Made YET another edit of this meme
Tumblr media
(Image ID: An edited image featuring three pikachus holding either strop signs or rainbow flags and floating text. Part of this meme has been edited out in black with white text added. The text reads "it's "june" which mean it's Time for a reminder that the original version of this meme is incredibly aphobic and ignores the existence of trans and nonbinary people too. Straight aspecs, straight trans folks, straight intersex folks, straight nonbinary folks and heteroromantic gays/lesbians/mspecs exist as well and are still queer. Queer =/= nonstraight. Happy Pride Month yall!". There is also an arrow and black text which reads "And vice versa!". End ID)
I made a typo in the meme but I can't be assed to fix it lol.

don't know who needs to hear this but being queer isn't a competition. if you're a homosexual transgender woman that doesn't make you "more queer" than say a straight transgender man or a cis bisexual person or a heteroromantic asexual person. this is not a hierarchy, this is a community. these labels aren't stars on a uniform determining your rank; just because you have more doesn't mean you are somehow superior to the other queer identities, they belong in the community just as much as you do.

Today is International Asexuality Day! 🖤🩶🤍💜. International Asexuality Day is on April 6th. Please know that Asexuality is a spectrum of sexualities.
Shout out to Graysexuals that experience little sexual attraction. Shout out to Asexuals that experience no sexual attraction. Shout out to Apothisexuals that are repulsed by the idea of sex. Shout out to Aegosexuals that like the idea of sexual activitys, but imagined from a third-person perspective. Shout out to Cupiosexuals that desire to feel sexual attraction despite not being able to. Shout out to Demisexuals that only experience sexual attraction after an emotion bond is formed. Shout out to Lithosexuals who feel sexual attraction only for those that do not reciprocate those feelings. Shout out to Fraysexuals who only feel sexual attraction for people they don't know well.
Shout out to asexuals that feel sexual attraction only in specific conditions. Shout out to asexuals who will never feel sexual attraction. Shout out to asexuals with libidos. Shout out to asexuals that hate the idea of sex. Shout out to asexuals who make sex jokes.
Shout out to heteroromantic, cisgender asexuals. Shout out to transgender asexuals. Shout out to nonbinary asexuals. Shout out to homosexual asexuals. Shout out to genderqueer sexual. Shout out to aromantic asexuals. Shout out to agender asexuals.
And shout out to people who are confused to whether they might be ace or not.
Every single person on the Asexual Spectrum is valid. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise 💜🤍🩶🖤.
Even if you aren't asexual, that's perfectly valid as well ❤️. Please reblog this post, for most people don't know that asexuality is a spectrum and not just one thing.🙏

My boyfriend and I were talking about how each of the batfam make a good allegory for different queer orientations so y'all getting the list <3
Bruce: closeted homosexuality, despite the skin tight leather I actually did wind out settling on the idea that Batman is the het masking and Bruce is the true queer self
Dick: out/open homosexuality
Cass: aromantic allosexuality or transgender
Jason: demisexuality
Tim: bisexuality
Steph: pansexuality
Damian: aromantic asexuality
Duke: heteroromantic asexuality
Note this does NOT equate to my actual headcanons for their orientations, that's in the tags, it's about the way I associate their stories with the way people see and/or experience different queer/lgbt+ orientations. Reblog with your own thoughts on how you think their stories could be allegories for diff queer identities if you want! If you're cooler than me you could put some reasonings, instead of just the horrifying realization that they might've been right when they said Batman was the hetero to Bruce's homo

Split Attraction Model
What is the split attraction model? The split attraction model describes people who experience different romantic and sexual attraction. It was created by the asexual community but can apply to other sexualities, such as bisexuality. The model serves two purposes: it helps people to understand themselves better and to communicate their desires to others.
What is romantic attraction?
Tumblr media
I would describe it as wanting to date or spend the rest of your life romantically involved with someone. It includes dating, courtship, moving in together, marriage, and starting a family. The person experiencing romantic attraction will feel differently about their romantic interest than they do towards family and friends. They may think about them constantly and feel a physical reaction when near this person, such as experiencing the sensation of butterflies in the stomach or an ache when apart. They may also desire a romantic interaction with this person, such as kissing, cuddling, and hugging them in a romantic way. I would also include activities such as romantic dinners, the giving of romantic flowers, and the burning of candles for romantic purposes.
What is sexual attraction?
Tumblr media
I would describe it as feeling physically attracted to someone and wanting to engage with them sexually. Since I have nothing further to add to this topic, let’s shift our focus to the different romantic and sexual attractions people can experience.
Aromantic/asexual people experience little to no attraction.
Demiromantic/demisexual people experience attraction only after forming a strong emotional bond with someone.
Biromantic/bisexual people experience attraction towards two or more genders.
Panromantic/pansexual people experience attraction towards people regardless of their gender.
Homoromantic/homosexual people experience attraction towards the same gender as their own.
Heteroromantic/heterosexual people experience attraction towards the opposite gender as their own.
Note: This list is not exhaustive.
I would like to end the discussion with this question: Do AroAces fall under the split attraction model? I would say “no” because the romantic and sexual attractions align. This is not a definitive answer, for other AroAces may disagree with me, which is completely valid.
This concludes my discussion on the split attraction model. If you have anything to add, please leave a comment. The next topic will discuss a brief overview of ADHD, which I will post on the 8th of January. Until then, take care and stay curious.

The first split attraction model (SAM) was made in 1879 by Karl Heinrich Ulrichs and described bisexuality as well as heteroromantic homosexuality. There’s literally a whole ass wikipedia article on this. Let’s use our brains here a bit, okay?
