Malleus

Mal and Lilia were having a nice conversation in the Diasomnia lounge abt whatever they talk abt

then you just waltzed in, tugged at Malleus's coat, and said,

"Come with me big brother, i needa' show you somethin'..."

He was in shock but followed you anyway

leaving Lilia behind to almost have a heart attack from how cute that was

You two ended up in the backyard of Ramshackle where there was a small patch of dirt lined with many rocks that all very in size

you had shown him your very own garden that Ruggie and Deuce helped you start

nothing had grown yet but you were still quite proud and puffed your chest as you awaited Mal's response.

Malleus chuckled in amusement,

you had come all the way to Diasomnia just to show him your garden

it warmed his heart, especially since he knew how much you hated going through the mirror gates alone

yet you still did just to come to get him

you must truly see him as your big brother then...

He patted your head and said,

"This is very impressive, little sibling. Please do tell me about all of what you are growing."

Jack

Jack was just minding his own business, happily eating his lunch

when you came out of nowhere and clung onto his tail with no warning

this was far from the first time though

so he just sighed and continued eating

and you, still with your arms locked around his tail, plopped onto the empty bench area next to him

"*sigh* what are you doing Yuu?"

you just inaudibly mumbled into his tail with a yawn and curled onto yourself, using his fluff as a makeshift pillow

"Really Yuu? Common, you shouldn't be taking naps in the middle of-"

he was cut off by more of your mumbling, but this time he caught on to a certain sentence

"Noooo, big brotheerrrr, lemmee sleeep"

Jack instantly stopped in his tracks

he got hit with a massive wave of nostalgia from when his little sibling called him that for the first time while they were learning to talk.

He didn't have the heart because it was now a pile of mush to stop you and ended up being late for his next class

its rly hard to carry a child thats clinging onto your tail.

Rook

You were once again trying to steal Rook's hat

he was hunting a certain eel when you just popped out of nowhere a took his hat

he found it quite amusing

and was very proud that you had managed to sneak up on him.

He playfully chased you all throughout the campus

which lead to you climbing up a rather tall tree

and Rook knew almost instantly something bad was going to happen

and just as he was going to warn you, you slipped and ended up falling

Rook was quick to catch you

and you clung onto him while crying with your face shoved into his shoulder

he was sat under the tree while rubbing you back and reassuring you everything was ok now

when you had mostly calmed down you looked up at him and said,

"*sniff* Thank you, big brother..."

"Hehe, it was my pleasure, dear little trickster!"

Rook stood up, picked up his hat that landed a little ways away, placed it on your little head,

and took you to Pomefiore to get you cleaned up.

He's quite pleased with the nickname you gave him, though he is interested to see who else you refer to that as, there must be many.

Sebek

Sebek had been dragged to yet another sleepover at Ramshackle by the rest of the first years

they do this at least once a month.

Rn, he was pouting on the couch while everyone was just talking and hanging out a lil ways away

you had gotten board so you grabbed a chair to prop up behind the couch

Sebek was already well aware of your plan, you had done this hundreds of times and were never able to stay too quiet abt it

you quickly wrapped your arms around his neck and yelled,

"Sneak attack!"

ok- its not rly yelling but its loud for you.

and Sebek stood up, with you still hanging on, and took your little arms to propel you forward as he shot down

you were thrown onto the couch with Sebek still holding your arms waiting for you to tap out.

You loved trying to wrestle with him when you were hyper, it's where you learned this cool barrel roll trick.

When you didn't tap out just kept trying to do said barrel roll, so Sebek opted to tickle you

which worked, after a minute you just started trying to tap out while saying

"Ok-Ok-Ok!! You win big brother! You win!!"

He just huffed and sat back down with a victory smile

It wasn't until 3 days later that he realized what you had called him while he was recounting the incident to Lilia

and he had no clue what to feel.

And Lilia had another heart attack

Grim

You and Grim have always had a lot more in common than either of you really knew,

neither of you has any family

both of you grew up taking care of yourself

and both grew up on the streets with little food.

When Grim first learned of your habit, he just thought it was funny,

he didn't judge you nor did he care why you did it at the time

I mean, he often used his fire against people so he really has no room to talk.

It wasn't until around the end of book 2 that he started to learn more about his little roomie.

Grim was exhausted, after Leona's overblot earlier that day he wanted nothing more than to wrap up in the old dusty blanket the two of you shared. But he couldn't do that without you- not that he'd ever willingly admit it, but he had gotten used to sleeping with your small arms wrapped around him and he quite enjoyed it- but that's not the point.

He has no clue where you are, he walked with you into Ramshackle a little while ago but hasn't seen you since. With a defeated sigh he stomped back into your shared room having given up looking for you and decided to just suck it up and try and sleep...

Carefully opening his eyes, Grim looked around the room to try and find the source of the sniffling. He nearly started crying out himself when he realized the quiet weeping was coming from under the bed. The last thing he was expecting to see under the bed when he eventually gathered the courage to look, was his young companion curled in on themself, their small form shaking either from the crying or maybe due to the constant chill that always lingered in the poorly insulated house, perhaps it was both.

"Hey, kid-" even though he kept his voice to a whisper he still managed to startle the small human. "...um...you alright..?" There was a twinge of guilt in Grim that he couldn't ignore when he saw their messy face.

You didn't answer, only staring at the firey creature, with big eyes that shined bright with the reflection of Grim's flams and a messy wet face. He never really expected a response, you were never much of a talker, but he was a little hopeful.

"I can't believe I'm doing this.." Grim grumbled in defeat when that guilty feeling in his chest won and he grabbed the blanket and pillow off the bed and climbed under the bed next to you. Before you could react, he pushed the pillow toward you and shimmied the blanket on you, and laid under it right next to you.

That night was when he learned about your short life before Twisted Wonderland,

that you had no family, and you lived on the streets

he was able to connect the dots as to why you always bite people.

"So you bite people that you think will hurt you, or others?"

"...yeah?...I guess...."

The two of you fell asleep under the bed that night, but don't worry, the ghost found you and pull you both back onto the bed

making sure to tuck you in.

After that, Grim was noticeably a lot more protective and worried a lot more about you

he had taken it upon himself to make sure you were ok and safe and that you knew

he didn't want you to feel the need to bite people anymore

no matter how funny it was.

"Hey! Kid- What I say about biting people!? If someone makes you feel uneasy come to the great and powerful Grim! I'll roast 'em for ya."

Ace

Ace found it funny, be it a bit weird, when you bit people

but was extremely annoyed when you bit him.

It had to have been about the beginning of book 3 when Ace was informed of your reasoning.

"Ugghh..." Ace ground as he leaned his forearms on the Lounge countertop, exhausted from all the work he was forced to endure as punishment. Looking to his left he saw Grim uncharacteristically focused as he scrubbed the ever-growing dish pile.

"What's up with you?" He questioned, grabbing a dish to scrub so as to not face one of the Leech brother's punishments for slacking off. Ace was met with silence from the glowing cat-monster-thing. "Hey! Twisted Wonderland to Grim~ You there? ...what's up with you?..."

Grim was pulled out of his thoughts when Ace's hand came into his line of sight. "Huh? What 'cha say?"

Ace sighed, "I said, What up with you? You seem more distracted than normal"

"Oh... uh.. I was just..." Grim trailed off, searching for the words, but Ace took quick notice of the lack of snap back to his 'distracted' comment. "...Do you think they're okay? Yuu... I mean.."

Ace was taken aback by Grim's voiced worry for you. Yeah, he had taken notice of the small monster's growing protectiveness and worry of you during the past couple of weeks, but hearing him openly express it was... out of character for the creature.

"Well yeah of course they are. Besides if they're in a pinch, we know they'll just bite their way out of it." Ace lightly chuckled, expecting Grim to do the same. Only to be met with a curt nod and a quiet "...yeah. I guess..." and silence. Ace decided not to push it any longer...

That interaction stayed with Ace for the next couple of days

he wouldn't admit it but, he was slightly worried,

he could tell something had happened.

Until he was given some clarification a few days after when he got the chance to talk to you privately.

Ace found the small violent child sitting alone on a bench in the courtyard eating an apple he assumed they managed to get from one of the many trees. Taking the chance of a biting, he sat next to them which they took quick notice of, and stopped eating, looking up at him expectantly. If he didn't know better he would have said their big eyes were full of adorable childhood innocence, but he did know better, at least... that's what he thought.

"Soooo... how have you been?.." Ace had no clue what to say, and he could tell the kid knew that too due to the skeptical look they gave him. Taking a deep breath, be decided to just be blunt instead of beating around the bush.

"Ok- I'll just cut to the chase. What the hel- heck.." Ace sighed at the unintentional correction of himself, not liking that he unconsciously followed Riddle's rule of not cussing around the little shit, while he was not even around not less! *cough* um- anyway,,, "Just...what happened with you and Grim?" they tilted their small head in confusion "You know, he's gotten.. I think protective of you let's say and is worrying a lot more over you. I mean, just a few days ago he was asking if I thought you were okay while we were at the lounge."

Ace glanced down at them, not really expecting the surprised flustered look that was on their face. He found it... almost adorable, and he had a sudden urge to pat their head and pinch their cheek for some reason?

"...I think.. it might have something to do with what we talked about a few weeks ago.." Their small voice barely made it to Ace's ears, like they were talking more to themself than him.

"What did you talk about..?" Ace's tone was softer as his curiosity peaked, but a worrying feeling also grew alongside it.

And that my dear reader, is how Ace Trappola's heart grew two sizes bigger

I kid, I kid

kinda.

But that is how he learned of his small friend's life, and subsequently, their reasoning for their biting.

He had a twinge of guilt in his chest listening to their story, and he did give in to the urge to pat their head

it was really the only way he could think of comforting you in that moment.

After that, he started seeing Yuu in a new light,

instead of a little shit that he kinda wanted to punt

he started seeing an actual kid, and a scared one at that

Ace also understood Grim protectiveness and worry.

...He may have felt the same..

There was a growing feeling in his chest that made him want to keep that small content smile on your face for as long as he could.

Deuce

Deuce has always had a sense of duty when it came to Yuu

he thought he saw his younger self in them and, he felt he had to be a good role model for them.

He found out only a couple days after Ace.

Deuce stared at the sheet of paper on the desk in frustration, he had no clue what the answer to the written question was, with what little free time for studying he had he did his best to memorize the book, but that didn't work. He especially couldn't figure it out the constant clicking coming from the fire monster next to him.

After the test was finished Deuce tried to talk to Grim and ask him about the clicking, but the small creature quickly left as soon as he could, and Deuce followed soon after. He followed Grim out of the classroom and down the hall a bit unit the monster spotted the small child sitting against the wall, playing with their now untied bow.

"There you are! I thought I told you to wait right outside the classroom." Grim huffed as he made his way next to them, grabbing the long fabric and neatly tying it back around their wrist. Yuu wasn't allowed to take any of the tests or anything like that, they were only permitted to sit in on lectures and answer a couple questions from the professors. Deuce had too started to take notice of the difference in Grim's behavior toward the little kid in the past few weeks. At first, he didn't think much of it, barely even noticing until Ace pointed it out a little while ago. He didn't see any problem in it, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't curious about the cause.

Deuce continued to watch the duo's interaction before they walked down the hall toward the next class.

Deuce decided the best course of action was to talk to Ace and try to make a plan

but when he went to the redhead, all he got from him was a sigh and instruction to talk to you himself

he was confused but did as he was told and looked for you the next day.

Deuce sighed in relief when he saw Yuu trying to climb a tree in the courtyard, seemingly trying for an apple. Walking up behind them, he reached for an apple and placed it in their small hands, which they happily accepted. As they were eating the red apple, Deuce took the chance to talk.

"Hey Yuu, could I ask you a few questions?" He spoke in the soft voice he always used with them as he knelt down to their height. They glanced at the teen and nodded.

"Well, I've noticed that Grim has been acting a bit weird...and Ace too.. now that I think about it... Do you know anything about that? I originally asked Ace about it, but he just told me to talk to you..." Deuce trailed off, trying to connect what he could and figure it out himself. A part of him didn't think Yuu would know anything or even have noticed anything, they were a little kid after all.

"oh.." Deuce looked back at you, expectantly waiting for your answer "It might have somethin' to do with what I told them a little while ago,,, but I'm not really sure why they're acting weird.." He was caught off guard, that was probably the longest sentence you've used, with him at least. Deuce leaned towards you so he could hear your small voice better.

Deuce was not expecting the explanation Yuu gave him

he felt guilty for thinking they were just a misbehaving child like he was.

Tears spilled out of his eyes and he pulled them into an almost bone-crushing hug

he refused to leave their side for a long while after that, even trying to stay at Savanaclaw with them and Grim.

He still wants to be the best role model he can be for you, that never changes.

Ruggie

Ruggie saw a lot of himself in Yuu, but couldn't quite place why? other than the aggressive biting and love for food

but he didn't question it much, not thinking it was of any importance and not his business

besides, he thought of them as somewhat of an annoyance for the first month or so of school so he didn't care much to figure it out.

But he was soon given that explanation,

around the end of book 3, shortly before winter break.

It was the last day of Yuu's stay at Savanaclaw and they had been helping out Ruggie a bit with some of his chores. Right now they were helping him hang the laundry on the wire to dry, 'helping' as in they handed him the clips and sometimes articles of clothing.

"Why do we hang 'em?" "So they dry." "Why do they dry? and how?"

Yuu was uncharacteristically talkative today, it kind of made sense, they were at that age where they asked questions about everything cause they didn't know anything, and he was doing something that they may have never seen before.

They continued to ask questions and Ruggie continued to answer them, with Yuu following him all throughout the day. He didn't really mind, some of the kids back home would do the same thing so he was pretty used to this. That all lead to them to the dorm kitchen later in the day, helping Ruggie make Leona's dinner. Ruggie would tell Yuu what to grab for him and they would oblige and ask what it was for.

"Grab the seasoning that has a red cap, looks a little bit like tea and smells like the forest mixed with pepper." Ruggie instructed, not looking up from the bowl

"R..Ruos....Ruse..murry....?" Ruggie turned toward them, surprised by their trying to read the name, and was met with their expectant eyes waiting for confirmation, to which he nodded and took the seasoning.

"Were you trying to read the label?" Ruggie asked, "Yeah.." Yuu confirmed "Huh... Well, good job. You were close, it's pronounced 'Rosemary'" They only nodded and continued to wait for the next instruction.

Yuu trying to read the label lasted for a little while until Ruggie got curious as to how they got so good at pronouncing them. Well pronouncing them for their age, they weren't supposed to start learning to read for about another year. Of course, there's nothing bad about starting early, it's just strange...

"Hey Yuu, where did you learn to read so well?" Ruggie leaned his side to the counter, turning his full attention to them while the food cooked. "Is one of the students teaching you? or maybe one of the teachers?"

"Hm?...No, there was justa' bunch-ah bottles like these in the dumpster I stayed next to for a lil while...an I heard a lotta people say the names too." Ruggie was taken aback by the implications they gave, and before They told him anymore, he started to connect the dots on almost everything about Them, having had a similar childhood. Out of curiosity, he decided to press further into Yuu's life before Twisted Wonderland.

That evening, Leona's food was a bit burnt due to all of Ruggie's attention being placed on Yuu and their story.

From that point on he took them under his wing in a sort

he would teach them all about how to cook when he could, and would take them with him when he'd go looking for ingredients in the forest behind Ramshackle to teach about how they could be used.

He offered to let them stay in his neighborhood over the winter break, but they had declined in favor of staying at NRC with Grim

to which he accepted their answer and left them with a head pat.

Ruggie sees a lot of his younger self in Yuu, maybe that's why he wants to take care of them as much as he can...

Neige LeBlanche

You met Neige on the main road, in book 5, like in canon,

Trey and Riddle were free so they decided to show you around the festival a little bit

by now they've basically excepted their roles as your parents

than you see the dwarfs get picked on and yatta yatta it goes about the same.

Neige wasn't very surprised to see a child here, he thought you might have been a student's little sibling at first

he was very friendly to you, after thanking Riddle and Trey, he kneeled down to your level,

behind Riddle's legs,

and thanked you as well for helping out his friends.

and you hummed back in acknowledge, burying your face into Riddle's leg more

"Huh? Yuu? What are you doing...?"

"Oh..? strange, their usually not this shy"

"heh, that's alright, is that your name? Yuu? It's nice to meet you, my name's Neige."

Neige is one of the few people that you almost instantly like, he was very nice

when he went to see Vil and the rest of the NRC group before the SDC, he tried to make conversation with you as well

and you actually replied! you rarely ever did that, even with the people closest to you

everyone was quite shocked

and when he was about to leave, he patted your head to which you giggled and hugged him!!

The only time Vil wanted you to bite someone, and you fucking loved him

Ace and Grim were appalled

"What the hell Yuu?! that's our enemy! You aren't supposed to hug the enemy!!"

"Yeah! What the heck Yuu!?"

Rook was about to pass out from how "beautiful" the scene was

Kalim, Epel, and Deuce thought it was rly sweet

Jamil was just glad you didn't bite another stranger.

The reason you like Neige so much right off the bat, is the same reason as to why you liked Kalim right off the bat

they both have very good wholesome vibes that make you feel happy and safe around them.

Overall, he thinks your adorable and makes sure to visit you when he stops by NRC for any reason. People tried to warn him about your biting, but he believes that it's all just rumors.

Che'nya

Your first meeting with Chenya is actually rly funny

It the same as in canon but instead of being scared jump scared

you try to catch his head after being jump scared

he thought it was hilarious and cute how you tried you catch him. so he played along and kept disappearing and reappearing random parts of his body for you to confusingly try to catch.

Chenya nearly dies laughing when he finds out you call Riddle and Trey, mom and dad

100% encourages it

he's a lil bit like Crowley where he'll hold out his hand for you to cling onto and bite when you please

but only if your able to win your little game of chase.

He just thought you were some random ass kid that liked to bite ppl and never thought otherwise

you are pure entertainment to him when he sees you biting other people.

Riddle and/or Trey will often have Chenya entertain you when they have to prepare for unbirthday parties

after he finds out what you Riddle and Trey, he encourages you to call him uncle Chenya.

Overall, he thinks your hilarious and likes your company. He doesn't care much about how or why you started biting ppl.

A/N: I’m so sorry I haven’t posted anything, me and my family moved across my state and it was just a lot but the move is finally over, but I’ll still be busy cause of organizing and all that stuff for the next couple of days. I wrote this on my phone so the formatting is prob different.

Yuu had an amazing day, they hung out with all their friends, Cheka even visited and they both played for hours. But now they were all tuckered out and were laying in bed snuggled up to Grim with their arm locked around him like usual. Being some comfy it was easy for little Yuu to slowly drift off to sleep….

Slowly the small child opened their eyes. They were met with the thin line of bright sunlight that peeked through the two buildings on either side of the alleyway’s over hanging roofs a few feet away from them. They sat up rubbing their eyes with a yawn, they looked at their surroundings to take note of the few belongings they owned that were scarred around the concrete ground.

On the other side of one of the cardboard box flabs were 4 old cards that nearly hung on to themselves, a diamond, a club, a spade, and a heart. On top of them was a long dead and wilted rose that looked to be very crudely ripped of a bush.

Safety under a rock laid a cut out picture of a lion and a picture of a hyena that used to be connected to the lion, both clearly very old and weak. With only a leg under the rock was a small plushy of what they believed was a wolf, but it had been to chewed up by one of the stray dogs to be completely sure.

In between the two piles was a third. At the bottom were two ripped up teal pool noodles that used to be one but had been torn in half. On top of pool noodles was a rubber purple octopus that used to be sticky and squishy but was now covered in to much dirt you could barley see the purple.

Next up was a toy gold bracelet that was surprisingly clean considering what it was surrounded by. Wrapped around the bracelet was a small rubber black snake, one that could be found in any gift shop.

Closer to the box, on the opposite side from the cards and rose, was a plastic doll with blonde and purple hair. On top of it was a dirty once white feather, and a long rotten apple that had not once been bite into before it rotted to its core.

Off to the side was a small blue box of matches but it only had two inside of it, one long working and a shorter one that had broke in half and was unusable due to a crumbled tip.

In the corner further from the rest of the piles was a long pice of thorns that were ripped off the rest of the bush. Inside of the thorns were dirty old pair of you vampire teeth, with a small pile of various animals tufts of fur and feathers, and last in the pile was a small plastic toy croc that had missing limbs and was very chewed up.

And lastly right next to the small child in the side ways cardboard box were three scrap sheets of white cloth, and a rag doll with big blue button eyes that resembled a grey cat.

The small child picked up the rag doll and laid back down onto the various scraps of fabric with it comfortably in their arms. They smiled, so very happy to have had another good dream!

In short this angsty idea is like if all of twst was made up by Bitey as a way too cope with their loneliness, and it’s all just dreams and their imagination.

He heard of you from his father

and telling him all about this little kid that started living in the abandoned dorm with a fire cat and how they'd do the

"funniest thing"

and bite people at seemingly random.

Malleus also mentioned you to him in passing

so he was aware of you but honestly didn't care.

That was until one day when he was taking a nap under his favorite tree just off campus

and he woke up to a small child curled up into his chest.

Now- what had happened was,

an animal that was going to Silver had caught your attention and you wanted to pet it

so you followed it all the way to a sleeping Silver, and when you noticed all the other friendly animals that sounded him, you took an instant liking to him.

You had always loved animals, not just dogs, so when you see someone that animals like/go to

you'll like them too.

Anyway, after petting as many as you could, you decided to take a nap with the animal man

which leads us to now.

Silver didn't think you were the kid his father and Malleus had told him about at first

he just thought you were some kid that managed to get into NRC somehow.

So he thought it was best to bring you to his father until they could get you home

Lilia nearly had a heart attack from how cute it was when Silver came into Diasomnia carrying a sleeping you yuu?

Lilia later explained who you were to him, and he was a bit shocked, he didn't imagen you to be this peaceful

he thought it was adorable.

Overall, is concerned about your biting habit, but as long as you don't do it in front of him he won't do anything. You guys don't talk all that much to each other neither of yall are much talkers but you do unintentionally nap together a whole lot.

Ruggie

Ok, first off I just want to say that I'm prob the most excited to write his hcs

Idk why I haven't written this sooner.

Now the reason I'm excited is cause yall are so similar

and cause of that you might end up being rly close a little later on

but that's later, let's go to the start.

Ruggie was searching around the forest area around Ramshackle for ingredients

and you just so happened to be exploring at the same time.

You saw him first

well more specifically, you saw his moving tail first

and being who you are, you wanted to pet/catch it.

"OW-!!"

If it weren't for the child latched to his tail he would have jumped nearly 20 ft in the air

you just looked at him, confused about his yelling, and just petted his tail

silently.

He's eventually able to shake you off and go back to his dorm.

You met Ruggie before you met Leona btw, and Ruggie had no clue who you were before this, so he was creeped tf out.

After your first interaction, he kept seeing you around campus more often

and he eventually found out about your biting

and...

he didn't care all that much, he did the same thing when he was little

and unbeknownst to him, for the same reason.

He's one of the first people to learn of your reasoning for biting

and after he does, yall grow a little closer

he teaches you all types of recipes and how to cook, different edible plants that are easy to find, and a bunch of ways to keep food fresh for as long as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if you accidentally call him big bro/brother at some point.

Overall, your guy's relationship is prob my favorite out of everyone. He doesn't judge you at all about your biting like most of the others do, not only cause he did it too but also cause its normal for beast men around your age but mostly younger.

Cater

He heard about you from Ace's complaining about,

"Some freaky little brat"

that bit him.

He thought it was funny, but also just a little worrying.

When he met you he made a few jokes about you biting him,

but you never did

and after a while of painting the flowers, he realized that you were just so adorable and just needed to be photographed for magicam!

He's not all that big with kids like Trey is but he does think your cute and are good for his magicam likes

he also thought it was funny how you reacted to his unique magic

you were terrified at first and clung to grim for dear life.

He’s the one responsible for turning you into the well know omen you are now

every time he saw you bite someone, he’d retell it dramatically on magicam

and ya know in pt 1 of bitey child!Yuu’s adventures, where I said how you somehow magically are able to get into Heartslabyul and get to the sweets

yeah that’s Cater’s doing, he made a deal with you that if you came to the dorm every once in a while at midnight

he’d let you have as many goodies as you wanted

everyone loves a mysterious cute creepy lil kid.

He’s always happy to hang out with you and babysit you whenever

you are a common visitor of the light music club.

Even though he likes to retell your biting tales, he still tries his best to get you to stop.

Btw he 100% encourages you calling Riddle and Trey, mom and dad.

Overall, he’s like that cool uncle you have no idea how to interact with. You enjoy being in each others presence but it still being a lil awkward.

Hmmmm....

I'd like to say that he doesn't mind them

but after their first interaction with Idia and them latching onto him for almost a whole day

he's not very fond of them for a little while.

But because I said so he does start to warm up to em a bit more after a while

and once they get past that lil rough patch tho

they are besties!

He thinks they are very interesting

I don't think he has ever spent much time with small children before

I mean, he has had small interactions with Cheka when he's on campuses to visit his uncle

but that's about it.

He is very curious about their reasons for biting people

arguably the most interested in their past

but, spoiler alert, he is far from the first that learn of their reasons.

Speaking of biting,

he finds it kinda funny when they bite people

but only when its the rude people.

He enjoys hanging out with them and the first years

and every once in a while he'll come over to Ramshackle when Chekas there and they all end up playing games together.

He also likes to tell them about the cool things he's learned recently

and they always intently listen.

Idia is none too pleased by the news of his little brother being friends with his attacker

but after Ortho brings em over to Ignihyde a few times, he tolerates their presence a bit more.

Yuu always likes to see the Shroud brothers, cause

Overall, even though you and Ortho started off on the wrong foot, you guys grew to be pretty good friends.

Summary: Come along with little Yuu as they celebrate their very first birthday in Twisted Wonderland or ever really

You woke to the feeling of the warm sun that shown through the window and a strong scent of pancakes that hung in the air. A loud squeaking sound came from the bedroom door, along with small but quick pitter-pattering of paws and before you knew it the small blue fire beast had gotten on the bed and began bouncing so you would finally wake up.

"Yuu!! Yuu!! Comon' wake up already! it's your birthday!" Slowly you sat up, rubbing your eyes, and wondered what your fiery companion was talking about.

"Me and the ghosts made a big breakfast! Well mostly me, but I guess those three helped a bit- OW!" Grim's "Bragging" was cut off by a loud smack in the back of the head, courtesy of Plumpy.

"Grim's right though little Yuu, come come" The big ghost gently grabbed your hand and started leading you with grumbling Grim following shortly behind. Once you three made it to the kitchen you instantly took notice of a massive stack of pancakes, all varying degrees of being cooked. Surrounding the stack were bowls and plates filled with all sorts of toppings and sides, like eggs, bacon, and sausage.

"Ah! Good morning young Yuu, happy birthday!" scrawny wiped around, having taken quick notice of the three new presences in the kitchen.

"Now, tell me what you would like and I'll get that dished up for ya!" "A-any?" Your voice shook with anticipation "Hehe, yep! And as much as you want!" Shorty answered "But we'd suggest not eating too much. You still gotta save some room for lunch and dinner" Plumpy placed a hand on your shoulder and began to guide you closer toward the kitchen island to have a better look. You were drooling at the mere thought of eating as much as you want of whatever you wanted. It took you a minute but you were able eventually decided.

You did try to eat as much as you wanted, but Scrawny eventually had to stop you so you wouldn't throw up. As you sat there at the table trying to settle down from your food rampage, you finally processed what everyone has been saying since the moment you opened your eyes. 'Birthday..? Where have I heard that...' You wondered to yourself for a moment, but quickly remembered Cheka mentioning birthdays to you less than a month or so ago...

It was a very nice spring day, the wildflowers bloomed all around the grass where you and Cheka sat on a blanket having a nice little picnic.

"Hmm, hey Yuu, whatcha' think I should get Unca for his birthday?" Cheka sat down his sandwich and looked up at you with hopeful eyes "I know it's still a couple months away, but I really wanna make him something special" You merely tilted your head to the side curiously and asked, "What's a birthday?".

Cheka was so excited to explain it to you, and when the playdate was over you ended up talking to the ghosts about it. All of which leads you to now, "Wait... but I don't know my birthday?"

"Yeah we know," Grim said with a smirk "so we picked a random day to be your birthday from now on!" you could clearly tell Grim was the one who picked the day from how proud he looked.

"Huh..." Looking down at your lap, you could feel your face grow warm "Well- t-thank you." Before any of them could insist that a thanks wasn't needed there was a loud knock on the door followed by muffled talking. "Ah! Those must be guests!" Plumply said and made his way to the front door with Shorty, but Scrawny decided to go back into the kitchen and pack the leftovers into containers for the next few days.

"Sup kid!" Turing your head you saw Ace and Deuce following the two ghosts back into the kitchen. "How's your going birthday so far" Deuce askedthen patted your head "Really Good! I gotta eat as many pancakes as I wanted!" The two Heartslabyul students paused for a moment as they watched your eyes light up at the mere mention of the beginning of the day, before instantly smiling and laughing.

You, Grim, Ace, and Deuce went to the living room, once you all sat down Deuce shot up. "Oh! We almost forgot, this is for you hun." He exclaimed and placed a light pink envelope with bright red roses on the coffee table. "Oh yeah that, it's from Riddle, something about wanting to get you a present or whatever." Ace said half-heartedly but very obviously trying to hide a smile. As you picked the envelope up to take a closer look there was a loud banging that came from the door.

"I'll get it" You mumbled as you slid off the couch. Once you opened the door right there was Sebek with his fist up about to start banging on the door again.

"Ah! Hello Yuu! This," He quickly pulls a lime green envelope with black and gold detailings from the inside of his jacket and hands it to you with straight stiff arms. “Is for you. Waka-sama wishes for you to come to Diasomnia as soon as possible!” Instead of responding, you motioned him to follow you back inside and walked him to the couch where Ace and Deuce waited. "Hey, Sebek! Whatcha' doin'?" Ace asked when he saw the green haired boy enter the living room.

"I'm just here to drop off this letter to Yuu." Sebek responded and placed it on the coffee table next to the other. It was quiet for a moment before Deuce broke the silence after staring at both envelopes, "OH! So both dorm letters want you to come over to their dorms for a-" Before he could say anything more Ace slapped his hand over the other freshmen's mouth.

"Just pick whichever one you wanna read first kid." Ace reassured. Looking back at the table you wondered what exactly they said. It took a minute, but you decided to pick up the...

Bitey child Yuu calling Riddle mom got me thinking.

Riddle doesn't enjoy the nickname but he still embraces it. Not to mention, post overblot Riddle swearing to be the best parental figure ever so you don't think of him like he thinks of his mom.

I got so distracted thinking about this that I completely forgot to actually answer the ask lol.

The angst potential for this is so GOOD omg! Honestly tho, I don't think that would come until much later in their relationship, probably after he's healed a bit more. Like for the first couple books he's trying to get them to stop calling him mom, but after that, he just gives up and goes along with it and he just unintentionally starts acting like a mom and feeling more and more responsible for them. Almost everyone except him notices it, and I think it would be a long while unit he either notices himself or someone tells him. I can imagen him like a while after he's graduated and still visits them at NRC with Trey and only then noticing how much of an actual parent he is to them.

But yeah after he does finally realize, I can see him wanting to be better than his mother and he would hate for you to be scared of him in any way. Trey would definitely help Riddle with this too.
