Calories Burned During Orgasm: Unpacking the Facts and Health Benefits
When understanding how the body burns calories, thinking about exercise, diet, and other health-related activities is common. However, not all calorie-burning activities are strenuous workouts. Sexual activity can also contribute to the amount of calories you burn, and this includes the physical responses involved in reaching an orgasm. While not a significant source of calorie burn, the process of orgasm does engage various muscle groups and bodily systems that contribute to energy expenditure. Title: Powerful Procedures to Lift Your Digestion: Opening the Potential for Weight The Executives and Energy
Presentation:
Digestion assumes a fundamental part in the body's energy consumption and weight the board. Numerous people look for ways of helping their digestion to help weight reduction and generally speaking prosperity. In this article, we will investigate proof-based systems that can assist with improving your digestion normally. By carrying out these methods, you can enhance your metabolic rate and advance a better way of life.
Grasping Digestion:
Digestion alludes to the complicated arrangement of compound responses that happen inside the body to change over food into energy. Basal metabolic rate (BMR) addresses the energy your body needs to keep up with fundamental capabilities while very still. Different variables, like actual work, assimilation, and the thermic impact of food, add to by and large energy consumption.
Assemble Slender Bulk:
One powerful method for supporting digestion is by expanding slender bulk. Muscle tissue requires more energy to keep up with than fat tissue, so the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate. Take part in opposition preparing works out, like weightlifting or bodyweight works out, to animate muscle development and upkeep.
Focus on Protein Admission :
Consuming satisfactory protein is fundamental for sound digestion. Protein has a higher thermic impact on food, meaning it requires more energy to process and ingest contrasted with fats and starches. Moreover, protein is urgent for muscle union and fixing. Incorporate lean wellsprings of protein, like poultry, fish, vegetables, and tofu, in your feasts and tidbits.
Remain Dynamic Over the Course of the Day:
Integrating active work over the course of the day can decidedly affect your digestion. Enjoy reprieves from delayed sitting, participate in short episodes of activity, and consolidate non-practice exercises like strolling or cultivating. These exercises assist with expanding energy consumption and advance a more dynamic way of life.
Get Adequate Rest :
Satisfactory rest is crucial for generally wellbeing, including digestion. Lack of sleep can upset metabolic chemicals, prompting uneven characters and potential weight gain. Go for the gold long stretches of value rest every night to help ideal metabolic capability.
Remain Hydrated
Drinking sufficient water is urgent for keeping a solid digestion. Drying out can diminish metabolic rate, impede processing, and lessen by and large energy levels. Intend to polish off sufficient water over the course of the day and consider hydrating food sources like products of the soil.
Incorporate Extreme cardio exercise (HIIT) :
HIIT includes exchanging times of extraordinary activity with short recuperation periods. This type of activity has been displayed to build digestion and consume calories even after the exercise is finished. Integrate HIIT meetings, for example, running, cycling, or bodyweight works out, into your wellness schedule.
Oversee Feelings of anxiety :
Ongoing pressure can adversely influence digestion. Stress chemicals like cortisol can upset metabolic cycles and advance weight gain. Practice pressure the board procedures like reflection, profound breathing activities, yoga, or taking part in side interests and exercises you appreciate.

KIRK: WHY [PAUSE] MUST-HE-DIE? Why--within eight days? Explain.
What an excellent time for the Shatner Pause. Shatner's choice to deliver these lines as he does--to stress the whys and the must, add the pause, and say the rest normal speed which makes it sound faster than it is--makes it as if Kirk is thinking his way through what he has just been told in real-time, and the words come tumbling together as it all hits: He's the captain and the ship's chief medical officer is telling him that Spock--his first officer, his science officer, and his friend--will certainly die. Kirk is confronted with the finality of McCoy's prognosis and has nowhere to go to avoid it.
MCCOY: I don't know. KIRK: You keep saying that. Are you a doctor or aren't you?
That flare of emotion in response to McCoy's "I don't know"! The last time Kirk looked like that, it was Operation: Annihilate and Kirk expected McCoy to work a miracle, despite McCoy's reservations about the cure working and risking Spock's eyesight. What a terrible weight McCoy has to bear, both from his own conscience and Kirk's expectations of the impossible. (I hope Kirk got him his choice of alcohol after the events of the episode. McCoy deserves it for keeping his wits about him during all of this.)
McCoy states that "there's a growing imbalance of body functions" and that Spock will be killed by "the physical and emotional pressures." How ironic, perhaps, to have the half-Vulcan, half-human character set to die in such a manner: imbalanced internally, down to his very biology, torn between the physical impacts of too much adrenaline to the body (most notably heart damage owing to the increased heart rate and high blood pressure; the other irony is adrenaline can create a loss of appetite and slows the metabolism, yet to alter one's eating habits and start suddenly refusing food is stressful to the body) and the mental impacts of the emotions (to a Vulcan such as Spock, the world is ending for him by this alone, to be confronted by the anger, fear, and anxiety unleashed by the adrenaline).
"No use to ask him, Jim. He won't talk."
And Kirk leaves to confront Spock. This will not be the first time someone will claim Spock won't talk (T'Pau's incredulous, "Thee speaks?") and this will also not be the first time that Kirk will be told not to do something regarding Spock (McCoy advising him against taking the fight, T'Pau telling him not to interfere, and T'Pau giving him a chance to leave.) In other words, call it a challenge and Kirk's decision is to meet it.

potential 'tales of the passerine' au idea that might make it into the au after I sleep it over. Essentially it goes as follows: Danny uses music as a way to 'filter' his food.
Now let me explain.
It stems from the idea that ghosts can feed on the living's emotions. Like how Spectra feeds on teen misery and Ember feeds on fan adoration. For the average ghost its not required, but they can do it.
Gotham, despite having a high population of people, is low on ectoplasm. That is due to the overwhelming amount of emotional energy being poured into the city. To put it simply, the Bad Vibes are smothering the place. There's enough ectoplasm that it's not going to unbalance anything, but it does mean ghosts forming in Gotham are rare. Not enough ectoplasm to bond to.
Anyways, moving on; Danny feeds on ectoplasm naturally. Even when he's repressing his ghost half, he's feeding on it. Maybe not as much as he should, but he's still doing it. It's like eating food or breathing air. It keeps his body healthy in the basic bodily maintenance care way. Since Gotham doesn't have a ton of ectoplasm, he turns to feeding on its Bad Vibes instead to keep himself sustained. It's a win-win!
However, much like the human body processes food, his ghost half has to process those Bad Vibes and filter it out into energy. Otherwise those bad vibes are going to start affecting him, similar to how food can effect your health but from an emotional and behavioral stand point.
That filter is like the ghostly metabolic rate equivalent, and it can only filter out so much stuff at a set time when at rest. Danny's consuming a lot of bad vibes, his metabolism can't keep up on it's own. Danny can then turn and aid his filter by finding more outlets to help burn that excess energy and filter through it faster.
One of these being... *drumroll* music! It doesn't have to be music specifically, it can be any activity that burns human energy as well. But I chose music because i like to make danny a musician, it can be something he used to be interested in when he was younger, forgot about, and only rediscovered after he moved in with bruce.
i haven't decided yet if its something i'm going to actually put into passerine because I haven't fully developed everything else yet. But I thought it was a cool idea and wanted to share.

HOW METABOLISM WORKS
we know what metabolism is, right? that annoying thing that makes skinny girls skinny even though they eat a lot. but how does it actually work? and why do some people have a higher metabolism than others? and how can you boost your metabolism?
metabolism is compounded of 4 things.
1. BMR - basal metabolic rate (70% of your total betabolism)
this is how many calories you burn at rest. if you were to not move at all, not eat, not do anything, just sit and stay alive, this is how many calories you would burn. you can't boost this part, because it depends on age, hight and weight. you can calculate it on different sites. just look up "how to calculate your BMR".
2. NEAT - non-exercise activity thermogenesis (15% of your metabolism)
this is the most important part. these are how many calories you burn by just doing basic activities. ex: brushing your teeth, walking (that is why walking is better than HIITs), sleaning up, washing dishes, talking, moving around etc. (these don't include the exercises you do). by doing as many activities everyday you burn more.
3. TEF - thermic effect of food (10% of your metabolism)
these are how many calories you burn while digesting food. some foods need more energy in order to be burned (ex: protein), some don't. it doesn't make such a huge difference, but usually protein keeps you fuller.
4. EAT - exercise activity thermogenesis (5% of your metabolism)
look at how low the procentage is for exercise. and usually people think that if they exercise they will lose a ton of weight in a short time. ofc, exercising is amazing for health in general and for feeling happier yada yada yada. but it's not the most important when you want to burn more calories. expanding your NEAT activities can burn more than 20 min of intense exercise.
now that we understood how metabolism works, let's see how we can burn more calories and boost our metablism. and no, it's not by drinking some kind of green tea or doing weird rituals.
scientifically, muscle burns a lot more calories than not having it. muscle needs calories to just stay there, on your bones. and this can increase your BMR by a ton.
how do we build muscle? (and no, you won't get bulky by just having a few muscles)
there are two ways. either you do body wight exercises (exercises where you use your body as weight. you can look up exercises) or lifting weights.
for weightloss and metabolism boosting it is recommended to build muscles. doing countless of cardio is not completely useless, but it's not as sustainable. cardio burns more calories ONE time. but afterwards you feel hungrier and with kess energy. strength training doesn't burn as many calories AT ONCE as cardio, but burns more on the long run. and helps you stay skinny longer.
i hope this helped at least one person. stay safe luvs!!

@jegulus-microfic / february 5: hormones / word count: 353
"…the adrenal gland is made up of two glands: the cortex and the medulla. These glands produce hormones in response to stress and regulate blood pressure, glucose metabolism and the body's salt and water balance." James reads aloud as he absentmindedly runs his fingers through Regulus' hair, his head resting in his lap.
They have been studying for end of term exams non-stop for the last four hours and are intending to pull an all-nighter. At this rate, Regulus senses that he will be dreaming about the endocrine system as soon as he gets a chance to sleep.
Even though they are not studying the same major and have different part-time jobs, they try to spend as much time together as possible. If studying is one way of doing it, then so be it. Regulus loves when his boyfriend reads for him anyway.
"Baby, wanna take a short nap?" James says, caressing his cheek when he notices that he has closed his eyes.
"Hm, you know if we sleep now, we won't be up again to keep studying." Regulus says as he sits up properly and stretches his arms.
"I'll stay awake, don't worry about that."
"But you are tired too."
"Maybe, but I know how important it is for you to keep studying even when you know almost all of the contents."
And oh, Regulus could cry at how seen he feels right now. Instead, he lets himself be manhandled to bed, leaving pecks in every part of James's body he can reach.
"I'm only going to sleep for 20 minutes, okay?" the younger man says, hiding his face in his boyfriend's chest.
"Okay, alarm set."
"And James."
"Yes?"
"I love you." he can feel James' breath hitch for a second.
"I love you too." he replies sincerely, holding him closer and Regulus smiles.
It's the first time they've said it and he probably should be freaking out right now, but he falls asleep easily.
In the end, he doesn't dream about the endocrine system, but about James whispering sweet nothings to him.
But it might not be a dream at all.

Wet Beast Wednesday: leatherback sea turtle
When most people think of big turtles they think of the giant tortoises of the Galapagos. Those may be the biggest land turtles., but in the water, life can get bigger. Much like how whales get bigger than any land mammal, the viscous and buoyant properties of water helping counteract gravity lets sea turtles get bigger than their land counterparts. This Wet Beast Wednesday I'm discussing the largest of all turtles, the mighty leatherback.
Tumblr media
(Image: a leatherback sea turtle swimming just below the ocean's surface. It is a very large turtle with ridges running down its shell and its front and hind legs modified into large, paddle-like flippers. It is dark gray all over, with white spots. End ID)
Leatherback sea turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) is not only the largest turtle, it's the heaviest of all living reptiles that aren't crocodilians. Adults average 1.8-2.2 m (6-7.2 ft) in length and 250-700 kg (550-1,540) lbs, with some variation in size based on region. Leatherbacks are the only living members of the family Dermochelyidae while the other 6 living species are all in the family Cheloniidae. This gives leatherbacks multiple anatomical differences from other sea turtles. One of these differences gives the leatherbacks their common names. Instead of a bony shell made of scutes, their shells are made of thick, oily and leathery skin that is embedded with small bony growths called osteoderms. The thick skin and osteoderms provide protection and allow pressure to distribute across the shell, making the shells highly resistant to being bitten trhough and highly resistant to cracking. Seven prominent ridges run down the length of the shell. The shape of the shell makes leatherbacks the most hydrodynamic of all sea turtles. The shell's shape and structure provides it with a high resistance to pressure, useful as leatherbacks dive deeper than any other sea turtle.
Tumblr media
(Image: a leatherback sea turtle seen from the front with its mouth open. The head has a beak instead of teeth and the interior of the mouth is fleshy and pink. End ID)
Leatherback sea turtles are powerful swimmers. Their powerful front flipper provide propulsion while the rear flippers are used for steering. The flippers can grow up to 2.7 m (8.9 ft) long, making them the largest of all sea turtles both in overall size and in relation to body size. Those flippers make the leatherback the fastest non-bird reptile, able to reach 35.3 km/h (21.9 mph), though they usually swim much slower. Of all the reptiles to be the fastest, I would never have guessed it would be a turtle. Leatherback beaks are fragile and not suited for biting through anything but soft-bodied animals, so they swallow most of their food whole. The throat is lined with backwards-facing spines that prevent prey from swimming back up the throat. While leatherbacks have scaly hides like other reptiles, they are the only reptile whose scales do not contain the structural protein beta-keratin.
Tumblr media
(Image: the mouth of a leatherback being held open to reveal the interior. It is pink and fleshy and lined with backwards-pointing spikes. End ID)
Unlike most (non-bird) reptiles, leatherbacks maintain a core body temperature higher than the surrounding environment. It was formerly believed that this endothermy was established through an increased metabolism, though more recent measurements have establised that leatherbacks do not have a metabolic rate much higher than would be expected for a turtle of their size. It is now thought that body heat is maintained through heavy muscle activity. Leatherbacks are almost always actively swimming and spend at little as 0.1% of their day resting. By constantly swimming, their muscles generate heat. This body heat is then retained through a countercurrent heat exchange system that warms blood before it reaches the core and a thick layer of fat, allowing leatherbacks to inhabit water much colder than any other sea turtle.
Tumblr media
(Image: a leatherback sea turtle on the beach, presumably a mother laying eggs. Multiple children are watching it and an adult is roping off the area around it to keep it safe. End ID)
Leatherback sea turtles are found worldwide and have the largest range of any turtle. Thanks to their high body heat, leatherbacks can live in waters as far north as Alaska and as far south as Aotearoa/New Zealand. Scientists have observed three genetically distinct populations, one in the Atlantic ocean and one each in the east and west Pacific Ocean. In addition, there are two other proposed populations, one in the Indian Ocean that is understudied and one in the South China Sea that is nearing extinction. They spend most of their lives in the open ocean, hunting prey. The primary prey of the leatherback sea turtle is jellyfish and they have to eat a lot of them to maintain their size. Other food sources include siphonophores, salps and pyrosomes, small fish, small crustaceans, and seagrass and seaweed. Leatherbacks play an important role in their environments by keeping jellyfish populations under control. Excessive jellyfish can overfeed on the plankton population, removing food sources for small animals and killing larval fish. A lot of jellyfish follow diel vertical migration; moving to deep water during the day and shallow water at night. Leatherbacks are adapted to follow their food and are among the deepest diving of all air-breathing marine animals, having been observed diving over 1,000 m (3281 ft) deep. Only sperm whales and beaked whales are known to dive deeper. Their high body temperature and shell structure allows leatherbacks to survive the frigid temperature and immense pressure of the deep sea. Dives can last up to 70 minutes, though most last from 3 - 8 minutes.
Tumblr media
(Image: a leatherback sea turtle underwater, aiming downwards. End ID)
Leatherbacks migrate vast distances between their cold feeding grounds and the warm, tropical waters where they mate. Females may release pheromones into the water to attract males. Once a male find a female, he will attempt to woo her through head and flipper movements, nuzzling, and biting. When the female accepts, the two mate while in the water and then depart. Females must haul out of the water and onto shore to lay their eggs. Like other sea turtles, they tend to return to the beach of their birth, though they may also choose nearby beaches. Their preferred beaches have soft sand and a low angle of entry that face deep water. They also prefer beaches that have forests or dunes on the edge. Females lay eggs at night to avoid predators and overheating, but they have poor night vision. Thus, they prefer the forests and dunes to give a clear distinction between the moonlit ocean and the darkness at the edge of the beach. That way they can find they way onto shore by following the shadows and back to sea by following the light. Eggs must be laid above the high tide line and are buried in the sand. Females will mate multiple times each mating season and can lay a new clutch of eggs for each mating. An average clutch has 110 eggs, half of which will hatch. Eggs hatch in 60-70 days and the temperature of the sand around them determines whether the young will develop into males or females. In addition, eggs laid in colder sand usually develop into larger and more robust juveniles. Eggs hatch in groups during night and the hatchlings will follow moonlight reflected off of the water to find the ocean. During the trip to the water, many hatchlings will be lost to predation by opportunistic land predators and seabirds. Those who reach the water have a chance at survival, but are still preyed upon by squid, large fish, and sharks. Only a very few hatchlings will live long enough to reach adulthood.
Tumblr media
(Image: a leatherback laying eggs. She has dug out a pit behind her and is releasing small, spherical, white eggs into it. End ID)
Leatherback sea turtles are classified as vulnerable to extinction by the IUCN, with some populations being more endangered than others. In particular, the east Pacific, west Pacific, southwest Indian, and southwest Atlantic subpopulations are listed as critically endangered, with the rest being either endangered or data deficient. Human activity is a major threat to the turtles. Leatherbacks can be caught as bycatch in nets or lines, leading to drowning and they are too large for some turtle safety mechanisms (like escape hatches on nets) to work. Pollution is also a major problem as floating plastic bags can be mistaken for jellyfish and swallowed. These bags can then obstruct the digestive system, ultimately killing the turtle. Another major problem is light pollution. Because hatchlings follow the brightest lights to reach the ocean, they can end up following artificial light instead of moonlight and end up moving away from the ocean instead of toward it. While adults are rarely caught for food, eggs are heavily harvested in southeast Asia and the Caribbean, where they are seen as delicacies or medicinal. It has been suggested that the population collapse in the South China Sea is largely due to overharvesting eggs for use in cuisine. Multiple countries around the world have given the turtles legal protection and local government and private agencies are aiding in turtle conservation through methods like helping juveniles reach the sea, artificial incubation of eggs, and raising awareness through ecotourism.

You know what, I managed to lose 3kg in a few days, but I picked up everything because I started eating a lot now I have twice my weight I don’t know what to do 💀
rapid weight loss: it feel rewarding in the moment, but it often leads to quick regain, and the cycle repeats itself. you know that yo-yo effect: lose weight in a few days, gain it back (and sometimes even more) just as quickly. it's frustrating, but it's not a surprise when your body is fighting to hold onto everything after you've been starving it.
that’s why: you need to be smarter. instead of crash dieting and then binging, i suggest a more controlled approach. lose weight a little slower, but stay in control. here’s what works for me: calculate your resting metabolic rate (rmr)—the total number of calories your body burns when you’re completely at rest (aka lying in bed doing nothing). think of it as your baseline; it’s the amount of calories your body needs just to keep you alive, so use that number as a guide. you eat just under that and exercise on top of it. this guarantees you stay in a calorie deficit, and as long as you're in a deficit, you’ll lose weight.
but here’s the catch: if you’re not careful, your body will cling to every calorie when you inevitably slip up. that’s why you need to stay disciplined and never let your guard down. sure, you want to see results now, not in six months.
always keep in mind: nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. keep a th1nspø journal with photos of girls who inspire you to keep going. remind yourself that hunger is your body's way of proving you're succeeding. when you're tempted, look in the mirror and ask yourself if that snack is worth delaying your progress. and cardio? non-negotiable. people also always say to avoid weights because it makes you “bulky” but that’s not true muscles actually help you look better and avoid skinny fat. its impossible to become super bulky from light weights and simple resistance training.
but remember: this all only works if you stay disciplined. once you quit, all of this will be for nothing, and you’ll hate yourself even more. don’t let that happen. a hungrier stomach means progress. embrace it.

I keep imagining some robotnik superior showing up unexpectedly in his lab and being like "🤨...Wait there are three mermai... *stone kills him*
I plan on writing a fic about this eventually, but I've been short on time lately 😭 Long story short, Robotnik moves Stone to an underwater lab he's been building to save him from being un-alived by the government, and at roughly the same time they find out Stone is pregnant. So fortunately the merfamily is totally safe! Here's a blurb from the WIP of that fic, since it probably won't be posted for a while:

The words echo off the lifeless conference room walls and rattle around unpleasantly in Robotnik’s brain. They are not words Robotnik wants to hear, and if he’s being honest, some time ago he’d forgotten that he’d ever have to hear them in the first place.
“Doctor?” Commander Walters offers Robotnik an appropriately concerned frown. “Did you hear me?”
Robotnik clears his throat, refocusing. “No, uh- no. I must have spaced out. Say that one more time for me.” He heard him loud and clear, of course, but he wants to pick through it one more time, see if there are any loopholes or contradictions he can take advantage of to be found in the words.
“Oh, sure… I understand, I’m sure you’ve been working around the clock lately.” Commander Walters says. “I said that if you’ve acquired all the data you can from the living specimen, it’s time to turn him over to the autopsy team. It’s still your project of course, so you can be as involved as you’d like to be going forward. But after six months of research, I think it’s safe to say we can–” here, Walters does that annoying rotating motion with both of his pointer fingers, “--wrap it up.”
Robotnik feels a little bit sick. Furious, mostly, but the sour heaviness in his guts is close to making him gag. Has it been six months already? Back then, this plan didn’t bother Robotnik in the slightest. When he first stormed into the biology lab to assert himself as the project leader, he didn’t care how injured and malnourished Stone was - Stone wasn’t Stone back then, he was the ‘specimen’. Robotnik hadn’t chewed out the pitiful scientists over their subpar treatment of Stone because he’d worried about Stone’s safety, it was because they’d compromised the scientific process. There was no sense in researching a living subject if that subject was too weak and sick to move, after all.
Obviously Robotnik’s opinion had changed rather quickly. He’d been told that the ‘merman’ wasn’t intelligent, wasn’t sentient. That he was mindless and violent. Fools. Almost as soon as Robotnik dismissed the rest of the team, it became apparent none of that was true. Stone quickly proved himself to be highly intelligent, learning ASL almost as fast as Robotnik once had. He was complex, loyal, and terribly interesting. He saw the world so differently than anyone Robotnik had ever met.
This is a very wordy way of saying that Robotnik fell in love, even if he hated framing it in such a simplistic, childish way.
Stone fell first, to be fair. He’d marked Robotnik, he claimed him, they were mates and now Robotnik is hearing another person say that Stone needs to be killed and torn open soon. It all seems so surreal.
“You can’t just put a time limit on science, Commander,” Robotnik says icily. “Six months is nothing. I haven’t even had ample time to study his metabolic rate yet, it’s vastly different from a humans–” “Six months was your estimation, not mine,” Walters counters. “When you took over the project, that was your projected timeframe.”
Robotnik inwardly kicks himself. He originally gave himself six months to ensure he had a comfortable cushion of time, but he’d been positive four months is all it would take to collect all the necessary data before passing Stone off to another team.
“Well if it hadn’t taken two months for the creature to fully recover from what those amateurs did to it before I arrived, I would have been done by now!” Robotnik growls. It hadn’t taken two months for Stone to recover, but it seemed a believable amount of time to a person who isn’t personally familiar with how quickly merpeople heal. “Why do you think I’ve been ‘working around the clock’, Commander? Making up for lost time!”
Walters frowns in consideration, rubbing a knuckle thoughtfully against his stubbly chin. “Ah yes, I remember reading about that in your initial reports. I hadn’t considered how much that may have set you back. In that case, I’ll give you another two months to finish your research, Doctor. Does that sound fair?”
It takes Robotnik less than a second to run the numbers, the estimations and impromptu simulations - yes, he could certainly finish his work in two months. Not the work Walters was expecting him to finish, obviously. Something much, much more important. “Two months sounds more than fair, Commander.”

Natsu Headcanons:
Genderfluid Dragongender Aro Bisexual, He/Any pronouns
5'8", well muscled, he's got some fat padding, but overall not a lot. He has a fast metabolism rate (largely in-part due to how fast he has to consume and digest fire), causing him to not gain a lot of weight.
Mixed, he's half Japanese half Māori. He takes after his mom in all but hair color.
He has ADHD and Autism. Look at him.
Left with some serious burn scars on his arm after Alvarez, along with a lot of scales. His dexterity in that hand isn't the best anymore but Wendy healed it as much as she could.
Best sense of smell out of all the dragon slayers, he is comparable to a bloodhound.
Due to being a dragon slayer he has red scales lining his cheekbones and the top ridge of his pointed ears. He has larger canine teeth than average. His tongue is also slightly forked on the end. Later in life (around 30s) he has scales on the back of his hands and tops of his feet.
After unlocking Dragon Force, one of his coal black eyes lit like it had been placed in flames, and now it is the color of fire.
Lucy is his life partner, and he would do literally anything for her. It's unsure if that partnership is romantic, queerplatonic, or what, but it's still a partnership.
He is an extremely tactile person and struggles with the concept of personal space especially when he likes someone. Lucy has lectured him about it before. He's... Working on it.
He has a tā moko band right below his guild mark, he got it from Gajeel and it represents the connection between the time periods that he and the rest of the dragon slayers are from.
He fucking loves having stuff in his mouth. In a modern AU he would probably constantly carry his phone in his mouth and have a chewing stim.
Differences in his gender from day to day/moment to moment are mostly internal and he rarely expresses verbally, but sometimes if it's relevant to the conversation he'll state it.
He has texture issues regarding sleeves he doesn't like them most of the time.
He thinks sex is just something fun to do, nothing too serious. Because of this he's been known to have casual sex with his friends.

The Massive Benefits of Morning Aerobic Exercise
A Focus on Hiking
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Abstract
Aerobic exercises, such as hiking, provide a multitude of health benefits that contribute to overall well-being. This article explores the physiological, psychological, and social advantages of engaging in morning aerobic activities, with a specific focus on hiking. Through a review of current scientific literature, the benefits are detailed, illustrating how this form of exercise can enhance physical health, mental clarity, and social connections.
Introduction
Aerobic exercises, characterized by sustained and rhythmic physical activity, play a crucial role in maintaining and improving health. Hiking, a popular form of aerobic exercise, combines the benefits of physical activity with the enjoyment of nature. Morning exercise, in particular, has been shown to yield unique benefits due to its alignment with the body's natural rhythms and the environment's characteristics at this time.
Physiological Benefits
1. Cardiovascular Health
Aerobic exercises such as hiking are known to improve cardiovascular health. Regular participation in hiking can lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, and enhance heart function. Studies have shown that consistent aerobic exercise reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke by improving the efficiency of the cardiovascular system.
2. Weight Management
Engaging in aerobic exercise in the morning can kickstart metabolism, aiding in weight management and fat loss. Morning exercise increases the resting metabolic rate, allowing the body to burn calories more efficiently throughout the day. This is particularly beneficial for individuals aiming to maintain or reduce their body weight.
3. Musculoskeletal Health
Hiking strengthens muscles, improves joint health, and increases bone density. The varied terrain encountered during a hike engages different muscle groups, enhancing overall muscular strength and flexibility. Additionally, weight-bearing exercises like hiking are essential for maintaining bone health and preventing osteoporosis.
4. Enhanced Immune Function
Regular aerobic exercise has been linked to a stronger immune system. Morning hiking can boost the body's immune response, making it more effective at warding off illnesses and infections. This effect is partly due to the increase in circulation and the body's ability to mobilize immune cells during physical activity.
Psychological Benefits
1. Mental Clarity and Cognitive Function
Morning exercise has been associated with improved cognitive function and mental clarity. Engaging in aerobic activities like hiking increases blood flow to the brain, promoting the growth of new neural connections and improving memory and concentration. This can lead to enhanced productivity and cognitive performance throughout the day.
2. Stress Reduction and Mood Enhancement
Aerobic exercise stimulates the release of endorphins, known as the body's natural mood lifters. Hiking in the morning, in particular, can reduce stress levels and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. The combination of physical activity and exposure to natural environments has a synergistic effect on improving mood and overall mental health.
Social Benefits
1. Social Interaction and Community Engagement
Hiking can be a social activity that fosters interaction and connection with others. Morning hikes with friends, family, or local hiking groups provide opportunities for socialization, which is essential for mental and emotional well-being. Building a sense of community through shared activities can enhance feelings of belonging and support.
2. Connection with Nature
Hiking offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, which has been shown to have numerous psychological benefits. Exposure to natural environments reduces stress, improves mood, and enhances overall well-being. Morning hikes allow individuals to experience the tranquility and beauty of nature, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Conclusion
Morning aerobic exercises such as hiking offer a comprehensive range of benefits that contribute to physical, mental, and social health. By incorporating regular morning hikes into one's routine, individuals can experience improved cardiovascular health, weight management, enhanced cognitive function, reduced stress, better sleep quality, and stronger social connections. As research continues to uncover the profound impact of aerobic exercise, it becomes increasingly clear that activities like hiking are essential for a healthy and fulfilling life.

So if the body needs 45-65% of calories in carbs to be functional, does that mean low-carb-diet that brings people to the lower end of that range (45%) is inherently the most legitimate diet?
The most legitimate diet is one that makes you feel satisfied, does not make you sick, and meets your nutritional needs.
Beyond that, no. There is no "most legitimate diet."
The concept of "a diet" is honestly kind of flawed, depending on how you define "diet." And if you are defining "diet" as "a means of eating that will guarantee and maintain weight loss" then yeah the idea is flawed from jump.
Your metabolism is the sum total of all the chemical reactions in your body. Your diet is all of the foods and liquids that you consume.
Different people have different caloric needs and different metabolisms; eating in different ways can change your metabolism, as can exercising in different ways.
There is no universally correct way to eat. There is also no universally correct way to exercise.
If you are looking for ways to improve your diet, here are the very few things that are applicable to a lot (perhaps the majority) of people:
You probably need to eat more fruits and vegetables
You almost certainly do not need to worry about getting enough protein
You should do an activity that raises your heart rate to aerobic levels for 150 minutes a week
However, setting that aside: getting 45% of your diet from carbohydrates is not considered a low-carb diet. There are a lot of ways to define "low carb" but two of the more general ones are "30% or less of your daily caloric intake is carbohydrates" and "100 or fewer grams of carbs per day."
The Atkins diet, a very popular low-carb diet calls for 100 or fewer grams of carbs per day. If we're going by the 2000 calorie RDA (which is flawed but a common baseline way of doing the math on these things) that means that 20% of an Atkins dieter's calories would come from carbohydrates.
The Keto diet calls for 50 or fewer grams of carbs per day. So 10% of calories from carbs.
You will recognize these as far below the recommended minimum for the average person.
Low-carb diets are also not especially effective for weight loss or improving metabolic health in the long term.
There are some people who eat low-carb diets who feel great with that mix of nutrients. There are some people who are on medically necessary low-carb diets (and there are people on medically necessary low-fat and low-protein diets!)
In our current culture, when people talk about "diets" they are not talking about all of their food and liquid intake and how it relates to their metabolic function, they are talking about dieting, or "going on a diet."
Dieting is not an effective way to lose weight and maintain weight loss in the long term (we do not know of a generalizable way for most people to lose weight and maintain a weight loss in the long term!) and is more likely to cause weight gain rather than weight loss 2-5 years after the start of the diet. Dieting is not by itself an effective way to improve metabolic health in the long term, and may actually significantly damage metabolic health depending on how restrictive the diet was and how long it continued. (Also: just to be clear, it is much more effective to focus on improving things like resting heart rate, fasting blood sugar, lipid levels, and vitamin deficiencies for better health outcomes than it is to focus on losing weight.)
Looking for the best/most legitimate diet so that you can start eating that diet is very unlikely to net you positive results for your health. Dieting is not effective.
A better way to approach the issue of your diet is to think about what changes you can make in your eating and exercise habits that will help you to feel good, make you feel full, maintain your health, and maintain muscle strength, cardiovascular health, and flexibility.
Don't go out looking for the "most legitimate diet," see if you can add some more fresh fruit to your diet. See if you can make sure you're getting enough fiber. See if you can eat at least one whole serving of vegetables with each meal.
When people talk about things like low-carb diets or diets with no refined sugar or paleo diets or low-fat diets they are asking "What are the bad foods? What should I never eat? What food should I never buy again? What is the food that will make me better if I stop eating it? What can I cut out? What are the bad things that I can avoid?"
Unless you have a medical restriction from a particular food, I don't think that it's good to think of your diet and how you eat in terms of rigid rules and I definitely don't think it's good to approach your diet asking what you can take away from yourself. I think you should ask what you can add to your diet that will improve your overall health.

This is kind of odd and very specific but idea:
Desmond in either Ezio or Altaïrs time (and I know which one you have a bias towards) and he’s just a normal guy except he’s moving at x2 speed. He can’t turn it off. The whole everything for him is just at x2 speed (as in he’s faster). And it’s not like super speed where he can still talk and stuff at normal speed, EVERYTHING is x2 speed.
I was thinking how this would impact Desmond because the entire world would look like it’s 2x slower than him. And how would it even look like if he talks? Like his entire face is moving normally while the rest of his body is faster? XD
Desmond would probably be grabbed by Altaïr or Ezio (and yeah, we all know who I would pick) and they’d be like “Stay still, Desmond.”
The only way to have a conversation with Desmond without being distracted by his… everything… is when he stays still.
But if he sees the world slower, doesn’t that mean he hears everything slower as well?
That sounds like the kind of nightmare we will ‘give’ him affectionately, to be perfectly honest.
In combat, he’d definitely be the best and even during missions.
But conversation-wise, it’ll take a lot of time getting used to.
Unless…
His ancestor is the one to adapt to his needs and starts to speak faster.
It makes it harder for the two of them to be understood by others but this is the best way for Desmond to understand him and he’s willing to make such adjustment to make Desmond feel normal.
Also…
Does this mean that Desmond’s metabolic rate and sleeping habits are sped up as well?
Does this mean Desmond would burn through what he’d eaten faster and he would need to eat more frequently?
Does this mean that Desmond’s sleeping pattern is shorter but more frequently?
Because what is part of the ‘stuff’ portion of the ‘he can still talk and stuff at normal speed’?
His body moves x2 speed.
Doesn’t this mean that his body, in general, is aging faster???
