Charlie: Okay, Goodness Lesson #1: you see someone drop their wallet. (whipsers to Angel Dust) Angel, drop the wallet. (Angel drops his wallet) Now, what would you do?
Sir Pentious: Excuse me, sir, but I do believe you dropped your wallet.
Angel Dust: Doesn't look familiar to me.
Sir Pentious: What? I just saw you drop it. Here.
Angel: Nope; it's not mine.
Sir Pentious: It is yours. I am trying to be a good person and return it to you.
Angel: Return what to who?
Sir Pentious: *facepalms* Aren't you Anthony Vincent Giovanni?
Angel: Yep.
Sir Pentious: And this is your ID.
Angel: Yep.
Sir Pentious: I found this ID in this wallet, and if that's the case, this must be your wallet.
Angel: That makes sense to me.
Sir Pentious: Then take it.
Angel: It's not my wallet.
Sir Pentious: *screams* YOU DIPSHIT! TAKE YOUR FUCKING WALLET OR I'LL RIP YOUR ARMS OFF!
*tickle belt activated*
Charlie: Wrong! (Sir Pentious falls to the floor laughing) Good people don't rip other people's arms off!

#26 🌙❤️🤍
seeking help/aid
"I'm sorry to bother you but I need your help with something."
"Please, it'll just be one night, you don't have to act like it's the end of the world."
"You always ask for favors just to waste my time." / "What I'd give to have this be another playful favor."
"I'll help you with anything, that's what I'm here for." / "This time, it's not so simple..."
"I'm literally the person you hate most in this world. Why do you want my help?"
"No, I get it. There were lots of times I needed help where no one came to my aid either. It happens to everyone."
"You're just always so independent and put-together, it's weird to see you losing your shit now."
"Uh, back in the break room...was that a cry for help?"
"Haha, the last time you asked me to help you with something, I didn't leave your side for the whole day." / "It was an emergency, my god!"
"It's not my fault the grocery store shelf has better height genes than me!"

I think many, many things I tell myself, especially with regard to budgeting stuff that has to form part of a routine, are along the lines of, "But I could just [do this laborious thing that would definitely be more optimal]."
Indeed, usually I could just do that thing.
Buuut... there are many things we all collectively "could just do," and we don't do them, because the question that actually really matters is "but will I do that?"
People say it about exercise all the time: the best exercise is the one you'll actually do. But I think it is also true of, like, what groceries you buy and your daily habits and stuff. For example, I could mix my own grain free granola. It would be a bigger outlay of cash initially, but ultimately about half the price per serve when compared with the one I actually use. (I actually know someone who does this already! They are... very dedicated.)
However... I know I will absolutely not do that. If I tell myself I am, whoa, so totally definitely going to do that, I will in all probability end up buying a $6 GF protein bar at 7-eleven at 8:30AM on a Monday morning instead.
Likewise, a second example: I could do my budget assuming I will never purchase another coffee from a cafe because I know they're an absurd expense I don't really need. This is true, but I know it will not stop me from buying one when a workmate says, "Oh my god, that meeting was a horrorshow, let's go grab a coffee and get some fresh air." Yes I WILL want to take a little walk down to a coffee shop and get a coffee. I know myself and I will be so weak to this.
For me, it is better to say, "This month I can swap out an actual physical book for a free classic from Project Gutenberg," and know that's basically 4 coffees. A free classic from Project Gutenberg is something I know I will actually read. (I am currently very slowly making my way through The King In Yellow by Robert W Chambers.)
It's never perfect. But I think this kind of self knowledge is so important to figuring out my budget and routine. Maybe in another life I will be a creature of perfect behavioural discipline, driven only by pure self optimisation. I rather doubt it, though. (。•́︿•̀。)

A short lil' blurb on Chris helping you with your exercise. I need him to motivate me to do my daily crunches. He'd probably make a great trainer.
700 words.
"Five... Six... Seven... Oh, come on, you’re the one who asked me for help, don't back out of it now. You're doing great. I believe in you. Just focus on your breathing."
You could only huff in reluctant defeat as you pushed yourself to raise up over and over despite your muscles protesting against it, begging you to flop back down onto the mat and stay there. Preferably for a good hour or two. You were never good at crunches. Even push-ups were more preferable in your books.
Granted, it was technically your own fault for skipping on your regular workouts lately. Of course everything was so much harder now. You hated how human body worked sometimes. Chris did tell you that consistency is everything.
Him being so sympathetic and understanding didn't do anything to boost your wounded pride either. But there was no denying that he was a good mentor. He was so well regarded among the new recruits for a reason, after all. Though, you guessed he was going real easy on you. A perk of being his partner. Although it was only a small fraction of the strength you knew he possessed, his hands applied just enough pressure to keep your ankles glued to the mat with no chance of cheating for you. You could see the corners of his mouth twitching upwards ever so slightly as he watched you huff and puff with effort, probably trying to not show too much of his amusement to spare your ego.
Well, not everyone was able to do fifty crunches in less than five minutes.
You panted out with exertion as you raised yourself up again, putting even more added strain on your core muscles as you tried to not get too close to him. Not that it would be a problem. You were just embarrassed. Especially when you were all red in the face and sweating buckets here.
"Stop. I can see you smiling. You think this is funny," you grumbled, shooting him a glare that lacked any real ire behind it.
"Maybe a little," he admitted with a chuckle, the sound light and a bit husky in a way that was so natural. It made your heart flutter, and not just because of the exercise making your blood pump. Damn it, you really wouldn't mind him laughing at your expense if that meant seeing him smile like that. You felt him pat your leg a little in a show of encouragement. "I can feel you tensing every time you go up. You're just making things harder for yourself, you know."
You wanted to groan. Of course he would notice, you weren't being very subtle about it, anyways. You knew he was just trying to guide you along and help you out with doing your best, but those sparks of amusement dancing in his brown eyes just made you want to ditch the exercise altogether and kiss that look off his face.
...Or maybe you just wanted to kiss him. Probably the latter.
"Ugh, fine, fine. How many do I have left, anyways?" You puffed out as you fell back down onto the mat with a small 'oof' escaping you from the air being knocked out of your lungs for a moment. You stared up onto the ceiling, gathering what strength you had. Oh, you were going to kick ass with these damn crunches, and then you were going to enjoy your well-deserved prize. If your muscles wouldn't turn into a jelly.
"Twenty."
"Twenty!?"
This time, Chris didn't hold in his laugh, shaking his head at your peril. "I already lowered it for you, dummy. C'mon, just take your time. There's no rush."
"You're torturing me here, Redfield..." You whined, rubbing your eyes with the heels of your palms.
And just as you were about to reach that cursed twentieth crunch, you felt Chris lean forward, meeting you right in the middle as his lips brushed over yours in a quick, sweet kiss. This time, you didn't fall back down. You didn't need to. Instead, you let out a sigh of relief and leaned into his affection as if it was the best way to ease the scalding tension in your body. And, in a way, it really was. With a smile, you realized that you just caught him slipping up on you.
"Twenty," you announced as you pulled back, giving him an excited but smug grin of your own. "You forgot to count it."
He blinked, seemingly a bit too phased out from that small kiss you shared, before breathing out an impressed laugh.
"Good work, soldier."

Write a scene in which a character realizes they were wrong about something. Concentrate on what they are feeling. Here are a few examples:
--thought they were in danger but realizes they are safe
--thought they were safe but realizes they are in danger
--dreaded something that turned out to be fun
--looked forward to something that turned out to be awful
You get the idea. Bonus points if you do the exercise and its opposite.

thinking about how many people hate doing chores like laundry ironing etc (for themselves! unfairly being expected to take care of everyone else's things is something completely different) and how in attempts to fix the resulting issues (piles of gross stuff etc) it's just framed as another thing to feel bad about not doing, which is not very encouraging under any circumstances -- but if the reason why things keep piling up is something like depression or adhd will make it about 10x as hard, because you likely already feel bad about yourself. And now looking at the piles comes with a lecture about getting your shit together and being an adult at the back of your head.
It's just not effective. It's the wrong reason. You shouldn't be cleaning because you're afraid of being shamed or because you feel guilty. That might work once every few months in a burst of manic chore energy but that's no way to live. The reason why I don't find these things exhausting to do is because it's just things I do to make myself comfortable, and it feels that way. When I'm ironing my clothes I look forward to wearing clean cozy warm clothes. I'm also daydreaming about 20 other things because I do have adhd and I'm maybe listening to an audiobook, but the emotion associated with doing my own laundry is something like ...contentment because I get to decide how exactly I want my clothes to smell and feel. It's largely just a positive emotion. I think the trick is getting yourself to be happy you get to make future you happy. That's a sustainable motivation you don't need shame or guilt for.
Also sometimes it's easy to underestimate how much a "small" sensory issue is making things hard. I hate touching dirty laundry, especially things like wet dishrags. I realised this was what made me want to avoid doing that specific bag of laundry and got some gloves. Now it's fine because I don't have to touch any wet and questionable textures. A lot of these accomodations might feel like overkill + you might not notice how much they bother you/contribute to putting things off until you pay attention and do something about it. If you think the scent bothers you a lot wearing a mask to empty the bin might help remove revulsion re: emptying the bin and so make that easier to motivate yourself into doing just wear one. Yeah it is overkill and not needed. But you don't want to accumulate trash inside because the smell would make you uncomfortable. If the goal is to avoid discomfort you should also eliminate the discomfort of the chore itself insofar possible! If your hands hurt easily from scrubbing things clean see if you can find a more effective cleaning agent or a cheap electric brush. If the sound of the vacuum bothers you even just a little put on headphones. There is no need to make this into some kind of guiltstriken spartan ordeal or only prevent discomfort if it's absolutely necessary for the task.
Chores are going to be a part of your days probably your entire life. It can be a comfortable experience associated with feeling cared for by yourself, feeling in control of how you live, a moment of quiet simple tasks and no deadlines. It doesn't have to feel bad. And if you fail at keeping up you aren't lazy or bad. You're just probably making yourself uncomfortable, but that's not a sin. And you can always change what you do to accomodate your needs.
