It seems like weither you want it or not, everyone has an idea in mind of "what a woman looks like" and "what a man looks like". Society put this in your head since childhood after all.

I wanted to do a little experiment and observe how my own mind works regarding that?

So I tried to look at different people. Cis or trans it doesn't matter. Just look at that person and think "that's a man". Right? Just do that for a while. And it seemed obvious to me. I *perceived* that person as a man. It was obvious in their physical appearance, behavior, everything.

Then I looked at the exact same person and thought really hard instead "that's a woman". And after only a little while, it was like a switch was activated, and my brain was noticing far more "feminine" traits than masculine ones, and- Wait, my perception of that person completely changed- Now it's obvious they're a woman, with their physical appearance and behavior-

It's... Really fascinating ngl. I was mostly observing my own brain's reaction but it was really interesting. Like, you can do that with anyone really. Cis or trans. Look at someone in real life, or a random pic or video online, it doesn't matter. Just... It's insane how my perception of the person could change whether I thought "it's a woman" or "it's a man" really hard.

So I think that what may be happening with all these people convinced they "just can tell" while proving again and again they, in fact, can't.

Gender stereotypes are just so ingrained in brains they can convince themselves of things like that. And internalized gender stereotypes just make you see the person completely differently. It was a fascinating self observation ngl

I really love the concept of Tim hiding in small spaces randomly, and his family just completely accepting this as normal behavior.

Like,

Dick, mid conversation with Wally, grabs a cookie from his plate and reaches behind the couch, sticking his arm down there and pulls it up with no cookie. He doesn't falter once in his conversation.

Wally blinks in confusion a few times and then carefully asks, "Did you just... put a cookie behind the couch?"

Dick blinks as well. "Tim is behind there." He said like that should be obvious.

"What?! Dude, has he been listening to our conversation??"

"Nah, he's got his headphones on." Dick says dismissively.

Tim reaches his hand up and taps Dick on the shoulder to get his attention and then mimes writing. Dick hands him a pen.

"This happens all the time, doesn't it?" Wally asked, amused.

Dick snorts and nods. "Are you really surprised? I mean, I hang upside down when i need to think, Damian cuts things, Jason shoots things, Bruce broods. Tim hides."

Wally laughs. "Fair enough, man."

Or,

Mid Justice League meeting, Bruce looks under the desk he's at, grunts and motions to the side of his head. Then, he grumbles "Notepad." A second passes, he straightens up and starts scribbling something onto a notepad.

"What the hell just happened?" Hal asks bluntly.

"Red Robin is under there." Clark says immediately, used to this whole thing.

"Okay... Is there, like, a reason for that?"

Bruce grunts, and Clark says, "He likes it under there."

"Ooookkaayyyy then."

no you know what you guys are right. reverse league son reveal. Jason comes back to Gotham and does his crime lord thing before tentatively starting a truce and returning to the batfam and one day Dick asks who Bruce’s favourite child is.

Bruce: i love all three of my sons equally.

Jason, without thinking: three? what about Damian?

I think it'd be funny if Damian kept up his formal speech patterns for the sole purpose of appearance. Originally, he would've learned to speak that way in the League, but I feel like Jason's informality and unseriousness would rub off on him eventually.

Alfred is gone for the week and Bruce is cooking for the bats

Bruce: "Alright guys, it's a little burnt, but it still might be good."

Tim, squinting his eyes at the plate: "B, it looks radioactive.."

Damian: "Father, I will not be consuming this horrible dish. It seems itself to be inedible, and I will not be poisoned by your lack of skill in the food department."

Later

Damian, on the phone with Jason: "It looked like shit! He served us all mystery meat, Todd. Bring me some decent food right now or I'm killing myself."

Jason: "Jeez, kid, take a chill pill or something. I'm on my way."

Damian: "There is no pill chill enough for me to take, Todd! I can't keep starving myself whenever Dad is put in charge. He's going to kill us all on accident!"

hey this might be insane but in light of everything thats happening on tumblr, tt, insta, pinterest, etc etc etc. what if, i know this sounds crazy- we let people enjoy their craft, enjoy their fandoms, their hcs and enjoy the media they consume??? Crazy opinion but what if we stopped being so damn hateful 24/7 and just let people have fun, have some joy and whimsy in their life?!?!?!? This isnt just about epic the musical, this is ALSO about hades (game), its about TSOA, its about Creepypasta, its about SIG games, its about Arcane, its about every fucking fandom im in and i am SICK OF IT. it is also an issue in literally EVERY SINGLE FANDOM RIGHT NOW?? ya'll are creating such a TOXIC and HATEFUL environment on every single internet platform in every single fandom. You cannot enjoy a single damn thing without people being all up in your face as if their opinion is any more superior than yours? I can't even scroll through my favourite ship tags anymore because HALF OF THE POSTS ARE ALL "ship discourse" "ship wars" "why i hate this ship" "if you like this ship you should die" etc etc and the ship is nothing bad or controversial??? I cant even search for my favourite fandom because half the searches are all: "why this thing is so bad and i hate it and if you like it i hate you becAuse you're a horrible human being for liking this thing" Ya'll are creating a space that no one wants to interact with, people are leaving fandoms they once enjoyed because you are going out of your way to hate on people for -- what?? liking a ship (canon or not)??, drawing fanart???, creating headcanons?????? ya'll do realise theres nothing bad about having fun? enjoying media? others expressing themselves in a positive and healthy way? I don't post 90% of the stuff i draw and write about becuase i am scared of being SLAMMED for interpreting stuff how i want to, i am actually terrified.
