Jon Kent Sr knows what the newborn Kittens their cat had sound like, and whatever-whoever-is crying in his barn is not one of them.
He goes to check it out, as he does, and lo and behold; there's another alien child.
Or he assumes she's an alien child, what with the green blood.
The second she notices him, the crying stops, and her form goes from white hair and green eyes and a strange outfit to black hair and blue eyes and the ragged clothes of a homeless tween.
Because that's what she is. This is clearly a lanky-limbed tween, injured and hiding in his barn loft.
More importantly, regardless of what form she just switched to, she needs help.
"Well, looks like you've gotten yourself into a right mess," he says, keeping his hands where her wary eyes can see them, "You're gonna need to clean up a bit, to make sure that doesn't get infected. Why don't you come on down and we'll see about gettin' you bandaged up, maybe get a little pie in ya as well."
It takes thirty more minutes of coaxing, but he manages to get her in the house and sets Martha on her for wound treatment.
He busies himself with getting the girl a plate of leftover dinner that hadn't gone cold yet, when Martha comes back in and nods at him, before opening the kitchen window.
"Clark, sweetie, I think we've just found you a little sister," the air shifts as their son appears between one blink and the next, his eyes wide as he stares at Martha, "But she says her older brother stayed behind so she could escape. Could you get your Justice League friends and go pick up your little brother?"
Jon picks up the plate to take to their new daughter; Clark'll find his new little brother, he's absolutely certain of that. In the meantime, he needs to make sure the little miss gets some food in her.
And, well, Clark could use some more family, and he and Martha had always considered having more kids.
Or, after running from the GIW and Danny staying behind to give her time to escape, Ellie Phantom hides in a random barn in Kansas and accidentally gets herself and Danny adopted by the Kents, who think they're aliens. Clark, upon realizing his parents are very serious about this adoption thing and that his new little brother was probably being subjected to inhumane experimentation from Ellie's description of the situation, does in fact hunt down and retrieve said little brother. He also destroys the base said little brother was being held in.

I like to think that Lex specifically timed this telepathic screwjob just so that Perry would think Jay was two-timing Superman.

I don't want Batman to appear in My Adventures With Superman.
I do, however, think it would be really funny if they let Bruce Wayne wander through a couple of scenes in exactly one (1) episode.

“Since the day I moved to Smallville... you’ve done nothing but lecture me with sanctimonious platitudes. I'm done listening to them”
- Lex Luthor (Smallville 2x12)
Kind of messed up that we’ve reached a point in the show where Jon can say the same thing to Clark and it would make perfect sense

I once saw a post that said you could have your SuperBat in small (Jon/Damian), medium (Kon/Tim), or large (Clark/Bruce) and that got me thinking...does that mean Jonathan Kent Sr. and Alfred are the super-size me option?

Summer Kent lore dump
Ages ago @mik3stuff asked me to tell him about my DC self-insert because he wants to make one too and the ask he sent me got lost in my drafts and i FINALLY remembered and got the motivation to make this! It's long and i do mean LOOOONG because they've existed since 2019 + I tagged canon characters for personal organization and i'm very sorry if that annoys anyone!! /gen /srs
Summer Kent was born Frankie Garcia,in Metropolis,to Mayerlin and Sebastián Garcia. His parents divorced when he was a baby with his mom getting custody of him and his dad neglecting him and they were abusive to him in the classic 'neurotypical cishet parents with a queer neurodivergent kid' way along with some racism on his mom's part since she was white and he grew up getting bullied at school and with no friends too.One of his first memory's is seeing Superman for the first time and being a huge fan of his ever since so when he realized how awfully his parents treated him,he started dreaming Clark would save him
On his 10th birthday,Lex did a rampage across the city in a Lexcorp robot and killed his parents by throwing them onto a building so hard they died on impact, immediately kidnapping Summer to experiment on him afterwards. The experiment in question was to inject him with the dna of the last Kryptofang,a kryptonian species that were basically Krypton's equivalent to dragons but with the addition of telepathy,as an attempt to train him to kill Clark. He was encloused to a Lexcorp lab for 3 days until Clark found him thanks to his and Lois' investigations on Lex's plans.Since Frankie wanted nothing to do with his birth parents,he told Clark his name was Summer when asked since that was the season where he discovered Superman
Summer and Clark instantly bonded so he had no hesitation when he found out about them wanting him to adopt them and this also made Lois his adoptive mom and baby Jon his little brother, along with Jimmy and Lana being his(nonromantically involved)honorary uncle and aunt. They became his sidekick under 'Sparks',both because of his pyrokenisis and his new family being sparks of hope in his life, and him and Lois pulled them out of school so they wouldn't get bullied anymore and Lana was their teacher thanks to her children's education degree she'd previously given up on using.Lex did a smear campaign against Sparks/Summer to detract suspicioun on himself and that made them become more angry and violent and pessimistic than ever combined with their fresh trauma(Clark,Lois and Jimmy did their best to spread good word of them ofc)
A year into his sidekick career, they met Jason due to Clark bringing him on a Justice League mission the same day Bruce did him and they butted heads because of their opposite personalities but were best friends by the end of the day, calling eachother 'Basket Case and Bird Boy' as insults turned affectionate nicknames.Through him,Summer also befriended Eddie and Jason dubbed them 'The Magic Trio' due to his belief that being Robin gave him magic,Eddie's demon theme and Summer's powers.Jason was a positive influence on Summer with his optimistic and peppy attitude and genuine belief in him and made him become more of an 'ideal' hero.Ironically,Bruce disliked him because he thought it would be the other way around
Sparks eventually gained the nickname 'Superpunk',much to his dismay because the Metropolis media meant it as an insult and he was also a goth tomboy both in and out of costume
Clark got Dick and Kory to mentor Summer and this led to them becoming Summer first crushes, with him being aware of the Dick one and throughly embarrased by how obvious they were with it against their will and confusing their's on Kory for jealousy over her being Dick's soulmate(but there was no pick me-ness on his part and instead they were always kind and supportive to eachother). His bi awakening happened when he was 14 and slightly unrelated but in this verse,Eddie was Jason's.An unofficial mentor and moreso intergenerational friend was Selina, who he gained his love of cats from
When Jason was 15,he realized he'd fallen in love with Summer and Dick convinced him to ask him out to a Gotham Academy dance as a confession but then Ditf happened and Summer shut down so hard he had to put the sidekick mantle on hold.On june 1st,he flew to Gotham to visit Jason's grave and got into a fight with Mr Freeze, who accidentally killed him via hypothermia and that made the ghost of the last Kryptofang manifest in his headspace along with his own ghost. They had a conversation that ended with him naming it 'Fantasma' and it convincing him to live again.Clark ressurected him with the Kryptonian Regeneration Matrix using a piece of his hair,Summer having lost three fingers by the time he came back to life and now living with prosthetics.Clark and Lois sent him to live with Jonathan and Martha in hopes of helping him cope and it worked as he learned how to do farmwork, diy and bake, was showered in kindness by his abuelos and got close to Fantasma who taught him Kryptofang things(which Clark also had with the info in the Fortress of Solitude but it had even better knowledge on them than him for obvious reasons)
A while later,Summer moved back to Metropolis after demanding to when he saw Superboy(Kon)and Supergirl(Cindy)on TV,wondering what the fuck was going on.Their relathionship had a rocky start to say the least but Summer still tried to be the best older sibling he could be to them once he saw how poorly the adults in their lives treated them and this led to them having a healthy if very weird dynamic and Summer himself got a new pseudo father-son relathionship in John while they worked on fixing the broken KRM.Jon had developed a love of video games while he was gone and got Summer into them too and over the course of these runs is when we get the arrivals of 4/8 the remaining Superkids:Mia,Chris,Laney and Match and since this was at the same time as Stephanie's and Cass' Robin and Batgirl eras,he teams up with them and they become a trio with Summer taking Babs place as their third while Babs is allowed to truly stay Oracle like she deserves-He was also much kinder to Stephanie than almost everyone else and this made it so they're the closest out of all the platonic World's Finest duos
The combo of his character development and constantly being around Kon and Stephanie who're both gnc trans people in their own ways made Summer's egg as a bigender and genderfluid transmasc crack and he got a new costume and official hero identity under 'Superpunk' for reclamation that only lasted 3 months until he switched to newER one under 'Ember' as he realized he's actually a pastl femme now,Kory and Dick helping him make the second costume. As Ember,he became second only to Clark on the beloved Metropolitan hero list thanks to how many feats he accomplished and his bubbly sweetness and humility and told his Papí he wanted a boy middle name so he gave him two:Valentino and 'Va-El',a kryptonian one to show him he saw him as much his son as he does his bio kids. While all this was going down over the years including the above part,he also had his first relathionship in Rose, dated Kyle(who is only a bit older than 90s YJ like him to avoid creepiness)and had a short thing with Eddie and befriended Natasha,Helena,Cassie,Bart,@insomniac-jay's Dahlia,Solana,Lilith and Daisy,@honeypotsworld's Onya and Lucille,@theautisticcentre's Mathew and Jennifer and @refrigeratedboombursts's Kahali.Kara,Mae,Karen and Krypto come in here too
In Utrh,Bruce calls him to Gotham because he has a feeling Red Hood is Jason but dosen't tell him that's why.Summer still resents him for not killing the Joker but Dick convinces him to agree and him and Jason get into a one on one fight where Jason recognizes him and unmasks himself.Summer is nearly shellshocked because they recognize him too now and he tries to go in for a hug while talking about how much he missed them and makes a joke phrased compliment on their current look and attitude but they fly off in heartbreak at their childhood best friend coming back only for him to be evil.Fantasma forms a mindlink between the two since it's tired of Summer's constant thoughts of him yet refusal to talk to him and this leads to them reconnecting and reforming their bond that was never really lost, including Jason coming to visit him in Metropolis, over the course of a whole year.He also regains his confidence in his love for them and starts shamelessly flirting with them and they're very flustered by it and pretend to hate it but they're secretly loving every second of it,as well as being convinced he's just messing with them instead of having actual feelings for them
Duke is the 5th Robin in this verse instead of Damian and We Are Robin still existed but like him they're elementary and middle school ages instead of high schoolers and Summer is an older sister figure to him,Mar'i is also canon here and two years younger than Lian and they grow up to date and Talia gets herself out of the man-driven narratives DC refuses to free her from by taking over Lexcorp and turning into a force for good by completely rehauling it and is a comphet lesbian happily in love with Selina
Summer becomes Damian's first real friend in their miniseries that takes place slightly before SOB which is about him befriending people his age specifically and regularly appears on Stephanie's Batgirl(60 issues here),Duke's Robin,Cassie's Wonder Girl and all the other Superkids' runs(Kon upgrades to Power Boy instead of the T-Shirt bullshit)and @jellyjays 's Blitz Cross, one of Summer's many found siblings, makes it's debut inbetween these time frames
Jason is an influence on him once again but this time in the opposite direction, making him become more sardonic and brutal as Ember and this causes the Metropolis media to frame him as 'evil all along' which hurts him so much he decides to finally join The Outlaws. The original trinity is Jason himself,Eddie and Rose and once Summer joins as 'Ignite' with a new suit he made and an additional black domino mask gifted to him by Jason to match him, they're 'The Dark Core Four' and @moonage-gaydream's Pepper is their Greta in the sense that she joined because of her crush on one of them-Summer,who she befriended before he ditched Metropolis and who liked her back.Thaddeus(who's a trans girl)is added to the team after they accidentally save her life and then come in order Kahali,Kyle,Artemis,Imani,Mathew,Lilith and Daisy simaultanously,Duke,Azriel(Created by Jay once again),Venus and finally Jennifer.Jaysumm are the Team Mom and Dad from the start AKA Dadhood and Supermom but Thaddeus legitimately views Summer as her mother
Their base is an old abandoned but still functional mansion of Bruce's that they call 'The Fortress',Rhato is 104 issues lasting 3 years in-universe,the Outlaws are a crazy ass and morally gray found family,Mathew is the token cis and Pepper is the token allistic and they've disbanded by the end but on good terms and keep in touch.During it,Jason Summer and Mathew are briefly Lanterns(Star Sapphire/Violet,Black and Green respectively),Rose leaves back Ravager to become Willow,Kyle upgrades to White Lantern,Thad realizes she's a girl mid-way through,Kahali gets killed and ressurected just like his didi Summer and Duke gains reality warping in addition to light and darkness powers. He's actually the reason the N52 exists so he's God actually.Summer takes some detours later on in the run as Outlaw bussiness gets him tangled up with the Gotham Academy kids and starring in the Lumberjanes crossover
Canon couples other than Jason and Summer are Eddie/Lilith,Rose/Imani or Rose/Pepper,Tim/Kahali,Kyle/Venus,Artemis/Daisy,Mathew/Jennifer,Duke/Luna(my Aquafam oc i made to be his love interest)and Thad/Azriel.There's also some mix and match verse's in there, including an adult Outlaws polycule
Jaysumm is finally canonized in this series via Summer one day being especially stressed out and missing the Superfam to boot and Jason comforting him which turns into a makeout session and them sleeping together and agreeing to be fwb because Summer somehow STILL dosen't realize Jason is literally in love with him and they're now a couple in every way but going on dates until Summer has another intense missing of the Superfam day on halloween when he wants to take Jon trick or treating so Jason and him sneak out in a werewolf and fairy costume respectively to do it together, with Jon wearing an Ember costume because he missed his first brother just as much. They have a great night and Jon and Jason still get along like they did when he used to babysit him as Robin and after they drop him at home when they finish, they stop by the fast food restaurant Summer used to work at for late dinner and that's when he finally has his Jason love epiphany. He goes through several stages of emotion over the next hours and blurts out a confession when they make it back to the Fortress because it's killing him and Jason confesses back and they have a long session of different kinds of kisses as they go to Summer's room to sleep
Post-Rhato,Summer goes back to Metropolis with Jason in toe due to their dating status at the same time Clark ends up in a coma thanks to saving Jon from Ultraman so Summer takes up the Superman mantle in the meantime since he's the eldest Kent sibling.Kenan,Carol,Jane,Laura and Lucy are Superfam members by now and Summer,Lois,Martha,Kara and John make his Superman suit together as a bonding activity and his hero work is better than ever, the effort he puts into it being to redeem himself from what he did as vigilante. Also,Talia makes him his own Krypto equivalent with kryptonian technology named 'Kryptona',a robotic female supercat who can speak english, spanish, arabic and kryptonian and has pink hearts for pupils
He also mentors Damian's team, the All New Teen Titans, because Jon is a part of it and so do Jason,a newly Batwoman Stephanie,Duke codenamed 'Eris' and Cassie who's now 'Wonder'.The members other than Damian(Shadowbird)and Jon(Superboy)are Maps(Robin),Maya(Nobody),Suren(Fang),Kathy(Beacon),Colin(Abuse),Irey(Thunderheart),Bobby(Wonder Boy),Nell(Batgirl),Keli(Teen Lantern)and Laurel(Supergirl + A trans girl variant of Jon instead of a genderswap and Earth 11 is generally very different here).75 issues, their Titans Tower is in Brooklyn and the ships are Damimaps,Jonay,Mayakathy and Surnell but only Mayakathy is explicit and the rest are just implied since they're all so young.Stephcass and Cassiegeorgia are canon too
Two years pass until Clark wakes up and by then,Metropolis loves Summer so much that when he announces he's been Ember, son and daughter of Superman, the whole time and is going back to it they do multiple kinds of grand apologies to him for their mistreatment and Jason also gave him a domino mask again but this time a baby pink one to symbolize him finally embracing all parts of himself and Summer adds on a pastel trans flag colors Superfamilia battle jacket and pink demonias for the final touch.Them and Jason have officially settled down together as they buy a house and have Metropolitan and occasionally Gothamite adventures and end up having four kids:October,Gus and Zane(identical twins)and Thea.Summer opens up his own bakery called 'Summer's Desserts' but stays Ember and Jason becomes a librarian when he's not Red Hood

Some Interesting Details I've Noticed in My Adventures with Superman 1x01-02
The Jor-El hologram appears to be an AI - he appears to even say "AI" in his first pre-recorded speech to Clark though it's hard to tell. But in particular, this AI isn't all-knowing: It learns as it goes. This is more accurate to how AI currently works. So, in his first encounter with Clark, opening the ground beneath him doesn't get a good response? Next time he just zaps him. Talking in Kryptonian doesn't work? Use visuals instead. The fact that the ship itself has grown is also fascinating. Perhaps the Jor-El AI will eventually be able to learn English! (My guess is that won't happen until mid-season or season finale)
Superman's energy bursts being blue-colored appear consistent with the Superman Blue/Electric Superman run in the 1990s, where Superman lost his traditional powers and became a being of pure energy. This is oddly timely considering Clark's son Jon Kent is starting to tap into these same powers in the Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent comics. Will they tap into this arc at some point in the show? Is it just a Mythology Gag that happens to make Superman more like the anime character the show is going for? Curious minds want to know.
Speaking of Jon Kent, Jonathan Kent Sr. actually seems to almost nip Clark's fears in the bud after that first encounter with Jor-El. Often children's fear response comes partly from the reactions of adults around them, and while Jonathan started to reassure Clark that even though it was scary, he's okay, Martha is the fearful one. She remains fearful even when Clark is a young adult, though for a justified reason. I'm interested to see this play out, but I'm a little sad they chose to portray it this way. They sort of inadvertently made Martha part of the reason he's initially scared of his powers, though at least that seems to be mending after the transformation sequence, where she recognizes Clark is more than just her baby boy.
Clark wears glasses as a kid, before he gets powers. In some comics continuities this was to hide the otherworldly color of his eyes, so that might be all that is. But it does make me wonder if at one point Clark actually needed glasses, but his vision corrected itself at some point, a la Tobey McGuire Spider-Man.

What would your Earth 3 Superboy be like?
Tumblr media
I made a chart
So Ultraman (Killy Kent), Superwoman (Lois Lane), and Captain Alexander Luthor Sr are three legs of an incredibly toxic triangle. Lo and Xander's kid is a metahuman capable of antimatter manipulation and is a host for Uxas Darkseid bred by the Cult of Darkseid's mother, Heggra (made up of the Amazons of Earth-3's Demon Island). Lara Kon-Vex is a clone ("Luthor-El") created from Killy and Xander and she's Earth-3's Ultra(-Humanite) as a counterpart to Superhuman (Earth-0's Lara) and also her world's tallest, meanest lesbian (again, as opposed to Lara-Prime, who's Earth-0's tallest, nicest lesbian--Tim Drake notwithstanding). Jan Lane is Killy and Lois's love child and Alex Jr.'s younger sibling. He has Jon's "raised in a volcano" backstory and some aspects of n52 Lor-Zod that I didn't want to give my version of Chris. "Problem Child" is reference to the "Golden Child" version of Jon. He's the current "Ultraboy" and boyfriends with The Insider, a former Talon (and Damian's E-3 counterpart).
Lara also has a rival in Miss Match, another clone whose slow degradation prompts her to fight the Imperial Regime.

The Kents and petite E.D. Yin
Featuring my OC Yin ( see my Wattpad for introduction to Yin )
MAJOR TW
: Eating Disorder
: Touching
Don't Like Don't Read
Inspired by the Justice League series Christmas Episode when Clark comes back home for the holidays and Martha goes, "Have you been eating? You look thin!"
Inspired by seeing someone for the first time in months / years and the first thing they say about you / to you is "you're so skinny!"
- - -
Yin was invited to the Kent family farm for the holidays. She was very excited to see the farm, animals, and of course Mrs. and Mr. Kent. Yin had not seen them in years!
Yin excitedly exited Clark's old truck and ran towards the door. Her long shawl flowing behind her. Martha Kent met her halfway and Jonathan Sr stood at the door. As he looked out to the group, Krypto and Jonathan Jr followed Yin's example and his parents joined him for a group hug. All together they entered the home to catch up and enjoy the winter weekend.
Martha was always so happy to have her babies back home. Any time is a good time when spent with family, she always says. Her babies of all shapes and sizes, all starts and stories.
They chat, laugh, eat, and drink.
Well, most of them.
Martha feels a kind of Mom Radar going off and notices Yin has barely touched her plate!
Her plate piled high with all the fixins, Martha begins to worry Yin has lost her tastebuds! Was there something wrong with her cooking? This thought seems impossible, Yin used to have such a vivacious appetite and her cooking has never been dismissed before by anyone!
"Yin, dear, are you enjoying your food?"
Her question breaks the chorus of chewing and chomping from the table.
The Kents don't know.
"Yes Mrs. Kent! I just ate before I got here, and I'm still a little full." Yin gives her go-to excuse and finishes with a friendly giggle.
Jon sees right through her response and gives Yin a sympathetic look. He isn't sure how his grandparents are going to react to the news though.
Lois saves Yin's soul with a lavish compliment about the gravy. With the tension broken, Clark, Jon Sr., Jon Jr., and even Krypto resume inhaling their dinner.
Yin gives a performative sip of water and bite of her food to even the mood. Martha slowly returns to her own dish, but still isn't satisfied. Why would Yin eat before she came to visit? How could she still be hungry after the drive? Well... maybe they stopped on the way... or had snacks. Martha is still a bit confused about the whole ordeal, but she guesses it's alright. There are always leftovers in this household.
Yin ends up needing to wrap up her food while the boys are finishing their seconds and thirds. Lois finishes her initial serving and helps Yin with packing her food. Again, saving her skin. Lois shuffles Yin out of the kitchen as by now the sun has gone down and so has the temperature. The ladies excuse themselves to change into something more warm and Yin thanks her lucky stars for having such great people in her life. She reminds herself she needs to be more careful, and maybe it won't hurt to fake just a little harder? Martha clocked on to her behavior so quickly, but truly she's not surprised.
When the table and kitchen are cleared, everyone settles into the living room. Lois and Yin descend from the stairs and into the gathering. The festivities have already started with the Christmas tree in its rightful spot, multiple boxes of ornaments, and the TV playing on a local station. The classics always show on the local channels! They smile and go to help.
Everything is going smoothly, until Yin goes to put an ornament high on the tree. Too high, as she will soon find out.
"YONG LIN! Your BONES!", Jonathan Sr.'s booming voice catches everyone's attention.
In an instant they're all looking at Yin. Her shoulders slump in defeat as this uncomfortable yet familiar situation unfolds.
Yin is caught in the middle of putting an ornament up and unfortunately her sweater was too short for the extension. Her hip bones are on full display for the entire room. Jutting out into the open air. Into their line of vision.
The grand Kents release a gasp of surprise.
Even after raising alien beings, some things are still odd. Martha and Jonathan Kent are from a different era in time. When models were a size 16 and scales were not as much of an issue and being from the Midwest, the Kents were raised on a strong culture of hospitality. This culture frequently included food. Sharing a meal around the table was how you bonded, how you showed your love. It is essential! Important! How could someone get so... skinny? Food is what fueled a person! They were always surrounded by bigger people. What is their "normal" is just not everybody's "normal". Seeing a person's bone is usually a call for alarm, yet Yin is standing? Moving and speaking? It's strange...
Jonathan steps forward with his eyes fixed on her hip bones. Yin draws back and shoves her sweater down, but Mr. Kent's hands stop her. She meets his eyes and sees a depressing shocked expression. Martha moves into her view and also places a hand on the scrunch of sweater.
"Sweetheart, do you mind taking off your sweater?"
It is a peculiar request.
But Yin knows this is not malicious demand. What the Kents are feeling is just a morbid curiosity. From the look of their faces, concern too. She assumes they "just want to know she's okay".
Yin slowly brings her bulky sweater up and over her head, wearing a thin u-neck long sleeve under. With the sweater now off, her collarbones are also unveiled.
Martha's warm hand reaches up to poke it. A distorted expression flashes across her face, but she changes it quickly so as to not be rude.
Jonathan takes a small step back, one hand reaching up to cover his face and another arm across his body.
Clark and Lois try to steady their breaths, they have known about Yin's issues for a while. They have tried to intervene, but Yin is the only one who can let herself get better. Jon has actually known longer than his parents. He learned about Yin's eating disorder in a similar fashion. It was a restaurant run gone wrong. Jon was reminded of her condition every time they went out. In warmer weather, Yin's clothes always made her stick out. Just like her bones.
The Kents look toward Clark and Lois holding each other from the sofa. Their son hangs his head in a quiet shame and Lois purses her lips. Jon can see the stress starting to get to Yin. He reaches out to her hand and leads her up the stairs without a word.
Yin has actually been doing so well. She doesn't care what people say about her anymore. She can go outside and wear whatever. She can stand in the mirror for an acceptable amount of time. She has found she loves her body, even if it makes people react like this.
Yin would usually not be bothered by something like this. It just hits a little harder when it's someone you know.
She can hear the commotion going on downstairs. Jonathan holds her closer and they just sit there in silence.
Yin tries to ignore it, but she will eventually have to face the Kents and everything they have to say. People always have something to say to people that look like her.
Yin has had a lot of awkward moments due to her eating habits and appearance. She'll just have to explain and move on. She can't change the feelings of others. She only hopes they will understand.

Back and Forth - ReneTheStan

Summary:
"Jon…Jon I can't take it anymore…I don't even know why I'm calling you. You're still in space or whatever. I was an idiot to think that I could have a friend, and even more so to believe that anyone would even care. Grayson abandoned me, also my father and Alfred...Alfred died because of me...I...
"Who am I kidding, Jon?...I can't go on with this anymore"
Fic under cut
As he bounced his feet against the tiled floor to kill time waiting for visiting hours to arrive, young Jonathan Samuel Kent thought about the contrast of light and dark that was produced by the sunlight that entered through the windows covered with metal bars.
The neuropsychiatry section of Arkham Asylum was not at all what the son of Superman had expected. Perhaps the legends that his "little brother" had told him about the place were simply exaggerations to scare him when they were little.
A couple of lonely tears escaped her eyes, making their way down her cheeks and ending up on the marble floor. Jon clenched his fists as if that would make time pass faster.
Going back to the look of the place, it didn't deviate much from what the hospitals in Metropolis, if you count the baroque architecture, pointed and with decorative gargoyles that covered every inch of the place, but... what else to expect from Gotham City?
"Jonathan?" The eighteen year old boy looked up and met the brown eyes of Dr. Thompkins.
The steps taken from the waiting room to room 206 were too slow for the son of Superman. As if the New Gods wanted to torture him by making the whole process as burdensome as possible. The boy felt like he had a noose around his neck that only tightened with each step on the marble floor of the hallway.
But no matter how much he was suffering at the time…he had made a promise and Lois Lane's son would never break a promise.
When they reached the  room, Jon took a deep breath, steeled himself, and slowly turned the doorknob.
Jon just breathed calmly when he could see Bruce Wayne had not hung from a rope made of sheets, but was coloring a children's book on a chair in front of his bed.
ONE WEEK AGO
Jon knew deep down that something had gone terribly wrong as soon as he heard his mother crying from his room. The mere thought of that happening was enough to wake the teen from his nap.
His first instinct was to fly out of there, which he did at great speed. In a split second he found himself in the kitchen of Jonathan Senior and Martha Kent. In it, the two older adults were watching a report by Jon's mother on TV, where there was a large red banner that read: "latest news."
"Mom," Jon said quietly realizing his mother wasn't really there. "Pa, Ma…what's going on?" The boy turned to see his grandparents.
Martha was a very sensitive woman and at that moment she was stoic, almost in shock, while Jonathan was the one who was crying.
"Jonny…it's about your little friend in Gotham City…"
.
.

Jon didn't need to use his laser vision to know that Bruce was barricaded in his youngest son's room.
The outward flight was practically a millisecond, the boy of steel found himself at the gate of Wayne Manor, around him there were hundreds of police officers commanded by James Gordon Sr., who warned the boy's deaf ears that Superman was already in the premises and that it was best not to intervene.
But Jon wasn't listening. Rather, he was focused on the beating of his father's heart. It sounded erratic and of almost uninterrupted frequency.
Jon could have sworn he blinked just once and suddenly found himself in Bruce Wayne's hallway.
His father, the man of steel, was sitting outside the main room. With his head in his hands
"Bruce…Bruce please get out of there…" He begged, like someone who had already given up completely.
"Oh Jon," Superman said looking up, noticing his son. "I didn't want you to find out like this…"
"How long has he been there?" Jon asked coldly.
"Three days, at least…" Jon ignored the pain of that information.
"I've tried everything to make him see reason, to make him understand that Damian…but he's not listening to me, he's like in a trance. I tried to force him out but he has kryptonite and I…"
"I'm going in…"
" Jon, I've tried everything, what makes you think that–
"Mr. Wayne? I'm Jon Kent…Damian's friend."
A minute of silence passed. Jon took a deep breath.
"Listen Mr. Wayne, we both love Damian, I know you don't want to believe he would have done something like that, I don't either. …
"I'll help you get to the bottom of this if you let me in"
The door opened slowly, from inside came a thick, almost sinister voice.
"I'll just talk to the boy…" Batman warned.
Jon tried not to burst into tears the moment he stepped into Damian's room and the door closed behind him. In that split second he saw the legs sticking out from behind his large Victorian bed in a pool of blood.
"Superboy…" Batman said in his typical pentatonic voice. "Keep your composure, no matter how real it looks, you must believe what I tell you…"
"My son didn't kill himself…"
His violet eyes met Bruce's bloodshot blue ones.
"It's a Scarecrow or Bane trick…Damian would never do something like that, he's too stubborn to die like that…"
Jon nodded slowly.
"Mr. Wayne…"
"Names, Superboy."
Jon nodded again. "Maybe it would be easier if you could show me how you came to that conclusion, I believe you, it's my father who needs to be convinced…
"Sure, Superboy…" Batman said. "Well, to begin with, when Alfred examined the body, he found that–"
He stopped in his tracks. Jon watched as Batman's pupils slowly returned to their original size and the red color left his eyes. At that moment he knew his move had gone too well.
"Alfred…Dick…Damian… "
"I'm so sorry, Bruce…"
Another minute of pause and silence passed.
"Bruce!" Jon yelled and used his super speed to snatch the batarang out of her hands and grab it from behind before she could even brace it against his chest. throat.
"Jon," Bruce said softly. "I'm dead anyway. "
"I'll be sent to Arkham for interfering with a police investigation during an emotional breakdown, at least let me be with my son."
Jon ignored all the emotions that suddenly surged through him upon hearing that and remained stoic.
"Damian was strong throughout his life and in your one weak moment you decided to kill yourself, if you weren't strong yourself...it would be an insult to your memory."
"I will visit you in Arkham and give you my protection if necessary."
ONE WEEK LATER.
Jon returned to home after the funeral, he told his parents he needed space and they didn't object. The eighteen-year-old boy went to his room and decided to open his cell phone to see who had left messages of condolence for him.
He didn't expect to find a Voicemail from two weeks ago from Damian. His finger moved independently of his brain and he pressed play.
The tone that indicates the end of the message sounded. Jon buried his face between his knees and covered his head with his arms.

hey Happy New Year and it's because it's new years a new years ask: imagine if (10 year old) Jon invited (young justice TV series) Conner for new years in metropolis. What do you see the two of them Lois and Clark doing and do you see the 4 of them being in the city for the countdown to the new year?
Since this ask can also apply to my Ideal version of The Kent Family as well, I am more than happy to include Martha and Jonathan Sr, Kara and especially Chris to the mix.
That being said, At the Kent Apartment in Metropolis, the family would do usual socializing, maybe one or two bingo games, some conversation about what they plan to do for the New Year and once it becomes around 10:30 to 11pm, they go to Downtown Metropolis, it’s equivalent of Times Square for the Big Countdown
Happy New Year to You as Well, @we-cross-universe-king-relate , May God Bless

The Kent family dynamics are interesting and I like exploring each boy’s relationship with each parent and their internal struggle, but the XK+ Jon’s relationships issues with his parents (especially  Clark) is getting dragged out. I don’t want an easy fix or anything, but they way it takes over pretty much Jon’s entire screen time this season, and a lot of his screen time in s1, makes it feel dragged out. I get that flaws in family dynamics/parenting styles don’t always (or even usually) get spotted easily, because it is easy to see patterns when watching a tv show, it’s harder to do in real life. But I just wish they would get on with it already.
My personal preference would have been that the xk-scandal was the turning point and after that things started moving forward. There would be some tension and arguing, but also some progress betwen Clois and Jon in 2x08, but after that, things would start improving between them and episodes 2x09-2x13 would include at least one talk each addressing at least one the issues Jon is facing (expect 2x10, which would have Clark interacting with Jon-El instead). There would be some arguing (covering for Candace, Jon wanting weapons to protect himself, which his parents are unsure about at first). But overall more listening, bonding and discussing solutions for specific problems.
2x08: One or two big talks about the xk, why Jon is covering for the dealer and why he took some himself. Not everything is fixed or and it doesn’t address everything, but at least sometings are out in the ope and it is a good step forward.
2x09-2x13: At some point Jon has a talk with Lois about being on the sidelines and feeling left out when Clark and Jordan bond about their powers, where Lois reminds him that while it is a unique experience having their powers, he should focus on the things he can do and everthing that connects him with his brother and father.
2x09-2x12: A scene between him and Jordan where they address how Jon feels like the town pariah, while Jordan is saving people, and how he feels about Jordan protecting him. Jordan points out that he doesn’t see Jon as a screw up, he just wanted to protect his gf+ only cheated during one game before regretting it, that at least he didn’t break his brother’s arm when he decided to play football with powers, reminds him that Jon has done plenty of badass stuff himself (like saving clark from JHI, saving lois and sam from Egde’s subjects) and that he is just happy to be able repay Jon for all the times he has been there for him.
2x11-13: Bring up how Clois tend to encourage Jon to stay positve and wait for things to get better, instead of validating his feelings and letting him be upset whenever he has a problem that can’t be easily solved right away (like being unhappy with moving to Smallville or not making starting qb).
2x11 or 2x12 brings back the issue around Jon feeling unsafe and wanting means to protect himself.
2x12-2x13 there is a talk in the truck after a driving lesson between Clark and Jon, where they talk about what things Jon might be interested in besides sports. They discuss mechanics as an option, Clark suggest shop class for Jon and mentions that it is something that is “in the family” since they come from a long line of scientist on Krypton and that Jonathan Sr. taught Clark alot about fixing machinery. This could lead to a discussion about Clark wanting to find time to teach the boys more about Krypton and House of El.
2x08 could end on a positive or negative note between Clois and Jon. In both versions Jon explains his side. Clois explain that they don’t know enough about X-K to know if it is safe for his health, and while his intentions are good, then covering for the dealer is hurting him and could get ppl hurt or even killed, since X-K is dangerous. They also remind him that football (and sports in general) are far from being the only thing in the world he is good at, and that they weren’t pulitzer prize winners or superhero’s at his age anyways. Not everything is fixed or even out in the open, but it is a good step forward.
The positive version would involve Clois managing to convince Jon to reveal Candace’s identity in exchange for immunity or he reveal who the supplier is instead, either because Clois convince him that it is best for the dealer to get out of the xk-selling buisness, no matter how much they need the money, or because Jon and Candace realize after being attacked by Mickey that dealing x-k isn’t a safe career path. Clois’ fight with Jon would end there in 2x08, but it would still impact the plot because the part about covering for Candace would brought up in/lead to discussions about things like honesty, trust, how to protect people and if the boys are ready to make big descions for themselves, and the part about using xk would be used to address Jon’s insecurities.
In negative version Clois fail to consider bringing up the danger that the dealer could be in and Mickey attacking them doesn’t change his mind either, so Jon still won’t reveal Candace’s identity. So while Clois are fairly sure that Jon will be more careful about cheating and using substances not sold in any grocery store food aisles, then they still have to deal with him hiding the dealer’s identity. This means that Jon’s fight with his parents would end in 2x11 instead of 2x08. 2x11 is still about Jon and Clark trying to reconcile, which would at first but then succeed by the end. Then 2x12-13 would rebuild their relationship and the last two episodes focuse on other stuff like fighing Ally and convincing Jon-El to join them.
