misplace it.

He enjoys clothes with hoods, as he likes dark and confined spaces. He has also hidden in boxes as a child.

He enjoys intellectual work more than ceremony prepwork.

He enjoys the ceremony robes as more people take an interest in him when he is wearing them outside of school grounds.

He delivers lectures on efficient studying methods, and the sign-up sheet always gets filled.

He got prescription goggles for Alchemy (so he could see better and have eye protection).

He rarely uses writing instruments that make it hard to write a signature - after all, one never knows when one needs to make a contract.

He is absolutely amazing at making homemade medicine. Though it comes at a steep price.

He hates classes that are vague (such as Language Arts and art classes in general). He enjoys getting results that are clearly defined (such as classes in the science and math field). However, he still excels either way.

He thinks Alchemy is wonderful here because he can get so many different ingredients. (And add to that his access to private channels... He has so many experiments that he can try).

He usually uses parties as business opportunities.

He is often inspired by the Sea Witch and even has a snail shell badge on his hat after what she used to store her magic; he often wonders if he should store his own magic in the badge as well.

He often gets annoyed by Lucius (Trein's cat) because he won't be quiet. It's a waste of lecture time.

He hates stairs. He has tripped off of them multiple times when he started walking on land. And it always hurts painfully once he falls. At least his wind magic is good enough so he can right himself quickly, but still. It is such a pain.

He can use all of his limbs (eight arms + human arms) to write.

He's still trying to get Jamil to be friends with him. (Unfortunately, it isn't working.)

He has given a fancy cup to Idia for his birthday; on Azul's birthday, Idia has given him a board game that he's always wanted and played it with him.

He gave a shoeshine kit to Floyd for his birthday, and a large water tank (for use as a terrarium) to Jade; on Azul's birthday, Floyd and Jade pranked him (which happens every year). On a different occasion, they burst into his room and gave him a cake at midnight. Jade has also made a special brew of tea and given it to Azul (though he apparently looked very suspicious when he did that).

Ace has given a pillow (made of viscoelastic polyurethane foam) covered with a silk pillowcase to Azul on his birthday.

Azul gave some seasonings to Jamil for his birthday (that Jamil had wanted but never told anyone about)

Silver has offered to do anything for him on Azul's birthday because Azul lent him a textbook.

He's not good at dealing with the unexpected.

He dislikes Vargas because he does not perform well with tasks involving physical endurance, and Vargas is all about exercise/muscles.

He enjoys having a room to himself; although he didn't mind sharing a room with the tweels as a first-year, he had to admit the pranks were tiring.

He is wary of gestures of goodwill and unconditional kindness, believing that people are kind to just get something they want from him.

He can talk with animals; this power was one he had obtained via contract.

He is quite strong in his octopus form, as octopi are pure muscle (according to Floyd).

Azul has multiple hobbies and serves on many school committees; he hopes that this will help him make more connections and find new avenues that could lead to new business.

All mers who want to live on land go on a "land boot camp" which is a month-long course where they are taught the basics of living on land such as the types of food, what fire is, the importance of clothes, how to breathe and how to walk. Most mers don't actually end up living on the surface even though many want to. (This boot camp was founded by a mermaid princess from the Coral Sea who married a land prince (from the Sunshine Lands) and wanted to prevent the culture shock that she had suffered - the Sunshine Lands and mers have maintained friendly relations ever since the marriage). It is an excellent volunteer-run organization that accepts mers from all ways of life, and if asked for, can provide transformation potions for free (but that is only for "promising youth"). Azul thought the offer was too good to be true, but he eventually realized that the founder did it out of the goodness of their heart. (There aren't many mers who want to go on land anyway, so they can cover the high cost without going bankrupt - still, they want more mers to use their services to spread kindness (as kindness leads to more kindness)). He put in an application there as soon as he got accepted into Night Raven College.

He memorizes both the revenue and gross profit from Mostro Lounge for each day.

He sometimes gets put into despair when he has only a few customers.

He and Jade share a healthy rivalry.

Jade helps inform Azul of what is going on in the school so he can keep track of everybody.

Floyd has hydrodipped one of Azul's hats before, and Azul was definitely not pleased about it; he magically returned it to its original state without even putting it on.

Rook has said that Azul has the makings of a fine hunter.

He would take any opportunity to get ahead of others.

He is not embarrassed to admit that he does not excel at exercising. However, this is a sensitive subject for him, as he often snaps at naturally athletic people and says things like "what would you know of my suffering."

He would never willingly do something to devalue the information he has, preferring to not do more than what is necessary.

He enjoys gathering intel.

He can be bribed fairly easily.

He became a housewarden around 6-7 months after the school year had started.

He will not give up on his dreams. Period. Some of his dreams include being valedictorian, opening a second Mostro Lounge branch, starting a delivery business, selling tableware, running a hotel, and getting into the leisure industry.

He's good at math, specifically Algebra. More specifically, Systems of Equations. He has to be good at them to calculate sales and whatnot, after all.

He dominates class discussions. It's not his fault, he has a lot of ideas and enjoys analyzing things.

He does tend to make fun of his underclassmen, especially if they tease him first.

He’s not super good at romantic stuff? He isn’t really used to it, after all, and social interaction was something that he sorely lacked during his childhood (including having crushes, obviously, because he was bullied and then focused on his studies). After getting a romantic partner (or before he confessed, or when he got a crush, etc), he watched a lot of romantic movies and read romantic novels to see how people would act with their romantic partner. He’s seen how his mother & step-father acts with each other, but he wanted to know more (for “research purposes”).

During the relationship, he’s a very very sweet partner, and he tries his best to take care of his partner and treat them well. He’s not big on PDA; he’s more affectionate when he’s alone with the person he loves. (His main love languages are acts of service and quality time, he’ll give gifts but he wants them to appear more thoughtful (so on special occasions, unless it’s like free drinks from the Mostro Lounge), and he does give some words of affirmation. Physical touch isn’t something he does often (his partner will most likely be more physically affectionate with him than he is)).

If Minako were to wear the Dormleaders/Housewarden's uniforms/outfits (not the school uniforms), what would be her opinion on each?

Minako has already worn the Heartslabyul dorm uniform for the first Unbirthday party of the year. She adores the outfit, but she prefers the Alice frock for the Revenge Unbirthday.

Savanaclaw's dorm outfit is... not really her style. It looks great, but Minako isn't really into the rugged approach.

Minako could probably make Octavinelle's outfit work. She doesn't wear tuxedos or fedoras often, but she loves the scarf.

She likes the looseness of Scarabia's dorm outfits, but not so much the lack of sleeves. Because of her curse, there's usually a need to hide arms if they get curse marks.

Minako doesn't know how to feel about the Pomefiore dorm outfit. It's lovely, don't get her wrong, but the ensemble is difficult to put on and gets caught into things easily. How do Vil and Rook go about their day, not getting a sleeve snagged onto a door handle?

Minako actually likes the slick design of Ignihyde's outfit. She's not exactly Ignihyde material (she loves the outdoors), but there is a small part of her that's infatuated with futuristic aesthetics.

As for Diasomnia's dorm outfit, Minako's opinions are pretty much the same as Pomfiore's. Looks great, but also difficult to wear with all those buckles. She wonders how Silver and Sebek are still able to fight in their clothes. Plus, I don't think she's into military aesthetics all that much, either. Thankfully, Lilia's there to help her stylize the outfit in the way she wants.

10/10 he’s so majestic like look at the hair! And the font makes me happy, he shares a birthday with my friend and it’s 2 days before mine. He’s rocking that outfit and the jacket fits him well, the badges are pleasing to look at and it’s Vil.

9/10 the font throws me off but I think I like it. Rook literally can pull off fedoras and caps so well, the science club badge annoys me still but Rook looks amazing and is smiling in a somewhat not creepy way.

10/10 he looks so cute??? I mean not is much as Ortho but he looks amazing??? The font annoys me but his ratness makes up for it, his ponytail is so fucking cute! And the cap!! Bro pulls it off.

Diasomnia!

8/10 Mal Mal is adorable and all, that waistcoat is genuinely my favourite, but the mix of cute and wet dog is too much, I love it. HIS LITTLE CLUB BADGE OH MY GOD- the font is funky in a good way and his nails are painted. I’d actually straighten his bow tie, dust off his jacket and tell him that whoever his date is are very lucky to have him, my son! Like??? He’s such a swaggy gentleman???

10/10! He’s got the bat-goth vibe and I love it! Peepaw is looking very stylish and amazing, though I don’t know if he’s posing like he’s an instagram girl or he’s an old man who lost his cane. Still, he is a viable old bat.

8/10 he looks a little stoic but that’s just Silver! I’d hug him (book 7…) though the font is weird it’s enjoyable.

Floyd Leech is a second-year student in Octavinelle. He's Jade's twin but their attitude and speech are totally different. He's kind of unpredictable so it's difficult to know what he's thinking.

Floyd has turquoise hair, with a longer, darker strand on his right. His eyes have heterochromia iridum; his right eye is yellow, while his left eye is olive. He wears a blue earring on his right ear that is made from sturgeon scales, which are popular as lucky charms in the Coral Sea. Jade Leech, has a matching one that he wears on his right ear.

He wears a black fedora with a light grey bow around it with a purple seashell on the bow. His outfit consists of a lilac dress shirt, an unbuttoned black double-breasted suit, a cool-toned grey scarf with the Octavinelle logo on it, and white gloves. He also wears purple socks and is seen wearing black slacks accompanied by a pair of black and white dress shoes.

He wears his outfit much looser than his twin, seen by his undone collar buttons and bowtie. His suit has much more visible wrinkles than those of the other two Octavinelle members. In addition, his pants seem to have a shorter hem than Jade's, as the ends don't go over his shoes and his socks are visible.

Floyd first comes off as very laid back and lazy. He seems to get along with everyone, though these interactions are at times one-sided (ex. enjoys "playing"/interacting with (or more precisely, teasing) Riddle, but Riddle dislikes being noticed by him and wishes to avoid him as much as he can). His mannerisms and sometimes his speech patterns are occasionally like that of a stereotypical delinquent.

A quirk of his is giving people nicknames based on sea life, often using what he feels fits them best even if they protest about it.

Another important thing to keep note of is the nature of Floyd's infamous mood swings. He won't hesitate to drop something and leave the scene if he decides it's boring or not worth the time/effort, and on the flip side, he appears somewhat dedicated to (or at the very least good at) the things that catch his interest. As this stands, he's prone to doing things on impulse simply because he wants to do them.

Like Jade, he's capable of quite the sadistic streak. He tends to be the "muscle" of the duo, opting to squeeze people silly when ordered to and/or allowed.

Heartslabyul uniform my nemesis… I would never be allowed to come to an unbirthday party, seeing them wearing it would tip me over the edge. Waistcoat and jacket over a wide neck T-shirt is so unbelievably foul. You can see the shirt bunching too it’s not even fitted, every single one is baggy 🤢.

And Octavinelle can tip their fedoras but have you Seen Trey? pre tipped, m’lady o’clock every hour, looks ready to fly off with a slight breeze. Now really that’s a him problem, but Riddle wears his crown off centre too.. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was one of the million highly specific dorm rules that wearing anything on your head in a normal way is illegal.

I don’t even want to get started on the perfectly fitted formal trousers that bunch at the bottom because all these freaks insist on wearing high tops and then don’t even bother to tuck anything in. RIDDLE WAS TOO LENIENT. I WANT THESE BOYS EXECUTED FR !!!

The World's Prettiest Restaurant

Deuce decided he would go to Mostro Lounge on Saturday afternoon.

He stood outside the Octavinelle mirror with nervousness and guilt gnawing at him- a side affect of disobeying his dorm leader.

On the bright side, he didn't feel nervous about talking to Jade Leech. The Leech twins were infamous and rumours about them spread across compass like wildfire, however, those were just rumours and Deuce could handle himself just fine, thank you. At least he hoped so.

As he gazed at the shining, silver mirror he realised he had never been in Octavinelle before.

Well, he always did like seeing new things.

Deuce stepped into the portal and shut his eyes to shield them from the blinding light of the transportation magic. When he opened them again he was standing in a long, empty hallway.

Deuce knew Octavinelle was underwater, but the sight of sea floor outside the large glass windows still shocked him.

Feeling like he was in one of those aquarium tunnels, Deuce walked up to the glass and depressed his face against it.

There was an actual coral reef outside. Sunlight streamed down all the way to the soft sandy floor, the light catching on vibrant corals and flashy fish. The flish flitted to and fro, dipping through the seaweed and rubbing against the soft seagrass.

Deuce pulled away from the window and slowly walked to the end of the hall, turning his his haid to stare at everything around him in awe.

He reached a fork at the end of the hallway and blinked. On the wall in front of him hung a black sign with curling purple script.

There were two arrows. One pointed left with "Dormitory (Octavinelle students only)" written above it. The other pointed right with "Mostro Lounge" also written above it.

Deuce turned right and entered the lounge through the open oak doors and stopped short, frozen.

Mostro Lounge was amazing.

Soft jazz flowed into Deuce's ears like honey, the wonderful aroma of delicious food invaded his nostrils, and his eyes were assaulted with perhaps the prettiest restaurant he had ever seen.

The tables were solid oak with smooth white table tops. A pretty lamp in the shape of a nautilis shell sat delicately on each one. The seats were fine leather, a perfectly polished brown complimenting the table perfectly.

A spotless tiled floor reflected the blues of the lights shining above. The lights in question were shaped like jellyfish and carefully attached to curling tentacles protruding from the ceiling.

Stairs, lined with neon blue lightning, led up to more tables. Behind those tables was a huge glass wall, the clarity allowing Deuce to see the beauty of the sea behind it. To the right was a... bar? Did they sell alcohol here? It was long and lined with high stools. The shelves at the back filled with various containers of unknown stuff that Deuce almost wanted to try.

The lounge was crowded with people- students of various dorms and ages talking and laughing, creating a lovely hubbub of muffled voices and distant laughter.

A student created all of this? That was... that was incredible. Deuce was in awe of him.

"Good afternoon, sir."

A soft voice made Deuce jolt. He turned to see a guy who was quite possibly the smallest teenager he'd ever seen in his life, looking at him. He was shorter than Riddle and Epel!

Shocks of turquoise streaked through dark green locks (they looked almost like seaweed) and a pair of turquoise eyes gleamed in the light. He wore the Octavinelle uniform, which was also the staff uniform. Suspenders, a bowtie, the fedora, the whole shebang.

A pair of wireless earphones were just barely noticeable, the little buds hiding well in the dim lighting. Was that even allowed?

"Do you have a reservation, sir?"

It took far too long for the words to fully process, and when they finally did Deuce panicked.

"Huh? Me? OH- uh- no, I've never been here before, I-"

"Alright, then." The staff member sent a close-lipped smile his way. "I'm Finn Clearcove. I will be your waiter for today. Right this way, please."

Deuce wordlessly followed Finn to the nearest open table dazed. It was quite close to the bar and had a good view of the glass wall. Deuce was surprised it was open, given the glass wall spot should be popular, but as he looked around he realised all the tables near the bar were mysteriously empty.

Why?

Deuce got seated there anyways and a menu was placed in front if him. It, just like everything else here, was fancy and pretty.

The pages were black with sleek dark purple writing sprawling nearly across the pages. A gold nautilis was printed on the bottom of each page, and the prices were also printed in gold ink.

The options, paired with incredibly well done photos, made Deuce's stomach growl, his mouth water and his wallet cry out in terror.

Why was everything so expensive?

"Would you like to order?" Finn's soft voice made Deuce jolt again.

"Oh! Uh- for a drink get I get the- uh-" He looked at the menu. "The Crystal Tide please? It looks nice."

Finn sent another close-lipped smile his way. "Excellent choice. Would you like anything to eat?"

"The uh..." Deuce scoured the menu for the cheapest option. "The mushroom risotto, please."

Finn paused, looking at Deuce incredulously, before snapping back to to customer service mode and writing down his order. "Alright, thank you."

Finn turned to leave and Deuce stared after him, watching his tiny form become swallowed by the fray before realising he forgot to ask about Jade Leech.

Damn it.

Well, it was fine. Deuce would surely run into the vice dorm leader eventually . It wasn't like he would be hard to spot. From what hewas told, Jade was uncannily tall, had short, silky turquoise hair with a long thick black stripe framing the left side of his face, gold and olive heterochromatic eyes and a set of sharp teeth.

If Deuce missed someone like that, he would probably go see an optometrist.

The clinking of glasses at the bar suddenly caught his attention.

It was as if the Great Seven themselves heard his plight.

Deuce turned his head at the sound and there, leaning over the bar, was a staff member matching Jade's exact description.

"Ugh..." Jade groaned and half-heartedly fiddled with the various drinks on display, baring his teeth and frowning unhappily.

He... didn't look like a vice dorm leader.

His bowtie was loose and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, leaving his collarbones in the open for all to see. His jacket was completely unbuttoned and loose, showing off the suspenders underneath. The one right suspender thingy was hanging off his shoulder.

"Stupid Azul, makin' me do boring bar duty. I wanna cook."

He didn't sound like a vice dorm leader either.

Deuce stared at him for a long time before awkwardly clearing his throat. "Um... excuse me, Jade-senpai?"

There was a beat of silence.

Jade stopped what he was doing and slowly turned his head in Deuce's direction. Their eyes locked and suddenly every part of Deuce's body screamed at him to run.

"Oi." The Leech growled, voice low. "I'm Floyd, not Jade."

Deuce's jaw dropped open and he wondered how he could be so stupid as to forget that Jade had an identical twin brother?

A very angry identical twin brother at that.

Floyd glowered and leaned forward so the he stretched over the bar table. "The hell do you want, Mackerel?"

Mackerel?

"A-Actually my name is Deu-"

"Don't care." Floyd hissed. "You remind me of a mackerel so Mackerel it is."

Before Deuce could even think of how to answer that Finn arrived with his drink, silent and startling (but polite) as ever.

The Crystal Tide was- just like everything else at Mostro Lounge- a fancy, beautiful and pricy drink that made Deuce salivate.

It was filled with flavoured ice and the liquid was made up of three colours

Light red at the bottom, pink in the middle, and purple and blue at the top.

Floyd had gone silent, watching the exchange with a bored expression before focusing on Finn.

"Blue Angel, why don't you give Mackerel here your million madol smile?"

Finn shot Floyd a dirty look. "Hello, Floyd. And no. I will not." Despite the irritation seeping into his tone, his voice remained soft and subdued, but firm.

"Aww, but your teeth are sooo petty~!"

Deuce took Floyd's change of focus to take a sip of his drink and his eyes widened. A wonderful, fruity flavour flowed onto his tongue and made his taste buds dance in joy. How did they even make this stuff?

"Floyd, I don't have time for this, I have work to do." Finn hissed, and then he quickly turned around and left before Floyd get another word in.

Floyd glowered, disappointed, before focusing on Deuce again. "Anyways." He said, teeth glinting dangerously. "The hell do you want with Jade?"

Deuce swallowed. "I uh- I wanted go talk to him about making a contract with the dorm leader. I was told you need to go him to schedule a meeting."

Floyd went quiet once again and stared at Deuce for an uncomfortably long time before tilting his head back and letting out an exaggerated, mocking laugh.

"Hah! I see, I see. You want those study notes cause you ain't got the brains to pass those baby level first year exams?"

"Hey!" If Floyd didn't set off so many warning bells Deuce would've gotten up and punched him. "That's a terrible thing to say! How do you even know I'm a first year?"

Floyd shrugged. "You've still got that spark of life in your eyes." He said cryptically.

"Oh." Deuce said, like an idiot. He awkwardly drummed his fingers against the table, unsure of how to proceed.

"So- uh- anyways, when can I talk to Jade?"

Floyd rolled his eyes. "Dunno. He's busy. Currently in a world of bliss cause some poor moron ordered the mushroom risotto."

Deuce blinked at him, confused. "You say that like it's a bad thing..?"

"Well yeah, it's-" Floyd stopped mid sentence and squinted at Deuce. Then there was a spark of realisation in his eyes. "Oh shit, you ordered the risotto, didn't you? Hah! That's a riot!"

Deuce glared at him. "Y-"

"Here is your mushroom risotto, sir." Finn's sudden appearance made him jump out of his skin.

"Great Seven, how do you do that?!"

Floyd laughed again. The high-pitched, wheezey sound rattled Deuce's ears.

"Ehehe, Blue Angel's a sneaky cookie." He drawled, smirking at Finn. "He's so tiny and quiet nobody notices him!"

Finn let out a huff, but his expression was more fond than annoyed like before. He ignored the Leech, instead turning to Deuce.

"Do you need anything else?"

Deuce shook his head. "No, it's okay."

Finn bowed his head and promptly left, leaving him alone with Floyd once more.

"As I was saying." Deuce took a sip of that lovely drink. "Why's ordering mushroom risotto so bad?"

Floyd pulled a face. "Cause mushrooms are gross and the more people order it, the more mushrooms'll be put on the menu. And also, Jade has a weird kink for watching people eat his mushroom dishes."

Deuce balked. "He what-"

A soft chuckle stopped Deuce from fully voicing his horror.

"Now now, Floyd, you needn't be so crude."

The actual Jade Leech stood next to Deuce, smiling in amusement. He, unlike Floyd, wore the uniform properly- neat and pressed and so perfect it could give Riddle a run for his money.

Olive and gold eyes settled on Deuce, shining with something sinister.

"Go on." Jade coaxed. "Take a bite. I would love to hear your feedback.

Deuce obediently raised a forkful of risotto to his mouth and Floyd made a loud noise of disgust.

Deuce took a bite and for a second be was sure he had died and gone to heaven.

It was delicious! What was Floyd talking about? This was amazing!

Jade eyes gleamed in the low light and his sharp teeth just barely poked out from his lips. Eager.

"What do you think?"

"It's delicious!" Deuce said, delighted.

"I'm glad you think so." Jade's smile was a just a smidge more genuine and his voice sounded floaty. "Those mushrooms were grown and harvested by yours truly."

"Woah!" Deuce gaped. "That's really cool, Leech-senpai!"

"Why thank you."

"Ugh." Floyd gagged. "Enough with the mushroom talk! Jade, Mackerel here wants an appointment with Azul."

"Oh I see." The smile became fake again. "You just need to fill in a little form so that I may contact you with a date and time."

Deuce nodded and when Jade left to get the form he took the opportunity to shovel more delicious risotto into his mouth, much to Floyd's dismay.

Jade returned swiftly and handed Deuce a sheet of paper.

It didn't take too long to fill it in. Name, grade, class, club, cellphone number, and so on. That sort of thing. Deuce handed the form back to Jade with a thank you and the Leech disappeared yet again.

Floyd let out a groan and slumped on the bar table, watching Deuce finish the risotto with a look of disgust.

Finn reappeared to take Deuce's empty plate and glass- giving him another fright- and then offered him the bill.

Deuce mourned the chunk taken out of his pocket money, thanked Finn and Floyd for their help, and left to his dorm with a spring in his step.

Just as he arrived in his room, his phone went off, and he checked it to see a message from Jade.

"Good day Deuce-san. This is Jade. You my come to Mostro Lounge on the 15th of July at 18:30. Don't be late."

Deuce put his phone down and just barely stopped himself from squealing, opting to laugh and fall back on his bed instead, smiling in relief.

Finally, things were looking up. Once he got those study notes his life would be nothing but smooth sailing.

He was sure of it.

I love how you draw the tweels and Azul. They look so imposing in your art style! I know you love drawing Ignihyde, Octavinelle and Scarabia boys a lot, but I'm curious if you have drawings of the rest of the twst cast as well. I'd love to see everyone in your art style!

Anon! Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad you like how I draw the Octa-boys. I’m not even sure which dorm I draw most often, but it has to be either them or Ignihyde haha. But in all honesty, I really love drawing all the characters; even if we don’t care much about them, they are usually still quite pleasant to draw at least once.

Which is why I can actually compile my drawings of pretty much every character in this reply! It’s honestly surprising lol but also not really. I can’t believe it’s been a year since we started drawing and posting twst…

Alright, here we go!

Heartslabyul – wow, I can’t believe I don’t have any coloured Aces that are relatively new… We like Ace a lot, I should probably draw him. And Cater too, to be honest, this is my only coloured sketch with him. I never expected to enjoy drawing these boys as much as I do, to be honest.

Savanaclaw – Leona is the only character I don’t have a proper sketch that is not a commission with lol I’m sorry. But I actually quite like the comms of Leona that I got to draw, so here is one of them! I also really enjoyed drawing Ruggie, I should do it again… And Jack too…

Octavinelle – aw yis yakuza fishies babyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Come on, you know I love these guys lol Whenever I look at them I feel at home. It’s a shame I don’t draw them wearing fedoras (for some reason I’m still intimidated by fedoras), because I love everything about their dorm uniforms.

Scarabia – I also don’t feel like I draw these two often enough, but their uniform is probably the most difficult one to draw, simply because of all the details and prints and gold and accessories. But it’s so worth it!... I also think that Jamil is the prettiest snake in the world.

Pomefiore – it’s stupid how long it took me to find a Rook that doesn’t look creepy in my drawings lol I really love this side of him. I also really enjoy drawing Vil, but whenever I do, I feel intimidated. I just can’t mess him up..! But if the Vil that I drew ends up looking good, I get so emotional that I cry (not a 100% lie)

Ignihyde – picking an Idia and an Ortho out of hundreds of sketches of Idia and Ortho was more challenging that I thought it would be, so I picked these because I still really like their faces and think they’re cute! I also can’t get enough of them… to this day… Their hair, their teeth, everything.

Diasomnia – I feel like whenever I draw these guys we have an urge to make it into an art, this is why we have a lot of finished rendered artworks with them. Their aesthetic is just… super fitting for all kinds of dark and gothic stuff. I also adore drawing their eyes!!! All of them have such pretty eyes.

The teachers – if you feel the urge to laugh at Crowley for only getting a black and white sketch, I encourage you to also laugh at Vargas for not being here at all… I think he is the only character that I’m missing, huh.

Others – bonus round! I actually also have a sketch of Fellow Honest and Gidel but by the time I remembered them I got tired of making this thing lol, and we haven’t watched the event yet anyway, so they’ll get their chance to shine some other time (you can find it on my ko-fi though). Meleanor is also here, and I honestly I would be happy to draw every twst mom at some point… And other minor characters too…

But not the dwarves; screw them (just kidding I might draw them too at some point).
