MOCHI! I want to know your thoughts and concepts on how ptm jade fell inlove with mc like I NEED ITTTTT ITS EATING ME ALIVEEE... PTM JADE IS EATING ME ALIVEEEE
Now it makes me have a thing for prim and proper guys but with a wild side in private oh come on!!!!!!!!
*explodes*
Omgggg no exploding! It's too much clean up!
There will be a chapter dedicated to Jade and his pov on how he fell in love with the mc. So I don't want to say what exactly was the process for him...but I think giving out the ideas I had and letting yall guess which one it will be is fun!
How did PTM Jade fall in love with Yuu/Reader?
He got his head done in with a metal server's plate by Yuu during the fighting in Book 3 and immediately went "oh, am I into this?"
Love at first sight: Jade saw the hot mess that was Yuu falling out of their coffin and their familiar setting everything on fire and just thought, "That's the one I want" because he likes to watch drama
Floyd and Yuu interacted the most during Book 4, so Jade got to hear second hand how cool Yuu was and watched them handle Jamil and kinda just started crushing
Jade's interactions with Yuu during events (Beanfest, Halloween, etc) are more canon in PTM, and it was seeing them in those more relaxed settings that made him fall for Yuu
Jade slowly fell in love with Yuu over the course of the previous year, due to them being unusually perceptive and calling out his true feelings constantly. He was annoyed at first, but came to love them and their ability to just instinctually know him.

It's rather interesting that each of the Yuus so far in the manga have been foils of sort to the overblotter in question (disciplined vs strict, competitive vs lazy, seemingly okay in body image vs puts up a mask, in order). Makes me excited to see what future Yuus will be like!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, it seems that the pattern for the manga!Yuu is that each serves as a foil or a “mirror” to the Episode’s respective OB boy. The idea is super interesting, but I hope they go further with it and actually let the Yuus engage with the OB boy of their Episode in a meaningful way. There’s both similarities and key differences between them, and I think that would make for an excellent opportunity for them to learn from each other, but also for Yuu to have a more active role in the OB boy’s steady, gradual change of heart and character. The way things are currently set up, the manga!Yuus don’t seem to have character arcs of their own or develop in any significant way from start to end; they’re just there to be the “good” example of what each OB boy struggles to attain.
For the Episode of Heartslabyul, I think the distinction between Yuuken’s discipline and Riddle’s strictness is an important one to make. At first glance, you might think being “disciplined” and being “strict” are the same thing. They’re actually not! “Disciplined” refers to control and restraint of oneself. That’s what Yuuken is! He is stoic but knows when to step forward and get serious. Meanwhile, Riddle is “strict”—demanding that both he and others obey the rules to a staggeringly stringent degree. Riddle isn’t “disciplined” because he forces his ideals on others and does not control himself when his temper flares. He is serious all the time and unrelenting in his pursuit of upholding the rules. In this way, Yuuken is actually the kind of person Riddle works toward becoming post-OB: someone with good control of his words and actions, while also observing the rules within reasonable wiggle room.
Another thing!! Yuuken’s style of leadership also greatly contrasts with Riddle’s. Throughout the Episode of Heartslabyul, we see that Yuuken is thinking about his kendo team mates, which spurs him to act or to comfort other characters because they remind him of his teammates. This was the case during the scene when Deuce confessed to his past as an ex-delinquent and Yuuken encouraged him in his endeavors to improve—just as he encouraged his kendo kouhai at the start of the manga. In spite of his stoic face, Yuuken is compassionate and considers the people around him. Meanwhile, Riddle rules with an iron fist and it’s always his way or the highway. He never once considers his classmates, their POVs, or their circumstances, always holding up his own interpretation of the rules as absolute and remaining unwilling to compromise.
For Yuuka, I wouldn’t say the contrast between her and Leona is in competitiveness vs being lazy. From what I’ve seen of her, Yuuka isn’t particularly competitive or lazy. She’s usually the one keeping people (mostly Grim) out of competition or squabbles, and she’s not exactly eager to compete (she steps up when people challenge or threaten her). I would hesitate to slot Leona (based on his actions in book 2 alone) as one or the other as well. Like… how is he lazy if he’s putting forth the effort to enact this whole scheme? And how is he competitive if the point of his plan is to get Diasomnia out of the tournament? Wouldn’t it be truly more “competitive” if he wanted to square up against them anyway?
I would say maybe a more apt point of mirrored traits for Yuuka and Leona are in terms of morality—or, I guess, how far they’re willing to stretch the definition of “playing fair”. Leona is the one that plays loosely, willing to resort to dirty tactics and skirting the rules if it means getting what he wants. Yuuka, however, is more morally upright. She’s keeping her friends out of trouble and stepping up to fight Savanaclaw mobs only when they pose a threat to her. In these ways, she “plays by the book”. As a fellow athlete as well, Yuuka would be able to understand Leona in the struggle to perform and to be seen. Not only that, but they share scars. The reasoning for Leona’s is left unexplained, but Yuuka’s is from a sporting injury. They could totally relate not only in their lived experiences, but by their physical markers.
We’ve only just met Yuuta, so I don’t know if we can draw any definitive conclusions as to how he’s a foil to Azul. However, we can deduce some parallels from his one chapter appearance so far. Both Yuuya and Azul come from restaurants that their respective family operates. Furthermore, Yuuta is and Azul was, overweight. For Azul, this became one of the sources of shame for him. His peers underestimated his competence in part due to his size, and this would later lead to Azul changing a lot about himself to appear “stronger” (including a more restrictive diet in order to maintain his new body). This is not true of Yuuta, who still retains his extra weight and happily chows on food. In fact, I don’t believe weight is even brought up by Yuuta at all. He’s content with his life the way it is, much more chill rather than stoic.
I think another HUGE point that helps Yuuta serve as a foil to Azul is their attitudes on gratitude. Yuuta is thankful for such little things like having food—he even gets mad at Grim for not being thankful for it!! This is a departure from Azul, who, despite running what is basically a wish-granting service, is never satisfied with what he already has. He is always concerned with getting “more”, be it money, influence, information, or abilities robbed from other students. The insecurity especially shows in how he desperately tries to protect his valuable golden contracts with a clever ruse. He keeps collecting and collecting, viewing those physical signifiers (the things he collects) as proof of his “success”.
My prediction for book 3 is Azul will definitely see bits of his old self in Yuuta. His old self, whom Azul personally deemed as a weak and inferior version of himself, a version which he has a hard time coming to accept. I don’t think Azul would hate Yuuta or something that extreme, but Azul would feel pity for him and think him pathetic. Going hand-in-hand with the events of book 3, I believe Azul will underestimate Yuuta’s capabilities in the same way that Azul’s old bullies underestimated him when he was little. It would be such a cool parallel because, in this way, we’d get the sense that Azul has become no different than his bullies, pushing around the weak and (arguably just as bad) taking advantage of them for his own gain. And it would ultimately be those traits of Yuuta’s that Azul may have deemed weaknesses of his old self that save the day and get Azul to recognize he’s been living in denial this whole time, thus helping him to better appreciate his old self.

i. ruggie and jack
The days that preluded the end of winter break was filled with hustle and bustle. Many of NRC’s students were frantically packing last minute, and saying heartfelt goodbyes to their families as the new semester approached.
Ruggie, for one, was trying to figure out how he was going to lug all of his luggage back to Savanaclaw. His Bibi meant well, but she could be a bit of a worrywart. What started out as a few herbal medicine ingredients soon turned into many, and she insisted that he should share with his friends if they ever needed it.
“I doubt that they’d drink any of that stuff I give them, Bibi,” Ruggie said, casting a levitation spell over his luggage and stringing it down main street.
“Ruggie-senpai!” Jack called out. He was decked out in full winter gear, a messily knitted scarf wrapped around his neck. Ruggie snorted, waiting for his junior to catch up.
“You just got back?” Ruggie asked, tugging at the end of Jack’s scarf. “And what’s this?”
“Oh, uh,” Jack’s ears twitched, clearly embarrassed. “My sister made it for me. It’s actually pretty warm. Have you gone to visit Leona-senpai yet?”
“Nope,” He popped the ‘p’, shedding his jacket as they entered the Savanaclaw mirror. “I am not looking forward to how messy his room is gonna be.”
Jack unwrapped his scarf, gently placing it in his bag, “Yuu told me that they were doing Leona a favor or something, so maybe it’ll be okay.”
Ruggie blinked. Yuu and Leona spending winter together…? Well if that didn’t sound like a recipe for disaster, then he didn’t know what would. He quickly dumped his bags in his room, taking the quickest route to Leona’s room.
“Are you worried?” Jack asked, having followed behind him.
“About Yuu-kun more than anything,” Ruggie muttered as he reached for the door. “You know how Leona-san can be sometimes.”
The door creaked open, and the two were greeted with…Leona sitting on the couch while Yuu was mid-stride seemingly pacing around the room.
“Oh, hi,” Yuu greeted. Their posture betrayed their awkwardness more than anything that was actually was going on.
“Hi Yuu,” Jack said, leaning against the doorway. “What are you doing here so early?”
“I, uh,” They glanced down at Leona, who raised an eyebrow in challenge. “Leona tried to cheat his way out of doing one of the worksheets so I came back to scold him.” And that was when Ruggie noticed something off.
He glanced around the room. It was…neat. Neater than he had seen it for ages. Heck, even the bed was nicely made. And in the corner he spotted what looked like Yuu’s bag sitting right in front of Leona’s closet. Not to mention…
“C’mon, herbivore,” Leona drawled, spinning the pen in his hand. “Don’t worry your pretty little head over a single worksheet.” Leona didn’t look the slightest bit annoyed at being up early with a worksheet right in front of him. Instead, he was just focused on them, barely looking over at him or Jack.
“Leona-senpai, Yuu’s heating and cooling depends on this,” Jack said, and Ruggie could see the twitch of Leona’s brow clear as day. Uh oh. “Cut them some slack.”
Something had changed. Ruggie could hazard a guess, but he did not want to stick around and face the wrath of Leona’s anger this early in the morning.
“Listen here, pup,” Leona said, irritation in his tone. “Winter break ends in two days. I’ll get it done by then.” Jack, on the other hand, seemed confused at the sudden hostility.
That was when Yuu stepped in, "You said you'd finish early so we could go to the botanical garden." Miraculously, Leona leaned back, throwing an arm over his eyes.
"Everything's too loud today," The gripe was halfhearted, and Ruggie's jaw could've dislocated from how low it was dropping. The Leona Kingscholar...calming down just like that?
Yuu carefully sat down beside him, "Then why don't we go to Ramshackle, your Highness?"
"Don't call me that," Leona huffed, though Ruggie didn't miss the way his tail instantly wrapped around their leg.
"You said you liked it," They teased, before turning to them again. "How was you guys' winter breaks?”
Leona seemed to frown as they started conversing with Jack. And Ruggie..well, he prided himself on being able to read the room, so he very promptly turned around, shoving Jack out of the room.
"Wh– Ruggie-senpai–"
"Ah, sorry, Yuu-kun!" Ruggie called out. "I forgot I have something to do with Jack-kun, talk to you next time!” Jack didn’t know just how close he was to getting sent to do lap.
And Ruggie couldn’t bite back the grin on his face either. Now he had a cheat card to dealing with Leona’s bullshit. He made a mental note to give Yuu some of the herbal medicine that his Bibi gave him, because Seven knows that they would need it.

ii. crowley
Crowley was having quite the headache of a day. It came with running the school single-handedly, he supposed, and he almost mourned the loss of sandy beaches and the cold drinks that he had savored just the day before.
Alas the show must go on. He was the illustrious headmage of NRC after all!
And he was on a mission to find his favorite student. He wasn’t supposed to play favorites, but he found himself particularly endeared to the Ramshackle Prefect, Yuu. They were a good kid, better than the other troublemakers at the college.
So he often found ways to give them things, such as the phone that he conveniently gave them before winter break. (For communication purposes only. Definitely not because he was worried or anything.) Or the task he gave them before winter started. (He knew how dreary Ramshackle got, so the school’s heath would give them the warmth they needed.)
“Ah, there you are!” He exclaimed, finally finding Yuu amongst the shelves at Sam’s Store. “I was looking everywhere for you, Prefect!”
Yuu was dressed well for the cold weather, and he could see they were wearing the gifts that the other staff members gave them, “Headmage. How was your vacation?”
“Oh, it was wonderful, the beaches were— wait that’s not what I’m here for!” Crowley coughed into his hand, a bit flustered. They were the only student out here that was polite enough to ask him such questions. “I just wanted to congratulate you on the completion of your tasks! The fairies were buzzing about your timeliness.”
“Oh, uhm,” They awkwardly shuffled around the snacks in their arms. They always got like that when he complimented them a bit too eagerly. “Thanks I guess. And our heating and cooling?”
“Oh,” Crowley blinked, remembering the empty words he spouted before winter break. He didn’t think they would really take it to heart. “The fairies are more than happy to help out to make Ramshackle more hospitable, so I shall send them over soon. And you’ve outdone yourself with your other task, so don’t hesitate to ask for something else.”
“Hey, hey! Little imp and Crowley!” Sam greeted, ever the jovial. “What an interesting combo! Crowley, did you finally get them your gift?”
“Gift?” They asked, staring with what Crowley would say was just a little bit of hope. Argh. His conscience was hurt.
“I should have given this to you before winter but,” Crowley laughed nervously. “I was just…so busy with the mirror business—“
“Crowley was wailing to us in the teacher’s chat about how ‘his child would freeze without his gift’ and what not,” Sam said conspiratorially.
“I-I was not!” Crowley sputtered, finally pulling out the small gift. “There. Please use it well.”
Yuu opened the small box, a smile spliting on their face, “Are these…socks?” They were, indeed, socks. Not just any socks, the best thermal socks on the market. With the NRC logo on it. But they didn’t need to know that part.
“Yes, well, a good pair of socks goes a long way!”
Yuu laughed, “You’re right. Thank you, Headmage.”
“I-It was the least I could do. And Sam, I was simply congratulating Yuu-kun on a job well done,” Crowley tapped his cane on the ground, trying not to be too proud that Yuu liked his gift. “They managed to get Kingscholar-kun to finish all his worksheets for this winter break.”
Sam blinked, “That’s a magnificent feat! What kinda black magic did ya use on Kingscholar?”
“Yeah, herbivore, what kind of magic did you use to persuade me to do schoolwork?” The group immediately startled, watching as Leona leisurely walked over, slinging an arm over their shoulder.
Yuu seemed to fluster, “I…we just exchanged favors. That’s all.”
“Hmm,” Sam hummed, a grin on his face. “My friend from the other side is telling me something interesting happened over the break.”
Crowley narrowed his eyes as Leona smirked, “W-Wait a minute! Kingscholar-kun! What did you do to the Prefect?” Nothing good could come out of Leona Kingscholar looking so…so triumphant!
“I didn’t do anything,” Leona said coyly. “If anything it was Yuu who suddenly—“
“Okay, enough,” Yuu interrupted, tugging Leona out of the store. And the weird thing was Leona easily followed. “Me and Leona have something to discuss. See you two later!”
As they hurried away, it finally dawned on Crowley.
He pointed a half crooked finger toward the exit, “Are they…dating?”
“Seems so to me,” Sam snickered. “I think they make a cute couple.”
No…Crowley couldn’t accept it. There’s no way his beloved child was dating Leona Kingscholar. There was no one in NRC that Crowley could wholeheartedly approve of dating Yuu. Especially not Leona. Not on his watch.
“That— Kingscholar!”
Tumblr media
iii. grim
Grim wasn't stupid. He wasn't into complicated stuff like classes, but he sure noticed the new development that had happened over winter break.
Leona Kingscholar, the scary– ahem, lazy beastman from Savanaclaw...was always with his henchman nowadays. When they had alchemy homework, he was always there in a labcoat next to them. When they studied in the library, he was dozing beside them. And especially during meal times like this! He helped himself to the food that they cooked. And the worst part was the fact that the henchman didn’t seem to mind.
It was to the point that it was worrying, because his henchman was his! Their one and only boss was him, Grim the Great, after all!
But it seemed that Leona was trying to steal his henchman away from him.
Grim narrowed his eyes as the henchman left to grab some water, "Hey. Why are you trying to steal my henchman from me?"
"Hah?" Leona glanced at him before takong another bite out of his lamb chops. "Who's stealing from who?"
"I mean!" Grim stood up on his chair. "You're always around them these days, yanno!"
Leona scoffed, but he seemed to consider his words before finally speaking, "How 'bout a truce, furball? They stay your henchman and they're my herbivore. Deal?"
Well. First of all, Grim wanted to take offense at being called furball. It was clearly an insult to his (very cute) and intimidating fire ears.
But that...
"Hmph. Fine," Grim pointed his paw toward Leona's plate. "But I want one of those!"
Leona grinned, tossing a lamb chop onto Grim's plate, "Pleasure doing business with you."
As Grim chewed on the lamb chop, the henchman returned, two glasses of water in their hands, "What are you guys talking about?"
"Nothin'"
"Nothing."
The beastman and monster stared at each other for a moment before going back to their food. Grim kept an eye on Leona, who was being more touchy than usual. He kept poking the henchman and the henchman looked...
That was when Grim remembered Ace being all gross and talking about his past dating escapades. And that was when it clicked.
"Henchman," Grim glanced between the two with hesitation. "Are you two...dating?"
Yuu choked on their bread, and Leona wordlessly handed them his water.
"Yeah," Leona stated, rubbing their back lightly. "Why?"
"Nothin'! It's just," Blue eyes scanned Yuu, before thinking back to the many people at NRC who definitely expressed interest in them. "Henchman, I think ya could've done better, yanno?"
Leona's eyes narrowed, "You little–"
And that was how Grim spent some time running away from the beastman who chased him around Ramshackle. Meanwhile the ghosts were congratulating a still-shellshocked Yuu, so Grim's yells for help went unanswered. At least he got a lamb chop out of the whole ordeal.
Tumblr media
iv. leona
It was official. Maybe Leona was finally starting understanding where Falena was coming from when he gushed over his queen. Leona himself could barely keep himself from thinking about Yuu once every few minutes.
It would be embarrassing to admit just how many times he had been distracted enough that his gaze kept drifting toward Yuu.
Yuu who was comfortably nestled against him, scrolling on their phone. He wrapped an arm around their waist, nuzzling into the plane of their back.
"What's this about?" They asked, their hand patting his own.
"Nothing," He said, his voice muffled as he felt their heat seeping into his fingers.
His thoughts couldn't help but drift back to their conversation that fateful day.
And until that moment Leona had never realized how similar they were. Their words were a mirror of his own, down to the talk of the word ‘deserve’.
He spent his life being a slave to that word. 'I deserve to be king.' 'I deserve to be the dormleader.' 'I deserve to win in the magift tournament.’
All the thoughts of 'deserve' in his life never led anywhere useful. Did he ever want to be king, or was it just the words of others around him that filled him with such hatred for his own existence that the throne was the only thing that he thought would fix it?
If he truly wanted something he should fight for it. And if he lost, and still wanted it, then he would try again. That was what he understood now. And that was what lead him to Yuu.
It still wasn't fully resolved. Leona still had his doubts on whether he could truly care for them properly. And he sure as hell hadn't figured out just what got Yuu to have such a warped perception of him. But…
His arms tightened around them. It was something that they could figure out at a later date. For now, he would settle for the way their heart rate seemed to spike as he softly stroked their stomach.
He pressed a kiss against their shoulder, “Why’s your heart rate going up?”
“Ugh,” They sighed. “I hate that you can hear that.”
“Why’s that herbivore?” Leona’s hand drifted, until he could swipe the hair away from their nape. He learned that they were especially reactive when he kissed their neck. He pressed his lips against their skin, smirking as he heard their heart rate speed up, “Kinda cute that you do that.”
Yuu shifted until they were facing him, a frown on their face, “If you want to kiss me, you should just ask Leona.”
“You were busy,” He murmured, though he didn’t hesitate to close the gap of space between them.
“If you asked me to, I would’ve put down my phone earlier,” They said, their breaths sounding a bit short as Leona’s nose brushed against theirs.
“You’re so in love with me, aren’t you?” Leona drawled, suppressing a laugh at their expression.
Instead of saying anything, they leaned forward and pecked his lips. Something must’ve shown on his face, because they grinned, “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
And then Leona couldn’t hold it any longer. He leaned in, their arms readily wrapping around him as they kissed. Leona couldn’t hide his impatience as he licked into their mouth, the startled noise they made turning his rationality into mush. He never thought he would ever have such greed for another person before. But this… Their hand that was buried in his hair tightened and he tilted his head further, their noses brushing when—
BRIIING—!
Leona flinched back at the obnoxious ringtone. He could see Yuu trying to catch their breath, blinking a few times to gather their bearings. Did he really have to answer the phone?
“Answer it,” They said gently. He pecked their cheek before pulling back. He found his phone on the table, the name flashing on the screen making him roll his eyes.
Meddlesome Falena
He looked over his shoulder, “It’s Cheka. Are you ready yet?” They raked their hand through their hair, the strands falling messily around their face as they gave him a thumbs up. Dammit…they were unfairly pretty at times.
And as Leona internally cursed, he pressed the 'answer call’ button.
Tumblr media
v. cheka (+ family)
“Hello? Hello! Papa, I can’t see Ojitan, I can only see black!” The cheerful voice that rang out made Yuu chuckle slightly.
Leona seemed to hesitate before opening the camera, “That’s because I haven’t opened my camera yet, brat.”
“OJITAN!” The squeal that Cheka let out was quite frankly earshattering. They winced before moving into frame. “Oh! Huh? Yuu-tan! Yuu-tan’s here too!”
They answered Cheka’s enthusiastic waves with a greeting of their own, “Good to see you too, little lion.”
“How come Yuu-tan is here already?” Cheka wasn’t the best camera man. They were getting a very interesting angle of Cheka’s chin and shoulder.
“Uh…” Yuu trailed off, glancing at Leona.
“Who cares?” Leona grumbled. “Why did you call?”
But Cheka didn’t seem interested in knowing anymore, “Papa! Look, Yuu-tan’s here too.” Yuu immediately straightened their posture, while Leona took this time to yawn.
“Alright, alright,” They could see the camera shake before light flooded the screen. Falena was now proping the camera up, a colorful tapestry behind him as he held Cheka in his lap. “Hello brother. And Yuu-san too! This is perfect, hold on a second—“
“Papa’s calling Mama over,” Cheka helpfully added as Falena turned to talk to someone off camera. “Mama was very interested in what we did.”
“Tch,” Leona said, looking like he swallowed a particularly bitter medicine. Maybe he didn’t have the best relationship with his sister…?
“Do you not like the queen?” Yuu asked quietly.
“No,” Leona answered, albeit a bit reluctantly. "If she went asking that means that she already figured it out.”
“Figured what out?”
Leona leaned against their shoulder, “Wait and see.”
They gulped as another figure entered the camera’s view. An intimidating beastwoman traditional garb swathing her in colorful fabrics. She was a lioness beastman, they noted, matching Falena almost perfectly in her regal appearance. For a moment there was silence across the line.
And then a smile cracked on her face, “So. Who was the one who confessed first?” What? Falena seemed to echo their sentiment, his expression shifting from confused to realization to shock.
While Yuu was still in shock, Leona volunteered a hand, “I did.”
They sputtered, “You— You proposed at first.”
“Hmm… You were braver than Falena, then,” She tilted a head toward her husband. “It took him a whole three years to actually propose.”
“Oh gods above,” Falena muttered, still out of his mind. “Leona’s engaged? He…my baby brother…” It seemed that it didn’t take much for Falena to be shocked.
“We’re dating. Da-ting,” Leona emphasized each syllable like he was talking to a child. “The proposal was a gimmick.”
Now Yuu snorted, “You seemed to be seriously considering it before.”
“Yay!” The loud shout disturbed the calm atmosphere. It was clear that they had all forgotten that Cheka was in attendance. He swung his arms around, pumping his tiny fists in the air, “Yuu-tan and Ojitan are getting married!”
“Uh…Cheka,” Falena said tentatively. “That’s not—“
“Well before that, they would need to visit the Savanna, right, m’toto?” The queen seemed to be seriously thinking about it. Wasn’t it…a bit fast? “I for one, would like to get to know you first.”
Cheka seemed to agree, nodding furiously, “I’m gonna take Yuu-tan to all my favorite spots!”
“Wait, we’re not actually engaged,” Yuu laughed nervously. This development was not what they were anticipating. How were they supposed to know that the Queen would be this interested in Leona’s partner?
But Leona didn’t seem phased, “I’ll bring them the next time we have vacation.”
“Leona??” They glanced at their boyfriend before looking at the screen. “Why are you going along with this?”
“Cuz,” Leona grinned at them mischievously. “We can’t have you running away from me, can we?”
“Yup!” Cheka chimed in. “Yuu-tan’s family now!”
Yuu had a feeling that they didn’t quite understand what they were getting into when they dated Leona. And now they were suffering the consequences. But well…
A vacation in Sunset Savanna didn’t sound bad. Plus they would be sponsored by the Royal Family, and they could bring Grim along. And Leona would be there.
It was a fitting end, perhaps. They started this vacation wondering about families, having not remembered their own. And it seemed now that winter was over, they were heading into spring with a brand new family.
Their friends. Crowley and the teachers. And now Leona and Cheka.
Maybe this family they had gathered wasn’t such a bad thing afterall. Yuu squeezed at Leona's hand lightly. And Leona nudged them with his elbow in return, giving them a smirk.
It was a fitting end indeed.

A not-so-perfect first halloween
Halloween collab with @jade-s-nymph !!
TW: fluff, reader can be Yuu or not, they/them pronouns used, Cater is wearing a skull hairpin, post book 1, reader is mentioned to have hair and a costume, (name) used to mention reader, a lil bit of crack, not edited, (name) has like one line, second person POV, switches between (name) and Riddle randomly
characters: Riddle x reader, honourable mention to Cater, Vil, Jade I added Jade just for you @jade-s-nymph be grateful and Floyd (not shipped)
Not accurate to the Halloween event in-game! This is an au where NRC students set up stalls with challenges and if you win the challenge, you get candy which you can eat or trade in for prizes
I am still an amateur writer so writing may be cringe/out of character! Constructive feedback would be much appreciated!
🌹🌹🌹 Riddle was…Nervous, to say the least. He had experienced Halloween at NRC before, and he’d like to say he enjoyed it. However, this was his first Halloween with someone other than his dorm mates or friends: you. What was your favourite activity on Halloween? Did you like candy? Had you gone trick-or-treating before? Riddle had asked you these questions and more in advance to make sure both of you enjoyed yourselves. He smoothed out his costume—a skeleton with heart embroidery—and straightened his back. I’m going to make sure this is the best first Halloween with them, Riddle told himself. One of the benefits of wearing heels was seeing Heartslabyul students straighten up immediately after hearing the click-clack of Riddle’s heels as he stepped into the dorm lounge. Usually, Riddle would’ve greeted them and even brought up some small talk if he was in a good mood, but it was almost 6:00 in the evening, about time for Riddle to set out to meet you. “Looking good, Housewarden! How about a selfie for Magicam?” Cater winked, taking out his phone. He was wearing a similar outfit to Riddle, only difference being the size and the fact that he had a skull hairpin in his long, ginger hair. Riddle sighed at the tall student in front of him. “Make it quick,” He said, “I am sure you are aware that I am going to meet (name), and it is against the rules to be late.” After snapping a photo with Cater, Riddle set out. You both were to meet in front of the school, on Main Street, and then explore the festival together. It was 6:00 exactly when Riddle arrived at your meeting place. As he waited for you, Riddle couldn’t help but admire the decorations. After all, NRC students always went the full nine yards for Halloween. Candles littered Main Street, all set aglow by Headmage Crowley himself. Pumpkins which had different faces on them—Riddle thought he saw one that looked like him—some in the sky, some on the apple tree branches, candles inside them flickering bright. Small lanterns hung from the now-bare branches of NRC’s historic apple trees, adding a subtle but noticeable glow to the dark brown branches that hung over the statues of the Great Seven. The sky was a cloudy sunset, with gaps in the clouds where remnants of the sunny October day before peeked out for one last chance to glow before the moon came up and night arrived. As the sun set and the moon rose, more and more people started to arrive to participate in the festivities, and soon Riddle found himself smushed between a little girl and who Riddle thought to be her big brother. Great. With this much rush, I doubt I’ll be able to find them. Riddle mentally sighed, and started to search for you among the crowd. Meanwhile, you came running to the decided meeting place and were about to apologize for being late, but as soon as you opened your mouth, you realized you couldn’t see Riddle in the crowd. You guess at some point Vil showed up in his Halloween costume, because people started running and pushing forward, taking their phones out and screaming. Just as you told a guy to watch it and another woman and a few teenagers to please stop pushing, you finally fell to the ground because of the stampede. It left your hair a mess, and your Halloween costume soiled slightly. As the stampede thinned a little bit, you saw a familiar pair of skeleton heels and rose-red hair.
Riddle searched for your face when the crowd thinned. His mind went all sorts of places. What if they didn’t want to come and just forgot to tell me? What if they’re in trouble? I should probably call them… The last place Riddle expected you to be was on the ground.
“(name)..? Is that you? Are you alright?” He questioned, surprised. As you raised your hand in greeting and weakly made a thumbs up, Riddle bent down to offer you a hand, which you gladly accepted.
“Great seven…You can’t go a day without causing trouble for me, can you?” Riddle said as he pulled you to your feet and fixed your clothes and hair. As you opened your mouth to apologize, he stopped you. “…Well, it’s not like I mind.” He mumbled, looking satisfied with his work and nodding. You two walked through the mini-fair, making idle talk about recent events and often stopping to make comments like this booth is decorated beautifully, and oh, let's try this game! Riddle kept a close watch on you. There might be more rush and another stampede, and he didn't want you to get hurt.
Eventually, you came across a stall run by some Octavinelle students, where you had to throw a ball and break glass to win candy. Riddle turned to you. “Do you want to give it a go? I will be here.” As you nodded, Riddle stepped back so the ball wouldn’t accidentally hit him. You threw the ball with all your might, but none of your balls hit. The Octavinelle student at the stand sniggered.
“Sorry, better luck next time, I guess.” The student sneered. (Was it rigged? Were your throws actually horrible? You never know…)
You and Riddle both tried a bunch of games, winning some and losing some. Eventually, your bags were reasonably full with candy, and the night was coming to an end. Guests were starting to leave, but in the darkness the decorations around the school shone yet brighter. Riddle checked his watch. It read 10:34 PM. He looked at you. “We should probably get going. We do have school tomorrow, and if we sleep late we will wake up late for school tomorrow. Let’s go exchange our candy and head back.”
As you two walked to the exchange stall, a familiar—yet unnerving—voice spoke. “Well, look what we have here. Why, it’s the Housewarden of Heartslabyul and his paramour. How are you on this fine night?” Jade Leech peered down to make eye contact with you and Riddle. Behind him was Floyd, energetically giving out and restocking prizes, and the prize wall. The bigger plushies were hung higher on the wall, and the smaller fidgets hung lower, both in price and on the wall. You looked at Riddle, who was conversing with Jade about the candy, and you looked at a hedgehog plushie with a Halloween mask on that you had just enough candy for. It wasn’t too big, but it was freakishly adorable. You interrupted Jade mid-speech to point at the hedgehog you wanted. He looked a bit irritated, but quickly changed to his normal expression. “Ah, that one. I’m assuming you have the candy to pay for it, yes?” He smiled politely, but it didn’t reach his eyes. You nodded as you dumped out your entire sack of candy. Jade reached for the hedgehog hanging mid wall—you couldn’t help but think Riddle would’ve struggled to get that if it were him—and handed it to you. As you and Riddle left, you couldn’t help but notice Floyd suddenly stop his work and going to annoy Jade. In the background, you could hear Jade saying “Now, Floyd. I don’t think Azul will be happy if you leave those customers hanging.” It was almost 11:00 now. The mini-fair closed, only reopening next year. You and Riddle walked in comfortable silence. The fall breeze was crisp but chilly. A lingering scent from the apple pie stall remained, and you could hear the crunches of the leaves beneath your feet as you walked toward the Hall of Mirrors. It really seemed like Halloween was over now, and so was your first date with Riddle.
“…I’ll walk you back to your dorm,” Riddle said, breaking the silence. You nodded and walked in the direction of your dorm. When you finally arrived at the Hall of Mirrors, you smiled and waved goodbye to Riddle, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before you left for your dorm. Riddle’s face turned red like a tomato, but he couldn’t stop thinking about that peck on the cheek. It was a simple but romantic gesture. As he went through the Heartslabyul mirror, Riddle noticed you had forgotten the hedgehog plushie you got at the exchange stall. Riddle pulled out his phone to let you know that you had forgotten it and he would give it to you tomorrow, but he was met with a text from you that read:
(name): dw about the plushie. I know you like hedgehogs so I decided to give it to you. I’ve seen your room. it’s neat, sure, but it’s lacking that personal factor. Keep the hedgehog, take good care of him for me ;)
Riddle sighed and shook his head. This definitely sounded like something you would do. The click-clack of Riddle’s heels could be heard as he stepped into the Heartslabyul lounge. Students still in the lounge didn’t say anything, but they stared at the plushie in their Housewarden’s arms. As Riddle gave them a dirty look and they straightened up and pretended to do something else, he walked up the stairs, replaying the night and its ending in his head over and over. Riddle slept peacefully that night with the plushie in his arms.

Love how we're both back on our ace shit at the same time <3. Also, I'm getting back into writing (just working on short stories before I get into fanfiction, and am very quickly realizing my flaws T-T) and I'm thinking about working on an 80s aduecyuu au. Yuu and deuce are punk because I'm punk 😗 but for a wider audience I'm thinking of making yuu grunge or hardcore? Something a bit more neutral. Don't know what Ace will be yet. He might get to be generic the 80s asshole jock 😍. Somebody gotta do it ace <3. But Grimm will be a weird ass cat who seems to have way too much of an attitude and seems a little too human?
But yeah. The au is just 3 idoit doing stupid shit, sharing a braincell, trying to figure out where the line between friendship and queer throuple is while trying to ignore the impending scene of dread because a lot of weird shit™ keeps happening in the background.
Also cater will show up at sometime. Don't know when. Don't know where. But by God I will make it happen, and he will be the skaterboy we all know he is.
Idk if lolitas existed in the 80s but if they did I'll make riddle ouji lolita for you ❤ or atleast ouji lolita adjacent
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! GO YOU! MAKE SURE TO TAG ME WHEN YOU DO!! I promise to be only a little unhinged in your comments.
That's the thing about writing. The more you do it the more you realize what you're bad at but that's not always a bad thing. You can't improve on what you don't know needs improving.
Don't pressure yourself to make Yuu grunge or hard-core for wider appeal. I think all twst writers put a little bit of themselves into their povs, so if you know punk the story will probably be a lot easier to write since that's you! (If you wanted them to be different than Deuce and Ace I'd vote trad goth. That style goes so fucking hard and so does their music bauhaus my beloved. Also i guess kind of fits with Ramshackle?) Is this meant to be a sort of classic horror vibes? Because I dig it. I think Stranger Things did us all a disservice by sucking ass and making people think 80s horror should die because it became too mainstream :/
I'm going to put my unhinged rambling about lolita under the cut but oh my God you don't have to do that I'm so grateful you thought to though I've got such a big smile on my face rn cccc;
OK so to make a very long thing short, yes lolita did exist in the 1980s but it didn't really look like anything it does today. It was pretty much all handmade, and though the first brands were around we have no idea what their peices looked like since the fashion wasn't really widely worn or photographed until the 1990s. It didn't even have its name until the 90s. Lolita as it exists today is very much a 90s/early 2000s fashion which is honestly wild to me. As for ouji, it pretty much grew alongside Lolita so that would also be a no go.
Given Riddle's backstory I can't really see him as an 80s lolita. He doesn't seem like the sewing type to me... but there is this one brand that helped influence Lolita fashion called PINK HOUSE that was stupid popular in Japan in the 80s. I'll link you to this blogspot article which is both about the brand and the misconception in English speaking spaces about the term "natural kei" but I think it suits Riddle if you wanted to give him a lolita like vibe. The tl;dr of the article is that it PINK HOUSE and it's original designer Kaneko was a staple in 80s fashion in Japan, and is referred to as just PINK HOUSE or Kaneko fashion. As it lacks the community or aesthetic of kei fashions or lolita it is not considered a part of those groups... which does sort of fit Riddle in a way as his mother isolates him from both 💀

Well here I am (ONS chapter 128)
Ok I'm finally writing out my thoughts about ONS' 128. Idk how long it'll come out (extremely long as I'm writing it it seems...) and also as always I want to hear others' opinions on this, but as a warning it will be mostly negative. I actually did a similar post back at the start of the year with BSD, but BSD at least managed to bounce back full force and do what it needed to do while ONS shows no signs of that.
I'll break it down into the following points:
>I'm also getting tired of the flashbacks (as many already did)
>I miss the Shinoa squad (will touch upon Mitsuba specifically and y'all probably know why)
>The belief that MikaYuu fans are getting much better content and why I think that's bs (will probably mention my theorem of "Mika, along with literally all the women of the franchise, got hit with the mysoginy stick")
So let's go I guess, under the cut so I don't clutter my non-ONS followers' dash.
>The flashbacks: I... Did not mind them up unti now, if I've got to be honest. Let's be serious here everyone probably expected a batshit crazy backstory for the characters, ESPECIALLY Yuu and Mika, and that's what made me not really complain. Now it has been like? 8 chapters of ONLY flashbacks??? Only things of the past with NO break and NO POV switches to at least let us know wtf is going on in the outside world. Christ. The fact that irritates me the most is that all of this adds nothing to the plot either!!! What are the MCs supposed to do now that they've seen one of them (WHO HAS BEEN 4 DIFFERENT SPECIES TOO SINCE THE START OF THE SERIES???) sacrifice for the 3rd time!!!! AND IN THE PAST AT THAT!!!! HOW IS THIS USEFUL FOR THEM OR ANY OF US AGHHFHGHHG. We got other gays going at it tho and that's just funny to me. This is just a BL masked as a battle shonen lmaoooo.
>The Shinoa squad: I feel like this is obvious. Where tf are they? They obviously are looking out for where Mika and Yuu are, how did we not see them again yet??? Some progress in their hunt (let's call it that) for those two??? Shinoa literally threatened to kill Mika (and, for a number of reasons, let me say this: ew.) I'd at least like to see her and how she's doing. And didn't Kagami promise us Mitsuba would get more screentime soon? THIS IS LITERALLY A PERFECT SETTING. SHOW ME HER AND SHINOA BEING IN CONFLICT CUS SHE WORRIES ABOUT HER FRIEND AND WANTS HER TO COME TO HER SENSES!!! SHOW ME HOW THEE LITERAL KIDS ARE DOING AFTER BEING ASKED BY A FULL ON 24 Y.O TO CHOOSE THEIR FAMILIES OR THE WORLD LIKE BE SO SERIOUS THE SETTING WAS *DECENT* (wouldn't say perfect cus I'm not the biggest fan of the "bring everyone back" plot but ok) FOR IT ALL I'M *explodes*
>MikaYuu: Oh boy ok here we go. So since I came back after my rewatch and catch up to this manga which resulted in hyperfixation again I noticed that the narrative of MikaYuu shippers getting better content cus a lot of the chapters now focus on them is... common. And for a while I just thought "ok" and moved on but now I'm fully on convinced it's just. Not true. Not because the content isn't there, I would be lying if I said that, but because it's... Not good. Good content, for me (as someone who clearly loves these two if you scroll for even 2 minutes down my fucking tag), would be seeing actual growth between them, some actual substance in what they are doing as of rn, and we are not getting any of that. Since when did we see them actually DO something? Last time we saw Yuu in his actual body and actually saying something was last chapter and he was EATING. Then we went back to them just passively staring at everything that went on. And to add onto this, I dislike demon Mika as a plot IN GENERAL because it recessed any development both for HIM and for Yuu himself. Yuu acts stupid (wtf happened to him after Nagoya I'm being so serious Nagoya Yuu I miss you so much) as shit cus anyway Mika IS strong enough to let him get away with it but not enough to oppose Yuu at some point and this was addressed as a problem for like 2 seconds and then nothing. Oh my God. And not only that but this fucking thing also shows that Mika did, indeed, also get hit with a mysoginy beam, but that's another topic I want to talk about in another post if anyone even really cares about it.
So... Yeah. I'm not tired (I only started catching up in March after my rewatch, so I'm still curios about how this will go), but I AM sad. I really miss the earlier arcs and the potential they all had that now seems like a long lost memory. Can we all collectevely just go back to the Nagoya one like if the series stuck to that path I would be able to excuse its flaws up until a point because GOD. The eyeball with its Seraph shit or whatever the hell it was doing was cool tho.
As always y'all can tell me what y'all think, but I'm mostly expecting this to get lost in the void given how dead the fandom is. So yeah, see ya.

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ for my new years event ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
characters: silver, twst
contains: fluff, reader referred to in second person pov, gender neutral reader, reader is yuu
"I mean, isn't it kind of romantic, though?"
Missing the way that the Diasomnia boy seemed to freeze at the question, you instead continued looking interestedly at the décor just outside of said dorm.
You, of course, had been referring to how Ruggie took such care in looking after Leona. "I mean, I know it's not meant to be that way - it's just his job. But the idea of having someone look out for you like that, isn't it sweet?"
His stunned silence continues, and you have half a mind to think that he fell asleep walking. To your surprise, when you check back on him, he's wide-awake. And he's blushing quite strongly.
"What, do you not agree?"
"Well, I guess." He starts, looking away as if you hadn't already seen his flustered state. "I just... wasn't aware you liked things like that."
You hummed, a half-smile pulling at your lips as you continued along, hearing Silver follow after you.
"I feel like everyone does, though?" You question, and seeing how he seemed to be curious as to what you meant, you continued. "It's just the idea of having someone be there, having your back. Helping you whenever you need it, or even when you don't. Something about it, it's just nice."
"Hmm." He doesn't really answer, clearly trying to think it over as his pace slowed. "I'll remember that, then."

Chapter 2: Escaped Pokemon
Masterlist
3rd POV...
“So you’re telling me that they all went through the mirror,” Yuu exclaimed into their phone. The phone that they were using⎼ courtesy of Crowley⎼ was able to take calls and messages in their world from Twisted Wonderland.
“That is precisely what I said,” Crowley huffed. He was not happy about twenty-two of his students disappearing. “Do you know if they are with you or somewhere in your world?”
“No I don’t,” Yuu sighed. “The only one with me is Grim. If the others were here, they would have made their presence known. By now Cater and Vil would be all over social media if they were here.”
“I guess I’ll have to continue my search then,” the disappointment in Crowley’s voice is prominent. “But will you let me know if they do show up in your world? There is a possibility that they are stuck in between worlds at this time.”
“That would make sense,” Yuu agrees. Yuu gets their name called by their friend and says ‘goodbye’ to Crowley as they hang up.
……
“So this village,” Azul breaks the silence that was around the group as they head to Jubilife Village. “What’s in it?”
“Jubilife Village, is the center of the operations for the Galaxy Expedition Team. What they do is study the Pokemon that live in this region,” Laventon explains. “For you all to seek out all Pokemon, it would be best to join the Survey Corps. They carry out the research on how Pokemon live out in the wild. In the Village, there are a number of people who do various things. Some are farmers, some can help train up Pokemon moves, some are traders, and others can give out requests for you to get more experience or items.”
“That’s really good to know,” Riddle commented. The group came to a stop once they hit a huge wooden gate with guards on each side.
“Hello, I am back,” Laventon greeted the guards. The guards look at Laventon and the group. “Ah, with their help I was able to recapture the runaway Pokemon, so I hope you’ll forgive me for bringing them into the village for a bit!” The guards okayed it and the gate opened. Laventon and the group walked through the gate opening. The group looked around at the village.
“It’s kinda old-timey but I guess it’s not too bad,” Vil observes.
“This place is only temporary to use until we find a way back,” Malleus states.
“This way, if you please,” Laventon instructs and begins walking further into the village. The group follows still looking around their surroundings and the locals check them out.
“Their outfits are quite strange.”
“Do you see the one with the horns?”
“What are outsiders doing here?!”
“We should keep our distance to be safe.”
“Maybe they’re new members of the Survey Corps.”
“Who’s that with the professor?”
“Oh botheration!” Laventon exclaims as he stops in front of a bridge. On the other side of the bridge was a building that was more complex and fancier than the buildings that the group had just passed. “I’d almost forgotten! I need to go and report that we successfully recovered the escaped Pokemon! Might I ask you all to wait for me at the canteen? I should be no longer than 10 minutes. It’s the building past this bridge here, then to the left. The Wallflower is its name.”
“I don’t think this guy is good at his job,” Jade smirks.
“We should head to The Wallflower,” Trey suggests and starts to walk to the bridge. The rest silently agree and also make their way to the bridge to cross.
“Data unlocked: Map of Jubilife Village,” Ortho reported.
“Ortho, do you think you could send the map to everyone’s phone,” Idia asked. “Well the ones that have their phone on them.”
“I can do that,” Ortho confirmed as he sent the map to everyone’s phone.
“This is useful in case any one gets separated,” Trey smiles.
“Well aren’t you all awfully suspicious,” says a guy who was in front of The Wallflower. “The Wallflower’s for Galaxy Team folk only. We don’t have seats for outsiders. Move along!”
“Huh,” Ruggie exclaimed. “We were told to come here and were promised food!”
“Sorry but can’t help you,” the guy grunted. “I suggest you get out of here though before I call the security corps.”
“Hey,” a voice from behind the group calls out. “Who are you? I’ve never seen anyone dressed like you all are. What if you were attacked by a Pokemon? You’d be minced meat in those flimsy clothes!”
“Huh,” the group was taken aback.
“If the guard let you guys through, you must have ties with someone in the village…” The voice was coming from a young girl. She was wearing a faded blue uniform paired with a red scarf and white bandana covering her hair.
“I wouldn’t say that we have ties with the man,” Jade whispered, Floyd heard him and silently cackled.
“We do know someone from here,” Rook smiled.
“Ah, perhaps you know Professor Laventon then,” the girl smiles. “He’s a scholar from a faraway place. His Pokemon do get away from him at times, though. It makes me a bit worried for him…”
“So it’s a common occurrence,” Malleus questioned.
“Yes, but I suppose I’m hardly one to talk⎼I’ve had some trouble with Pokemon myself,” the girl sighs. “I was hit by a Pokemon move called Thunder Shock not long ago and had to be bedridden for a bit. But the professor… well… I do wonder how long he’ll last.”
“Unfortunately it’s just as Akari says…” a voice comes up behind the girl. The group looks past the girl to see Laventon approach. “I’m a clumsy sort of fellow, to put it mildly!”
“Professor,” Akari exclaims in shock as she turns to face the professor.
“But everything will be quite all right now,” Laventon says as he moves to be closer to the group. Cater and Trey take a moment to look at each other before Trey shakes his head. “You guys have agreed to help us with our Pokedex!”
“Excuse me?” Akari takes a glance at the group before turning her attention to the professor again. “You plan to appoint these guys to the Survey Corps?”
“What’s so wrong with helping out,” Ace frowned.
“You can’t just slap a badge on whoever you like without Captain Cyllene’s permission,” Akari ignored Ace’s comment.
“I’ll allow it,” a new voice states. A woman approaches the group. She has short blue hair, and is wearing similar attire to Akari.
“Captain Cyllene,” Akari exclaims.
“Assuming the individuals can contribute to the Survey Corps, that is,” the woman adds. “I am the captain of the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corps. You may call me Cyllene. Professor Laventon has told me how you all helped secure his Pokemon when they slipped his control. And now it seems he would like us to feed and house you in exchange for your ongoing labor. Looking at you all, you seem to be around the same age. A group of young adults… A good age to work for your keep, and to keep the village lively enough. But we can’t simply take on strangers who wander in among us, without any idea of their skills or origins.”
“We do know where we⎼” Leona puts a hand over Deuce’s mouth to keep him from finishing his sentence.
“We can’t let them know that we are from Twisted Wonderland,” Leona whisper’s to Deuce. “We need to obtain information, not give it out.”
“Right, sorry,” Deuce apologizes when Leona releases him.
“Tomorrow we shall see if you can prove yourself worthy,” Cyllene continues as if she didn’t hear Deuce.
“A most reasonable decision, Captain,” Laventon praises. “Now, would you care to join us for a meal? I’m sure you’ve got plenty of questions for our visitors!”
“That’s quite alright,” Cyllene declines the invitation. “I prefer to eat alone so I might appreciate my meals without distractions.” Cyllene walks into The Wallflower to get her meal.
“Aloof as always, I see,” Laventon watches Cyllene’s departure. Laventon turns back to the group. “Well, no matter! The rest of us can share a meal and some pleasant conversation, then. Beni, old chum! The usual potato mochi, if you please⎼but make it for twenty-four today!”
“Do they not have meat,” Leona growls as they enter The Wallflower.
“Now’s not the time to be picky,” Ruggie sighs. Once everyone is in the Wallflower, they break into groups. The dorm leaders sit with Laventon and Akari. The first years sit at the table next to them. On the other side of the dorm leader’s table sat Silver, Ruggie, Rook, and Lilia. The rest of the group: Jade, Floyd, Trey, Cater, and Jamil took seats at a table behind the dorm leader’s table.
“Wonderful stuff, Beni,” Laventon complimented as Beni brought out. “Much obliged. Your potato mochi never fails to please!” Beni placed all the food on the four tables, nodded his head in acknowledgement to Laventon’s compliment and left.
“Professor Laventon, where exactly did you meet our… visitors here,” Akari asked. She was seated right next to Laventon. Leona was sitting right in front of Akari and was looking at the food curiously.
“It’s just food Leona,” Vil commented from the other side of Riddle. Riddle was in between Leona and Vil, peacefully eating the food.
“I didn’t ask for your opinion, Vil,” Leona sneered, he then made himself a plate and started eating.
“Ah, well, you know of that great hole in the sky? The one people call the space-time rift? Our new friends fell right out of it,” Laventon explained.
“You can’t be serious,” Akari side-eyed Laventon. Laventon nodded his head in confirmation.
“Come now⎼I am a scientist,” Laventon tried to defend himself. “My job is to observe and explain any and all phenomena. I concern myself only with facts! Now, you already know there are many Pokemon here in the Hisui region…”
“That there are⎼in the grass, in forests, by water, or wherever they like,” Akari adds. “Our job as the Survey Corps is to research them and find out what kind of creatures they are!”
“Well, we know this much…” Laventon pauses for dramatic effect. “Pokemon are terrifying creatures!”
“I doubt they are that terrifying,” Azul interrupted. He was seated right beside Vil with Idia on Azul’s other side.
“It’s all but impossible to know what kinds of powers they might possess or what sorts of wondrous things they can do!” Laventon carried on. “But that’s where our new friends come in! They successfully caught three Pokemon! Three of them in quick order, you understand!”
“It wasn’t that big of a deal,” Idia muttered as he ate his food. Across from him sat Kalim. Next to Kalim was Malleus, then the ‘Professor’ and Akari.
“Nobody in the Galaxy Team is capable of a feat such as that,” Laventon continued. “This means we can finally begin our Pokemon research in earnest!”
“Man, this place seems kind of pathetic,” Ace comments from the table he was sitting at. He was at one end of the table with Deuce on the other end and Epel in the middle of them. Across from them Jack sat in front of Ace, Sebek in front of Epel, and Ortho in front of Deuce.
“If these beasts called Pokemon are as fear inducing as Laventon says then I must protect Wakasama from them,” Sebek exclaimed mid-chew. Lilia sighed from the table on the other side of the dorm leaders. Lilia sat next to Rook, and across from Ruggie. Silver was seated next to Ruggie.
“I certainly can’t wait to meet more of these Pokemon,” Rook smirked. Ruggie tried to ignore Rook out of his own discomfort and focused on his food.
“Three?! We have a hard enough time catching even one when wild Pokemon come after us…” Akari states in disbelief.
“Ah, well, to be perfectly fair, the Pokemon that fled to the beach weren’t on the attack,” Laventon admitted. “But the key to catching Pokemon is getting close enough to aim your Poke Ball well. And it seems our new friends are fearless enough to do just that!”
“Does the Survey Corps really have the leeway to be enjoying a leisurely meal with these outsiders,” Beni’s voice came over the conversation as he approached the seated group. “Your captain just ordered 10 whole portions of potato mochi, you know. The slow progress on that Pokedex of yours clearly has her on edge.”
“I’m sure we’ll start to rein in the good captain’s stress eating soon enough,” Laventon smiled with confidence. “Now have your fill, new friends. And think, if you make it into the Galaxy Team, you’ll never have to worry about a meal again. The team provides for all its members’ needs⎼ even if said members fell out of the sky!”
After that statement, Beni went back to the kitchen area, not bothering the group for the rest of the meal. The group was having small conversations about what was to become of them in the future by being in this world. Some questioned if time back in Twisted Wonderland was still moving forward, some worried about their families, some questioned if Crowley even noticed their disappearance, and some wondered how Yuu was doing and where Grim was. Soon the meal was finished and they brought their dishes to Beni and left The Wallflower.
“That was quite delicious! Quite delicious indeed,” Laventon praised as the group stood outside. The sun had gone down and it was now early night.
“Yes, the food was lovely,” Akari agreed with Laventon. “But more importantly… you do remember that these guys have a trial to pass to join the Survey Corps, don’t you?”
“Not to worry! I have complete confidence in their skills,” Laventon waved off Akari’s concerns for tomorrow’s trial.
“Let’s hope it is not misplaced,” Cyllene approached the group. “Newcomers, for tonight, at least, we will provide you with a place to sleep. You may use a few of our quarters over there. But if you fail to pass the trial we have you do tomorrow, you must move on. You will be expelled from the village to meet you fate⎼and perhaps even your death⎼in the wilds.”
“Captain Cyllene is somewhat like Hisui, in that they’re both quite harsh,” Akari says once Cyllene was out of ear shot.
“Now now, she simply puts on a stern front to help keep us all safe,” Laventon reprimanded Akari. “At any rate, I think it’s time we turned in for the night, eh? It’s a good thing one can’t call out of the futons we sleep in here⎼I imagine our new friends have had enough falling for one day! And with that, I bid you both a good night!”
“Yes, good night,” Akari wishes the group ‘good night’ and leaves to catch up with Laventon. Rook, the beastmen, and the faes catch Akari mumbling to herself: “A rift in the sky… People falling from it… The world is full of mysteries.”
“Alright, how should we separate into groups for the night,” Trey breaks the brief silence.
“I think we should do it by dorm,” Vil suggested.
“How about we pick our own groups,” Leona countered, not wanting to be with his dorm mates. The group separated into different smaller groups and went into their temporary quarters for the night.
...to be continued

Twisted wonderland Angst
are you ready to read some angst i made at 2:am bc i was high on caffeine? I HOPESO SO LETS GET INTO IT.
TW- major character death (Yuu dies) heavy angst no comfort, bad grammar, basic angst trigger warnings FYI-Yuu is using he/they pronouns(like mine.), but i'll try to use they more.
this is going to suck but who cares? please do read the TW, I don't wanna trigger anything
A BIT OF INFO-a blot phantom started to attack the school,IDK how but just go with it I guess
3rd person POV-
Fire scorched throughout the collage campus. Bodies were everywhere Yuu stepped, and the cries of the damned echoed through the chaos, like a never-ending melody of pain and suffering. Yuu ran and ran, their breath growing heavier with each passing moment. Blood poured from their wounds, almost like popping open a bottle of blood-red wine. Yuu's feet seemed to have a mind of their own, for they kept running, even though each step felt like walking on broken glass. None of that mattered to Yuu, for all they cared about was finding Grimm.
Yuu finally came across Grimm. But he was in no condition to fight the monster.Grimm's right ear had a piece missing, and lots of gashes and wounds bleeding. "Oh gods, Grimm! "Yuu murmured to the cat, "Let's get you healed. "Grimm's blue eyes peered at the person holding him."Y-Yuu? Are you alri-"Grimm got cut off by yelling. "YUU!GRIMM!"Called Ace. He surprisingly looked unscathed. "Ace," Yuu said," take Grimm the hospital wing. Get him healed as soon as you can.I need to go do something." Handing the cat to the ginger, Yuu took off, leaving Ace to help Grimm.
. . . . . . . Yuu staggered, running as best as he could, as far as possible from that monster. It held a dagger with swords floating around its distasteful head. The beast roared, following. There was nobody to help Ramshackle's Prefect, with nobody but them around. With a sudden movement, a sword came down, piercing into Yuu's back, Knocking them down. Turning their head just in time to watch the beast float away, most likely to find its next Victim, Yuu crawled over to the nearest solid surface, which happened to be an apple tree. Propping themself into a sitting position, Yuu pulled off the locket that they held a picture of the first-year gang in. "heh, I’m gonna miss you guys, huh."They chuckled to nobody. Memorys washed over Yuu, as if he was watching a movie. . . . . . . .". ACE! "Deuce yelled, "WHERE IS MY HISTORY NOTEBOOK! I KNOW YOU HAVE IT" "Uh,Duece, bestie,"Ace started, "I kinda, sorta lost it..." "YOU WHAT-" . . . *BOOM* Epel blinked,"well, that ain't good." Jack groaned"our alchemy assignment just blew up Epel,of course its not good," . . . .. . . ."YUU~YUU~"Ace sang."What Ace?"Yuu asked."well," Ace started *SMACK* The ginger wacked Yuu across the head with a textbook. . . . . . . . Yuu wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, knowing that they were going to die and will never see their friends or family again. And yet.Yuu was..happy,They smiled faintly before whispering to themself,"I'm going to come back as a ghost and kill those idiots...."A single tear ran down Yuu face as they slowly lost conscious. Listening to the ballad of screams and sheer pain, and panic of the people who were being pulverized by the monster, Yuu had one single thought,'Time eats all in the end..”
With one last deep breath,Yuu's pulse came to a stop.
this was shorter then i planned

During class she was said to be a little strict, almost ruthless, but passionate. Demanding the full attention of all students and they pay attention to the subject matter at hand.
“People say that today’s youth have no appreciation for classic literature nor knowledge. Well, we are about to change that. Because if you want to understand modern literature, you need to know the classics as well! Those which influenced us!” had been her introduction to one of her two subjects. No slacking, that one was obvious. With a cold glare, staring around the room and making all the students freeze on the spot, right in their seats. They were terrified at first, shivers going down their spines.
And well, honestly, he had never seen her like this either. until that day It was a new side, one he got to know when he was a freshman. And maybe he had been the only one in the room who found it to be an amusing sight rather than a scary one, even grinning in amusement, right in the front row. She had spotted it of course and only scoffed before having continued her speech that day
“So, I will make sure to educate you properly on the great works of our world. And you will go out here liking them! I’m making it my mission. So… Be prepared to have to work yourselves to the bone!” – Sounding as eager and stubborn as always, even with that serious mask on her face. Then again, she couldn’t help it whenever literature was involved. It was honestly adorable. A passionate writer, thus she had to hold this big speech about authors who had already passed on, only leaving a legacy with their words which had all been carried on by generations. Was it because she wanted to be no exception? Haha, maybe. But that was an educated guess if anything.
But no matter, she had her way with words and stayed true to this promise. Right away she made it more than obvious that she was not going to tolerate any slacking, the first period onwards. But most would listen either way, a bit too caught up with what she had to say. Even distractions remained relevant to the topic at hand, oddly enough. A tangent about for example what other literature used these influences, as if proving a point. A work of art which was well known in the classroom, as if encouraging a conversation. A passionate yet hectic class, to say the least. But she knew what she was doing, she always did.
This was her teacher's side, so absorbed that she became overly serious whenever teaching. Then again, when literature is involved, then she just couldn’t help herself. She could even teach the elderly something new in her field of expertise. In class the students seem to respect her and most pay attention. But that was only one side. One. Because there were two on campus… All thanks to an instinct almost coming naturally to her…
“Now, open wide~” It was not rare to hear this young teacher say something in a sweet, doting voice, a wide smile on her face, with a fork in hand which had a small piece of a strawberry tart on it. The one who had not escaped that day and barely does was the housewarden of Heartslabyul himself. It was not a rarity for him to end up in these situations, being poked and coddled. And he was always turning as red as his own hair when he was in such a position, claiming that it was an unbefitting position for a house warden such as himself. And even then… Even with that in mind… She wouldn’t budge. A teacher nonetheless! Breaking a crucial rule! Or so Riddle liked to claim whenever in this situation.
“Miss Ann, this is unbefitting for a teacher!” He would say, even now, looking around for someone to save him, anyone. But at most he could only see people snickering, watching this unfold. And even he found himself looking, even though he was further away.
It was as if she was just treating Riddle like her own little child, a son she cannot take her eyes away from. And she made it very clear. “Aww, this isn’t class Little Riddle~” Ann chuckled, the piece in front of his mouth now, as if trying to tempt him. “Let me give you a reward for your hard work. You were the only one with a perfect score on today’s pop quiz!”
“Must I remind you of rule–”
“Haha, don’t be so uptight now. There’s nothing wrong with rewarding you for your efforts~” And she wasn’t listening, making no attempt whatsoever. Instead she was just chuckling all over the place.
“A… A teacher shouldn’t play favo—” But Riddle did not get to finish his sentence. Instead his mouth was filled with the small piece of strawberry tart soon after, him being forced to munch on it now.
“But I’m not. Not in class anyway.” Was her counter. “Now eat up. I insist.”
The redhead only stared at her from the side, possibly having her smile in view. He was embarrassed, clearly, not being used to all the smothering he was experiencing right now. Even from afar one could spot the red cheeks and the gaze facing away while chewing slowly. Despite the embarrassment he was trying to savor the taste, or so it seemed.
A quick swallow and before he knew it however the next small piece was in front of his lips, making him look all flustered yet again. Yes, this was certainly like watching a mother sweetly pestering her precious son. Even if the little boy had grown up, she would still insist.
“M… Miss Ann… I can eat myself.” Though Riddle sounded defeated. Maybe he finally came to realize for this moment there was no winning against someone this stubborn. He would try, even if ever so weakly.
“Certainly. But I want to. feed you anyway~” She responded, her free arm suddenly patting the boy’s head and messing up his hair a little.
“Wha– Hey! That—”
“No buts, alright? Alright, another bite~”
“S… Seriously, you—” But silenced by having the piece shoved into his mouth. Talk about a nostalgic sight.
It was a mere taste, a taste of her other nature. But that was Miss Ann. She was in her own league, doing whatever she wanted. And she got away with it, to some extent. Who would put a stop to her? No student. Not even the headmage seemed to never have been able to— Ah no, that may be a story for another day. There is no need to spoil the fun just yet. You will have to come back for more if you wish to figure it out.
That wouldn’t change much of this scene however. This was a frequent occurrence, flipping behaviors like a switch. One side in class, the other with her students outside of class. She had cared deeply, didn’t she? Until the very end… As overbearing as she had been in her lifetime… It had made it all worthwhile in the end, hadn’t it? At least it’s fun to look back on.

I know that yuu going for every event just so the player can experience the event from their pov, but I do wonder if in game, yuu are just tired of being dragged places. the first few times probably were fun! they got to experience different places in a world they don't know! but after the second time, I feel like it would get exhausting, especially considering some kind of chaos follows them onto their trips. I can imagine yuu desperately trying not to go on trips only for luck to constantly be against them haha
Tumblr media
Yeah, most likely! There's always some convenient excuse that amounts to Yuu and Grim being present yet insignificant 99% of the time.
The most egregious example of convenience that comes to my mind is how Yuu and Grim went along to the City of Flowers/Fleur City.. Crowley claimed they might be able to gain more knowledge of how to get Yuu back to their original world from this conference for talented young mages. (That topic never comes up again in the event.) Depending on who you ask, you might find fans that say it's a missed opportunity that the ONE event where being magicless is an advantage, they didn't give Yuu a bigger role in saving the day and instead relegated to them to off-screen involvement.
I feel like Yuu actually doesn’t mind traveling to places beyond NRC! (After all, as large as the school’s campus is… surely it starts to feel samey after a while, a change of scenery would be welcome.) Most events which involve travel typically give you the chance to pick between two dialogue options to express your own interest in tagging along (though it is typically Grim who first expresses wanting to go).
There’s really no down sides to it either—they don’t have to pay for transportation, food, or housing so every trip is basically a free vacation and a chance to experience extremely different countries and cultures!! The set-ups can be super swanky too due to how affluent some of the students hosting them are (Kalim, Leona, now Vil). No jet lag either, since the Mirror of Darkness instantly teleports them to wherever they want to go. That’s the dream life 😂 And while it’s true that problems sometimes arise during these trips, they’re often small personal conflicts that Yuu and Grim don’t need to intervene in or help with. (Someone insulted Deuce’s mom, competing against the delinquents/RSA in a race, helping the fireworks guy, seeing who wins Catch the Tail, etc.) It’s definitely more relaxed overall than Crowley knocking on their door every few weeks to personally ask them to fix problems.
I guess it really depends on the type of Yuu you have in mind (assuming we’re talking Yuusonas and not the generic in-game Yuu)? I can see why constantly going on trips might be exhausting if you picture Yuu as being more introverted, or perhaps more short-tempered or tired due to whatever else they have on their plate. It would suck if they didn’t actually enjoy their travels…

🎁 Birthday Without A Gift | Jamil Viper x Reader
>> requested: yes, by @pandoa >> a/n: Thank you for feeding my urge to make angst
Tumblr media
>> masterlist: here!! >> summary: you forget about his birthday >> reader prns: they/them >> warning(s): second pov; you replace yuu
Tumblr media
It was around 6 am when Jamil woke up on September 12th. A lifetime of waking up early can do that to you, even on your birthday.
He wasn't surprised to not see anyone awake yet. Of course, Jamil still had to do things on his birthday. He couldn't just leave his responsibilities for the whole day. But, he would like to see you. even if it was just for a little bit.
Walking into the kitchen, Jamil started to make breakfast for Kalim. By seven, the meal was prepared and ready to serve to the housewarden.
"Good morning, Jamil!" Kalim smiled as Jamil opened the door to his bedroom. Now, Kalim is not a morning bird, but he refuses to close his curtains, so he wakes up with the sun.
"Good morning, Kalim." Jamil nodded, as he placed the tray down in front of the white-haired boy. "How was your rest?"
"It was good, thank you Jamil," Kalim said as he dug into his meal.
Closing the door behind him, Jamil let out a small smile. One task completed. One task closer to hanging out with you.
Tumblr media
As the day progressed, all Jamil could focus on was seeing you for his birthday. Surely you didn't forget it, right? You always seemed to know when everyone's birthday was... It was truly an otherworldly talent of yours.
"Prefect! Prefect!" Broken out of his thoughts, Jamil heard someone calling you. Looking over, he saw Kalim... running up to you and hugging you?
"Come on, Prefect! I just have to show you something!" Kalim grabbed you by the hand and running away from Jamil.
I can always see them later. Jamil nodded to himself. It was only around 2 pm; there was plenty of time for him and you to talk together.
Tumblr media
Jamil didn't see you or Kalim the rest of the day. He had resorted to waiting outside of Ramshakle for you to return.
Tumblr media
It was 10:26 PM when you got back to the broken-down dorm.
"Prefect," Jamil said. "I was wondering if—"
"Jamil... I can't tonight. I was out all day with Kalim and I guess we lost track of time but..." You sighed. "I'm really sorry, Jamil. I just... need to sleep right now. Sleep well."
You closed the door in his face.
Jamil stood there, shell shocked. He couldn't even look turn away from the dorm as tears welled in his eyes. All he could think about was one thing: You forgot about his birthday.

REVIEWS OF THE WEEK!
EVERY WEEK I WILL POST VARIOUS REVIEWS I’VE WRITTEN SO FAR IN 2024. YOU CAN CHECK OUT MY GOODREADS FOR MORE UP-TO-DATE REVIEWS HERE.
___
82. Mile High by Liz Tomforde--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MILE HIGH is the epitome of those romance books where they're a million hours long (in audiobook format) and even though everything seems like it's going well, there are still 10+ hours left in the book. My anxiety had a field day with that one and even though I was terrified, I really wanted to see these two get the happy ending they deserved.
I knew there was a lot of hype around MILE HIGH. In fact, I had convinced myself that I would probably not like it because sometimes hyped up things are just not for me. But I was very happy to find that I actually really, really enjoyed this. The chemistry between these two characters pulled me in, and their mature way of going through life together (save for a couple of instances) made me want to stay. Also, holy, that spice? Jaysus.
There's some pretty great conversations in this about self-worth and how we view ourselves and our bodies. Being someone who has always had a messy relationship with my body, this book was almost healing? The way the MMC talks to the FMC and helps her grow into a more genuinely confident woman was empowering. Even though he was that person who is really good at giving at advice but has a harder time retaining said advice for himself, this only made him more relatable as a person.
I loved the side characters and I'm salty that I didn't read their story before meeting them in this one. I also really loved how supportive they all were.
I enjoyed a lot of things about this book and save for some of the decisions made and admittedly, the length of the book, this was such a great and sexy read. I'm glad I gave it a shot! Now I need the sequel.
___
83. My Love Mix-Up! Vol. 3 by Wataru Hinekure (Writer) , Aruko (Illustrator) , Jan Cash (Translator)--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Okay, this was FREAKING CUTE. This volume had me kicking my feet in bed like an excited child. I'm so excited to see more of this relationship as it develops!
But I also loved seeing the best friends finally be more honest with each other. I'm excited, as well, to see that one relationship grow and change.
There was more honesty in this volume and more silly hijinks.
I can't say too much because spoilers LOL but I really liked how the characters were being called out for being scared to admit how they were feeling. I think everyone worked off each other really well.
___
84. Under Currents by Nora Roberts--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
UNDER CURRENTS started a bit differently than the past suspense books I've read by Nora Roberts and I think it was different mainly because it was from the POV of a MMC. It was also something that I could tell had some seriously dark undertones. And this book was DARK in that it dealt with a lot of physical abuse. It's not the darkest I've read, but it was still a bit surprising to see--which isn't a bad thing, it was almost slightly refreshing after I read a few of Robert's books.
I also liked that while this did have its similar formulaic outline as Roberts's past suspenseful romance novels, it deviated in some instances. That kept me on my toes, even though I could still kind of guess where the story was going.
What I will comment on is the fact that there was so much random kissing others on their lips? Like, not couples. Just like, an old ex gf who is married kissing her childhood dance date on the lips "lightly" as a platonic thing, or the FMC kissing a teen boy in "thanks" "lightly" on the lips. LOL why was there so much random light kissing on others' lips? It was weird LOL.
Anyway, another fun romantic suspense novel! Will hopefully pick up another Roberts book in the near future!
___
85. Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! by Yuu Toyota--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Okay, I really enjoyed CHERRY MAGIC! even if it gave me severe secondhand embarrassment LOL. I was screeching and giggling as I read the dirty thoughts going through the love interest's mind. I especially related to how the MC notices how different thoughts can be from the look on a person's face. It's so easy to hide what you're thinking because your brain and the privacy of your thoughts is that one part of you that truly belongs to you.
I like this concept and I'm excited to see how these two characters get on. Have I already ordered the next three volumes? Maybe...
___
86. Ready or Not by Cara Bastone--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
READY OR NOT was so much more than I was anticipating. I already loved this trope, but the way Cara Bastone explored this topic and the relationships surrounding the protagonist and her friends and love interest was done so well.
While this was definitely about the pregnancy the MC experiencing from the very beginning of the book, READY OR NOT was more about the characters and how all relationships have various levels to them. Also, how a pregnant woman is sometimes viewed by society--especially one that doesn't fit to the societal norm of how a pregnant woman should present herself and her "situation".
I know that some might view some of the situations as idealistic, I mean this is a fiction novel--the characters get to have idealistic outcomes sometimes. I loved the level of communication between everyone, the MC's level of maturity but also self-awareness. I loved her over-the-top energy levels and how she herself had some pretty big character growth moments.
I also listened to the audiobook of READY OR NOT and phew, that narrator was GREAT. She fully committed to the role and gave the MC so much personality. Also, the smuttier scenes will have you blushing. There weren't a lot of those, but the ones we got were definitely worth the wait after the building of anticipation.
This was just such a pleasant read and I think it's one of those drama-free books that will leave many readers happy and surprised.
___
Have you read these books? What were your thoughts?
___
Happy reading!

Even if it seems pointless (AcexReader Vignette)
this is part of a series of one-shots that will later tie into a longer series on my AO3. They're meant to be read like the vignettes in Twisted Wonderland, so if you want a sequel please let me know. The reader is not Yuu. The reader is a student at the OC sister school Fantasia College for girls
3rd person POV
Genre: Fluff
Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
A quiet evening swept over the merged campuses. (Name) walked along the long bridge that had been placed there magically by the three sister head mages, and the magical lanterns that dotted the spires created artificial stars. She loved the sights, as it was something she had only seen pictures of from her older brother and parents. At this time of night, students needed special permissions to pass the grand threshold which formally separated the sister campuses, but (Name) had been given such permission. She was currently on her way to deliver some outfits crafted by the Gothelweiss dorm to Ramshackle and elected to take the more scenic route. There was no mirror that was a direct link regardless, so it was better to go around.
(Name) happily trotted through the campus before arriving at the rickety steps of Ramshackle, a place she once feared at the beginning of the year, but now had grown to love with how much time she spent with her friends here. She rubbed a little sleep out of her eyes before peering in the windows to see if any lights were on, but all she saw was darkness. She approached the door as usual, and knocked, not really expecting a response due to how late it was. A few seconds went by before checking the instructions that her House warden had texted her. One of the immediate instructions was to text her when she arrived, so she shot the worrying house warden a message before scrolling up.
“So I just gotta go in and place it in the lounge. Simple enough.” (Name) knew through many antics that the lock on Ramshackle didn’t exactly work, and it was easy to just enter. “Two twists to the left, then jiggle the knob up…” and with her little chant, the lock unlatched. It was a trick that Ace figured out a few weeks into the school year when Yuu tried to lock him out in jest. (Name) could only giggle at the memory as Ace then gave Yuu the rant of a lifetime.
(Name) peeked her head in, without the lights, it was hard to see the end of Ramshackle’s infamously haunted hallways. (Name) didn’t want to wake anyone up, so she took her phone and illuminated the hall with the gentle light of her screen. “How eerie. I didn’t know Yuu and Grim sleep in conditions like this on the regular…” (Name) gently crept her way into the lounge, hugging the wall as to not knock anything over. “Let’s see… I guess I could place it on the coffee table--” as (Name) was contemplating and whispering to herself where to leave the goods, her phone buzzed. She quickly swipes at it and looks at the illuminated text from her house warden.
“Ace, Deuce, and Grim are on the floor. Be careful not to trip on them?” (Name) furrowed her brow before turning her light on the floor, illuminating all aforementioned with her phone. All three were splayed out, completely still, and all looking at her.
“Oh, you were right, Ace. It was (Name).” Deuce remarked, not moving from the floor, entirely flat.
“I told you. Only one besides us that knows the twist twist jiggle trick on the door is us, Yuu, and (Name).”
“Oi, someone could have figured it out!” Deuce tried to retort, but Ace only scoffed and rolls his eyes to the back of his immobile skull.
“That fast? You’re dumber than ever on poison.” Grim cackled and would have crossed his little arms had they not been attached to the floor.
“I wouldn’t be poisoned if Ace hadn’t made me eat the poison!” Deuce once again argued, but Ace wasn’t having any of it tonight.
“You scarfed down that food like the rest of us! Don’t act all honor student on us!” Ace hissed “But hey, this is great! (Name)’s here, she can just heal us and we’re good to go!” He brightly smiled at (Name) as if he was a beacon of innocence. “You wouldn't believe it (Name), we’re being treated awfully here!”
“I somehow doubt that…” (Name) replied with a bit of an awkward smile.
“Look, I’ll tell you all about it when I can move again, so, please! Use that flower magic!”
“Okay, okay, hang on,” (Name) was about to kneel down to ace first and activate her signature spell when her phone that she was using for light let out a buzz. She instinctively turned it towards her face, and read off the message. Her lip curled downward slightly as she comprehended what her dorm leader just sent her. “Do not heal them.”
“What?! Who said that? Why can’t you heal us? We’re just gonna go straight to bed!” Ace tried to argue, and Grim agreed.
“Yeah! It’s not even our fault that we got this way!” Grim added, giving a huff after his sentence.
“Rest in bed would be far more beneficial to this.” Deuce tried to rationalize his own selfish desires to be in the slightly more comfortable Ramshackle dorm bed, but (Name) only shook her head.
“Housewarden knows best, that is the motto of Gothelweiss.” (Name) perked up slightly. “That’s how the great trust of the golden mother permeates through our dorm.”      “Sounds authoritarian to me…” Ace replied with a sigh. He knew (Name) well enough to know that once (Name) heard the word of her dorm leader, it was set. There was no convincing her out of it.
“That’s rich coming from a Heartslaybul student.” (Name) replied with puffed cheeks. “I don’t know what you did to get yourselves into this mess, but if Aster says you deserve it, you probably do.”
“Even Riddle isn’t this strict! It’s practically torture!” Ace tried once again to tear at (Name)’s heartstrings, but she only shook her head. “Man, of all the times for you to get stubborn…”
“Bwah! Hmf! I’m not stubborn!” (Name) huffed. She was quick to cross her arms and look away in a childish stance.
“Can you two not do this while we’re stuck like this? It’s honestly the worst.” Grim complained. Grim swore up and down that the two of them bickering the way they did wasn’t anything like the rest of the group’s bickering.
“How did you guys get stuck like this anyways?” (Name) chose to brush past the request of Grim, as it’s something that she’s been denying for a while now. She refused to acknowledge that anything could be different between the two of them.
“Ace and Grim wanted to snack late at night, I just came down for water.” It was Deuce’s turn to appear innocent, but Grim and Ace were quick to humble him.
“You were our agreed partner in this crime when you took that bite!”
“So it is a crime…” (Name) picked out the parts that flowed a little to easily for the floor boys.
“Ah- did I say crime?” Ace gave (Name) a smile before she sighed and decided to sit down on the floor with them. She leaned her back against a couch in the lounge and placed the package she had brought next to her. She motioned for Ace to continue. “So it’s like this…”
After a bit of retelling, (Name) is left with a bit of a yawn while Grimm happily snored away. He was adding details here and there, but eventually fell asleep against the rickety wood floor. (Name) saw her yawn travel from her to Deuce, as Deuce was practically comatose. The only one that was left even somewhat responsive was Ace.
“I can’t believe how powerful Vil is, his signature spell is amazing.” (Name) remarked. Her own house warden had spoken praises to him before, but now she really saw his power.
“That’s what you get out of the story!? No pity for your pal Ace?” Ace sighed before glancing up again at (Name), who was deep in thought over Vil’s spells. While he didn’t know exactly what time it was, he knew it was late enough to be dangerous. Any later would be even more dangerous. While he didn’t want her to leave, he knew she had to. “Oi. shouldn’t you be getting back now? It’s really late.”
“I was just about to, I’m really tired.” (Name) lifted herself off the ground and gave a hefty stretch. “I’m sure Aster is wondering where I am. I can’t worry her further.” (Name) reassured. Ace gave a slight pout. Of course, she’s more worried about Aster’s well-being than she is her own. He never really liked how overbearing Aster was, even as a House warden. She begins to make her way out the door, but Ace called out to her once more.      “Text me when you get back.”
(Name) whipped around, and gave him a confused look. “But you won’t be able to read it? You’re paralyzed.”      “My phone is in my pocket. I’ll hear the chime and know it’s you.”
“Oh! Okay! I guess that makes sense” (Name) didn’t think much of it beyond that. It was late, it made enough sense that anyone texting him this late would be her. “Good night guys! I’ll see you later!” with the creak and click of Ramshackle’s doors, (Name) was out into the night again.
“... you didn’t tell her that she has a special chime on your phone,” Deuce stated from the dark, stirring from his pseudo-slumber.
“She doesn’t need to know that!” Ace snapped before letting out a sigh “She’s the last person that needs to know that…”

Coming home to you!
I wrote this for you after seeing your post on wanting Jade to come home. I dunno if you got him or not but here we go! Also, I saw on your blog that she/her so I made the reader female. I apologize if I got it wrong. Please do know that I wrote this in the feel of the moment and I’m sorry if this doesn’t seem accurate to Jade’s character.
This one is for @clovcly
Warnings: None just some pure fluff
Part 1
Tumblr media
Your POV:
After finishing up your daily schedules you’re waiting for Jade’s return from home. Although you live together Jade has been more busy than normal at work. You’re typically asleep when he comes back and when you leave, he’s either asleep or gone already. Things were about to change though, earlier today you received a text from Jade saying that he’ll come back on time today. Excited to finally see your lover, you decided to prepare both his and your favorite meals to eat tonight. It took some battles in the kitchen as it’s normally Jade who cooks, but you’re happy with the outcome.
You had just finished making dinner when you heard the front door swing open.
Jade’s POV:
At work, his inner thoughts.
I haven’t seen her for a couple of days. I love my work, but I want to see more of her. The only time we get together is when I hold her in bed. It’s frustrating. We’re close but we’re not at the same time. Today should mark the end of all that pent up frustration though. Afterall, the current project I had been working on just wrapped up today.
I should let her know that I can finally come home on time today. With a small smile on his face the eel sends his warning.
“I’ll be back home at my normal time today”
*ding*
“Okay, I’ll be waiting for you!”
Tumblr media
The small smile on Jade’s face slowly formed into a bigger grin at the thought of you waiting for him at home.
Jade: Now then, I should get her a surprise on my home today.
Floyd: He’s at it again.
Azul: Let him be, you know how he gets when it comes to her.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Attention, there has been a wild eel spotted looking at none other than a moray eel plush. Along with an octopus looking at pots.
Jade’s POV:
Jade: Hmm, should I pick the moray eel for her or the crab plush?
Floyd: Didn’t you already buy her both? How about buying this instead?
Jade: You’re right that suits her much more~
Floyd: Should we get this for Azul as well~
Azul: Count me out of your random purchases.
At the front door:
Jade’s inner thoughts: Shall I try something new and enter through the window instead of the front door. I could make it seem like I’m opening the door with magic then fly in through the window. That would get her attention for sure. Oh, but she’s probably waiting near the door to greet me. I guess that plan would have to wait. Till next time.
Your POV:
Since the door was opening you ran to see your lover after his long day at work. There you greeted him with a warmhearted smile.
You: Welcome back!
Jade: *hugging you* I’m back. Hmm I can smell dinner already. Did you make dinner all by yourself?
You: Nope. Our neighbors came in for a quick visit then they ate all of the food. Grim claimed that he thought it was for him. The food on the table are the ones I forced them to help me make.
Jade: So, Ace, Deuce, Grim, and Yuu all ate the food you made for us?
You: *you smiling without a care in the world cause your man was back home* Yes.
Jade: Well, now I know what I’m doing tomorrow.
You: Ye- wait what! Don’t those poor unfortunate souls are the ones who helped make you dinner in the first place.
Jade: They’re also the ones who ate it all, were they not?
Knowing hell was about to break out you came up with some excuse to save those neighbors of yours. Especially since you know what he’s capable of. Pushing Jade over to the table you finally eat and enjoy a nice conversation. Or so you think.
Jade’s POV:
Honestly I don’t really know what I’m tasting. She’s just too cute. Look at her eating her food like she’s been starved for days. Oh that’s right, the present. I need to make sure I give it to her. I almost forgot about it because of her cuteness.
You: Jade, is there something on my face you keep staring at me.
Jade: No there’s nothing on your face. I’m just staring.
You: *sweating bullets* Are you sure? The face you’re making at me says something else.
Jade: Oh my, you don’t seem to trust your lover. How disappointing.
Fast forward dinner
Your POV:
You and Jade had been cleaning up the dishes when you noticed him disappear. You didn’t think much of it and decided to finish up the rest since there wasn’t much left. Little did you know your lover had quite the surprise for you.
Part 3
Tumblr media
Your POV:
Twisting the door to your bedroom open, Jade greeted you in an eel onesie.
This is his pose:
Tumblr media
Baaam! Closing the door one more time because you could hardly believe your eyes. There he was in the middle of bed, in an eel onesie while posing like that one guy. This meant trouble. Taking a deep breath to prepare for what was to come, slowly you open the door once more.
Jade: Come closer~
You were scared of what was to become of the situation. This wasn’t what you had in mind for the events after dinner. Even so, this was the man you feel in love with. You loved his weirdly refreshing actions that caught you off guard. Which is why you didn’t hesitate and jumped into bed.
You: So what are we going to do next?
Jade: Change into this!
After you changed
You: I thought we were going to be matching in eel onesies, but why is it that I’m an anemone?
Jade: Actually, Floyd suggested I get matching ones too. Yet, I knew you would look cuter as an anemone.
Jade was smiling like a fool in pure bliss, there was no way for you to tell him the truth. To be honest, the reason you didn’t want to wear this was because Ace and Deuce both have matching ones. You gave it to them earlier today when they visited. For now, you decided to leave him in the dark before the moment broke.
You: Well, I guess it’s time to go into dreamland now.
Jade: How mean, I was hoping I could have some more fun looking at you like this.
Laying down in bed Jade gave you one more kiss for the night and hugged you tight. Although the two of you slept in the same bed each night you felt closer to him than the other nights. Wrapping your arms around Jade you fell asleep peacefully after wishing him a good night.
Meanwhile next door to the lovely couple:
Ace: Ariel, listen to me the human world, it's a mess~
Deuce: Life under the sea Is better than anything they got up there
Yuu: The seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake, you dream about going up there but that is a big mistake
Grim: Under the sea!!!! Under the sea~
Ace: Wait! Grim, that's not the lyrics!
Grim: Well that’s the only lyrics I know!
Deuce: But the lyrics are in front of you!
Yuu: *takes photos of the mess* I should send this to the neighbors~
