#and Bruce walks in and another one of the kids is like ‘but how??? kidnapping is illegal!!!!’
Text
after seeing a few posts i can’t stop thinking about Bruce’s moral compass and how far it goes like did he refuse to drink underage? did he lecture and was honest to god genuinely upset when he found dick in his latter robin days high as a kite with Wally or something? Does he see litter on the street and pick it up and put it in the trash? Does he wait five minutes at a crosswalk waiting till the traffic light turns red because jay walking is his worst nightmare? In his billionaire playboyness did he refuse to sleep with anyone if they were married? Does he never have a parking ticket because he would rather be late to a board meeting then dare go above the speed limit? Did he go to Tim’s room once and see a one way road sign hung up and covered his mouth in horror because his son stole that?
and i know he separates his Bruce Wayne persona and Batman but like what if the one thing that connects them both is that goddamn moral compass? Like he’s on patrol and sees some kid sneaking out at like 3am from their house and just looms over them with a dead expression until they go back in? He peeps out behind this random guy in the little cubical he works in and gravelly whispers that he needs to move his car from his parking spot. He sees this couple trespassing and throws a batarang before they can go any further as a warning.
and oh my god now I’m imagining that scene from avengers age of ultron like the whole batfam are fighting this big bad and they’re all speaking through the comms and one of the kids a little exasperated is kind of like “you sure we can’t kill?” and batman in a zone kind of says in his dark voice without thinking says “it’s illegal” and then he’s like wait no- and everyone kind of just laughs at him and makes fun of him for it for like his entire life and i just think this is my favourite thing ever

I have decided to continue this post.
It ain't gonna be much of a story but just me putting out my thoughts okay SO.
Damian walks around Gotham with purpose, why? To find Danny of course, after he was finally allowed out of the manor after he healed from their last encounter as Robin and Killer Croc's little follower. He finds Danny where he would normally.
In an alleyway.
They enter their usual song and dance, Danny throwing attacks and Damian redirecting, blocking and occasionally sending back one of his own before Killer Croc just crawls from a nearby sewer. Waylon questions why Damian keeps coming back to fight his nibling, and how Bruce Wayne just lets him go off to do what he's doing now.
Damian does not respond, instead he asks for Killer Croc's permission to take Danny out for today, leaving both mutants (He isn't quite sure if Danny is a mutant, but he has enhanced strength so, maybe) quite surprised. Killer Croc is a bit hesitantly, mostly because he doesn't want Danny out of his sight, but he also thinks it would be good for him to go out and interact with kids his age more.
Even if it's a rich kid.
So he agrees, and Danny gets to go along with Damian for the day and Damian? He doesn't know what to do actually, he came in fully prepared for a refusal and didn't plan that far.
So he takes Danny to a dog park. Then they get ice cream, and then he finds himself chiding Danny over his form and then they're now talking about animals.
And then both Danny and Damian get kidnapped while they were just walking. Which, incredibly rude and Damian doesn't like that he would have to wait for one of his siblings to come save the both of them when they're perfectly capable of its themselves.
But. Well, he has too.
Until Danny seemingly had enough, manages to get himself out of his bindings and throws the first punch, so Damian was obligated to help him at that point. Just as they were about to deal with the last few, Killer Croc busted through a wall and put the fear of Gotham into them.
Then Damian was freed (yes he did fight with his arms bound) he realized it was practically nighttime and he had to go home.
It made a headline, not surprising actually. But they questioned what exactly the relationship Damian, Danny and Killer Crocc had with each other. Not that he actually cared.
He had another, more proper, outing to plan.
Because he wasn't ever going to verbally admit it soon, but he sees Danny as a friend.

The Hades and Persephone AU
So! It had been a coincidence. One of the Rouges Cass had been chasing down had dropped a stray Bullet Casing, and she had managed to miss it as she ran after them. All they could hear through the Comms was her startled yelp as she tumbled 3 Stories, directly onto her Back.
Batman had rushed to the scene, hoping that his daughter was still alive, but when he got there he came across a very different sight. A Tall, shadow covered Knight Carrying Cass in his Arms. Before he could do anything, the Shadow Knight turned away and walked deeper into the Alleyway, were a Lazarus Green Portal stood waiting.
Batman could only watch as his critically injured daughter was kidnapped by some sort of Dark Armored Demon. And into a Portal glowing with the same light as a Lazarus Pit no less.
When he returned to the Cave, Bruce immediately contacted Constantine. Within the Hour, Constantine had arrived and had been lead to the scene where Cass had been taken.
"Well, I don't know what you did to catch their ire but it seems like Orphan was kidnapped by a Realms Being." He explained, "And by the looks of it, by the Right Hand of the Ghost King himself. How did you manage this?"
"Where can we find her?" Asked Batman in a Hard Tone. This was his Daughter, and she had just been kidnapped by Royalty from another Realm. He didn't know why, but they were going to pay.
"Well, the Ghost Zone is a treacherous Realm. Ordinarily I would advise against even considering going there, but I know you will either way."
Constantine gave them Directions to a small town in Illinois, where supposedly a pair of Techno-Mages had managed to open a Permanent Portal the the Ghost Zone. They would have all the Weapons, Armor, and Transportation he would need to venture into the Zone.
Finding the Tecno-Mages was easy (though they preferred the term Ecto-Biologists), and surprisingly convincing them that they needed their help was even easier. Once Batman explained that his Daughter had been kidnapped by a Being from the Zone, they offered their help immediately.
"We understand, if it had been one of our own Kids who had been kidnapped, we would be doing the exact same. If only we could get into contact with our Son, he has connections in the Zone that may be have been useful, but he's been busy for the past few days."
After a day of preparing, the Team was ready to delve into this alternate dimension to save their Missing Family Member.
...
Meanwhile Cass is living out her Mythologically Accurate Romantic Fantasy (I have a headcanon that Cass adores myths). She was basically Kidnapped like Persephone, except it was under very different circumstances.
Basically, David Cain had made a deal with the Previous Ghost King. David would be given access to Fresh Lazarus Pits for the League, and in return the Ghost King would be given his daughters hand in marriage upon her Death. And while Cass was technically still alive, her Near-Death Experience had drawn enough Ecto to her that it pushed her Liminality past the point of Human Limits. She was no longer technically Alive, so the Contract had activated.
Thankfully, when Fright Knight noticed his new Queen-To-Be's condition, he had rushed her to the Far Frozen to be healed. Then he brought her to the Castle and had informed Danny of the development.
Now, Neither of them was really ready to be married, but a Contract like that needed to be canceled by the one who made it. And Pariah was still locked in his Box. So, they had delved into the Ghost Writers Library to see if they could find a Loophole.
And Study Dates have never been so fun.
Even though she isn't ready to be married yet, Cass still thinks that Danny is kind of cute. And she likes his goofy little smile, and his slightly glowing eyes, and his smooth white hair, and-
Oh, that Persephone comparison might have been a little more accurate than she thought...

Social Profile
Brucie Wayne is often invited to charities, galas, openings to future trendy spots, and other similar things that the rich/famous are invited to attend and can't always refuse without social repercussions. Bruce has an algorithm that lets him figure out how many of these things he has to go to in order to most effectively maintain the Brucie mask and do the most good while still being able to have time for Batman/being a social awkward introvert. Bruce helps each of his kids adjust the algorithm to suit each of them and their social batteries and social persona.
The other awkward part of being famous, whether or not they come with a date. Brucie Wayne famously attends with various models, actresses, actors, singers, artists, and Selina Kyle who is a category to herself. The models/actors/actresses etc are chosen based on how likely they are to notice if Bruce sneaks away and how much they're really just wanting to go to an event for their own social networking. Most of them have no physical interest in Bruce but are willing to let people think they slept with Brucie because why not? Bruce is slightly less of a slut than he appears in that he doesn't tend to sleep with civilians though he won't necessarily say no.
Dick goes to events almost exclusively with Barbara, Donna, or Kori or as part of Bruce's group. In a pinch Stephanie might put on some makeup to look older and be his arm candy but he'd have to bribe her a lot. He's able to dodge most events since he has a much lower civilian profile. Dick will always show up as a volunteer for charity events.
Jason laughs at all his siblings and sometimes watches the news reports of events while eating popcorn. In this one situation, it's good to be dead. On occasion he might stage a kidnapping. He will also be on standby to help save the day/provide a distraction if an event where a Bat is attending as a civilian is attacked somehow. He is there as security and a volunteer for charity events.
If Jason is forced back into the limelight, he will claim trauma and be famously a hermit and still stay at home and laugh at whichever sucker is stuck attending while he eats popcorn/watches to make sure that nothing goes wrong. If it's a charity event where something is actually being done, like a walk for charity or handing out things then Jason will be there as one of the volunteers and not as Jason Wayne.
Tim Drake Wayne is stuck going to the most events after Bruce and he is enormously annoyed by the fact. He has his own algorithm. He'll either go to an event as part of Bruce's group or he'll get a member of YJ to come as his arm candy. He, of course, makes sure they have a dress or suit that's appropriate for the evening. Cissie is the one who acts as arm candy for him most often since she can use the events for her own networking and has the most patience for all that nonsense. Bart will do many things for Tim, but he won't do this. He will, however, be ready to extract Tim and Tim's companion at a moment's notice. Cassie, Greta, and Anita will only go if there's going to be really good food or Tim treats them to something extra delicious and an opportunity to beat something up afterwards, Tim also has to pay for babysitters for Anita. Kon is the one who goes with Tim most often after Cissie and he and Tim whisper various commentary to one another about the other attendees. Whoever makes the other laugh out loud picks their next outing together. All of them will show up for charity events, handing out food and drinks or doing whatever, as long as their schedules will allow.
Stephanie, like Jason, watches with popcorn since she's not an official Wayne. She'll sometimes be Tim or even Dick's arm candy but otherwise is suited up and ready to cover the attendee's patrol or save the hapless civilians at a moment's notice. Never has she been more glad to not be famous than after an evening of attending ONE trendy event and being patronized and unable to punch someone the entire evening. She will also be one of the volunteers at charity events that have volunteers.
Cass will accompany Bruce or Tim and then hang out by the food. She has little interest in being at whatever event, unless it's for charity, and is plotting how to be another Wayne family hermit. She does like being a volunteer at charity events.
Duke sticks to Cass at events if he has to go or he sticks to Bruce. He plans to be exclusively the Wayne that goes to charity events, something he'll have to battle with all the rest of the family about since they all would rather be the Wayne at charity events.
Damian, a child, is not looking forward to the various social activities that help maintain a civilian mask. He's torn between being the next Wayne of Wayne enterprises or following Dick's footsteps and going for a lower civilian profile.

playacting by nex_et_nox “So,” Jim said, “are you one of Wayne’s new kids?” Because only siblings acted that way toward each other, and it seemed like every time Gotham turned around, Bruce Wayne was adopting more kids. It was a reasonable question.
“What?” Jay asked. “No, I’m—” He paused. Very slowly, his head tilted as he looked over Jim’s shoulder in the most obvious way he possibly could.

Finding a New Perspective by njw “I got this, Hood.” Red Robin sounds annoyed as he arcs and twists through the air, kicking one henchman into another and wrenching the gun away from a third while simultaneously retracting his grappling line and then launching it to catch another unwary henchman. Just, how?
“I can see you do,” Red Hood says, and wait. Was his voice always that deep? Is he… Maya squints. Is he staring at Red Robin’s ass?
She blinks, then studies the line of sight more closely. Maybe he’s just checking out Red Robin’s kneecaps, in preparation for shooting at them? That seems more his style. Sexual attraction is kind of confusing and she still doesn’t totally believe Tosh that it’s actually as big a thing as people make it out to be—seriously, do other people really spend that much time thinking about it? Sounds fake but okay.
But no, Red Hood’s helmet is totally pointed at Red Robin’s ass. Huh. That’s new. * For the tumblr Jaytim Week 2021 Holiday Gift Exchange. Thanks, Chibi, for putting this all together!

3rd pov
Gwen shot up in bed, panting. The number 7741 was racing through her thoughts. She had finally had another dream. It was a house, red, had a fence surrounding it, and had a tree in front. The number on the house was as 7741. This was the house she knew it. But she had to make sure it was actually the house. She had to make sure it was real.
"Gwenny it's time to wake up." Her father said knocking on her door. Gwen pealed her sheets off of her body and turned her body so that her feet were dangling off her bed. The only thing in her way was going to school. So she decided that she was going to go straight to looking for that house after school. She was determined to find out who the hell was taking all these kids.
Gwen got out of bed and picked out her clothes and got dressed before walking out and into the kitchen. Her brother Finney was already at the table eating a bowl of cereal rather loudly. "You think you could slurp that a little louder? I don't think they can hear you up In boulder" their father said as he peaked behind his news paper. This was a daily accorance for Finney, it seemed like he could never just remember not to slurp. Gwen wanted to reduce the chance of her getting shouted at so she decided on so she decided on a piece of toast.
The entire walk to school both Finney and Gwen were as quite as mice, until they stopped at both y/n and Vance's missing posters taped to a fence side by side. "Have you had any of those dreams Gwen?" Finn asked staring at the missing posters. "Yeah" she mumbled, "they're gonna find her" Finn reassured himself. "They're going to find her." He repeated before he began to continued the walk. Gwen hadn't known how much Finney had liked y/n until a few weeks ago when he started talking about her a lot. It confused Gwen because the two only really talked between class periods, maybe Finn was just too shy and flustered to talk to the girl.
"Are you alright Finney?" Gwen asked as she caught up to her brother. "Yeah I'm fine. Why wouldn't I?" He said. "You know with y/n" she said quietly, "I'm fine Gwen don't worry about me"
"But finne-"
"I'm FINE" Finney replied as he sped up his walking. Gwen sighed as she followed after her brother towards school. She knew her brother hadn't been okay, his friend had gone missing. A friend he just happened to really liked.
"Finney wait up!"
-
Bruce was in a similar situation as Finney. Grief over took his life, his thoughts were about y/n and nothing else. He didn't know if she had died but he knew it was very likely that she had. He tried his best to keep his spirits up, he really did. He put up missing posters, and looked everywhere with his mother and father. No one had seen her. His parents tried to help him, he was starting to become depressed, and anxiety ridden.
"Bruce hun you've gotta go" Mrs. Yamada said as she sat down next to her half asleep son. "I don't want to" Bruce mumbled into his pillow. "I know it's hard for you honey but you have to, we can go out...and look some more after school if you want." She offered. Bruce nodded and turned around, "can you maybe pick me up early?" Normally his mom wouldn't. The yamadas really prioritized education, like every family but she knew what her son was going through so she allowed it. "Yeah, that's fine..just hurry up and get ready you sister doesn't want to be late" Bruce nodded and muttered "mhm" into the pillow. Mrs yamada rubbed Bruce's arm lightly before getting up and leaving the room. Once Bruce had heard the door close he groaned and sat up. He stood up and walked over to his dresser. He stared into the mirror that sat over the dresser. He had large dark circles and tear stained cheeks. His normally smoothed out and styled hair was a mess. He looked miserable because he was. He was miserable without his best friend. He didn't think he'd ever be able to live without y/n. If they ever found out that y/n died bruce had told himself he'd kill himself. He knew y/n would disagree with his decision, y/n would tell him he was stupid and she'd be fine, she be fine without him. He be fine without her, that he needed to stay, for Amy, for his mom and dad. But he didn't think he could, he wouldn't be fine without her.
he wouldn't he just wouldn't.
How could he even be able to, he'd never even spent more than a couple days without y/n. What would he do without her, who would he go to the movies with, or the park. who would sit and watch his baseball games when no one else could make it. Who would throw the ball so he could practice his batting. Who would be there for him.
Yeah he had other friends, but none of them were like y/n. None of them. They were all popular and cared more their popularity than anything else. But y/n she was just her, and that was enough for him. She didn't have to pretend to like his stupid friends, or pretend to tolerate his sister. She just had to be her stubborn beautiful self and he'd always love her. Platonically of course, but Bruce had even starting to rethink the platonic part about their relationship until y/n had go missing.
Bruce groaned as he buried his face into his hands. Why did he have to be going through this, why did she have to go missing. Why her, why not him! Why couldn't the grabber take him instead of her. Bruce groaned as tears rolled down his cheeks, before he wiped them. He took a deep breath in before exhaling shakily. He then slowly dragged open his top drawer and picked out something to wear.
Once Bruce and Amy were ready and down stairs their mother drove them to school. Most parents weren't happy to add another thing to the list of things they had to do before work, but it was better than your child going missing right?
Bruce sat in the front his cheek pressed against the glass. The glass cold against his cheek. It was early October so it was just starting to get cold. "Did you bring those missing posters?" Mrs yamada asked Bruce. He nodded his cheek dragging against the glass. It seemed like the yamadas cared more about finding y/n than the shaws. Max cared yeah but he was drowning himself in endless heaps of coke and vodka. Dawn cared too, she stayed with max and Albert for the week, she put up missing posters from time to time, and helped look, but she had a job, her husband and 2 year old up and Durango as well. while albert didn't care, at all. The yamadas were constantly involved in the search for y/n, as well as constantly putting up missing posters, when a certain somebody took them down.
"I'll pick you up at 12:30."
"What?!" Amy shrieked from the back seat, "you're picking him up early?!" She griped. "The police are conducting another search bruce is going to help" Mrs yamada replied softly. Amy huffed "I wanna help, y/n was my friend too!" Amy didn't understand she was just too young to help. "She’s my best friend, and You're not old enough" Bruce muttered back in response. "I'm 11" Amy muttered before dropping it.
Mrs yamada pulled up to the schools drop off without anymore bickering from her children. "I'll see you two later, I love you!" Mrs yamada called out as both children got out of the car. "Love you!" Amy replied as she sprinted towards the front door.
Bruce walked slowly up to the door, "hey bro!" One of Bruce's baseball friends Ryan said as he walked up next to bruce. "Hey" bruce said quietly, "you're finally back! We've missed you!" Bruce nodded but continued walking towards the door. "How've you been?" Bruce shrugged "fine...I guess" Ryan nodded. "How can we get your spirits up huh? We want normal bruce back" Ryan said patting Bruce's back. "I don't kno-"
"Hey bruce! Bruce yamada!" Bruce quickly turned around to see Gwen blake standing near the end of the sidewalk. "I'll see you later ry" bruce muttered before walking towards the young girl. "What?" Bruce asked as he made it over to Gwen. "I think I know where y/n is" Bruce furrowed his eyebrows together "what?"
"I think I know the house y/n's in i just need to make sure it's right. Do you want to come with me?"
"What do you mean?" He asked his head cocked to the side. "I have dreams and sometimes they're real..now do you want to come or what?"
"Yes, yes of course" Bruce replied. Gwen rolled her eyes and said "okay then meet me at my house after school" before pushing past him and walking towards the school. Bruce sighed softly before turning back around and also walking back towards school.
-
The search had been a fail yet again. The police were already starting to think she was dead. They were looking for a body rather than a live person. Now bruce has begun to ride his bicycle through the light October rain towards the Blake's house. He didn't really believe Gwen about her dreams, but if this was going to helped them find her he was in.
He pulled up to the small house to see Gwen stood outside, with a yellow rain coat on, and her bike parked next to her. "You ready?" She asked, Bruce nodded as the girl dragged her bike over towards Bruce before hopping in. "What was the house number?" Bruce asked.
"7741 it's red with a tree in front"
Bruce had recognized that number and house description, but he didn't know where from. Bruce nodded and both kids began their hunt through the streets of their Denver suburb. They counted the house numbers out loud sometimes pointing out houses that were similar but all didn't have the number until one. One on cherry street across the street from the shaws house.
Both kids came to a slow stop in front of the house, "is that it?" Bruce asked Gwen as she stared at the house. Gwen nodded slowly, "yeah."
Bruce turned his head towards the house across the street, sat in the driveway was alberts black van. "Is that a black van?" Gwen asked, Bruce turned back towards the girl and nodded "yeah why? that's just her uncles."
"My dreams...I saw a black van."
"Bruce? What're you doing out in this rain?"
Bruce quickly snapped around to see a very wet Albert Shaw, it was as if he had been standing out here for hours. "I- we were just riding our bikes" Bruce whispered. "Ah" Albert muttered, "I- I um didn't see you at the search." Albert nodded and carded his fingers through his hair.
"It's just too depressing, you know. Miss her so much, I'd just go into another spiral if I did" Bruce's gut told him albert was lying. Just something, he didn't seem genuine at all, he had a tiny smirk on his lips. If you'd blink you'd miss it, but it was there. "Ye-yeah I know how you feel. Barely been able to get out of bed" Bruce chuckled akwardly.
"How bout you two come inside, I'll drive you guys home." Bruce shook his head, "we're alright, our parents would get pissed if we did you know with the missing children."
Albert rolled his eyes, "yeah but your mom knows me bruce, and I know you're father Gwendolyn I work with him. They wouldn't be mad."
Gwen shook her head "we're fine!" She said harshly. "Let's go Bruce" she said as she hopped back on her bike properly and started to peddle away. Bruce followed still looking back at Albert with his sneaky, sadistic grin on his face.
"It's him" Bruce whispered, "what?" Gwen asked her brows furrowing together. "The grabber, he's the grabber. I just know it."
-
Both kids showed back up at the blake house sopping wet. water dripped off of both of them and onto the kitchen tial as Gwen stood next to the telephone. Phone in hand as she listened to the phone ring. After a few rings the secretary at the police station picked up.
"Hello Denver police department, this is Barbara how may I help you?" The lady on the other end said in a stereotypical costumer service voice. "Um hi I just wanted to talk to detective wright or detective walker?" The lady on the other end sighed as Gwen fiddled with the cord. "I'm sorry ma'am but neither are here currently, and they aren't gonna be back till around 8 tomorrow morning" Gwen groaned "okay fine can you just tell them this is Gwendolyn blake and it's an emergency" before she slammed the phone back onto the receiver.
"What'd they say?" Bruce asked, from his seat at the dinning table. "They're not there we're gonna have to wait till the morning" Gwen sighed as she sat across from Bruce. Bruce groaned "we can't wait till the morning he could kill her in that time!" Bruce whispered.
"Bruce?"
Both Gwen and Bruce turned to face Finney who stood in the hallway. "What are you doing here?"
"We were just riding bikes Finn" Finney furrowed his eyebrows together, questioning why someone his age was hanging out with his 11 year old sister but decided to shrug and walk back towards his room. "So tomorrow come here first, we'll call and then go towards the house. K?"
-
"What do you even keep down there Al?" Dawn asked. Both Albert, and dawn sat at the dining table talking. It was about 8 o'clock at night, and the next day dawn had to go back home, so why not try and catch up with your ex brother-in-law. "Nothing..nothing that should interest you" Albert said as he took a sip of his beer. Dawn furrowed her eyebrows, "how are you doing, you know with y/n" albert asked changing the subject. "I don't...I guess I'm just kind of numb. Didn't think he'd let that happen to her" she whispered. "I know max can be a bit of a Jackass sometimes. I've been trying to get him quit and stuff but he just won't" Albert whispered back as he leaned back in his chair. Dawn nodded slowly, "if they find her, I'm thinking of going for full custody"
They weren't going to find her, Albert was sure of it. He was going to kill her, and they'd give up on the search. But he still had to pretend. "You-you'd still let her see me right?" Albert stuttered out. Dawn chuckled lightly "of course she adores you." Albert grinned "I'm her favorite uncle."
"You're her only uncle Al" she laughed.
"I still wanna know what you keep down there Al." Dawn pried "you don't" Al whispered. Dawn furrowed her eyebrows together "I'm going to bed" Albert quickly said before getting up and walking towards. Dawn furrowed her eyebrows together as her eyes followed albert down the hall. Albert had been acting rather strange and well suspicious during the time dawn had been here.
Once she heard alberts bedroom door close she stood up and slowly began to walk towards the stairwell. She stood at the top of the steps and gazed down at the large metal door at the bottom. She sighed before she started down the step. Once she was at the middle of the stairwell she fell a sharp pain in her back. She tried to turn around but she couldn't. "I really liked you dawn" she heard before the person behind her pushed her causing her to tumble down the stairs. She hissed as she landed on her back now seeing Albert above her. A knife in hand, and a mask covering his face. "But you're too nosy" he said as he began to stalk towards her. "Al-albert?" She stuttered out.
Albert chuckled as he kneeled down next to the whimpering woman. "I'm sorry" he whispered before raising the knife over his head "please don't do this al" dawn cried out before he plunged the knife down into her chest causing her to let out a loud scream. Albert was grateful max was out with his friends because she was being obnoxiously loud. "Shut the hell up she's gonna hear you" Albert whispered as he continued to drive the knife into her until she was no longer screaming, or moving. He groaned as he stood up discarding the knife onto the floor. The knife clattering as it hit the floor. "God dammit" he muttered as he looked down at his now blood soaked clothing.
He bent over and picked up dawns now lifeless body and walking back up the stairs. He lied her down onto the dinning table before walking out to his back yard to grab his rolling garbage can that he normally transported his dead victims from this house to the one he buried them in. He quickly stuffed the body into the can and cleaned all the blood off of him he could before dragging the can over to the other house.
He dug the key out of his pocket and unlocked the door before dragging the can inside and closing the door back. He opened the can back up and picked her body back up before quickly walking towards the basement. He hurriedly buried her before getting out of there. He couldn't risk being seen.

Y/N's pov
Vance and I sat on the mattress when we heard a loud thud outside the door. Vance was half asleep but he quickly jolted awake. "What was that?" Vance whispered. I shrugged "dunno" I secretly hoped it was someone to help us. I wasn't confident I was able to kill him. Then I heard it a shrill scream. Someone screaming bloody murder outside the door. If it was someone to help them they weren't going to help anymore. I flinched and scooter closer towards Vance. It was a woman I could tell from the high pitched screams
I buried my head into Vance's shoulder trying to block out the noise. Then suddenly it stopped. Silence. For about 20 minutes before we heard the metal door open.
"Who was screaming?" I asked as Albert stepped into the room. His hair damp so he had obviously tooken a shower. "What screaming?" He asked I could hear the smirk through his voice. "I heard someone screaming. Who was it?" Albert began to walk towards Vance and I. He kneeled down "none of your business" he whispered in my ear. His breath was hot against my ear dispite his mask blocking some of his mouth.
Vance tensed up next to me. I stuttered as albert pulled away from me. "Did you kill them?" I whispered hesitantly. He chuckled but didn't answer the question, he just brought his hand up to my cheek. He caressed my cheek softly with he thumb before whispering "you're so pretty when you're scared" I screwed my eyes shut trying to throw away the nausea and unconsciousness I felt. "Are you gonna kill us?" I asked impulsively. He laughed again. "You?maybe. him? Definitely."

little situation | part 1.
Summary: For years, HYDRA had been trying to use the samples of Steve’s DNA to make another super-soldier. They finally succeed and when S.H.I.E.L.D. breaks her out, Cap is forced to come face to face with his kid and figure out parenting on an Avengers’ lifestyle.
Warnings: maybe potential childhood trauma but nothing really
Pairing: Steve Rogers x blackdaughter!reader, avengers x child!reader (all clearly platonic and I’m only making that note on the first part)
Word Count: 2.4k
(Series Masterlist)
Tumblr media
The absolute last thing the Avengers wanted to see in a busted down shawarma shop was a pristine looking Nick Fury. They sighed and took aggressive bites of their food as the Director stepped into the restaurant, trying to avoid the rubble.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your fun—”
“Are you really?” Tony cut him off but Nick continued as if he didn’t.
“You’re needed back at S.H.I.E.L.D. we have a little situation involving Cap.”
“Little situation?”
“About, ye big.” Nick held up a hand at a height in between his chest and waist.
No one knew what the hell he meant. They took final bites and dragged their bodies from the chairs and followed Nick. Thor, Steve, and Bruce were already feeling less tired making the other three Avengers a little jealous as they made their way to headquarters. Nick guided them to the large conference room and left for a brief moment. When he returned, the newly formed Avengers looked at the kid tucked behind him. Your hair was tangled and matted which stood out against the small S.H.I.E.L.D. t-shirt turned dress you wore that had you looking relatively clean… and you were barefoot?
“Oh, an actual little situation. When in the hell did you get a kid?” Tony asked.
“She’s not mine dumbass, that’s where Captain Rogers comes in.”
The team turned to look at Steve who seemed just as shocked and confused. Nick pointed you to the empty chair beside Steve. You quietly walked over, hands clasped behind your back, and sat down. You pulled the chair into the table and only looked at Nick, not knowing anyone else in the room. Although you barely knew the director, but a few hours was more than the rest of the people at the table.
There were two thoughts going in the Avengers’ heads. One, how the hell did Steve have a child who was clearly too old to be right after he was taken off ice. And two, you looked absolutely nothing like Steve. Brown hair, skin, and eyes. Everything opposite the Abercrombie & Fitch poster boy.
“Miss Rogers was rescued from a HYDRA facility, an attempt at reopening the Red Room. Along with Dr. Erskine’s stolen notebooks apparently some of your DNA was also stolen, Cap. Miss Rogers is the first child to survive after birth.”
“You’re positive she’s the only one?” Clint asked, his fatherly instincts already kicking in.
“Yes. While we couldn’t recover Dr. Erskine’s files, we found their logs. None of the other children seemed to survive, inheriting some of Cap’s ailments from before the serum or their mothers died before giving birth.”
Steve shifted uncomfortably. “And when we say DNA…”
“Dr. Erskine ever hand you a cup not for a drug test… your silence answers that for me. We’ll gladly do a paternity test again with you here but from the swabs when we defrosted you, it’s a match.”
Nick tossed a file to Steve and pulled up the same one on a screen for the rest of the team to see. Steve flipped through it, seeing your age. Twelve. Born at the turn of the new millennium. According to the file, HYDRA picked your mother based on IQ— apparently one that could rival Tony or Bruce— kidnapping her when on a graduate trip to Russia. You were supposed to be the perfect combination of the best attributes… and then they killed your mother in front of you when you were old enough to process death. HYDRA spent years trying to break you so they could send you into the Red Room and remold you as the perfect spy. But instead of breaking you, they just made you retreat into your shell.
“Miss Rogers did inherit some of your former ailments, Cap. Partial deafness and color blindness.”
“You were color blind?” Nat asked at the same time Clint asked about him being deaf.
“Yeah, born deaf in my right ear and deutan color blindness. Made it hard to tell the difference blue and purple most times, not too bad. The asthma and scarlet fever was a lot worse.”
Steve looked back at your file and saw it was recorded that you had moderate deafness also in your right ear, which was the current side of your face he was staring at, but you were hard of hearing in the other. Your color blindness was the same as his. He frowned as he searched for an identification other than Rogers. He tapped you on the shoulder and you turned to look at him.
“What’s your name? They didn’t include it.”
“001.”
Steve looked back at the table. “You’re kidding, they didn’t even… your mother didn’t name you?”
“They wouldn’t let her.”
“Do you have one you’d like?”
You just shrugged and looked at the floor before looking back up realizing you’d need to read his lips for ease of conversation.
“Is Sarah okay?”
You nodded.
“That was my mom’s name… do you know your mother’s?”
You brought your knees up and grabbed them as the tears started. Quickly you panicked and wiped them away mumbling sorry. Steve almost reached out and then pulled back, thinking it was a bad idea. You were used to getting hit by agents at the facility if you cried.
“No one’s going to hurt you here for showing emotions,” Natasha spoke up, hoping that you would hear a little bit since your head was currently buried. She knew exactly what you were going through.
You kept crying and they knew you didn’t. When your knees brushed against the table, Clint started knocking on it. The vibrations made you look up at him and he tapped his own ears, drawing your attention to his hearing aids. Clint signed what Nat had said.
“Elise,” you said looking back at Steve.
“Alright, Sarah Elise Rogers. That sound good to you?”
When you nodded, Steve seemed satisfied. They disbanded and he pulled Tony and Clint aside. Right away, Tony agreed to getting you fitted with hearing aids like Clint only in a color that worked for you. And Clint agreed to help him with sign language.
“I thought you would’ve known a bit.”
Clint was sitting outside the lab with Steve, watching Tony fit you with hearing aids.
“My mother told me to read lips and always turn to the left. She was Irish and a single mom, she didn’t want another reason for people to look down on us.”
“I’m sorry man… are you sure you can take care of a kid? Don’t tell anyone else I told you but I’ve got a small family farm, my wife and I don’t mind another little one running around. Well, older one. She beats Coop by barely two years.”
“Thank you. I don’t know if I can do it at all but I don’t think I should leave her. She needs at least one of her real parents.”
“Commendable, Cap. You ever need any help, don’t hesitate to ask.”
“Let’s hope I don’t mess the kid up.”
“Anything away from the Red Room is already an improvement for her.”
Tony pressed the button on your (f/c) aids to turn them on.
“How’s that… too loud?” He said as you clutched the left ear.
Tony readjusted it to account for the fact that your left side wasn’t as bad as your right.
“How bout now kid?”
You blinked rapidly and looked around.
“Should I be able to hear them outside the lab?”
“You can hear them?!”
Tony apologized when he saw how quickly you hung your head after he yelled. He had to reassure you that you weren’t in trouble and he wasn’t yelling out of anger at you but surprise. Tony left you in the lab and walked out with a set of hearing aids. He shoved them into Clint’s hand and the man automatically began exchanging his for the new ones.
“Sarah? Start talking,” Tony said at a normal level. “Clint, can you hear her?”
“No, why?”
“Turn it all the way up, now?”
“Still nothing.”
“Steve can you hear her?”
“Yeah no problem. Why?”
“Cause once I put the hearing aids on she could hear you two. Your ailments from before are like a layer on top of the serum but once peeled back she’s just like you… better watch what you say when the kid has them in.”
“Thank you, Tony. Both of you. Sarah, let’s go,” he called into the lab.
The three men watched you hop down from the table and enter the hallway, the too large shoes that had been given to you by a random agent flopping about. Tony and Clint stayed back and looked on as Steve gently placed a hand on your shoulder to guide you with him out of the building. It was the weirdest picture but if anyone could pull it off, they thought it might be Steve.
~~
“It’s not much, but I wasn’t expecting a second person exactly,” Steve said as he opened the door to his D.C. apartment.
You two had landed from New York when it got dark outside.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled an apology.
“Nothing to be sorry for Sarah. You stay right here, get comfortable. My house is our house now.”
Steve left to knock on his neighbor’s door, hoping the blonde woman would be there and not already starting the night shift of her hospital job. A few knocks later and she opened the door.
“Hi, Steve.”
“Hello Kate, um, this is going to be weird but I have a kid and her mom’s passed so she’s living with me now but I don’t have anything for a little girl. Would it be at all possible— just for tonight and maybe tomorrow morning— then we’ll go shopping,” Steve stumbled over his words.
“How old?”
“She’s twelve.”
“Hmm, let me check real quick. I’m bound to have some smaller items.”
His neighbor came back with more than enough for the night and next morning. She handed them to Steve with a warm smile.
“Thank you so much.”
Steve returned to find that you hadn’t moved from where he had left you. Still frozen in place, hands behind back.
“You don’t have to wait for me to say anything. This really is your place too now Sarah. Here, the bathroom is the middle door. You hungry?”
You nodded and took the pile of clothes to the guest bathroom. Steve started scrambling around to find something to make. He realized that even though it was late, most pizza places were still open so he placed an order for a simple large cheese pizza— half with pepperoni. Steve wasn’t sure if HYDRA had ever given you a pizza so this seemed like a treat? He liked pizza when he was twelve, still did now.
The smell alone of food could’ve lured you out of the bathroom. You were wearing his neighbor’s small zip up hoodie and old leggings. Steve sat down on the couch and opened the big box, beckoning you over to sit down and eat.
“Sarah? You’re not at HYDRA anymore, I won’t hurt you or let others hurt you. You don’t have to be afraid alright?”
“Alright.”
“You’re lying,” he chuckled when you looked up. “I used to lick my top lip too, right before a lie.”
“I’m so—”
“And we don’t have to apologize for something that’s not that big a deal or we didn’t do wrong. Listen, I have no clue what I’m doing and I’m sure your mother would’ve been a thousands times better but you’re mine and I’m gonna take care of you alright.”
“Alright.”
Steve sat back, knowing you told the truth. “I have shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair, get those tangles out.”
You looked down at the pizza slice. “I already tried.”
Steve looked at your hair. It wasn’t just matted, it wasn’t completely curly. He could see straight ends and bits that didn’t look as shiny as the others. Steve didn’t know anything about your hair but he was sure that it shouldn’t look like that. You knew it too.
ASL was the only thing about you that HYDRA accommodated to— but even then you were mainly yelled at and forced to read lips. But your hair, not taken care of. Your skin and nutrition, not taken care of like it should’ve been. And they never gave you hearing aids, just forced you to strain your left ear in attempts to hear them.
“I want to get rid of it,” you said after a moment. “All of it.”
“Okay, I have clippers in my bathroom. Do you want to do it now?”
You nodded and set down the pizza. Steve walked into his bathroom and you followed closely behind. He searched his lower cabinet for the clippers. Making sure the guard was on, he plugged in the clippers. Steve moved you to stand in front of him and he very carefully glided the clippers through your hair. You watched yourself in the mirror as the damaged curls hit the bathroom floor.
Steve looked at you through the mirror and then focused back on your hair. He was so unsure how he found himself in this situation, well he knew how but it was still overwhelming. Taking care of a kid was something he had never done before. He was an only child and sure he babysitted Bucky’s younger sister before but that was with Bucky. And you weren’t his younger sister but his actual kid.
You ran a hand over your newly shaven head. It was a close cut but not completely squeaky clean bald. It felt weird but also like a weight was lifted off of your shoulders. Like you could start over with… you didn’t know what to call Steve. He didn’t say.
“What do I call you?”
“Um, I haven’t really thought about that. Whatever you want.”
Steve waited for a suggestion from you but you said nothing. He patted your shoulder and moved to get a broom to sweep up the hair on the floor. You stared at yourself while he was gone. Maybe it was because of how you looked but you still didn’t expect Steve to be your dad. You knew how genetics worked, of course it was more likely that you looked like your mother than your father but you couldn’t see a single bit of physical resemblance to Steve. Well there was one but right now it wasn’t too noticeable. Captain America’s genes were very strong, which was kind of the point. The one physical thing was the lighter hair. Constantly dyed a dark brown almost black, your hair was actually honey blonde like Steve’s.
“You can take the bed,” Steve said as he swept the floor. “The guest bedroom has nothing in it right now. Goodnight, Sarah.”
“Night.”

I know the reason why the grabber is a kidnapper in the movie is completely different but i Just got this idea, the reason why the grabber kidnaps kids is because him and reader wanted to be a family (but everytime they tried to adopt a kid on the legal way they always got denied in the process) so basically both of them are too out of their minds at this point with wanting a family to realize that kidnapping is wrong (and each time the grabber kills a kid was because they were either "mean" to their new "parents'" or "imperfect")
Ok I altered the request to them not killing the kids cause then Reader would be a horrible person, instead they’re all alive down there in the basement and Reader is just mentally ill
Content/Warnings: Accomplice!Reader, F!Reader, Mentally ill and infertile Reader, Light stockholm on the kids side
The Grabber Drabble: Kidnapping kids for you cause you‘ve been denied adoption
Tumblr media
All you ever wanted together was to become a family, but everything you tried failed. You were denied a family when the Doctors told you that you were infertile, you were denied a family when you were denied adoption because they found out about your mental health problems- his and yours.
The day he first brought a child home to you felt like the most beautiful day in your life despite the shock. Finally you had that child in your lives that you‘ve been wanting to take care of so badly.
The Grabber was happy to see you bloom with excitement every time you cooked for the boy, making him taste it beforehand and wondering if he would like it.
You had been Grocery shopping any experimenting with cooking books to make something special, something that would make him feel at home.
But of course Bruce didn’t want to be here, so he had spilled all the food out if spite. You gasped, standing there in shock for a moment before you carefully scraped everything up and put it on the tablet, your eyes filling with tears over his denial.
„It’s ok..“ you mumbled, fighting with the tears, „I‘ll make you something new later. Maybe you‘ll like that better.“
Bruce felt a little bad when he saw you like that, reminding him that it was the Grabber and not you who had kidnapped him even though you were certainly an accomplice.
Tears rolled down your face when you came back up and it made your partner’s heart sink to see that, you had to stop him from going down there and disciplining the boy for making you cry.
„It’s not his fault. He doesn’t feel at home yet, he’s just scared.“
The Grabber kidnapped another kid, a boy again because the two of you had always dreamt of having a son first, and you tried again so hard. And with every child he took for your family to grow with you were so incredibly happy.
When you talked to them about him you would calm him their father, telling them how they might not see his good side yet but that at heart he was an incredibly kind man. It filled him with so much warmth.
Anytime you would talk about the kids with him, about how you would pick up groceries or remind him to get a new mattress for your new son it had something so fulfilling. Like you had finally found what had been missing.
One time the boys had held you hostage, had overpowered you planning to make the Grabbed let them go in return for you. You didn’t even defend yourself against them, scared to hurt them if you did. So you had just sat there, asking what you did wrong. If they didn’t like your cooking or if it wasn’t comfortable enough for them.
„I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough for you.. I understand that you want to go home.“
You couldn’t help but cry a little, and that was when the boys exchanged glances, feeling bad for you and this idea.
„Hey.. Lady..“ one started carefully, „You’re not the problem, you’re really nice. You.. would be a really good mother.“ The other ones nodded and you sobbed quietly, smiling sadly at them.
The door opened upstairs and the Grabber walked down, „Is your mother here? What’s going on?“
He saw you sitting midst the kids, looking so terribly sad again but you calmed them before he could get mad at them. Standing up you went up to hug him and closed your eyes,
„It’s ok dear, they comforted me. They are such good boys, such sweet children.“
He shot a doubtful glance at the boys but he let it be, not mentioning to you how one of them had almost succeeded at escaping.
You would be heartbroken if you knew that, and you would probably let them go too. Because you always cared so much more for the happiness of the people you loved than your own.
Giving you the family you always wished for was a way for him to repay you for all the kindness you had shown him as well despite all the darkness he harbored.
He would make this work- for you.

Loki was heading out on a mission with Thor and Bruce, as they were heading down the corridor Natasha and Wanda were heading towards them, with a new face. A young woman, but she was wearing a large hoodie with the hood up.
Though when they passed by, she looked up and Loki caught a glimpse of her face. Her eyes were full of terror, of so much pain and sadness.
‘Who’s that?’ Loki asked Thor and Bruce as the women kept walking.
‘Not sure. But I know Jessica Jones was here earlier with someone.’ Bruce shrugged.
‘Let’s focus on the mission, we can find out when we return.’ Thor said.
‘Mmm.’ Loki hummed and nodded.
But he struggled to focus on the mission entirely, though luckily it was relatively easy. He kept thinking about that woman he’d seen. What had she been through? Who was she? Where did she come from?
When they got back home to base, Natasha had called for a team meeting straight away. Loki lurked in the back, as he usually did. Normally just rolling his eyes during the team meetings. But this one, this one was different.
‘Some of you might have noticed we have a new guest.’ Natasha started. ‘Her name is Grace, and she’s here for protection.’
‘Protection from what?’ Loki asked.
Natasha looked at him and narrowed her eyes. ‘Let me finish and I’ll tell you.’
Loki folded his arms over his chest and tried to keep his mouth shut and not retaliate.
‘She’s here for protection, from a dangerous man. Called Kilgrave. He has mind control powers, whatever he says, people do. If he tells someone to put a bullet in their skull, they do it. No hesitation. If he tells someone to dig a hole with their bare hands through concrete, they try and do it until their hands are bleeding raw. If he tells someone to shut up, they shut up and don’t say a word. They physically can’t. It’s terrifying what this man can do and has done.’
‘You’re joking, right?’ Tony said in disbelief. ‘No way some average guy can have powers like that.’
‘I’ve seen the proof.’ Natasha snapped at him. ‘I believe Jones, she wouldn’t have a reason to lie to us. She’s been under his control before, too. But she got lucky. She wants us to keep Grace here, until she has taken Kilgrave down… Grace has been through hell and back, multiple times. I’m not going to tell you what he’s made her do, it’s not my place to tell.’
Stark ran a hand down his face. ‘So, we are keeping some girl here because apparently, she’s been under control by a guy that has made her do, what, exactly?’
‘As I said, that’s not my story to tell.’
‘You’ve taken her in here and we have no idea what she’s capable of, or done, that could be questionable?’ Tony continued to argue.
Natasha was about to answer back but Loki butted in again. ‘Haven’t we all done questionable things in the past, Stark?’ He hissed at him.
‘Yeah, you especially.’ Tony grumbled.
‘I have and we all know that. But we all know that each and every one of us, has a past. I believe her, I saw it in her eyes.’ Loki continued.
‘Saw what?’ Steve asked him.
‘The pain and horrors of not being in control of your own mind.’ Loki sighed.
The team looked around one another. They’d all experienced having their mind played with, but none of them had ever done anything quite as bad as Loki… And now, Grace.
‘I doubt she will make an appearance for a while, she doesn’t trust, for obvious reasons. She’s been stuck with Kilgrave only pretty much, for a long time.’
‘How long was she with him for?’ Thor asked.
‘Seven years.’
Loki’s eyes widened. ‘What? She looks young, she must have just been a kid when he took her?’
‘She’s twenty-six. She was still a kid when he took her, more or less.’ Natasha nodded.
‘Jesus. At that age, she’s missed out on so much.’ Bruce said.
‘Exactly. So we need to try and make her feel welcome here, and while we need to protect her we need to try and help her get her life back.’
Everyone looked between each other, nodding in agreement. Even Tony reluctantly agreed.
‘He will be looking for her.’ Steve said.
Natasha nodded. ‘I’d say so. Jessica said that he would be pissed at finding her gone, especially after such a long time. But she is going to try and get his spotlight back onto her, to get it off Grace. But we need to be prepared in-case he does come this way.’
‘That asshole won’t get anywhere near her again.’ Clint said firmly.
That was something everyone agreed on.
-
Grace had been pacing back and fore for the past hour, it was the day after she’d arrived at the Avengers base. Part of her was scared to leave her room, but another part of her was even more scared at remaining in there on her own.
It left her alone with her thoughts, thoughts she didn’t want to have. Memories she didn’t want to think about. She was worried about what she might do if she stayed on her own.
Natasha had said to her when she was ready to just take a look around, that she would introduce her to the team.
Even though she was shaking, a complete bag of nerves, she made her way out of her room and headed down the corridor. She didn’t really know where she was going, but she vaguely remembered Natasha telling her a rough direction of where to go. But her mind was so clouded she ended up going the wrong way.
But she came to a huge window that looked out to the back of the base. There was a massive walled garden, hedging inside that sectioned off different sections of it, including a decent size green house and poly tunnel. The whole place was overgrown and obviously hadn’t been looked after in a few years.
It was completely different to the front of the place, where the lawn was immaculate and the drive all neat.
‘It’s a disaster zone out there, isn’t it?’ Came a smooth voice from behind Grace, making her jump.
She spun around, eyes wide like saucers. She had to crane her neck to look up at who was speaking to her, he was really tall. She realised quickly it must be Loki, one of the Gods. She knew of Thor from the myths, but he had blonde hair whereas this one had black hair. So she deduced it was his brother.
‘Apologies, I didn’t mean to sneak up on you.’ Loki said quickly. ‘I’m Loki.’ He held his hand out towards her.
Grace eyed up his hand suspiciously, but didn’t take it. ‘I… I’m Grace.’ She whispered.
Loki retracted his hand and nodded. ‘Nice to meet you, Grace.’ He stepped towards the window next to her, but didn’t get too close to her, respecting her space. ‘Stark fired the gardeners that tended to all that a few years ago, he never got round to hiring more. A shame really, we used to get some nice fresh vegetables from there.’
Grace was wary, though she wasn’t sure why. She knew that she was safe surrounded by superheroes. Jessica told her about all their powers, what they could do. Wanda had mind manipulating powers, so did Loki. But not in the same way as Kilgrave.
But it was going to take her time to trust again. If she could even trust herself. She felt so, weird and empty.
‘I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting to see you out and about so soon.’ Loki said after a moments silence between them.
‘I don’t know if I’m more scared being on my own or with strangers.’ She admitted.
Loki nodded. ‘It will take time, if you weren’t in control for so many years, it will be strange at first. But you’ll get there.’
Grace turned towards him, getting a moment of bravery to look up at him directly. ‘How do you know?’ She asked, her voice shaky.
Loki gave her a soft smile. ‘Because I’ve been there… well, similar. And if I can pull through it and get out of the darkness, so can you. You’re a strong one, I can tell.’
She actually felt like crying from how kind he seemed to be.
‘I… I’m not so sure about that.’
‘You’ll be doubting everything. Was what you did your own doing, or was it really from someone else? Your own inner demons are the hardest fight, but keep holding on. Take it one step at a time, you will get there. You will beat this guy.’
Grace looked back out the window, she really didn’t know what to say. How did this God have so much confidence in her when she didn’t have any in herself, and he didn’t even know her. She wasn’t sure whether she should be suspicious of him or not. But then, that’s what Kilgrave would want her to think of other men. To think that no one else out there would be nice and help her.
He really had isolated her from everyone.
‘Do you want to come and meet the bumbling idiots that people call The Avengers?’ Loki offered.
Grace nodded. ‘Yeah… ok.’
The Avengers were shocked when they saw Loki walk into the common room with Grace. Out of everyone, they didn’t expect Loki to actually be nice and polite towards her.
Natasha introduced her to them all. She awkwardly said hi to them.
‘Thank you… for letting me stay here.’ She said quietly.
‘It’s no problem. We will make sure you’re safe here.’ Clint smiled at her.
‘I’ll give you the code and access app to download onto your phone, so you can access the main doors whenever you need.’ Tony said, pulling out his phone.
‘Oh… I uhm… I don’t… I don’t have a phone.’ Grace said, rubbing the back of her head. ‘I don’t have much of anything, actually.’ She looked down. ‘He took my belongings off me… a long time ago.’
The team fell silent.
‘No need to worry. I’ll get you a laminate to keep on yourself.’ Tony said.
‘Thanks.’ Grace said.
‘Bruce is cooking up his famous fajitas for lunch. Join us!’ Thor beamed happily, then realised what he said. ‘I mean, only if you want to. You don’t have to…’
Loki rolled his eyes and face palmed.
‘You don’t need to watch what you say… I know… I know that you don’t mean it in the way he would… Though it will take some time for me to get used to, too.’ Grace gave Thor a small smile, knowing he didn’t mean any harm at all.
‘I uhm, I think I’ll just take something back to my room to eat, if that’s ok?’ She looked around everyone.
‘Of course it is. You don’t need to ask, you do what you want to do.’ Steve said.
Grace nodded. She waited there with the others for ten minutes while Bruce finished making fajitas, then he dished some up for her.
‘Thank you…’ Grace turned to leave the room, but she stopped. ‘Uhm… I can’t… I can’t remember which way to go.’ She said sheepishly.
‘I’ll walk you back.’ Loki offered before anyone else could, heading over towards her.
As they made their way down the corridor, Loki noticed her hands were shaking as she carried her plate. The more she tried to focus on her hands to stop, the worse they became.
‘What’s your favourite kind of food?’ Loki asked, looking ahead instead of at her, not wanting to make her feel more awkward.
‘I’m not too fussy.’ Grace shrugged. ‘I… I had to eat whatever was put on front of me, really… But pasta dishes are my favourite.’
Loki felt sad for her. He couldn’t imagine being told to eat whatever was put down on front of you, with no say in that matter, for seven years.
‘Thanks for taking me back to my room… Hopefully tomorrow I won’t get so lost.’ Grace said awkwardly when they reached her room.
‘My pleasure.’ Loki smiled and bowed his head slightly. ‘If you need anything at all, someone is usually around, so just call out.’
‘Thanks.’ Grace nodded and headed into her room, taking a big deep breath once she got in there.
-
‘You need to watch what you say.’ Clint said to Thor as they all sat down for dinner.
‘I didn’t mean’ Thor started but was cut off by Loki.
‘Tip toeing around our words will only make her feel more awkward. She wants to get back to normal, which includes people flippantly saying things that they don’t mean as an order, as it would if Kilgrave had said it.’
‘I hate to say it, but Loki’s right.’ Wanda said.
Loki smirked as the team all grumbled, reluctantly agreeing.
‘How are we going to be prepared if Kilgrave comes looking for her?’ Steve asked.
‘I’ll speak to Jessica again, see if she has eyes on him. We need to understand how his powers work, so we can contain him if necessary.’ Natasha said.
‘Or we just kill him before he gets a chance to open his mouth.’ Loki snarled.
‘I’m with Loki, it sounds like this man doesn’t deserve to live.’ Thor said with a mouthful of food.
‘That’s not for us to decide.’ Steve said. ‘We can’t become as bad as him, if he comes here, we trap and imprison him. Then we hand him over to Jones to do with as she sees fit.’
Everyone went quiet and just continued to eat. They clearly weren’t going to agree on a way of dealing with Kilgrave if he did come looking.

BMFBMLBME Chapter 23
Superman hovered nervously by Batman’s shoulder, wanting to reach out to his friend but not wanting to overstep.
“Bruce… You should head to bed.” Superman said softly, hesitantly resting a hand on his friend’s shoulder.
Batman shrugged him off, focused on the screen of the bat computer as he rewatched the security footage from the day of Damian’s kidnapping.
He must’ve watched this video a thousand times by now.
Damian had been walking past the park, sending the occasional glance over his shoulder as he walked. Something flew into view, hitting him on the neck. Damian pulled out the small dart, threw it on the ground, and tried to run.
He ran past an alleyway before being dragged into it, fighting to get away the entire time.
Someone from the group broke off, picking up the dark and taking it with them as the group still fighting Damian put a bag over his head.
His son was thrown in a car and then the EMP had gone off, frying all electronics in a 10-mile radius for nearly 7 minutes.
By the time they had gotten the camera’s back online, and had realized Damian was missing, it was too late.
The original car had been abandoned, so they must have switched cars, he’d looked into stolen vehicles, but they had all led to dead ends.
Mostly just cars that were stolen and abandoned for what he could only assume was for joyrides.
There were no erratic or suspicious drivers, any that had been noticed had immediately been caught and questioned.
None of them had any ties to the kidnapping.
Damian’s tracker had gone offline when the EMP went off, it had been found an hour later, at the bottom of Gotham harbor.
They had gone as far as to dive for it, fearing that they would find his body.
The tracker had been in a metal box filled with rocks, along with his phone and any other electronics he’d had with him.
They’d tracked down all of the smuggling rings they could find, human or not. Rouges were interrogated, common criminals questioned.
Not a stone had been unturned, every trail had been hunted to their ends, every possible hint had been tracked down and bled dry of information.
Months of obsessive searching had gotten them no where.
They had barely been paying attention to Gotham, most patrols dedicated to searching for clues, every case they took had some possible tie to Damian’s case.
On one hand, most of Gotham knew the bats were distracted.
On the other hand, they also knew that the bats were very short on patience.
Even though the bats didn’t do as much for the city at large as they used to, the crime rate had still decreased.
Word spread quickly in a city like Gotham.
Nightwing wasn’t smiling.
Red Hood was silent in his fights.
Red Robin was fighting dirty.
Black Bat wasn’t pulling her punches.
Spoiler wasn’t cracking jokes.
Signal was aggressive.
Batman wasn’t stopping them.
And Robin…
Robin just wasn’t there.
No one had seen the kid in months.
Everyone remembered the last time a Robin went missing.
They remembered how dark a time it was, how ruthless Batman had become.
It didn’t take much to connect the dots.
Another Robin had gone missing.
And this time, it wasn’t just Batman who was angry.
It was all of them.
It was safe to say, that Gotham had been on it’s best behavior, save a few idiots here and there.
What was almost worse, was when Gotham realized Damian Wayne, their little ice prince, was missing.
Sure, the kid was a bit of an asshole, but he was their asshole.
Batman had gotten ruthless, and the Wayne family had gotten dark.
The once shining, brilliant family was now dull, all anyone could piece together was that their youngest had been kidnapped.
There had been no ransom, no threats made to the family, no clues on why they took the kid.
Nothing.
From what the people of Gotham had been able to tell, every member of the Wayne family had moved back into Wayne manor for the time being.
The only time they ever were seen in public/on social medias or news stations, they were asking for clues and hints on where Damian was.
Every interview, every social media upload, every public event; all they asked for was their youngest back.
Bruce Wayne had put out a 50-million-dollar reward for the safe return of his son; it had started as 5 million, but as the days went on, he continuously raised the price.
There had been a phone number, email address, and social media accounts set up across every platform.
All of them were dedicated to finding Damian.
No one had the heart to tell the family that their boy wasn’t coming back.
Not even Clark had the heart to remind Bruce that he had long stopped hearing Damian’s heartbeat.

Season 1, episode 3, "Origins"
Prepare to get flashbacked, folks.
So, previously; Dawn was thrown off a roof, Rachel was kidnapped by The Family. And now, conveniently, Kori is parked below just the building right in time to see Rachel bundled into a sensible family car.
We get an entirely unnecessary flashback of Kori finding a photo in Rachel's house and killing a cop, which does nothing to show how she got from there to here but just go with it.
She follows The Family, who are on route to their boss. They stop at a gas station, and Kori takes the opportunity to burn Dad alive. (She also blows up the bathroom Rachel is in, but it’s fine, shh, “I think you’re safer with me.”)
Tumblr media
This is what every family trips feels like when you're a queer neurodivergent
Dawn is in a medical coma at the hospital, and this somehow leads into another flashback of a young Dick with his social worker.
Bruce Wayne wants to foster him! Isn’t that great news, sure that won’t end badly for anyone.
Young Dick is taken to the huge castle-esque manor (which i love, btw) and shown to a bedroom so bougie it has it’s own chandelier and a walk-in closet already filled with teenage-boy sized clothes.
Bruce, dude. You’re coming on a little strong here.
Alfred is the only one a little dubious about this development;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This is why the killed Alf off-screen.)
Unsurprisingly, Dick takes this as his cue to run away.
Back in the present, Dick gets a lead from a police colleague despite the fact that he just walked out a week ago and never went back to work lol. She helpfully tells him Rachel has been spotted on cameras with a a six foot black woman with magenta hair, who leaves charred bodies in her wake.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Kori head to the place in the photo, Saint Paul’s convent and bond over having uncontrollable powers and a total lack of understanding about themselves!
They stop at a diner, and Kori fucks some guys up for harassing the waitress to a disco soundtrack which is, undeniably, pretty dang cool.
More flashbacks - I’m so sorry, the pacing of this episode is a mess - and Dick social worker is very insistent that Dick give Bruce another chance. If only you knew, lady.
I do like the stylistic choices here, though. Having Bruce being almost entirely absent from these scenes makes his presence feel like the looming, intimidating thing it probably was, especially in the shots of the big, broody, empty Manor that young Dick is left to wander alone.
During one of those wanderings, he finds the garage full of classic cars and, rapscallion that he is, takes one for a joyride.
Tumblr media
Remember when you antagonised the police, Dickie. Fun times.
Kori and Rachel reach the convent, which it turns out they have both been to before. Rachel was sheltered here as an infant with her fake mom, and Kori came by a year ago in her search for Rachel. It’s all very Nuns of the Chattering Order, and yes that does make Rachel the lost antichrist.
There’s an arcade down the street that Kori has a mysterious locker key for, so she takes Rachel there and exchanges the key for… a second key!
Rachel gets to eat, play some pinball, and meet a fellow protagonist!
Tumblr media
Dick - who used his super secret Bat-tech to track Kori’s numberplate - also turns up at the arcade. For plot convenience, he gives Kori the benefit of the doubt despite her record thus far and both of these untra-violent people actually talk out a problem from once! Yay!
Tumblr media
You, ah. You forgot the *checks notes* six counts of murder so far.
Turns out the cops think Rachel killed her fake-mom, so Dick, who a day ago was looking to wash his hands of this kid, suddenly feels responsible for her. Kori, who gently kidnapped Rachel for entirely self-serving purposes, has also apparently decided over the course of the last half an hour that she too can't let Rachel out of her sight, so they all go back to the convent together.
This is, unfortunately, what counts as relationship development in this show.
We get one final Baby Dick flashback, wherein Dick admits to his social worker that he’s not running away and stealing cars for fun, he’s running away and stealing cars so he can hunt down his parents’ murderer and kill them.
Bruce overhears this conversation, and leaves Dick a letter offering him a job better way.
Elsewhere, The Family (minus Dad) report to Dr Adamson, a creepy guy with an egg fetish who really wants Rachel to open the door. He magnanimously decides to give them one more shot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bet you thought I was kidding about the evils of heteronormativity, huh
ANYWAY, back to the convent and the A plot!
We get this conversation between Dick and Rachel, which I think informs a lot about Dick’s relationship with Bruce, and also his attitude towards Jason later.
Dick: Listen I need you to-- Rachel: What?! Trust you? “Other people can help”, is that it? No they can’t. They’ll just make promises, but in the end they’ll fail. They’ll all leave, just like you. Dick: Yeah, you’re right. Rachel: What? Dick: You’re on your own. No one can help you, not really. I was just like you once. Thought if I leaned on someone, if I trusted them, all the pain would go away. I was wrong. Anybody that tells you any differently is lying. The loss is here for good now, there is no getting over it. But you can control it, you can channel it. No one else can do that for you. Just you.
Kori takes the opportunity to steal Dick’s car, to head to the storage locker her second key opens, and Dick chases after her. Depite both of their promises not to abandon Rachel again, there they both go!
And, surprise surprise, the nuns immediatly drug the kid!
Turns out, the nuns want to lock Rachel in the basement to keep her away from her father and prevent her from being used to unleash evil upon the earth.
It… doesn’t go well for them.
Kori finds her Connecting the Dots meme storage locker, full of alien writing and pictures of Ravens. Dick shows up, and together they piece together enough of the murderboard evidence to decide Rachel is the Devourer of Worlds, part of a prophecy. WooOOoooOOOo *spooky hands*
They’re interrupted by a sudden earth-shaking explosion, because guess what?
Rachel BLEW UP THE FUCKING CONVENT

Confusing Explanations
Chapter 8 "The Local Dead Kids"
Tumblr media
School had just finished, I was waiting outside for no reason at all. I was in my own thoughts to even notice that a figure was standing right in front of me.
Hearing coughing is what made you snap out of your daydreaming state. You looked up and met the green eyes of Griffin. "Griffin?" I asked surprised.
He smiled cheekily at me, his nose bandaged up and all. "What are you doing here?!" I looked around at every angel furiously, hoping the boys weren't somewhere where they could see me.
"Well this is school right?" Pausing and staring back at him I said. "I know! I mean, what are you doing here!" Pointing at where we are right now.
If the boys saw him near me, who knows what would happen. He could end up dead and I really don't need that right now.
He raised an eyebrow at my behaviour. "Don't worry. Bruce and Billy went to their Baseball practice, Vance went to the Grab n Go, Robin went to Billy's house to study for his English class"
Don't tell me he stalked them all, maybe that's why they don't like him? Speaking of which. "Why don't they like you huh?" No answer. "Well if you're not gonna answer, leave." I stated impatiently, tapping my foot in the ground.
He sighed and said "let's go" "Go where?" He cracked another huge grin "your house. I'll explain there" not sure I said "And how do I know you're not gonna kidnap me?"
He laughed historically at this and hugged his stomach "trust me! I've been kidnapped before, let's just say, I would've dressed more creepily to kidnap you" scoffing I pulled him along with me towards my house, hopefully my parents won't mind.
~
Arriving at my house, I opened the door and walked in. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I called out, pushing Griffin inside and closing the door, I looked confused.
Going to the kitchen I told Griffin to follow me. Going towards the counter I immediately frowned, at the sight of a white piece of paper, and writing.
Reading the note I scrunched it up and threw it into the bin. "What's wrong?" Griffin asked obviously noticing the present frown. Shaking my head I said "nothing" with a sigh.
"They just went on another long business trip...." Griffin tilted his head, confused to why you'd be upset about it, most kids love having the house to themselves.
"Why are you sad?" You opened the fridge and grabbed an apple, slamming the door shut. "Because it's always been like this, we never really have a day where we are all together" Griffin didn't push further, getting the hint it was a personal and touchy subject.
"Anyways...Talk ginger boy, or else I'm throwing you out on the streets with the cats." Sitting on a stall he leaned over the counter, making direct eye contact. Which made you blush a little from the closeness.
"It's because..." he looked to the side, you got impatient and hit him on the head "hurry up!" He raised his hands up in defence "calm down! Because I didn't help Finney." Ok now you were even more confused "what? Sorry but I'm not following"
"Let's just say, the main reason they hate me is because of you. They don't want me to be hanging out with anyone who's a friend of them or are dating them." He chuckled and smirked.
"But THAT can't even happen. No one wants to or are able too. You're just special. And they've definitely taken a liking to you if you've already survived a day" Uhm. I don't know if I should be taking this as a compliment or not?
"Is that good?" "No." He quickly replied. His eyes turned dark, the thoughts he had running through his mind, weren't pretty at all. "It's better if you keep your guard up." What in the.
This just confuses me even more, and he expects me to understand what he means. Reading my mind he laughed quietly. "Just wait. You'll see what I mean when it's too late" with that he stood to his full height, smiled at me and walked out of the door.
I'm actually gonna kill one of these assholes. They be acting all weird and, and crazy. Walking out of my house like that!? Who the hell does he think he is!? A king?
Walking to go upstairs to my room, I heard a knock on my door. Who could it be? Opening the door I saw no one. Wow, so now we're ding dong ditching my house, huh?
Rolling my eyes I went to shut the door, until I caught a glimpse of a picture on the ground. Picking it up, the photo seemed to be way too old. Taking a closer look at the photo, I seen 6 bags?
Huh? Looking around my house for anyone, I seen no one near. Uhhh ok. Deciding to just go back inside, I closed the door and went up to my room. Putting the photo on my makeup dresser.
I'm so bored. Walking around my room, I decided to go out for a walk. Maybe JJ want to come with me?
~
Knocking on the door of the Maybanks family, I waited. About 1 minute later JJ arrived with a bed head. "Yo- Oh y/n? What's up?" He asked still seemingly tired, as he had rubbed his eyes.
"Wanna come on a walk with me?" JJ looked like he'd seen a ghost. "No! I'm too tiredddd!" Really? HES tired? Flipping him off I said "fine go back to being lazy!" "Gladly." With tha he shut the door in my face.
W-I'm gonna MURDER someone. I thought stomping my way down his driveway. Folding my arms over my chest, with an irritated expression, I walked along the sidewalk.
I swear boys are so confusing sometimes, and really REALLY annoying. At least Finn ain't that bad. But the others?! Oh oh Ohhhh! That's another goddamn story.
2nd day, and I'm already causing chaos. How amazing and cliché, new girl at the school whose friends with five boys and starts causing drama.
Typical. Pulling out my music player, I plugged some headphones in and started listening to music while I walked.
Maybe if I had just stayed in Outer Banks, things would've been normal...

Jason was going to pick up Damian from school (he didn't want to but everyone else was busy so Alfred forced him to) then they were hit from behind.
A kidnapping to which Jason awoke to Damian basically spitting out any insult.
"You insufferable imbeciles! What is the point of even doing this?" Playing the citizen in peril card while sprinkling in his own ways of insulting, Jason was rather impressed.
The men weren't amateurs, if they were then they wouldn't have managed to kidnap them without any cameras around. They're phones were taken and everything.
Damian's watch was taken which means his tracker was off as was Jason's plus he could tell they were searched, no weapons at all like a knife or something useful. So now it was only up to how long it may take for anyone to notice.
"Shut up kid, God does he have an off button?"
Jason smirked "I wish, sadly the kid has a big mouth" He could feel Damian's glare on him. Maybe not the right time to make fun of Damian, but the man did ask a question and as a citizen who is kidnapped he kinda has to answer.
"What do you want from us anyways?"
"Just gotta give us some good money is all, bet your dad would pay a lot for you two"
Of course it was the ransom card, why wouldn't it be?
Damian grew annoyed and kicked the man in the shin, causing more people to appear as the scrawny man in front of Damian almost doubled down.
"Damian, cut it out"
"No! These morons think they can take us then they'll have another thing coming!"
"Alright that's enough, you think those bindings are bad? Seems you get an upgrade little guy"
One burly man walked in with chains, Damian grew tense and Jason watched his brother. Damian's hands were held by chains alongside his feet.
Another man came in, might be the boss from the way everyone moved away for him to come in.
Hello?
Bruce's voice rang out on speaker for Jason and Damian to hear.
"Bruce Wayne, we have your sons with us, we'll send a pickup site for you along with our demands and if you do it well, then you'll get to see your sons safely home. Do we have a deal?"
Let me talk to them, see if their okay
Good idea, letting the call last longer so they can trace it.
"Hey B"
Jason, are you alright? Is Damian with you?
"Yeah we're all good, Damian is with me"
Damian, are you alright?
Jason looked at Damian who had grown eerily silent and seemed lost in his thoughts.
Damian?
"I'm fine father"
Alright I'll do as you ask, please just don't hurt my children
The boss smirked "Good"
With that they all left, leaving Jason and Damian alone in the barely lit room. There's no reason to escape cause with Bruce on the way everything will be fine (I mean and losing all weapons and not knowing how many people were here didn't exactly help). Except Jason couldn't keep his mind off of his fellow captive, once the chains were put on he got silent and didn't even move an inch.
"Damian. We'll be okay, no reason to be worried"
"..."
"Damian come on talk to me what's the matter? It's okay if you're scared"
"I- No"
Clinking of the chains around his wrists got loud. "Damian you're gonna hurt you're wrists if you do that, stop"
"N-No"
Damian wasn't listening and Jason could hear how his breath quickened with every tug. "Damian stop it"
"No! No no"
"Damian talk to me, tell me what's wrong"
"No no!"
"Damian, look at me tell me your listening. Whatever is going on it's not real"
Damian looked at Jason and it took Jason a second to process the utter panic in his eyes. Something was bothering him, might be the chains, too tight?
"Are the chains tight? It won't feel so tight if you stop moving your hands"
Like a caged animal, Damian got restless and twisted his hand in an odd angle, with that angle it cracked and Jason could tell that now Damian's right hand was broken. How the hell did he not even care?
"Dami stop it now!" He's hurting himself badly, he needs to stop it!
Damian's breath grew ragged and he grit his teeth as he kept trying to squirm his broken hand out of the chains.
"STOP DOING THAT!"
Damian didn't say a word as he kept struggling under the chains a mantra of "No" under his breath. "Shit Dami you're hurting yourself for no reason, Bruce will come for us"
At that notion, noises came from afar, if Damian knew he didn't seem to care as he kept struggling. Nightwing opened the door, looking at the two happily "You're okay!"
"I am, but Dami is freaking out, help him now!"
Nightwing rushed to Damian and unlocked the chains around his hands and feet. "Damian, you're gonna be okay"
Damian felt the release go away and stood up knocking his chair back, moving as far as he could from Nightwing. What the hell was wrong with him?
"Damian, it's Nightwing, your father asked me to come get you"
"No no no no no no!"
Nightwing undid Jason's bindings next as both kept a careful watch on Damian. "What happened to him?" "Mouthed off too much and they put chains on him when he kicked a guy in the shins. After that he got quiet and started going crazy, broke his own hand in attempt to escape" "His hand? Jeez, we gotta stop him from whatever is going on and get a look at the hand" "Got something to knock him out?" "Yeah, question is how do we give it without him attacking?" "Funny you think there's a way to do it without being attacked"
.
.
Chains are terrifying, it holds you and doesn't let go. That's what Damian remembers in Hell, most of all the heat and chains that held him down. No matter what he did or how he changed, the chains were there burning into his flesh.
Damian opened his eyes, there were no flames and nothing holding him down... except what feels like pain killers. His right hand is in a cast... it's broken, how did that happen?
"Hey Dami, you alright there?"
"Todd? Is that you? What happened to me? Why is my hand broken?"
"I was picking you up from school, we got kidnapped though. You broke your hand when the guys put chains on you in what I'm assuming was an attempt to escape. I couldn't get through to you... I'm sorry"
"...It's not your fault, it... well when I died I told you all I was in Hell. The chains were... a constant reminder burning into me"
"Oh, damn"
"Yeah, I couldn't think afterwards, when the man put me in chains... sorry for that"
"Don't say that, you were having a flashback, how do you feel?"
"Like crap I'd say"
"Yeah I bet, your hand isn't severely broken, you managed to break it without causing too much damage"
"I can thank my mother for that I suppose"
"B man said about a few days of recovery until the cast can come off"
"Now what do I do..? Tt how boring to remain like this"
"Yeah, happens to the best"

This scene is from a WIP that didn't fit the vibe I was going for and liked too much to just delete, so please enjoy
Dick was having a perfectly decent day. He had the day off. He slept in, he showered, he shaved. He bought flowers for Kori and delivered them to her before a surprise lunch date. Dick was the definition of a thriving adult hitting thirty.
Then, Bruce asked him to pick Damian up from school.
There was nothing wrong with picking Damian up from school. Dick liked Damian, and was convinced that, on a good day, Damian liked him too. The problem was that today was not a good day.
“I don’t need a babysitter to get home from school, Grayson, and the fact that Father and the rest of the family seem to think that I can’t handle myself when I am more than capable of walking home from this waste of time and space is the highest offense—”
Teenagers and their hormones making everything so dramatic—Dick wasn’t like this when he was fifteen... Was he?
“Look, Damian, it’s not about Bruce or Alfred or even me not trusting you, ok? We all know you’re capable of taking care of yourself. That’s not even in the question. It’s the fact that you’re still not legally allowed to drive—”
“I’m fifteen!”
“—and the streets have been too quiet recently. Bruce is paranoid—well, more paranoid—and we’re all trying to be extra careful for whatever’s coming.”
Damian huffed and stared out the window for a long while and Dick internally sighed. So much for brother-bonding time.
“Tim says there’s been an increase of odd kidnappings recently,” Damian finally broke the silence without moving from his sulking position.
Dick bit his cheek to stop from smiling. Damian would probably take offense to that, too. Instead, Dick took their exit and the offering for what it was.
“Odd is definitely one way to put it. Seems like these people just disappear into thin air. Have you seen the latest video footage?”
“The gas station? It was certainly… enlightening.” They both paused, thinking about the odd video footage Oracle managed to get a copy of. It was across the street of the gas station, just barely capturing the kid standing by a bus stop. Some traffic zoomed by—three cars and an ice cream truck—and when the street was clear, the kid was just gone. No other cameras in the area. No witnesses. No bus. No kid.
“Duke thinks it could be a metahuman altering the time and space in order to take them,” Dick shared, hoping to get them off the darker train of thought.
“We don’t have any powers like that registered though,” Damian pointed out, finally uncrossing his arms and turning towards Dick.
“Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Or can’t be created.”
More silence as they digested the conversation.
“There was another disappearance last night,” Damian said, not looking Dick in the eye as he turned his attention away from the red light. “A kid from my school. It isn’t official, but with how quiet everything else has been, all anyone can think about is the kidnappings.”
“So everyone assumes this kid was taken too?”
Silence.
“Did you know them?”
“No. No, I didn’t. Jon did, though. They were partnered in a class together. He’s a freshman. Patrick. He likes comic books.”
“Well,” Dick said, changing lanes to head back towards the city, “maybe we can get him something for when he gets back?”
“…That would be nice.”
Dick headed for the nearest comic bookstore.

here is a rough incomplete list of The Boys crossover verses for a few of my muses (tony, friday, elle, anakin, lucy, bruce, and will). these are very much still works in progress.
Tony - his pre Iron Man history is pretty much the same. I do think Howard might have worked with Vaught, it kinda just goes with his working with Cap. But Tony never has and never wanted to. Sure, when he was a kid he went through the whole ‘wow superheros are so cool’ phase, but he learned young never to meet your heroes because they probably suck. Most of Iron Man 1's plot happens the same, but in the end he doesn't tell anyone he's Iron Man. He has no interest in competing with supes. He does continue to work on the suit and is always continuously upgrading it, but the only time Iron Man makes an appearance is when he is hunting down his weapons that Obadiah sold. I think he may eventually start consulting work with the FBSA
Friday - pretty much the same as her canon verse. She’s an android made by Tony. Jarvis is still around since the whole Ultron plot doesn't happen in this verse. So the two A.I.’s share the workload, but Jarvis is the main A.I. that people know about. No one but those closest to Tony knows that Friday’s an android.
Elle - I'm thinking of incorporating her extremis verse into this. Maybe AIM was trying to compete with Vaught by making extremis as a way to make super soldiers, but just ended up with human bombs. A lot of the plot if iron man 3 would happen the same, with Tony and AIM and Killian. Elle is kidnapped along with Pepper and injected with extremis, later Tony is able to stabilize it but not remove it completely. So Elle now has extremis powers. They’ve have worked hard to keep this a secret and so far no one knows.
Anakin - he and Obi-Wan are part of some supe group. He’s pretty popular, his supe name is something like the knight, I'm not sure of that yet. His powers would be near invulnerability, super strength, telekinesis, some level of psychic ability. He has a secret affair with a senator, Padme, and she ends up getting pregnant. They know Vaught would probably want the babies, so they keep it secret but something happens. I still haven't thought up all the details yet, I'm thinking Vaught sends someone after them after they end up going into hiding, but Padme is badly hurt and dies shortly after the babies are born. Anakin goes rogue and starts hunting down the people responsible, which probably ends with him going up against Vaught. Obi-Wan helps him keep the twins hidden away.
Lucy - she was a patient at Sage Grove Center who escaped, because ending up in a sketchy mental hospital is just totally what would happen to her. The power she got was intangibility (like she can walk through walls), along with enhanced strength and durability that most supes have. Since her escape she has been mostly in hiding while trying to learn how to fully control her powers.
Bruce - I have a few different ideas for Bruce, so I might end up with more than one verse for him, I’m not sure yet. One idea is that the Waynes were killed by a supe, it could have been intentional or an accident, idk I’m leaning more towards accident. Bruce was the only witness. Vaught had to work pretty hard to cover it up since the death of the Waynes was such a big deal, and it wasn’t like they could pay Bruce off; but the fact that he was just a child helped them. Bruce grows up with an extreme distrust of supes and works to secretly hunt down corrupt and dangerous ones. ANOTHER idea is that for some reason the Waynes agree to give baby Bruce compound v, he grows up to become Batman. But clearly, Bruce is not the type of person who is good in front of a camera; he is able to use his money and give ‘donations’ to Vaught so that he doesn’t have to deal with any of the film or public persona part of being a superhero. They really sell the whole ‘mysterious’ part of Batman to ‘keep him in the shadows’. Bruce really does just want to help people and has no interest in the fame part of it. So far he has managed to keep his secret identity, what witn Batman wearing a mask and Bruce Wayne making so few public appearances.
Will - very vague idea of Will being a supe with empath abilities, like he can touch things and see past events associated with that item, and he can sense and control peoples emotions. They’re not ‘flashy’ powers, and he doesn’t have any of the super strength or durability, add to that the fact that he is definitely not a personable person, and Vaught really has no interest in him. Which is perfectly fine by him. He lives an isolated life, working as a teacher (either at a regular school or for the FBI, i’m not sure. Idk he may still end up working with the fbi.)
