is bullying, abusing and chasing aromantic and asexual people out of the community actually helping anyone? is it helping trans people get binders or breastforms, or find surgeons, or connect with other trans people? is it helping mspec people figure out that being attracted to multiple genders is normal and okay? is it helping lesbians and gays find each other? is it helping intersex people learn more about their conditions?

it's not. it's not helping anyone else get the resources, support and help they need. all it's doing is denying a huge chunk of the community their right to have the same things we have and want. it's not helping a single soul. it's not making it easier for anyone else to get what they need by removing these groups of people, because as queers, we all have different needs. we are here to help each other. the point of community is to help.

if you refuse to help one or two specific types of members of your own community, you are prejudiced and you are the one being disruptive to the unity and functionality of the queer community. you are the one causing problems- not the aromantics, asexuals and other aspectrum people.

i was talking to my mother the other day about how to tell the difference between romantic and platonic attraction and she was like "well if you want to sleep with them that's romantic attraction" and i was like "???????? so you can't love someone romantically without wanting to sleep with them?"

and she was like "well no that's not what i'm saying" and it's like yeah that's EXACTLY what you're saying. you're saying the only difference between your best friend and your partner is that you want to sleep with your partner. what. there's no way.

Reasoning: In the main content he has no romantic relationships; all his deep feelings are platonic. In the Expanded Universe, he does have one romantic relationship, but he doesn't even get together with this person until years after they first meet and work together. So like I told my very allosexual bisexual disaster of a man last night that I can "take or leave sex" and it was pretty difficult to gauge his reaction to that LOL.

Has the one singular event of ‘wow i might be attracted to this person actually’ ive experienced been genuine sexual attraction or am i just being emotionally attached to my close friends again. Like how many times do i have to think that about this person before it starts tipping into probably being true

I understand that human experience does not fit into neatly divided boxes and i get that its a good thing but it would be soooo much fucking easier if i could just read a checklist and get told if im ace or gray or demi or whatever the fuck is going on with this whole mess

Its been literal years. The entirety of figuring out where i am in regards of gender and romantic shit took mere months, and its been over three FUCKING years. Simply is not fair

The worst part is im not comfortable with just slapping an ‘acespec’ on there and going, no, because i dont care about the actual label, i just want to understand how my own fucking emotions work >:/

after this website decided to attempt to ban porn and ns fw content, it's honestly become a nightmare to navigate as an asexual person w/ sexual trauma. because next to no one uses the mature filter, or tags things as ns fw or even ns ft for fear of having their content or blogs taken down, it means that tumblr has returned to the wild west of random porn flooding your dashboard with next to nothing you can do about attempting to filter it out again

it's not great for a lot of people in general, even outside of asexuality; people with jobs who browse tumblr in their down time, people who have or work with kids, people who spend a lot of time in public, people who are often at religious establishments or events, children and teenagers- there are load of children who lie about their birth date in order to sign up for just about any website ever, the amount of minors are on here is staggering. this is not good many people in general.

as an asexual person with a long history of sexual trauma, i struggle to navigate my dashboard or even certain tags right now. even the act of tagging certain posts will have tumblr suggest 'related' tags that are nsf w even if you are tagging things something simple like "ftm" or "enby" or "butch lesbian". it's great that other people are flourishing and embracing their sexuality, but it comes at the cost of making this website very difficult to browse for asexual people and people with sexual trauma

my heart goes out to the rest of you who are absolutely exhausted and triggered by this. again it's wonderful for the people who enjoy it, but because of how strict the tagging and filtering systems are on this website and how easy it is to get your entire blog deleted just by having a single thing flagged as mature, this website has gotten significantly worse at actually filtering the content they set out to remove in the first place.

The first one uses this arospec flag, and this aceflux flag. I basically just put all the stripes together, so the top 4 stripes are from arospec, bottom 4 are from aceflux, and the off white middle stripe is a combo of both of their lightest stripes. I also did some colour adjusting, so they'd flow together better.

The second just uses the same arospec flag as above, and the common greyace flag. I just replaced the bottom 2 greyace stripes with the green colours from arospec. The slightly yellow middle stripe is a combo of the white greyace and yellow arospec stripes. I think it's quite nice, I like the simplicity of the flag.
