I鈥檓 so proud of people living with chronic health conditions. That shit is HARD. Idk who needs to hear this, but if no one else has said it: I鈥檓 proud of you. You鈥檙e sticking it out through so much pain and grief. That鈥檚 no small feat.
Every small thing you do for yourself health adds up. The grief is heavy and it comes from a place of love. The grief knows the pain is wronging you.
I鈥檓 proud of you. I hope on the good days you can be proud of yourself.
Keep going.

Sending love to everyone who has health issues or chronic pain in parts of your body that aren鈥檛 usually socially acceptable to talk about. It鈥檚 frustrating to feel like you can never explain your pain to someone because it鈥檚 TMI and to feel like you have to hide it. Your pain is nothing to be ashamed of. I see you, and I鈥檓 sending you support and strength.

Hey, listen here. Psst, down here.
Disability isn't a competition. You are not less or more disabled than another disabled individual. No one is "disabled enough." Saying that certain disabilities are not valid is ableism. You are not immune to ableism just because you're disabled.
If it affects your ability to do activities negatively, it's a disability.
Yes, this means chronic pain, yes this means joint pain, this means sensory issues, this means mental issues, this means brain damage, this means deformities, this mean developmental disabilities like ADHD, this means tic disorders and tics themselves, this means all disabilities. All disability is disabled enough.

So I'm autistic and I struggle with eating the right amount of food. Either food is a chore that I have to get through to have energy, or it's something I love that I eat waay to much of and later suffer the consequences due to my digestive issues.
The YouTube channel NutritionbyKylie has been really helpful in reframing my relationship with food. It also helps that I'm now an adult and have the opportunity to choose what I want to eat.
If you're neurodivergent, struggling with an eating disorder, have ARFID, are strapped for cash, strapped for time, or just want to eat healthier, then I highly recommend her channel!

today is the first time a doctor has ever examined my stomach and told me something was wrong. something physical that he could see and touch. he told me something was wrong with me. and it made me so happy.
something was wrong even when my labs were clear. i鈥檓 allowed to be happy to get bad news because it means i finally have answers. and answers is something i spent my childhood praying for. so yes im happy to be told something is wrong with me. because something was wrong before anyone believed me. now i just have proof

Me: -finally eating gluten free after 27 years of shredding my intestines every time I eat it and making my health deteriorate more and more-
Me: My tummy still hurts...
My roomie: Because you still have IBS.
Me: ...this is bullshit.
