don't mind me just dethorning the bramble in my stick insects' cage because a CERTAIN beautiful old lady

managed to snag her wing on one and got stuck there until I saw and detangled her and I am not eager to repeat the experience!!
ALSO I finally managed to get a picture of the whole family as it is now :DDD

1 adult Indian stick insect, 1 adult Pink Winged stick insect and three Pink Winged stick insect nymphs at various stages of development
(I also have an Indian stick insect nymph but she lives in a separate enclosure at the moment and is so tiny getting her out would be way to stressful for both her and me)
#ik what you're thinking 'theyre just lines' EXACTLY#keeping baby stick insects is way too stressful man I'm constantly terrified one's escaped and I haven't noticed#thank god they seem to be growing quickly the biggest one's only a month old#and is way more chill than she was#mine#I love my adult pink wing so much she's literally ancient she's outlived her sister by like 3 months#her wings aren't meant to look like that but it's also not all from the accident#she's always had trouble foldng them properly and it's got more pronounced as she's got older#that's why it happened the thin papery part of her wing that concertinas out for flying isn't tucked away safe against her body#not that she flies those days are long gone although she was never particularly enthusiastic about it#hence why she's probably lived so long#live fast die young and all that#I love her sm#a miracle I actually managed to get them all in one photo#last time I attempted it I finally managed to get the babies settled down in one place in a little group#then put old lady down#and she literally ploughed straight through the middle of them#littlest one went flying#another just climbed up her leg and clung to it#ma'am they are your children or your nieces#they literally do not perceive each other as sentient beings I swear it's hilarious#sorry for the background it's the only surface they'd settle on#there's a tag for it isn't there#trypophobia#trypophobia tw#fr though it was so horrid finding her all tangled up#and she did not take kindly to me trying to help her#but she ok now 😊

OKAY so . So!!
If YOU are having a struggle finding the motivation to write your fanfic, call a hiatus. Not because taking the break is good, but because after announcing the hiatus, and telling everyone you're taking a break from writing, you could possibly get the BIGGEST burst of motivation/inspiration to write in existence.
(I'm mostly joking about that. Breaks probably are good but JESUS I'm tweaking out over here and it's the funniest thing ever to me.)
I've got. I've got a two week hiatus. Because it's good for me to not grind away at a story yadda yadda yadda I was stressed writing it stuff stuff yeah. I was totally on board with the hiatus 2 days ago! But now.
But now?? That I'm supposed to be ignoring the story and on break?
It's all I can think about. I have cooked up THREE separate plot points to follow including the next one which I was struggling with and I am cackling and cringing at the. The irony?? Would that even be what it is?
It's hilarious but I also need to take a break because it has been mooonnnnths of this story, and while I adore it, it simultaneously drives me insane.
#i got bored of tiktok and went “ok! what now? writing now!”#i slapped the table and snorted because IIIII shouldnt be wriiiiiting and its actually genuinely very funny to me but GOODNESS#thank you. beloved brain#for helping me figure out what to do next#it's probably the fact that people wouldnt be mad at me for a slower update#which means less stress#which means its easier to work#but GOODNESS is it painfully funny#anyway#im not actually that mas about it i just. mnh.#seeing too much Sebastian content rn to try and ignore my Sebastian x reader fic#ALSO STARTED GENUINELY CONSIDERING COMMISSIONING GIANNI AGAIN SHSBSKSPW#what an interesting experience this is#i dont think ive ever wanted to do something multiple people have told me not to do so much#just rambling!!#thank you for uhh reading if you did lol#I'm just exercising my internet given right to scream into the void every now and then#hm. no i dont think I'll tag this for it to get attention lol

every now and again i wonder why izuru assigned me hajime kin so damn hard it came true like how did this motherfucker know everything like that. and then i remember the section of my pinned post asking that people please not use the word "talent" if they want to compliment me bc i have a rough history with the idea of inherent talent. and how that is a genuine fact about me and something that has deeply influenced who i am as a person. and that that has been in my pinned post for longer than i've been a danganronpa fan. and i understand
#marzi speaks#having self-worth issues in middle school is actually just the beginning stages of kinning hajime hinata#it's ok tho i'm at the point where i've accepted this about myself. i lean into it now#like last semester. when we had to make performance art projects about a facet of our identities#and i chose. my own lack of a self-perception. because i straight up do not know who i am#i even used the fucking beach as a metaphor. i went to the goddamn beach at night. the whole vibe was dissociative and stressed#it was a GREAT final piece too i'm still super proud of it. but like goddamn i really. i really did that huh#head in hands. it was authentic#i STILL don't know what my deal is. i dunno what it is ppl remember me for#but shit my friends love me. n that's enough i think. for now#being friends with systems is so fun bc sometimes an alter you barely know knows you better than you know yourself#i still haven't spoken to izuru since then afaik. mfer came to my inbox called me out and fucked off. kind of iconic#but it still keeps me up some nights. how.... how much did you know#I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MY CRUSH ON KOMAEDA YET. HOW DID YOU KNOW

#also in that vein#the one roommate that I did know ahead of time—#—ok so like for context I bought all the furniture in my room from the previous occupant#and I mentioned in passing that the only other thing I was going to look for was a bookshelf#bc I brought all my books obviously#and anyway when I got home from work she was leaving on another errand#and then text me like oh I'm looking for a bookshelf for you#and then went to ANOthER STORE bc they didn't have any at the first one#and was asking me size and color and stuff#anyway they didn't have the size that I wanted so I said it was fine to just get a smaller one#bc like! I didn't want to be too picky she was going out of her way#and ofc I would just venmo her for it except I don't know her venmo yet#and I can't ask things like a normal person#anyway still a little stressed out by the whole thing like that was literally SO nice of her#and now I just have this one which is fine and I owe her 25 dollars#and also I was so tired by the time I came home and made dinner I just wanted to lie facedown and think of nothing#but instead I had to make furniture decisions and also feel guilty#but yes anyway they are being very nice to me but I am still stressed#the floors are creaky and every time I'm like walking around I feel so exposed it's so loud and I have this stupid need to make no noise

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐣𝐣𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐮 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞

jjk men headcanons + fics
Including : Megumi Fushiguro, Toji Fushiguro, Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, Nanami Kento, Yuuji Itadori, Ryomen Sukuna
.ೃ࿐
Megumi Fushiguro
Megumi isn’t the talkative type, especially if he’s tired but he knew he had to tell you he loved you and wasn’t here to just use your body. He would gently clean your body in a warm bath hen change you into his clothes as he would gently cuddle your sore body, treating you like a fragile peice of glass. He would allow you to do whatever and always have his eyes locked on your face incase you showed some sort of pain.
“Is everything ok..? Do you need painkiller? Are you hungry?” He’d ask softly. Overall he would definitely do whatever you’d request and after his errands you've requested are finished, he would probably endup asleep cuddling you.
Toji Fushiguro
Like Megumi, Toji isn't the best with words but he is great when it comes to physical touch. He would clean you up and bathe you in his warm bathtub and then tuck you to bed. He would gently massage your aching body as he would also praise you.
"You did so well for me, baby." or "You're so pretty like this" while giving your face soft and gentle kisses.
Gojo Satoru
After your intimate interaction, he would probably take a quick and warm shower with you then cling to you in bed for the rest of the night while also giggling like a child into your neck, feeling proud that he had intercourse with you.
"Can we get some snacks pleaasee" He'd while while playing with your hair.
Geto Suguru
"Since you took me so well.. I'll let you wash my hair" He'd say, knowing that he absolutely HATED it when anyone even tried touching his hair but if it was you? Oh he would be more than OK with it. You two would have a warm bath together and after he has cleaned you up, he would allow you to clean his hair. After that, he'd carry you to bed and snuggle up with you.
Nanami Kento
As we all know, Nanami is a pure gentleman (Maybe not during intercourse). He would ask if you needed anything like "Sweetheart, do you want some water?" "How is your back feeling?" and he would DEFINITELY apologise, "Love, i'm dearly sorry for going so rough on you.. I shouldn't have".
He would wash you up, give you massages and basically do anything you requested.
Yuuji Itadori
Him having intercourse with you would probably be his first time but he would be absolutely livid.. and exhausted. He would clean you up with a warm towel then quickly cuddle with you.
"i want to cuddle with you foreveeeerrrrrrr" He'd mumble and yes, he'd whine if you asked him to get you water or anything like that but he would cling to you if you went to the kitchen to help yourself to whatever.
Sukuna Ryomen
Sukuna 100% WOULDN'T be exhausted at all but he would definitely notice it after your breaths started slowing down, and your whimpering got more frequent.
"We shall stop now" He would say and tell Urame to setup a warm bath for you. He'd try to ease out all your stress by massaging your body and then getting his servants to prepare you favourite meal for you. If you were too tired, he'd feed you himself.
After that, he'd carry you back to bed and then watch you sleep. Not in a weird way though!!

Can I request for Shmilk with anger issues x Reader? Shmilk has a bad and Reader is here to calm him down and comfort him (Wether it’d be about Pure Vanilla Shadowvanilla mention? or something else up to you) If you can that, it’s ok if not, hope you have a great days!
"I can't believe him!!! HOW DID I FALL FOR IT SO EASILY?!!!"
"He's a fool to think he can just "talk" his way out of any problem, but it'll only get him so far. Next time, he won't be so lucky."
"...next time? Next time?!! THAT was the PERFECT TIME TO GET HIM ON MY SIDE!!!! AND I BLEW IT!!"
Out of blind rage, Shadow Milk Cookie threw one of his plushies with all his might at the nearest wall, but you intercepted it with your magic, keeping a protective bubble around it.
"You must be gentle and forgiving with yourself, master." You sighed, bringing it closer to you. "Expending your energy like this isn't good for you."
"What? Like you and Black Sapphire Cookie and Candy Apple Cookie are "good" for me?!" A scowl crossed his features. "I gave you three very. Simple. Jobs! And you failed miserably!!"
"Unfortunately, we're all you have left."
"...oh, what a pesky little liar I've molded you into, [Y/n] Cookie." He snickered, floating over to your side, jabbing a clawed finger into your chest. "You think I need your help?!! My fellow colleagues who've been sealed up are running freely, ya know. And once they have their soul jams back...oh, our revenge is gonna be sweet and liberating!! Then I won't need you for much longer."
"But until then, what shall you do?" You countered, not perturbed by his threats of discarding you. "Until they're finished fighting their own battles, what then? None of you are at your full power."
".....you're making me depressed. Stop that." His face switched to a deep frown as he took his hand away, no longer having any fun. "What ever happened to those sweet praises you were singing me? Think I'm not "worthy" anymore? Because you've seen me bested by that...that stupid altruist cookie?!"
"You speak as though you lost a great battle. Beaten, humiliated, almost losing your life. But...from what I saw, he only ever offered you friendship."
You didn't think much when you said that, but you had a twinge of regret as Shadow Milk Cookie stared at you coldly--as though you were Pure Vanilla Cookie himself.
"It was a pitiful gesture, a mere attempt to get my guard down....and it made me puke." Bringing his milk cream staff to his side, dark magic began surging within the blue orb. "I hate him. That stupid...little...."
You tilted your head. "Yes, he's stupid-"
"AND A TRAITOR!!" With a swing of his arm, the magic converted into a volatile beam of energy that struck a nearby vase, shattering it into oblivion. "He MOCKS me!! Parading around MY SOUL JAM!! And he thinks that all I want is a "friend"?!! What kind of idiot does he think I am?!! I only wanted ONE thing, and he couldn't even give me that!!"
His hair tendrils whipped around wildly, their blue eyes stressed and darting all around as he attacks something else. "That's fine. It's all fine!! I just want to see him crumble before my feet!! And I'll...I'll get...my...ghh..wh-what's wrong with me...?"
Out of nowhere, he felt his strength being sapped right from his body. A dizziness overcame him as he stumbled a little, using his prized weapon to steady himself.
You calmly went over to assist, and he tried to push back against it, threats spewing from his mouth, yet you wouldn't budge.
Eventually you guided him to the bed that was in the room, taking his staff. "This is what I was trying to warn you about. You're not back to a hundred percent just yet, master. I know you crave revenge, but...it's too soon still."
His silence was unusual, and even a bit scary for the unsuspecting ordinary cookie who knew of his might.
But you knew him better. You could see that even though he didn't wanna admit it....you were right. He couldn't do anything right now--not after everything he threw at Pure Vanilla Cookie and his friends.
He's been waiting eons for this chance.
And yet...he still has to wait just a bit longer for a better opportunity.
Throwing these tantrums and having you talk to him like he was some child wasn't helping matters, nor his ego.
You didn't know what he was thinking, except that he probably wanted you to get out of his sight right about now. So you slowly began to take your leave. "Victory will be yours, master. It's very close. Soon you'll reclaim what he took from you, and reinvent the world the way it was meant to be. I'll see if the other Beasts' servants have any reports of-"
"Stay."
"...huh?"
"Do I need to spell it out for you?" Shadow Milk Cookie's expression was grumpy, but not outright hostile, as he grabbed your wrist, pulling you back to his side. "What I said earlier? Just another little lie~ You're not as useless as those other two cookies. Don't tell them that, 'kay?"
To hear him say that was..quite endearing. You knew better than to question why he decided to retract his previous statement, considering that came from his anger, so you simply nodded. "Of course. I can always keep a secret."
"....can you keep another one?"
"Certainly, what is.....oh."
Slowly, you trailed off as he leaned his head on your shoulder--in a rare moment of vulnerability you never expected him to display. Not in a million, billion years. "Master-?"
"Just..Shadow Milk Cookie is fine." He sighed tiredly, closing his eyes. "I need quiet. All day they've been nagging at me...asking what my "next great plan" is. Those idiots need to understand it takes time."
You just hummed in understanding, finding it very peculiar that despite him bragging about having "everything" and not being "lonely"...why did he not want you to leave him?
Why was he confiding in you more?
It left you to wonder if some of Pure Vanilla Cookie's words perhaps rang true--that he's just lonely and that...maybe things would've been a lot different if he had somebody who understood him back then. All those years ago before the deceit and the lies and the gossip.
Alas, you were baked much too late to see what he used to be like. You were merely a concept and a pile of ingredients on the witches' shelf when he was the Fount of Knowledge.
In the present, your company was all you could offer. And he never admitted it out loud...but he appreciated it. He liked your maturity compared to his other two minions'; while they quarreled and bickered like children just to get a minute of his time, you remained dutiful and diligent in your work without the desire for validation.
Whenever you went around spreading comforting lies or exposing painful truths about people, he was secretly always watching and listening with delight.
You could have very well been a master of deceit yourself.
There was someone else, however, he found more worthy of that title--but he didn't want any hand in that. He wanted to stay stuck in his olden, outdated, altruistic ways, playing the "savior" and twisting his other-realm into something hideously bright and-
"Steady breaths, Shadow Milk Cookie. You're trembling again."
With a hitch of his breath, the Beast returned to his senses, realizing how much his claws were digging into the mattress beneath him. He could feel the anger welling in his chest again, but with your advice in-mind...that rage was mellowed out.
It's strange how simply breathing is enough to make such feelings retreat, at least for a little while.
"Feel any better?"
"..somewhat. It's funny."
"What is?"
"You remind me of a little cakehound. Unsuspecting, but loyal to the bitter end." He looked at you with an eerie grin. "I could just snap my fingers, and you'd lie, fight...and crumble for me, wouldn't you?"
"Well, you've helped me carve a new path for myself. Helped me see the world as it really is. So...I feel like my unwavering loyalty is a fair trade, no?"
He said nothing to that, but seemed content with your answer as he closed his eyes once more, leaning back onto you.
And you said nothing more, either, instead allowing him to rest.

Hi, I was wondering if you could do Zoro, Ace, Luffy, Law, Crocodile, King, and 2 Characters of your choice x Reader, where they and Reader are having a romantic moment and just when the moment is just right, something or someone interrupts the romantic scene?
ok, ok, I know, I'm really late with this one. But life is so chaotic that I won't even look for excuses hahah but I really liked your request. I think some came out a little less romantic? I don't know, I'll leave it for your evaluation. I hope you enjoy!
warnings were placed individually in each of the stories.
F!Reader x Zoro, Ace, Luffy, Law, Crocodile, King and Smoker (placed individually)
requests here | rules and guides | masterlist
Comments, reblogs and likes are greatly appreciated.
Zoro
warnings: mentions of previous fights/problems with an enemy pirate. Zoro is very direct with his feelings. Mentions of drinking (we have Zoro in this one, so it's kind of obligatory)
Another victory, another time to rest in some bar.
Taking the opportunity to explore the new island after solving yet another series of problems, you and your companions chose to stuff their faces - and especially Luffy and Chopper, fill their bellies with food - in a bar they found there.
However, something still stirred you. The encounter with an enemy pirate that afternoon and the way he had spoken to you still affected you. It still made you see your position on the team as shallow, expendable, unnecessary. It still made you want to isolate yourself.
"A dose for whatever's going on in your head." Zoro placed three small glasses in front of you and three in front of him when he sat down.
"What do you mean by that?" you turned to him, only then realizing that what was a full table before was now just the two of you.
"Everyone was leaving, some asking you to come along, but you seemed stuck in your own head." he explained and drank the first shot of drink. "Like I said, one glass, one thought."
"And what are you thinking?"
"That you stayed here because you didn't want to go with the wire eyebrow, of course." he pointed out, eliciting a light laugh from you. Little did Zoro know that, out of all the options you could have, Sanji wasn't exactly the one you were looking for. "Now it's your turn."
You downed the drink and felt the strong alcohol burn your throat, but the words didn't want to come out. It was too difficult to bring into the world an insecurity that, in your eyes, would be so dispensable in the vision of someone as strong as Zoro.
"Me again." he pointed out, seeing that you had remained quiet. As soon as he downed another shot, he started. "You let that shit that guy said get into your head, didn't you?"
"Can you tell me where he went wrong?" you asked and only saw Zoro laugh in disbelief. "I'm weak, I'm just a linguist, I can't fight, I don't have a devil fruit. What am I but dead weight?"
"Much more than you imagine." Zoro responded as if it were obvious.
"Much more? Only if it's much more of a burden, much more of a responsibility. I don't want to cause problems for anyone, I don't want to become a responsibility. If it weren't for you today…"
"If it weren't for me, you would still be alive and well, no one would let that idiot hurt you." Zoro seemed to be stressing about the subject and that became clearer when you saw him downing his last dose and the two of yours that were left and then remaining in a brief silence.
"I'm sorry Zoro, I didn't mean to…"
"You're important, okay? To Luffy, to the crew, to me." Seeing you look away from him, without much refinement or kindness, Zoro turned your face back to him, holding you by the chin. "I would face him a thousand times over if I had to."
"Zoro, what does that mean?"
You could feel the adrenaline rush through your body as well as waves of goosebumps going through you from the point Zoro touched you and before he finished the path to your lips, a loud noise on the table separated the two of you.
"It means I don't want you talking about yourself like that again, please." the ending came out more like a whisper than anything else. "And it also means that whenever you need me, I will protect you. It's not everyone's responsibility, you're right, but please let it be mine."
"Here you go!" Luffy sat between the two of you, practically half on top of each of your bodies. In front, a plate full of different types of sweets: chocolates, lollipops, cotton candy. Chopper was along, already stealing some pieces. "Today we know it was a difficult day for you and we know you like sweets, so this is a good thing to cheer you up. What do you think?"
"I think it's amazing!" You took a piece of chocolate, enjoying it as it melted in your mouth. "Thank you, you're amazing." despite leaving in a loud voice, your eyes went to Zoro, who just nodded and adjusted himself on the bar stool, pleased to see you happy again.
Ace
warnings: Ace and F!Reader have a casual, no-strings-attached affair.
The party and chaos accumulated on one side of the Moby Dick, it was a common image as there was no shortage - and often, barely needed - of reasons for the crew to get drunk and celebrate something. That didn't exempt you. With a good dose of beer in hand, you were sitting further back on the edge of the ship, just contemplating the mess a good few meters ahead, while the sea was choppy behind you, the cool breeze sending goosebumps against your skin.
"Hey, what's a pretty girl doing so isolated like that?" Ace leaned against the free space next to you.
"I just came to catch some wind, breathe a little." you explained, seeing him get even closer and stop almost glued to your side. "And you?"
"I just came to see a pretty girl." He placed his hand on your knee, caressing your skin, which was covered in goosebumps by the cool wind - and perhaps by his touch. "But seriously, is everything okay?"
"Of course, I really just came to enjoy the view for a bit." you explained, seeing him paying attention to every word. "I like to keep these happy moments in my memory, and besides, the night is beautiful."
"Yeah, I like it too." giving up the caress on your leg, he sat down next to you. "I like to think that one day it will be the two of us."
"What do you mean the two of us?"
"This celebration today. It's going to be about the two of us. About me putting you there in the middle, getting down on my knees and asking you to be mine and then, after a while, it's going to be the celebration about our marriage." he saw you laugh knowing he had surprised you with his brief proposal.
"And what else, fire fists?"
"The old man is going to celebrate our wedding, after all, he's the one who has to give the blessing. We're going to drink all night and then, after a while, maybe we'll be celebrating the arrival of our child, I don't know." he shrugged, chuckling at the very thought. "Maybe I went too far."
"For all of this, we need to stop being just hookups, don't you think?"
"You and I know that's not all we are." His tone of voice lowered, as if he was telling an intimate secret - which it wasn't - between you. "You know you mean so much more than just that to me."
"I know and I know you know it too." you turned around to try and steal a quick kiss from him, but were stopped by Ace placing his hat on you.
Gently, he hit the object on your head, removing your strands of hair that were a little messy and then, he helped the small hanging rope. His hand wandered from the object to your cheek, placing a quick caress.
"I love you, Ace." your voice came out as a brief whisper, a confession that was almost forbidden.
"I love you even more." he stole an almost chaste kiss from your lips, just to confirm the feeling.
"You should say that sober." you warned him and saw him walk away with a cynical laugh in him. Upon reaching the glass he had brought, Ace took another sip and offered it to you, who accepted. Water.
"I needed courage to come and talk to you about this today and I don't think drinking alcohol would help." he explained, placing quick kisses along your exposed skin. "So, no more hookups?"
"No more hookups." you confirmed, feeling his lips slide over your skin. "Keep doing that and I'm going to want you to get down on your knees and propose as soon as possible."
"For your information, I intend to kneel today." his kisses found the weak spot on your neck. "But you're the one who's going to be asking for something more."
"Stop that!" perhaps the distraction of his kisses prevented you from seeing Thatch and Marco approaching. "The two of them won't be isolated in this clump."
"Did he have the decency to ask you to be his girlfriend?" Marco asked you, who nodded, feeling his cheeks burn in shyness. "Finally!"
"Then there are no more excuses…" Thatch threw Ace over his shoulder and Marco did the same to you.
"Put me down." the fire fist asked, even if he wanted to, he would have let go of there.
"We need to celebrate. You finally got the courage." Marco pointed out while you didn't even make an effort to get off his shoulder.
It should have been a night for the two of you to celebrate the new agreement between you, but it was difficult to celebrate alone when everyone wanted to celebrate the fact that you were finally and officially together.
Luffy
warnings: Luffy is a cute fool, that's all. Ah, we have mentions of Luffy sinking into the water (poor dear and his inability to swim)
Damn, a thousand times damn. Why was it almost impossible to get Luffy to listen to anything other than his crazy ideas?
Most of the time it had ended well, but it didn't seem to be the same as today. Praying to any god that could help you at that moment, you threw yourself against the cold, turbulent water of the sea. Shaking your arms the way you thought swimming was, you began to dive awkwardly. A few feet below, you could see Luffy sinking.
With some difficulty, you reached him and despite being weak, he still remained conscious for enough seconds to see that it was you there. Sticking to his vest and using the very little you knew, you managed to pull him back to the Sunny and now the fight that was taking place throughout the ship was being contained mainly by Zoro and Sanji, leaving you not much to worry about other than revive Luffy.
Not finding many plausible solutions, you stuck your mouth to his and tried to pull out all the water he had swallowed. When you repeated the gesture for the third time, you saw him wake up spitting, while you were kneeling next to him, relief washing over you.
"Thank you for saving me." he began, knowing you would probably be furious. "And apparently you learned to swim."
"Desperate times call for desperate measures." you allowed yourself to relax for a brief moment. In the end, he was fine.
"The only problem is, I've always thought about doing it, but not right after I drowned." upon seeing the question mark that was practically drawn on your forehead, Luffy continued. "I always thought about kissing you. You're pretty, nice…"
"Have you always thought about kissing me?" You looked indignant, but quickly corrected yourself, letting the little secret you carried for so long slip out there. "I've always thought that too Luffy, I think I like you, more than just as friends."
"Can we repeat the kiss…" before he finished proposing, his calm tone was replaced by a loud grumble as soon as he was hit by Nami.
"You idiot! How can you let yourself fall into the sea when there was only one person who doesn't know how to swim to save you." she insisted, the angry tone clear in her voice.
Some of your coughs caught the attention of both of them, as well as that of the ship's doctor.
"You might have swallowed a lot of water too!" Chopper pointed out, stethoscope in hand. "I need to run some tests."
"Don't worry about it, Chopper." You tried to push him away, but soon you felt him cover you with a cloth.
"Listen to Chopper." Luffy asked this time, already recovered and almost dry, which was a mystery to you how he managed to do it. "Chopper, take care of her and as soon as everything is okay, call me, please."
Luffy had no social constraints that would prevent him from doing that in front of everyone, but something told him that it had to be special. Then he just placed a chaste kiss on your cheek and left. Now everyone seemed as lost as you had been the first time.
Law
warnings: sweet boyfriend Law. This has to be a warning because this man is amazing.
Before you even open your eyes, you can feel a pair of arms wrapping around you firmly, moist lips sliding along the contour of your neck. The warm quilting of the blanket against your skin also made you want to stay there even more. However, it had just been a break after lunch for the two of you to talk - and in fact, talk and without meaning to, or perhaps because of the way his fingers slid under the top of your head in a caress, you found yourself being dragged to the world of dreams.
"Looks like someone woke up from their nap." Law's huskier voice indicated that you weren't the only one to have closed your eyes that afternoon.
"Looks like I wasn't the only one who took a nap." you - even though you practically had to fight against his arms - turned around, just a few centimeters separating your face from his. "You look rested."
"And you look beautiful, even in your sleep." he stole a quick kiss from your lips. "Even snoring."
"Snoring?"
"Yes, the noise was certainly capable of driving away the sea kings that were circling around." he grunted when he felt the light, painless slap on his arm. "Okay, it was just a cute snore."
"A cute snore?" you pushed him in vain, feeling like you only gave him enough space to pull you onto his body. "Don't even think about it, Trafalgar, after that, you don't deserve it."
"Don't be so mean." his hands slid over your body in a gentle way, practically not malicious. "Don't I deserve anything?"
"Nothing." you leaned down, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"That kind of nothing seems interesting to me." he pointed to the other cheek. "Can I have a nothing here too?" As soon as your lips met his skin, the tattooed finger moved to another corner of his face. "And here, can I?"
"Since when did you become so sappy?" you continued following where he pointed, leaving soft trails of kisses against his skin. The last place he pointed was at his lips. "Do you think you haven't gotten enough kisses?"
"Not yet." He raised himself up on his elbows, just to reach your lips and take them for himself.
His hands soon tangled against your messy strands of hair, while almost slowly he allowed himself to explore every corner of the paradise that was hidden between your lips. There was no searching for contact, no mischievous squeezes or grumbling and moaning, just the two of you, tangled in a pile of sheets, exchanging kisses and caresses.
"Captain!" Bepo's voice reached the two of you before he had practically walked through the door. "I found you!"
"Would you mind knocking on the door before coming in!" Law's voice started low and ended almost furiously.
His hands, previously on your body, pulled the sheet to cover your body. Even though you were fully dressed and Bepo posed no threat, Law couldn't help the sense of protection that surrounded him when it came to you.
"What's up Bepo?" You said more sweetly, discreetly trying to get off your boyfriend.
"The captain is about an hour late for his task and Ikkaku has been looking for you for a while too." the bear explained. "And also, if we continue on the same route, we will come face to face with a giant sea king in a few minutes."
"And you just let me know now?" Law grunted, but the stress was short-lived when he heard your laugh, almost like an automatic tranquilizer for him. "I'll meet you in a minute."
Understanding the message, Bepo closed the door and left the room. Your boyfriend's face gave it all away: he wished he could stay there, but he couldn't. Duty called you both.
"I'm coming to sleep here with you today, what do you think?" you proposed and saw him stop fixing his shoes to look at you, a small smile lit against his lips.
"Please." He asked, making you nod. "Well, I warned you."
"What did you warn me?"
"Your snoring, now I have a king of the seas to take down." he laughed when he saw you mumble. The small pout on your lips was covered with a kiss from him. "I'll see you later love."
Crocodile
warnings: jealous crocodile, as always. Brief appearance of our favorite hawk eyes.
Some things started to make sense when you entered the large hall. As an assistant, you knew that part of the ball was just an excuse to attract some enemies while the other part was to find allies, investors or anyone who could make a relevant contribution to the Cross Guild.
Even though you knew all the planning for the party, you still didn't understand why a long, sparkling dark green dress appeared on your table a few days ago. When you saw one of the evening's hosts, you noticed that - perhaps coincidentally - the two of you's outfits matched.
Waving to some infamous pirates - with rewards that you lost count of digits - little by little you got closer to whoever had provided such an outfit for you.
"I see you liked my gift." Crocodile said as you stopped in front of him. Without hesitating, he took one of your hands and made you do a little turn. "It served as if it was made for you."
"I suspect it was actually made for me, am I right?" you accepted the champagne and with an almost malicious smile you took a brief sip. The two of you lived in a cat and mouse hunt between all the years you had been working together, your feelings for him were clear and at least on one day, you expected to be reciprocated.
"I couldn't afford to let the most beautiful lady of the night go unnoticed, or unaccompanied." He said and for a brief minute, you realized he still hadn't let go of your hand. The awareness of the act seemed to reach him too and in a subtle way, he let his hand fall to his side. "And after so long…"
"After Alabasta, after Impel Down, here we are." you concluded his idea, a sideways smile took over Crocodile. "Everyone begging to be at your feet again."
"I know I'm a little cold, I won't deny that fact, but…" he approached, letting the words come out gently and quietly, as if nothing mattered other than the two of you there. "I'm grateful that all these years you've been by my side."
"And I'm grateful that all these years you allowed me to stay. For taking me out of that miserable life." you just said, reaching out to grab another glass and handing it to him. "Here's to business."
"I'm hoping this is the last toast to business." He tapped the glass against yours, seeing your expression remain in doubt. "I hope our next toast like this, you won't be my assistant anymore. I mean, just my assistant."
"And what do you expect, Sir Crocodile?" you gave him space to approach, stopping just a few inches away.
"Instead of green, maybe you'll wear white. And we sure as hell won't have that bunch of stupid pirates." he pointed out, seeing you smile widely. He raised the cup towards you again. "So, here's to our last night of business?"
"Sorry to interrupt." Mihawk's voice reached you as did his brief touch on your waist.
"I hope it's something important." Crocodile's mild expression faded as he analyzed his business partner and wondered why he was touching you.
"I need your help, miss." he pointed out, turning to you. "An idiot who refuses to take his eyes off you coincidentally owes me a few things. Would you be willing to serve as a little bait?" The groan that came from Crocodile upon hearing Mihawk's proposal to you didn't go unnoticed. "It's just a talk with him."
"Alright, I can help you with that." you agreed, much to your partner's chagrin. You handed your cup to Crocodile and taking advantage of the fact that Mihawk practically covered you from the others' view, you gave Crocodile a quick peck. "Last night of business, okay?" the man just nodded and watched you leave with the other man.
"Mihawk?" he called, seeing Mihawk and you turn towards him. "Let him lay a finger on my girl and I'll have his head and yours on my desk."
King
warnings: cute, very cute. Kind of like OC King, but I can't help but write him being cute. Sorry.
Some companions respected him too much - you analyzed it as pure fear, but you preferred to keep the observation to yourself - however, King did not impose this "fear" on you, quite the opposite.
When you weren't carrying out any of the requested orders, you liked to take your time and observe him. How he seemed to have been sculpted by something that went beyond comparison, how he could be affable when no one was around - this Queen insisted amid acid comments that it was an affection directed only at you.
After a long battle and few scratches distributed throughout the crew, in a more private corner you can see him sitting, patching up a possible injury to his hand. Aside from the bandage and messy hair, he still looked the perfect vision.
"How can I help you?" the words spill out of you without giving you much time to think.
"Don't worry about that."
"That's kind of impossible." you moved even closer, assessing his hand. "It's a small cut, it should heal in a few days."
"It was a small oversight." He shrugged and smoothed the insistent strand of hair that fell into his face.
"Can I help you with this?" you asked and he just nodded, giving you space to work.
Agilely, your fingers reached the stubborn strand and began to adjust it back to where it belonged, that is, the braid that was almost part of it. As soon as you finished, you adjusted it so that it wouldn't fall into his face again.
What went unnoticed by you was how close the two of you were, about how when you looked down you could feel his eyes burning towards you, as they strayed from yours towards your lips.
"Thank you… I mean, how can I thank you for that?" his voice was no more than a brief whisper.
"It is not necessary…"
"I insist." he interrupted you, being graced with the smile he knew on your lips. What he wouldn’t give to let you know what that meant to him.
"A ride then." your answer sounded natural to him, as if the idea crossed your mind with a certain frequency. "I always wanted to see the world from above."
"A ride, sounds amazing to me."
"I knew." Queen's voice interrupted the two of you and you immediately moved away from his body. "I told you that this softie was only soft on you."
"Shut up." King simply said without even looking in the other's direction, his eyes following you to apologize and leave.
How did that idiot Queen feel free to interrupt - and even embarrass - someone so beautiful?
The sun was already setting when you finally finished your tasks for the day and out of everything you could have expected to find in front of you, on your bed, you didn't expect to find a small note.
This way, we cannot be interrupted. Neither on this note nor among the clouds.
I heard that especially tonight the moon and the view from above will be beautiful, not as beautiful as the girl reading this note. Would you like a ride?
Smoker
warnings: mentions of a previous incident, but we have no descriptions, just brief mention of it being traumatic. F!Reader is also in the Navy.
Even without opening your colleague's door, it was almost as if you could see smoke coming through the gaps. Smoker was stressed and that was nothing new, especially when one of his missions went wrong.
"Commander Smoker?" your knocking on the door didn't seem to have caught his attention that much, so you opened a small gap, seeing him typically sitting with two cigars in his hands. "I can enter?"
"Yes." he simply responded, watching you close the door behind you and cross the small space that separated you from his desk.
"Here are some reports from today's mission."
You placed them on the table and you could see him still sulking. You had been working together for too long to know that if possible, Smoker would always let his frustration take over the entire environment - and sometimes it wasn't even in the form of smoke.
"I heard that some stupid pirates gave you a hard time today." you pointed out and saw him just respond with a look, he really wasn't interested in conversation.
A small idea, more like a memory than an idea, crossed your mind and you decided to put it into practice.
"You seem tense." you stated and saw him sigh deeply as you left your gloves on the armchair in front of him.
Without even asking permission - if he didn't want to, you would have at least gotten closer to him, you let your hands slide lightly from his shoulders to the back of his head. It only took a few squeezes for you to start to see him relax. Massaging all over his shoulder and neck, Smoker slowly began to become something more malleable and accessible under your hands.
"Those idiots, if I catch those little shits." he grunted, turning his neck a little to give you more room to work. "And you still ask if I'm tense."
"Some things are impossible to go unnoticed." you let the laughter escape you, a comfort to Smoker's ears. "But you know, sometimes you need to take some time off and relax."
"You say it like you take a lot of time to relax." he turned around, seeing you stick your tongue out. "Some things are impossible to go unnoticed." he repeated to you. "How many nights did you sleep well after that incident?"
"Well, I guess…" you thought for a moment, now your hands were just resting on his shoulders. "To be honest? I think it was only that night that I slept there." you pointed to the armchair on the opposite side. "And of course, in the infirmary. Their medicine is good."
"Don't say things like that." he pointed out, little did you know but the idea of that night still gave him chills.
Letting the affection he had for you guide him, Smoker brought his hand to yours on his shoulder and pulled it, so that your face was level with his.
"I believe we both need to relax." he pointed out, his breathing practically mixing with yours.
"Yeah, we both need it."
You could almost taste Smoker's lips when the door ahead abruptly opened, revealing a panting Tashigi in front of you.
"Commander Smoker!" she started and then stopped, analyzing the situation in front of her eyes. "Do I interrupt something?"
"Don't worry honey, I'm leaving." you pointed out and you could hear Smoker practically grunting in front of you.
"What's so important Tashigi." he didn't bother to let go of your hand, even with the girl's presence, even with your body already standing behind him.
"The pirates from the last mission, someone attacked their ship and they sank, so the team that stayed behind managed to bring them in." Smoker jumped to his feet immediately, picking up the reports you had left on the table.
"You can go, I'll be waiting here." you warned without even waiting for him to ask. As soon as the room was empty, you occupied your favorite armchair and, as you rarely did, you allowed yourself to relax with the aroma of Smoker that still remained in the room.

my friends got me a RECORD PLAYER for my birthday and of course i am out of my gourd about it, but now i have to get records to play on it and i'm overwhelmed by options! obviously i went straight to the tiny record store near us and bought the first nina simone album i could find ("the amazing nina simone," they didn't have "wild is the wind" or "i put a spell on you" but beggars can't be choosers and nina is nina). however. records are $$ and our apartment is small so i have to be choosy about who else i can buy to go with her. and the thing is that a record player requires a whole ritual, it's not just putting the current song you're obsessed with on repeat, you have to:
decide on your album and retrieve it from the pile (once you have a pile),
remove the LP, which has a certain gratifying heft; you might give it a half-spin in your hands, like you are leading the album out on the dance floor,
rest it on the turntable,
unlatch the needle arm,
carefully move the arm over to the correct groove,
hit the little lever that lowers the needle, which always stresses me out because what if i miscalculated or didn't calibrate the counterweight correctly and it scratches too hard?
all this process means when i put an album on the record player i am physically engaged with it in a way that is very specific, and not every album will do, even the ones i love!
anyway so i am making a little list and telling myself i can buy two records a month. there are go-to classics on there (davis/coltrane, ella, billie, oscar peterson, fleetwood mac, paul simon, nick drake), and there are records i listened to on my parents' turntable when i was a kid that i find perfect start to finish AND suited to the format simply because of those sense memories (bonnie raitt nick of time, talking heads speaking in tongues, beatles rubber soul, rufus & chakha khan RAGS TO RUFUS which ok i admit i already bought on ebay it was $10 leave me alone), and there are newer favs that i think will suit (hozier, kendrick, doechii, the 1975 [SORRYYY not sorry][bangers]). anyway do any of you guys have a record player or experience with a record player and if so do you have a top five? again can't emphasize this enough this is not top five ALBUMS this is top five ALBUMS TO PLAY ON A RECORD PLAYER which is different in the year of our lord 2025, as i am sure you understand.

Thank you in advance!
oh absoulty! ive been waiting for someone to request the vice-housewardens, I love them sm (I'm excluding ortho from this). some stray a little, but i also think that with some of them this wouldnt be a real issue
i know nightraven is all boys, bare with me here chat
vice-housewardens would react to you being jealous..⋆⑅˚₊
word count:
warnings: small amounts of angst (feeling insecure or inadequate as a partner), a whole lotta fluff to compensate, kissing, swearing, teasing, slightly suestive in some parts
characters: trey, ruggie, jade, jamil, rook, and lilia
trey clover♣️
-would be so sweet and understanding
-wouldnt mind at all and reasure you afterwards very calmly
-doesnt even give you a chance to feel shitty about anything
-bakes you a little treat and lets you jst sit on the counter while he baes and tells you all about how much he only has eyes for you
when you agreed to acompany trey and riddle to their hometown over a break, you hadent imagined that youd run into a childhood friend of theirs. a girl that helped around with them a lot, and grew up with them. at first it was fine.. until she started putting her hand on treys shoulder, hitting his arm a lot, fluttering her eyelashes at him.. and than suddenly it wasent ok.
you now sat fumming in the corner of his family owned bakery, muchning on a pastry he had made just for you- but sudenly the sweet taste of the berries tasted bitter as you watched their childhood friend attemt to kekindle an old grade-school crush.
riddle leaned agasnt the wall next to you, a smirk placed on his lips as his arms crossed over his chest. you glared up at him before he could even speak, "imma stop you right there riddle.. im- im fine." he looked like he was about to laugh hysterically at your red face, "you look as red as i usually do. she really got under your skin that much prefect?"
as you continued to glare daggers at their childhood friend, you didnt even noticed trey glance at you. he quickly noticed that you seemed annoyed adn asked her to leave, with much resistance she fianlly left. only then did you relize him appraching you, "you seem upset love.." he smiled softly at you.
you let out a small huff, leaning foward to bury your face in his chest, "you know im not mad at you..". you leaned more into him as you felt his chest rumbling with hims humming, his fingers laced into your hair, soothing you so quickly it was stupid.
you lifted your head to look at him, gazing into his eyes, "you owe me so many pastries for that very stressful experience, clover". he leaned down and pecked your nose, mumbling against your skin, "whatever youd like from me, i will give my dear."
ruggie bucchi🍂
-is so oblivious to anything initaially
-takes the flirting straight to his ego (until jack slaps him on the back of the head and tells him to go comfort his partner)
-trys to apologize profusley with gifts and all sorts
you were sat in the bleachers, watching another spell drive game that ruggie had asked you to watch. you were sat with ace, duece, and grimm as you witnessed savanaclaw destroying the other team. your whole focus was on ruggie as he smiled and blew kisses to you each time he scored.
it was so dorky, but also so cute; minus ace gagging every time it happened.
by the time the game was over the trio went down to the field to meet up with ruggie, you searched for a while before seeing leona, "leona! hey, where's ruggie?" he looked down at you unimpressed, but pointed a finger behind him. when you shuffled to look behind him you saw a girl talking to him, holding his arm, and trying to flirt with him. and suddenly you understood why leona looked upset when you asked..
"ohh.. prefects gonna kill him." you heard ace mumbled behind you before grimm jumped up on your back, "ive been telling you hes no good henchhuman, he never shares his food with me.." you rolled your eyes at the glutton of a direbeast you got stuck with before grabbing him off you and handing him to duece.
you calmly walked over to them and stood beside ruggie, a blank expression on your face, "hey, can i help you?" as you slip a hand into his. you watch her expression grow sour as she rolls her eyes adn turns away from you both.
you hear him chuckle nervously before you even look at him, "baby, listen to me- shes a crazed fan.. i swear". you drop his hand and stand in front of him, crossing your arms over your chest. "no c'mon, dont give me the disappointed look" he whined, wrapping his arms around your waist and slumping into you.
you sighed and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, as you did you felt him smile into your neck before picking you up and spinning you around, "your the best partner ever, she doesnt even compare baby, promise". you giggled as he set you down, a small smile now on your face, "fine fine, but i expect you to get grimm food the rest of the month" you watched as his face fell and you knew hed never entertain another girl ever, even for his ego.
jade leech🍄
-he relizes pretty quickly
-plays into it for a while, but gets bored of her quickly cause she aint you
-teases you for feeling envious at all
-kisses you all over to make up for it
you were working a shift at the monstro lounge with the twins. it was an especially loudly and busy night because it was a friday, everyone was excited to have a few days off of school. so it left you working more hours than usual with floyd and jade, running back and forth to drop off drinks whie they handled food.
eventually azul told you to take a break because you looked like death. so you ended up sitting down in the back area of the lounge, sipping on a water. it was so peaceful before floyd barged through the door and almost made you drop your glass, 'floyd-" "shrimpy!".
you smiled at his antics, rolling your eyes at his volume. he crouched in front of you with a big smile, "you should wrap up your break.. jades with a girl out there~". you quirked an eyebrow at him, "seriously? thats all you got today, your usually much better with your bits floyd.."
he huffed and rolled his eyes at you before dragging you up, pushing you to look out the window in the door leading back to the lounge, "ah- floyd! seriously i just wanna take my break.. c'mon-" you got cut off on the view of a girl in a long dress with a long slit sitting at a raised table, seemingly flirting with jade as he stood there and smiled at her.
you could hear floyd giggling behind you, "oh~ shrimpys mad", you turned and glared at him, "go get him, and bring him here please" he smiled brodly and left quickly (such a suck up for drama). you sat to the side as you watched floyd drag his brother into the back room.
he smiled when he saw you, "hello, my pearl." you look at him unimpressed, arms crossed across your chest. floyd got the vibe and slipped out of the room, when he did jade stridded across the room to you, "why the face darling?" as he slipped his arms around your waist.
you quickly pointed a finger at him, "nu uh, your not getting out of this that easily leech". he tilited his head at you, "get out of what?" your blank stare in responce was enough to make him laugh as he retsed his head in the crook of your neck, placing small kisses up to your jaw, "i promise it was nothing.."
you sighed, lacing a hand through the hair at the base of his neck as he came to face you, gazing into your eyes before placing a kiss on your lips, "does this make it better.." he mumbled against your lips. you rolled your eyes, pulling him back by his collar.
when you pulled back you noticed he had a small blush on his cheeks, "now were even". you tried to walk back to the lounge with a smug smile on your lips, only to be pulled back by your wrist and back into his embrace, "your not getting away that easily darling.." he murmured against your jaw. and suddenly it was hard to remember why you were even mad..
jamil viper🐍
-doesnt even entertain the other girl, just kinda stands there with a blank face
-is disgusted by a person flirting with him that isnt you
-your not even there, or really aware, cause he just looks so disgusted by their presence you assume its someone annoying him
-your the reasonable one here
kalim had thrown another party at the scarabia dorms, so while jamil stayed in the kitchen and made a majoroty of the food you offered to stay out with everyone else and basically babysit kalim for him. so it left you sat in the lounge of scarabia with a drink in hand, sat on a pillow next to kalim as he eagerly chatted with dorm members about their classes and coming plans.
every once and a while youd see jamil come out with more food or refilling drinks, and that was your favorite part of the night cause hed come give you a kiss on the top of your head without fail. a small thank you for watching kalim for him.
but as you watched him come out again, you watched a girl grab him by the arm and pull him to her as she talked in his ear. you also watched a face of disgusted take over his features as he yanked his arm away and didnt say a word to her, retreating back to the kitchen.
you tugged on kalim cardigan sleeve, "hey.. kal.. whos that girl?" you pointed to her as you asked, he made a face before responding, "some weird girl, i dont really know her. or why shes here actually.." he tapped a finger to his chin in thought, "nah cant remember!" as he smiled at you before going back to his conversation.
you rolled your eyes and settled back into the pillows behind you, sipping on your drink. after a couple minutes you felt a familiar arm wrap arund your shoulders from the other side that kalim wasent on. glancing over you saw your boyfriend, you leaned into his side smiling, "giving yourself a break for once viper?"
he shuddered and stuck his tongue out, "i wish, no, some girl wont leave me alone" you almost burst out laughing on the spot, "i saw.. she seemed into you. you dont know her?" he immediately shook his head, "ew, fuck no. and she keeps following me and its gross." you laced your hand through his that dangled from your shoulder and smiled, "you cant even be civil and have a conversation to tell her to leave u alone?"
he looked down at you like you told him to curse his whole dorm(well shit..), "what? absolutely not." you quirked an eyebrow at him, "why not?" as you asked you heard kalim speak up beside you, "because shes not you prefect! he wont talk to anyone really that isnt you or if he has to" he gave you a smile and turned back to his conversation.
you looked back to jamil with a smirk, "your such a softie.." he turned away with a slight flush on his cheeks, "whatever.." you smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek, "its fine, i love it". he turned back and sighed, placing a kiss on your forehead, mumbling against your skin, "love you too alhabib.." (its beloved in arabic).
rook hunt🪶
-entertains it until he relizes that theyre actually flirting with him
-kinda just lets them talk it out than explains hes taken and goes to you
-messes with them for flirting with him in the first place
you sat in the cafeteria with vil, epel, jamil, and kalim, you were all talking about rehersals for the upcoming singing and dancing competition. you were too invested in the conversation that you hadent realized that rook was still missing until epel spoke up, "hey kalim, you had a class with him, do you know where rook is?" you watched as he thought for a moment and shook his head, "havent seen him since we left class, sorry"
it was weird.. he was never late, "hey im gonna go look for him, fill me in later epel!" you called behind you as you grabbed your bag and left the cafeteria. wandering the halls you kept your ears open, you knew your boyfriend was loud and it would be the first thing you could notice.
as you turned a corner you finally heard him in the cortyard, as well as a.. girl? peeking around the corner you saw a girl talking to him as he sat there with a blank face.. was she hitting on him? after a couple seconds you watched as he smiled and laughed at her a little, patted her shoulder and started walking in your direction.
you ducked behind the wall and tried to act as natural as possible. when he came around you called him out, "rook, hey..". he jumped a little adn turned towards you, "oh! mon cheri! how are you? come to look for me?" you crossed your arms over your chest at his words, giving him a skeptical look.
he continued to smile at you, grabbing your hands and uncorossing your arms, "why so cross cheri?". you sighed and explained what you had saw, when you were done you heard him laughing at you, wait- what, laughing? "oh my, you misunderstand. she was confused, she didnt relize i had you". you sighed, leaning into his side, "your lucky i belive you.." he wrapped an arm around your shoulder, tucking you close, placing a kiss on the crown of your head, "i only have eyes for you mon cheri"
lilia vanrouge🦇
-teases the girl for hitting on him ("you didnt know? im already married?")
-dismisses her so quickly its not even funny
-like jamil, your not even there or aware cause when you are he never leaves you and makes it atrociously clear your together
-hangs on you for the rest of the night saying how scary the other girl was and being a little drama queen
-i imagine him as being so attached to you that other girls hitting on him is just funny becuase hes so damn devoted to you
you sat in the lounge of diasmonia with sebek and silver, you helped them with their recent potions assignment. when they had finally gotten it you grabbed the book you were reading and picked up where you left off. malleus sat on his own chair, reading a recent book you had recommended to him. you normally be with lilia but he was finishing up running some errands and you decided to stay in the dorm and wait for him.
you didnt even hear him coming back to the dorm, the first thing you felt was a breath on your neck and you knew he was back, "hello my love.." you kept your eyes trained on your book as you watched silver and sebeks necks snap up and see him there, both equally confused on how you knew before they did, "lilia! your back already!"
you winced slightly, "not so loud seb, please" he immediately apologized, he held you to as much respect as he did lilia. you sighed as you felt said man plop onto the couch next to you, rolling his head into your lap. wrapping his arms around your hips as he buried his face into your shirt, "it was horrible dear" he wailed quietly, muffled by your clothes.
you gently ran a hand through his hair, continuing to read your book as you indulged him, "what happened now?" he rolled over, his face upwards. you moved your book to look down into his eyes with a skeptical look, "there was a girl, and she hit on me" you faked a gasp, "my poor boy, whatd she do?" being so used to his antics.
he floated up, flinging his arms around for theatrics, "she was trying to ask me to get coffee" you placed a hand over your mouth in fake shock, "and whatd you tell her?". he hung upside down and placed a kiss on your lips, pulling back slightly with bright eyes and a smile showing his fangs, "that i already have a beautiful wife at home". you rolled your eyes smiling, "thats my husband".
"that was so brave lilia!" (sebek in the background crying at his bravery)

Hi! Just wanted to say I’m in love with your TWST writing. Was just reading the white rabbit series and I’m hooked. In part 3 we see that White Rabbit! Reader is 100% not ok, mostly because nothing has changed. They still have all their work to do, all their school work, all the “requests” from the NRC boys and staff, and they are STILL being teased. Sure the teasing may have changed a little but it’s still there. Reader is still being brushed aside, not listened to. Characters like Crewel and Leona may say they like the change, and that kinda hurts? They like reader being burnt out and just so worn down? Everyone seems to have comments on what they think, but have they asked what our little rabbit thinks? What reader feels? Do any of them realize just how much our White Rabbit actually does for everyone?
I kinda want to see White Rabbit! Reader snap again and just get teary eyed and say how the other overblots got support and can change, but reader still has a role. Reader can’t stop doing their work. They just can’t care anymore because it’s clear others don’t care about them. If others think it’s so good for them to be like this then what does that mean? Reader doesn’t want to be stressed out. They don’t want to lash out and hurt others, they never did. But they just feel so worn and done with it all.
IDK I just see it being such good hurt/comfort fic material. Rabbits may be prey but they aren’t just weak and defenseless. Our little rabbit thought has just had enough. I’d love to see your take on this.
Hope you’re doing well!

hi! I'm sorry it took so long, it went way too long and got out of hand. i hope you like it <3
Riddle Rosehearts:
Riddle noticed something was wrong. It was in the way your shoulders sagged under the weight of another endless list of tasks. It was in the way your normally brisk pace had slowed, as if each step you took was through quicksand. But he didn't say anything—not at first.
You were always like this, weren’t you? Always running late, always fretting about something. He just assumed it was your usual nervous nature.
Except, it wasn't.
The change was subtle, but there was something different in your eyes now. Something darker. You still did the work, you still completed each task with quiet efficiency, but the politeness had taken on an edge of detachment. You weren’t anxious anymore—you were done.
"Here's the report you wanted," you said one evening, handing him a set of documents. Your voice was flat, no longer laced with the apprehension he’d grown used to. There was no fidgeting, no desperate need for approval in your tone.
Riddle paused, looking up from his desk. "Is everything alright?" The question was curt, almost accusatory, as if he was more irritated by your change in demeanor than concerned.
You gave him a tired smile. "Does it matter?"
His brows furrowed. "Of course it matters! You’ve been acting strange."
You laughed—a bitter, hollow sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Strange? No, Riddle, I’ve been tired. You’ve never noticed that before, have you?”
The air between you stilled, a suffocating weight pressing down as he processed your words. You were always so compliant, so willing to go along with everything. He’d assumed you preferred it that way. After all, hadn’t you always done your work without complaint?
But now, seeing the exhaustion etched into your face, the lifelessness behind your eyes, he realized he’d been wrong. He’d taken your compliance as a given, never once considering the toll it had been taking on you.
“Why didn’t you say something?” he asked, but the question felt hollow even as it left his lips.
“Would you have listened?” you shot back, your voice soft but cutting. “When have any of you ever really listened to what I have to say?”
Riddle swallowed hard, the sting of your words settling deep in his chest. He prided himself on fairness, on order, but he hadn’t been fair to you. He hadn’t been listening.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice quieter now, tinged with something that felt dangerously close to vulnerability. “I should have seen it. I didn’t realize how much I was asking of you."
You shook your head, not in anger, but in resignation. “I’m not asking for much, Riddle. I just need someone to care. Really care.”
For the first time, Riddle felt helpless, unsure of how to fix what had been broken between you. But he stepped forward, awkwardly placing a hand on your shoulder, trying to offer some comfort—an unspoken promise to do better.
“I’ll be better,” he murmured, “for you.”
Trey Clover:
Trey always noticed things. The way you bit your lip when you were nervous, the way your eyes darted around as if you were constantly expecting something to go wrong. But now, things were different.
It wasn’t the nervous energy that worried him. It was the stillness.
You sat at the table in the Heartslabyul kitchen, staring blankly at the open textbook in front of you. You had come to help him prepare for the next Unbirthday Party, like you always did, but tonight you barely spoke.
Trey placed a cup of tea in front of you, watching as you absently reached for it. “You okay?” he asked gently.
You blinked, as if snapping out of a daze, and gave him a tired smile. “I’m fine.”
But you weren’t. You hadn’t been for a while now.
Trey sat down across from you, resting his elbows on the table as he studied your face. “You don’t look fine. You’ve been quiet lately. More than usual.”
You shrugged, staring down into your cup. “Just tired, I guess.”
Trey wasn’t sure what to say. He wasn’t good with words, not in the way Cater or Riddle were. But he didn’t need words to see that something was wrong. The way your hands trembled slightly as you held the cup, the way your shoulders seemed to carry the weight of the world.
“You’ve been overworking yourself, haven’t you?” he asked, voice soft but firm.
You let out a dry laugh. “When am I not overworked?”
Trey frowned. “That’s not fair to you.”
“No, it’s not,” you agreed quietly, setting the cup down. “But it’s what’s expected, isn’t it? Someone has to keep things running smoothly.”
He reached out, gently taking your hand in his. His fingers were warm, steady—a stark contrast to the coldness you felt creeping into your bones.
“You don’t have to do it alone, you know,” he said, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. “You can ask for help.”
You shook your head, the weight of his kindness almost unbearable. “And burden everyone else? I don’t want to be a problem.”
Trey’s grip on your hand tightened slightly. “You’re not a problem. You’re important. To all of us.”
You looked up, meeting his gaze for the first time that night, and the sincerity in his eyes nearly broke you. He meant it. He really meant it.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, tears welling up in your eyes. “I’ve just been so tired, Trey. I don’t know how much more I can take.”
He stood then, moving around the table to pull you into a gentle hug, his arms wrapping around you with a quiet strength that made you feel safe—really safe—for the first time in weeks.
“It’s okay,” he murmured, resting his chin on top of your head. “I’ve got you.”
Cater Diamond:
Cater was all smiles and sunshine. That’s what people saw. But he noticed things—small things, cracks in people’s facades. He was an expert at it because he had so many cracks of his own.
So, when he saw you dragging yourself through the day, your usual nervous energy replaced by something much darker, much heavier, he didn’t ignore it.
“Hey! Let’s take a selfie!” he chirped, pulling out his phone as he bounced over to you.
You blinked, staring at him like you hadn’t heard a word. “I’m not in the mood, Cater.”
Cater paused, lowering his phone. That was definitely not like you. Normally, even if you were frazzled, you’d humor him. You always did.
“You sure?” he asked, tilting his head as he scrutinized your face. “You’re looking kinda down, you know.”
You sighed, rubbing at your eyes. “I’m just… tired, Cater. I’m really tired."
Cater dropped the playful act immediately, his smile fading as he tucked his phone away. “You wanna talk about it?”
You shook your head. “No one wants to hear me complain.”
“Come on, don’t be like that,” he said, sitting down next to you, his tone uncharacteristically soft. “I’m here for you, okay? What’s up?”
You hesitated, biting your lip as the weight of everything threatened to crash down on you. “It’s just… everything. No one listens. No one notices. I do all this work, and no one cares. It’s like I’m invisible.”
Cater frowned, reaching out to place a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, that’s not true. We care. I care.”
You shook your head, tears stinging your eyes. “Do you? Do any of you? Or am I just the White Rabbit, always running around, doing everyone’s bidding, never being heard?”
Cater’s heart ached at the pain in your voice. He’d been so wrapped up in his own facade, his own distractions, that he hadn’t realized just how much you were hurting.
“I’m sorry,” he said quietly, his usual playful tone replaced with sincerity. “I should’ve noticed. I should’ve asked sooner.”
You sniffled, wiping at your eyes as you tried to hold yourself together. “It’s not your fault. I just… I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”
Cater pulled you into a tight hug, resting his chin on your shoulder as he whispered, “You’re not alone, okay? You’ve got me. You’ve got all of us."
Ace Trappola:
Ace wasn’t exactly the most sensitive person in the world, but even he wasn’t oblivious to the way you had been acting lately. You were quieter than usual, more withdrawn. It wasn’t like you at all.
“Yo, what’s up with you?” Ace asked as he plopped down next to you in the courtyard, his usual smirk in place. “You’ve been acting super weird lately.”
You didn’t even look up from your book. “I’m fine.”
Ace narrowed his eyes. “Nah, you’re not. You
Ace narrowed his eyes. “Nah, you’re not. You’re like, super off. What’s going on? You never act like this.”
You finally looked up from your book, your expression weary and drained, like someone who had been running for far too long. “I’m just… tired, Ace.”
“Tired?” He scoffed, nudging your shoulder. “We all get tired, but you look like you’re about to keel over.”
You sighed, closing the book and turning to face him. “It’s not that kind of tired. It’s the kind of tired where you’ve been working non-stop, doing everything everyone asks of you, and no one ever bothers to ask if you need help.”
Ace blinked, clearly taken aback by your bluntness. He opened his mouth, then closed it, frowning as if he didn’t quite know how to respond. “Wait, is this about all the stuff we’ve been asking you to do? ‘Cause I didn’t think—”
“That’s the problem, Ace,” you interrupted, voice tight with frustration. “No one ever thinks. You all just assume I’ll do it, and I do, because I don’t want to let anyone down. But I’m tired. I’m so tired.”
He shifted awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. “Look, I… I didn’t realize it was that bad. I just figured you liked doing stuff like that—keeping busy, you know?”
You let out a humorless laugh. “Liked it? I do it because I don’t have a choice. You all ask, and I say yes because that’s what’s expected of me. But no one ever asks if I’m okay, or if I need a break.”
Ace’s smirk was gone now, replaced with an uncharacteristic seriousness. He didn’t like feeling guilty—he hated it, in fact—but there was no denying the weight of your words.
“...Damn,” he muttered, looking away. “I didn’t know. I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to… you know, pile all that stuff on you.”
You slumped back against the bench, the exhaustion finally catching up with you. “It’s not just you. It’s everyone. But I appreciate the apology.”
Ace was quiet for a moment before he nudged you again, a little gentler this time. “Hey, listen. I’m not exactly good at this whole feelings thing, but… you don’t have to do all this alone, okay? Next time you’re feeling burnt out, just say something. I’m not completely heartless, you know.”
A small smile tugged at the corner of your lips. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Good,” Ace said with a grin, his usual cocky tone returning. “And don’t worry, I’ll be the first to jump in and tell everyone to back off. I got your back.”
For the first time in a while, you felt a little lighter. “Thanks, Ace.”
Deuce Spade:
Deuce always noticed when something was off, especially when it came to people he cared about. So when you started acting distant, quieter than usual, it didn’t take long for him to pick up on it.
He found you one afternoon sitting by the fountain, staring blankly at the water. You didn’t even notice when he approached, lost in your own thoughts.
“Hey,” Deuce said softly, sitting down beside you. “You okay?”
You blinked, looking over at him like you hadn’t even realized he was there. “Oh. Deuce. Yeah, I’m fine.”
He frowned, not buying it for a second. “You don’t look fine. You’ve been really quiet lately.”
You sighed, rubbing your temples. “I’m just… tired. It’s been a lot.”
Deuce tilted his head, his concern growing. “A lot of what?”
You hesitated, unsure if you should even bother explaining. But then again, Deuce wasn’t like the others. He wasn’t someone who would brush you off or tease you for feeling overwhelmed.
“It’s just… everything,” you finally admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “All the tasks, the work, the pressure. It’s like no one ever stops to think about how much I have on my plate. I keep doing everything they ask because I don’t want to let anyone down, but I’m at my limit.”
Deuce’s frown deepened. He had always admired your work ethic, your ability to handle so much without complaint. But now, seeing you like this—so drained, so worn out—it hurt him in a way he hadn’t expected.
“I didn’t know it was that bad,” he said quietly, his voice laced with guilt. “Why didn’t you say something?”
You shook your head, your eyes cast down. “Would anyone have listened?”
Deuce was silent for a moment, his jaw clenched as he processed your words. He hated that you had been carrying this burden alone, that you felt like no one cared enough to notice. He wasn’t good with words, but he wasn’t going to let you suffer in silence anymore.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice firm but gentle. “I should’ve noticed. I should’ve done something sooner.”
You glanced up at him, surprised by the intensity in his eyes. “It’s not your fault, Deuce. I just… I didn’t want to be a burden.”
“You’re not a burden,” Deuce said, his tone resolute. “You’re one of the strongest people I know. But even strong people need help sometimes.”
The sincerity in his voice made your chest tighten, and for the first time in weeks, you felt the weight on your shoulders lighten just a little.
Deuce reached out, gently taking your hand in his. “You don’t have to do this alone. I’ll help you, okay? Whatever you need, just say the word.”
You squeezed his hand, your heart swelling with gratitude. “Thank you, Deuce.”
He smiled, a soft, reassuring smile that made you feel like maybe—just maybe—you weren’t as alone as you thought.
And in that moment, sitting by the fountain with Deuce by your side, you finally felt like you could breathe again.
Leona Kingscholar:
Leona was lounging in his usual spot in the botanical garden, eyes half-lidded as he observed you marching around like some overworked servant. It had been days since your overblot, but not much had changed for you. The requests from students, the impossible deadlines from professors, the teasing from those who had the nerve to think your meekness made you an easy target—it was all still there. But now, there was something else in you too: a biting cynicism that wasn’t there before.
And Leona noticed.
“You’re looking different these days, Herbivore,” Leona drawled from his spot, smirking when you paused to look at him. “I like it. That whole ‘cynical, done-with-everyone’s-bullshit’ vibe suits you.”
You scoffed, shaking your head and trying to ignore him. “Yeah, well. I guess you could say I’ve had a change in perspective.”
Leona raised a brow, sitting up slightly. “About time. You were way too nice, always letting people walk all over you. This version of you? It’s more interesting.”
You should’ve been fine with his words. Normally, you would’ve brushed it off, even if the new cynicism was a product of your exhaustion and burnout. But hearing Leona praise you for being this way, like the months of silent suffering were a badge of honor—it was too much.
You dropped your books and spun around, the words spilling out before you could stop yourself. “Interesting?! You think this is interesting? I’ve been running myself into the ground, doing everything everyone asks of me because I’m too tired to say no. I’m burned out, Leona. I’m not ‘more interesting,’ I’m barely holding it together!”
Your voice broke at the end, and before you knew it, you were trembling. All the stress, all the exhaustion, it came pouring out in one unguarded moment.
Leona blinked, taken aback by your outburst. He hadn’t expected you to break down like this. Slowly, he stood up from his spot and approached you, his usual lazy expression replaced by something more serious.
“Hey,” he said, his voice lower now, gentler. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
You tried to hold back the tears, but it was too late. Your whole body was shaking with the weight of everything you’d been carrying, and the stress of it all finally crashed over you like a wave. You covered your face with your hands, overwhelmed and embarrassed.
“I can’t do this anymore,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
Leona sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stood there awkwardly for a moment. Comforting people wasn’t exactly his strong suit, but seeing you like this—it stirred something in him.
“Alright, alright, come here,” he muttered, pulling you into a loose hug, his arms warm and strong around you. “You don’t gotta keep doing everything, you know? I know I give you a hard time, but even I don’t think you should burn out like this.”
You hesitated, but then let yourself lean into him, your tears soaking into his shirt as you tried to calm down.
“I just… I don’t know how to stop,” you whispered.
Leona sighed again, holding you a little tighter. “Then maybe it’s time to start saying no. And if people give you grief, send ‘em my way. I’ll take care of it.”
You let out a shaky laugh, the absurdity of Leona offering to help in his own gruff way almost making you feel a little better. Almost.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, your voice still small but a little more steady. “I… I needed that.”
He didn’t respond, just held you a little longer until your breathing finally evened out. And though he didn’t say it, you could tell—despite his teasing, despite his indifference—Leona wasn’t about to let you crumble under the pressure. Not on his watch.
Ruggie Bucchi:
Ruggie had always been good at picking up on little details. As someone who thrived on reading people, it wasn’t hard for him to notice that something was up with you. The way you dragged your feet through the halls, the forced smile you’d plaster on whenever someone asked you for a favor—it wasn’t hard to tell you were burning out.
“Oi, you look like you’ve been run over by a stampede,” Ruggie commented, popping up beside you in the cafeteria one afternoon. He snatched a bite of your sandwich before you could react, grinning when you barely even protested. “What’s up with you? You’re usually a little more, I dunno, lively.”
You glanced at him, too tired to even scold him for stealing your food. “I’m just tired, Ruggie. Really tired.”
Ruggie raised a brow, his grin faltering a little. “Tired? Like, you haven’t slept? Or tired like ‘I’m about to drop dead from all the stuff I’ve been doing for other people’ tired?”
You gave him a look, and he immediately understood. “Ahh, the second one, huh? That’s rough, man.”
You sighed, pushing your tray away. “It’s just… it’s a lot. I keep doing everything everyone asks, and no one ever stops to think that maybe I need a break. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.”
Ruggie frowned, his usual mischievous expression softening. He wasn’t one for heartfelt speeches, but he knew what it was like to be overworked and overlooked. He had spent most of his life like that, after all.
“Hey, look, you don’t gotta do everything, y’know?” he said, leaning back in his chair. “People here? They’ll keep asking as long as you keep saying yes. But if you’re feeling wiped, maybe it’s time to start saying no. You’re not a machine.”
You let out a humorless laugh. “Easier said than done.”
Ruggie shrugged, snatching another bite of your food before giving you a playful grin. “Well, if it helps, I’ll start saying no for you. Anyone bothers you, just send ‘em my way. I can be real convincing when I wanna be.”
You smiled, a small, genuine one this time. “Thanks, Ruggie.”
“No problem,” he said, his grin widening. “And hey, don’t stress. I’ve got your back.”
Jack Howl:
Jack had always been observant, especially when it came to his friends. So when you started acting different—quieter, more withdrawn—it didn’t take long for him to notice. He wasn’t the type to pry, but he couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
One afternoon, he found you sitting outside the gym, your head in your hands. He approached cautiously, not wanting to startle you.
“Hey,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “You okay?”
You looked up, surprised to see him. “Oh, Jack. Yeah, I’m fine.”
He frowned, his golden eyes narrowing. “You don’t look fine.”
You sighed, leaning back against the wall. “I’m just… tired. It’s been a lot.”
Jack sat down beside you, his posture straight and steady. “A lot of what?”
You hesitated, but something about Jack’s calm presence made it easier to open up. “Everything. School, work, everyone asking me for favors. It’s like no one ever thinks I might need a break. I just… I don’t know how to keep up.”
Jack was quiet for a moment, his expression thoughtful. He had always admired your work ethic, but seeing you so worn out—it didn’t sit right with him.
“You don’t have to do it all alone, you know,” Jack said, his voice steady. “You’ve always been there for everyone else. Let me be there for you this time.”
You blinked, surprised by his words. Jack wasn’t usually one for grand gestures, but his sincerity was unmistakable.
“I don’t want to be a burden,” you murmured.
“You’re not a burden,” Jack said firmly, his eyes meeting yours. “You’re one of the strongest people I know. But even the strongest need help sometimes.”
The weight of his words hit you, and for the first time in days, you felt like you didn’t have to carry everything alone.
“Thanks, Jack,” you said softly, your heart feeling a little lighter.
He nodded, his usual serious expression softening into a small, reassuring smile. “Anytime.”
Azul Ashengrotto:
Azul was a businessman at heart, sharp-eyed and always aware of people’s shifts in demeanor. He had noticed, of course, that your usually skittish nature had dulled over the past few weeks. At first, he’d dismissed it as another bout of anxiety, something he could handle with a few soft words or requests framed as favors. But now, after your overblot, he couldn’t ignore the change.
The sharp edge of your exhaustion was a palpable thing.
He found you in the library, surrounded by textbooks, scribbling notes with a frenetic energy that felt more like desperation than focus. He watched you for a moment, eyes narrowing behind his glasses as he adjusted them.
“Ah, there you are,” he said smoothly, striding over to you. “I’ve been meaning to discuss our little arrangement. It seems you haven’t fulfilled your duties as of late.”
You didn’t even look up. “Not now, Azul.”
Azul blinked. That was… new. Usually, your nervousness kicked in the moment you even thought you’d disappointed him. Now? Nothing. Just tired resignation.
He sat down across from you, leaning forward. “You seem… different, lately.”
You sighed, setting your pen down with a shaky hand. “Yeah. I guess I am.”
Azul’s confidence faltered. “You’re… not going to elaborate?”
Finally, you met his eyes. “What do you want me to say, Azul? That I’m fine? That everything is just peachy? Because it’s not. I’m tired. And not in the ‘oh, I need a nap’ way. In the ‘I don’t know how to keep going’ way.”
His brows furrowed. That wasn’t what he expected. Azul wasn’t always the best at handling raw emotion, especially when it wasn’t something he could exploit or fix with a contract. But for some reason, hearing you say that struck a chord in him he didn’t often feel.
“Have you… considered taking a break?” he offered, almost hesitant.
You laughed, a bitter sound that made his stomach twist uncomfortably. “A break? When? Between the assignments, the favors, the expectations? When would I possibly have time for that?”
Azul was silent, watching the weight of your words settle in the air between you. For once, he didn’t have a calculated response. He didn’t know what to say to someone who was clearly at the end of their rope.
After a moment, he placed his hands on the table, fingers lacing together. “Perhaps I’ve asked too much of you. I… didn’t realize the extent.”
You shook your head, eyes distant. “It’s not just you, Azul. It’s everything.”
And for the first time, Azul didn’t know how to respond with anything but quiet understanding.
Jade Leech:
Jade had always been observant. His eyes tracked your movements from the moment you entered the lounge, slower, more deliberate than usual. Your once-anxious energy had dulled into something colder, more cynical. There was no hesitation in your step now, but there was no spark either.
He approached you, ever the gentleman, with a soft smile. “Ah, Prefect, it’s good to see you. I hope you’re not overworking yourself.”
You gave him a look, flat and unimpressed. “Funny.”
Jade raised an eyebrow at your tone. “I was being sincere.”
“Yeah, sure.” You walked past him, barely acknowledging his presence. Jade felt something akin to amusement, though there was an edge of concern to it. He followed after you, steps as smooth as ever.
“I must say, your demeanor has changed since the… incident.”
You turned to face him, crossing your arms. “You mean the overblot? Yeah, I guess that’ll change a person.”
Jade’s eyes gleamed with curiosity. “You seem less… timid.”
“Maybe I’m just tired of being scared,” you muttered, rubbing the back of your neck. “It’s exhausting.”
Jade tilted his head, studying you with a quiet intensity. “I see. And this exhaustion—how do you plan to handle it?”
You let out a sharp laugh, devoid of humor. “Handle it? I don’t know, Jade. How do you handle it when you’re expected to do everything and still be okay?”
He paused, not expecting such bluntness from you. His smile softened just a fraction. “Perhaps you should give yourself permission to fail once in a while.”
You looked at him, surprised by the sincerity in his tone. Jade rarely dropped his formal, polite mask, but there was something almost… genuine in his suggestion. For once, he wasn’t teasing or testing you. He was offering something that felt like understanding.
“I’ll try,” you said softly, feeling a lump in your throat. “I’ll try.”
Floyd Leech:
Floyd had always loved messing with you. You were jumpy, reactive, and so easy to fluster. It was fun, in the way that poking at a small, defenseless animal was fun to a predator. But now? Now you didn’t react at all.
He leaned over your shoulder one day in the cafeteria, poking your cheek. “Heyyyy, Rabbity, whatcha doin’? You’re not runnin’ away from me today?”
You barely spared him a glance. “Not today, Floyd.”
Floyd blinked, frowning at your monotone response. Usually, you’d stammer, scurry away, or at least give him something fun to work with. Now? Nothing.
“What’s wrong with you? You’re no fun anymore.” He flopped down beside you, pouting dramatically. “You’re always so serious now.”
You sighed, not even looking up from your food. “Maybe I’m tired of being the punchline, Floyd.”
That made him pause. He tilted his head, eyes narrowing. “Huh?”
“I said,” you turned to face him, eyes weary and tired, “I’m tired, Floyd. I’m tired of always being the one everyone messes with. I’m tired of being everyone’s joke.”
Floyd’s pout deepened, but now there was confusion in his eyes. “I didn’t mean it like that… It’s just fun, y’know?”
“Well, it’s not fun for me anymore,” you said quietly, turning back to your food.
Floyd didn’t say anything for a long moment, his usual mischievous energy fizzling out. He wasn’t good at dealing with… feelings. But something about the way you looked—so small, so tired—made his chest feel tight in a way he didn’t like.
He leaned back, crossing his arms. “You’re no fun when you’re all sad like this.”
You snorted softly. “Yeah, well. Life isn’t always fun.”
Floyd stayed silent for a while, the frown still on his face. Then, suddenly, he draped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. “Don’t get all boring on me, okay? I like it when Shrimpy’s feisty.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle, just a little. It was a weak sound, but it was something. Floyd grinned at that, squeezing you tighter.
“See? There’s the Rabbity I like.”
Kalim Al-Asim
Kalim had always been sunshine, too bright for his own good. He’d been one of the few who never seemed to notice how much the constant pressure was getting to you. His joy and excitement for life often overshadowed the quieter struggles of those around him, including you.
After your overblot, Kalim’s usual exuberance had dimmed. He’d been visibly shaken, his bright smile faltering when he saw you again. He greeted you with his usual enthusiasm, but there was a tremor of uncertainty in his voice.
“Hey! How are you feeling? Do you want to have a party? To celebrate you feeling better?”
You glanced up at him, eyes hollow. “I’m fine, Kalim.”
He tilted his head, concerned. “Are you sure? You don’t sound fine. Maybe some music and dancing will cheer you up!”
Normally, his carefree energy might’ve been endearing, but today it grated on your nerves. You shook your head, feeling the weight of your exhaustion press down harder. “I’m tired, Kalim.”
His smile wavered. “Oh… well, we can have a quiet party then! Just you, me, and Jamil. We don’t even have to dance if you don’t want to.”
You sighed, finally looking at him, and the moment he saw the weariness in your eyes, his face fell. The ever-bubbly Kalim looked… lost.
“Kalim,” you said, rubbing your temples, “I’m tired. Really tired. And it’s not the kind of tired that a party can fix.”
Kalim’s eyes widened. “Oh… I didn’t realize you were that tired.” He shifted, fidgeting with his bracelets. “I don’t like seeing you like this. You’re always working so hard, and I thought maybe I could make you smile...”
Your heart clenched at the sincerity in his voice. Kalim, for all his obliviousness, genuinely cared. His way of expressing it might have been overwhelming, but there was no doubt that his concern was real.
“I appreciate it,” you said softly, giving him a small, tired smile. “But right now, I just need to rest.”
Kalim’s shoulders slumped, but he nodded. “Okay, no party then. Just… let me know if there’s anything I can do to help, alright?”
You reached out, placing a hand on his arm. “Thank you, Kalim.”
He smiled again, softer this time, but still as warm as ever. “Anything for you.”
Jamil Viper:
Jamil was observant—painfully so. Unlike Kalim, he’d seen the signs of your burnout long before you reached the point of overblotting. But Jamil, being Jamil, hadn’t stepped in. Not because he didn’t care, but because he knew what it was like to carry the weight of responsibilities without complaint. In his eyes, everyone had their burdens to bear.
Still, seeing you now, after everything, was unsettling.
You were in Scarabia, helping Kalim with some menial task that Jamil knew could’ve been handled by literally anyone else. Your once jittery energy had dulled to something almost robotic, and Jamil couldn’t shake the feeling that something was very wrong.
He approached you cautiously, arms crossed. “You’ve been quieter than usual.”
You didn’t look up from your work. “Just tired.”
Jamil’s eyes narrowed. “You’ve been ‘just tired’ for a while now.”
You sighed, finally pausing and turning to face him. “I overblotted, Jamil. What do you expect?”
He didn’t flinch at your words, but the tension in the air thickened. Jamil had always been blunt, but seeing you like this stirred something in him that he didn’t quite like.
“Overblot or not, you’re still here, doing things that aren’t your responsibility,” he said, voice flat. “Why?”
“Because if I don’t, who will?” you snapped, the bitterness in your voice surprising even yourself. You were sick of it. Sick of doing everything and being noticed for nothing. “Everyone expects me to keep going, so I keep going.”
Jamil’s expression remained impassive, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes—guilt, perhaps. He had been part of that cycle, hadn’t he? Always asking, always expecting, never really considering how much you were carrying on your own.
After a moment, he sighed, his voice softer than usual. “You don’t have to keep going like this, you know.”
You blinked, surprised by the sudden gentleness in his tone. “What?”
“You don’t have to be everything to everyone,” Jamil continued, glancing away for a moment before meeting your eyes again. “I know what it’s like to feel like you’re trapped in expectations, but… burning yourself out won’t fix anything.”
For a moment, you were silent, the weight of his words settling over you. It wasn’t like Jamil to be so direct about emotions—at least, not with you. He always kept a safe distance, but now, he was offering something more genuine.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding. “I don’t know how to stop.”
Jamil’s gaze softened, just slightly. “You’re not alone in this. You have people who care. You don’t have to carry it all by yourself.”
It wasn’t much, but it was enough to crack the walls you’d built around yourself. The exhaustion, the stress, it all felt a little lighter in that moment.
“Thanks, Jamil,” you said quietly, giving him a tired smile.
Jamil gave a small nod, his usual stoicism returning. “Just… try not to overwork yourself again. I have enough on my plate with Kalim.”
You chuckled, the sound weak but genuine. “I’ll try.”
Vil Schoenheit:
Vil had always been a stickler for perfection. His eyes caught every flaw, every imperfection, even the ones that others didn’t notice—or couldn’t care about. So, it was no surprise when he caught you slouching, your hair slightly disheveled, and your usual anxious attention to detail completely absent.
You were exhausted—burnt out to the point where nothing seemed to matter anymore.
Vil clicked his tongue in disapproval as he crossed his arms. “You’ve really let yourself go, haven’t you?”
His tone was sharp, but the comment barely made a dent in your shell of apathy. You just blinked up at him, too tired to even flinch at the judgment.
“Yeah,” you muttered, barely audible. “I guess I have.”
Vil’s violet eyes narrowed, and he placed a perfectly manicured hand on his hip. “This isn’t like you. The White Rabbit I know was always meticulous, even when the rest of you was a mess.”
The words echoed in the air, but you didn’t respond. You knew he wasn’t wrong. The old you would’ve scrambled to fix your appearance, to make sure you lived up to Vil’s impossible standards. But now, you felt too tired to care. What did it matter?
Vil’s frown deepened as he studied you, and something flickered in his gaze—something like concern. “You’re not even going to argue?” he asked, voice softer than before.
You shrugged, staring at your hands. “What’s the point?”
For a moment, there was silence. Vil wasn’t used to this—this version of you that didn’t rise to meet his expectations or bristle under his critiques. The fire that once kept you moving, always trying to prove yourself, was gone.
And it scared him.
Vil stepped closer, his sharpness fading as he crouched slightly to meet your gaze. “What’s going on with you?”
You finally looked up at him, your eyes hollow and tired. “I’m just… tired, Vil. I don’t care anymore. About any of it.”
His eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, the perfect image of Vil Schoenheit cracked. He saw the depth of your exhaustion—the weight you’d been carrying for so long. He realized, maybe for the first time, that your relentless need to keep up with him had finally broken you.
Without a word, he reached out, placing a hand on your shoulder, his touch uncharacteristically gentle. “You don’t have to keep doing this. Not for me, not for anyone.”
You swallowed hard, the lump in your throat growing as the apathy began to crumble. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you shook your head. “But if I don’t, who will?”
Vil’s expression softened in a way that you rarely saw. “I’m not asking for perfection. Not from you.” He paused, squeezing your shoulder lightly. “I just want you to be okay.”
That was it. The dam broke, and tears streamed down your face as you finally let go of the weight you’d been carrying. Vil didn’t say anything more, just stayed by your side, offering a silent presence as you let yourself fall apart.
Rook Hunt:
Rook Hunt was, in every way, overwhelming. His poetic flair, his dramatic declarations of admiration, and his constant observations—usually about things you wished he wouldn’t notice—had been a source of both irritation and amusement in your life. But now, you found yourself unable to muster even the faintest reaction to his eccentricity.
He had been watching you, of course. Rook always noticed everything, and this time was no different. He approached you with a grin, as though he had a secret only the two of you would understand.
“Mon lapin! You seem to have taken on a new air of mystery, how delightful!” His voice was filled with excitement, expecting a reaction—your usual nervous laughter or maybe a shy protest.
But instead, you just stared blankly at him. “Yeah. Sure, Rook.”
For a brief second, his smile faltered, his eyes scanning your face carefully. You weren’t biting back, weren’t stammering nervously or trying to evade his intense gaze. You were just… blank.
“Something is amiss, non?” His voice softened, a rare gentleness creeping in as he knelt beside you, lowering himself to your eye level. “You’re not yourself today, mon ami.”
You sighed, your shoulders slumping. “I don’t know if I even know who that is anymore.”
Rook tilted his head, his usual theatrics fading. “Ah, you are weary… far too weary for someone so full of life.” His words were soft, his voice no longer teasing but understanding.
“I’m just… tired, Rook. Of everything.” You rubbed your face, trying to shake off the numbness, but it clung to you like a second skin.
Rook, for once, didn’t offer a poetic response or some elaborate metaphor. Instead, he reached out and gently took your hand, his thumb brushing against your knuckles in a quiet gesture of comfort. “You don’t need to explain,” he said, his voice uncharacteristically quiet. “But you don’t have to carry it alone, either.”
Something in his words broke through the wall you’d built around yourself, and you looked at him, your eyes burning with unshed tears. “I don’t know what to do, Rook. I’m so tired.”
Rook’s expression softened even further, and he smiled, a tender, genuine smile that made your heart ache. “Then rest. You are not a failure for needing time, mon lapin. Even the moon takes its time to rise.”
The tears finally spilled over, and Rook pulled you into a gentle embrace, his arms wrapping around you in a way that felt both comforting and protective. “You are not alone,” he whispered. “Not while I am here.”
Epel Felmier:
Epel had always admired your resilience. To him, you were someone who, despite being shy and quiet, had a certain strength that he respected. But lately, he noticed that something was different. You weren’t reacting the way you used to. You weren’t as anxious or jumpy, but… you weren’t really you either.
One afternoon, Epel found you sitting in the courtyard, staring blankly at the sky. He approached with a grin, his usual proud, determined expression in place. “You’re not lettin’ anyone push ya around anymore, huh? I’m proud of ya for that."
You glanced at him, managing a weak smile. “Yeah, I guess.”
Epel sat down next to you, his smile fading as he looked at you more closely. “But... somethin’ ain’t right, is it?”
You exhaled slowly, leaning back against the bench. “I’m just… tired, Epel. I don’t know how to keep going.”
Epel frowned, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. “Tired? What do ya mean? You’re always so… strong.”
You chuckled bitterly, shaking your head. “I don’t feel strong. I feel like I’m falling apart.”
Epel’s frown deepened, and he scratched the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable but trying his best to understand. “I get it, kinda. You’ve been workin’ hard, probably too hard.” He paused, glancing at you with concern. “You don’t have to be tough all the time, ya know. It’s okay to ask for help.”
You smiled sadly at him. “I don’t even know how to do that.”
Epel shifted closer, his usual rough-and-tumble demeanor softening. “Well, ya don’t have to do it alone. We’re friends, right? So, if ya need me, I’m here. Even if it’s just to sit with ya.”
For the first time in a while, you felt a flicker of warmth. Epel wasn’t the most eloquent, but his words carried a sincerity that hit you in all
Idia Shroud:
You hadn’t meant to snap at Idia. Honestly, you didn’t. But everything had been building for so long, like a pressure cooker about to blow, and when he made the comment—one that should have been harmless—it all came crashing down.
“Uh… you’re kinda different lately,” Idia had muttered, his eyes glued to his tablet as usual. His tone wasn’t accusatory, more like an observation, but the words felt like a match thrown onto the pile of kindling that had been building inside you.
Different? Was that what he thought? As if you had just woken up one day and decided to be different. As if all the stress, all the constant work and the endless expectations hadn’t eaten away at you until there was nothing left.
Your chest tightened, and before you could stop yourself, you snapped.
“Of course, I’m different! Do you think I want to be like this? That I’m enjoying any of this?” The words tumbled out, sharp and cutting, and you could see Idia flinch slightly, his usual wide-eyed, panicked expression flickering across his face.
He shrunk further into his hoodie, his hair dimming a little at your outburst. “I-I didn’t mean it like that. I just—”
“You just what?” you interrupted, your voice trembling with the weight of frustration and exhaustion. “You think it’s fun being constantly overwhelmed? Do you think I like the fact that I don’t even recognize myself anymore?”
Idia blinked, his hair now a dull, nervous blue as he fumbled with the edges of his sleeves. “N-No, I—sorry. I didn’t realize—”
The sight of him looking so rattled, so unsure, finally made you pause. Your anger began to fade, replaced by a wave of guilt. He wasn’t trying to upset you—he was just being his usual, awkward self. You sighed heavily, running a hand through your hair as you sank onto a nearby chair.
“I’m sorry,” you muttered, staring at the ground. “I didn’t mean to yell. I’m just… tired.”
Idia glanced up at you, his hair flickering back to a soft blue. “No, I get it. I mean… I don’t get it get it, but… I can see you’ve been stressed. I didn’t mean to make it worse.”
You looked up at him, the frustration and exhaustion still simmering under the surface but no longer directed at him. “I just… I feel like I’m falling apart, and I don’t know how to stop it.”
Idia shifted uncomfortably, clearly out of his depth when it came to emotional stuff. But he nodded, his fingers tapping nervously on his tablet. “That… sounds like a total nightmare, honestly. If you wanna talk or, like, not talk… I can just sit here. No pressure.”
You smiled weakly at him, grateful for the gesture even though you knew talking wouldn’t fix everything. Still, the offer meant something, especially coming from someone like Idia, who was as socially awkward as they came. “Thanks, Idia.”
He nodded quickly, his hair flickering brighter. “Yeah, no prob.”
Ortho Shroud:
Ortho was a bright little ball of sunshine, a constant source of cheerfulness that sometimes felt like too much when you were in the state you were now. But he was also hard to ignore, especially when he zoomed over to greet you, his cheerful voice ringing out the second he spotted you.
"Hi! How are you doing today? Is there anything I can help you with?” Ortho’s voice was filled with such eager energy that it almost made you wince.
Normally, his enthusiasm would have been endearing, but today, it was just too much. You forced a tired smile. “I’m fine, Ortho. Just… tired.”
His sensors seemed to pick up on your low energy, and he tilted his head, his mechanical eyes glowing softly. “You don’t seem fine. Maybe you need some rest! Or maybe I could get you something to eat, or—”
“Ortho,” you interrupted, rubbing your temple as a wave of exhaustion hit you. “I just… I just want to be left alone for a little while, okay?”
There was a pause as Ortho processed your request. His cheerful smile faltered for a moment, and his eyes dimmed slightly, but then he nodded, his voice softening. “Okay, if that’s what you want.”
You almost regretted snapping at him, but to his credit, Ortho didn’t push. Instead, he hovered nearby, his presence quiet but still there, like a little brother who didn’t want to leave your side even when you asked for space. He wasn’t overbearing—just a silent, watchful figure in the background, making sure you were okay.
After a few minutes, you glanced at him. He was still there, his eyes watching you with concern, but he hadn’t said a word since you asked to be alone.
A small, tired smile tugged at your lips. “You can stay, you know. Just… maybe tone it down a little.”
Ortho’s eyes brightened, and he floated a little closer, his voice quiet and soft now. “I’ll be here if you need anything.”
Despite your exhaustion, you found comfort in Ortho’s presence. He wasn’t pushy or demanding—just there, offering quiet support. And for now, that was enough.
Malleus Draconia:
Malleus had a way of appearing at the most unexpected times. One moment you were alone, wallowing in your overwhelming responsibilities, and the next, he was there, his presence like a calm, steady force that momentarily took the weight off your shoulders.
"You have a heavy burden," he said softly, his glowing eyes watching you with concern.
You let out a hollow laugh, shaking your head. "I don't have a choice, Malleus. I have to do it all. There's no one else."
He was silent for a moment, his expression thoughtful, before he spoke again, his voice gentle but firm. "You always have a choice."
His words struck you, and you looked up at him, tired and skeptical. "What choice do I have, really? If I don’t do it, who will?"
Malleus stepped closer, his large hand reaching out to gently take yours. The warmth of his touch was comforting, grounding. "I will help you," he said, his voice steady, full of promise. "You do not have to carry this burden alone. I would be honored if you would share it with me."
The sincerity in his words broke something inside of you, and you felt a lump rise in your throat. You hadn’t realized how much you needed to hear that, how much you needed someone to acknowledge your struggle and offer their support. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you tried to blink them away, but it was no use.
Malleus gently pulled you into an embrace, his arms wrapping around you in a way that made you feel safe for the first time in what felt like forever. "I am here," he whispered. "Always."
You buried your face in his chest, letting the tears fall as you clung to him. For the first time in a long while, you didn’t feel so alone.
Lilia Vanrouge:
Lilia always seemed to know when something was wrong, even when you tried to hide it. He found you sitting alone, your shoulders slumped, your mind racing with thoughts of everything you still had to do. The old fae’s eyes softened as he approached, crouching down to your level.
“Ah, my little rabbit, it’s important not to lose yourself in all of this,” he said gently, his tone light but with a hint of seriousness. “You’ve been running yourself ragged.”
You sighed, feeling too tired to argue. “What choice do I have? It never stops.”
Lilia gave you a knowing smile, his eyes twinkling despite the concern behind them. “Even so, it’s vital to take care of yourself. If you get lost, who will be there to find you?”
You stared at him, your eyes stinging with unshed tears. You hadn’t realized how much you had lost yourself until now, how much you had forgotten who you were amidst the endless demands and expectations.
“I don’t know,” you whispered, your voice cracking slightly. “I don’t know how to find myself again.”
Lilia reached out, placing a hand on your shoulder. “You won’t have to do it alone. I’ll be there, whenever you need me. You’ve got someone who will always come looking for you, no matter how far you wander.”
The tears spilled over then, and Lilia gently pulled you into a hug, his arms surprisingly strong for his small frame. “Cry if you need to, little rabbit. It’s alright to be tired.”
You sobbed quietly into his shoulder, grateful for the comfort, for the promise that you weren’t completely lost.
Silver:
Silver was different from the others. He didn’t always have the right words, but his presence was comforting in its own way. You found him waiting for you one evening, his eyes calm and steady as always, and yet… there was a softness there that told you he understood more than he let on.
"You should rest," Silver said simply, his tone gentle but firm. "You’ve been pushing yourself too hard."
You wanted to argue, to tell him that you couldn’t afford to rest, but the words wouldn’t come. Instead, you just nodded, feeling a tear slip down your cheek.
Silver watched you for a moment, and then, in his quiet way, he stepped closer. "I can stand guard for you," he offered softly. "While you rest. No one will bother you."
Something about the offer made your heart ache, and you swallowed the lump in your throat. “Silver, you don’t have to—”
“I want to,” he interrupted, his voice gentle but resolute. “It’s okay to let someone else take over, even if it’s just for a little while.”
His words, so simple and sincere, broke the dam, and before you knew it, tears were streaming down your face. Silver, ever so calm, wrapped an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a hug that was both protective and comforting.
“I’ll be here,” he murmured, his voice low and soothing. “You don’t have to do this alone.”
For the first time in days, you allowed yourself to lean on someone, feeling the exhaustion finally take over as you cried quietly into his chest.
Sebek Zigvolt:
Sebek was the last person you’d expect to understand. When he first saw you, looking worn out and drained, his immediate reaction was his usual loud, indignant self.
"Human! How could you let yourself become so... unkempt?!" Sebek had barked, his voice echoing in the corridor. "You have responsibilities! Standards to uphold!"
You barely reacted, your energy too drained to even muster a response. You just stood there, staring at him with tired, glassy eyes. Normally, you might have snapped back at him, might have told him off for being so overbearing. But today… you didn’t even have that in you.
Sebek stopped, his expression shifting as he took in your hollow look. For the first time, he seemed to realize that something was deeply wrong. His usual bluster faded, and his voice softened, though it still held that familiar Sebek intensity. “Are… are you alright?”
It was such a simple question, and yet it broke something inside of you. You shook your head, unable to hold back the tears any longer. “No. I’m not.”
Sebek’s eyes widened, and for a moment, he looked completely at a loss. But then, to your surprise, he stepped closer, his voice quieter than you’d ever heard it. “You… you should not bear this burden alone.”
You sniffed, wiping at your eyes with the back of your hand. “I don’t have a choice.”
Sebek hesitated, then awkwardly placed a hand on your shoulder, his touch surprisingly gentle for someone so loud. “You do. And you must let someone help you.”
You looked up at him, surprised by the sudden shift in his demeanor. Sebek, the loud and proud half-fae, was comforting you. And despite how awkward he was about it, you found it strangely reassuring.
“Thank you,” you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion.
Sebek’s grip tightened slightly, and he nodded, his eyes full of determination. “I will not let you falter.”
You smiled weakly through your tears, and before you knew it, Sebek had pulled you into a clumsy, but genuine hug. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough. You held onto him, letting the tears flow, feeling a little less alone in the world.
And for the first time in a long while, you felt like maybe—just maybe—you didn’t have to carry everything by yourself.
Rollo Flamme:
Rollo’s sharp eyes caught you as you wandered through the dimly lit halls, your steps slow and heavy. His brow furrowed slightly, the ever-present judgmental edge in his voice as he approached.
“You’re not really alive anymore, are you?”
It was such a blunt statement, cutting straight through the haze of your exhaustion. For a moment, you stood there, frozen, unsure if you had even heard him correctly. Then, something inside you cracked. All at once, the weight of everything you had been carrying overwhelmed you, and you felt your knees buckle.
“I’m trying,” you whispered, your voice breaking. “I’m trying so hard, but… it’s never enough. I don’t know how much longer I can do this.”
You expected him to scoff, to make some cold remark about duty and responsibility. But instead, Rollo’s usually sharp expression softened. He hesitated for a moment, clearly unsure of how to proceed, but then—so awkwardly it almost startled you—he reached out and gently took your hand in his.
“I… didn’t mean to cause more distress,” he murmured, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. “You have been shouldering too much.”
The simple contact, the warmth of his hand in yours, sent a flood of emotion through you. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you squeezed his hand, your lip trembling. “I don’t know what to do anymore…”
Rollo’s grip tightened, a silent promise that he wouldn’t let you fall any further. “Then perhaps it’s time to stop trying to carry it all alone.”
Neige LeBlanche:
You hadn’t expected to run into Neige when you did—his usual bright demeanor an overwhelming contrast to the exhaustion you felt pressing down on your every move. When he saw you, his eyes widened with immediate concern.
“Oh no… have you been running yourself ragged?” Neige asked, his voice soft and full of sympathy.
You tried to smile, tried to brush it off like you always did. “It’s fine, really. I’m just… tired.”
But the moment you said it, you felt the tears rising again. The weight of everything you’d been trying to handle was too much, and now, in front of someone as kind and gentle as Neige, it was impossible to keep the façade up any longer.
Neige, sensing the shift in your mood, stepped closer, his expression full of worry. “You don’t have to do this alone, you know.” He gently took your arm, guiding you to sit on a nearby bench. “Come on, let’s rest for a bit.”
As soon as you sat down, the dam broke, and you buried your face in your hands, sobbing quietly. Neige didn’t say anything for a moment, but his presence was soothing, like a warm blanket on a cold day. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into a comforting hug.
“You’ve done so much already,” he whispered, his voice gentle. “You deserve to rest.”
The tears came faster, but this time, they felt like a release. Neige held you, stroking your hair softly as you cried into his shoulder. He didn’t try to fix everything or offer any grand solutions. He just stayed there, offering quiet comfort, and in that moment, it was exactly what you needed.
Che’nya
Che’nya’s grin was as wide as ever when he appeared beside you, hanging upside down from a tree branch like it was the most natural thing in the world. But there was something in his eyes as he looked at you, something that said he knew something was different.
“Well, well, well,” he teased, his voice lilting with amusement. “Looks like you’ve finally become like the rest of them—cynical and all that.”
His words were meant to be lighthearted, a joke, but they hit too close to home. You felt your breath hitch, the ache in your chest tightening. The teasing that once might have been playful now only highlighted the exhaustion, the bitterness you had tried to hide for so long.
“I… I didn’t want to become like this,” you whispered, your voice trembling. “I didn’t want to be so… tired.”
Che’nya blinked, his grin fading slightly as he flipped down from the branch to stand beside you. “Hey now… I didn’t mean to make you upset, little rabbit.”
But it was too late. The tears were already spilling down your cheeks, your body shaking with the weight of everything you had been holding in. You covered your face with your hands, embarrassed by how easily you had broken down.
Without a word, Che’nya crouched beside you, his playful demeanor slipping away as he gently touched your arm. “It’s alright, you know? You don’t have to hide it.”
You sniffled, wiping at your eyes with the back of your hand. “I’m just… I’m so tired of trying to keep up with everything.”
Che’nya gave a soft chuckle, but there was no teasing in it now. “That’s because you’re not supposed to do it all by yourself.”
Before you could say anything, he pulled you into a tight hug, his arms wrapping around you in a way that felt both comforting and protective. “You’re not alone, little rabbit. Not with me around.”
Grim:
Grim had been his usual self at first, bounding around and bragging about his latest escapades. But then he noticed how quiet you had been lately, how you didn’t respond to his antics with your usual snark. He had brushed it off at first, but the more he thought about it, the more it gnawed at him.
Finally, Grim came up to you, his tail flicking nervously as he tried to gauge your mood. “Hey… henchhuman. You’ve been actin’ real weird lately.”
You glanced at him, too tired to even muster a proper response. “I’m just tired, Grim.”
“Tired?” Grim huffed, crossing his little arms. “You’re always tired! But this is different, ain’t it?”
You didn’t say anything, and that’s when Grim’s expression shifted. He stepped closer, his eyes wide and full of concern. “Henchhuman… did I do somethin’? Did I make things worse?”
The sound of his worried voice, of Grim actually not being selfish for once, broke you. You had been holding it in for so long, trying to be strong, but now, with Grim looking at you with those big, worried eyes, you couldn’t hold back anymore. The tears came, fast and unstoppable, and you buried your face in your hands.
Grim panicked for a moment, unsure of what to do, but then he scrambled onto your lap, pressing his little head against your chest. “Hey, hey! Don’t cry! I didn’t mean to make ya upset!”
You sobbed harder, your hands shaking as you tried to get a hold of yourself. “I’m sorry, Grim. I’ve just… I’ve been so overwhelmed, and I didn’t want to bother you…”
“Bother me?” Grim scoffed, but there was no bite to his words. “You’re my henchhuman! If somethin’s wrong, you tell me, got it?”
You nodded, tears still streaming down your face as you hugged Grim tightly. He grumbled a little, but then he nuzzled against you, his small form warm and comforting in your arms. “I’m sorry I didn’t notice sooner,” he muttered. “But you’re gonna be okay. ‘Cause you’ve got me.”
Despite everything, you smiled through your tears. Grim wasn’t perfect, but in his own way, he was trying to help. And for now, that was enough.
Crowley:
"Ah, my ever-reliable little rabbit!" Crowley called from across the hallway, his cloak billowing dramatically behind him. He approached with his usual flourish, clearly in one of his grandiose moods. "I couldn't help but notice that your posture is rather… less upright than usual. No doubt due to your recent lack of respect and enthusiasm! You simply must—"
You barely looked up. Everything was gray. Crowley’s usual barrage of demands and flowery speeches washed over you like distant noise, and for the first time, you didn’t even flinch.
“I don’t care.”
The words came out before you could stop them, low and exhausted. You didn’t even bother to meet his eyes.
Crowley paused, blinking in confusion. “Pardon? Did you just—?” His voice faltered as he saw the deep bags under your eyes, the way your shoulders slumped, and how utterly defeated you looked. The bravado drained from his expression as he realized just how far he had pushed you.
“Oh… oh dear,” he stammered, clearly flustered. “I… I hadn’t realized you were feeling this way.” His hands flapped awkwardly, and he shifted on his feet, the image of a man utterly lost in uncharted waters. “Perhaps I’ve… overworked you. Just a smidge! But worry not! Crowley is here to—erm—assist! Yes, assist!”
You stared blankly at him. “I don’t need assistance. I need you to stop.”
Crowley’s face fell, and after a moment of visible panic, he hesitantly reached out, patting your shoulder in what he clearly thought was a comforting gesture. “There, there… You’re very… valuable to us all. Truly. Perhaps… a bit of a break? I will—uh—take care of things while you rest. Just… please don’t break down.”
Though his attempt at comfort was clumsy and awkward, the thought behind it made your eyes well up with tears. Despite everything, he was trying.
“Okay,” you whispered, and Crowley gave an exaggerated nod, as if this small victory had restored his usual bravado.
“Very well! I’ll expect to see you back when you’re ready, my precious little rabbit. Take your time!”
Divus Crewel:
Professor Crewel’s sharp gaze pinned you the moment you entered his classroom. He noted the new tension in your shoulders, the lack of bounce in your step, and the weary drag in your eyes.
“Well, well, looks like you’ve finally grown some grit,” Crewel said, his lips curling into a smirk. “It’s about time you toughened up. I was beginning to think I had a little herbivore in my class, but I see now you’ve developed a thicker hide.”
Those words—meant to be encouragement, or perhaps a compliment—broke the last bit of strength you had left. The tears you had been holding back spilled over, and your breath hitched as you tried, and failed, to keep your emotions in check.
Crewel’s eyes widened in alarm, his smirk vanishing in an instant. “Whoa, whoa, now—what’s this?” His tone softened, and he quickly put down the lesson plan he’d been holding. He crossed the room, placing a surprisingly gentle hand on your shoulder. “I didn’t mean… I wasn’t trying to push you that far.”
You shook your head, choking back sobs. “I just… I can’t anymore. I can’t keep up with everything.”
For a moment, Crewel stood there, clearly at a loss. But then his paternal instincts kicked in, and he sighed, pulling you into a firm but comforting hug. “You’ve been doing too much, haven’t you, pup? Trying to shoulder all of it on your own.”
You nodded, tears soaking into his coat, but he didn’t seem to mind. He gently stroked your back in soothing motions. “You’ve proven yourself time and again,” he murmured. “But you don’t have to break yourself to do it. Let me handle some of the load.”
His words, so uncharacteristically gentle, made you cry harder. And Crewel, despite his tough exterior, let you. “It’s okay, pup. You don’t have to carry this alone.”
Mozus Trein:
Professor Trein glanced over his spectacles at you as you entered his classroom, late, looking disheveled and utterly drained. He gave a soft ‘tsk,’ his usual sternness evident. “I hope this recent behavior won’t affect your studies,” he remarked, a hint of disappointment in his voice.
You didn’t even have the energy to reply, simply nodding and sitting down heavily at your desk. Trein continued to watch you for a moment, then his brow furrowed as he took in the full extent of your exhaustion—the dark circles under your eyes, the slumped posture, the way you barely moved.
He put down the parchment he’d been grading and approached you, his voice quieter, more concerned. “You’re not yourself.”
You felt tears prick your eyes, but you stubbornly kept them at bay. “I’m… trying.”
Trein sighed, and for the first time, his stern exterior softened. “You’ve always been diligent. But there comes a time when even the most diligent students need rest.”
Before you could respond, you felt a soft weight land in your lap. Lucius, Trein’s ever-grumpy cat, had jumped up onto your desk, curling up as if offering you silent comfort.
Trein gave a rare, faint smile. “Even Lucius seems to think you’ve had enough. Take some time for yourself, and… don’t hesitate to ask for help.”
It was the first time you felt truly seen in a while. And though Trein wasn’t the warmest, his quiet concern—and Lucius’s uncharacteristic kindness—were enough to make you finally exhale the breath you’d been holding.
Sam:
Sam’s wide grin greeted you as you wandered into his shop, his usual cheerful energy practically bouncing off the walls. “Well hey there, little rabbit! What brings you to my corner of the world today?”
You mustered a half-hearted smile, trying to match his energy, but it fell flat. “Just… looking.”
Sam’s eyes narrowed, sharp as ever. “Just lookin’, huh? C’mon now, I know you better than that! Somethin’s got you down, I can see it from a mile away.”
You shrugged, not really wanting to get into it, but before you could think of a reply, Sam leaned in closer, his tone still playful but a bit more serious. “You look like you’ve been runnin’ on empty, little rabbit. What’s goin’ on?”
For some reason, the concern in his voice broke through the walls you’d been trying to keep up. The tears welled up without warning, and you bit your lip, shaking your head as if you could will them away.
Sam’s grin faltered, and his usual jokes fell silent. He quickly stepped around the counter, his voice softer than you’d ever heard it. “Hey, hey… none of that now. You’re too important to be runnin’ yourself into the ground like this.”
You sniffled, wiping at your eyes. “I just… I don’t know how to keep going, Sam.”
Without a word, Sam pulled you into a hug, his big arms wrapping around you protectively. “You’ve been strong for a long time, little rabbit. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with leanin’ on someone else every once in a while.”
Ashton Vargas:
“Hey! What’s up, champ?” Vargas greeted you with his usual booming enthusiasm as you dragged yourself into the gym. His muscular arms were crossed over his chest, and he was clearly expecting you to give some sort of equally enthusiastic reply.
Instead, you just shrugged, your energy completely sapped. “Nothing much.”
Vargas frowned, his usually boisterous demeanor faltering slightly as he noticed how worn out you looked. “Hey, you alright? You’re lookin’ a little worse for wear.”
You tried to laugh it off, but it came out weak. “Just tired.”
“Tired?” Vargas echoed, his concern growing. “You’re a fighter! You don’t get tired, right?” He tried to give you an encouraging slap on the back, but when you didn’t respond, his smile dropped completely. “Okay, something’s really wrong.”
You sighed, the exhaustion creeping into every part of you. “I can’t keep up anymore, I’m just… done.”
For a moment, Vargas looked completely out of his depth. He wasn’t exactly the go-to guy for emotional support. But he wasn’t going to let you suffer alone either. He awkwardly reached out, putting a hand on your shoulder.
“Look, uh… I’m not the best with words, but… you don’t have to be strong all the time, okay? Everyone needs a break. Even you.”
His sincerity, even through the awkwardness, made your heart clench. And before you knew it, you were leaning into his surprisingly gentle hold as tears finally escaped.
“Alright, alright,” Vargas muttered, patting your back like a dad who didn’t really know what he was doing but was trying his best. “We’ll get you through this, alright? Just… breathe.”

the girl next door 𝜗𝜚⋆₊˚
ー the elevator (p1)
read the other chapters here !

: neighbor ! modern ! ellie williams x reader oneshot !
fluff fluff :3
FOR THE GIRLS ONLY
i'm trying to write more abt my favs, but like leon I haven't written ellie in a while!! I'm sorry for the inaccuracy <3
一
there it was again. the sound of the guitar playing over and over. it seemed this time, she couldn't get a certain part.
ellie williams was a chill neighbor. you only knew her name from the other tenants who'd yap to each other about her guitar late at night. yeah, she'd keep to herself most of the time, but the times y'all did meet was.. a bit awkward.
you'd bump into her coming out of her apartment, fumbling with her keys. "oh shit- sorry." she'd mumble out, glancing to you before locking her gaze onto the floor, rushing past you.
don't get me started when y'all were stuck on the elevator. well- it wasn't that awkward..
. . .
you rushed out of your apartment, bag straps slipping off your shoulder after being sloppily put on, as you scrambled to lock your apartment door. you ran to the elevator that was already closing, before a hand came out to hold it open. your eyes went from the hand, to the moth tattoo on her forearm, to her green eyes.
"oh- thanks-!" you smiled as she nodded.
then silence for a few seconds.
"what floor?" "what?" "what floor-?"
"ah- uh, the bottom one?" "right- right."
ellie clicked the button, and the elevator ride was going smoothly. the conversation was already awkward and both of y'all wanted to get out as soon as possible. ellie was attractive, but that's what was scary about her.
suddenly the elevator cracked, then popped, before it just stopped moving. you glanced up at ellie, who glanced at you. she then went to click the emergency button.
"hey uh- I think the elevator broke."
"ok! help will be on the way" the lady spoke in a cartoony voice as you and ellie rocked on your feet.
an hour went by, and almost nothing happened.
"so.. where were you going?" you asked, as ellie looked up from her phone. you noticed she never really looked you in the eye.
"oh I was gonna go to class-.." she hummed, as you nodded.
"what about you?" she tilted her head slightly.
"I was going to go to my job at the cafe- but I guess i'll be late huh"
"you work at a cafe??"
"yeah why-!"
"what a loser" you could tell she didn't mean it by the way she tensed up, before speaking again "sorry- just joking-." she looked worried that she had offended you for a second.
you guys talked a while as you waited for the repairmen. you learned a lot about her.
her dad joel had taught her guitar, she got that tattoo from her friend, and that she was in college for art.
then the lights shut off. she cursed under her breath as you stumbled to find the emergency button once more- only for you to bump into her. "sorry-!" you yelped, before she turned on her flashlight. you didn't realize how close y'all were till now. your breaths hitched, your eyes locked as ellies lips parted slightly "sorry!! im sorry fuck-" you stammered out, making distance as she nodded.
"it's- fine really-." she mumbled as you looked down, almost guilty for the sudden awkwardness of the room. well- the room was already awkward, but you kinda just added onto it.
it was silent before she spoke up again, her eyes locked onto her phone.
"you smell nice" she hoped you didn't see her burning face, or hear the way her heart beated. hell- it felt as though it was gonna burst out her chest.
"thanks!" you smiled as she nodded in response (as always) before it was awkward again. "you- you play guitar right? I always hear you at night" you paused, cursing at yourself when it came out. it sounded so creepy! always hearing her at night??
it seemed she picked up on this, and chuckled, looking down. "uh.. sorry to keep you up at night-. last night I was very stressed at not getting that riff right."
"what? it sounded great to me."
"really-?"
"yeah! I could hear your progress!" you smiled as she turned bashful. she ran a hand through her hair, nodding. "thanks.."
you don't know where you got the confidence- whether God Himself or your adrenaline, but you blurted something out with your fat ass mouth.
"do you wanna come to the cafe later? i'll give you coffee- for free too-!"
ellie blinked, before nodding. she was trying to act nonchalant but you could tell she was struggling.
"yeah- yeah yeah thats- that sounds- cool."
"mkay! guess its a date!" you were talking faster than you thought, and you saw ellie's eyes widened with the light of her phone screen.
"what?"
"what?"
then the repairmen came and you rushed out of the elevator. it'll be so awkward when the two of you come back home tonight.
ok its beddy sleep nap nappy beddy bye bye

wc: 2.4k
warnings: none! hurt comfort happy ending lets go!!
summary: Finally getting a moment to talk to you, Steve is determined to get things fixed between the two of you.
a/n: i hope u guys enjoyed this little series!! <33 thank u for all the love on it !!!!!!!
part 1, part 2, part 3

How can I repay the due? The way you know me, love me, pull me through. ♫
After everything with Venca Steve accepted that things just wouldn't be the same. He would no longer be mad at the new normal. His new life would consist of sleepless nights all alone, no time for hobbies, stitched into a routine that wouldn't fail him. Nothing changing meant nothing could go wrong.
This was all set in stone until you came along, and now Steve can't help but rethink his whole system. Maybe, somehow, Steve wouldn't have to feel so exhausted by all the weight he has to carry. That someone would actually want to do that for him. But now Steve is stuck in a constant state of stress for how he was gonna tell you all of this, without messing it all up.
All of this has kinda forced Steve to open up more, ask his friends what to do instead of always having all of the answers. Robin was able to get through to him that you needed time. And maybe if the date you went on did go horrible, like he'd hoped, he’d be ready to pick you back up.
Which it did by the way. It was just the worst and if Steve wasn't so pretty you’d swear off men for a lifetime. To get yourself all done up and have some guy waste your time felt like a slap in the face. The whole date all you could think about was how Steve wouldn't say that, or Steve would have done this. Being plagued by him was starting to drive you mad, like the way he so easily wrote you off and humiliated you wasnt enough for you to get over him completely.
In hopes to at least start ‘mission get over Steve’ you decide to go to the store, ready to divulge in a whole carton of ice cream and cry out how sad you are of the way things ended. Whatever stage of grief involved you feeling sorry for yourself was what you were experiencing. Your red eyes in the grocery store matching a baggy outfit to show the world how broken you were feeling. Rejected, bad date, rock bottom. Next week you’ll bounce back but for right now you walk towards the ice scream section. That is until you hear a loud ‘ouch!’ come from an aisle that you were walking towards.
Now you were really starting to feel crazy because if your delusions have truly melted your brain you would almost guess that it was Steve's voice. And when you hear Robin lecture him you feel your heart drop.
“Do you always have zero class?” Robin scolds.
“I just tripped! I'm heartbroken, deal with me would you?” He pleads. And if a gun were to Rob's head, she would reply with a ‘oh I know’. Because to be quite frank, it's all she's heard about.
He had asked her about the idea to go see you but Robin reminded him that maybe that wouldn't fix all his problems. That he could actually make things worse.
Quick to get as far away from them you decide to go through the next aisle but it is humorous how bad of an idea that was. You try to turn as you see their cart come through before they do but you don’t make it in time.
“I know but it-” The sentence stops before it really even starts. Both of you freeze, caught.
Robin’s heart breaks, despite Steve saying he's sad, you actually look it. Eyes slightly swollen, your hair in a braid that's slightly falling apart, and an outfit that shows that you haven't left the house in a few days.
“Are you okay?” Steve is quick to ask, walking towards you as you stand still in your spot.
“Yeah, I just-I needed some reinforcements.” You say with a dry laugh, trying to not come off as embarrassed as you feel.
“I’ve been meaning to talk to you. I was gonna actually stop by your house but I dunno- I mean I know how weird that sounds, but I couldn't get a hold of you and I wanted to make sure you were ok.” Somehow Steve got it all out with one breath. His hands are matching his words telling a story themselves.
“You know where I live?” You are trying to ignore how he wanted to check up on you.
“Well no but I was gonna look in the system.” He says scratching the nape of his neck, this isn't really coming out as romantic as it would have felt had he done it.
“Oh.” You nod but you really don't know what to say, too embarrassed for the second time around Steve no wonder he doesn't want you.
Robin walks up to meet you two in the middle. “We were gonna have a movie night if you wanted to join?”
You let out a small smile at her invite, always okay with being the third wheel. And if we’re being real you could really use a win right now. It may not be a date night with Steve but hanging around two people who you know will make you feel good sounded nice.
“Okay sure, yeah. If that's okay with you?” You ask looking back at Steve.
His round eyes go wide, not expecting you to say yes. “Sure, yes. Yeah that would be nice.” He doesn't even care that he's giving away his nonchalant facade with the big grin on his face. Simply happy with how this is going so far.
As you scan all the snacks you three got for the movie night Steve toys around with asking how your date went but Robin beats him to it.
“So how was your date with pool guy?” She pulls out her wallet and Steve hands you his card, already a step ahead of her with this at least.
“It was ok, we weren’t a match but I got a free dinner.” You say with a shrug putting the last item in the bag. Admitting that it was a fail isn't an option right now, already letting them see you in this state was punishment enough.
Steve takes the bags and you start walking out to the car.
“I can meet you guys there?” You ask. A second to decompress how awkward this all is would be nice.
“Okay see you there!” Robin says as she closes the door to Steve's car. You know they are talking about everything that just happened but you are sitting comfortably in silence.
–
It only takes you about 5 minutes to get to Steve’s, his house being pretty close to the grocery store. 5 minutes to gather your thoughts about how this night might play out. Trying to think about every outcome possible to prepare but the short ride doesn't give you much time to think.
“Rob open the door?” You hear Steve ask as you get out of your own car.
“You ever heard of a please? Maybe a thank you?” Robin responds, even though she does open the door for him.
You walk in only a few steps behind him and let out a soft thank you to her.
“See at least she has manners, why am I not best friends with her?” You smile at her as she closes the door, you’ve missed this.
“So what movies did you guys get?” You ask sitting on the couch.
“We got ‘The Exorcist’, ‘Jaws’, and E.T.”. Steve answers as he's placing all the treats you got on the table.
“Pass, pass, and okay I could do E.T.” You smile digging into the snacks you got.
Steve laughs and rolls his eyes at your opinionated response. “You aren't up for Jaws?” He asks while sitting next to you.
His couch isn't small but it isn't huge. The warmth of his thigh could be felt by your own, if he leans over at all he's in your personal space.
“I think I should be asking you why you want to watch a movie about a shark that kills people.” You joke back. You're both acting like nothings wrong. It’s really not the time to get into a whole deep argument and for now that's okay with you both.
“It’s a good movie, you should watch it.” He gives your knee a nudge and asks Robin to turn off the lights. It’s later in the evening and the sun is almost completely done setting which you thank in hopes that he can't see how flustered his small touch made you.
As the movie plays the three of you sit there making small comments in between scenes and eat your food. When the last 30 minutes comes you only hear the loud snores coming from Robin. Deciding to call it a night, Steve turns the TV off. It’s now completely dark and suddenly the fact that this has been the first time you both have been, basically, alone since the fight hits you all at once.
“I should-”
“Can we talk?”
You both say at the same time. Steve is the one asking to talk and you nod thinking he's right. The smart adult thing to do is to talk.
He puts his hand on the small of your back and leads you out to his backyard. The weather at night is perfect and the silence plus the small wave of the wind is relaxing. You sit on one of his long white chairs and he does the same with the other.
“I’ve really missed you, y’know?” Steve starts. You almost wanna let out a sigh at how annoyingly mature he’s being about all of this. So open to say what's on his mind.
“Me too.” You decide to copy.
“I want you to know I didn't mean what I said.”
Your eyes immediately shoot towards him. Trying to find out what game he's playing, what his angle is.
“I am not, not, looking for something right now.” He wishes he could explain his feelings in a better way. “I know I said I wasn't and I thought I wasn't but then you came around and you changed everything for me.”
This small silent treatment you’re giving is sorta killing him. The need to explain as much as he can to get on your good side again is all that's on his mind.
“But then you left and you weren't coming around and the one time you do you're going on a date.” Steve lets out a huff, the anger coming back all too easily.
“What did you think I was coming around for Steve? I liked you. I really thought we were on the same page. I mean the inside jokes and spending the whole day together.” Your usage of “liked” makes Steve wince. It hits him hard and every word after it is like salt on the wound.
“I just, I didn't think I had anything to give anyone. All I know how to do is keep everything in all of the time so no one else falters.” Steve lets out a sigh, his vision blurring. “What would anyone want anything to do with someone like that?”
You wish you were sitting next to him to give him a hug. To lend him a hand to squeeze, or maybe a shoulder to lay his head.
“Steve, you know any of these people in your life would stop everything if they knew you were feeling like this.”
“But then who's taking care of them? Someone has to.” Poor Steve you think. A kid who was never cared for, only focuses on caring for others.
This time you actually get up and move toward him. He scootches over and the weight of you both at the end of the plastic chair makes it lift at the top. Almost falling off Steve puts his weight to the top and you stay on. A laugh escapes out of you and soon enough he's coping.
Silence falls between you for a few seconds. “I'm sorry you've been feeling this way.” It’s simple but it’s true. Steve is the last person who deserves to feel like this.
“I’m sorry I made you feel this way.” He’s talking about a whole different feeling but nonetheless an awful one.
You reach your arms to go around his shoulders and he lets his chin fall on your shoulder. His arms wrap around you in return and for the first time in weeks you feel at peace.
“Would you stay the night? I have a spare room– Normally Rob sleeps in it but I'm sure she wouldn't mind the couch.” He asks lifting himself from the warmth of your shoulder.
You and Steve still have a long way to go, more to get through but you’re ready to do it with him. Ready to share whatever baggage he might bring.
“Yeah I can stay.” Giving him a warm smile, it really does numbers for his heart.
His shoulders fall as he breathes out a breath of relief. Your forehead falls gently against his own and he closes his eyes. It allows you to really look at him, like how long his lashes are, and how pretty his lips purse out.
“Cmon, let's go to bed.” You stand and lay your hand out for him to take.
All of these emotions are hitting him all at once, exhaustion taking over as he does as you say intertwining his fingers with yours.
You lay a blanket on Robin who is now fully stretched out on the couch and Steve locks the sliding glass door. You both walk up the stairs in silence but once you reach the top you both pause.
“Can I sleep with you?” You ask. He offered you the spare room but right now you really don't want to be away from him.
Steve is secretly thankful you did. He nods and you both climb into his bed. You guess the pros of being a rich kid is having a big bed, you both fit nicely.
He wraps an arm around your waist and you snuggle your face into the crook of his neck. He smells like pine and chlorine from being outside this whole time. But it’s his heartbeat that easily puts you to sleep. The consistent rhythm being a perfect reminder of how thankful you are to have Steve. And the feeling of his hand going up and down due to your soft breathing is what puts him to sleep. Unsure of what tomorrow will bring but you'll deal with it together.

Could I request a ficlet about reader having trauma and stress after Joaquin’s accident and she tries to hide it from him because he’s recovering? Its a little heavier of a topic so I’m sorry if you’re not wanting to go there ❤️
Fears ~ Joaquín Torres
synopsis: you're fears of Joaquín getting hurt get revealed one night when he finds you sobbing in the bathroom.
tw: fem!reader, limited use of y/n, cabnw spoliers, reader has hair long enough to be in a ponytail and braided, barely edited
fic, ficlet, drabble, request
Hey, so I loved this and I changed a little bit of what I originally wrote because this version made me cry less. Enjoy!
➽──────────────❥
You were home when you got the call. "Hello, I'm calling from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Is this Y/n?" She asked you.
"Yes, I am," you replied, confused on why the hospital was calling you.
"You're written down as Joaquín Torres' emergency contact, is that correct?" A female voice was on the other side of the line, you're heart stopped when you heard it.
"Yes, Joaquín's my fiancé," you told her, messing with the ring on your finger. You were worried about what she was calling you about.
"I'm afraid there's been an accident," you tuned out the rest of her words as you ran to your car. You knew she wouldn't tell you over the phone how he was so you ran, you got into the car and sped to the hospital. Somewhere along the line you had told the woman you would be there soon and hung up.
Sam was outside when you got there, he greeted you and led you to the private room where you could see Joaquín's surgery. You watched in silence as the doctors worked, at some point Bucky had walked in. You met him once before, before you met Joaquín, it came with being one of Sam's oldest friends.
"...but you... you give them something to aspire to," you caught the tail end of Bucky's speech and heard Sam tease him about his speech writers. You barely paid attention to their conversation but heard Bucky walk over and sit next to you. "He's a strong kid from what I've heard, he'll be ok," Bucky gently laid his hand on your shoulder and you tore your eyes away from Joaquín.
"Thanks, Bucky," you told him. "Or should I call you Congressman Barnes," you teased lightly, trying to keep yourself from crying.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You were sitting next to Joaquín's bed when he woke up, you weren't there the first time since Sam told you to go eat. Joaquín wasn't mad that you weren't there, he was glad Sam was making you take care of yourself.
"Angel," Joaquín called your attention to him and you whipped your head up so fast he was worried you might get whiplash.
"Joaquín, you're awake," you breathed out, reaching to gently push his hair out of his face. "Are you ok?"
"I am, Angel, don't worry," Joaquín tried to comfort you and you just smiled, not wanting him to worry about you.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You had taken Joaquín home, he was told to take it easy. You helped him with everything and when he was a little better and back to work, all your fears gripped you in a vice. Your heart would stop at every phone call when Joaquín was gone, or even with you. You feared not hearing for Joaquín everyday at least once when he was away from you. You never acted on these, you knew he was still recovering. He didn't need to be with you all the time now, he could go and help where he could.
Joaquín noticed, he always noticed when there was something different about you. He saw the way your hand shook when you told him goodbye in the morning, saw the way your eyes widened and glossed over with tears when your phone went off. He was told by others that they had noticed the same reaction when your phone went off and he wasn't around. He noticed how in the morning, when you thought he wasn't awake, you would press your hand to his chest to feel his heartbeat and his breathing. How you would be tense when he walked in a room before relaxing when your eyes landed on him.
He chalked it up to you still trying to deal with him almost dying, that you would be better when he no longer needed the physical reminder of what happened in the form of his bandages. It wasn't until he woke up late one night to find you not in bed. He heard you before he saw you, you were in the bathroom, the only light coming from a candle you had lit. You were hyperventilating, sobs tearing their way through your chest only to be muffled by your hand pressed to your mouth. You were heavily leaning on the wall, your knees to your chest and hair messily pulled into a ponytail.
"Angel?" Joaquín walked over and crouched to be eye level with you. "Angel, please look at me," Joaquín gently pulled your hand from your mouth and your sobs made his heart clench.
"I'm sorry," you sobbed. "Please go back to bed," you told him, not wanting to bother him with your feelings while he was recovering.
"No, what's wrong," Joaquín scrunched his eyebrows as you shook your head.
"It's not important," your sobs stopped and your tears slowly stopped as you told him. You wiped your tears but he wasn't taking that as an answer.
"It's clearly important if you're crying in our bathroom at 2 in the morning," Joaquín told you and you sighed, knowing you were going to cry again when you spoke.
"I'm just," you paused as more sobs tore from your throat, your tears returning. "I'm just worried that now that you're getting better, you will take more risks when you get back out on the field. That you will get through this but not the next," your tears sped up again and Joaquín told a hold of one of your hands. "I fear my phone going off because what if it's Walter Reed calling to tell me you're there again. I fear that you're gone when I don't hear from you when you're gone, I fear that I'll wake up one day and you'll be gone," you paused as more sobs tore through you. "I'm sorry, you're recovering, you need to rest and relax. Not worry about me, go back to bed, please," you sobbed and covered your face with your hands again. You couldn't deal with him seeing you like this, not when he was still hurt.
"I'm not going anywhere, now or ever," he told you, he rested his hands on your knees. "I promise you, you will never have to lose me," he reassured you and when you removed your hands from your face, he took them in his. He guided you up and back to bed where you both laid back down, you blew the candle out on the way out of the bedroom.
"I'm sorry," you were cut off by Joaquín kissing you.
"Don't apologize, you're allowed to feel anyway you want," Joaquín told you. "I promise when we wake up in the morning, we will talk about how I can help you get over your fears," Joaquín promised and you just nodded, the exhaustion from crying finally washing over you.

after your day with rafe yesterday, the girls had so many questions and you told them everything, down to the song he wrote for you. what you didn't expect however, was that the song was going to be released in a few days time.
"i genuinely can't believe this," sarah started, "i mean him opening up to you? the commincation? the song? where is rafe and what have you done with him." she giggled.
"no y/n i don't think you understand the extent of this. like we've all been friends with rafe for a good 6 years, and i have never seen a girl have this affect on him before."
"guys stop you're making me think i'm some kind of miracle." you laughed with them.
"that's because you are a miracle." cleo joined in.
"so do you think you'll become official soon...?" sarah questioned.
"i don't know, the fans already think we are." you stated.
"the fans are fucking crazy. you'll get used to that i promise. when me and pope started dating everyone went bonkers over it." cleo reassured you.
"i guess so, it's okay i don't mind it, it's just getting used to seeing my face whenever i open twitter." you said. "whatever, we've got a flight to catch." you all finished your last minute packing and made your way into the car that was waiting for you outside the hotel.
part of you was sad to be leaving the state you had made so many memories in, but you knew heading back to new york all together was just the beginning for this new chapter for you and rafe.
once you made it to the airport, you found the rest of the boys who had left earlier as they all entered 'dad mode' and were getting stressed, john b to blame for that.
"finally you're here!" john b began as he saw you walk through the door.
"yeah thought we were gonna have to leave without you." pope said sarcastically.
"enough. we're here now aren't we?" cleo said rhetorically.
"yes ma'am" jj joined in, everyone was in agreement that cleo was the boss of the group.
you made your way to say hi to topper, who was slowly starting to become his usual self again, you assumed him and rafe had a conversation to try and clear the air.
but you eventually made it to rafe, who looked like his was patiently waiting his turn to get your attention, "hey you" he said.
"hey" you replied with a slight blush, "i didn't know you were actually going to release the song." you rushed out.
a look of concern took over him, "do you mind?" he asked worriedly.
"no! no i'm happy" you started, "but the fans are a little crazy."
"yeah i know they are and i should've warned you about that, but the best ones mean no harm and all you can try and do is ignore them." he replied.
"hard to ignore them when they're commenting on everything i post." you quietly said.
"i can say something if it really bothers you, okay?" he softly reached out to give your hand a squeeze.
"okay" you smiled at him, always putting you at ease.
"ok love birds pack it in," jj hollered "i don't think this plane is going to wait for us."
"whatever dude" rafe grinned, "ready?" he turned to you.
"ready."
