Stephanie Brown:
Is poor
Has an abusive dad who was also a supervillain and that led to her becoming a superhero to spoil his plans but she focused a lot on helping out other less fortunate people in addition to fighting crime
Did badly often in school despite her extreme intellegence
Has anger issues and violent tendencies that manifest in her getting extra brutal in fights and being lowkey mean in general but she almost entierly directs it to people who deserve it
Is emotionally intense with ways of showing friendship that her classmates found offputting and that led to her being isolated from them and having almost no friends
Listens to Metallica
Took Tim Drake on a date to a shitty basement party with a bunch of alt teens
Was willing to kill at 14,including her own dad and only changed that because Bruce Wayne convinced her too
Loved Cassandra Cain romantically in a gritty dark future Batman run,has been Batwoman in two which is a mantle that has been held exclusively by a Kate Kane who is a butch lesbian and has shown multiple hints of being bi in the main timelines
Yelled and screamed at and even assaulted grown ass adults in her teen years for treating her badly with no fear and this stays into her adulthood
Grew up to be a Team Mom by at least her Batgirl days and the targets of her mothering were a biracial boy(Damian Wayne),two darkskin black girls(Nell Little and Tiffany Fox),a japanese girl(Maps Mizoguchi)and MANY other unnamed kids we see her being implied to care for
Presents super femininely but in a way that most guys in-universe find bad instead of attractive and she dosen't care about this because she dosen't want normies
Is a literature nerd,an artist,a gamer,a pianist AND a gymnist
Makes her own superhero gear
Uses optimism for a better world and trauma fueled spite as her motivation for heroism
Got treated like shit by almost everyone as a kid but we see this explicitly in her hero days with how much Bruce puts her down because she wasn't good enough for him
Does activism even outside of hero work
Is canonically pastel punk and accidentally autistic-coded and genuinely a real weirdgirl, not a fucking 'basic white girl' or a queen bee just because she's blonde and blue eyed and it's worth noting she's also been described as flat-chested as a jab but it not working because she loves her looks perfectly and that she's never shown any particular liking for being blonde and seeing as she got her hair from her dad, this is completely valid
She's Stephanie Brown,not Stacie White.Stop.Making.Her.Only.Trait.Her.Gender.Babygirl deserves better

I was gonna make a post about how i wish the DC fandom would say Stephanie has a thing for mean but kind goths because of Tim and Cass(and also because i relate so much to her already so that would only add to it)like how they do with Dick having a thing for redheads because of Kory,Roy,Babs and Wally with my reasoning being that there actually is as much good writing and evidence for Stephcass as there is for Timsteph in the comics unlike with D/B and D/W but then i remembered Jason exists so he'd definitely get shoved into it and now ion wanna. Can't have shit in Gotham

Had the thought “How would the Dynamic Duo of Batman!Dick and Robin!Stephanie have gone?” and immediately started tearing Preboot canon apart and rebuilding it like a LEGO set.
~
Firstly, we gotta make sure Damian isn’t getting sidelined, and for that I propose he and Tim are a team for BruceQuest. Have Damian’s yearning to get to know his dad outweigh his dislike/jealousy/etc of Tim, and highlight Tim’s canonical compassion and forgiving nature.
Either they both make new mantles for this, or they’re both color-coded Robins. Red Robin for Tim, since he’s using Kon’s colors, Green or Blue Robin for Damian (I like Green for he ties to his mom, but him trying to make his own version of the Nightwing suit in some attempt to outrank Tim and everyone calling him Blue Robin would be very funny).
Things start out tense, Damian is only listening to Tim because a) Tim will just have a Titan pick Damian up and drop him back off in Gotham if he’s too much trouble like he was during Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul, and b) Tim is the only person who believes Bruce is alive and is cautiously keeping some of the methodology of proving it to himself at first.
In the original 2009 Red Robin comic, Tim repeatedly got sidetracked with hero work during his quest. Have that keep happening, and actually spend more time in that period than RR did, because it’s part of Damian’s growth. He starts out pissed at the delays and confused by Tim’s insistence on helping strangers. Tim gives some talks about the Bat philosophy and about why he keeps coming back to the hero life despite everything it’s taken from him.
Damian gets thanked by some of the people they rescue, and slowly shifts from pride in his fighting skills to pride in helping people. Eventually starts actively looking for people to help while they’re searching for artifacts. Tim is so flipping proud of him.
Sets us up for some big choices when the League of Assassins finally gets involved.
~
Okay, back to Stephanie, rewinding the comics even further:
1: Don’t kill off Arthur ‘Cluemaster’ Brown, we need him for later.
2: Tim & Steph never date because this is my LEGO set and I want more platonic boy-girl friend pairs in fiction, dang it. Bruce never tells Steph Tim’s identity and Tim is still keeping it secret. Rather than stalking Tim at school and seeing another girl kiss him, Stephanie and Tim are in the middle of an ongoing argument about secret identities when Jack discovers Tim is Robin and makes him step down.
Tim contacts Steph over the phone to let her know why Spoiler won’t be seeing him around, and that’s when she pulls what she did in canon of making her own Robin suit and volunteering with Batman.
Keep most of War Games, but nix the prolonged torture (because fuck that shit) in favor of quickly-gained but extensive injuries (she was tossed off a building? A building fell on her while she was saving someone?) so she really does need a long recovery period, complete with Dr. Thompkins taking her out of the country.
Honestly not sure if they should still fake her death. If yes, I think it should be Bruce’s idea.
This keeps Steph out of the way so we don’t need to rearrange the in-between canon too much, and potentially adds more fuel to the Keeping Secrets vs Not Keeping Secrets arguments.
The start of our big change for Stephanie’s arc is Violent Tendencies. Instead of agreeing to Bruce’s messed up plan, Stephanie is raring to atone for the lives destroyed back in War Games, and what do you know, some motherfucker just started another city wide gang war!
Spoiler works with Robin to stop Ulysses Armstrong. They never worked their shit out before she first left town, so it’s tense, and they fight, but they prioritize stopping the bad guys and bringing what peace is possible in Gotham.
Have repeated moments where Stephanie’s temper and instinct to argue almost messes things up, but she reins herself in to focus on butt-kicking and detective work. Have Tim notice this newer self-control, and have Steph notice changes in Tim, too.
At least one instance, preferably more, of Stephanie meeting someone who was hurt or lost a loved one in War Games, and wrestling with the fresh reminder of her guilt.
If we want to have a two-steps-forward, one-step-back situation, Tim gets caught in the blast of Armstrong’s bomb because after one of their fights, Stephanie stormed off in a temper, leaving Tim to deal with a two-person job on his own.
This sets up Stephanie second-guessing her decision to keep being a hero. If her own temper keeps getting in the way, should she really be doing this?
If we don’t want that, have it be that Tim takes the brunt of the blast because he threw Stephanie to safety or threw himself on top of her. Because that’s the kind of hero Tim is, because at this point in her arc Steph needs reassurance that her friend still cares about her despite her mistakes, and because it’s an example of heroism Stephanie needs to decide if she wants to copy or not.
Stephanie wants to be a hero.
Does she want to be the kind of hero who throws herself between another person and a bomb?
So either scenario, we set up for Stephanie to be doing some introspection when Bruce gets tossed into the timestream.
~
/points at the fried clone-corpse nearly everyone thinks is Bruce/ “Well he ain't gettin’ any deader!”
Tim calls up Cassandra during the whole Battle For The Cowl incident. She needs to wrap up an investigation, but comes back as soon as she can, which is when the dust has settled. Welcome back to Gotham, Batgirl!
(Cass is the Batgirl to both Tim & Steph’s Robin. She gets her own solo book back and has lots of interactions with Babs during this era.)
Not sure whose idea it is for Stephanie to be Robin again; Tim resigning himself to Dick not helping with BruceQuest? Dick acknowledging Batman needs a Robin and seeing Spoiler is struggling? Stephanie herself, volunteering for the second time?
Regardless, very early on, Arthur Brown gets out of jail or comes back to town and is being a Problem. Stephanie’s got a lot of anger, and Dick helps her deal with that. This is both an echo of Stephanie’s introduction, when she tried to kill her dad, and a way of bringing up Dick’s roots as Robin. He wanted to kill Tony Zucco, remember?
One former hot-headed Robin who’s learned how to find balance and prioritize justice over revenge helping the next generation do the same!
Meanwhile, Jason is also around being a Problem, providing straight up antagonism, but also a different opinion on how vigilantism in Gotham should work, so that Stephanie has multiple views to wrestle with.
Stephanie is a middle-class kid from the suburbs, who, as Jason put it to Tim when breaking into Titans Tower, “slept in a real bed”. But she’s also got a (recovering) drug-addict mother and a criminal father, providing points of commonality for Jason to work with. Remember his speech to Mia Dearden during the Green Arrow crossover?
Jason also plays on Stephanie’s guilt, talking about the fallout of the gang war she started, all of the ripple effects that kept going after the initial burst of violence was over. Describes some of his Under the Red Hood crime lord takeover work as “cleaning up your mess.”
Stephanie regrets everything about War Games, Dick is helping her do better going forward, whereas Jason’s argument is that she should have been more decisively violent at the start. It’s hard for all the mafia bosses to fight each other and get the little people caught up in it if the mafia bosses are dead.
During one altercation between Batman & Robin and the Red Hood, Jason punts Black Mask’s head to them and sarcastically says “You’re welcome.”
Arthur’s current criminal enterprise should directly affect Stephanie’s life in some negative way, so that all of this is fresh, not a It’s In The Past situation, and also be endangering civilians’ lives.
This arc has a big climatic scene of Dick being restrained while Jason gives Stephanie the chance to kill her dad.
(We know she’s not gonna, because she’s the Robin in Batman & Robin, but it should be as suspenseful as we can make it.)
~
Meanwhile over in BruceQuest, Tim & Damian are bonding over being raised with high expectations, and confusing relationships with one’s parents. Tim finally allowing himself to think & say negative things about Jack in order to help Damian grapple with his own upbringing? Heck yes.
Damian & Tim & the crushing weight of family legacies & parental expectations!
Tim being allowed by the narrative to be a big brother to Damian like Dick was to Tim!
Damian coming to see Tim as his brother despite his upbringing focusing on blood, and expressing remorse for the introductory murder attempt!
Ra’s trying to pit them against each other and getting his ass kicked!
Tim standing up to Bruce about his toxic habits once they rescue him because Tim refuses to let Damian go through the same crap he did!
~
Since dads are a big thing for both of the above arcs, we could go for three and bring back David Cain for Cass to deal with. Or keep him away, but bring him up in Cass & Steph’s shared scenes. They bonded over having terrible dads in Batgirl 2000, we can have callbacks.
Tim was sending progress reports back to Gotham during BruceQuest (because whether he left on good or bad terms, he wants the Bats to know what’s going on in case something happens to him and the ten year old he’s in charge of needs a rescue).
Once a week Cass makes popcorn and Babs reads the reports aloud. They make bingo cards for What Crazy Shit The Boys Got Up To This Week. When Tim gets home he makes bingo cards about Batgirl & Oracle’s shenanigans (while stealing some of theirs for his scrapbook). Stephanie demands Batman & Robin bingo cards too, and we discover Babs actually made some years ago when Dick was still Robin.
~
There are a lot of different ways who has what mantle could shake out once these arcs are over (in the very short time before the universe reset) but instead of getting into that I’m just going to imagine everyone reunited & hugging.

Greetings, fair reader. I am the foremost reporter of Gotham society’s deepest and darkest secrets, the enigma that provides the ton with all the scandal they need to continue their gossipy lives. Let me tell you about two subjects of mine that I am finding most difficult to uncover a smear on their names. Miss Stephanie Brown is being sponsored by Duchess Grayson for a season in Gotham's finest society. She's looking for a man who is decent and decently wealthy (she has parents to take care of, after all; she's not choosing to trade love for money just because she's poor). The Duke of Altheban is new to town and most certainly isn't looking for a bride, but something is drawing him to one young lady against his will. Everyone has dark truths, and none more so than those who live in the glitz of high society. I will reveal their most hidden mysteries by the end of the season, or my name is not, Lady Gotham

Detective Comics #1077 brought the Cass back. So how'd she do in this outing? Well, here are my thoughts on the issue...
So the Cass section is pretty early in the issue itself within the second scene and is pretty fascinating with several layers. #1 in that Selina recruited Cass off-panel.
I mean it probably wasn't hard. "Hey Cass you wanna save Batman?" "Yeah."
Bam.
Easy peasy.
I'm just gonna overlook the nonsense that is "Gotham War", and not overthink or mock that any further to this. It's just simple characterizations of two characters with a similar need: Bruce getting freed.
However, this leads me to my #2 interesting thing that occurs on the page. Eiko Hasigawa has beef with Cass.
Like, there's an out-of-issue story we missed here. Cause Cass/Eiko never met physically until this issue at least to my knowledge.
Tumblr media
What I am aware of is the growing disdain another Batgirl, Stephanie Brown, had for Eiko toward the end of Genevieve Valentine's Catwoman run (#35-46).
I am not aware if Steph hyped negatively Eiko to Cass. I think it's the safest bet.
However, my gut tells me an "unseen" story. Because, A.) Eiko knows Cass. B.) We know already Cass has met Selina off-panel and gotten an "art" love because of it. So it's reasonable to think Cass has met several of those who worked/allied with Selina closely.
Regardless of my theories, the moment is a nice hype package to remind us how deadly Cass is and interestingly how much she is acting like her biological mom here in manner and appearance.
I get why Cass is in gameface mode. Gotham is in hell given it's Tuesday and she has to showcase this side of her. Even when there's a Lian Harper nearby to "lighten" the mood.
Tumblr media
I do find it intriguing how much Cass inherits stuff on her actual mom's side here. From clothing choices to looks. She literally is a Little Wu-San here. I am curious why writer Ram V gives her hostilities with Eiko when a Cheshire is in the same room.
Given Shiva/Cheshire's histories in Gail Simone's Birds of Prey legendary run. But I can see why because again the feud is making me ponder more so on the "what" than the easily simplistic "why" we've seen already.
I really do dig seeing Cass unmasked in this issue as it elevates her into the run and artist Jason Shawn Alexander draws a VERY mature-looking Cass here.
And that leaves us with the final "chilling" twist of who Cass will be teaming up with here. Someone, now I wonder if we'll get our SECOND mention or showing of Batgirl Vol. 1 as Cass will be teaming with Mr. Freeze for her part in this mission.
Tumblr media
Also, I do love the little bit of fathering Jim Gordon does here during this scene. He knows what Freeze is capable of (both currently in this run and of the past).
Cass? We don't see her reaction, just one panel of her agreeing which is just so Cass.
Her mindset is completely different than Gordon's. Will she trust Freeze? I guess we'll see where Ram V goes with this. Again, I find this all fascinating the bits he's put here.
You can easily see this plan all going to hell, yet also there's a "chance" this plan might work. I guess it'll all depend on who betrays who.
Again, the bits sprinkled are just stories I want to read more of, along with how the current story is going to progress.
It's all quite engaging and has me on the edge of my seat.
Anyway, #1077 of Detective Comics is yet another refreshing thrilling piece to the puzzle of this run. It feels so darn unpredictable about where it will go.
Not to mention however briefly we've seen Cass sure carries a presence about her in this run. That fills me with glee on where this will go next.
So those who haven't checked on this Tec run yet please do so as what began back in September has been an excellent jumping-back point for this run.

Reverse unpopular opinion on Stephanie?
I presume we're talking Stephanie Brown cause my mom generally doesn't have that many haters lmao
Anyway yeah I adore Stephanie. It actually frustrates me to no end to see how badly she's treated by the fandom - not that it's a phenomenon unique to her in any way, but my God, have y'all tried writing her as a person? It's like she's either flattened to waffle girl or she's not there at all. Steph has had a really hard life and has shown dedication to the cause and more than anything, hope. I love what I've seen of her Batgirl run - the fact that she came back from the dead and was actually better for it rather than worse off. Like she's just... A good person who won't take no shit from anybody, especially not little gremlins like Damian, who really needed that during her Batgirl run. I love their dynamic pre-52 and I wish we could see something like it in more recent comics. Also, I think canon should make Steph and Jason best friends and I mean this unironically. Like, okay, I love me some Tim&Steph post-breakup friendship moments and whatever's going on with Cass&Steph's friendship is the gayest thing ever, but she deserves someone who both understands her and has zero romantic tension with her - in canon, cause actually they have nice potential as a ship for the same reason they'd make such good friends in canon. Like they have so much in canon. I know every batkid has been the black sheep of the family at some point, but Steph was treated like crap because she reminded Bruce of Jason; they're from the same part of town, grew up with douchebags as parents, and I think probably share a lot of the same worldview. I'd read a team up comic for them for sure.
I just think Steph had immense growth in pre-52 and was this really cool character and then like everyone else n52 fucked that up and I've heard nothing but bad things about batgirls until the newest issue which apparently is extremely gay but that doesn't make up for the character assassination. At least Robins: Being Robin and Batman v Robin finally acknowledged that she was Robin, that retcon was one of the worst things DC has done to the batfam and that's saying something
Also, and this isn't an unpopular opinion in any way shape or form, but I read Those Panels from batgirls #14. She is straight up in love with Cass it's unreal

pitch your perfect stephanie brown comic run, one where you have total creative control?
*slams hands down on desk*
OKAY
assuming that I'm allowed to write this in my own little universe, don't have to deal with continuity stuff that I don't like. Just like, an out of universe maxi series where i can use any characters I want, don't need permission or to work around what other people are doing.
So one of the things that has been grating on me lately with how DC is writing Steph is that they just make her a permanent package deal? Either with Tim or now with Cass, and I think it does a disservice to both characters. So while Cass would be a big player in this, I'd probably have her as a reoccurring major character while she's up doing her own thing rather than as a deuteragonist.
Okay but.
So like, the real way that I'd want to have this would be as a Steph graduation road tour type thing. Steph has just graduated college, and she's going to go on a cross country road trip through the fictional cities of DC USA, while she tries to decide what she's going to do next with her life, since she's outgrowing Batgirl at 23-24 ish.
... fuck it let's do the full 12 issue outline.
Batgirl: On The Road!
Central/Keystone: Bart team up! We open with Steph on the road, calling home, chatting with Cass. She's got the Compact, the back is full of fast food wrapers, and Steph goes to the Flash Museum and wonders about her legacy.
Metropolis: Kara team up! Steph and Kara hang out, Steph talks with Kara about the Nightwing identity which she has been offered, talks about moving on from the "-girl" part of the identity. Kara shares her own thoughts.
Gateway City: Wonder Woman team up! Steph hangs out with Diana, gets to do a walking tour of the city with Diana, talks about mythology and legacy, gets to do goofy young twenties stuff while drunk in a gay club because Gateway if DC's San Fransisco.
Coast City: Steph teams up with Jo Mullein because I say so. They solve a murder together, say fuck cops together, and Jo gets to be awesome and inspirational.
Star City: Connor reunion! Steph and Connor get to hang out, team up, fight bad guys, and generally have a fun adventure together.
Blue Valley: Steph teams up with Stargirl! Don't really have concrete ideas for this one. But I think Steph gets to punch an alien.
Fawcett City: Steph and the Marvels! Steph feels totally outclassed by the literal gods of it all but then she gets to hang out with them as kids and she does some combat training for them in civilian versions bc she's worried about how often they get depowered.
Hub City: Steph gets to team up with Renee, and what do you know, Kate's visiting! The lesbians take Steph to a gay bar, talk to her about sexuality and growing up.
Dakota City: Steph and Rocket team up! Steph gets to hang out with Amistad, and she and Raquel get to talk about being the teenaged moms of the comics universe.
Amnesty Bay: Steph gets to hang out with Jackson and Lorena and Salty the Sea Dog. She then gets to punch Orm.
Ivy Town: The weird issue. Steph hangs out with Ryan Choi, gets shrunk, and has an adventure in a miniature civilization.
Gotham City: Steph returns home, reunites with Cass and her Mom and Nell. She then hands off Batgirl to Nell in a scene and reveals that she's going to be the new Nightwing. Then she and Cass team up and punch bad guys.
Things that are happening in the background during all of this/themes
Cass is Batman, this is not commented upon, she is fighting some sort of massive thing, we never find out exactly what. Cass appears via phone call about once an issue.
Nell is the next most common phone call appearance, she's Spoiler right now, and she's reporting in on her training and things to Steph, and doesn't seem aware that Steph is about to pass off Batgirl to her.
Steph calls Dick a few times, he's also Batman, he's with the Justice League, he's sometimes in space.
Steph grappling with her bisexuality realization is a big part of this because I say so. Fun lighting for the gay club scenes.
Duke and Damian appear in one phone call, both of them are Robin.
Each issue opens with a map of the United States showing where the city is and then a little blurb about the city and local superheroes, with Steph narrating about what she knows about them, mentioning cool things they've done, etc.
Generally, it'd let Steph get to interact with things she doesn't get to interact with a lot, expand her relationships, bounce off new things, while still being a rather introspective piece with Steph thinking about her life, her place, and her legacy.
Steph does most of the comic as Batgirl, but she puts on a Batwoman costume and a Nightwing costume at various times.

I am Batman Part 6
Bryce decides the best way to deal with the new reveal of her status is to find Lucius Fox, who is like in that one movie working a shit-end job, and go: HERE IS YOUR NEW CEO WHO WAS SHOVED HERE SINCE HE DIDN'T AGREE WITH ANYTHING! And then BOOK it.
She ain't being CEO, fuck that noise.
Lucius does good work though, letting Bryce focus on her kids, and herself and mourning the boy she thought could have been part of their family.
At this time, Jason is sixteen. Dick is 20, Barbara is 21. Bryce is 33. Tim WOULD have been 13. Alfred is Alfred.
However, around this time Bryce can’t go out as Batman due to the increased focus on her. Nor is Jason able to go out due to his injuries.
Bryce ends up telling someone who she is. And who is that?
J’onn.
No, really he’s the one she tells because she needs HIS help given he can look like Batman and is more willing to do creepy shit compared to someone like Superman.
J’onn is impressed she hid it so long and is more than willing to play as Bryce deals with paparazzi stalking the farm. She ends up calling the cops a lot on the ones who enter her property so they do end up stopping there.
Bryce does give an interview cause why not. And when they show up to the farm, they're expecting like... the socialite form of a farmer. Delicate. Gentle. Wearing some sort of cottage core dress and looking so small.
They get 6'2" Bryce whose built like a linebacker. She's broad, buff and meets the reporter carrying a baby calf. Dressed in a ratty t-shirt, a pair of gross blue jeans and looking done.
They also get Dixon White who moved back to Gotham after Jason's accident who is flirty, hot and very much the beautiful farmer's daughter.
They also get Jason who is the city boy but also has a lot of burns and scars from the explosion they're passing off as him being in one of Joker's random ass attacks.
Side note, Jason is on crutches right now and HATES being benched so he's not happy with the reporter.
They also have Alfred who is keeping house and being a grandfather.
Oh and Gotham, posing as the weirdo friend who twice attempts to teach the photographer how to hotwire a car.
Yeah, it's a wild interview. Dick finds it hilarious he's the beautiful farmer's daughter. Jason photoshops his face onto those Robots from Futurama.
Bryce and J'onn become best friends by the time this is all over and the reporters realize they can't change Bryce White into the debutant beauty they thought she would be. So she gets to go out and terrify people again.
With J'onn as a best friend, Bryce ends up being around the Young Justice group as it forms and honestly it hurts her so much cause shit, Tim could have been on that team.
Bryce helps out the team, being the terrifying Batman but a good teacher to them.
Meanwhile, in Gotham Barbara Gordon becomes Oracle. An all-seeing eye that was the victim of cyber crimes, a hissing voice.
It's Oracle who catches a purple-suited girl running around. A solution to an issue Bryce and Jason had. He couldn't go out. Not yet. So they needed someone to take his place.
Hello Spoiler.
Stephanie Brown is ushered into the family after Bryce stalks her for a bit... and then drops down to beat the shit out of her 17-year-old boyfriend.
"What was that for?"
"You started dating last year. You're only 14. That's creepy. And he turns 18 next month. That's worse."
Stephanie is a good Street Rat but Jason finds himself angry. He understood the idea behind it. But he hates it still.
Jason finds himself avoiding the girl, easy since her mom is still around. But in his avoiding her, he finds himself in the shop more and more.
I'm really torn with Jason because I view Jason as honestly struggling with this. He may have agreed to have her step in, but it isn't what he wants. More so since a kid died.
I also think Jason ends up moving into the apartment above the store when he's 17. It hurts Bryce but she accepts it as he gets back on his feet and begins to figure himself out.
Bryce is helping with Young Justice when they find a cloning lab. She helps them break in and they find Conner. Which leads to issues with Superman.
Bryce gets why Superman isn't okay just yet. But she also fully believes Connor needs a solid ground. So she proposes taking Connor herself, and 'letting him stay with a family I am close to'.
Which how does the Bat know these people? But whatever, fuck it in the end.
Side note, Bryce threatens Kara and Clark when she hears about Kon meaning abomination. Like outright, Batman has Kryptonite out and she will skin them if they try shit.
Clark is at least ashamed, Kara takes longer but she gets there.
Clark needing time to adjust to Connor is fine in my eyes, and Connor getting a home solves the issue of 'a kid having no ties to anyone'.
But anyway so Bryce White welcomes a new child into her home, Connor who'd been raised in total isolation as a social experiment. It makes the news and Bryce finds herself at a charity Gala wearing a to fancy dress Alfred gushed over. Bryce who is more at hom ein her torn plaid shirt and stained sweatpants.
Jason might not be around the family much right now but he demands pictures.
Bryce drags Dick with her solely cause screw it, let her beautiful farmer's daughter in on this. It is funny.
Bryce nearly punches six people and 'accidentally' spills wine on a guy. Dick gets way to much blackmail.
Bryce vows never to go to another.
She ends up going to the next one.
Of course while this is all happening, the League of Assassins notice a change in Rat. And wonder why. When a John Doe matching Timothy Drake's description is found in a hospital, they think they know why.
The boy is taken, and sadly it seems the brain damage and unknown way he was brought back has damaged his old skills
No worry, they'll fix that.

Jason Todd got screwed over by his writers because they gave him incredibly poor characterization that nowhere near did his character justice and plots and relathionships that didn't work for him.Stephanie Brown got screwed over by her writers because they made a bunch of other characters treat her like shit for no reason with almost none of them getting consequences. Please learn the difference and stop acting like Jason's been anything but coddled in-universe despite being an incredibly cruel person and like Stephanie's not the one who was used as the DC universe purple punching bag even though she does nothing but spread fun and kindness

My evidence for Stephanie Brown hate coming purely from misogyny is that she has the exact same personality and backstory as Percy Jackson and Hiccup Haddock but Perce and Hic are almost universinally beloved in their fandoms while Steph gets called toxic,abusive,anti-feminist,annoying,a pick me,boring and literally every other negative adjective in the book

He was unraveling. He knew it. He was unraveling, and he knew it—and he didn’t care.
When his mom had died—his dad barely hanging on to life, too—he’d thrown himself into the arms of a living shadow, and he’d decided without caveat or reservation that he was going to follow that shadow to the only place that shadows could ever come from, could ever go. He’d accepted that descent into hell with open arms and a red, angry eye, staring unfocused into nothing.
It was uncanny how, after he’d made that decision, the rest of the people in his life had begun to drop like flies.
People he hardly knew—Michael Lasky, who just wanted to do good. Johnny Warren, who he thought he’d murdered. Dozens upon dozens of unsaved civilians. Classmates at Grieve—a frighteningly appropriate name for a high school for Tim Drake, omen of death, to attend. He’d like to say that he was being too dramatic with a thought like that, but if three made a pattern, then he’d already far surpassed that, well on his way to fact.
Because then there was Darla Aquista. And then Stephanie Brown. People he knew well.
His own dad.
And then—
The day Superboy’s memorial was held, Tim spent an hour in a restroom in the Hall of Justice, hurling until there was only acid left—and even that emptied out of him, scorching his throat in the process.
Not that his voice wouldn’t have been hoarse without it. He’d hardly slept after— …after That Day. He’d hardly eaten. He’d hardly cried, even, because he’d dehydrated himself as soon as the numbness of shock wore off on the first bitter, horrible night after the crisis, and he certainly hadn’t been hydrating enough since then. He didn’t even like to speak to people those days, because they mostly gave him pitying looks, and he couldn’t stand those.
It felt like he was doomed to them, though—because they drove him crazy when Kon died—and then when Bart died—
And they drove him crazy when Bruce “died,” too.
Even though he wasn’t dead. Tim knew he wasn’t. And he’d prove it, even if he had to do it alone. Even if he barely had anyone left to do it with, because they were—
Focus, Drake.
What he hadn’t expected, in this new mission of his, was for his attempts to find proof of Bruce’s life to lead him into a fight with a magic-user. A magic-user who was new on the scene in Germany—and god, he was really regretting not brushing up on his Deutsch because he wasn’t sure he even fully understood what was going on with the novice mage—considering that they were speaking backwards German, and he was rusty in normal German.
<<Hey—okay, listen, I know you’re scared—>> He held out his hands placatingly, struggling to remember inflection and vocabulary.
They didn’t let him finish his broken sentence.
Instead, they flung their hands back at him, thinking him to be attacking—
And then Tim was in what he thought to be a headquarters of some kind. It was one that he’d never seen before in his life, though, which was… more than a bit unsettling. Because he knew what every hero team’s headquarters looked like, and this… wasn’t one of them.
Admittedly, it did look like them. It resembled something the Titans—or maybe the JL—might have used. He really hoped that it hadn’t been taken over by villains. He didn’t have time for an outnumbered fight.
The universe didn’t seem to agree with him, of course—it rarely did. Because right as he thought maybe he could sneak out undetected, an automated voice announced his presence, and he was forced to bite back a sigh, as he readied himself for a sudden attack.
