How did Eclipse survive Sun's magical explosion? It destroyed the entire bunker and left a huge crater behind. How is Eclipse not dead?

Thank you anon for this question! I was thinking about exactly the same thing! (I'm not kidding! It's a little spoopy~! Can you read in people's minds, anon? 🤔😏)

So there are only two options!

1) Eclipse is extremely lucky bastard!

2) Sun spared him.

And I'm going with option 2, obviously.

And why Sun spared Eclipse you may ask? Especially if he wanted to kill this evil mfer!

I hope I'll be able to explain it as best as I can. So here we go!

Eclipse is hella smart! He played his cards against Sun very well. It was genius move to not reveal himself at first. He could see what Sun really wanted to do. He was testing what Sun is capable of. And it worked perfectly. Because a) Eclipse was sure that Sun is ready to attack b) Sun is unstable and the most important c) Sun revealed his motives (which was wrong move on Sun's part but Sun isn't in a best state of mind rn so... well) which is protecting Moon from any danger. Sun wanted to make sure no one will hurt Moon.

Why it was wrong move on Sun's part? Well... Eclipse knows Sun very well. He knows every weaknesses Sun has. And one of those weaknesses is that Sun can't protect Moon. He was never able to do that before. So he tries to do it now. Eclipse knows this and took advantage of it. He exploited Sun weakness per usual. He already won the battle then.

Eclipse already had an advantage over Sun physically because Solar Flare's body was made for combat and especially to combat body built from nanomachines which is way more durable than Sun's body. Also Sun can't fight. He wasn't created for that. He's strong but not as much compared to Bloodmoon or Solar Flare. So when Sun attacked Eclipse, the latter could easily do what he did. And then Eclipse waa upperhand which completely took Sun of guard. He lost all of his cool.

And the rest was just a piece of cake for Eclipse. He not only threatened Sun that he'll kill him. He also played with Sun's fear that maybe Moon wouldn't care if Sun died. And of course Eclipse said about his deal with Moon. To shaken Sun up even more. Eclipse also fully aware of how strong Sun's magic is, pressed him to use it and Sun had BM's taunting still fresh in mind and boom! Sun exploded with magic.

Oh, well. My answer doesn't exactly explain what saved Eclipse's ass. You may not believe me but the thing that saved Eclipse's life was him mentioning about his deal with Moon. Doesn't seem like it but that's true.

So, Sun wanted to protect Moon, right? And that's why he wanted to get rid of their enemies, right? And like I said Sun didn't exactly feel like he was helping Moon. He wasn't able to protect his brother. Also Sun isn't in the right state of mind rn. I don't know if you saw any of my posts but I was explaining there that I think that Sun feels like everything is his fault. That everything bad that happened to Moon is his fault. Sun feels like he's evil. That's why he acts and sounds like Eclipse. Because Eclipse is evil. And Sun is unconsciously channeling his fear of being evil. He blames himself even more than he blames Eclipse. After all Eclipse spawned from him, from his code. Sun feels personally responsible for Eclipse's existence and actions.

Besides that Eclipse said that he wants to help Moon to get rid of Kill Code which is something that Sun wasn't able to do from the very beginning when Sun and Moon still shared a body. So for Sun it seemed that Moon was willing to get help from their worst enemy before he would ask for help his own brother. Sun truly believes that he's useless. But if Eclipse would really be able to help Moon so let's be it. That's why Sun spared Eclipse. Because Sun isn't able to help Moon. Sun knows that. Eclipse knows that. And even Moon seems to know that.

Eclipse exploited Sun's desire to protect and help Moon. He took advantage of Sun's poor state of mind. And that's why Sun listened to Eclipse when he told him that he endangered Moon. And that's why Sun believed Eclipse when he said that he can still fix this mistake by going to Golden Freddy. Despite Sun being dog-tired, he still did what Eclipse told him. Because Sun well-being doesn't matter when there is Moon safety on the line.

And now Eclipse will probably absorb this magic to be able to defend himself from whoever might attack him. That was Eclipse's plan from the beginning. But don't worry about Moon. He still has his own magic. This is just an excess of Moon's magic. It's something similar to what Lord Monty had at his place. So Eclipse won't take Moon's entire magic away nor Moon is trapped in his head with no way out. That was just Eclipse's trick to play Sun to do what he wants.

I can't blame people for wanting to strangle Eclipse or beat him or kick his sorry ass. Because what Eclipse did to Sun now and before was so awful that it can't be justified in any way.

Is there any saved something you have which needs context, and that you definitely could write a whole post essay about, and maybe even wanted to, if someone had only asked or only the opportunity had arisen?

And if so, would you like to use this ask as a perfect excuse to do so~? ;)

One time I conceptualized a 1st year sleepover at Ramshackle event type thingy. They’ve had them before but what can i say— im a sucker. It’s was more so catered specifically towards things involving my MC and their specific issues, but, for brevities sake— it involved trying to cheer up the Prefect, then in trying to come up with something cool to do, one guy has a brilliant plan and it suddenly becomes an unwanted escape room/home-invasion horror movie thanks to a magic skeleton key that fucked with Ramshackle. I never ironed out the details. But here are 5 out of 6 hypothetical “cards” I drew for it.

These are all hella old, and the only thing that bugs (aside from never finishing Ace’s rip, sorry😭 ) is that I drew them on a canvas that was too small and I didn’t notice until it was too late!! Then i had the grand idea to make them bigger, but that made them more jank. So the quality has been compromised across the board. There’s a lot I’d change design wise nowadays. BUT I’M STILL a fan of Deuce and Ortho’s appearances specifically (even if there are minor things i’d adjust, like maybe Ortho’s pose since i wasnt comfy drawing him and his machinery aesthetic yet.)

Hypothetical “SSR” belongs to Sebek because at the time he didn’t have an event specific one. This era was a throw a bone W. Nowadays I just want the guy to always have Ws.

It’s a little janky presentation wise across the board imo, so if I ever come back to this one day with more refinement, everyone is getting redone. And maybe Ace can be an “SSR” too to make up for never finishing his image (not showing the old wip). No promises though, even dropping this much in the states they’re in is enough to shoot my nerves tbh. I like the base idea fine, but it could do with a lot more refinement everywhere. AND NEXT TIME I’D REMEMBER THE RESOLUTION SIZE. BUT YEAH THATS IT REALLY the end. This wasn’t an essay this was venting lmfao rip

This election day, I'm thinking of my Nana.

I'm thinking of how as a young woman, she fled political violence in her native Colombia to build a new home in a more stable country. I'm thinking about how she lived a long life, but not long enough to see her home country elect its first ever progressive president (just a few months ago!).

Coincidentally, I was living in Colombia at that time (in the very city she grew up in), and I was able to witness what felt like a miracle. A very conservative country, suffering from the violent inheritance of colonization and catholic invasion and the war on drugs, against a backdrop of the dangerous global rise of the far right--this unlikely country managed to elect one of the most progressive heads of state in the world, in 2022. That's a pretty big deal.

And I'm thinking about this, this election day, because that election was won by a very thin margin. I'm thinking about how it almost didn't happen. I'm thinking about how it was only possible thanks to the highest voter turnout in 20 year. And I am thinking about the countless number of voters who chose to vote for the first time. I am thinking of the poorest and most disenfranchised citizens who showed up at the polls. I am thinking of the indigenous women who rode 12 hours on public buses to vote at the 'nearest' polling stations. I am thinking of all the money and corruption that went into preventing minority citizens from voting, and I'm thinking about how they showed up in the millions and voted anyway.

I am thinking that I would like to see a miracle like that in my own home country.

So if you're on the fence about waiting in line today to cast your vote, I hope that you will think--about the country you want to live in, the future you hope will unfold, and about all of the people it takes to make a miracle.

Because history may deem us nameless and faceless, but when we show up en masse, we are the ones who make history happen.

And yes, maybe also spare a thought for my Nana. Who was in fact a very angry and judgemental woman who supported the republican party for 50+ years, and who would be turning in her grave right now (if the family hadn't had her cremated). Think about the mean angry ghost of my Colombian grandmother, who very much wants you to not show up at the polls to support abortion and other sinful progressive values. Think about her. Do it for her. Do it for Nana.

Floyd's moods are random, but that seems to only really apply to his preferences in things like color and taste, or his level of motivation. He isn't going to stop liking shoes, or basketball, or squeezing people. And he's not going to stop liking you, so yeah. He's going to put in the effort . My main reason for thinking this comes from his beans day vignette:

Floyd explains to Epel he can put up with a bunch of boring stuff if it gets him the result he wants in the end, and that even if he doesn't like it he can find it enjoyable. He might hate every second of trying to find a way to save you, but he loves being with you so he'll endure and do what he's set his mind to. You're worth it to him!
