“Idia, love, you’re not going to last long if you keep getting embarrassed.” you giggle, gazing at him adoringly, “Just let me hold you for a little while.”

“Only because it’s your birthday.” he mumbles, arms circling around your waist. He buries his face into your shoulder as if to hide, even though he doesn’t need to.

You drag him out of the shell he’s built around himself, pressing kisses to his temple until he slowly shows you his face, cheeks burning as bright as his hair. You coax him closer, gently leading him hand in hand toward the idea that he is loved, that he is cherished. Your fingers trace his cheekbones and the curve of his jaw, down to his collarbone. You laugh quietly as he squirms when you touch his neck—he’s ticklish, you know this, but you’re also a little bit mean.

The kiss you place on his collarbone is full of reverence. It makes the pink spread closer towards his scalp.

You’ve almost forgotten the purpose of this little game, it’s easy to forget when you’re sitting in his lap as his fingers flex against your waist, his hair fanning out around you like a giant halo and a pair of angel’s wings, enveloping you in their warmth and the promise of forever.

“You’re an angel, Idia.” you breathe, pulling away to admire him.

He freezes when he sees your face, eyelashes fluttering as his lips part. He's so beautiful, really. You could stare at him forever.

“Wh...!? Why are you crying!?” he scrambles to hold your face, frantically swiping the tears away with his thumbs.

You choke back a laugh that sounds more like a sob—how did you not realize? How is it so easy to forget everything but him when he’s near?

“I guess I just love you too much.” you smile, tears rolling down your face, “I love you so much.”

The pink flames reach his scalp.

“That’s such a silly reason.” he says weakly, hands still pressed to your cheeks.

“But it’s mine.” you say back, placing your hands over his, “It’s my reason.”

"what do you want, a cookie?" is probably in his top ten favorite expressions. things to say when he doesn't care about something. and. listen. he cares about you, he does, but he's not really the type to pretend. he'll let you talk about your collection, though. as long as you're happy with him, you won't seek out Idia and become completely intolerable (his words, not mine!)

winter was here, the ground was covered with layers of fresh snow and harsh winds blew mercilessly.

meanwhile, you were holed up with idia in the confines of his room. the two of you huddled close, wrapped in his warm fuzzy blanket.

you watched idia play some games on the screen as your hands wove together flowers upon flowers, as if they were on autopilot.

at one point, you spaced out while still weaving, which made idia turn to you with a confused look.

he had to poke you out of your daze, then sent you a questioning stare.

you only hummed, and tied the stems, finally finishing the flower crown. you then proceeded to place the crown gently on his head.

idia blinked, staring owlishly at you as his hair gradually glowed a pinkish shade.

he knew what those flowers were, they were native to the island of woes after all. he had read about its meanings, too.

as individuals, narcissus flowers represent creativity, inspiration, awareness and inner reflection, forgiveness, and vitality, all of which described him quite accurately. but giving a bunch of them means to ensure happiness and loyalty to your significant other, which was also directing at him.

idia felt as if his heart was doing backflips. he didn't expect to receive such a gift from you, and on the day before his birthday, no less.

looking down, he noticed you made another flower crown that was on your lap. he picked it up and gingerly placed it on your head, a tiny smile formed when he saw the surprise evident on your face.

"whee hee hee... now we're match." you only chuckled with him, feeling a familiar heat rushed to your cheeks.

the two of you decided to binge-watch some anime series, but underneath the blanket was your hands entwined, fingers interlocking as your hearts beat together as one.

Your friends, the first years, gave you scrapbook to hold all your memories, and matching bracelets

The scrapbook has pictures of everytime all of you guys have hanged out together, and some pages are still left empty to fill out more and more memories. The bracelets have all your main colors on each and every one of them, and connect to each other when close by. They have a striped pattern of Red(Ace), Dark Blue(Deuce), Yellow(Jack), Purple(Epel), Light Blue(Ortho), Green(Sebek), Grey(Grim), and [insert your main color](You).

Ace says the bracelets were "Duece's 'stupid' idea" But in all seriousness, he also loves them.

These things are something you can have so if you ever end up finding a way home, you can take it with you to remember them.

For someone who sleeps a lot, he dreams nothing. No dreams when he sleeps whatsoever, which is honestly amazing.

The only time he’ll ever start to dream in his sleep is when he slowly fell in love with you. He dreams of the two of you lying beneath a tree in each others’ arms, looking above the clouds that blanketed the sky while the smile around you both… and he wakes up abruptly in the middle of class. “I’m quite surprise you woke up before I could even call you, Kingscholar,” the professor stated, actually impressed. He scowls slightly, grumbling while having the faintest pink hue dusting his cheeks over how “you” ruined his sleep schedule (which is 25/8-).

Leona can’t sleep without dreaming of something with the two of you together, which makes him less than pleased over the fact he feels strange whenever he has those dreams. It’s confusing him: he doesn’t know if he likes it or not.

He doesn’t avoid you, but he doesn’t tell you that you’re always on his mind even when he closes his eyes. You’re still there with him. Slowly, Leona would come to accept the fact that he does dream of you, in the Afterglow Savana in a dress fit for royalty, you smiling and giggling… he’s more comforted in his sleep when he dreams of you.

But he gets tired. Tired of all that are dreams about you. He wants it reality. He wants this to be real. When he grabs you by the hand and turns you around, emerald eyes calm but masks anxiousness bore into yours. “Herbivore, I love you,” and he prays in his heart deep down that his dreams come true. <3

Ruggie Bucchi

Does he dream? Well, yes, but it’s usually about food. His dreams are pretty much what you expect before you met him: donuts and memories of his childhood with his grandmother. It always makes him happy. All his dreams are related to what makes him happy. And now? He dreams of you, which is slightly overpowering his dreams of millions of donuts he sits on like it’s a throne. Ruggie dreams of you wearing a crown of daisies while you walk over to him, giving him a ring of daisies with a dandelion on the top like it’s a big jewel.

Ruggie doesn’t openly tell you he dreams of you, it’s embarrassing and maybe creepy to tell your friend you were dreaming of them doing some awfully lovey-dovey stuff. You two were friends after all, right?

Somehow, Ruggie can’t help but brew scenarios of the both of you holding hands together, eating donuts in a field of dandelions together, and blowing them into the wind as you laugh joyfully with the wind. He can’t help but smile. However, he also can’t help but dream of the past with you: how you celebrated his birthday with him, when he celebrated yours, when you both went to the Vargas Camp with together… you never failed to make him smile giddily. He subconsciously blushes and closes his eyes, wishing you were really there to experience all that he dreams of.

“Ruggie! There you are!” He whipped his head around to see you, the faint pink blush of his became crimson realising you’re here. Perhaps he could dream another day. <3

Jack Howl

Jack is not much of a dreamer and prefers to realistically look forward to what he can do and what he’s supposed to do, such as watering his cacti and going to class respectively. Again, not really much of a dreamer.

As he falls in love with you, the dreams start to flower in his head, blooming like flowers in his head. He couldn’t help but dream of you in his arms as he takes in your scent and melt into your warmth and press a sweet kiss on your head… errrr… o-or maybe just the two of you watering the cacti in his room together while giggling through the morning. Ah, he feels embarrassed that he’s thinking of such romantic things of his own friend. Jack knows that it’s very clear he has a crush on you, but how should he react?

Whenever Jack dreams, he’ll be slightly dazed with a slight agape, his eyes would be half lidded as his tail swish left and right, dusting the floor. His cheeks pink as he dreams about flowery dreams of you and him together. What’s a wolf gotta do to just tell you straight up he feels so enamoured by you to the point he dreams of you in class. Luckily, he doesn’t get caught but finds himself asking Epel more and more with the latter asking him “You’ve never not paid attention before. What’s up dude? Yer good?” When he confessed to Epel about his dreams of you, the petite boy smirked.

“Yer love em lots Jack. Just tell em and give it a shot. No need to fear Jack yer a good guy and I’m sure they’ll love ya too my man!” He gives a thumbs up, leaving Jack a bit confident and reassured. When he sees you again the next day in class, his heart skipped a beat when he saw you smile at him.

“Jack! You called me here to find you? What’s up?” You laughed a little, smiling warmly at you. “I have something to tell you…” he started, and he breathes in and exhales, cheeks tinted red. Here goes nothing… <3

⋆ December, a time well known for the holiday season, was also the month your beloved boyfriend Idia was born. You had been together for a few years now, the two of you bonding over a shared interest in video games and animated shows. It had been slow going at first, having been friends for a while as your feelings grew for each other. You and Idia didn’t want to risk ruining your friendship by confessing, worried that the other didn’t feel the same way. It was thanks to Ortho stepping in that you two began to date, giving you the push you needed to confess to each other. You were grateful for it, the years you’ve spent together being some of the happiest you could remember. You couldn’t imagine life without him, without the love you share, and without Ortho, who considers you family. 

⋆ You could feel the excitement radiating from Ortho as December 18th approached, both of you wanting to make Idia’s birthday special. You had been planning in secret, not wanting Idia to find out the surprises you and Ortho had in store for him. First was the cake, you and Ortho deciding to make it from scratch this year. It was a fun time filled with laughs as you baked, both of you having flour and frosting on yourselves once finished. The cake was in a flavor Ortho chose decorated with Idia’s favorite candies, Happy Birthday Idia! written in frosting on top. Once the cake was done, you had Ortho distract Idia (making sure he didn’t leave his room) so that you could decorate, hanging up streamers and balloons in his favorite colors. You even got a cardboard cutout of one of his favorite characters, taping a happy birthday sign to their hand to make it look like they’re holding it. You placed the gifts you and Ortho got him in the living room, a few video games and box sets of shows he wanted, along with some merch of his favorite characters. You used the coffee table he has to set up his cake and birthday dinner, having gotten take out courtesy of Azul and the Mostro Lounge. Once everything was set and his apartment decorated you sat on the living room couch, sending Ortho a text. Your heart pounded in anticipation, getting into position as you heard the door to his bedroom open.

⋆ Idia’s day has been great so far, waking up to the smell of Ortho cooking breakfast. At least that’s what he assumed before entering the kitchen, finding you in an apron as you cooked on the stove. You looked up as you noticed him enter, giving him a bright smile as you wished him a good morning. The ends of his hair turned pink, becoming flustered at the domestic sight before him. He couldn’t help but think you were much too radiant for how early in the morning it was, coming up behind you and wrapping his arms around your waist, hiding his face in your hair as you continued to cook. You laughed lightly, knowing how shy Idia still got even after all this time. You enjoyed his embrace as you continued to cook in amicable silence, having him sit at the table when you were finished. You wished him a happy birthday as you sat down his plate, giving him a gentle kiss before making a plate for yourself. Idia couldn’t help but stare in between bites of food, his mind a mess as he thought of what it’d be like to experience this every morning. You had already been spending more time at his apartment, sleeping over often and leaving some of your things here for when you visited. You even had your own key, Idia giving it to you for your anniversary (an idea he got from Ortho).

⋆ As he sat there thinking of what it’d be like if you lived together he was startled out of his thoughts by you trying to get attention, having been talking to him this whole time with no response. He shook his head as he assured you he was alright, nervously explaining he was just thinking of all the games he had to log into today for the birthday login bonuses and gifts. You looked at him, unconvinced, before dropping the subject. Once breakfast was done you told Idia you had errands to do today, assuring him you’d see him later on tonight. You gave him a kiss goodbye before heading out, leaving him alone with his thoughts. After some time he shook his head, going to his room in the hopes of getting his mind off the subject. A few hours later Ortho joined him, Idia silently wondering where he had been all day. As they talked and played games together Ortho suddenly got up, urging him to leave his room excitedly. What he saw once he opened his door was the last thing he had expected.

⋆ You jumped up from the couch and shouted surprise, Ortho shouting as well from behind him, causing Idia to jump. He stood there in shock, looking from the decorations to the presents to the food before looking back towards you, his heart starting to race as he realized all of this was for him. He couldn’t stop the smile from growing on his face as you both told him happy birthday, leading him to the coffee table where his food and cake sat. You all sat around the table, eating and talking. When it came time for his cake Ortho added some candles, lighting them before setting it in front of Idia. You both sang happy birthday to him, Idia blowing out his candles as you clapped and cheered. You ate the cake in between presents, each of you taking turns giving Idia a gift to open.

⋆ With each gift Idia’s excitement grew, and by the time he opened the last one he was itching to start playing some of the new games he got. He gave Ortho a hug, thanking him before giving you one, holding on to you longer as the tips of his hair turned pink. As he held you close he mumbled out his thanks, more of his hair going pink as he told you he loved you. You said you loved him as well, looking up at him affectionately. He looked down at you, unable to meet your gaze as he leaned in to give you a gentle kiss. Ortho made a comment about how cute you two were, making Idia jump and pull away in embarrassment, having forgotten his little brother was there. You and Ortho laughed as Idia hid his face in his hands, Ortho apologizing as he couldn’t resist teasing him.

⋆ You helped Ortho clean up while Idia headed to his room, grabbing his game console to set up in the living room. You sat on the couch as Idia played one of his new games, Idia sitting in the middle while you and Ortho sat on each side of him. You watched him play, cheering and making comments as he progressed. You could tell Idia wanted to show off, making the hardest difficulty in the game look like nothing. You loved seeing Idia like this, confident and in his element. You cuddled up closer to him, resting your head on his shoulder as you focused on him. He was fully immersed in the game until he felt eyes staring at him, looking over to find you staring up at him affectionately from where your head rested on his shoulder. He quickly turned back to his game, stumbling as he grew flustered thinking of how cute you were. He continued to play the game late into the night, not wanting to rest until he beat it. Once he was done he stretched, laughing to himself triumphantly as he looked next to him.

⋆ You had fallen asleep sometime during his gaming, curled up on your side of the couch as you slept soundly. Ortho had already gone back to his room some time ago, leaving just the two of you in the living room. Idia stared at the peaceful look on your face as you slept, debating whether or not he should wake you. He thought about going to his room and leaving you asleep on the couch, not wanting to disturb you. His heart ached at the thought of going to bed without you beside him, his bed feeling empty whenever you’re not there. After some time he decided to wake you, gently shaking you awake. Once you were up you sleepily followed him to his room, changing into one of his shirts before getting in bed. Idia joined you shortly, having changed into pajamas. You both cuddled close to each other, Idia wrapping his arms around you as he buried his face in your neck. You wished him happy birthday one last time before falling asleep, tired from the day and how late it was.

⋆ Idia laid there holding you, listening to you breathe as you slept soundly. The day had been perfect, one of the best birthdays he’s had. But it also left him feeling conflicted, his mind and heart a mess as he realizes that he wants more. He wants to wake up every morning with you there, next to him in bed or in the kitchen having breakfast. He wants you to be the first thing he sees every day, to hear your voice, to feel your touch. He wants to spend time with you, talk with you, eat with you, go to bed with you. He just wants you, in his life, always. These thoughts overwhelm him, leaving him anxious and afraid. He never thought he would feel this way, thinking back to when he was taken by that ghost to be her groom back at NRC. He shuts his eyes, holding you tighter as he tries to calm down, mind racing. He falls asleep that night thinking of you, his heart pounding as he longs for more ♡
