cw: mentions of smut, detailed smut descriptions, angst, heartbreak, infidelity, reader deserves better
you and rafe had met at a bar. the august air was humid, everything just cooling down for what you presumed would just be another winter spent with prying family and fake friends.
everyone had met a weekend before the school year at brown had started. you knew for sure half of them did not earn or work for their place in this uni, but you played along- you really did like most of them.
you remember locking eyes for the first time as everyone sat down to drink overly expensive beer. he was ridiculously beautiful in a way that every single feature of his seemed to have been sculpted by some higher power.
he had offered you a courteous smile, polite yet intrigued. it didn’t take long for you and him to connect snugly into the group, and with eachother.
it took about a week into the school year for you both to give up on the whole take it slow act. he was so eager, having had grown so fond of you already. he had kissed down you like you were something to be treated with care- and then fucked you like he had been waiting his whole life.
when you two went official, you had expected nothing less than the occasional jealous girl trying to sabotage you both, but you hadn’t expected quite as many.
girls would tell you all the time, unintentionally quoting eachother, “i promise you, he’s a player, like… seriously, that man doesn’t love anything.” they would all warn in unison.
you figured it was different with you, because it was.
he couldn’t possibly just hand out that kind of vulnerability and care to anyone. there was no way he looked at other women the way he looked at you.
he would be soft and gentle with you if you wanted, he would shamelessly flirt with you in public, he would tell you just how serious he was about you, even when you were both so young.
he told you he loved you everyday. until he couldn’t.
it was about eight months in, early march- when you noticed it.
the way he would turn his phone away whenever you were around, in a way that at the start, could be seen as innocent. he’d leave you on delivered for entire school days, pretending to just be busy with work.
with many more similar ‘incidents’ following, you caught on. you had always been an overthinker, and your heart was racing everytime he’d kiss you goodbye to hang around his ‘new friends.’
it had happened. rafe cameron had grown tired of you. bored of you. just like you were warned.
it had destroyed you. broken your heart before you had even heard the full truth.
you remember exactly where you were when they confirmed everything.
kiara had facetimed you late one night, around half an hour after you’d left the party- she always liked to stay later.
you thought she would just need a lift home, almost jumping for your car keys when she called.
“hey what’s up?” you mumbled, forehead only visible on screen, halfway through a slice of pizza. kiara looked more worried than she ever had on her numerous nights out wasted- and that’s when you knew something was wrong.
“kiara… are you okay??” you swallow in your throat. “uh no yeah, i just.. something happened, with…” she speaks apprehensively.
your first thought was of him.
you felt your stomach sink, you had been having nightmares about this moment for like a fortnight due to his behaviour, were they really about to come true? kiara wouldn’t act like this about anything else.
“with.. who?” but it was no use, the air had already left your lungs and your voice came out weak.
“look… rafe- and i-i know how much you love him but i overheard another girl talking about how she’d…..”
everything went quiet, the ringing in your ears taking over. you weren’t even listening anymore, only subconsciously. enough to catch on to her point.
she had overheard some random woman at a bar. talking about how she’d hooked up with rafe this time last week, and he wanted to see her again. rafe. your rafe.
the same rafe that had cried in your arm about his horrible dad.
the same rafe that told you everytime he was inside you that you were made for him.
the same rafe who had been fucking cheating on you.
you were humiliated. angry- the strong emotion taking over the sadness that had already been plaguing you for the past two weeks.
you hung up the phone with a quick ‘thank you’ and changed everything.
you immediately blocked his number, removed him on every single platform and changed your locks.
he didn’t try to reach out anyways. not once. not in real life. not through another phone. you couldn’t wrap your head around it. you didn’t.
how was this the same rafe?
you spent the next two months rebuilding your life, taking back everything you had so generously dedicated to him, getting rid of all his old sweatshirts in the most cliche way possible, burning them.
you had dyed your hair, gone on some spiritual detox, tried everything. two months in and you still couldn’t get away.
rafes presence still lingered like a bad smell, your nose occasionally picking up scents from his cologne that you knew weren’t really there.
you had avoided him and everyone at all cost- rafe still being out when you found out gave you opportunity to just ghost, figuring it would help more than having him gaslight and shamelessly deny your accusations.
the two of you hadn’t spoken since he’d kissed you goodbye and promised to see you when he got home.
i mean he practically lived in your apartment, not far down from the university- his second home, where he slept most nights despite having his own bigger place to stay.
the earth had tilted off its axis and you were trying desperately to fix it- to no avail.
he was still here, still everywhere. he was there when you took showers and felt his phantom fingers curve around your waist, he was there when you folded the laundry he used to do for you, he was there when you’d fall asleep alone every night in a bed that used to harbour the two of you. yet he was nowhere to be seen.
you had hung out a few times with your girlfriends, but they still didn’t see you nearly as much as they used to.
you felt desperate and pathetic everytime you avoided big group hangouts just incase he’d be there. it was nothing like you, he had changed you forever.
that was until, your phone had lit up with streams of messages from a group chat you didn’t recognise.
“caribbean 2025!!🏝️🏝️”
huh??
the group chat pinged with alerts.
sarah💝💝: surpriseee
sarah💝💝: i can send you all the hotel numbers! the bahamas…
oh jesus. you remember the day in december when you had all gotten wasted and joked around about holidays together on a tropical island- and sarah had picked the worst time to take the plans out of the group chat.
kiara: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SERIOUS
sarah💝💝: YES my dad wants me and rafe out his hair for the holidays soooo
your stomach flutter uncomfortably. you had expected it from the second she had announced the trip, but hearing it still hurt. you would have to see him.
sarah💝💝: he funded the trip!!!!!
sarah, she was rafes sister, far too sweet for her own good and filthy rich, she had always been kind to you- especially after you and him and broken up.
she didn’t chastise you once for not listening to her polite warning about him. you figured she was used to it.
jayj: ur kidding..
sarah💝💝: nopeee
john booker: i love your dad so much omfg
sarah💝💝: it’s three weeks from todayy
replying to ‘surpriseee’
cleor: we love u sarah!!!!!
cara: i’m so excited
pope🛐: is now a good time to start packing??
jesse!!: probably not..
44 7786 3801 (maybe: sofia): so excited!! ily!
sarah💝💝: 😇
you decide that, no, this is good for you. it was inevitable that you would run into him somewhere- plus, it’s not like you’d see him all the time..
you: how long is the stay!! i can go❤️
cara: finally going somewhere..😒
you: kys
replying to ‘how long is the stay!! i can go❤️’
blocked number: a fortnight
wow. this was going to be a long few weeks.
when the day finally came- after three weeks of endless shopping trips, a panic attack or two and a large suitcase, you were ready.
sarah had forwarded you the flight details and you had sent everything in a car to the airport already.
you were halfway out the door, clutching sunglasses a half eaten apple by the time she called.
your screen lit up with ‘sarah💝💝’ and you figured she was calling you to check in and see when you’d be getting there.
you dropped the apple on your kitchen counter and padded your thumb over the accept button, your phone now in your free hand.
“hey girl, i’m just leaving sorry, am i late?”
you hear shuffling in the background. “uhhh no you’re not late buttt…”
you freeze. what could possibly have gone wrong this time?
“my dad is like old as fuck right, and he accidentally booked your flight 12 hours before everyone else, or maybe it was cos there was no seats, well you and someone else but like, no, i just checked over everyone’s and you and someone are leaving like before everyone else.”
to be fair your luck already couldn’t get worse and you were expecting something like a cancellation.
“ohh shit. no that’s fine tho, it’s still the same hotel?” you open your door and start to make your way to your car from the stairs.
“yep, same hotel. can you text me once you get there?” you shove you sunglasses over your tank top to hold the phone with both hands, hoping to be able hear better over the bustling streets of rhode island. “cos i need to find out who i sent the flight right now to, i sent them randomly, cos, like, i thought they were all the same.”
“sure yeah i’ll talk to you later!” you blurt, turning the corner to the car park.
the drive to airport wasn’t too far and getting there set everything in stone, easing your worries. you’re fine. you’re going to have an amazing two weeks in the bahamas for god sakes, and rafe cameron is not going to bother you.
you’re sitting on the dirty silver seats waiting to board when you get sarah’s follow up text.
sarah💝💝: did you make it there fine?
you: yess just waiting to board
you: do u kno who the other person with me is? are they here yet???
you wait for her reply, eyes darting around the numerous rows of chairs for someone that you recognise.
there were only 10 of sarah’s closest friends going with her, what are the chances it would be-
your phone pings.
sarah💝💝: rafe
is she serious??
sarah💝💝: i am actually so so sorry about this i promise it wasn’t some kind of weird intervention thing
ugh. god.
no.
no.
it’s fine. you won’t let him deter you from another good thing, you’ll simply avoid at all costs, and when everyone else arrives, you’ll have plenty of fun with them.
you: it’s fine sare
you: i’ll see you guys when yall get here
sarah💝💝: sorry again about him🙄 he’s such an asshole
asshole is an understatement.
you: i’m kind of just planning on ignoring it…
sarah💝💝: ITTT😭😭😭
you put your phone back in your bag with a chuckle- that still manages to come out cold, and make your way to board, your excited expression, even if forced, remaining prominent.
once you make your way onto the plane you sit comfortably in first class and silently thank ward camerons old ass for not sitting you next to rafe, who you still haven’t seen. you question for a second if he even is on this flight.
you’ve never been a big fan of flying, already on edge and the turbulence disturbs whatever sleep you try to fit in.
all your sadness over your ex-boyfriend had melted into anger over the two months you had spent apart, having already mourned him near the end of your relationship.
or atleast, that’s what you tell yourself.
when you arrive at lyndon international airport and touch down, you pad over to exit and wait outside for your car.
when the driver arrives and tells you that he’s waiting on your partner aswell, you almost have the nerve to tell him to just drive away.
you stand against the car, waiting for the one man you never wanted to see again.
it’s hot outside and your lack of proper clothing doesn’t stop the scorching heat from breaking you out in sweats. you take a second from fanning yourself off to really look at the scenery around you. the island is unbelievably nice.
everything builds up the perfect atmosphere together. the palm trees swaying in the warm breeze, the pleasant colours still visible through your sunglasses, the bustling tourists, the unbelievably bright sun, rafe cameron walking toward you in the shorts you bought for him.
you had gone through practically every stage of grief with that man, but nothing was as cruel and heart wrenching as the smirk painted on his face as he strides over to the car.
you couldn’t believe it. every emotion you had pushed down into the deepest parts of you come rising up.
you are sad. you realise. still heartbroken. you had never moved on, just deflected, you realise.
maybe he hasn’t seen you? maybe he-
no, he has.
you had expected him to look a little sad, maybe upset. even some kind of apologetic tight smile- but no, he’s smirking at you like he didn’t absolutely destroy you.
it takes a second for you to regain composure, surprised at how easy it is to act unaffected. you wordlessly climb into the car before he can come face to face with you, hoping he didn’t catch your eye contact through your sunglasses.
after a minute, he’s walked around the car and is sitting almost shoulder to shoulder with you in the backseat. heat incomparable to the temperature outside radiates off of him and you wish you had the willpower to not ogle him.
he looks almost as different as you do. he had cut off the hair that you used to grab onto subconsciously every night in your sleep, leaving him with a buzz. his features had further hardened and instead of looking like the boy that had used to cling to you like it was second nature, he looks like a man that you no longer recognise.
he looks so annoyingly beautiful in a way that makes you want to jump out of the car mid drive and walk alone to the resort.
you couldn’t understand how he could ever be so cold after everything that had happened between you two, if you weren’t already told that none of it had really meant anything to him.
your body is angled as far away from his as possible and you keep you face glued to outside the window as the ride continues. he doesn’t speak, but he looks completely relaxed. casual. you want to fucking throttle him.
the ride to the hotel is actually shorter than the one to the airport, yet drags out a million times more due to the walking ball of nostalgic lies sitting next to you.
once you arrive, you thank the driver and continue to refuse rafe a second of your attention. you walk to the check in and give the lady the cameron last name.
“and you two are together?” the woman at the front questions. “same booking, but we’d like separate rooms, there should be five booked.” you thought not acknowledging him would make you feel powerful. you only feel lonely.
“ohh, same booking, i’m afraid we cannot do that then.” excuse me. “uh, what- what do you mean?” you ask hastily. “well, if it’s only the two of you for now- you’ll have to share, we won’t use up spare rooms if we don’t need to, you are also early. we only have one room that is both clean and free of current guests.”
you scramble for an solution to her dilemma, you won’t be caught dead sharing a room with that man. “uh, you know i don’t mind waiting- i wasn’t planning on hanging around here anyways.”
you take it back. you’re going to kill sarah.
“mrs cameron. we have no room for adjustments, and only one key available.” your cheeks flush at the the miss-naming, mostly from embarrassment. you had dreamed that one day you’d be called that. you were actually stupid enough to think that he would ever do such a thing. and now you’re next to him trying to shift a reservation to take away his involvement because you can’t even stand to be around him.
you watch rafe rub the back of his skull from the corner of your eye, slightly awkwardly. wow, that must be the first non-mocking expression he’s given since his arrival.
“uh, are you sure?” he offers, like you haven’t already been haggling with the front desk right infront of him, his voice gruff and low- taking you back.
“yes, you can wait for your friends or family to get here, but for the time being..” she gestures vaguely at the key she had placed infront of the both of you.
your mouth opens and shuts, seriously considering arguing your case, maybe if you tell her about the situation with rafe, she’ll understand, girls support girls right??
before you can form a full sentence in response, rafe swiftly takes the keychain and begins to make his way to the lift, leaving you behind. he spares a glance your way, expression now back to neutral, and stutters slightly, like unsure what to do, when he turns to find you still in your spot.
he must decide that it’s not worth staying, because he faces the elevator once again and prepares to get in.
you huff in annoyance and reluctantly follow along, not wanting to take the stairs in this weather.
the lift ride to the fifth floor is awkward and silent, for you atleast, as expected.
the room however, is much nicer. you knew the hotel was expensive, but to honest you weren’t exactly expecting luxury and you’re now feeling slightly bad that you haven’t payed for this.
and then you remember that’s it’s all coming out of ward camerons bank account, and suddenly you’re okay again. you had heard horror stories about that man, from rafe and sarah.
there are two rooms on each floor, taking up the entire space. you and rafe are in stay number nine, with a view toward the beach.
there’s a kitchen with an island as you walk in, everything glossed over and marble, it’s an open floor and you’re sure you can see every corner of the room from any angle. so much for privacy.
there’s a full living room with two couches and a coffee table facing opposite. jesus. the beds are at the far corner, and you physically sigh at the fact that they might aswell be closer together than anything else in the place.
all this and the only thing you can think of is still him. how can you physically stand to be around him. maybe even speak to him. god, you felt so pitiful.
rafe is skimming one of his big hands over the kitchen island that greets him when he walks in, and you wish like everything that you didn’t know how they felt bringing you to orgasm.
fuck. get it together.
you quickly make your way over to the beds, claiming the one sitting closest to the window. there’s only a small gap in between the two and you pray the distance will suffice.
your bags would probably be brought up soon enough, but for now you simply sit a pair your pair of sunglasses on the sheets of the bed you had claimed, preparing to go shower off your humiliation before you visit the beach.
“hey,” someone speaks from a distance. you’re confused for a second because it isn’t rafe, it wouldn’t be?
when you turn around to follow the noise and find nothing other than an expressionless face belonging to rafe himself, you find that, it is indeed him.
“so, how have you been?” he offers. it’s all he offers.
“how have i been?” you repeat back to him, confused and mocking, like he’ll suddenly snap out of it and take the words back himself.
“yeah,” he remains completely uncaring. “jesus, ‘was just askin.”
great. small talk and gaslighting, all in one. truly a skill that only rafe cameron possesses.
you decide that, instead of reacting like you ache to- to scream, to accuse, to shout, that you will simply return energy. he’s not worth your time. fake it till you make it.
“no i know. im fine,” trying to keep your voice from shaking.
he’s visibly puzzled for a second, expecting some sort of reaction, before he decides that he just doesn’t care. he reaches to put his backpack on the unclaimed bed, seemingly also waiting for his luggage- and exits the bedroom into the sitting one.
you decide that now is a good time to rest, finally start the relaxing holiday you’ve been hoping for.
after a good five minutes laying down in your twin sized bed collecting your thoughts, you hear your luggage arrive from outside the door.
upset at your thoughts being disrupted but also equally happy that you can unpack- you hop up to grab your suitcases.
it doesn’t take long for you to get ready in the bathroom and prepare to leave at the pace you’re going at, no regard for anything except starting your holiday.
“where are you going?” rafe startles you, turning from the door to find him in his bathing suit and sunglasses. “out,” you return, almost coldly- staying returning energy.
“gimme a minute, i need to pack a bag,” when you work out what he’s getting at, you all but scoff at him, amused that he thinks for a second you’re going to be hanging out with him for the next twelve hours you’ll spend alone together.
“i’m not going anywhere with you??” you mock confusion and disgust in hopes of hurting him; however, he’s undeterred, clearly not caring what you think. “i need to stay with you, sarah doesn’t want you walking a country you don’t know anything about alone.”
“i’m fine, they all speak english,” you wish he would not pretend to give a shit and just say it like it is.
“where you going?” he changes subject.
“the beach,” you reply hastily.
“cool. same,” he’s packing sun cream on the kitchen island now.
oh my god he can be so fucking infuriating, something you used to love about him, that now only leaves you feeling empty. he used to do things like this out of requited love, now he only does them because his sister will kill him if he doesn’t.
you huff, having had enough. “goodbye,” you turn around as he finishes zipping up his backpack and slam the door shut, figuring if he has to be there, he’ll be walking atleast five feet behind you.
you shuffle around the island of bustling tourists and loud noises before making to the main beach, rafe having no problem trailing close- but not too close behind you.
the water is practically a see through turquoise colour at the spot of cave you find around the beaches side.
you lay your towel down and prepare to bask for a few hours.
rafe- who arrives seconds after you, pops his bag down and lies his own towel annoying close to yours.
you sunbathe with a book for around an hour with surprisingly zero interruptions besides rafes occasional shuffling, probably not enjoying himself, before growing bored and heading for one of the deeper, closed off pools at the side of the cave.
you abruptly stand, shaking off remnants of sand as you start your walk.
you can feel rafes eyes on you, and you only hope he won’t disturb your peace when you leave his line of vision- surely he doesn’t care that much?
once you’ve settled in, you lie on your back and float around the current-less pool, looking up to the sky as if some higher power could give you answers.
what are you doing here?
how did this happen?
why did this happen to you?
you find yourself groaning out loud at the turn your life has taken since rafe walked into- and evidently out of it, you really had swerved 180° into some parallel universe.
you rub your eyes with the palms of your hands, willing a time machine to fix the mistakes you had made. meeting rafe. the mistakes he had made. ruining everything.
you try not to fall back into the whole spiral of ‘how long was he cheating?’ or, ‘did he ever actually care?’ but it’s pointless. so many things left unanswered, so many times you had been ridiculed and lied to and-
a splash of water ripples around the pool and you think for a second the tide has risen so high the ocean has gotten in, not that that was any worse that the reality.
rafe. again.
you open your eyes and lift your upper body from its downward position, the water reaching just past your navel.
“it’s nice here,” he speaks bluntly at the large secluded area you had found to be alone in.
he slowly continues the makeshift stairs of rock and submerges himself in the water, still at the opposite side from you.
he leans down and sits on one of the rocks underwater, manspreading once again and leaning against the pools walls.
“what are you doing here?” you’re tired of this, it’s only playing with your feelings more, and ruining your plans of separation.
“can i not sit with you?” and there’s a faint hint of a smirk written on his face that has your blood boiling.
“no. we broke up,” you state matter of factly, hoping the pain it caused you doesn’t all translate through your four letter response.
something familiar flashes over his face for a second, and before you have a chance to place it, it’s gone, replaced by his usual nonchalant demeanour, “actually no one broke up with anyone- you ghosted me.” as the words come out irritation flickers over his expression- for a split second.
you’re astonished at his audacity so much that it silences you for a few seconds, “i-” you shake your head in pure disbelief, giving up on neutral behaviour.
“this is ridiculous,” you settle on after a few seconds of just gaping at him, turning your head. you can tell he sees right through the tough act, he always could.
“sarah booked dinner at the hotel tonight,” he briskly changes subject. “for you,” he pauses, apprehensive- although you can’t really tell over his sunglasses, “well, for us.”
you scoff, almost on accident. you don’t want to be anywhere near him, you physically can’t, because wether you show it or not, wether he feels it or not, your heart still aches for him.
“ok,” your voice comes out softer than you’d like due to the thought behind it, and you can only pray he doesn’t notice.
“ok,” he responds, not amused, but also not harsh.
you spend less time on the beach than you wanted to, no longer enjoying it with a certain someone next to you.
you arrive back to the hotel and spend the next few hours lounging and organising with your airpods in, drowning out the noise.
when it’s finally time to get ready for dinner, you put on a casualish strapless white dress paired with the golden handbag you kept all your essentials in.
the restaurants tall ceilings and dim lights exude romance and you feel strikingly out of place despite fitting in physically. you certainly do not feel the same way all the adorning couples to your right and left do, staring at eachother so lovingly, naively in the way you were.
when you arrive the waitress takes you to a booth seat in the corner, and rafe lets you take the booth. he’s dressed in a classic black button down shirt with matching trousers, he certainly looks the part.
it’s awkward before you order, rafe and you seemingly both reminded of all the actual dates he used to take you on- when you wanted nothing but to be close to him.
“what can i get you both?” your server arrives with a wide yet business like grin.
rafe carefully folds his menu back in place and meets his eyes, “i’ll have the ravioli.”
the man takes a second to note before turning to you expectantly.
“uh, i’ll have… the champagne chicken.”
“anything to drink?”
as much as you don’t want to seem like a newfound drunk infront of your ex boyfriend-
“just a bottle of red between us,” rafe cuts in before you even get the chance to speak; and as much as it’s presumptuous of him, the words would’ve fallen out of your mouth aswell had he not interrupted.
rafe turns to you as the man standing above the two of you scribbles, checking for your approval, and when you don’t outright object he takes that as sign and nods to himself-almost in approval.
“that all?” you nod gently and give a kind quick smile, “thanks.”
you revert your eyes to you surroundings as the man walks away as if it will stop the feeling of rafes eyes boring into you in your peripheral.
your dinners come quickly and you’re thankful that the service is speeding up and shortening your time at this godforsaken table. you can feel his leg bouncing discreetly under the table. the same way it did when he took you out around ten months ago and asked you officially to be his girlfriend- with the widest yet most nervous grin painting his face. you try not to get too emotional halfway into your chicken.
“is yours nice?” you wish he would just stop with the small talk.
“mhm,” you offer a curt nod, not even looking up at him, hoping he’ll take it as a sign. “i bet it’s not as nice as the ones you used to make for me, but it looks good.”
you almost fully gag up a piece of chicken making its way down your throat. this is cruel. the way he can just causally bring up memories although they’re just something he saw-spectated on, instead of actually living them, feeling them like you did.
“don’t act like you miss them,” you look up, anger bubbling in your defeated tone, subtle but there.
“i do,” he offers softly. that’s all he offers.
he’s no longer eating but instead looking up at you, scanning you for any form of reaction.
“anyways, i mainly miss what came after them,” he raises his eyebrow- softness gone, like it’s some kind of joke, like you didn’t spend months forgetting how he used to worship you whenever you tried for him, how he’d place you on your counter with the remnants of your food still on his hands and thank you for it.
“you’re so good to me, what did i do to deserve you?” he’d murmur against your forehead, panting softly into your mouth as he made sweet, soft love to you, continuing to rant on about how perfect you are. were.
to have something like that watered down and simply turned into a lewd joke made to fill silence- kills you.
you abruptly stand from your place in the booth and lock eyes with him for a second, wiping your mouth with cloth, unsure of what to do- before turning and padding away quickly to the bathroom with a “i’ll be right back.”
you don’t take the time to study his reaction, but you assume it’ll be something of annoyance- maybe an eye roll.
you push open the door and almost stumble over yourself, not exactly moving quickly anymore- just tired.
you’re thankful there’s no one else in the stalls to watch you give up.
you take both hands on the rows of sinks and take a second to stare at yourself in the mirror. god you’re pathetic. what the fuck is wrong with you? all you see when you look back at your reflection is exhaustion. this is crushing you. you can’t even look at yourself.
none of anything matters to him, none of it. you’re probably another name on a list, you probably were even before you’d broken up.
you rub the inner corners of your eyes with your palm to keep yourself from crying or getting so angry you throw something- you’re not sure.
you barely even hear the door opening.
“what?” you offer quietly, expression neutral. that’s all you offer.
he looks almost nervous and for a second you thinks it’s because he regrets his crude joke- before he speaks.
he’s standing, holding the door open, “uh, sarah called.” he’s still closed off, careful to not show too much.
you make a face that gestures for him to continue.
“there’s a storm across the coast of outer banks, a bad one,” he dismisses at the end, nodding to emphasise.
you certainly cannot deal with whatever new problem seems to be occurring either way, but you swear to god if he says-
“all the flights are cancelled, they can’t make it.”
he pauses.
“it’s uh, just us.”

Content under the cut! Mild NSFW!
(Ps. I also want to write smth w Lucio being "the other man" bc Mr. Situazione Complicata hahaha this request reminded me of it! This would be my only exception to the "no cheating" rule!)
(Ps 2. It's currently 4 am while I'm writing this so this might be my only post today, but I'm still not sure. I like taking small breaks on weekends but I still wanted to make sure you all were well fed as a thank you for almost 80 followers, I love you all so much 💙 please don't hesitate to like, reblog, comment and everything to show your love back!)
Lucio downed his drink with a frown and looked over the crowd. He didn't like parties much, they were too noisy and the music wasn't much to his taste. Still, he had chosen to tag along with you and Tommaso to one of them, because he wanted to spend more time with both.
But you were nowhere to be found, and his frustration was visible.
"Tommà, did you see my partner?" He asked, and got a shrug in response.
"I think I lost sight of them a while ago. They should be near the drinks or so."
"I'll go look for them... If I get home too late, Era and Ennea get annoyed at me, so it's best if we get going soon."
"That's okay, man. See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure, Tommà. See you."
A pat on the shoulders ended the meeting, and Lucio slid into the sea of people to look for you. And he did, soon enough... But saw that someone else was talking to you. Someone he didn't know, but the way they got close to you and made you smile upset something in his mind. And he had to do something about it.
"Hey, where had you been? I have been looking for you for ages", he remains calm, but you can feel a possessive arm around your waist and a brief kiss in your lips. You introduce the person to Lucio, without really clarifying their ties to you, and he politely greets them. "I don't mean to cut the fun short, but I think it'd best if we go. If we make it too late back, my dogs might be upset. And there's something I'd like to talk to you about."
Despite you not really wanting to leave, something inside you tells you to get going, so you quickly apologize and say goodbye to your acquaintance. In reality, this person was someone you hadn't seen in a long time, but didn't have time to catch up so far. But Lucio didn't know that. Still, you enjoyed the way his arm wrapped around your waist and how he kissed your temple, as his eyes surveyed the room.
You two make it outside, right to where Lucio's bike is parked. But as soon as you're alone, he pulls you in for a deep kiss against it. A long, intense one, with tongue and teeth involved, that soon trails down your neck to leave a small bite on your shoulder. He's shivering by the end of it, and you can feel one of his hands on the back of your head.
"Just a brief reminder that you and I have made a deal to be with each other for life", he says, before biting your lower lip. "And I hope you aren't going back in your word so quick."
You're about to say something, but he hands you your helmet, as he puts on his own and invites you to ride with him.
"By the way, the reminder will continue as soon as we get home. So I hope you still have a lot of stamina left for it."

ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ᴍᴇ ᴄʜᴏᴏꜱᴇ ↳ anonymous asked: HUSK and ALASTOR or angel and valentino?
#hazbin hotel#husk#hazbin husk#alastor#hazbin alastor#hazbin hotel edit#hazbin edit#radio demon#requested#make me choose#my gifs#dad beat dad#flashing gif#flickering gif#the full ask said ''in whichever way you define'' at the end so#i chose based off of which dynamic i'm more intrigued by. valentino as a villain and as a challenge to angel is REALLY interesting dont get#me wrong here. it's great. but THESE two have a lot of untapped potential for husk specifically#alastor is just there at the moment but HUSK. husk. it really is a mirror to angel's situation - everything wrong in his afterlife is#because of that gamble. but he WAS an overlord. HE was the one doing that horrible shit before. that's INTERESTING!!#he gathered and gambled away souls like money. it was all just a game to him. now HE'S getting his. a sick poetic justice in a way.#i am SO excited to see if they dive into this more!! will he ever self reflect? if he does will we SEE him doing this reflection? will it#be enough to play a part in him choosing to redeem himself? or even decide if redemption is worth the effort? i feel like there's potential#with his dynamic with alastor to influence that big time + his friendship with angel will also be a major factor#also making this set made me realize the hallway scene is like their one major interaction. jfc and it's fucking HORRIFYING lmao#look i loved their pilot interaction/dynamic as much as the next person but this is just. SO much better. more things to explore.#i'm really glad in the end that they were rewritten in this way. A+

The look that loki gave her was telling and even more so then words, the best idea was to drop that subject about the invasion all together. As much as she was curious about the being who did him mental harm was rather terrifying. If people thought that loki was dangerous back than, this being must be ten times dangerous. Even further prove that he seems truthful and just would instead forget about the trauma that he must went through. She decided not to bring that topic up for the time being.
" In a way it did, but honestly it would make me feel even better if one of these days I get to help you in return again, yet for now I'm not complaining." Margo replied sarcastically with a light eye roll as he pats her head. For a second there she almost forgot she was talking to an asgardian, a god of mischief. During moments like this she couldn't help but find humor or showed that she could give as well as she took.
Her dark gaze glanced up towards his green ones as his response. Oh she would believe that al right, even before she knew who he was. The wink and voice of his never failed to make her head spin. However she didn't want to seem like a school with a crush although he was certainly swoon worthy. " oh really? I am looking forward to seeing what more you can do." She challenged back but in a low tone to her voice. Her full lips gave a playful smirk.
After their exchange she then followed him to his work room. She remembered the last time she visited that she wasn't allowed in here yet now seeing how everything was how it looked like a science lab part library with stacks of books and tools that seems both familiar and unfamiliar to her. She didn't know where to look first, there was so much to take as she walked along him in his work room. Her hands were itching to touch one of the items that intrigued her but she held her composure.
While margo stood nearby her gaze went back to loki as he began to work his magic. The confidence in how he moved as he sets up the items he was using to make the charm. " this is incredible." She commented as stepped a bit closer to see his work.
Margo took him for his word about the lifespan they had and continued to in awe at the idea of that. Something told her it was more to that and wonder about his true heritage since he mention that he wasn't truly thorns brother. Maybe she would get the chance to ask loki about that another time once they get to k ow more of each other.
" the green beast? Oh you mean the hulk aka Bruce banner right? I guess the saying is true then, that he wouldn't like when he's angry huh?" Margo asked while trying to hide the smirk from her expression. She could only imagine the scene of how that whole exchange must have went down and it was a bit humorous honestly. Yet it must have been terrible for loki to go through that type of beating from someone like the hulk. However her expression also changed of worry when she noticed that haunted look. " I understand, I can't even imagine going through that..I will be sure not to bring that particular topic again. Not unless if you ever wanted to talk about that it will be of your choice."
She felt herself becoming better physically and the tea that he had was working wonders. It was her mental state that she had to have a grasp on. The feel of loki rubbing her back in a calm soothing way was nice. She never thought that this was happen. That the god of mischief offering comfort would be real.
" of course I didn't forget about that. So I guess that makes us even? I help you and you help me right?" She asked half teasing a bit. As he stood up she accepted his hand to stand up as well. " yeah I would like to watch.." her eyes look up and she had to tilt her neck at an angle cause he was taller than her. When her brain caught with her she quickly added. " I'll gladly watch how you work your charm..I mean in magic that is." She flustered after realizing how that most sound.

You ever finish a drawing that you really like and then you spend the next three days randomly looking at it for minutes at a time like that could make it possible for you to absorb its alluring and magnetic essence with your eyes
#this is me with my icon rn. also this is silly but yeah it really feels like that#i experienced the same thing but even more intensely back in february with the short comic i made then#and then also with some of the paintings i made during my painting course days#admiring the colors and lighting on this mundane green bottle. why not#honestly this might be the first time in my life when i'm making things and i sometimes end up actually liking them fully#no little extra gripes with it that could ruin it. i just like the thing as it is. love it even. it's exactly as it should be#this feeling is one of the top things that make drawing and overall at least attempting to make art worth it#i also wonder if anyone else experiences this thing where the image of a certain character stays in your sort of visual imagination sphere#like the thing becomes associated with everything that happens at that time. the music i listen to etc#it almost feels like i sort of AM this thing. like. spiritually#ok this is hard to explain without sounding kind of odd LMAO#it's just that i've never seen anyone express this exact sentiment. with seeing the character in your minds eye sorta#i mean hmmmm. ofc fursonas and all different types of sonas and such exist. re: the identification thing#i actually find the concept of an 'avatar' as something that represents you (in a digital setting mostly) really intriguing#it was actually one of the things i seriously considered as the subject of my bachelor's thesis#but yeah ok i'm just saying this so that you all know that i AM that little purple kitty holding a heart. btw#ok i'm going to go eat dinner now. don't mind me and my strange long-winded monologues#goosepost

i am pretty excited for the miku nt update early access tomorrow. the demonstrations have sounded pretty solid so far and tbh i am super intrigued by the idea of hybrid concatenative+ai vocal synthesis, i wanna see what people doooo with it. show me it nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
#im assuming it'll be out sometime in japanese afternoon time. but i will be asleep so i have to wait until tomorrow <3#but im so intrigued....... synthv did a different thing a bajillion years ago where they like#trained ai voicebanks off of their concatenative data? it never went anywhere because of quality issues?#but i still think theres some potential in that. and i think nt2 might be the first commercial release thats#sample based with ai assistance? correct me if im wrong though i could be forgetting stuff#but i dunno.... im intrigued.... i would love to see another go at kaito in theory#BUT crypton is like afraid of his v1 hint of chest voice so i dunno how much id like the direction theyre going in#and that really is my biggest issue with later versions of kaito he's like all nasal#like the opposite issue genbu has LOL genbus all chest no head#(smacks phone against the pavement gif)#although all chest is easier to deal with because if i want a hiiiiint of a nasal-y heady tone i can fudge it with gender#plus he has those secret falsetto phonemes. the secret falsetto phonemes.#its harder to make a falsetto-y voice sound chestier with more warmth than the other way around#people can do pretty wonderful things with kaito v3 and sp though. but i still crave that v1 HJKFLDSJHds#but yeah i dunno! i imagine they wont bother with new NTs for the other guys after miku v6 but i would be curious#i am still not personally sold on v6 in general yet. but maybe vx will change that LOL#the future of vocal synthesizers is so exciting..... everything is happening all the time

So I know, I know, we all hate it when people add comments and especially lengthy ones to posts that are no openly encouraging them. Nevertheless, I'm gonna do so in this particular case because the novel that I was writing in the tags just got too too long and I was frighteningly close to the tag limit.
The things that would fix Esteban Flores are (in roughly this order)
A found family (preferably one totally divorced from connections to his bio family) and/or a small child to take care of.
A heartfelt apology from his biological family (definitely Luisa, probably Elena, and maybe Francisco as well).
A hug x1000
Being shaken
Enough sleep
But most especially the first two.
Esteban's issues stem from being made to feel like an afterthought and/or an obligation to his family of origin. In his mind, he was not chosen or wanted. He was liked, loved even--but he was loved because he was familia--not because he was Esteban. He was not enough in and of himself, especially not when compared to Elena.
Do you know why he continued to tend the cacao trees during the Dark Times? Yes, it was out of love for his family, but I think there's a bit more to it than that. His abuela shared something private and meaningful (i.e. how to take care of the cacao trees) with him that she didn't also share with Elena. He was welcomed into Luisa's world--if only for a moment. This was his, the rare thing that he didn't have to sacrifice to or share with Elena. No one could take this away from him--the moment of feeling seen and chosen. Not even the fact that this moment was very very much an anomaly and the rest of his youth (and his adulthood) consisted of him being shoved into the corner of some family portraits and left out of others entirely---and no one noticing this for years.
In "Something I Would Never Do," Esteban outright states "Years ago/ I did not know/Just how much they cared for me." He's just now realizing after 40+ years that his family just might love him (50+ years if you go back to when Esteban moved into palace); he's genuinely surprised about it and terrified that he's going to fuck it all up. Yes, Esteban has atrocious self-esteem, but these impressions did not come from nothing. Even now, his family keeps him largely at arm's length. He doesn't appear (or isn't even mentioned) in the two family vacation episodes, suggesting he was left behind. His Navidad plans (the ones he has been dreaming of , all alone for 41 years!) are rejected outright by Luisa, and no one even bothers to ask what the Dark Times were like or how he is coping. Everything has changed and yet nothing has changed. He's there, sometimes he is shown attention and affection, but he's still made to feel that he's not really a part of the family in the same way the others were.
All this is pretty bad in and of itself, but it's made worse by the fact that he's not getting his emotional needs fulfilled from outside the family any more than he is within it. As far as we can tell, Esteban's only real friends as a child were Elena and Victor. (Maybe Felicia as well, but she was far more Elena's friend than his). And neither Victor nor Elena could give Esteban what he needed: the feeling of being liked and chosen for himself and that alone.
Elena is family--the same family has made Esteban feel like an afterthought and obligation, merely liked at best and tolerated at worst. But that's oversimplifying things. Elena is also the impossible gold standard that Esteban will always be measuring himself against. (And it's especially galling that she was 1-2 years younger than him, and he was still nowhere near her level). She's the favorite (and Luisa is not subtle about hiding that fact), the priority, the important one. She's the one who has always been and will always be secure in power and confidence and their familia's love--the exact opposite of Esteban.
Victor, meanwhile, was a horrible influence on Esteban, and not just where Shuriki was concerned. His selfishness rubbed off on his amigo, and his competitiveness and callousness brought out every one of Esteban's insecurities and worst tendencies. It's also very strongly implied that their friendship (at least on Victor's side) was rooted in how 'useful' Esteban was. Through El Segundo, Victor got closer to power/the crown and also found someone that he could feel "superior" to. Someone that Victor could consistently beat at races, so that he could feel like a winner. Someone who wouldn't tell Victor to go to hell if he subjected unflattering nicknames upon.
So yeah, Esteban's childhood primary source of affection/attention outside his family were two people who exacerbated Esteban's already huge inferiority complex. One of whom was part of said family that enabled said inferiority complex in the first place, and the other of whom is wrapped up in the event that caused Esteban to lose his family as well.
And then, Elena was trapped in the amulet and Victor was banished from Avalor, and Esteban was without anyone at all for 41 years. His primary source of attention and affection during this time was the woman who conquered his kingdom and took away his family. Someone who had preyed upon his vulnerabilities from the very start and who kept him alive only so long as he remains obedient and "useful" to her. There's nothing even remotely close to equal or mutual about this dynamic, and Shuriki did even more damage on Esteban's already battered psyche than all of the others combined and multiplied by ten.
Even after Shuriki is gone, Esteban still doesn't have anyone in his life that voluntarily chose to be in his life. His entire social circle is comprised of people that he knows through his family and/or his role as chancellor (and later his magical abilities). There's Naomi, except there isn't, because their dynamic is rooted exclusively in their shared devotion to Elena and their roles on the Grand Council (which is also directly tied to Elena).
Similarly, Doña Paloma interacts with Esteban almost exclusively in reference to his role as Chancellor. Would she give him the time of day if he had no political power or influence?. Doubtful, especially as she seems to really dislike him most of the time. There's a bit more potential for a genuine friendship to develop with Julio or Professor Mendoza, but again, these connections were formed through Esteban's job and we don't really see any interactions that aren't in service to that.
Higgins is explicitly Esteban's employee and given how insensitive he can be to Esteban, it seems unlikely that he has any real non-professional loyalty or affection to him. Same with Armando, except things do seem to a bit more cordial between them.
Esteban seems to have a good rapport with Avalor's allies, especially Toshi and Shoji, but these are unlikely to be anything more than friendly diplomatic connections and ones separated by distance.
So yeah, my boy literally does not interact with a single character on the show without at least one of them doing so out of obligation/duty/job requirement and/or ulterior motive. Fifty years later and almost nothing has changed, Esteban still has nothing and no one to call his own.
#esteban flores#elena of avalor#honestly it pisses me off that esteban never met chloe and barely interacted w/ valentina#because he has a lot in common with them#(and yeah it's not exactly ideal since these friendships too would be connected to job and family)#but still...there are things about chloe and valentina that elena just can't fully understand but esteban can#elena does not know what it feels like to grow up in elena castillo flores' shadow; but esteban DOES and valentina is doing it right now#unlike chloe and esteban; elena has always been popular and made friends easily; she doesn't know how hard it can be#how it can feel like you're doing everything wrong or even if you're doing everything right and its still not working out the way you want#and second-guessing whether people only want to spend time w/ you because you are royal and therefore useful#and elena's friends genuinely like her for her--and not her role#there's a whole dang AU episode in which she and the amigos find and choose each other w/o her having been the princess#whereas with chloe (pre-maliga at least) and esteban; there's always gonna be that doubt that elena never had.#'do you like me for me or for what I can give you? will you still like me when i inevitably disappoint you?'#reason no.1000 that elena of avalor should've gotten an s4: so esteban could make an actual friend and/or get an s.o.#preferably one who has no idea at first of who he is and who he's connected to#so that esteban knows that he himself is what the friend/lover finds interesting and not his power/connection#i mean don't get me wrong; i am still gonna ship him with elena and victor and naomi but can't help but feel like he deserves better#doña paloma is my notp and while i've seen him shipped with chatana and prof mendoza before and like it well enough#there's almost nothing in canon to work with#maybe one of the agama brothers? but we see so little of them tbh#i'm guessing that this is why he gets shipped with OCs so often#the 'right' partner with whom he could have a truly healthy; healing and sustaining relationship doesn't exist in canon#and all the most interesting esteban ships aren't necessarily healthy#since they are with people who either have already fucked esteban up or who aren't interested/qualified in helping him heal#am intrigued by esteban/ivy tho so i may have to rewatch stf soonish and evaluate further

Say Yes to Heaven
[Logan Howlett x Female!Reader]

Category: Fluff, First Kiss, Logan’s POV
Another Grumpy!Logan x Sunshine!Reader because it’s my comfort trope ✨🫶
『••✎••』
He never realized how much he wanted someone to care for.
It was something he didn't know he desired. A year ago, he didn't care for a single thing. He felt nothing. He was so numb. So empty.
He was an angry man. The kind of man people kept their distance from. Wade ruined that; he aggravated him so much that Logan started actually caring about his life. And for as much as he despised his fugly ass, he was internally grateful for him. He started to open up more and more.
Wade had a part in taking him out of rock bottom, as they say, but you… you aggravated him in the most endearing way possible. You were so bright, so happy, and full of life. Logan couldn't understand how someone could be like that, and he hated you for it. He thought it was so ignorant of you.
"I mean, come on, how could she be that happy all the time? It's fucking dumb. She doesn't even know me!"
That's what he said to Wade, but his roommate only laughed. He found his frustration hilarious and made fun of him constantly.
And don’t even get started on the way you spoke. Never once have you raised your voice at anyone. You always talked softly, and even if you were pissed off, you still found a way to make your words sound gentle.
The man couldn’t wrap his mind around the way you acted, you weren’t a mutant, but you damn well could have been with that forever customer service smile you wore every day.
The level of patience and understanding you held for people was insane to him, especially the amount of patience you held with him.
He was constantly telling you to fuck off, and you took no offense; you just returned that stupidly kind smile and told him that if he needed anything, you were there for him.
You had no clue what he’s done, what he's capable of, and yet you treat him with the utmost respect. And being a mutant, respect, and kindness were two things he hadn’t received in a very long time.
It made him realize things—about himself and others. He started noticing you a little more—the way you looked and the way you acted. It started out as simple confusion and disgust… the typical reactions one would have when one sees an overly happy person.
But it evolved slowly into intrigue and curiosity.
Then something else. Something he couldn't describe.
His first instinct was to push it away. To try and convince himself, he was disgusted. He did this with everything he felt, but he couldn’t keep lying to himself.
It wasn't disgust.
He couldn't name it; he wasn't ready to, but he knew it wasn’t that.
Wade had noticed the change in him, the way he looked at you, the way he started being a little less rough with the words he chose to say. He didn’t bring it up, but the shit-eating grin he gave each time Logan walked in and saw you was more than enough proof that he had picked up on it.
Of course, it only resorted to grins because the one time he opened his mouth, Logan didn’t restrain himself. He popped his claws and had to go couch shopping the next day.
Whoops.
So, with Wade keeping his mouth shut after being chewed out by Blind Al and Logan trying his best to push away the foreign feelings, it finally reached a point where he could no longer ignore them.
He didn’t understand why, of all nights, it had to be this one, but it was.
It was 3 am, and his old nightmares had come back to haunt him. He was restless, sweaty, and couldn't take another second of sleep.
It took a rinsing of the bathroom sink and a pitiful glare at his reflection for you to return his gaze.
He froze for a second.
You were wearing a large T-shirt, with a pair of shorts underneath. Your hair was messy, but it looked so soft, and your face was clear of makeup, leaving the imperfections of your skin that made you all the more beautiful.
Always wearing a smile. Always greeting him with a soft voice, sometimes a little raspy if just waking up, butnonetheless soft.
But once he rubbed his eyes and let out a tired yawn, you weren’t there anymore.
Because you were never there, you lived across the street. You were in your apartment, sleeping, with no idea that, at that moment, the man who constantly told you to fuck off realized he couldn't stop thinking about you.
The same man who would grunt, scoff, and throw away every kind gesture now realized he secretly cherished them.
He stood there for a moment, just pondering his thoughts. His eyes were still on the spot he saw you in.
His head turned to the right, seeing the digital clock that rested on the nightstand.
3:02 am.
You were asleep…. most likely asleep. You would be unhappy if he came over and woke you up, wouldn't you?
He looked back at the sink.
You could be upset, but you could also be happy. You could give him that smile. That sweet, warm smile.
It would be worth it, right? Just for that?
3:04 am
He didn’t think about it. Not even for a second. Ironically, it started raining as if to test him, but the man was determined.
He put on a jacket to cover his bare chest, threw on some random shoes, and was out the door before his mind could stop him.
3:13 am
He knocked on your apartment door. He was completely drenched from the rain. His hair was messy, his jacket sticking to his body, and his shoes were so wet that the squelching sound they made was the only thing audible.
He heard shuffling. Soft steps coming closer. He could smell your scent. It shocked him how easy it was for him to recognize it.
You unlocked the door. Your brows furrowed in confusion.
His mental image of you being in sleepwear, messy hair, no makeup, had been confirmed. You were beautiful.
You had a tired look, one of the many looks he wasn’t used to. But it was still a good look, and it still held your signature kindness.
He had a feeling it would.
You didn't look too shocked, just tired and confused.
You spoke. "Logan, is…? Are you okay?"
Your voice was even softer than usual, the raspiness it held only making it more comforting.
You were genuinely worried about him, and it hit him then that he was being an asshole. Making you wake up in the middle of the night, and for what? Just because he wanted to see you?
Just because of that, he should’ve given you a reason. An explanation.
He should've asked. He should have done so many things differently, but he didn’t.
His head was in the clouds, and all he could think about was you.
You. That was all.
But his expression gave away that he was in a daze, and your worry only grew.
"Logan? What's wrong?"
You stepped out into the hallway and reached a hand to him.
His heart jumped a bit when you did so. It was just a gesture—one simple act of compassion.
He wasn't worthy of that, but he couldn't resist. He didn't want to.
Your fingers barely brushed against his upper arm before he moved. He grabbed your wrist.
His grip wasn't hard. His hold was gentle, as he had no intentions of hurting you. You could’ve easily pulled your arm away if you wanted to, but you didn't.
His eyes locked with yours. He wasn't sure what possessed him, but it felt so right, so he followed his instincts.
He tugged at your wrist, causing your body to fall into him. Your chest pressed against his. His arms wrapped around you, one hand cupping the back of your neck, the other resting on the small of your back.
The embrace was so sudden, and he knew the situation was far from ideal, but his senses were overflowed by your presence, your scent, your softness.
His chin rested atop your head, and his eyes fluttered closed.
It wasn’t the first time he ever hugged someone, but it was the first time he hugged someone in such a way. He held onto you tightly, his grip possessive but not painful.
He was afraid to let go.
He felt your hands press against his chest. You were probably going to push him away, he thought, and he tried to prepare himself. He told himself he would let you go because it was the right thing to do, yet he didn’t need to.
You hugged him back, and he almost lost his footing.
How long had it been since he last received a hug? Since the last time, someone held him and showed him affection?
Too long.
Your hands went inside his opened jacket and held onto him. Your fingers pressed against his skin, and your soft, warm breaths caressed his neck.
He could stay like this for eternity, and he would never grow tired of it.
Your voice reached his ears.
"Logan, did something happen?"
He had been standing there for quite a while. He wasn’t aware of how long. Time seemed to freeze around you, but he didn’t mind. He wasn't one to believe in such nonsense, but when it came to you, he was ready to accept it.
Your hand rested on his arm, and he knew you were subtly prompting him to move, and so he did.
He pulled away from the hug just enough to look at you.
Your lips were turned upwards. The corners of your eyes creased.
"Logan?"
It was then that his actions registered—how utterly close the two of you were, how intimately you were holding each other. He was already warm just from genetics alone, but now he felt everything around him heat up.
"I-"
He didn't know what to say. It was like he was back in that bar, drinking away every thought. He couldn't think. There was nothing. Nothing but the feel of your body against his.
But what truly sealed the deal was when he felt your thumb gently caress his knuckles. It was a small movement, barely noticeable, but it was centered exactly on the scars his claws made.
That little movement made his brain short-circuit. His hands twitched. His grip tightened. He held onto you with his entire body as if scared to let you go.
"What happened?"
You were patient with him. The fact that he hadn’t even answered any of your concerns said enough.
But, eventually, he did find some words to respond with. It wasn’t the answer you were searching for, but it was a response.
"Why are you always being so fucking kind?"
It was such a simple question, and yet the amount of pain it carried was overwhelming. He knew you could hear every word behind it. Every word he couldn't bring himself to say.
He didn’t deserve it. He wasn’t a good man. He did horrible things, and sure… he made an attempt to make up for it. To be better, but it couldn’t have been enough, could it?
You were still here, looking at him with those soft eyes.
Why couldn't you look at him the way he deserved to be looked at? Like he was a monster.
Why did you have to look at him with those goddamn beautiful eyes?
"You deserve kindness, Logan. We all do."
And then, your voice became even softer and a little shaky. Your hands went back to massaging his knuckles. His scars.
"Just because you see yourself a certain way doesn’t mean the rest of us do. I see the good in you. Always have since we first met."
You spoke so softly, yet your words were heavy with emotion.
"I know it's not easy, but try to have a little more faith in yourself."
You didn’t deserve the harsh words he always threw at you. You didn’t deserve any of his anger. You didn't deserve him.
"Why?" He repeated his question, his voice strained, and you didn't miss the way his jaw clenched. "Why should I?"
His arms loosened their hold around you; his hands moved down your sides, and his touch feathered light. He wasn’t sure what he was doing, but he couldn’t quite let go just yet.
You paid it no mind. Only staring back into his eyes with the same kindness he was so used to, the one he had grown to treasure.
"You have a right to feel the way you do, Logan. And I can't claim to understand what you've been through. I can't begin to imagine. But you are a good man. A little rough around the edges, maybe, but you’ve shown me time and time again that you're trying."
A smile crept its way onto your face, and a soft giggle escaped past your lips.
Now, to be fair, he was used to hearing your laughter. With your… odd sense of humor, it wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. But, this would be one of the firsts to add to his collection.
The one reserved for him and him only.
Your laughter wasn’t loud, or annoying, or anything like Wade's. It was soft, sweet, and oh-so pleasant.
You were looking at him. Staring up at him with such love and warmth. You didn't even realize it, but he did.
"Besides, who wouldn't be a little grouchy waking up to that handsome face every morning?"
And, now, he was repulsed by the unwelcome vision of a certain masked man making his way into his head. He was so disgusted by the thought he didn’t bother responding. He didn't want to.
So, instead, he moved.
He had a habit of moving on his own and not thinking about it. It went from his hands going to your sides, and now, his hands reaching out to press against the door behind you.
You were pinned against the door, and the way you looked at him didn’t change. Of course, it didn't. Your eyes were always kind. They always were.
You were leaning against the door. Looking at him, waiting.
And he stared back.
He was so close, and he was tempted to pull away. To take a step back and leave. It would be the best for both of you; at least, he thinks so.
He couldn't give you anything.
He had nothing.
There was only himself. His body. His mind. His past.
His claws, too, if that counted for anything.
But, besides those, there was nothing.
He wasn’t a bad man, but he wasn't good either. Not like you were. He couldn’t possibly begin to match you, not even if he tried.
Which is why he had no intention of trying.
Yet, even as he thought that, his body moved even closer. The dog tags he had never taken off since he was given them hung loosely, dangling in front of your face.
One of your hands was on his chest, the other gripping onto the material of his shirt.
"Logan."
You spoke his name so softly. Almost a whisper, and yet, the sound of it was all his senses were focused on.
Your gaze shifted between his eyes and lips, and the hand that had been holding onto his shirt moved, reaching up to his shoulder.
The touch was light, as if hesitant, and it caused him to lean even closer.
It was so close. You were so close. You had been before, but never like this. Never in the way he wanted.
He wanted you so badly.
And you were right there. Looking at him with those eyes, with a soft, tender smile, and with an expression he didn't recognize.
He knew that was an invitation. You were always an open book, and your body language was no different.
And it wasn't the first time you did so.
There were many times when you looked at him. Your eyes trailing over his face. Your gaze went downwards, lingering before you snapped out of it and looked away.
He always saw it, always knew it was there, but he just chose to ignore it. He wasn’t in the right mind, then. He was just another broken man, struggling to get by, trying his best.
Trying to find some meaning in his life.
But, even now, he was still hesitant. Even after coming all the way here and making his intentions clear, he struggled with it.
"Are you sure?"
Because you were so much better than him.
Because he could still remember the day the two of you met. How much of an asshole he was, how rude, how angry.
It wasn’t until the seventh time you approached him that he realized that he had met someone who genuinely, wholeheartedly cared.
It wasn't until the twentieth time you approached him that he finally accepted it.
He could never forget the way you smiled and spoke to him, even though he had given you no reason to.
"Hi, Logan!"
You would say.
"Good morning!"
You would wave.
"Have a nice day, Logan."
You would nod, even though the man himself chose to ignore you. Goddamn it. You were so much better than him.
Much purer. Much more innocent.
You had a heart of gold, and a soul as white as snow. You were so good, so kind, and the thought of soiling you, of ruining your light with his darkness, it scared him.
It was the sole reason he didn't give in, even now, with you offering yourself to him.
He didn't want to ruin you.
"Yes."
No hesitation. No second thoughts.
Your eyes were so kind. So full of love, and the same emotion reflected back in his own.
But, even with the clear sign of assurance, he still felt the need to create one last line of defense.
With the hand against the door, he peeled it back enough to have your eyes catch sight of the fist it made.
In a millisecond, he unleashed his claws and slammed his fist against the door, the sharp adamantium easily slicing through the wood, causing the door to crack.
And, yet, no reaction. Not a single flinch, not a wince, not even a hitch of breath.
You weren't afraid. Not at all. Even as the claws were mere inches from your face, you weren't scared.
The corners of your mouth twitched. Upwards, and it soon bloomed into a bright smile.
He retracted his claws, and gave you another once-over, just to be sure, and you responded by lifting your hand, grasping the metal chain hanging from his neck.
Your fingers grazed against the cool metal, and your smile softened before turning into a small grin.
"For a man who states he isn’t scared of anything, you sure have a lot of defense mechanisms, Logan."
Teasing. That was a new one for you.
He liked it.
"Say it again." Now, finally, you showed a different expression. Confusion mixed with curiosity. You were wondering what he meant. "My name."
"Logan."
For you, his actions were mere seconds. You had no time to process the feeling of his breath against your lips. The feeling of his stubble tickling your skin. The feeling of his warm, dry lips pressed against yours.
But, for him, it was a slow, steady motion. He took his time. He pulled you closer, his hands moving from the door and cupping the back of your head and your waist.
The kiss was soft. Gentle. Nothing rushed.
He held you like you were fragile. Like you were made of porcelain and could break at any moment. He could, theoretically, but he would rather go through Cassandra’s entire repertoire of torture than hurt you.
He lifted you up. Your legs wrapped around his waist, and your arms around his neck, his own pulling you closer, his fingers digging into your skin.
You tasted exactly how you were. Pure. Sweet.
Like heaven.
He was sure he was leaving that of the bitter alcohol he had downed on your lips, but you didn't seem fussy about it.
Not that he could focus on anything else, anyway.
He was too distracted by the way his tongue danced with yours.
Too focused on the taste of your mouth.
Too distracted by the way your hands made themselves a home in his wet hair. They would tug every once in a while, releasing a groan he hadn’t known was there.
He was too distracted to care.
He was too lost in your scent. Wade always called him that character from that shity vampire movie due to his nose.
He always disagreed until you happened to mention the resemblance. Then, and only then, did he see the logic.
And you saw the logic here, too—the logic of how good you melted together. Experiencing it now made him question his decision to stay away.
If it was always going to be this good, this intoxicating, he should’ve done it a long time ago.
He should've taken the chance.
It would've saved the two of you a lot of frustration, and a lot of headaches.
But it didn't matter. He was here now.
And, as his foot broke into the door, mouth still latched onto yours, with him figuring his way about your apartment, he thought:
It doesn't matter.
As long as I’m here.
As long as you’re in my arms.
It doesn't matter.
Fortunately, that meant he didn’t have to wake up to that toupee-stapled face every morning, as he had so dreadfully imagined.
Unfortunately, it also meant that the next time he saw Wade, he would have to deal with him talking his ears off about what had transpired.
But, for now, he could live with that.
He was more focused on the fact on making sure you weren’t regretting your choice.
Because he sure as fuck didn’t.

How to Write a Character with THAT *Sad Aura*
Have you ever stumbled upon a character, who, despite radiating wholesome, positive energy, also has a subtle undertone of sadness? It's kind of intriguing, isn't it? If you've ever wanted to write a perhaps more complex character or explore writing emotions, why not check this out?
What am I talking about?
Let's do a quick introduction as to what I mean. I've said this a couple times already, but to the reader, this character feels despondent even though they act nothing like it. This doesn't mean they have to act happy all the time (like my first example); they might act cold, or apathetic, but the point is they don't act visibly sad.
This faint melancholic mood provides a charming, or even nostalgic feel to the audience through ONE character! Isn't that kind of fun?
Eye Expressions
This character will not show sadness on their face--that contradicts the idea of "sad aura". But you know what they say, right? Eyes are the windows to the soul; they do not lie!
When trying to highlight some of this unhappiness, write about their eyes. Talk about how their eyes look oddly dim sometimes when they smile, or how they don't meet their friend's eyes when they laugh. These cues are simple but powerful.
Adverbs
You always have to be mindful of adverbs, but here especially, adverbs (and adjectives) unconsciously influence how your audience views the character.
For example, avoid saying too much of "smiled brightly" or "talked excitedly". If these are the adverbs you purposefully want to use to portray your character, then by all means! However, these adverbs add a happier connotation, which you must be aware of. If you want something more neutral (which I recommend for the most part), consider using lighter adverbs/adjectives, such as "smiled softly", or "offered lightly".
Reasons
A reason is normally needed for almost everything. Here, you want genuine reasons to back up why your character doesn't ask for help, thus forcing them to work through their unhappiness alone.
This could be because they think other people can't solve the problem, they don't want to bother others, they don't think their issue is a big deal, or they simply believe there's no solution.
Physical Hints
And if all this isn't enough, then drop some physical hints! Perhaps your character gets distracted often, tends to hesitate before speaking, deflects concerned comments with jokes, or has a hard time acknowledging reassurances, even when it's unrelated to their personal troubles. These habits suggest the idea your character has more than meets the eye.
Mood Changes
When people are upset, their mood tends to fluctuate. For most of us, we're typically upset for a short period, so we cycle through emotions such as anger, sadness, and even joy during these moments.
However, if your character is consistently sad, not just for a day or two, their mood might shift on different days. Maybe they're really tired one day, hardly speaking. Maybe the next, they are more frustrated, snapping at people or ignoring them. Maybe the day after that, they are overly energetic, bouncing everywhere and talking all the time, providing a bit of whiplash.
Purpose
Similar to having a reason for their reluctance of reaching out, you also want to ensure that they have a purpose for fighting. Why haven't they given up yet? This is especially crucial when considering the real world, where feeling upset leads to a lack of motivation.
So, what keeps them going, then? Do they want to fix their regrets? Do they want to change?
Backstory and Actions
To be honest, I wouldn't consider a backstory an absolute necessity, but I highly suggest creating one. Why? Because you can accurately identify the reason for your character's guilt, regret, and sorrows from the past with an actual backstory.
The events of your character's past always influence their future actions.
For example, if they were a part of a severe car accident in the past, perhaps they only feel comfortable when they are the driver in the future because that means they can control the car.
Conclusion
This character is not especially different from any other character, besides the fact that they are neither obvious nor overly secretive of their genuine feelings.
With that being said, focus on embodying their eye expressions, be careful about which adverbs and adjectives you choose to use--I recommend choosing ones with more neutral connotations for a sense of melancholy, explain why your character keeps their sadness to themselves and why they keep fighting despite it, show mood fluctuations, drop physical hints, such as actions and/or specific personality traits, and make sure to connect their past to their present!
Happy writing~

Panic. Embarrassment. Shame.
It was hard to describe what you felt when you stared at your phone, realizing that you had just sent Spencer Reid a nude picture of yourself.
It was a mistake, of course – right when you wanted to send him a screenshot of an article, you stumbled over the mess in your apartment and selected the wrong picture. Frozen in place, you watched in horror as the read receipt showed up instantly.
Spencer had just seen your naked body light up on the screen of his phone.
A picture he never asked for and probably didn't want to see. It wasn’t a bad photo, some might even call it aesthetically pleasing. But you had never intended for anyone else to see it. It was just a way for you to make yourself feel good about your body.
You contemplated your options. Burning your phone, moving across the country and changing your identity sounded intriguing but difficult to arrange. Instead you decided to text Spencer, hoping that soon you’d both be able to laugh about the embarrassing thing you just did.
“I am so sorry about that. I really didn't mean to send that! Can you please delete the pic and forget about it?”
You didn't get a response. Spencer was never great at texting but you had really hoped to hear back from him. It was hard to tell if he felt just as embarrassed or maybe even offended – you certainly wouldn't want to receive unsolicited nude pics either.
You had barely gotten any sleep when you walked into work the next morning. Worst case scenarios had plagued your mind all night – from another painful workplace sexual harassment seminar to maybe even losing your job over your mishap – you had no idea what would expect you today.
Everything seemed normal when you got to your desk, except for the fact that your favorite coworker didn't even look at you when you walked by him. Spencer usually liked sitting beside you in the conference room and also on the jet, but he did neither of those things that day.
“Wow you really must have pissed Reid off, huh?” Luke whispered when he sat down beside you on the plane.
“Did he say anything to you?” you wanted to know.
“No, he didn't. What did you do? Spill coffee over his favorite chess board?” he teased.
“Oh it’s so much worse than that,” you whined while heat rushed to your face.
Emily decided to discuss the case before Luke could ask more questions. Spencer avoided you for the next couple of hours until you decided you both had suffered enough.
A quiet moment in the coffee kitchen of the police precinct seemed good enough to approach him.
“Hey Spencer,” you said and noticed how he almost jumped at the sound of your voice.
“H…hi,” he mumbled, his eyes fixated on the floor.
Stepping closer, he finally looked at you for the first time that day. The rosy shade spreading over his cheeks was impossible to ignore.
“I’m very sorry about the… you know. I didn't mean to send it but I understand if you feel offended by it,” you sincerely told him.
“I’m not… offended.”
You took a deep breath before you continued talking, “All I want to say is… if you want to discuss this incident with Emily or even HR, I would understand. I never wanted to make you uncomfortable in any way.”
“No, it’s okay, really,” he lied. “We can just forget about it.”
Spencer Reid was good at many things. Lying, however, definitely wasn’t his strong suit. You decided to drop the subject for now, aware that talking more about it would probably not make him less uncomfortable.
The tension between you two was palpable for the rest of the workday. When you stepped into your hotel room that night, you were relieved to finally have a couple of walls between the two of you.
If this thing didn't resolve soon, you’d have to talk to Emily about it eventually. But there was still hope that it wouldn't come to that. The embarrassment about your mishap was already bad enough as is.
The three knocks on your hotel door startled you. With your heart beating uncomfortably fast, you walked over to the door to find Spencer on the other side.
He walked into your room without saying a word. Then he began slowly pacing up and down your room, still silent. He looked at you for a second but his sight fell to the floor immediately after that.
“I uh…” he began before taking a deep breath. “I lied to you earlier.”
“About what?” you wanted to clarify. “Wanting to go to HR?”
He shook his head. “I said that we can just forget about it but I don’t think I can do that.”
Your heart felt heavy at his words. His discomfort pained you and you wished nothing more than to be able to take it back. “I’m so sorry Spencer.”
“I deleted the image off my phone but…” he paused to finally look at you. The expression written over his face was hard to read. What you didn't find was the discomfort you expected. Instead he looked… cocky?
He continued, “...it seems like it’s burned into my brain. And I can’t help but wonder, was it really an accident?”
“What?! Of course!” you squeaked. “Believe me, I would never want to send you a picture like that unprompted.”
That was when you saw a subtle smirk on his face. “Interesting choice of words.”
You thought about it for a moment. Had you really just implied that you would want to send him nudes if he’d ask you to?
“That's not what I meant,” you tried to brush it off. “And please don’t give me a lecture about Freudian slips.”
His presence filled the room and you felt like you couldn't take deep enough breaths to satiate your need for oxygen. His demeanor was so different from what you were used to and you had trouble wrapping your head around it.
His next question was even more surprising. “Who did you take this picture for?”
The undertone in his voice was unsettling and you started feeling defensive. “I don’t see how that's any of your business but just for the record, I took it for myself. I do that occasionally to make myself feel good about my body.”
It seemed as if he was content, almost relieved with your answer. You scanned his body language again and replayed his words in your head. Then it hit you all at once. Spencer was not here to scold you for what you did.
He was jealous. And he wanted to make sure no one else got to see your picture.
A grin formed on your face as you realized that you could play this game too.
Your tone was laced with a certain playfulness when you asked, “What did you do after you saw the picture?”
The change of your demeanor seemed to take Spencer by surprise. “I just told you, I deleted it.”
“I don't think that's all you did.” He audibly gulped and you noticed his cheeks taking on a reddish color. Stepping closer to him, you whispered, “Did you touch yourself, Spencer?”
A shaky breath left his mouth before he confessed, “Yes.”
“Naughty boy,” You teased him. “You really liked that image, hm?”
Nodding, he took a step forward until there was barely any space between the two of you. “I can't stop thinking about you.”
His words boosted your confidence. “I know I look great in that pic. But I think I would look even better in this lighting right here, don’t you think?”
Before you could bring to action what you had insinuated, you felt Spencer's hands cupping your face to pull you into a kiss. The surprised gasp escaping your throat was muffled by his lips against yours.
He kissed you with a fervor that knocked the air out of your lungs. Weakness rushed to your knees and you had to hold onto him to not tumble back. One hand pawed at his shirt while the other one held onto his shoulder. His lips felt soft yet firm against yours.
When his tongue begged for entrance, you let it. As he deepened the kiss, you could feel heat rushing through body. A few moments ago you really thought you’d have the upper hand in this game you were playing but now realized you were just as pathetic as he was.
Maybe sending him that image was a Freudian slip of some kind. Or maybe it was just some odd plan the universe had to bring you together. Either way, you were grateful for how things turned out.
Your hands became curious as they wandered over Spencer’s body. The tingling in your fingertips could only be soothed by feeling his skin underneath them, so they quickly began unbuttoning his shirt. Spencer showed a similar interest in feeling more of you by the way his fingers dropped down to the hem of your shirt.
Piece after piece both of your clothes fell to the floor, only ever breaking the kiss for as long as necessary. When you stood completely bare in front of one another, you dared to press your body against his to feel him.
It was impossible to tell who moaned first when his length pressed against your stomach. With a firm grip on his shoulders, you moved him back until his legs made contact with the edge of the bed. You pushed down until he sat on the mattress, staring up at you with a curiosity in his eyes that made your heart jump.
As you stepped back, his tongue darted out of his mouth to lick over his lips and you wondered if he thought about tasting you. To your surprise, he managed to not break eye contact until you challenged him, “Go on, take a look.”
His sight scanned your body, lingering on your breasts for a second before moving further down, taking everything in. You couldn’t hold back from looking at him, too. A rosy color had spread all over his cheeks and chest and when you dared to drop your eyes to his cock, you noticed how it twitched slightly against his thigh.
“You’re so beautiful,” he cooed when your eyes met again.
“Better than the image?” you teased, smirking at him.
He only nodded before looking at your body again. It was like he was mesmerized, as if a miracle had just unfolded right before him. It became obvious that he was ready to worship you if you’d let him. But first, you had something else in your mind.
“Show me exactly what you did when you saw my picture,” you told him.
He raised his eyebrows in disbelief. “Wh… what?”
“Don’t be shy now,” you snickered. “Come on, I wanna see how pretty you think I am.”
The sweet smile on your face seemed to encourage him enough to let his right hand move towards his hardness. It was as if he needed reassurance when he found your eyes and you nodded.
He wrapped his fingers around his cock, giving himself a squeeze and you watched as precum spilled over the tip. Slowly, he began moving his fist up and down his length, swiping his thumb over the head each time he got to the top. The groan that slipped from his lips could only be described as absolutely sinful.
You couldn’t deny how much the sight in front of you turned you on. Spencer was so incredibly beautiful and the thought that your body had the ability to make him feral like that drove you insane.
Arousal gathered at your entrance the longer you watched him. This show was no longer enough for you, you needed more. Your hands found the curve of your chest, gently kneading them before your fingers began toying with your hardened peaks. Spencer’s eyes were fixated on your hands, his mouth hanging wide open and unabashedly moaning at the sight while accelerating the pace of his hand.
Then suddenly, he stopped and got up from bed. Desperation was written all over his face when he looked at you.
“Please,” he begged as he stepped closer. “I need to touch you.”
It was everything you wanted right then, too.
“I’m all yours, Spencer.”
His mouth was on yours in an instant and he didn’t waste any time to move you over to the bed to push you onto the mattress. He followed quickly, towering over you as he kissed down your neck, making you moan in anticipation of what would follow.
He moved further down your body, kissing and nipping on the tender flesh of your breasts before focusing his attention on your nipples. The sensation was almost unbearable and you could feel how your arousal began coating the insides of your thighs.
Spencer smiled against your skin when he noticed you rocking your hips against his leg every so slightly. His confidence grew as he realized that you wanted him just as much as he wanted you.
“Needy,” he chuckled as he kissed down your stomach. “That’s cute.”
Right then you couldn’t care less about being in charge, you just wanted to be taken care of. When his lips brushed over your inner thigh, you opened your legs further to give him better access. He lay down between your legs and didn’t waste any time before he began leaving feather light kisses against your folds.
You watched as he licked his own lips, tasting your essence on them before he found your eyes.
“You’re so wet,” he teased and let a finger move along your slit. “Is that all for me?”
He expected a witty response, like you telling him to bring his mouth to good use for once. So it took him by surprise when you simply sighed, “Yes.”
There was no more game to play. No more back and forth of who was in charge. It was just the two of you, equally as desperate to finally do what you both had been dreaming of for weeks.
“Good,” Spencer whispered, his hot breath tickling your core, before he finally granted you some relief.
His tongue moved through your folds, collecting your taste before he focussed on your most sensitive spot. He experimented with different motions for a few moments, paying attention to your reactions until he found what you enjoyed the most. Your hand flew to his hair, your fingers intertwining with his curls to hinder him from moving away – even though he had no intention to do so, anyway.
With one arm wrapped around your thigh he hindered you from bucking uncontrollably against his face while his other hand found your entrance, letting two fingers slip into you with ease. He moved with great precision, adjusting the angle and the pace according to your reactions, bringing you closer to your breaking point with every second passing.
The sounds of your pleasure filled the room as you began dancing along the brink of euphoria. With just a few more skillful motions, he pushed you over it. Your walls pulsed around his fingers while your entire body shook. He worked you through your orgasm before he lay back down beside you, placing a gentle kiss against your lips.
You were still panting when you found his eyes. The warm amber of his irises was almost completely swallowed by his pupils, the lust visible in his eyes contradicting the saccharine smile he showed you.
“You okay?” he breathed as he wrapped one arm around your waist.
“Yeah,” you confirmed while one of your hands moved down his body.
Tentatively, you let your fingertips brush along his length, feeling his velvety skin under your touch. “Now what are we gonna do with you?” you purred as you wrapped your fingers tightly around him, making him gasp.
With a torturously slow pace, you moved along his cock. “Tell me, Spencer. What do you want?”
“I uhm…,” he audibly swallowed. “I have a condom in my pocket.”
The fact that he brought a condom to your hotel room when he came over early amused you. He never had any intention of just talking to you.
“So, you want to fuck me?”
“Yes,” he admitted unabashedly. “If you want that, too, of course.”
With a nod you confirmed that that was exactly what you wanted as well. Right after you let go of him, he grabbed his pants from the floor to take out the foil wrapper. You watched as he ripped it open and carefully rolled down the condom.
Then, he kneeled down between your legs, taking a moment to admire the beauty of the woman in front of him.
“Come here,” you cooed and he leaned over you without hesitation.
Reaching between your bodies, you guided him to your entrance. He closed his eyes when he slowly entered you, relishing the sensation of stretching you open inch by inch. When he was fully inside you, he kissed you before he began moving with slow thrusts.
Wrapping your legs around his hips, you brought him even closer. When he was sure that you could take it, he accelerated his pace, fucking you against the mattress until you were sure you would lose your mind.
Spencer’s body began trembling and he suddenly stopped moving.
“Sorry, I’m really close,” he whined and tried to pull out slightly.
“Don’t stop,” you pleaded as you kept him in place with your legs around him. “Please, I need it.”
One of your hands moved down to where your bodies were joined to desperately draw circles around your little nub, making you clench hard around his hardness.
“Fuck,” he whimpered as he began moving again. “I can’t, ah–”
With just a few more deep thrusts Spencer came, his cock twitching inside you as his whole body shook. It was enough to throw you over edge too, entering a state of pure bliss together with him. After you had both come down from your high, you welcomed him inside your embrace, your fingertips gently dancing over his back as he caught his breath.
For the sake of getting cleaned up you separated for a few moments, only to lay back down together soon after. A shaky breath fell from Spencer’s lips and caught your attention.
“So…,” he began talking but didn’t continue.
You propped yourself up on one elbow to find his eyes. “Yeah?”
“I wanted to ask if maybe–”
“You want me to send you that pic again?” you interrupted him with a grin on your face.
“No,” he laughed. “I mean… that’s not what I wanted to say.”
Still in a teasing mood, you snickered, “But you would like to see that pic again?”
“You know what,” he chuckled as he lifted the blanket to get a peek at your naked body. “I think I actually prefer this.”
“Good,” you chirped. “If you want to see more of me you’ll have to take me on a date though.”
Placing a soft kiss on your lips, he whispered, “Deal.”

𐙚 𓏵𓏵𓏵 𐙚 i'll say a hundred and fourty times, | various hsr men x gender neutral reader reader
💌 — ; i think about you or something like that ! you remember your first date with your husband like it was yesterday, what exactly did they do to convince you that they were the one?
love mail — these vary in length cus bless my heart i js cant 💔 i picked the characters who are super popular on this account + mutuals faves so if urs isnt on here am sorry (ノ´Д`)ノ posting this early hi i love u guys!!!! thank you for so much love and a platform to write as a other yr passes 4 me and i turn 17!!! this is actually so long im going BANANAS 🩷 proper post tmr ! (anaxa, mydei, phainon, caelus, dan heng, boothill, sampo, blade, ratio, jing yuan, gallagher, sunday in that order)
what anaxa had done to seal the deal was fairly simple; he asked for a second date. the professor had somewhat of a reputation, many saw him as a cold man, soulless when it comes to romance. but what you didn't know was that anaxa had been thinking about what to wear the night prior, something he saw as 'trivial' and 'not an important thing to consider'. or how your hand lingered a bit too long after he gave you your favorite coffee/tea/drink (his treat), little and seemingly insignificant details were becoming more and more important to him as the day of the date was building up, and he wasn't sure why.
it wasn't until after the long date—you grabbed his hand, told him that everything he arranged was perfect, and smiled at him so sweetly he was sure he'd wake up with a toothache. the gesture was unfamiliar yet not unwelcomed, it was then he realized that he didn't want to let this go, that he wanted this.. for the rest of his life.
and he got it <3 hooray!
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
what intrigued you about mydei was his idea of masculinity. it wasn't toxic, you were VERY relieved at that... he was surprisingly a very gentle man despite his intimidating appearance! his first date being at his place was a bit off putting, but he just wanted to bake you a fresh batch of cookies. he's halfway through the process when you suddenly ask; "what's your favorite thing?" it seems you've brought the crown prince of kremnos into a bit of thought, as he thought long and hard of what to answer. "butterflies, i like butterflies. i don't remember if i've ever seen one before i escaped the river of souls. they're beautiful.. delicate, something i'll never really get to be."
the night goes on and you've gotten close enough to lean on his shoulders while you sit on the couch, enjoying a series in silence with a plate of warm cookies on the coffee table. the lack of conversation isn't awkward, rather welcomed, then it was interrupted by what has been probably the sweetest thing ever told to you. "you uh.. remind me of a butterfly. you possess beauty that is.. otherworldly to me, you're someone i've never seen before and i'd be honored if you.. gave me some more time to bask in your existence. let me be gifted with your ethereal charm."
100% spent the night cuddling together, made you laugh at how nervous mydei was to hold you since he didn't wanna mess up 🙏

before real dates became a thing, phainon's FAAAVORITE excuse to spend one on one time with you was study dates. was there any actual studying going on? yes, but was phainon listening? absolutely not! how could he? not when you're trying your best to tutor him yet he still fails this one specific class (enrolled cause you were in it) despite your teaching.
you didn't mind the fact he kept coming to your door, he was your best friend before your 'student'. but it was getting to a point that if you explain a complicated concept one more time, only to see him staring at you and absolutely not listening you're about to pull his pretty blue hair off.
which you did tell him. hair ripping threat and all, and naturally the nameless hero—who dominates battlefields and comes out victorious, is quick to confess his true motive for these frequent visits to your dorm. he just likes looking at you when you're focused, passionately discussing your favorite topic from your favorite subject and he gets to be a part of that experience for you.
he wants to emphasize; he gets to be a PART of something greater that you're DEEPLY passionate about, and understand you more as a person. (when he should be understanding the class but wtv)
taking you out on a date-but-never-officially-called-that date as an apology, which worked in his favor. it turned out so good that you told him you wanted to go out again, which he was ecstatic about by the way!!! super gratful he almost failed that class if it meant you two got together 🩷
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
caelus is a big eater at heart, so of course it felt only right to take you out to a nice dinner, all on him! welt even got him a nice outfit to go along with it, very classy and formal.
and while you two ate, drank, and laughed the night away—caelus was quick to notice that you were getting full. you and him had chosen the same meal (he wanted to try to understand and adjust to your food palette in case of a second date), but you felt bad that you couldn't finish it with so much still on the plate.
the trailblazer, who had already bulldozed almost the entire meal, laughs at your frown. only to switch the meals around, where there was only a little left and he had the bigger portion. "don't want anything to go to waste, y'know?" he flashed that charming smile at you, and it made you chuckle. not for such a sweet gesture, which you really did appreciate, but he had a piece of leaf stuck in between his teeth. it gave off the whole charm he had, effortlessly kind and unintentionally funny. you liked that.. liked that a lot, actually. (enough to spend the rest of ur lives tgt <3)
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
for a portion of your childhood life, you found it hard to be heard. your voice was never loud enough to stand out from a crowd, and you felt ignored. that you weren't good enough to be listened to.
so going on a date was extremely nerve-wracking. you decided to make sure to never try to assert yourself too much in a conversation, just let them take the lead and not try to disturb with your 'uninteresting' input.
halfway through the date, holding hands and talking about your favorite place to visit-you are very quick to realize that you've taken up most of the conversation. and it isn't in a bad way either, since dan heng was adding his own little comments.. adding his ideas in the conversation. but he hasn't.. stopped you. he let you speak comfortably, let you be heard. "sorry, did i give you a weird look? i didn't mean to.. i just.. i really like listening to you. please don't ever stop talking."
your now husband loves to tell the people that said his quietness would never get him someone.. that he has a ring now and a very lovely spouse that has a matching one !
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
boothill doesn't usually have time for dates, always moving on the road and hopping around penacony. but when robin set him up with a good friend of hers, he didn't want to decline. the cowboy was quick to realize you were really cute and interesting, so he didn't mind taking a day off... until it wasn't a day off.. and had to handle a quick bounty a couple of hours before your date.
"don'tgetdistractedandthinkofthemdon'tgetdistractedandthinkofthemdon'tgetdistractedandthinkofthem" is what he repeats to himself before he gets distracted, imagines how you smiled at him yesterday and expressed how excited you were about the date.
got his shit rocked :-( but he still trudged his malfunctioning arm and scarred face to your place. "sorry." he strained a smile as he falls into your arms, grunting. "didn't mean to make ya wait. darlin'.. would never try to leave ya alone on such a pretty night."
his selflessness made your heart soften. he was so uncaring for his wounds, and he was even muttering that he was sorry for getting so much of his bleeding oil on your clothes. the date didn't end up pulling through, at least not properly. since you brought him in to care for him, and honestly just ended up to you flirting all night.
you're more than happy to have a real date when he's all fixed up.
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
sampo had finally gotten one upped. HE got scammed by YOU in an exchange of information. it wasn't even anything out of harsh feelings, you had always been his informant, giving him what he needs for a good pay and go. but tonight, you decided to mess with him a bit. after receiving the money you charged to find whatever he needed on some random, you never sent it. left him waiting at his laptop and blinking at his camera, knowing damn well you were watching.
this became a normal thing, the back and fourth 'scams'. and soon your time together became less for a transaction, more just wanting to spend time with each other. which you told him from the very first day that you couldn't care less about anything as long as he had money (you didn't know his name till 3 months of working together).
so one night, expecting the usual "oops! sent it to the wrong number!" or "hehe, maybe i forgot a few zeroes and sent you like 5 coins!" you get an actual message.
"what a coincidence, i'm paying in full but it all went towards a restaurant near your place with the best table for two and your favorite food. it would really be a shame to let it go to waste.."
you agreed. and this went on long enough where one day his payment became a ring and a promise to love you forevermore.
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
two stellaron hunters slowly growing to be interested in each other is a rather entertaining sight. kafka was quick to catch on, the lingering glances and subtle touches of affection that would slip the average persons gaze. what was unexpected-was blade's initiation of these gestures. how he'd have a protective stance over you during battle, despite your capabilities likely being on par with his. how he allows his hand to be taken into yours, treating his calloused hands gently after a long day of fighting with his sword, or even just the way he looks at you. it's soft, warm, with a hint of tenderness and admiration. despite his nonchalant face.
this becomes more obvious when he finally asks you out, and he's genuinely caring the whole time. he's interested in your discussions about life, entertains him when he asks you for any other details, and you don't make him feel alone. that's the most important thing. and he makes it clear how much he appreciates you with how he tucks your hair behind your ear, murmuring if he could have the blessing to kiss you. it isn't on the lips-he's not pushing his luck.. but just the cheek. it was something small, but for him? an absolutely huge step.
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
the date with the ever so well known dr. veritas ratio had gone well enough that you agreed to go home with him. he was quick to clarify that this wasn't to sleep with him, he wasn't that kind of man to push something so early on in what he described to be: "a relationship that may be something greater than i could ever imagine" but instead to take care of you. it seemed as if you were exhausted from the travel during the date, and a nice bath would usually help.
nice bath was an understatement, the guy had scented candles, soft music, the right ratio from bubbles to water, snacks for you to enjoy and had a whole selection of books to choose from.
your fate was sealed the moment you walked into his bathroom because a man who can care for himself and still have the room to care for others is FOR SURE a keeper. even invited him to stay in the bath w u but he wanted to be respectful 🙏 (caved eventually)
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
jing yuan was the whole reason you got back into dating. after your first relationship fell apart, you found it hard to want to start things from scratch, learning favorite colors and life dreams all over again. but jing yuan swayed you, something that wasn't easy but he always makes sure to tell you he doesn't regret.
he was introduced to you through yanqing, your former apprentice before he was taken in by the cloud knights. he found out you and jing yuan were around the same age, so the blondie tested out his luck playing cupid <3 so even if it wasn't an immediate yes to his shenanigans, jing yuan started slowly. he could see you had walls and he wanted them to go down upon your own hearts decision, rather than bulldoze through them.
that care never went away. not even years later when he tears up at how far he's come, watching you walk down that aisle and knowing you're his forever.
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
gallagher's wasn't even a first date. but you were on one, or supposed to be. till you got stood up and wanted to drink your worries away.
you've been in the bar from the very first hour it opened till now.. aka 3am. and the bartender himself was growing a little drowsy. but you were going strong, probably your 8th bottle of the night, which was starting to be a concern.
one of many, really. for one, gallagher was wondering who could ditch such a person. you clearly fixed yourself up nicely, your outfit was gorgeous and you were so friendly to him up until you realized you were stood up, and the pretty face that made his bar a little brighter went quiet. he couldn't have that.
by the time his shift ended, he slid a drink to you with a napkin. "take care of yourself, alright? come by tomorrow night, and you'll get yourself a real man to go on a date with."
he leaves and the napkin (cliche enough) has his number and name. "gallagher." you say to yourself, making a note in your drunken state to return same time tomorrow.
⏜︵♡︵⏜︵୨୧︵⏜︵♡︵⏜
sunday totally took you out with vip seats to robins concert. did he have to do a LIIIITTLE bit of pursuading to have robin hand over these tickets? no.. but she did tease him for finally catching a date after all this time! and as much as he is a big admirer for his sisters work, the whole concert he couldn't take his eyes off of you. how you effortlessly glowed in a sea of people, how your passion for something as simple as music could rival his dream for eternal rest to penacony. he has dreamed of you, he's sure of it. someone so carefree and kind, a soul opposite to his, yet perfectly fills the other half of his empty heart.
he wrote poetry about you, robin found it, turned it into a song and had to awkwardly explain why robin's song that she specifically clarified to be written about someone he liked included descriptions of your physical appearance and hints of your personality.
found it very sweet, and insisted your next date should be something more personal so you can learn more about him the way he's learned so much about you without even needing to talk to you to do so. (was just happy to go on a second date)

White Horse - Chapter 11: December 2023
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Isabelle Leclerc (Original Character)
Summary:
Max Verstappen is a World Champion. Isabelle Leclerc is invisible.
She watched her family give up everything for Charles’ career—Arthur’s karting, their father’s savings, even her childhood horse. She understood. She never asked for more.
But Max does. He notices the things no one else does, listens when no one else will, and puts her first in ways she never imagined. With him, she isn’t an afterthought—she’s a choice. And for the first time, she realizes she doesn’t have to be invisible.
Warnings and Notes:
we have now moved on from Charles bashing to bashing his whole family, Discussions of toxic past relationships, talk about loosing a childhood pet, toxic families, discussion of allergies.
As always big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble

EXCLUSIVE: MAX VERSTAPPEN ON LEGACY, LOVE, AND LIFE BEYOND THE TRACK
Max Verstappen has nothing left to prove. At just 26, the Dutch driver has secured his third consecutive Formula 1 World Championship, cementing his place among the sport’s greats. A record-breaking season. The most dominant year of his career.
Sitting down with us in the aftermath of his 2023 season, Verstappen is more reflective than ever—about racing, his future, and, unexpectedly, love.
“I’m just really happy with where I am,” he says, leaning back in his chair with a rare, easy smile. “It’s been an incredible year, not just on the track but personally too.”
For a driver known for his laser focus and relentless pursuit of perfection, the mention of his personal life is intriguing. Verstappen has always been fiercely private, but for the first time, he opens up—just a little—about the woman who has been by his side through it all.
“She’s been amazing,” he says with a rare softness. “Just always there, supporting me. It makes a difference, having that stability, someone who understands what this life is like but also makes it feel normal. Racing is intense, it takes so much out of you, and having someone who understands that, who knows when to push and when to just be there… it makes a difference.”
There’s a softness in his voice that is unexpected, a rare glimpse into a side of Verstappen few get to see. While he doesn’t reveal her name, it’s clear she holds a special place in his life.
“I’ve been learning French,” he reveals, smiling. “It’s… a work in progress. But I hear it a lot at home now, so I’m trying. I think it’s important to make an effort, to meet someone halfway.”
The mention of home is deliberate—he’s no longer just passing through Monaco, but truly settling in. For a driver who once lived and breathed racing with little room for anything else, that shift is telling.
And when asked about his future outside of F1, his answer is telling: “Marriage with her? Yes, definitely,” he said with the certainty of a man who knows exactly what he wants. “One day, I want a family. I want kids. I think that’s something really special.”
Still, don’t mistake contentment for complacency. If anything, Verstappen seems more driven than ever. “I love what I do,” he says simply. “And I love coming home after, too.”
As Verstappen looks ahead to 2024, his goals remain the same: keep winning, keep pushing, keep proving that his dominance is no accident. But for the first time, it seems like he’s racing toward something more than just trophies. And perhaps, that’s what truly makes a champion.
Comments:
@/F1Obsessed: MAX VERSTAPPEN. LEARNING FRENCH. FOR HIS GIRLFRIEND. WE HAVE WON.
@/RedBullRacingUpdates: “I hear it a lot at home now” HOLD ON. HOME?????? HE LIVES WITH HER?????
@/MonacoGossip: So Max has a girlfriend. He’s learning French. He hears it a lot at home. CONCLUSIONS ARE BEING DRAWN.
@/PitLanePrincess: No bc WHO is she. WHO is this woman who has Max Verstappen learning a whole new language.
@/SoftMaxxie: “She makes it feel normal” I’M SORRY BUT THAT’S SO CUTE I NEED A MOMENT
@DR3Stan: Max is really out here being domesticated and thriving.
@/CharlesFanatic: French. Girlfriend. Monaco apartment. squints at every French-speaking woman in the paddock
@/TheGridTea: The way he just casually dropped that he’s LEARNING FRENCH for her like that’s a normal thing. Max, sir, you are in love.
@/CheckeredHeart: Not me downloading Duolingo because if Max Verstappen can learn French for love, so can I.
@/OversteerQueen: The fact that he didn’t even realize he was basically confirming he lives with her… Max, babe, you’re so in love.
@/SoftLaunchDetective: I need to go through Max’s entire Instagram with a fine-tooth comb IMMEDIATELY. There must be something.
@/F1Troll: Duolingo about to see a spike in Dutch users trying to figure out what Max is learning.
@/DR3Honeybadger: “I hear it a lot at home” SO YOU’RE SAYING HE GOES HOME TO HER. MAX VERSTAPPEN GOES HOME TO HIS GIRLFRIEND.
@/BoxBoxBox: Max Verstappen being all “oh yeah, my girlfriend this, my girlfriend that” like we KNOW who she is. SIR, WHO??
@/FormulaHeartbreak: I thought I was prepared for soft domestic Max but I WAS NOT.
@/TifosiDrama: Charles Leclerc’s face when he realizes his biggest rival is learning his language for his mystery girlfriend.
@/SidepodShenanigans: Forget the championship, I need an in-depth investigation into WHO this woman is and how she has Max Verstappen willingly studying.
@/ChecoFan88: We’re never getting her identity confirmed, are we? Max is just going to keep saying “my girlfriend” like it’s a classified government secret.
@/F1Obsessed: MAX VERSTAPPEN JUST SAID “MARRIAGE WITH HER? YES, DEFINITELY.” HELLO??? WHO IS SHE???
@/LandoNorrisFanclub: I need someone to look at me the way Max Verstappen looks at his mystery girlfriend that none of us have ever seen.
@/GridGossip: Max Verstappen, the man who once said all he needed was sim racing and his cats, is out here talking about marriage and kids. Character development.
@/Formula1Fanatic: Max in 2021: “I don’t need friends, I have sim racing.” Max in 2023: “I want kids, a home, and a life beyond the paddock.” What did this woman DO TO HIM???
@LightsOutMax: This man used to refuse to even acknowledge personal questions and now he’s out here basically writing wedding vows. Love really changes people.
@/PaddockPrincess: If Max Verstappen, king of emotional repression, is out here openly talking about love and marriage… yeah, she’s the one.

@/mclarenny: Wait wait wait Isabelle has a boyfriend??? Did i miss a chapter???
@/verstappensupremacy: me, knowing damn well who her boyfriend is, sipping my tea calmly 😌🍵
@/gridgossip: LECLERC BABY ERA INCOMING??? ISABELLE WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO US RIGHT BEFORE THE WINTER BREAK
@/f1blonde: If Isabelle Leclerc is pregnant and we don't even know who the dad is, i'm going to personally storm the monaco royal palace
@/f1insiderz: to be clear: no confirmation of anything, she was spotted in a boutique, could be a gift, could be for someone else, could be NOTHING (we’re still gonna lose our minds though)
@/chequeredflag: me trying to stay calm: it’s probably just a present also me: ISABELLE LECLERC BABY ERA CONFIRMED 😭
@/charlesincrisis: charles: what a peaceful day
twitter: ur sister might be pregnant
charles: 🧍🏻♂️
@/reasonableracer: guys: take a breath. Victoria Verstappen is literally pregnant. And CHRISTMAS IS IN 24 DAYS. Maybe Isabelle is just buying baby clothes for HER FRIEND’S BABY.

Leclerc Sibling Group Chat
(Members: Arthur, Isabelle, Charles and Lorenzo)
Arthur: SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY ISABELLE WAS JUST SPOTTED BUYING BABY CLOTHES??
Charles: WHAT???
Arthur: LOOK AT THIS. [attaches screenshot of a Twitter post: “Pretty sure I just saw Isabelle Leclerc buying baby clothes…??? Is there a Leclerc niece/nephew we don’t know about? 👀”]
Lorenzo: Isabelle. Tell me this is a joke.
Isabelle: Calm down. It’s not a big deal.
Arthur: NOT A BIG DEAL??? WHY ARE YOU BUYING BABY CLOTHES???
Isabelle: Because they’re cute??
Charles: …What?
Lorenzo: Isabelle, that’s not an answer.
Isabelle: I just like them, okay?
Charles: Wait. Is there something you need to tell us?
Arthur: OH MY GOD. ARE YOU PREGNANT?
Isabelle: No.
Arthur: Then WHY are you buying baby clothes??
Isabelle: First of all, a friend of mine is pregnant, so I bought some as a gift. Secondly, I like baby clothes! I have a whole box of them at home!
Charles: A WHOLE BOX???
Arthur: ISABELLE. THAT MAKES IT WORSE.
Lorenzo: WHY DO YOU HAVE A BOX OF BABY CLOTHES WITH NO BABY??
Isabelle: Because I’ve been collecting them for years!
Charles: …Years??
Arthur: But… for what?
Isabelle: For when I have a baby one day??
Lorenzo: One day?? Isabelle, you don’t even have a boyfriend.
Charles: Yeah. Who exactly are you planning this baby with?
Isabelle: Excuse me??
Arthur: I mean… it’s a little weird, right? Collecting baby clothes for years when there’s no sign of a baby happening anytime soon?
Charles: It’s just… I don’t know, kind of pointless?
Isabelle: Wow. Okay.
Arthur: We’re just saying—
Isabelle: No, I get it. It’s weird because I have them. If someone else did, it’d be sweet. But because it’s me, it’s just sad and pathetic, right?
Lorenzo: We didn’t say that.
Isabelle: You didn’t have to.
Arthur: Come on, don’t be like that.
Isabelle: No, really. It’s fine. I’ll make sure to run all my future life choices by you three first so I don’t embarrass the Leclerc name.

Text Messages: Isabelle Leclerc & Emilie Abadie
Isabelle: So… my brothers are currently having an absolute meltdown.
Emilie: What did you do? Actually, wait—what do they think you did?
Isabelle: Oh, nothing major. Just bought some baby clothes.
Emilie: …Are you pregnant?
Isabelle: NO!
Emilie: Okay, just checking! So why are they freaking out?
Isabelle: Because I told them I have a box of baby clothes at home, and now they think I’m insane.
Emilie: Pffft. That’s not insane. That’s just you.
Isabelle: THANK YOU.
Emilie: Seriously, I don’t know why they’re acting so shocked. You were the girl who had a wedding binder at thirteen and a full baby name list by fifteen.
Isabelle: It was color-coded.
Emilie: Of course it was. Because you plan ahead. It’s not weird—it’s just you being Belle.
Isabelle: It’s just a small box of things I’ve collected over the years…
Emilie: Honestly, I don’t get why they’re so weird about it. Like, I don’t want kids, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s strange that you do.
Isabelle: You don’t?
Emilie: I will personally never deal with sticky fingers or 3 AM crying, but you? You’re gonna be an amazing mom one day. And when that happens, I will spoil your kids rotten.
Isabelle: You’re the best.
Emilie: I know. Now, do you need me to help you pick out more baby clothes? Because I will fully commit to this.
Isabelle: I might have seen a few more things today that were cute.
Emilie: I’m in.

@/F1Updates: LMAO, not pregnant, just buying Christmas presents for literally anyone with a baby. I can’t.
@/ItsAboutDrive: Sadly Charles is not gonna be an uncle 😭 Isabelle literally went on to Instagram to shut down these rumours
@/mclarenny: It’s honestly insane that we need a full IG story to clear up the rumors. Just let her buy a few baby clothes in peace…
@/verstappensupremacy: The fact she had to make that statement is just... wild. Why do we live in a world where women can't even buy baby clothes without everyone assuming they’re pregnant?
@/leclercslens: Honestly, it’s not even funny. If she was pregnant, it’s her news to share, and people jumping to conclusions is gross. Let her live her life!
@/chequeredflag: Imagine buying a gift for a baby and then having to do a whole Instagram story just because people have assumptions😭

The winter sun slanted low through the living room windows, casting golden stripes across the hardwood floors.
Isabelle sat cross-legged on the carpet, the lid of the old storage box propped up against the coffee table.
Inside: soft cotton onesies, tiny knitted booties, delicate little cardigans wrapped in tissue paper.
A tiny quilt she had picked up at a market in Paris three years ago, too lovely to leave behind.
She hadn’t meant to pull it all out today.
It had just... happened.
Maybe because the fight with her brothers was still lingering under her skin, the words they hadn’t said loud enough to name — weird, sad, pathetic — scratching at her confidence like sandpaper.
Isabelle carefully unfolded a tiny pair of socks, brushing her thumb lightly over the soft fabric.
She hadn’t even heard the door open.
"Hey," Max’s voice came, warm and familiar from behind her. "You’re back early."
She turned, startled — and froze.
Max stood just inside the doorway, gym bag slung over one shoulder, hair tousled, still a little flushed from training.
His eyes dropped to the scene in front of her. The open box. The tiny clothes.
Isabelle’s stomach twisted painfully.
"I—" she stammered, already rushing to shove the lid back on, to stuff the pieces away. "It’s nothing. I was just... cleaning. I should put this away."
But before she could, Max was there, crouching down beside her, one hand gently catching her wrist.
"Hey," he said, voice low. "You don’t have to hide it."
She looked at him helplessly, the shame still hot and heavy in her chest. "I know it’s weird," she muttered. "You don’t have to pretend."
Max just shook his head, slow and certain.
"It’s not weird," he said simply. "It’s you."
He reached into the box without hesitation, pulling out a tiny, soft grey onesie embroidered with a little fox.
He smiled — a small, real smile that made her chest ache.
"This is adorable," he said, running his thumb lightly over the fabric. "You’ve had all this ready. Just waiting."
Isabelle swallowed hard. "It’s stupid," she whispered. "I don’t even know if—when—"
Max set the onesie carefully on her knee, and took her face in his hands.
"You’re going to be an incredible mother someday," he said, steady and sure, like it was a fact written in the stars. "And it’s not stupid to dream about it."
Tears stung behind her eyes, burning hot and fast.
"I’m not in a rush," she said quickly, panicked, because the last thing she wanted was for him to feel trapped. "I’m not—this isn’t pressure, I swear—"
Max’s thumb brushed under her eye, catching the first tear before it could fall.
"I know," he said. "I know you’re not rushing. And I’m not scared."
He smiled again — small, crooked, devastating. "I want that with you. One day. When you’re ready. When we’re ready."
Isabelle let out a shaky breath, leaning into his touch.
Max kissed her forehead, lingering there for a long moment, like he could press all his promises into her skin.
“I hope they have your heart,” he murmured.
“I hope they have your eyes,” Isabelle whispered, half-laughing through the emotion that suddenly welled up in her chest.
They stood there for a long moment — Max with his arm around her, Isabelle resting against his shoulder, the box of tiny dreams between them.
And for the first time in days, she didn’t feel silly for hoping.
Didn’t feel foolish for wanting.
She just felt… safe.
Held.
Seen.
***
The meeting was supposed to be quick.
Just a light debrief before the holidays — finalize a few schedules, exchange terrible Secret Santa gifts, maybe sneak out early and pretend they were already on break.
It wasn’t supposed to turn into... whatever this was.
GP, casually flipping through his notes, glanced at Max and said, "You sorted your Christmas break yet, mate?"
Max shrugged. "Mostly."
Then, without warning, he pulled a folder from his backpack and slid it across the table like it was nothing.
"Also, this is for you."
GP raised an eyebrow, visibly suspicious. "What's this?"
Max leaned back lazily, arms stretched over the chair next to him. "Kitchen plans," he said. "Merry Christmas."
Checo, half-listening at first, glanced up. Kitchen plans?
GP cracked open the folder, frowning. Max was utterly relaxed, like this was the most normal thing in the world.
"Belle helped draw it up. Should make it easier," Max added, casual as anything.
Checo’s brain stalled on one word.
Belle.
Belle?
Belle?
Across the table, Checo slowly straightened, feeling a weird knot twist in his chest.
Surely Max didn’t mean—
No.
No way.
"Belle," Checo repeated carefully, watching Max’s face.
Max nodded once, calm and easy. "Yeah."
Checo looked at the folder again.
Then at Max.
Then back at the folder.
Slow horror dawned in the pit of his stomach.
"Belle like..." Checo said, the words dragging themselves out against his will, "Isabelle Leclerc?"
Max’s answering nod was small but smug. Proud, even.
"Yeah."
Checo stared at him.
Dead silent.
The realization hitting him like a slow-motion car crash.
"You’re dating Charles Leclerc’s little sister," Checo said aloud, more for his own sanity than anyone else's.
Not a question. A statement. A grim acknowledgment.
Max’s smirk widened, barely restrained.
"Yes," he said again, almost cheerfully.
Checo just sat there for a long moment, frozen in place, wondering at what point in life he had taken the wrong turn that led him to this exact situation.
Charles was going to kill him just for knowing this information.
Max might survive because Max was Max. But Checo? Checo had a family to think about.
He valued peace. He valued survival.
Very, very carefully, Checo set his coffee down.
"You know what?" he said, pushing his chair back with slow, deliberate movements. "I don't want to know more."
Max tilted his head, amused. "You sure?"
"Completely sure," Checo said firmly, standing up like he needed physical distance from the absolute disaster this could become. "I value my life. I value my continued existence. I don’t want to be an accessory to whatever crime scene this turns into."
Max just chuckled under his breath, spinning his pen between his fingers like the smug bastard he was.
Meanwhile, GP was still utterly oblivious, flipping through the kitchen plans like he’d been handed the Holy Grail.
"This is under budget," GP muttered, awed. "How the hell—?"
"She’s good at what she does," Max said simply, stealing a sip of his Red Bull like he hadn’t just dropped a bomb in the middle of the room.
Checo rubbed a hand over his face.
He needed a drink.
Maybe several.
"You’re dating Charles Leclerc’s little sister," he muttered again, mostly to himself. "And now she’s designing kitchens for your engineer. I’m just... I’m going to mind my own business. Completely. Forever."
Max gave him a bright, insufferable thumbs-up.
"Happy holidays," Checo muttered darkly, clutching his coffee like it might save him from the nightmare he was now complicit in. He turned and walked straight out of the meeting room, not daring to look back.
Some things, he decided grimly, were above his pay grade.
Max Verstappen dating a Leclerc was absolutely one of them.
He didn’t want to know more.
He didn’t want to witness more.
And if anyone asked later, Checo would simply say he had no idea, no involvement, no memory of any of it.
Survival first.
Questions never.

The kitchen was filled with the soft clatter of dishes and the hum of the coffee machine.
Belle leaned against the counter, scrolling absently through emails on her phone, half-listening to the quiet patter of the cats chasing each other down the hallway.
She still hadn’t decided what she was going to do next.
Quitting had been the right choice — she didn’t doubt that. But for the first time in years, she felt... unmoored.
No title to hide behind.
No company name to make herself sound important.
Just her.
Her phone buzzed, startling her slightly.
Unknown number.
Frowning, she answered.
"Hello?"
"Isabelle Leclerc?"
The voice was vaguely familiar. Polished. Professional.
"This is Daniel Moreau — you worked with us last year on the Chevalier renovation in Beaulieu?"
Her heart lifted in instant recognition. The Moreau project — one of the few she’d truly loved. A quiet, modern transformation of a historic villa. One where the client had listened. Trusted her.
"Yes, of course," Isabelle said, straightening.
"I hope I’m not interrupting," Daniel said warmly. "I just... I was hoping to get in touch with you directly."
Isabelle blinked. "With me?"
"Yes. I know you were working with Atelier Renard before, but I heard you’ve gone independent?"
She hesitated.
Independent.
Was that what she was now?
"I—" She cleared her throat. "Yes. I’m no longer with them."
"Good," he said, without missing a beat. "Because between you and me, I wasn’t impressed with the rest of their work. You were the reason we kept moving forward…Frankly, we want to work with you. Not the firm. You were the reason the project went so smoothly last time."
Isabelle felt something flicker in her chest — a cautious, disbelieving warmth.
"We’ve bought another property," Daniel continued. "Another historic site. Needs sensitive handling. We were hoping you might be willing to take it on."
Her heart was hammering now.
They wanted her.
Not the company behind her name.
Not the brand.
Her.
"I—I'd love to hear more," she said, keeping her voice steady somehow.
They talked for a few minutes — broad sketches of timelines, budgets, expectations. Nothing binding yet. But real. Solid. Tangible.
When she finally hung up, she stood there for a long moment, the silence of the apartment pressing in around her.
And then it hit her.
She could do this.
Freelancing wasn’t just a fantasy.
It wasn’t some reckless, impossible dream.
She had clients who trusted her.
She had projects she could be proud of.
She didn’t have to disappear into someone else’s firm again.
She could build something of her own.
The realization settled into her bones, slow and sure and so much bigger than she'd expected.
From down the hall, she heard the cats yowl — something crashing into a wall — and a muttered curse from Max, who was apparently trying (and failing) to play referee.
Isabelle laughed under her breath, feeling something unfurl inside her she hadn’t felt in a long time.
Hope.
Real, solid hope.
Maybe she didn’t need a title to be important.
Maybe she just needed to bet on herself — finally, properly — and not be afraid of being seen.
***
Max wandered out of the hallway, barefoot, hair still damp from a quick shower after wrestling two hyperactive cats off the curtains. He found Isabelle standing by the kitchen counter, barefoot too, scrolling through her phone with that look he knew well — half-distracted, half-scheming.
She looked up when she heard him.
And immediately, he knew.
Something had shifted.
Something good.
He crossed the room lazily, leaned one hip against the counter, and stole a sip of her coffee before she could swat him away.
"Alright?" he asked, pretending to be casual.
Isabelle bit her lip — that tiny, telltale smile she couldn't hide when she was excited.
"I got a call," she said.
Max tilted his head, setting down the cup. "Yeah?"
"Daniel Moreau. From the Chevalier project,” she said, voice careful, like she was still half-afraid to jinx it. "You know — the villa renovation project I did this year?"
Max frowned, sorting through his mental archive — and then remembered.
The client she’d actually liked. The one who sent her a handwritten thank you note. The one she had called reasonable, which for Belle was practically sainthood.
She’d talked about that project differently. Like it had meant something.
"He wants me to take on a new property," she said, almost breathless. "Not with the firm. With me. Freelance."
Max’s chest tightened in a way he hadn’t expected.
Pride.
He grinned, wide and stupid, and grabbed her by the waist, lifting her off the ground for half a second before she squealed and shoved at his shoulders.
"Max!" she laughed, breathless.
He set her down carefully, brushing her hair out of her face.
"You’re a menace," she accused, cheeks pink, smiling anyway.
He just smirked. "And you’re brilliant."
Isabelle ducked her head, embarrassed, but Max didn’t let go. He never would.
"You’re doing it," he said, quieter now. "On your own."
She nodded, biting her lip again.
"It feels... real. Like maybe I can actually do it."
Max dropped a kiss on her forehead, easy and sure. "You’re going to be brilliant, schatje. You always were."
Then, grinning wickedly, he added, "Although I guess this means you’re quitting your career as my trophy wife after, what, three weeks?"
Isabelle snorted. "You’re the one who said I should be a trophy wife while I figured things out."
"You were terrible at it," Max teased. "No gold digger instincts. No dramatic shopping sprees. You kept refusing to use the black card."
"I bought the cats toys," she said defensively.
"For like two hundred euros," Max deadpanned. "Pathetic effort."
Isabelle laughed properly then, tipping forward to rest her forehead against his chest.
Max wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin lightly on the top of her head.
"You’re the worst trophy wife," he said affectionately. "But you’re the best everything else."
She hummed quietly against him, the kind of sound that always made something in him settle.
And just like that — without even thinking about it — a plan started forming in his head.
"You’re going to need space," he said, thoughtful.
Belle blinked. "Space?"
"A proper office," Max said casually, already picturing it. "One of the guest bedrooms. We’ll clear it out this week. Desk, shelving, everything you want. Set it up properly."
She stared at him, stunned.
"You—you don’t have to—"
He cut her off with a soft snort. "You're not freelancing from the kitchen table, Belle. You're not hiding your work anymore."
She bit her lip, eyes shining.
"You’re building something," Max said, voice low and certain. "And you’re doing it here. With me."

Arthur: And can you find a tree?
Arthur: The one last year was kinda sad.
Charles: Maybe get the ornaments too?
Charles: Some of them broke last year when Arthur dropped the box.
Arthur: NOT MY FAULT
Charles: Was totally your fault.
Arthur: Ok but Belle dropped it first and I just caught it badly.

Max knew Isabelle liked things to be done properly.
He just hadn’t realized how much of Christmas rested entirely on her shoulders—until he saw it for himself.
He leaned against the kitchen doorway, arms folded, watching as she moved through the room in a practiced, exhausted sort of rhythm. No music playing, no humming, no bright Christmas energy — just quiet determination.
The dining table was buried under piles of wrapping paper, tissue, and scotch tape.
The counters were cluttered with cookie tins she had baked and labeled herself— and he knew she had stayed up until two in the morning last night finishing them.
"Belle," Max said quietly. "When was the last time you sat down?"
She didn’t answer right away, too busy fiddling with the tags on a stack of presents. Her movements were brisk, mechanical, like she was running on autopilot.
"I’m almost done," she mumbled.
Max pushed off the doorframe, crossing the room to her. "That's not what I asked."
Isabelle finally looked up at him, and he caught it then — the dark circles under her eyes, the way her shoulders sagged under the weight of it all.
"I have to finish," she said, voice soft but firm. "There’s still the place settings for dinner, and I have to make sure the boys’ gifts are packed up, and if I don’t do the grocery shopping today, no one will—"
She cut herself off with a frustrated little breath, pressing her fingers to her temple.
Max felt something sharp and angry twist in his chest — but not at her.
At them.
At the way her family didn’t even seem to notice how much she did. How much she gave.
"Why does it all fall on you?" he asked, gentler now.
Isabelle shrugged. A small, defeated motion.
"Because if I don’t do it," she whispered, "nobody will."
And Max realized, all at once, that Christmas wasn’t a magical time for Isabelle.
It was work. It was duty. It was trying to make sure everyone else felt special, even if it meant breaking herself in the process.
He reached out and tugged the ribbon from her hands, letting it drop onto the table.
"Enough," he said quietly.
"But—"
"Belle." His voice left no room for argument. "Enough."
Her lip wobbled, just a little, and Max swore he felt his heart crack.
He pulled her into his chest, tucking her head under his chin, and just held her.
Held her like he could carry the exhaustion for her, even if only for a moment.
"You don’t have to do everything," he murmured. "You shouldn’t have to."
"I just… I want it to be nice," she whispered into his shirt. "For them."
Max kissed the top of her head, fierce and aching with love, unable to come up with an answer to that.

Text Conversation: Max Verstappen & Emilie Abadie
Max: You know what’s actually insane?
Emilie: That you’re obsessed with my best friend?
Max: That Isabelle plans EVERYTHING and no one even notices.
Emilie: Oh. That. Yeah, it’s infuriating.
Max: Charles, Arthur, Lorenzo, their mom— they just assume things magically happen.
Emilie: The best part? If she ever didn’t plan something, they’d all just stand around confused like, “Oh, I thought you handled it.”
Max: And she’d probably still feel bad and fix it for them.
Emilie: EXACTLY.
Max: How has she not quit being the family event planner?
Emilie: Because she’s too nice. And apparently, someone has to be the responsible one.
Max: No, but really. Why is she the one who always has to book everything?
Emilie: Because if she doesn’t, nobody will.
Max: They’d just show up at an airport with no flights booked.
Emilie: Or try to go to a fully booked restaurant like, “Oh, you need reservations?”
Max: It’s actually painful to think about.
Emilie: The best was when Arthur’s girlfriend was like, “It’s so cute how he planned our anniversary dinner.”
Max: No. Don’t tell me—
Emilie: ISABELLE BOOKED IT.
Max: I refuse to believe this.
Emilie: She even picked out the gift.
Max: Arthur better be eternally grateful.
Emilie: Oh, no. He just went, “Oh yeah, great,” and moved on with his life.
Max: …I need a moment.
Emilie: I KNOW.
Max: Does anyone EVER actually thank her??
Emilie: Not really. They just assume she enjoys it.
Max: What if she doesn’t?
Emilie: Then she suffers in silence because if she stops, everything falls apart.
Max: I actually hate this.
Emilie: Welcome to my world.

Pascale: Also, Isabelle, can you remind everyone about the dress code for Christmas Eve?
Pascale: I want a nice family photo this year. No jeans.
Pascale: I want it to feel festive, but tasteful.
Arthur: CAN I WEAR A CHRISTMAS SWEATER WITH A DINOSAUR
Charles: Maman will actually murder you.
Lorenzo: And you’re getting gifts for the cousins, right? Maman said you handled it best last year.
Pascale: And don’t forget to bake some of those little cinnamon cookies your brothers love!
Isabelle: Sure.
Isabelle: I’ll handle it.

The smell hit him first.
Warm, rich, spicy — the kind of scent that wrapped around your senses and pulled you straight into childhood memories.
Max inhaled without thinking… and then frowned.
Cinnamon.
He stepped into the kitchen, fully expecting to find Isabelle humming or maybe sneakily sampling cookies fresh from the oven.
Instead, he found her hunched over the counter, moving carefully as she arranged rows of golden-brown cookies onto a cooling rack. Her sleeves were pushed up, her hair pinned back messily. There was flour on her cheek.
And a deep, angry rash beginning to creep up the side of her wrist.
Max's heart dropped.
"Belle," he said sharply, striding over. "What are you doing?"
She jumped, startled, nearly dropping the spatula.
"Max! You scared me."
He caught her hand before she could hide it behind her back. The rash was worse up close — red and inflamed, already beginning to welt. He knew the signs; Isabelle was allergic to cinnamon. Had been since she was a kid.
"You're having a reaction," he said, keeping his voice steady even as his blood simmered with frustration. "Why are you—?"
She gave a small, guilty shrug, trying to tug her hand back.
"It's just a little," she muttered. "It’s fine. I washed my hands a lot. I’ll take something after."
"Belle."
"They like them," she said, almost defensively. "Arthur, Lorenzo and Charles always ask for them. I didn’t want to disappoint them."
Max stared at her, the cookies cooling between them, the kitchen warm and bright but the air between them unbearably heavy.
"You’re allergic," he said, low and rough. "You're hurting yourself. For cookies."
"For my brothers," she corrected softly. "They don't even realize I can't eat them."
The words slipped out, unguarded, and Max felt them land like a punch to the chest.
They didn't even realize.
She baked them every year anyway.
Because she loved them. Because she thought that was what love meant — giving and giving, even when it cost her.
He closed his eyes, the fury, hot and immediate.
All the work, all the care, all the quiet sacrifices—things her family didn’t even see unless they went undone.
Max opened his eyes and pulled a bowl away from her, setting it firmly on the counter.
"No," he said.
Isabelle blinked up at him, startled. "No?"
"No more," Max repeated. "You’re not doing this. Not for them. Not when it hurts you."
"But—"
Max cupped her face, ignoring the faint cinnamon dust on her cheek.
"I love how much you care," he said, voice low, steady. "I love how much you want things to be perfect for everyone. But you deserve someone who thinks about you, too."
He saw the way her throat bobbed, the way her lashes fluttered like she was trying not to cry.
"You don’t have to earn their love, Belle," Max whispered. "You don’t have to set yourself on fire just to keep them warm."
And for a long moment, neither of them moved.
The oven beeped in the background, forgotten.
Finally, Isabelle sagged into him, her forehead pressing into his chest, her hands fisting lightly in his sweater.
Max wrapped his arms around her, holding her together because he knew she’d spent so long holding everyone else.

Max’s suitcase was by the door, neat and ready, like always.
She sat on the edge of the couch, fingers curled around a mug of tea she wasn’t drinking, pretending the ache in her chest was just from the cold — not from the knowledge that he was leaving, and she was staying.
They had never made a big thing out of it. They had agreed months ago: Christmas with their own families.
She hadn’t wanted to impose. And truthfully, she hadn’t thought she was allowed to want anything else.
Max crossed the room, zipping up his jacket, his steps slow like he didn’t want to leave either.
"You sure you’ll be okay?" he asked softly, crouching in front of her, his hand coming to rest on her knee.
Isabelle smiled, small and careful.
"Yeah," she lied. "It’s just a few days."
Max’s gaze didn’t move from her face. He was too good at reading her now — too good at seeing the spaces between what she said and what she meant.
"You’re dreading it."
It wasn’t a question.
She let out a quiet breath and looked down into her tea.
"They mean well," she said, which wasn’t really true. "They just... expect things. And it’s always a lot. No matter how much I do, it never feels like enough."
Max reached for her hand. He held it carefully, like it might crumble if he wasn’t gentle.
"You don’t have to do it all," he said. "You can say no."
Her throat tightened. "Not with them. You know that."
He didn’t argue.
Just brushed his thumb over her knuckles.
"You want me to stay?"
The words were so quiet she almost missed them.
Her eyes shot up to his, wide and startled. "What?"
Max smiled — soft, knowing. "I’d stay. If you asked."
And oh, she wanted to. God, she wanted to.
But she couldn’t be the reason he missed his family.
The one that actually showed up. The one that divided the work. The one that loved him without conditions.
"You should go," she whispered. "They’ll be waiting."
Max nodded, though his hand didn’t let go of hers right away.
"You text me," he said firmly. "Whenever you need to. If it gets too much. If you just want to vent. Anything."
Isabelle nodded. "I will."
Max leaned in, kissed her forehead — slow and lingering — then pressed his mouth to her temple, like he was trying to pass all his steadiness into her through the skin.
"You come to me the moment you need a break, okay?"
"Okay," she whispered.
And then he was gone — suitcase in hand, footsteps echoing down the hall, the door clicking shut behind him.
She sat in the quiet, tea still untouched, the weight of the upcoming holiday settling back over her like a too-heavy coat.
A few days.
She could survive a few days.
Even if it meant smiling through disappointment.
Even if it meant being everyone’s glue while no one held her together.
She stared at the blinking Christmas lights, silent and still, and braced herself.
***
The pet carrier sat on the passenger seat, tiny but somehow loud, the small bundle inside meowing indignantly every few seconds.
"I know, I know," Isabelle murmured, glancing over as she pulled into the underground parking. "Almost there, little one. Just hold on."
The breeder had handed her the kitten that morning, wrapped up in a soft blanket, small and wriggling and so full of attitude that Isabelle had immediately thought, Yes. You’re perfect for us.
A Bengal — fiery little spirit, spotted coat shining under the winter sun, with eyes so impossibly blue they hardly looked real.
Max was going to lose his mind.
She smiled to herself as she carried the carrier carefully up the elevator to the apartment. The plan was simple: keep the kitten separated from Sassy and Jimmy for a few days. Let her adjust. Let them adjust.
Slow introductions, every guide said. Boundaries.
She set the carrier down in the guest bedroom, heart pounding with excitement.
"You have a few days to settle in before Max gets back," Isabelle whispered, unlocking the carrier door. "Nice and quiet. No stress."
The kitten immediately barreled out of the carrier, straight into her lap, climbing up Isabelle’s chest like she was a mountain to be conquered.
Isabelle laughed, steadying her with gentle hands.
"You’re trouble already," she murmured fondly.
She sat with the kitten for a while, letting her explore the little setup — litter box, toys, cozy blankets. Everything ready.
Then came the problem.
The door.
She had just cracked it open to slip out quietly when two familiar blurs appeared: Jimmy first, then Sassy, both clearly having heard the new sounds and smells.
Sassy sat elegantly just outside the threshold, blinking slowly. Jimmy practically vibrated with excitement, already chirping.
"Not yet," Isabelle whispered. "You’re supposed to meet her later, carefully, slowly—"
The kitten, of course, had other plans.
Before Isabelle could stop her, she wobbled toward the door on still-clumsy legs, let out one fierce little meow, and plopped herself directly in front of Sassy.
For a split second, Isabelle panicked, heart racing.
And then—
Sassy lowered her head slowly, gave the kitten a long, inspecting sniff... and purred.
Isabelle blinked.
Jimmy, emboldened, bounded forward and nudged the kitten with his nose.
The kitten immediately batted at Jimmy’s ear, clearly delighted, and Jimmy flopped onto his side with a happy trill, inviting her to climb all over him.
Isabelle stood frozen, watching her careful, responsible plan unravel in real time — and somehow turn into magic.
The kitten was already nuzzling into Sassy’s side, purring like a tiny engine.
Jimmy rolled onto his back, paws waving playfully in the air.
There was no hissing. No swatting. No stress.
Just acceptance.
Immediate, unquestioning.
A soft lump rose in Isabelle’s throat.
They already loved her.
No slow introductions needed. No hesitation.
Just home.
Isabelle knelt down carefully, heart full to bursting, and whispered:
"Well. That was easy."
The kitten squeaked and headbutted her hand.
Jimmy chirped again.
Sassy blinked at her like, obviously.
Isabelle laughed, feeling lighter than she had in weeks.
Within minutes, the kitten was curled up between Sassy and Jimmy, purring so loudly her tiny body vibrated.
Belle pressed her hand to her chest, overwhelmed by how right it all felt.
Max was going to lose his mind. In the best way.
She snapped a quick photo — Jimmy snoring, the kitten sprawled across his paw, Sassy watching them both with regal approval — and saved it carefully.
Not sending it yet.
Wanting Max to be surprised in person.
This — this little chaotic, purring pile of love — was the Christmas she wanted to give him.
Home.
Family.
Peace.
Exactly what he deserved.
Exactly what they deserved.

The house was warm with the scent of cinnamon and pine, the soft hum of holiday music playing in the background. Wrapping paper littered the floor as Victoria’s two-year-old son toddled between family members, showing off his new toy car, while her boyfriend sat on the couch, trying (and failing) to assemble a playset.
Max sat beside his mother, watching the scene unfold, a rare moment of quiet as the chaos of Christmas morning settled. He reached into the pile of gifts beside him and pulled out a simple, tasteful gift bag.
“Here,” he said, holding it out to Victoria. “This is from Isabelle.”
Victoria looked up from where she was helping her son unwrap another gift. “Isabelle got me something?”
Max shrugged like it was no big deal. “Well, technically for the baby.”
Victoria’s expression softened, and she took the bag, carefully peeling back the tissue paper. Inside was a collection of delicate baby clothes—soft cotton onesies, tiny knitted socks, and an elegant, hand-stitched blanket in muted pastels. She pulled out a small note tucked inside.
For your little girl, with love – Belle.
Victoria stared at it for a long moment before shaking her head with a fond smile. “Max.”
“What?”
She looked up at him, her eyes full of something knowing. “You know I love her, right?”
Max exhaled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “I figured.”
“No, I mean it,” Victoria pressed. “She’s… she’s perfect for you.”
Their mother, who had been watching quietly, nodded in agreement. “She is.”
Victoria placed the baby blanket back in the bag, then met Max’s eyes again. “You should marry her.”
Max blinked, feeling his heart stutter for just a second. He didn’t say anything at first, just rolled the thought over in his mind—something he had already done a lot lately.
His silence didn’t go unnoticed. Victoria’s gaze sharpened. “Oh my God. You have been thinking about it.”
Max exhaled through his nose, leaning back against the couch. “I mean… yeah.”
Victoria lit up like a Christmas tree. “Max!”
Their mother smiled knowingly. “You love her.” It wasn’t a question.
Max ran a hand through his hair, a little overwhelmed but not denying it. “I do.”
“So what’s stopping you?” Victoria pressed.
Max sighed, shaking his head. “Nothing, really. I just—I want to do it right.”
Victoria hummed. “Meaning?”
“Meaning I don’t want her to feel like it’s rushed. Or that I’m just asking because things are good now, but I haven’t thought about what comes after.” He hesitated. “I know what comes after. And I still want it.”
Victoria’s expression softened even more. “That’s kind of the whole point of marriage, Max.”
“I know.” He ran a hand through his hair. “It’s just… I don’t want her to doubt it, even for a second.”
Victoria gave him a long look, then smiled. “She won’t.”
Max exhaled, rubbing at the tension in the back of his neck. “She might. Her family—”
“Is a mess,” Victoria finished for him. “Yeah, I know. But that’s exactly why she’ll believe you. You’re showing her something different. Stability. Love. Someone who actually puts her first.”
Max swallowed, something tight in his throat. “Yeah.”
Victoria smirked. “Also, I’d pay good money to see Charles’ face when you tell him.”
Max let out a short laugh, shaking his head. “Yeah, that’ll be… something.”
“You should do it at a race weekend. Really put him on the back foot.”
“Victoria.”
“What? It’d be funny.”
Max rolled his eyes, but there was no real annoyance behind it. His sister had a point, even if she was enjoying the idea of Charles' reaction a little too much.
After a moment, Victoria nudged him with her foot. “So? You gonna do it?”
Max sighed, but there was a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Yeah,” he said finally. “I think I am.”

Christmas with the Leclercs had always been... complicated.
Isabelle wasn’t naïve enough to expect magic anymore.
Not after years of being an afterthought.
Not after years of achievements brushed aside in favor of louder, brighter celebrations for her brothers.
Still— Some small, stubborn part of her had hoped this year would be different.
She had spent days picking out gifts — careful, thoughtful gifts — ones that showed she knew them, that she cared. A rare edition of sneakers from a brand Arthur loved. A custom wine set for Lorenzo. A framed photo restoration for her mother. A new golf carry bag for Charles, with his initials embroidered onto it.
Things that mattered.
And in return?
A wall calendar from her mother. (Dogs in silly costumes. Not even horses. Not even cats. Nothing she liked. The tag read simply: "For your office, so you can keep better track of things. Love, Maman.")
A gift card to a random electronics store she never shopped at from Lorenzo.
A keychain shaped like a tire from Charles. ("Because you’re a Leclerc too, Isabelle, you’re part of the racing spirit, right?")
And then from Arthur, the piece de resistance: A crop top. Tight. Neon pink. (“Saw it on sale and thought — this is way more fun than all the beige you wear!”)
Gifts that said: We don’t know you. We didn’t try.
Isabelle kept her smile pinned in place all through the day, all through the polite clinking of glasses and the endless, thoughtless chatter.
She had smiled, folded it carefully, and said thank you.
Because that’s what she always did.
Be the good gril. The grateful quiet sister. Regardless of how much it hurt.
Still, as soon as she could go…
Belle went home.
The door clicked shut behind her with a final, hollow sound.
The apartment was silent except for the soft pad of paws across hardwood.
The kitten darted toward her first, meowing indignantly. Jimmy and Sassy followed, blinking sleepily from their place curled up on the couch.
Isabelle dropped her keys on the counter.
Kicked off her shoes.
She made it three steps toward the living room before her legs gave out.
She sank to the floor — cold against the wood — and buried her face in her hands.
The tears came fast. Hot. Helpless.
Not just for today.
For all the Christmases before it.
For all the years spent trying to earn a place she should’ve already had.
She didn't sob.
No messy gasps for air.
Just silent, shaking tears that soaked her palms and blurred the world around her.
The kitten crept onto her lap first, purring loudly, headbutting her arm. Jimmy slunk in next, nudging her side with his nose.
Sassy stretched lazily, then trotted over and curled against her knees.
They didn't ask for anything.
They just stayed.
Isabelle curled into the weight of them — warm and grounding — clutching the kitten to her chest like a lifeline.
"I'm sorry," she whispered into his fur. "I'm sorry for expecting anything different."
The cats purred louder, blanketing her in their soft, unbothered love.
Somewhere deep down, she knew Max would be home in a few days. He would take one look at her, see right through her smile, and pull her into his arms without asking any questions.
He always did.
But for now— It was just her. And them.
And maybe that was enough.
Maybe it had to be.
***
The days stretched out, slow and heavy.
Max wouldn’t be home until the 27th.
That left her in the quiet.
No clinking glasses. No forced smiles. No careful pretending.
Just her.
And the kitten, curled against her chest more often than not. And Jimmy, draped dramatically over her lap. And Sassy, perched like a soft guardian nearby.
She didn't even turn on the TV. The blinking Christmas lights stayed unplugged. The gifts — the ugly, hollow things — sat untouched on the kitchen counter, still half-wrapped.
Isabelle moved through the apartment like a ghost.
Feeding the cats. Watering the plants. Existing.
And the thing was... it didn't feel like peace.
It felt like grief.
Grief for the girl who had tried so hard.
Grief for all the years she had believed that if she just did a little more — gave a little more — loved a little louder — she would finally be enough.
She found herself curled on the couch one night, knees to her chest, staring out at the glittering lights of Monaco beyond the glass balcony doors.
The kitten kneaded her sweater, purring obliviously.
Jimmy snored softly against her feet.
And somewhere deep inside, a small, painful thought broke free:
"I can't do this anymore."She whispered it aloud, her voice cracking."I can't keep pretending it doesn't hurt."
Her chest tightened, her throat closing.
"I can't keep loving people who don't love me back the way I need."
The admission shattered something inside her.
It was terrifying — it felt like giving up.
But it also felt... honest.
Real.
Necessary.
She wiped at her cheeks with shaking hands, breathing hard.
The kitten headbutted her chin, making her laugh — a raw, broken sound.
"I need help," she whispered into the empty apartment. "I need... someone to help me figure out how to stop doing this to myself."
The kitten purred louder.
Sassy hopped up onto the back of the couch and flopped across her shoulders with a regal little grunt.
Jimmy rolled onto his back and batted at her ankle.
Not demanding. Not needing her to earn anything.
Just there.
Isabelle closed her eyes, letting the tears fall without fighting them anymore.
And when she opened them again — when she sat up, cradling the kitten against her chest — she wasn’t thinking about the next Christmas, or the next gathering, or the next thing she had to survive.
She was thinking about tomorrow.
One day.
One step.
Maybe she could call a therapist. Maybe she could start small — just talking. Maybe she could start choosing herself for once.
She wasn’t sure yet.
But for the first time, she wasn’t thinking "how do I fix them?" She was thinking "how do I heal me?"
***
The second he opened the door, Max knew something was wrong.
The apartment was dark. Too quiet, except for the soft, broken sounds he couldn't place at first.
He dropped his bag without thinking, heart thudding painfully against his ribs, and moved quickly down the hall.
And there she was.
Isabelle.
Curled up in a tight ball on the couch, knees to her chest, face buried in a pillow.
Crying.
Not loud, racking sobs.
Not the kind of tears she could hide behind a tight smile and a polite "I'm fine."
The real ones. The ones she never let anyone else see.
Max's chest cracked wide open.
He crossed the room in two strides, crouching beside her without hesitation.
"Belle," he said, voice breaking. "I'm here. I'm here, Schatje."
She lifted her head slowly, her face blotchy and pale, her eyes swollen from crying.
And then, hoarse and desperate, she whispered:
"I need therapy."
Max swallowed hard.
"I need a therapist," she said again, voice trembling. "I can't—I can't do this anymore. I can't keep pretending it doesn't hurt."
Max didn’t say anything.
He just gathered her into his arms, pulling her against his chest like she was something breakable, precious.
She clutched at his hoodie like a drowning girl grabbing a lifeline.
"I can’t fix it," she whispered against him. "No matter how good I try to be, it’s never enough. I’m so tired, Max. I’m so tired."
Max kissed her hair, his hands moving gently up and down her back, trying to soothe, to anchor.
"You don't have to fix anything," he murmured. "Not for them. Not for anyone. I'm so proud of you for saying it out loud, Belle. I'm so proud of you."
She sobbed then — real, gasping sobs — and he just held her tighter, rocking her gently like she was something he could shelter from the whole fucking world.
It was minutes, maybe longer, before the crying started to ease, the shaking in her body slowing to small, exhausted tremors.
Only then did he notice the movement out of the corner of his eye.
A tiny, curious kitten stood perched on the arm of the couch, blinking at him with wide, impossibly blue eyes.
Spotted, fierce-looking, all attitude in a body that barely fit in his hand.
She meowed loudly, clearly offended at being ignored.
Max blinked, stunned.
"Belle," he said softly, half-laughing through the ache in his chest. "Is that—?"
Isabelle sniffled, curling closer into him.
"Your Christmas present," she whispered. "I got her for you."
Max smiled, the kind of smile that hurt because it was too full, too much.
The kitten — tiny menace that she was — marched straight onto his lap without hesitation, climbed up his arm, and flopped against his chest like she belonged there.
Jimmy and Sassy appeared a second later, trotting over with soft chirps, their tails high and proud. Like they were presenting the newest member of the family for inspection.
Max pressed another kiss to Isabelle’s hair and looked down at the kitten sprawled across him.
"She’s perfect," he said simply.
Isabelle let out a broken little laugh — the smallest flicker of something lighter — and Max kissed her again, over and over, soft and steady.
"You’re not alone anymore," he whispered against her temple. "You don't have to carry it by yourself. We’ll find you someone good. We’ll do it together."
She nodded against him, the tiniest, exhausted nod.
And Max stayed right there — one arm around Isabelle, one hand cradling the tiny, fierce little kitten — anchoring them both.
Because they were his family.
And he was never letting them go.
***
The world slowed down after Christmas.
Not in the way it had when she was alone — heavy, suffocating — but in a quieter, gentler way.
Because Max stayed.
He didn’t try to fix her with grand gestures.
He didn’t try to force her to smile or pretend she was okay.
He just took care of her.
Small, steady things.
Waking up early to make coffee before she even stumbled out of bed.
Filling the fridge with all her favorite food without asking.
Curling up with her on the couch, half-watching bad movies while the new kitten climbed all over them, fearless and bright.
They spent an entire afternoon sprawled on the living room floor, arguing over names.
"Sassy and Jimmy are named after Monaco clubs," Max pointed out, gently prying the kitten off his sleeve for the tenth time. "It’s tradition now."
Isabelle smiled — a real one, small and unsteady but there.
"Lilly, then," she said after a while, watching the kitten attack Jimmy’s tail with wild enthusiasm. "After Lilly’s."
Max grinned, reaching out to scratch behind the kitten’s ear.
She immediately tried to bite his finger.
"Perfect," he said. "A little chaos queen."
"Lilly it is," Isabelle said softly, scooping the tiny, purring bundle into her arms.
Lilly. Sassy. Jimmy.
Home.
***
Four days after Christmas, Emilie showed up.
She barely made it two steps inside the apartment before pulling Isabelle into a hug so fierce it knocked the breath out of her.
"You should’ve called me," Emilie muttered into her hair.
"I’m okay," Isabelle said, though it came out thin.
Emilie pulled back just enough to look at her, eyes sharp. "You shouldn’t have to be."
Max gave them space, drifting into the kitchen with Jimmy and Lilly trailing at his heels. (Sassy remained queenly on the back of the couch, surveying her kingdom.)
Emilie spotted the pile of gifts Isabelle had dropped on the counter — the ridiculous calendar, the generic gift card, the keychain, the pink crop top — and went still.
She picked up the crop top between two fingers, like it might bite her.
"This," Emilie said slowly, "is an insult."
Isabelle laughed, but it cracked around the edges.
Emilie turned, her eyes blazing now.
"They don't deserve you."
The words landed harder than Isabelle expected.
Not because they were cruel.
Because they were true.
She opened her mouth to deflect — to say it wasn’t that bad, that they didn’t mean to hurt her — but Emilie just shook her head.
"No. None of that. You gave them everything, Belle. Thoughtful gifts. Time. Care. And they couldn’t even be bothered to see you."
Isabelle felt her throat tighten painfully.
"You’re not asking for too much," Emilie said fiercely. "You’ve never asked for too much. You just wanted to matter."
The tears came fast and hot, blurring the kitchen into light and shadow.
Emilie stepped closer, squeezing her shoulders.
"You do matter," she said. "Just not to people who only know how to take."
Behind them, Max hovered silently, a plate of cookies in his hand, his eyes soft and steady.
He didn’t interrupt.
Didn’t add anything.
He just stayed.
Exactly what she needed.
Exactly what she deserved.
Later, after Emilie left with promises of vengeance and an ominous "Just say the word and I will rain hellfire on all of them," Isabelle curled up on the couch with Max, Jimmy, Sassy, and little Lilly wriggling between them.
Max pulled a blanket over both of them, tucking her into his side without a word.
Isabelle let herself lean into him, breathing him in — warmth and safety and home.
Maybe the family she was born into would never see her the way she wished.
But the one she was building?
The one that showed up — not because they had to, but because they wanted to?
That family was hers.
And she was enough for them.
Exactly as she was.

— stardust

the world is a vast place. in the grand scheme of things, humans are but a speck of dust; much like how you are sure you are nothing but a meagre speck of dust in the world he lives in, forever to be remained unseen. (if only you knew how you are the brightest star he'd ever laid his eyes upon.)
CONTAINS : gn!reader, 1.5k wc, royalty!au, contract marriage/marriage of convenience, fluff, smitten reca bc what would he be other than smitten, a little hint of bittersweet at the end if read between the lines aha...
A/N : ....i have a paper due monday. i havent started it. why do i do this to myself. (reca i love u can u not hear my cries and wails as fic after fic appears in my brain for u...)

Duke Reca of the northern territory; to many he is a well-accomplished noble, a young genius set for greater things, and the owner-slash-founder of the top theatre company. He is an idol — a role model to those who aspire to be more involved in the artistic side of the world.
To you, however, he is an absolute lunatic, the bane of your existence, and your contractual husband.
It's not like you had much choice. It was either: a) remain as a hollow puppet whose strings danced at your family's fingertips, or b) find some way to escape with outside power.
You, of course, chose the second option. Unfortunately, that somehow led to you meeting the young duke when out in the shopping district, trying to escape the suffocating presence of your family's knights accompanying you by running into a secluded alleyway, even if it was for but a momentary breather.
It was a whirlwind of a meeting... quite literally. Bodies flew; clothing tousled; breaths stolen. Well, at least for you it was like this. He, on the other hand, looked right as rain. (Lucky bastard.) You hadn't realised it was him at first, too absorbed in hasty apologies and the numbing bloom spreading across your backside like a wildfire (really, they ought to incorporate more padding in these flimsy clothes!), but when he uttered an apology of his own for not paying attention to his surroundings with an arm outstretched to help you stand, your mind all but blanked. What was someone of his status doing in a dingy alley? Didn't the newspapers report word of his self-confinement, having not stepped foot outside his manor in fervent preparation of his upcoming performance?
No, never mind all that; wasn't this a blatant opportunity being presented to you? An outside power that could help you escape the clutches of your family...
With gritted teeth, all sense of self-dignity was cast aside as you grasped his outstretched hand with both of your own, gazing into his widened eyes with your own narrowed ones.
"Your Grace, I know this is hardly the appropriate time nor place, but please... marry me!" Your words echoed within the enclosed space. Duke Reca blinked slowly down at you, and it was then you realised you never elaborated. "In... in a contractual marriage of convenience, of course."
"Oh?" he grinned, amusement and intrigue twinkling in his eyes. "And what is it you can offer me?"
"I..." Truthfully, there was nothing you could offer which would be beneficial to someone like him who had everything at the tips of his fingers. You were but a speck of dust in his world, merely floating and remaining unseen within his view. But even so, here you kneeled before him, his gaze wholly fixated on a speck of dust such as yourself. If nothing else, you at least had your desperation — a desperation to be your own person. "My lineage may be from that of a baron's, but I am confident I can be of use to you if you would permit it. So long as you accept my offer, I will do anything to aid you, whether that be through practical means or a performance you wish to see."
A beat of silence.
"Ha... haha... ahahaha!!"
And, as if things couldn't get any worse than a sore rear and disgruntled self, you were pulled out of your daze by a pair of gleaming carmine eyes, a maniacal grin, and his body, now kneeled just like you were, so very close to your own.
"That determination... how brilliantly you burn with such an expression!" The sheer glee which bled through his tone sent shivers down your spine, having never realised someone so esteemed had such a side to him. The duke breathed a breathy laugh and slightly backed up, his hands still holding your arms. "Alright, I look forward to seeing how brightly you will shine in your performance, my dear leading actor."
...Was it too late to back out and find an alternative solution?
Admittedly so, for the next thing you knew vows were declared and you were moved into the duke's residence. You could still remember your family's aghast expressions the moment you declared you were marrying Duke Reca and thus cutting ties with them. It was oddly freeing to see their contorted faces reveal their true nature.
Life as the duke's spouse was... something, to say the least. His servants and attendants almost seemed to have shed tears of joy at the revelation of their ever so lonely duke (their words, not yours) finally settling down and getting married, asking you questions such as how you both met, what drew you to their duke, who popped the question first, why you chose him of all people, so on so forth. It was... cosy. Something you admittedly weren't very accustomed to, but found yourself welcoming nonetheless.
One thing you never expected was for the duke to have a little pet of his own; a little toad dressed in a miniature beret and matching suit, at that. Assistant Director is what Reca had called her, and you think for someone so obsessed with the arts he ought to up his naming sense. She was also quite susceptible to compliments, something you discovered when commenting on the little toad's cute attire, with the duke's baffling translation of her bashfulness and her own compliment on your own looks. Apparently. You're not really sure, but you're inclined to believe it ever since she claimed a spot on your shoulder.
As the days-turned-weeks-turned-months bled into each other, you found yourself oddly lost at how well-adapted you have become of your new life and the duke's personality. From impromptu displays of affection both in and outside the manor to sporadic radio silence on his end when wholly consumed by his fervent passion for a project, you sometimes wonder just how you're still alive with the amount of heart attacks the man has given you.
But despite his... eccentricities, to put it lightly, there are times where you can't quite put a finger on certain expressions he would make when he thinks you're not looking. They're unlike his (once again, to put it very lightly) passionate eyes when rambling to you during mealtimes about an upcoming performance the troupe has; unlike the sheer mania he can exude when something truly sparks his inspiration; unlike the playfully smug grin he would give you when swooping down in dramatic flair to press a long kiss to the back of your palm; unlike the rare darkening of his expression that you cannot help but stiffen at when something or someone in the troupe doesn't quite match his expectations.
No. These ones are... soft. A kind of tenderness and unprecedented longing able to be identified if scrutinised close enough. It was evident in the ghost-like touches he would trail along your skin, as though afraid just a little more force would do irreparable damage. It was evident in the attention to even the most minute details, having everything from clothing to food to the decor suited to preferences you yourself never realised you had. It was evident in the way unadulterated fondness leaked through his tone when his unique terms of affection for you slipped through his lips when all was silent and you were supposed to be asleep.
"My dearest star..."
...Much like now, it would seem.
The bed dips by where your knees slightly bend, hidden under the beige covers. A familiar musky scent surrounds you not long after, and you find yourself involuntarily relaxing at the comfort it brings as your head further burrows into the pillow.
You want to stay awake, even if it's just for a second longer, to hear what he has to say to your less than conscious state. But, oh, his fingers threading through your hair and softly massaging your scalp and the gentle touch of his forehead against yours and the subtle comforting warmth that rolls off his body in waves does little to help you fight the sleep which easily takes over.
Oh, whatever! You'll just try and catch what he has to say next time.
Eventually your breathing evens out, only soft snores now heard within the large shared bedroom. Upon noticing this, Reca cannot stop the fond smile which lifts the corners of his lips, nor can he prevent the softening of his eyes as he continues to gaze at your sleeping form.
"My dearest [Name]," he whispers into the dead of night. Even now, several months later, he still cannot believe his luck to have run into you in that alleyway. It must have been fate which made him heed its call, urging him he would discover something sure to escape that terrible slump plaguing him for weeks on end.
Sure enough, it brought him to something irreplaceable; something he has been searching desperately for.
You.
And, with the tenderest of kisses pressed to your forehead that would put even the most sickening romantics to shame, he murmurs words of promise against your skin, an oath he swears to uphold no matter the obstacles which stand before him.
"In this life, I will ensure you have only the best of endings."

if you enjoyed this, reblogs and/or comments are greatly appreciated <33

Things I have successfully manifested into 3D
you can believe me or not. i really don't care. i'm in my idgaf era bc when you care too much about what others think, your manifestations will fail because you're giving your power away. that's my personal belief. i will put what came in the 3D and then an example of the desire i persisted in parentheses next to it. these are from various time periods, but all have happened within the past 2-2.5 years once i started actually getting the hang of it all.
four of my friends ("i have mature, caring, loving friends that love me for who i am")
three no contact friends that had drifted out of my life, not from animosity but i missed them (same affirmation + "[insert names] are my close friends and we are always talking" + "[insert names] and i have such a deep connection as friends")
exposing people in my life who were bad for me in some way: trying to use me, manipulate me, lie to me, or just were bad people in the sense that they were toxic and bad for my life because even if they were nice to me, the way they lived their lives were toxic immature messes ("all secrets and lies are instantly exposed to me, no one can hide anything from me, i always know. all manipulators and toxic people are instantly exposed to me for what they are")
job interviews ("every company wants to interview me, they fight over me, they all want me to work for them")
escaping my abusive ex ("i have a safe place to live where my ex cannot bother me any more. i am permanently free of my ex for the rest of my life and now it's my time to shine")
keeping my job when i should have been fired multiple times for attendance, about 5 or 6 times, i had a period of time where i kept repeatedly getting seriously ill, people were passing away, other major life changes and impacts etc it was like the biblical plagues fr and at that time, the company i worked for did not care when those types of things happened to others and would give them the boot in ways that were really messed up ("the people at my job genuinely care about me, want me there, and they know i'm not lying about my life circumstances and will let me get away with whatever i need to in order to heal, rest, and come back to work")
a glow up that changed me from medium pretty/medium noticed to having people in my 3D rave about my beauty and personality ("i am so alluring and beautiful. i am so interesting. i am so magnetic and charismatic. people love looking at me and talking to me. people find me so intriguing and mesmerizing. my beauty sticks in peoples minds like a work of art")
here's my thoughts on how i did this and what i learned about manifestation through the hard and good times:
i really had to dig deep into my self concept and get out of a lack mentality. the lack mentality, fear, and anger led me down a path of things getting worse and worse. my old self was very obsessed with spending a lot of time angry about how hard i was trying both in the 3D and 4D yet things were only getting worse. i had convinced myself back then that there was no point in doing anything other than the absolute bare minimum to stay alive, and that oftentimes there wasn't any point to doing that either.
i feel like i went through a trial by fire, tested again and again to see how strong my faith was, being tested by my own self. i had to find a way to understand my 3D and 4D from my own perspective, as the whole "you cause everything in your 3D, you bring everything upon yourself" was the most annoying mentality i kept seeing when trying to learn about manifestation, as i think it's a chronically online and privileged point of view for out-of-touch people who have never experienced things like systemic poverty, sexism, racism, SA, abuse and more. i was tired of seeing egotistical and narcissistic manifestation content creators go on and on about how everyone is them, and how everything revolves around what they think is the right way to do things. the constant solipsism of victim blaming and lack of empathy for others. there is no right way. that is why i always say something is MY personal belief, not the standard or the rules.
yes i'm aware i keep talking shit on here. and i'm doing so because the vast majority of manifestation content had me so in a tizzy with how hypocritical and contradictory it was that it made me go nuts just trying to follow along. i'm not the type of person that can go along with woowoo shit that makes no logical sense. that's just not me. i am deeply spiritual but also deeply scientific. i believe manifestation, creation, whatever you want to call it, has to do with quantum physics and quantum entanglement, but that's for another post.
you really can create anything you want in your 3D as long as you make it be in a way that makes sense to YOU. for example, i personally choose not to manifest money in ways that seem over the top to me. i grew up in poverty and so affirming things like "i'm so rich, i'm a millionaire, i'm one of the wealthiest people in the world" was so annoying to me because i'm an anti-capitalist and i'd rather spend my time manifesting jobs and opportunities than try to convince myself that i'm a millionaire when i think rich people are inherently evil by nature, because through capitalism the only way you can get rich is by exploiting the less fortunate. that's an example of how i see things.
i don't dislike goddard's work, and i do truly find some of his work very useful and enlightening, i just wish so many people would stop trying to treat him like a cult leader or messiah. he didn't invent manifestation or the law of assumption. these things have been present in every single religion since the beginning of time. it's just new age rebranding of ancient cultures across the world. it's taking a bunch of different cultures and cherry picking them and putting them together to make money. it's like saying L Ron Hubbard invented the idea of reincarnation and that Gerald Gardener invented witchcraft. not saying that everyone who likes/follows the teachings of goddard do this, but from what i've seen in my personal life, many do. the power doesn't come from goddard, it comes from you. and you would have figured out that power anyways even if you never read goddard. we have been manifesting/creating since time immemorial and it's how our species evolved in general. that's my personal opinion. like i said, i find some of goddard's work very helpful and strongly resonates with me, but i think too many newbies get caught up in him like a cult leader and don't truly have any faith in themselves.
my issue in my old self was that i had no faith in myself OR in anyone else. i got tired of doing vaunts, scripting, void state, shifting, writing things down 99 times backwards and forwards, all those other things. it just got annoying and felt like i was being a psycho like jack on the shining writing "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" over and over. it was just turning into madness instead of me facing what my real problems back then were. and i see a lot of that on here and other sites. you have to be able to get over yourself and grow up. i learned that the hard way, and i'm being harsh in some of what i'm saying to hopefully "break the glass" of illusion on anyone who may be struggling with the same things i did. i am no point of authority or leader of any kind, i just want to share how i think and what worked for me.
i am going to be posting some affirmations and tips that have to do with wavering, persistence, 3D vs 4D etc. and I honestly don't like to use a lot of the buzzwords but what I call these things is very private to me and it will be easier for others to read and understand if i just use the buzzwords. thanks xoxoxo

Heartslabyul
continuation of my other post cuz I have motivation now. Kinda changed ur personality a bit, URE a boss now
Continuation of this
Tw: stalking, yandere themes , mentions of blood, hate comments online, slight manipulation(?),
RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS
Before you properly formed a friendship with Yuu, you never interacted with him. Not that you wanted to anyway, he was too strict for you and it was clear you two wouldn't get along with each other.
Of course, you two sometimes caught glimpses of each other in the hallways and library, but neither you or Riddle were interested to chat.
You heard stories of him and his overblot, and you did feel slight sympathy for the man. After all, it wouldn't easy overblotting and dealing with the aftermath. You just hoped he'd recover and everything would go back to the normal and mundane school days like before. This was the farthest your nonexistent relationship with Riddle went.
As you and Yuu became closer though, you heard a few passing whispers on how Riddle became prone to lashing out at others more often. Something about Yuu not attending his tea parties again? Although he did make up for it by properly apologizing, it did cause the students of the Heartslabyul dorm to be cautious of him again.
It was a small break in between classes, and you just kinda wanted a few minutes of being by yourself. Absolutely nothing can compare to the comfort of solitude. You were holding a few books from the library, wanting to catch up more on Trein's history lesson.
You were enjoying the peace and quiet until—
"Don't you ever attempt to act this foolishly in my presence again! Off with your head!" The familiar redhead raised his magic pen and summoned a collar that chained itself around the necks of two students. He crossed his arms, "Maybe this will teach you how to behave as a proper human being, rather than some uncivilized bufoon-" He interrupted himself as he caught sight of your figure down the hall.
Noticing his distracted state, the two students scurried off. Riddle's gaze darkened immensely as he marched towards you. You were not sure if his anger was directed to you or someone else. Your head quickly whipped around if anyone else was the cause for his darkened stare. By the time you looked back at him, he was already right in front of you.
"Do you really assume that the Prefect actually holds the slightest bit of interest towards someone like you?" He spoke, tone dripping with malice.
"Excuse me..?"
"You don't even hold a candle to the Prefect, so don't even bother attempting to do any more damage than you already have done." As expected of the housewarden of Heartslabyul, always so stern and strict...
"Why are you speaking for them? It's clear that if the Prefect didn't want to form a friendship with me then they wouldn't have. You're acting as if I'm forcing them to be friends with me."
"Don't speak back to me." His anger flaring up once again. "I am in a much higher position than you are, and I command you to never speak or even be near to the Prefect ever again!"
Your gaze hardens the more he speaks, "Using your position to force someone to never speak to their friend again because someone can't contain their sensitive feelings? And I thought a Housewarden should know better than to abuse their power."
Riddle's face turned to shock as his voice was hitched in his throat, not finding the ability to speak. You took this as a sign to walk away, the power Riddle held was more than anything you could ever achieve. You were lucky he didn't immediately blow up on you.
~~
Riddle was stunned.
He wasn't used to anyone holding their ground against him. Of course, there were times that it did happen (ace—ahem) but this was different. The fact they didn't seem the slightest bit scared of him intrigued him. Their hardened gaze never faltered, and their words remained sharp and steady.
Huh.
Maybe the Prefect was on to something. He was starting to see the appeal. After his anger had cooled and he started going about his regular schedule , the image of you standing your ground against him just never left his mind.
He stalked observed you from afar and was able to see different parts of you that he wanted to explore. That day when you argued with him was only one side of you that you showed to him. Your playful side, serious side, quiet side, and so many more.
His preferences never left the Prefect, but somehow, your enigmatic personality draws him in.
Riddle describes you as a rose. The deep red petals mesmerizing his mind, reminding him of every single part of you that he has yet to explore. His hand would grip the stem tighter, the thorns prickling at his fair skin. The blood would stain his pristine white clothing, but he wouldn't care. If it meant that he gained more time to take in your hypnotizing beauty, then what was there to lose?
CATER DIAMOND
Cater always rubbed you the wrong way.
His smiles never reached his eyes, the boisterous personality he expresses definitely felt off. Everything he did just seemed like an attempt to cover up something.
You never approached him before you and Yuu became close, you doubt you would be able to keep up with his upbeat energy without exhausting yourself. You did, however, stalk his account sometimes when you just felt like it.
There was this one time that Yuu mentioned Cater asking for your Magicam username. You didn't think into it too much because it could've just been him being curious or just for the randomness.
That was until your Magicam account started getting bashed on for absolutely no reason did you start connecting the dots. You had only a few posts that were all from last year and the comments and replies were just hating on you intensely
You couldn't think of anyone else responsible other than Cater. The intervals between his posts were usually 1-2 days long but there was these two posts that had a week long interval. It could've just been a coincidence, but that week was the same week you've been getting all these hate comments.
To confirm your suspicions, you created a burn account and checked Cater's profile again. Safe to say, there were multiple posts containing fake information and unreal images of texts between your account and his. He must've just blocked you from seeing those posts, that must've been the reason why you weren't able to view those on your main account.
The notifications from the haters (as much as you hate to admit) got to you, even if you didnt do anything. The comments stung. You hadn't done any wrong so why did it hurt? This caused you to be more detached from social media, your view of it dimming by each hate comment.
You ultimately made the decision to delete your account, afraid that if you waited any longer and your personal information would get leaked. That and you planned to confront Cater. You normally wouldn't resort to confrontation, but you refused to take the disrespect. Plus, you'd doubt he'd stop without someone stepping up to him.
It was around lunch when you, grim and the prefect sat together. They had to leave for a few minutes for the bathroom. You silently scanned the cafeteria, checking for a familiar ginger male. You noticed him walking right past where you were sitting. Funny how he thought he had the audacity to ignore you when he started an online bash against you for existing.
"Do you think I wouldn't be able to find out?" You asked, back facing Cater as he froze in his steps.
He immediately turned around, that same fake grin plastered on his face like tape. "Oh, heya!" He waved his hand. "Uh.. Were you talking to me?" He questioned, a slight quiver in his eyebrow.
"You're the one who started that online hate train for me, right?" You turned your head to face him.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"Don't act stupid with me. You're much more conniving than you present yourself to be." You stood up, facing him fully.
Cater hesitated to speak, "Sorries! But I'm not sure what you're talking about! But hey, send me a dm if you wanna talk more. Gotta go, peace!" He made a peace sign with his hands, before making an attempt to flee the scene.
Although before he could exit, a loud slap ran loud through the cafeteria. Everyone's eyes immediately locked on the source of the sound.
Cater's eyes widened as his cheek suddenly stung with burning pain. He brought a hand to slowly cup his reddened cheek as his eyes locked on to your serious ones.
"Didn't you hear me? I said don't play stupid with me." He continued to stare. "I wasn't planning to make this dispute a big deal if you had just admitted to me you did it." You took a step closer to him.
"W-wha.."
You raised your hand, readying to slap him again harder.
"(Name)? Hey, what happened?" The prefect spoke, sensing the tense atmosphere. Your raised arm slowly lowered.
"Myah, why's everyone staring at us?" Grim asked as he casted a curious glance at everyone in the room.
With one last look you shot him, you exited the cafeteria immediately with Yuu running after you. Cater still stood there, quiet. His hand still cupping his stinging cheek. His ears ringing as it blocked out the whispers that spread through the space.
___
Cater sat on his bed, phone in hand as he tried to figure out what to post. A few students had already posted about what happened earlier during lunch. Sevens, this was bad... Each letter he type was deleted a few seconds later, and each idea he had was scrapped.
His focus wasn't completely on his screen though. It kept flickering towards... you. You humiliated him in front of many, and almost outed him for what he did online and yet...
He wasn't mad.. no, he was intrigued. At first, he was mad that the prefect slowly gained the confidence to refute his dates and selfie ideas when they started hanging out with you. He thought your influence was the reason his relationship with Yuu slowly fell apart, his insecurities flaring up and blaming you.
One of the main reasons he sent a hate train to bash account.
But ever since he saw you up close, how he wished Yuu could embody every single trait of yours that you held. So maybe then could they be more like you— identical even. But even then that wouldn't be enough. He always thought you were this reserved and quiet kid who would never stand up to anyone unless the situation really called for it.
That entire dispute at the cafeteria changed his whole perspective on you entirely.
Cater started taking selfies with you in the background, some people even thought you and Cater made up. The hate towards you slowly dissapeared, thanks to Cater.
It wasn't long before Cater eventually swayed the internet into thinking that you and him were dating off screen. The rumors started coming in rapidly, after all, Internet celeb Cater Diamond had a partner!
Though, everything was denied by you personally. With you posting a statement that what the internet made you two to be was just a giant misunderstanding, and that you and him were nothing more than just acquaintences. Unfortunately, Cater's voice in the social platform held more power than yours ever will.
As you turned off your phone to focus on walking back to your dorm, a camera shutter suddenly sounds.
TREY CLOVER
Trey was... ordinary you guess. Sure, he was a great vice-housewarden and an amazing baker but nothing about him struck you. Unlike the others, Trey was laid-back and relaxed and never involved himself unless the situation called for it.
So you were confused when Yuu confessed that Trey intimidated them the most in Heartslabyul. You didn't understand though, he seemed nice and you never sensed any strange or even creepy behaviour from him to Yuu.
Yuu was invited to another Unbirthday party by those two freshmen who hung around them constantly. Unfortunately, the prefect wasn't able to refute their persistance.
"I'll go with you." You offered.
"Huh..?" Yuu looked up at you.
"I said I'll go with you. You're uncomfortable going by yourself, right?"
They stared into your eyes for a few seconds, "You'd do that for me?" They muttered.
"Sure, we're friends after all."
With that, you forced (even if you offered) yourself to go to the party with Yuu. You couldn't just leave them by themselves especially when you know how they felt around those boys.
As you walked, you immediately avoided making your appearance known. You'd rather drip dead right there than maintain a civil conversation with Riddle and Cater. Yuu stuck beside you though, seemingly more attached to you than ever. Of course, it was inevitable that Riddle and Cater noticed you two.
You excused yourself for the bathroom after asking Yuu if they'd be fine. You wandered around Heartslabyul, you probably should've asked for directions.... But oh well. As you continued walking around the dorm, you stumbled on a cute kitchen. No one was inside it currently.
Interested, you explored the space. It seemed recently used; with bowls in the sink, the mixers still plugged in, and the oven warm. It was clearly for the party outside and the one who inhabited the kitchen was probably still outside. That means you were alone...
A creek from the door you entered alerted you,
"(Name)?" A familiar dark green haired male entered the kitchen.
"Trey? How'd you know my name?" You asked, not remembering talking to Trey or even telling him your name.
"And how'd you know mine?" A small smile formed in his face.
"Well, Yuu told me about you." You responded.
"Riddle and Cater told me about you too." You observed a slight wariness in him as he spoke. You wondered what Riddle and Cater made you out to be..
Not knowing how to continue the conversation, "So... you bake?" You asked.
"Yeah, I do. My family ran a bakery where I'm from so it's only natural I'd also learn to bake." He replied.
"Do you... do you want help in cleaning the place? It'd probably go faster if you have someone helping ya." You offered, feeling slightly bad that you were leaving Yuu by themselves even longer.
"Huh? You don't have to trouble yourself really. I made the mess and I should clean it up." Trey started moving towards the dirty dishes in the sink.
You moved in front of him to prevent him from getting any closer to the sink. "And I desperately need an excuse to not go back outside at the moment."
Trey appeared surprised for a moment, "You don't plan on moving anytime soon, are you?"
"Yeah." You responded blankly.
Trey smiled, "I guess it would be better with company."
You and Trey spent the next 20 minutes together cleaning the kitchen. It was peaceful, barely any chatter was involved between you two.
As you headed back to the party, you couldn't help but wonder why Trey intimidated Yuu the most. He was nice and a hard worker. Immediately after noticing your presence, Yuu jumped in your arms and kept blabbering about how they were glad you were safe and unharmed.
You're not sure if that's what started it, but Trey has lately been inviting you over to Heartslabyul for baking sessions. You've started enjoying his company even more, his sweet tarts are just a plus.
___
Trey didn't understand Cater and Riddle.
Riddle made you out to be this insolent and misbehaving buffoon that had no place in a prestigous college like NRC. He also did mutter how you should spend more time at Heartslabyul so that you'd be influenced by their traditions.
Cater complained about you. How you almost outed him and humiliated him in the cafeteria. But then he also whined complained about how you kept ignoring him in hallways and his dms!
So it was no surprise that he developed a slightly dimmed view of you as the two continued talking. But he always avoided making assumptions, so he didn't just regard you as a douche right off the bat.
Color him surprised when you turned out to be so nice. You offered to help him clean and initiated a conversation with ease.
Trey felt a sense of pride that the nice side you showed him wasn't being presented to Riddle or Cater. Feeling slightly special that he was able to be friendly with you unlike the aforementioned two. You were so friendly, how could you ever be the same insolent brat Riddle mentioned?
He started inviting you more often than normal, even expecting you to show up without telling you. He wanted— needed to see that soft side of yours. That addicting smile you sent him every time made all the gears in his head stop working.
C'mon, don't you like baking with him?
___
Yuu has been discouraging you to go though, but you've always brushed their warnings off. You convinced yourself that you could always see through someone's facade, no matter how well they conceal their true intentions. It worked on Cater, right?
But.. you find it harder and harder to refuse his invitations. His saddened expression, his disappointed "oh..", and his guilt tripping remarks.
You really should've listened to Yuu.
ACE & DEUCE (it's easier for me to write them tgt)
Ace and Deuce were annoyed how the prefect suddenly distanced themselves from them. They were even more irked when they realized it was because of another person. How can the prefect just abandon them like that? The two were practically the first friends they made here!
In response, the two ambushed the unwilling prefect at random times and dragged them away to hang out together. That was when they first met you.
You and Yuu we're sharing a small conversation between each other, just the two of you under the comforting shade of a tree. The serene atmosphere disturbed by the two goofs who approached you two unwanted and unannounced.
"Prefect, we've been looking for you!" Deuce exclaimed as he stopped right in front of you.
Ace came running behind him, panting. "You couldn't have waited a few seconds for me you jerk?" He remarked as he caught his breath.
Yuu looked at the two boys Infront of them, nervous and fidgety. "Oh.. Ace and Deuce, what are you guys doing here..?"
"Wellll..... Professor Crewel gave me a really complicated project to make up for that test I missed last week.." Ace explained while scratching his head, ultimately leaving out an important detail where he intentionally missed that test cause he knew Professor Crewel would give him an extra hard project to make up for it.
"He's basically asking you to help him! And plus, you haven't hung out with us all day, so maybe this can make up for it!" Deuce eagerly spoke.
Sevens, these two boys are so hopeless... You remember seeing Ace wandering the courtyard the day of Crewel's test, and only conveniently making an appearance after the test ended. They'd go that far just to have an excuse with the prefect. Have they even courted an actual person before?
"You've spent too much time with your friend already, don't ya think?" Ace stated, not asking, stating.
"You guys can always hang out another time, right?" The two were persistent, you'd give them that.
Yuu fiddle with the ends of their blazer, not sure if what they really wanted to say would appease them. "Well.. I'm not sure if-"
"I know you're free today~" Ace tried to play it off as a joke with a laugh, which in return, came out more menacing.
"Stop it." You intervened.
"Huh?"
"Eh?"
The two said in sync.
"The prefect has been feeling sick. I'd rather they avoid coming into contact with chemicals." You lied, hoping they'd buy it. Yuu turned to you in surprise.
"What? But Yuu has been fine the entire day?" Deuce confusedly said.
"You're lying." Ace furrowed his brows.
"I'm not." You replied.
"Okay, prove it." Ace's irritation becoming more palpable by the second.
"Just ask Yuu."
Then all the eyes turned to the prefect, two sides awaiting and wanting completely different answers. They hesitated, but spoke with sureness in their voice. "Yeah.. I've been feeling a bit down casted today. I just didn't want to make it obvious.."
You turned to face Ace again, "See?" The seemed to have hit Ace he wrong way when his fists visibly clenched.
"Then you have to go back to ramshackle and rest immediately! We'll escort you.." Deuce offered, a slight red tinting his cheeks at the last part of his offer.
Ace placed his facade on again, "Yeah! We'll even cook soup for you!"
Yuu's conflict to choose between either you or the two boys was growing by the second. Normally, they'd just go along with what everyone said. That's how they have always been. But that was also before you came into the picture. "I.."
"They're fine with me." You said.
"You can stop speaking for them, y'know." Ace crossed his arms.
"What do you think Yuu?" Deuce asked, still eagerly waiting for Yuu's answer.
But Yuu knew who they'd feel more safe with, "I'm fine with them. You really don't have to trouble yourself with-"
"It's really no problem! I can take care of you the entire time while youre sick!" Deuce invaded their personal space and held their hands in his.
Just as Ace was about to but in, you spoke.
"The two of you either must be blind or just ignorant." You slowly pushed Deuce off of Yuu. "Can't you see that they DON'T wanna go with you two? Seriously, is it really that hard to read the room?"
The two were quiet for a moment.
"Oh yeah? And who are you to be talking for them like you're doin' them a favor?" Ace's expression darkened visibly.
Deuce cracked his knuckles, "For all we know, you're probably the one who's forcing Yuu to stay with them!"
"Right! That must be the reason why they even started hanging out with you!" Ace accused.
"Or have you ever considered the idea that they actually like me?" You asked.
"Oh please, the prefect could never like someone like you!" Ace yelled.
"You're not showing us anything to like about you right now, so I doubt the prefect could hold a positive opinion for you!" Deuce continued.
"Why should I present someone any likeable qualities when I want them to hate me?" You said.
Just as Ace and Deuce were about to retort, another voice barged in.
"Bad and tardy pups. I expect the two of you in my classroom this instant." Professor Crewel stood behind the boys, who instantly turned from mad to shivering.
You sighed in relief as the two boys finally left, glad their suffocating and persisting presence finally exited. You turned to Yuu who seemed to be staring at you with... Admiration?
They quickly shook their head, snapping them out of their trance. "Thanks a lot.. Im not sure what I would've done without you."
"Don't mention it." You smiled at them.
___
Ace dreaded seeing you whenever you were with Yuu. You always gathered all their attention effortlessly, he used to be able to do that... That's why he hated you. Some part of his mind told him that the prefect got bored of him, so that's why he'll try to get them back!
He'd purposely catch you at times whenever you were with Yuu, so that he'd attempt to impress them by humiliating you. Except... He'd always leave as the defeated. He even tried punching you, but he missed when you dodged instantly.
This one-sided rivalry started an addiction.
He had this rush of adrenaline whenever he argued with you, and he chased after that sensation by the second. Ace wasn't even sure if this was even for Yuu anymore. He was lost in whatever spell you casted onto him that fateful day under the tree.
You made him taste something that ignited a spark within his soul, and he'll forever chase after it.
Deuce wasn't the same case... Well, kind've bit not exactly. He wanted the prefect's attention, how did he achieve that however? He stalked observed you. You were the sole reason the prefect started this sudden change of theirs. How you captivated the prefect in such a short amount of time confused him...
In other words, he was jealous. Jealous of how easily you handled him that day. Jealous of how you could fight back without losing your temper. Jealous of how easily you enamoured Yuu. That's why he'll simply observe you from afar and copy your techniques!
But then.. he started wondering how he could impress you as well... He invited the prefect over to his club to originally impress them with how fast he could run. But when he saw you sitting together with the prefect, he started running and running— Heck, the winds were probably struggling to catch up with him— until he reached the end. He beat his old record, but he didn't focus on that.
When he saw that bewildered look in your face, something in him obsessively started planning even more crazier stunts to have you captivated and jaw-hanging as you stared at him.
That's right... keep your attention on him and him only.
