tim with nothing but a mild cold acting like a dying victorian child because his immune system is basically that of one: if i die, wear a superbat t-shirt with a suit and bowtie, tell no one what it means
kon: alright, let's get you back to bed hun
tim: also dump me in an incinerator i don't wanna steal jason's schtick because i don't think the authors will let me die
kon: okay you're just hallucinating now

since im on a roll about tragedies:
i am sick to death of fourth wall breaks that are funny. i want fourth wall breaks that make me want to cry.
give me hamlet looking up during his monologue to see the audience and plead with them for help. give me orpheus, on the road back up from the underworld begging us to make sure eurydice is there, to tell him she is safe. give me orpheus turning when the audience stays silent.
give me someone, bloody and full of tears monologuing to the camera when the narrative has wound itself so tight that they can't escape it anymore.
"youre just watching me. help me. im dying and im rotting and im losing myself and you wont do a thing."
i want the tragedy to be the performance. i want the tragedy to be, truly, in the eyes of the beholder.

I loved it when the Barbie movie was like.. "this Barbie is having an existential crisis right now and she's supposed to look kinda ugly to reflect that, but we hired Margot Robbie so.. y'know, use your imagination"

Luo Binghe pov fics that have him be amused or confounded by his silly shizun are the best actually. I know his rose tinted glasses of affection are basically opaque, but you cannot tell me the silly goofy wackiness that is shen yuan does not peak through and throw binghe off his rhythm at times. During his disciple days he definitely thought "he's so smart and yet so dumb at the same time. Is anyone gonna take care of him?" And didnt wait for an answer.

I’m hardly the first person to compare them but Terry Pratchett and J K Rowling really are polar opposites in terms of the way their writing treats weird characters. In Rowling’s writing, any weirdness is there to be laughed at (for example: Professor Trelawney, the fake seer who doesn’t know she’s an actual seer). In Pratchett’s writing, though, the characters’ weirdness is taken 100% seriously and the humor arises organically from the situation itself and is never at the characters’ expense (for example: in Making Money, the man who was born a clown and was never told so until he was 13 years old). In Rowling’s writing, the main characters poke constant fun at Professor Trelawney, making joke predictions and fudging homework and talking about how divination isn’t a legitimate field of study. Even after she gets fired and more or less drops the act, the joke changes to “look at this sad drunk lady” and the main characters express little sympathy. The narrative is saying she’s there to make one real prediction and otherwise she’s only there for comic relief. This sort of thing happens over and over in Rowling’s writing, where any quirkiness is there to be laughed at and the misfortunes of characters we’re not supposed to like are supposed to be funny, and it sends a message of conformity under threat of ridicule. In Pratchett’s writing, the clown man’s story is treated as a great tragedy: imagine growing up not knowing why you are the way you are, and then finding out the truth as a teenager! And knowing that your own mother kept the truth from you! This man was so deeply traumatized by this he denied himself any humor or fun for decades, and when he has a crisis and runs off to become a clown again, he is given support and medical treatment and is welcomed back to his job at the bank and accepted for who he is. The fact that this whole situation is hilarious is secondary. And again, this sort of thing happens over and over again in Pratchett’s writing, where characters’ quirkiness is embraced and often seen as irreplaceable by the end of the book, and it sends a message that our quirks are valuable and weirdness should be acceptable. It just strikes me as a much… kinder approach to people, you know?

Danny finds out hes a clone/ adopted, and instead of processing that like a normal person he decides, "Well its not like they can find me so imma mess with my bio parent(s) while venting my frustrations. Two birds with one stone."
Hence (hero or villian of your choice) begins receiving letters via untraceable magic of him telling them he's thier clone/son and just telling them about his day/past adventures.
Unfortunately most of his adventures are horrifying and the person is desperately scrambling to find thier dumb (possibly undead) child and rescue them.
It probably doesn't help that Danny only signs his name as Phantom and is careful not to give clues to his location.

No but I still find it incredibly funny that for every episode in which Valentino is a major feature, Alastor is just completely MIA.
Val is like an Alastor repellent. The shear threat of his presence is enough to keep Alastor away from an episode.
Alastor’s Aroace radar starts going off and he immediately makes himself scarce.
He probably sensed that episode 3 was gonna feature a bdsm scene and that’s why he went to the overlord meeting with the Egg Bois.
Vox is only alive rn because he’s not worth the effort for Alastor to hunt down and kill but also because he lives with Val and Alastor refuses to be in the same episode as him for any longer than necessary.
Alastor and the supernatural ability to nope the fuck out of any and all Situations.

"Daybreak", watercolor on broken paper. I worked the paper so hard the original was a disaster, but digital tools saved the day. Honestly, I wish I felt as hopeful as my art sometimes!

James, proud: Look, Reg, I drew you!
Regulus: That is a cat.
James, beaming: Yes! :D
Regulus, trying hard not to smile, blushing, hiding his face in his hands, realising his cold-hearted facade is crumbling down:
Barty to Evan, from afar, horrified: He's breaking Regulus
Evan, doing wand-spinning: How dare he

Just finished season one of tgcf. Do I know everyone's names? I don't. Or am I sure what that guy's deal was with the snake girl?? Not entirely. And why?
I couldn't hear the plot over the gaydar beeping nonstop.
I'm sorry but how was I supposed to pay attention to anything when the wholeass time Hua Cheng was in the background, making heart eyes at Xie Lian??? Bro clocks into reality occasionally to check if there's any real danger or an opportunity to impress gege with some sick lore but otherwise? Just wondering how he likes his eggs in the morning and if it's possible to top AND bottom at the same time.
