HONORABLE MENTIONS: Immortal Days (2016 - ?)
NOTE: Listennnn I just binge read it over two days and wanted to recommend it somewhere. The main characters are men and most of the plot is about them, but the women in the larger cast are not only very well-realised (and also ridiculously hot), but the bulk of them are gay. Actually a crime how little attention this gets in western fanspaces with toxic yuri situations this crunchy. There's an on page lesbian wedding and that's like the least gay thing going on with the girlies here.
NOTE 2 - PLEASE; There's also a very androgynous approach to character design, and the female characters are well built, appropriately dressed, have big noses, thick necks, strong jaws, varying gender presentation, short hair.......... they're just as complicated and violent and unhinged and morally compromised as the guys..................... its a good series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Immortal Days is an ongoing Korean webcomic by Heo Gin Gae about two mortal men banding together in a world where humans at large can't die.
Mankind has discovered the secret to immortality. As humans can no longer die, violence abounds. Living among the immortals is Myeol. Careful and conscientious, he’s a street-smart fighter who’s trained himself to survive. Why? Because he’s mortal; a mutant. Upon meeting Phill, a money-grubbing “Troubleshooter” short on morals, Myeol is thrown into a life full of guns, bombs and death cults. But Myeol and Phill have more in common than meets the eye… - AniList
Available on Lezhin in both English & Korean.
EDIT: Since a lot of the more sensitive content warnings are pretty arc-specific, I've got rid of the content warnings under the cut and instead made a document that goes through arc-by-arc. Still a WIP btw! Not totally up to date! Be warned!
Let's say general severity rating: significant, for the most part; the actual tone of the comic isn't all that bleak, so if you prep yourself for like, generalised Dark Themes™ and just dip if it hits your limit, it's not so bad.

By now, there's lots of people have heard about the internal CDC memos for all newly prepared manuscripts (like future scientific papers waiting to be published):
Tumblr media
There's so much to comment on, and I'm seeing it all right now. What the state of science is. What this means for the queer community. All of that.
But fuck, I think I might genuinely start crying over this. As a transgender biologist, this feels like a brutally personal blow. I slowly accepted my gender alongside my biology education. The more misinformation that was spewed about "biological sex" by mainstream media, the more my professors, colleagues, and primary sources would casually drop information that proved they have no idea what they're talking about. I'm not an expert on sex determination, gender, or transgender biology specifically by any means. But my worldview has been crafted by my studies in genetics and molecular biology.
Engaging with this research helped me demystify transition. It helped me optimize my transition. It helped me explain how HRT and other steps of trans healthcare work to other people. And it helped me overcome my own internalized transphobia, and finally start transitioning, despite knowing I wanted to since my preteen years.
Who knows how enforceable internal guidelines like this will be. But its certainly going to scare a lot of researchers away from transgender healthcare and science in the coming years, and that breaks my heart.
There's a lot I can say here, but fuck. I just needed to vent for a moment. Fuck.

Genius Barty part 2: Regulus: Oh fuck, I don't think I have any eggs left- James: But you bought 4 dozen last week?? Regulus, shrugging: They all got used up. James: How? Regulus: Pandora made a face-pack, Barty took some to bake his cheese soufflé, Evan was included in the both face-pack and soufflé making. Regulus: Oh and Dorcas took some to make omelettes. James: So, you all used 48 eggs in 7 days?? Regulus: *Shrugs* Barty: Technically that's 1.71 eggs per person per day, so it isn't that much- James: I-what?? Sirius: HOW THE FUCK DID HE CALCULATE THAT SO FUCKING FAST??-

less than two weeks after a law passed that bans transgender people in utah from using bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity, an elected official is already inciting death threats against a child:
the girl in question (who is cisgender) is under police protection currently after a member of the STATE EDUCATION BOARD posted her photos on facebook and implied that the girl was trans. she took the photos down after learning that the girl was cis, but the damage had already been done. the student in question had already recieved a barrage of death threats.
the board member, natalie cline, has faced backlash and state legislature has already started discussion on how to impeach state board officials, but I find it important to reiterate that the girl she accused of being trans was in fact cisgender. I doubt the backlash would be quite so widespread if this wasn't a false accusation. this behavior is being normalized and encouraged by our bigoted state legislation.
we're going to see more of this kind of thing in the future, most likely. please keep your eyes on utah

Most annoying thing to remember is that you're litterally just a homosapien. You're just a very smart animal. If you feel like shit, imagine you're an exotic pet for some alien species and do what they'd do to keep you healthy. You gotta be well cared for. Animal abuse is a crime for a reason
"My pet human, Greg, hasn't left his bed in a long time. He's just scrolling his phone all day" Greg needs enrichment. Add enrichment in his enclosure and take him on walks
"Greg has been super lethargic and sad recently for seemingly no reason" Greg need vitamins, take him outside for some vitamin D and fresh air. Perhaps a picnic
"Greg won't sleep even though he's been super lethargic" Greg needs a schedule, especially for the lights in his enclosure.
"Greg has been super distant recently and keeps crying to sad music" Humans are pack animals, he needs to hug another human and hang out. Perhaps pack bond with a rock together
"Greg has been flailing around and panicking, his breathing is way faster than it should be" Greg is overwhelmed. Take Greg out of the situation and give him time to calm down. Perhaps somewhere cozy with tea and a movie
"Greg won't do what he needs to do" Train him. Humans do great with positive reinforcement, give him little treats when he's doing good
"Greg he's been super anxious and tired, he can't seem to enjoy his days" Humans needs to move around. Give Greg something to exercise with. Things like stretching, weight lifting, walking, or even dancing will help
"Even though I've taken really good care of Greg, he still has been having issues" Greg is ill, take him to the doctor. You might need a specialist (therapist, optometrist, oncologist, etc)
I know it feels patronizing, and I know it feels embarrassing or that you're "just giving into the clichés", but you are literally just a creature. You need to sleep/eat on time, you need enrichment, and you need to take care of your social needs. Humans are complicated animals, but they are also beautiful and all deserve proper care. This obviously isn't a perfect analogy, nothing is, but if you saw your friend taking care of their pet the way you take care of yourself, would you be concerned?

Why are trans men constantly gaslit about our lived experiences?
We try to talk about how we’re denied reproductive care and are treated as others in gynecological spaces. We should not be outliers or things of ridicule or disgust in these spaces. These are spaces where we should be welcomed like any cis woman would be. We are treated like this even when we need gynecological care because we are trans men.
We try to talk about how TERFs oversexualize us while infantalizing and talking down to us. They act like they have ownership of our bodies, and like we need them to guide us to “accepting” ourselves as women. They do this because we are trans men. People have started calling them TWERFs instead, because they like to believe that we are included on behalf of TERFs wanting to change our minds and bodies, and claiming that they will have open arms for us when we’re “done with our phase.” (Being sexualized is especially true of straight trans men. Gay trans men will be constantly subjected to fatphobic stereotypes, and plenty of things that are just “LIBERAL SJW,” misogynistic stereotypes turned around and used against someone who it’s slightly more acceptable to hurt. This is okay to so many people because we are trans men.)
When we point out any ways that we face oppression, we have 500 people screaming that another group has it worse. Depending on the group, they claim that we’re either privileged men or privileged little girls complaining about nothing.
There is no way for us to win in society’s eyes. We are constantly silenced and spoken over, even by some of our siblings. Trans men deserve to be respected. Trans men deserve to be understood. Trans men deserve to be accepted.
Trans men deserve to be believed.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This is a four volume slice of like by Takashi Ikeda about the day to day life of a lesbian couple.

Having worked together and now living together, these two women in love have a nice little life for themselves! Follow this comfortable couple in a heartwarming manga tale about the everyday humor, stressors, and joys of a life shared together. - AniList

I'm not saying that everyone who says "stockpiling HRT will make you go to prison" (despite it being incredibly legal to own medicine your doctor prescribes you) is spreading misinformation to make transmascs feel less safe about staying on T. However I am saying that they're spreading misinformation. And that transmascs will feel less safe about staying on T because of it. Because both of those things are true. You can own medication prescribed to you. And apparently about 15,000 people on this webbed site can't understand that the prescription on the medicine with your name on it means you're owning it lawfully. Y'all are acting like someone said "go buy distribution-level amounts of steroids from street dealers" when she said "ask your doctor to prescribe you a little more so you're less likely to run all the way out".

saying fuck you to jkr isn't enough, I need to make her main character's dad have passionate, loving (and gay) sex with Sirius Black's brother, the character she wrote just to complicate the locket plot.
bonus points if we make either (or both) of them trans.

Last month I had the idea of doing a linocut animation and decided I'd better start with something small and simple. I made a 4x6 grid on an A4 piece of lino, drew the trans symbol and the heart, then transferred my slight changes to the design between sketch paper, tracing paper, and lino until I'd filled in all 24 spaces. Below is the full print - I wanted to have just the right amount of noise/imperfection to keep that traditional flipbook vibe.
