You always did your best to not let those comments get to you. But we all have bad days, and those bad days just get worse when you pay too much attention to the bad things in it.

Laying on your couch while something you were not paying attention to played on tv, you couldn't help the tears that kept falling down your cheek as your laptop laid open on your coffee table, displaying all the negative comments you'd got on your last upload.

"Babe, I'm home" you heard the door opening and your boyfriend's keys being thrown on the entryway table, you quickly dry your face on the sleeves of your sweater and try to sound as okayish as possible when replying back at him.

As you're sobbing again, his hold becomes even tighter and he kisses your temples, trying to calm you down. it's already late at night and your computer is still on, multiple tabs open and keyboard clicking. you were planning to pull an all-nighter so you can finish your work earlier than the deadline. coffee on hand, eyes fixed on the screen, you sip your coffee and set the mug aside. ideas are abundant in your brain right now so you didn't wanna waste more time. besides, you might forget them if you procrastinate. you would hate it if you'd be late on the deadline or if your plans won't be done as scheduled. you were already stressed at having too much work at the same duration so it's best to get them done as soon as you can.

feeling productive, you were so focused on your work that you haven't given much attention to your boyfriend beside you. jacob rests his head on your shoulder, still considerate to not distract you by not being too close. yet, he sighed several times. it's even louder than he anticipated but you still did not bat an eye. he pouts. hoping for any slight attention, or maybe a conversation starter, he slides his arm around your waist and moved a little closer. when he fails to get your attention, he calls, "baby..." in a slightly groggy voice. you hummed a small "hm?" but eyes still shifting from the screen to the keyboard.

he sighed, face somewhat closer to your neck so you felt his breath fan on the side of your cheek, neck, and to your ear. instinctively, you tilt your head enabling him to press his lips on the crook of your neck quite accidentally. chills invaded your body making you blush, "jacob?" you turned to him. feeling a sense of victory, he smiled smugly at you and took the chance to peck on your lips. the blush became worse for what he just did and you only giggled to him,

hoping you could stop the giddy feeling he just bestowed on you, you turned back to your computer screen, but now barely able to focus. "is this needed too soon?" he asks, brows furrowed in frustration. "in three weeks, but i have few parts left so i want it done sooner." you explained in response while typing. jacob sighs, "you can continue tomorrow-" he pauses, "no, later. or yeah, maybe tomorrow. you should rest all day today. look at the time!" he protests when he realizes the time. you stop midway, eyes darting at the date and time of your computer.

oh, shoot. you abruptly turn to jacob who's still pouting beside you. you felt sorry for making him wait until almost four in the morning so you can go to bed together. "you've been waiting that long?" your eyes widen at him. the disbelief was evident in his expression but still managed to tease you, "well, i'm glad you're aware." jacob shrugs.

"okay, hold on a minute. i'll just finish this-" you saved the file and were about to add a little edit for it but you didn't notice that jacob has already sat on the bed beside your work table and he cuts your sentence by pulling your swivel in his direction. he also easily yanks you up from your seat by the waist and plops down on the bed with you on top of him.

you were surprised by his antics. nevertheless, it still made you feel warm and thrilled. the position enabled you to feel his heartbeat against your own and it made both of you silent for a moment, albeit never awkward. you looked at him fondly under you. one hand on the small of your back, and one fixing the stray hair that falls on your face. jacob stares at you just as affectionately and gives you a soft smile, "you worked hard today," he says in an almost whisper, his palm resting on your cheek while his thumb caresses your face softly. "you always give your best at everything you do, y/n, and i'm proud of you..." jacob pats your back gently, "but i hope you're not too disappointed when you can't do something you like. it's alright to take it slow, okay? you should allow yourself to rest too."

his words of encouragement soften your heart and you wish you could replay this moment as many times as you can. you could feel your eyes become teary as you take his words to your heart, but you manage to conceal them as you bury your face in the crook of his neck. but jacob knows. you won't realize you're tired and overworked until he tells you to rest. you even thought that he knows you better than yourself. those were words you need to hear at least once when you're having a hard time, and he never fails to reassure you. you have a companion. you have a source of strength. "thank you..." you managed to say. jacob hugged you tightly and hums, "i love you." you returned it to him as you close your eyes and your body at ease.

after a few seconds before you could let the sleepiness control you, you lift your head again and blinks at him, "are we sleeping like this?" you ask perplexed. jacob was as confused as you are but he chuckles and holds your frame carefully, gently laying you down beside him. your head rested on his arm and his face was just above yours. you looked up at him, who was supposed to give you a forehead kiss but his lips touched the tip of your nose instead. jacob was slightly surprised as he opens his eyes, but his smile grew and proceeded to kiss your lips instead. "is this comfortable for you?" he asked and with no words left to protest at him, you nod, hiding your gleeful smile when you drape your arm on his waist and snuggles close to his chest where you could hear his heart beating.

"sleep well, my love." you softly whisper and lay quiet in his embrace, somnolent after the busy day. you hope you can wake up at the sight of him beside you once again. you feel a warm hand patting your back as you fell asleep.

The lack of existence of, one-sidedness and toxicity of Tim and Steph's current "friendship"

So after Tim's UL thing many people are acting like he and Steph have now transitioned into "platonic besties" or something. Aside from the fact they have NEVER had this dynamic at all throughout their histoy, this write up will explain why the current 'friendship' of Tim and Steph after UL is pretty non-existant, one-sided and frankly kind of toxic.

The first thing to note which is what people use as "proof. Tim introducing Steph to Bernard.

People talk about how 'cute' or 'a sign of trust' it is, but they seem to be overlooking one crucial fact. Tim did it without even asking Steph first or telling her they would be meeting him.

Let's be honest introducing your ex to your new partner without telling your ex is a selfish move as while you may be over your ex, your ex may not be over you and it might be hard for them to see you with someone else so quickly, especially in this case as Tim just apologized for treating her badly via ghosting her and being a jerk to her. The fact the whole time Tim was planning to introduce her to Bernard even before he talked with Stephanie shows he was planning it without taking her into consideration at all and not giving her her own space to properly deal with things.

When Kyle Rayner met with Donna while with Jade after he and Donna's relationship ended on bad terms due to her ghosting him (it was because her son died BTW) and more or less ending the relationship in a way that hurt him a lot, he properly gave Donna a space to deal with it and didn't include Jade in it as he knew Donna as someone he loved a lot even if it was over needed his undivided attention here to deal with loose ends. He told Jade this before going to talk to Donna even.

So Tim comes off as incredibly selfish and unintentionally manipulative as he did this right after laying a lot on her with the apology, telling her why he ghosted her, and in public, doesn't give her really time to process things and puts pressure on her to just take it as a bad reaction in public would be bad but also after Tim laid this on her and they reconciled might alienate them even further which Stephanie didn't want as was shown by her attempts to mend things in UL and how much it hurt her.

And Tim not even bothering to even really ask her how she is doing or for her full perspective before doing this was also conceited as again he was ghosting her for a long time. All she did was just reiterate what we and the audience already know and he in the past has pushed Stephanie to express her feelings to him and be frank, so not even doing so and being satsified with her just saying what he already knew felt self-centered.

Not to mention Stephanie's entire reaction made her look like she has no self-respect as Tim:

A. dumped her without a reason

B. Acted like an asshole to her when she tried to help him

C, ghosted her

D. lied that she was ghosting him

E. Only apologized after he met her by accident (where he wished he wasn't there) and her life was in danger

F. Introduced her to his new BF after all this without asking her first while she is still getting over him as Batgirls annual showed

Like aside from clearly using her as a prop it is so bizarre. Introducing your ex to your new partner after all this and in the manner Tim did comes across as flaunting and Steph just taking it is so weird. Like knowing that she still isn't over him and combined with her normally low self-esteem (which Tim knows about) it makes it look like Steph feeling pressured (not necessarily by anyone in particular but by herself) to act supportive because she feels obligated to. Like the fact she hasn't even brought up she still isn't over him to Tim and just acted the way she does further makes it look like this, which again provides a pretty one sided dynamic that comes across as toxic.

This brings into how subsequent interactions again show Steph being this ultra supportive cheerleader but Tim not reciprocating anything really.

Like in issue 4 of Tim's solo, Steph ask's if things are okay with Bernard (of course she does will get to that later) and Tim doesn't even really reply and just moves things back to the case. In fact their interactions throughtout the issue are completely dry and strictly business related. Compared to when he interacted with Dick in issue 5 and opened up about his insecurities in branching out or Kate in issue 8 about the times they've bonded and other things, him being so dry with Steph feels odd. They have him say he "trust Steph and Cass" the most but everything is just business related and this "trust" is only vigilante wise it seems. Like he doesn't even ask Stephanie how she is doing or what's going on in her life. Given issue 2 Tim says he's worried about "ruining things like with Steph" or how in isuse 3 Tim claims he "loves that she's the most unpredictable person" (which was a pretty lackluster description/summation of her compared to how he summed up Dick as the "coolest person he knows" and Damian as his "brother" which fully captures what they mean to him. This description of Steph seems only like something vigilante related which is where her unpredictability comes from and again only an aspect of it) him treating her so drly and professional is just odd when he is more open with Kate than her and again like a friendly work acquaintance at best, which shows he is still keeping her at a distance.

Not to mention how in issue 8 we later see  Stephanie literally dancing over him and Bernard being together in the montage of him recounting he and Kate's bonding moments involving the Batfamily. it is implied this took place not too long after the whole introduction to Bernard which again was pretty bizarre for the reasons I said above. so her doing this after the whole thing again makes her look like she has no self-respect.

This ties into how Tim only seems to involve her in his life when it comes to Bernard/how the author only uses her as. Like the only non-vigilante thing she ask's about is Bernard in issue 4 and in that montage of issue 8 the ONLY time Stephanie shows up in his interactions with the Batfamily in this issue is with Bernard while, Dick who is the closest to Tim apart from Steph shows in two montages, but for Steph it's only this one. Like when moving on his boat in the montage with Dick, he asked Kate, Barbara, and Darcy over Steph for help despite it being a supposed important step in his life. Like he'll include her with Bernard related stuff but other important stuff he'll go to people who are less closer to him for? It makes Tim look like he's using her to validate his new relationship and Steph going along with it makes her just a pushover

It doesn't help how Tim in other instances says/thinks some questionable things about her and their history. Like in issue 1 he thinks about how he was 'settling' before Bernard and how Stephanie would hate his boat after thinking about how much he likes it there and what it represents to him in terms of branching. Like Stephanie was giving her own thought box and HATE was emphaszied while the other Batfamily were grouped together and no emphasis on their reaction and they seemed more like light hearted sentiments/commentary/jabs at their reactions especially with the use of the word hate which is pretty strong and how it was emphasized.

There was also how in DC YJ when "Batman" and "Wonder Girl" in the fake world said Tim should get back with Steph, in that stupid scene, they did so in a way that makes it look like Steph only likes Tim for his vigilante identity via saying she would want him back if he was Batman like she's hero equivalent of a girl who wants to date the most popular jock and painting her as shallow yet Tim doesn't defend her or even care about the slight against her.

Their is also way he talks about her to Connor in DC Pride 2023. Like in the Pride Special Tim claims says she was "everything he ever wanted and more" yet aside from saying he was settling before Bernard, here he says he was really avoiding her because she was a reminder of a past of letting other people define him and he was invested in the relationship on to avoid examining himslef on purpose......

only mentioning how she was a reminder of a past he wanted to avoid and only in a negative connotation and how hard it was for him to be around her and not the fact of how he hurt her in then process and not how she became supportive of him (really shows how Steph in supporting Tim being bi is just used to shill Timber) when he talked how supportive Bruce was when we haven't seen it and he wasn't to the extent Steph was (who he also didn't treat badly and also mentioned as part of letting people define him though weird how he didn't have trouble being around him, but it just shows how they are framing Steph as the 'closeted' past or a barrier to bi Tim....) makes Tim look unappreciative of her and incredibly self-centered.

And like the final point is how Tim again hasn't shown any kind of support for her at all or even tried to be there for her in any way. Like even his 'talk' with her in the Pride Special was all about him. So the lack of support and the way he is still keeping her at a distance makes him look really self-absorded. It makes their 'friendship' all give and no take.

TLD DR: Tim and Steph's current 'friendship' is basically non-existant, one-sided and comes off as kind of toxic due to Tim coming across as self-centered and Steph like a pushoever with no self-respect

Summary: moments the batboys knew they were safe with you, basically the moment you said "he's safe with me"

He was exhausted the entire week but when Friday night came along oh boy

You definitely weren't expecting to see wally knock on your door helping hold up a tired dick but it happened

Such as covering shifts on patrol for Bruce, on top of his civilian duties and Nightwing duties in bludheaven, it just caught up with him

Wally explained they were supposed to hang out at the bar to shoot pool and such for guys night

As you helped lay dick on your sofa and made him comfortable the words left your mouth

"Don't worry K.P he's safe with me, he always will be"

Dami was not happy about the injury especially since it was from C-list villian that's hardly a threat

But your words made him feel slightly better about the bumps, sprains and bruises

He almost teared up hearing such things from his beloved lips

He was taught either killed or be killed and he's still adjusting to the new ways his brothers and Bruce showed him

So to hear that you'd have him kept safe when he's injured and vulnerable felt alien to him

His heart swelled up with admiration for you and for the first time couldn't wait to be taken care of

After he did get better he took you on a date as a thank you for taking care of him

Jason Todd, but he's not around the batfamily very often, bc i can.

It's not unusual for Jason to just kind of be gone for anything bat-esque for a while. Sure he'll still be in Gotham doing some crime fighting, but just not make many appearances in Wayne Manor/the Batcave.

And it's not out of sheer spite, surprisingly enough. its bc after being a crime lord then quitting to be an anti-hero, he came to the realization that being Red Hood couldn't be the only thing he was using his life for. he would end up like Bruce, only using a civilian identity when he absolutely had to. But Jason Todd was legally dead, so he wouldn't ever have to be a civilian, but at the cost of losing himself to a vigilante identity. I don't believe Jason would want to take that risk.

So he makes a fake identity so he can live in a (shaky) routine as a civilian. He still goes by Jason, given its a common enough name. but he changes his last name to Devoss, as it has the same meaning as todd but is of Dutch decent rather than english, bc I'm the kind of nerd that still wants names to mean the same thing even it's not the point whatsoever, so Jason is too. Plus its better than most of the name changes DC has done.

Anyway. Jason's "routine". The only reason it could be considered a routine is bc he typically goes to the same places. he drops by the same coffee shop at least three times a week, frequents the same gym, and visits the library about once a week. he's in the bare minnimum of consistency & sticks to it.

Despite being given enough money from Bruce to count as a solid income, Jason still lives in walking distance of Crime Alley. the landlords there don't care who you are so long as you pay rent, bc who wants to live near Crime Alley? barely anyone. Later he gets a job, which actually cements his routine. he works as a chef in a chain restaurant, and he's so good at it, it's like hes being petty about it.

Actually, being petty is the most common thread most of the people who know Jason Devoss as an aquaintance have. He's petty about entitled customers who start screaming in at his regular coffee stop, if someone he tends to work out with has a cheating partner and the assholeperson has a hole in thier can of mace and their knife is suddenly dull(neccessities in Gotham), Jason has no clue how someone could manage that. Absolutely none.

Ok, back to Jason getting a job. So like I said earlier, Jason gets a job as a line cook, bc they really dont keep people from the job unless you're actively supposed to be in Arkham(exemptions can be made for blackgate). Which is why having a civilian identity is helpful, bc being both legally dead and spending some time as a mob boss probably wouldn't jive with any hiring manager ever. But he's able to make himself a normal part of the scenery, and makes the most effective closing shift, totally not be he has patrol that he's already late for. And this is how he ends up meeting Bernard, bc they have to work together to figure out what Tim would want. Jason realizes that this isn't some other kid named Tim he thinks "oh this is going to be rich." bc no one in the family has been to his work so far since he started working in the front of house, and he hasn't mentioned it to them.

So Tim walks in, and sees his bf, then he sees Jason, who just says "Oh, you must be Bernard's boyfriend. Nice to meet you." Smiling like he's never done anything remotely wrong in his whole life. Now Tim is questioning everything and can only repond with something akin to "Mhmm yup. Nice to meet you too." & is on edge for the rest of the date, bc his brother is being paid to watch his date, and will interrupt them for refills or other nonsense when he was beginning to forget Jason was there.

Bonus points if it's before Tim introduces Bernard to the family.

The batfamily knows where he is, and he knows they know. No one who has met Batman once can have him be unaware of their whole family tree, of course he knows where his son is. Jason will sometimes get visits, most often from Duke, be despite the fact that Crime Alley is mostly terrible, the sunset view is pretty dang good.

Duke will just be sitting on his couch when he gets home, like "you wanted to talk?" to which he and Jason will simply chat. and jason will often give critiques to Duke's technique.

a/n- Hi! Thank you sm for being my first ask and I hope you enjoy the blurb!

“If you steal the blankets one more time, I swear, I am going to put my cold feet on you.” You tried throwing a stern look at the giggling boy next to you as he just nuzzled his face even more into the blankets, that you were supposed to be sharing. “That’s why I took the blankets in the first place, because your cold feet were on me.”

You rolled your eyes, thinking the dark sky wouldn’t expose you but Yangyang still scoffed. “Fine, I’ll just go get the other blankets from the car.” As you were getting up you felt your boyfriend’s chilled hand on your wrist. “Come back, I’ll let you have the blanket back.” The initial cold on your wrist left but a slight sting was left.

Laying back down, you pressed as close to Yangyang as possible, even with you guys having the same amount of clothes covering your bodies, he was still much warmer than you. Not wanting to ruin the calm aura around you guys, you stayed quiet, but he felt the shivering. “Do you want me to go get the other blankets?” Feeling you nod, Yangyang squeezed your body close to his one more time before slowly releasing you, he didn’t want to let you go and neither did you but at last, Yangyang got up from the blanket pallet you two made on the ground and slipped on his slides.

You rolled over onto your stomach and propped your elbows up on the pillow your head was resting on and watched him walk to your car. Whistling as Yangyang walked caused him to place his hands behind him, covering his butt. “Don’t objectify me.” He beamed and opened the trunk.

Dropping your head to the pillow you were laying on; you were unable to see when Yangyang threw the blankets at you.  “Yangyang! What was that for?” You laughed and removed the blankets that had landed on your head and back. “You were cold! I was just trying to get the blankets to you quicker!” Shrugging, Yangyang walked back to your little night picnic and crouched down.

“I love you; this was so sweet of you.” You watched Yangyang unfold the blankets and cover you with them. The moon light made him look heavenly and he loved you just as much as you loved him. “I wanted to do something nice for you, you’re always there for me and you do so much for me, and I wanted to show you how much I love and appreciate you.” You turned onto your back and pulled Yangyang down by the back of his neck. “I’m just sorry the weather is so col-” Not letting him finish, you spoke against his lips, “Just an excuse to get closer to you”, before pressing them fully together.

Surprisingly, the kisses stayed sweet and innocent, which is almost never the case for you two. Yangyang was back under the now multiple blankets with you pressed to his chest again. You felt him rub little shapes on your sweatshirt clad back, circles, squares, stars, and hearts.  

“Stargazing was a good idea” Yangyang whispered into your hair, you chuckled and looked up at him, only to see him already looking at you. “You’re not even looking at the stars.” He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss onto your lips. “You’re prettier than them anyway.” His lips tickled yours as he said that cheesy line. “Gross.” You giggled and lightly pushed on his chest. The bit of space that was made closed as soon as it was made, Yangyang rolled over on top of you.

“Don’t even think about it Liu.” With the moon behind Yangyang, the light wasn’t reflecting on his face, but you could only imagine the devilish smirk that decorated his full lips. His oddly warm hands made their way under your shirt, you tensed at the feeling and goosebumps rose along the surface of your skin.

You weren’t able to fight Yangyang off of you in time and you felt him start to wiggle his fingers up and down your sides. Playfully kicking and punching him while giggling, you couldn’t get him to let up. So, you did the only other reasonable option.

“OW!” The moving hands immediately stilled and the weight that was on your waist was lifted. “Are you okay? What happened?” His words came out rushed and panicked, scared that he hurt you and potentially ruined the night that you were supposed to enjoy. The frantic breathing and words coming from him were replaced by a “Huh?” and a grunt when you managed to push him to his back on the ground and straddled his waist.

Shoving your hands under his hoodie before he could react and tickling his sides and armpits like he had just done to you moments prior. Yangyang tried to restrain himself from kicking his feet and flapping his arms, still shaken up by you crying wolf, he just went with trying to squirm and writhe his way out of your grip.

“Why are you so strong?” Yangyang was laughing so hard that his ribs hurt, and tears were forming in his eyes. He thought it was funny how all this strength appears when he was the one suffering but when you needed help moving your couch, all of a sudden you couldn’t lift it. Deciding to have mercy on the poor boy, you stop tickling him and listened to his giggling quiet down.

Yangyang huffed as he felt you lie back down next to him, turning his head to look at you, he groaned, “You evil, evil woman.” “Yet you still love me.” Pursing his lips together and nodding, “That I do.”

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never really had hope for buddie to be confirmed in the first place. Like I do ship them and if they did I would be happily surprised but really it’s just never something I’ve entertained as a possibility and I don’t know where the people who believe it will happen have been but we just don’t get ships like this imo.Maybe there’s a few exceptions even if I can’t think about this right now but when a character’s introduced as straight or nothing has been said so we assume straight and then fandom ships them with an equally assumed straight person the show and networks and all that don’t want them together because they’re ‘normal straight people’. Like in LS from the beginning TK’s introduced with a bf he wants to propose to, they don’t lose their normal character since that was him from the start. Also if it’s acknowledged that all the buddie moments were building up to a romantic relationship then it sheds light on other similar relationships in other shows or films that we were ridiculed for shipping when really it’s not so different. I really don’t know if I got my point across here and I’m sorry this got so long winded, maybe I’m just a cynic but I think my buddie dreams will have to be contented with fanart and fic.

It's definitely not just you who has felt that way, lol. We hear it all the time, just more aggressively. To expand on what you said, the biggest piece of "evidence" in favor of this argument is that it's been six seasons and neither one's sexuality has been altered or allowed to evolve in the slightest. And it's not the opportunity wasn't there, right? Maddie and her "boy crush on Eddie" remark or saying she wouldn't want Josh to date her little brother. Then TK (falsely) assuming Buck was being flirtatious. Tim (he was the main show runner those years) could have said any of that meant something moving forward (maybe a "Buck is canonically bi, but we haven't explored that part of his story...we're waiting 'til it feels appropriate"), but the only part he addressed was the TK thing, and he connected to Tarlos since Carlos wasn't physically present. Compare that to Nancy becoming the first bi character of the 911verse. She came out while in a relationship with Mateo. She is still in that same relationship now. The show isn't trying to "prove" she's bisexual by having her hook up with or date a woman. It's just a part of who she is. And then there's the fact that all four (technically five, with David) queer men of the 911 verse (Michael, Josh, TK, Carlos) are written as gay, not bi. Tim & co. appear to have some *opinions* (thus far) about bi men, it seems. If they date a woman? Straight. Date a man? Not into women (never were). I will continue to say, though, that people are giving the network too much grief. The canon couples very rarely do anything intimate as the seasons progress, with Henren as the outlier because 6x06 was a flashback, so *if* anyone with influence was concerned about the optics, Tim has an "excuse" not to push things too far - that's not what the focus is anymore. And even *if* someone at the network was all "idk about this :/" that's still on Tim for dodging the discussion six years in. Get out ahead of it and the message would have been received much sooner - if you're against even one of these guys getting with a dude...this ain't the show you should be watching. Move along. (Tim has no problem putting LS fandom down, so I don't see why he'd act different with OG. TBH, it's either his own biases about Buck and Eddie as men that is keeping him from making them canon or it's similar to his reaction when the Tarlos fandom "complains" - he knows what's gonna happen if Buddie goes canon; they will dominate the discussion - he doesn't want the fandom giving their opinions or asking for content more than they do already.)

You looked up at the redhead with a small smile, nodding, "Yeah, I'd like to go with you."

Natasha smiled and nodded back, "Okay, it won't be too many of us. Just Tony, Steve, Bucky, Wanda, and I. I think this will be a great way for you and some of the team to get to know each other. That's okay, isn't it?" She asked you softly.

You hesitated only briefly before nodding, "Yeah, that sounds wonderful."

Her eyes lit up slightly and you couldn't help but giggle slightly, feeling slightly better already.

With a nod, she started heading toward the elevator, beckoning you along. You followed her until the door slid open and she motioned for you to step inside first. Once you were both inside, the doors closed and you felt yourself relax. Soon enough, the elevator began its journey.

"So, how are you liking the tower so far?" Natasha asked as you watched the numbers slowly count down.

"I like it, better than my old room... If you could even call it that." You mumbled the last part, shuffling your feet against the elevator floor.

Natasha turned to look at you with a frown, "I get it, you know? But, let me tell you... It gets better. We'll help you learn everything you need to know and you'll finally be able to live a normal life."

You nodded, not knowing what else to say. "If I may ask... How long did it take you?" You asked suddenly, wincing at how insensitive you sounded.

She paused for a moment, pursing her lips, thinking carefully about what to say, "A long time." She responded honestly.

You nodded, "Were you experimented on, too?" You added, your voice soft. Before your eyes widened and you looked to the ground, "I'm sorry, I should've asked that. My apologies."

Natasha shook her head, placing a hand on your shoulder. "No need to apologize." She spoke before she stared at the ground, "I... I was experimented on if you could call it that. It was more like a... Procedure." She admitted, causing you to frown slightly.

"I'm sorry that happened to you." You sighed softly, and Natasha gave you a small sad smile.

"I'm sorry that happened to you too."

Soon the elevator doors opened and you followed Natasha into a large garage with what you thought could be hundreds of fancy expensive cars. You looked around in awe at all of them, as you neared Tony, Bucky, Steve, and Wand who stood near a black SUV. You stepped towards them, Natasha falling behind as you met eyes with Steve.

Steve smiled, stuffing his hands into his pockets, "Hey, I'm glad you're joining us." He spoke as Wanda nodded beside him.

"Yeah, we're going to this cute diner that has the best cheese!" She exclaimed and you nodded.

"It sounds lovely."

Tony slipped his sunglasses on before speaking, "Are we going? I'm hungry." He stated with an annoyed tone, as Bucky pushed off the SUV and opened the door, getting in.

You bit your lip, watching as Tony got into the driver's seat, Steve in the passenger. Natasha patted your shoulder, gesturing for you to hop in. You nod, stepping into the van, and heading into the back seat, beside Bucky. He said nothing to you, as Natasha and Wanda sat in the two middle seats. You shifted in your seat as you buckled, straightening in your seat as you clasped your hands in your lap. You glanced at Bucky every once in a while, eyeing his metal arm resting on his lap. You had heard stories of The Winter Soldier. Even though you were trained to not feel anything emotionally, you couldn't stop your heart from breaking when you found out about him during your training.

The ride took no longer than fifteen minutes before the car pulled to a stop. You got out and walked over to the building, noticing the sign that read 'Darling Diner', following the group inside. The place was decorated very simply, but well done. There were white walls, light-blue tables, and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. A man greeted you all at the counter, smiling warmly at the group.

"Hello, I'm Burton, but you can call me Tim. How many in your party?" The man with crazy black curly hair asked your group as he grabbed some menus.

"We have six in our party," Steve spoke up, and the waiter nodded.

Tim nodded, "Well, I believe I have just the table for you." He smiled, pointing the group to the table farthest away from the front, which had a nice window seat. You gripped your arm, keeping your head down as you followed them all to the table.

Sitting down beside Wanda and Natasha, you clasped your hands in your lap. Natasha noticed and nudged you slightly making you look up. "You can order. Anything you want." She spoke with a smile and you nodded.

It was still weird to do what you wanted, you never had so much freedom before. It was kind of messing with you. You slowly reached out and grabbed your menu. Following what the others were doing, you opened the menu and skimmed over the words and pictures of food. They all look so delicious, but you didn't know what you wanted. This chance and choices were overwhelming.

Tony leaned forward and placed his elbows on the table, "What are you having?" He spoke, looking at you curiously.

You looked up at him, biting your lip. "I don't know..." You admitted, "I'm not used to being able to get whatever I want."

He chuckled, "That's understandable. Don’t go easy, I got the money." He offered smugly.

You blinked and looked back at the menu, trying to find something that caught your eye. A rosemary salad. You had never heard of that before. So, you wanted to try it.

"Hi, are you all ready to order?" Tim asked as he came over, pulling out a pad and pen.

Toy nodded, slipping his sunglasses off and slipping them into his suit jacket. "I'll have the chicken and shrimp carbonara, and scotch, on the rocks." He ordered as Steve glanced at him.

"Tony, it's not even noon yet." Tony only shrugged as Tim turned to Steve.

"I'll just have a Caesar salad and water, please." Tim nodded, turning to Bucky.

Bucky closed his menu, leaning back against the booth, crossing his arms. "I'll have the mini burger with black coffee." He said gruffly, making you look up at him.

You watched him until Tim cleared his throat, gaining your attention. You looked up at him briefly before looking down, "Rosemary salad... With lemonade. Please, thank you." You said softly, and Tim nodded, writing it all down before looking at Natasha.

"Fettuccine Alfredo, and water please." She answered, closing her menu and putting it in the small stack building at the edge of the table.

"And, I'll have the cheese board, garlic bread, and an iced tea," Wanda spoke up, passing her menu to Tim who nodded in thanks.

"Alright, I'll get those out to you as soon as I can." He spoke before rushing off.

Tony leaned his elbows on the table as he stared at you, unnerving you slightly, "So, Y/N. How did Fury find you?" He asked and Steve nudged him in the arm. "Ow! What? It's just a question." He argued and Steve glared at him as you shook your head.

"It's... It's fine. I, uh, Nick's men infiltrated the Hy- the base I was in. Nick was there to get me out of my cel- room, and he brought me to you guys." You spoke, looking anywhere but at any of them.

Steve's expression softened as he leaned back against the booth, meeting your gaze. "I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm glad Fury was able to save you." He muttered before he looked away, rubbing the back of his neck.

You nodded, swallowing hard. "Thank you, Steve."

"So, why did they need you? Did they experiment on you and give you cool powers or something?" Tony asked again and Steve nudged him again as Natasha and Wanda glared at Tony from across the table. Tony raised his hands in the air, "What? I'm curious."

You watched as Steve, Natasha, and Wanda began to fight with Tony, scolding him and telling him off for asking you something so insensitive. You just lowered your head, clasping your hands tightly together in your lap, as your shoulders. You tried to drown out their arguing but it was hard to. You watched as Tony crossed his arms, rolling his eyes as Steve pointed an accusing finger at him. His eyes were hard as was the frown on his face. Beside you, Natasha and Wanda were telling Tony off. Your ears began to ring as you bit your lip hard, your temple burning as you felt a headache coming. It was hard to understand what any of them were saying, all their voices getting jumbled in your mind as your heart began to race and your eyes began to water. You then glanced over to Bucky, who was already staring right at you. His ocean blue eyes staring into your tearful Y/E/C ones. There was an unknown look in them. You felt the other's loud arguing filter away as you stared back at him, the world around you stopping and growing silent.

You then watched as he slammed his flesh fist onto the table, "Shut up!" He growled, looking over at Tony with a hard glare. "Can't you see you are stressing them out?" He said softer this time.

Steve, Wanda, and Natasha frowned and turned to you, seeing the tear on your cheeks. Natasha sighed and spoke up first, "I am so sorry, Y/N."

You shook your head, smiling softly as you dried your tears. "No, it's fine. I am just not used to loud noises yet is all. And well, fighting in general." You answered and Steve shook his head.

"No, we should've been more considerate." He spoke and Wanda nodded.

"I apologize for the idiot in front of you." She spoke, making you laugh shortly as Tony pouted.

Bucky sighed and leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms, his eyes watching you as you calmed down. You shifted in your seat as the table calmed down too, glancing at the table you thought for a moment, before speaking.

"If you must know, Tony. Yes, to both questions."

Tony looked at you with wide eyes, "I... I'm sorry, Y/N. That's awful." He spoke in a low voice, before leaning back in his chair.

"If I may, Y/N..." Wanda began, gaining your attention. "What are these powers of yours?" She asked gently as she played with the edge of her napkin.

You cleared your throat before speaking,

Okay this may be a lil morbid to bet on but my boyfriend and I have this bet going to see who we think is going to die tonight. Don’t get us wrong we don’t want anyone to die but they have made too many comments about them having a really big cast and the characters themselves on the show have foreshadowed death as well so it kind of feels like someone is gonna die tonight. And they haven’t killed off a main character in a while and ABC always kills main characters cause they hate us. I think it’ll be either Aaron or Celina. My bf is betting it’s anyone else. Who do you think will die maybe?

Oh God, that is morbid… And exactly the type of thing my husband and I would do on any other show haha. Listen, I haven't recovered from Jackson's death so I'm not ready for another one. But not gonna lie, I am scared - way more than last year where I didn't worry much - because there has been a lot of moments that could be foreshadowing a death in the team.

As to who would be the most likely candidate :

. Aaron and Celina are the most obvious… Which also means it could be a red herring. But between all the Jackson's references, the baby name and that guy coming out of nowhere with the dog, I'm having some serious flashbacks… . Bailey is the other obvious choice. And it has the advantage of making it hurt for the main characters (esp. Nolan) without losing your core cast. But she has nine lives, already died this season (with barely any reaction) and the writers love her. . Wesley : he has escaped a lot of narrow situations in the past, has a major target on his back and it would hurt everyone. But Angela has been through a lot in the past 3 seasons, already lost a dear friend : she deserves all the happiness. And losing her husband on top of everything would be downright cruel... Especially when she is about to give birth. . Nyla / James : the scene where they asked Angela and Wesley to raise Leah if something happened to them is still living rent free in my mind for many reasons. Now I can't picture losing both of them at the same time, that'd be tragic. But one of them… . Sergeant Grey : he had a close call last season… And he's been trying to retire for some time. But we already lost the Captain and while he's not replacing her, he's really the only figure of authority we get to see. . Lucy / Tim : Not even going to entertain this one. A close call, I could see that happening. But not a permanent death. There are still too many open storylines for them, individually and as a couple… And yes I'm in denial. Oh and let's leave Tamara alone too. . Angela : she has a target like Wesley… But I doubt the writers would dare kill her now. And her baby better be safe too. . Smitty : he's a beloved character, but not part of the main cast… It could hurt without losing too much of the dynamic.

In other words I have not the slightest idea, it could be anyone... and no one! But at the moment, Aaron, Celina and Wesley are the ones I'm the most nervous about... And Chenford, Tamara, Nyla and Angela the ones I'm the most scared to lose.

Tom, Bill, and Tony are the dads. They're obviously dealing with the kids. But the do mainly try and focus on their own kid because... That their kid ofc they care about them the most. But they try to take care of the other kids too.

Bill has a rough time connecting with anyone besides Alice. But Grace was always nice to him church so there's that. And ofc Alice has gf, a gf he doesn't like a ton but now he's very much stuck with so he might as well try and get along with. They eventually do.

Dan and Donna are two focused on the news and finding out if Peanuts is surving (which yes, Peanuts, (as well as Papa Ed.. At least for a while) are doing fine) and they die pretty quickly. Oh fuck yeah!" *escapes* "oh theres a zombie apocalypse oh no-" some try to stay in a group and live together, some try to go out their own. There's now a bunch of random Pauls and Paul zombies around town. Spoiler alert: the world isn't destroyed. How? Not totally sure yet but probably through Hidgens managing to find a cure and time travel. Emdriod has traveled back in time to replace Emma, but oopsie she didn't travel back far enough so she can't kill Emma in Guatemala, so she goes to Hatchetfield in hopes she can kill Emma when no ones looking and just replace her then, but oh no there's apocalypse so thats a much bigger issue. She survives easily, she's strong af, doesn't need food, all that jazz. She and Emma do meet each other and it's another "wtf?" "how do I explain this?" situation. But Emdriod lies ofc and kinda explains what happened but said that she accidentally time travelled and leaves out the whole wanted to kill her part. Now the Emdriod has found Emma she does try to kill her, that's awfully hard to do tho considering Emma is literally always with a group of people, and Emdriod doesn't want to just kill Emma right in front of everyone bc then they'll all hate her and her goal isn't to just kill Emma it's too replace her. She end up giving up and she runs into Paul 23 and they bond of my doubles of someone and wanted to kill that somoen at first and then fall in love and kill zombies together :)
