hi! I'm very confused now bc I'm newer to exploding my gender. I want to start with I'm afab and until now I believed I was cis. But recently I've been thinking I'm a genderfluid demi girl(because sometimes I feel like I might be enby or a boy), and i Believe that's under the trans umbrella, but because I'm afab, does that not make me trans? I'm really just curious and have no bad intent, I'm just confused.

First of all, welcome to the trans community. Being trans just means that you don't identify as the gender you were assigned at birth, so for example a demigirl who was assigned female at birth can still call themself trans. Although, some nonbinary people prefer not to use the label trans for themselves, so it is completely up to you.

Take your time with working things out, but I am here to support you. If you ever want more advice, just ask :)

for whoever needs to hear this:

starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.

there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.

you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.

stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.

stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.

you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

By the way you can be as much or as little trans as you want to be. Going all-out with bottom/top surgery, hormones, vocal training, etc.? Super cool. Just want hormones and no surgery? Cool. Just want vocal training? Awesome. Just want to wear different clothes? Still trans if that’s what you want. Want to change nothing at all other than using different pronouns than when you were a kid? If it’s trans enough for you, it’s trans enough for me. Only want to be trans sometimes, when you’re in the mood, when Mercury is in retrograde? Sounds legit to me. All levels of transness are valid.

hi! I'm a genderfluid demigirl(I think, I'm still figuring it out) and I'm trying to pick out a new name to possibly go by. I've thought about it beforeee but I've always ended just going with my given name bc I just kept coming back to the conclusion I was a girl(I'm afab) but now I'm starting to accept that I'm genderfluid and a demi girl who uses all pronouns but mainly prefers she/they(it's hard but I'm getting there :D) and I'm wondering what to change my name to! I have ideas, like Nova, Riley, and Lennox which are still kinda binary names/girly names, but they sorta feel right, even if I felt more masc that day! I just wanted to ask and see which one you thought was nice! :) or maybe do you have any more androgynous name ideas?

Those names are all really awesome! I think my favourite is Nova, but all three are brilliant. If you are looking for more gender neutral names, I recommend nature names as they aren't normally gendered and there are some pretty cool ones. In the end, it's just whichever one makes you feel most comfortable. Happy name choosing!

You know when you've finally figured out you're a genderfluid demigirl and you're trying to present more androgynous bc that's what you feel today but your mother starts complaining that you look like a man and you're sitting like a manspreader and you should be more ladylike and the crippling dysphoria hits you like a truck
