I only started writing a few months ago, so I was very nervous, but I'm actually so proud of how my contribution turned out! And my recipient was really happy with their gift, which brings me infinite joy.

my other thought for today is that i know there's this predisposed fixation on all the bats being Freaks™ but in my mind there are only three that are certifiably freaky on the inhuman scale

cass is the obvious, borderline inhuman combatant freak. the body is a language that she and only one other person truly speaks. she can win against any human on earth, and sees herself in every killer. she makes me crazy. imagine being the world's greatest killing machine and literally taking a life for the first time and reading that pain in the body. that's crazy. 10/10

babs is the actual mega-genius freak in gotham. there's no competition. she's out-hacked brainiac. her online persona has an almost physical presence. she got a law degree in her spare time. her ability to process information is almost unparralled, even among superhumans, and her vast swath of allies just makes her more dangerous. toxic girlboss freak behaviours

dick grayson is a trigonometry and spacial awareness freak. this is probably the more controversial take but i do think that based on his feats and abilities his ability to calculate how to land and where to fall isn't comparable to anyone else. he was an acrobatic prodigy by the time he was four. he jumps off buildings and out of planes with no gear for a good time. he can fold himself up like a pretzel and crawl into the batcave through a hole in the ground. freak!

Bruce, Dick, and Babs would be able to recognize Tony Hawk without the skateboard because they are old.

Jason would not. He is too young and didn't gaf about skating. He was a NERD. Loser.

Tim would, because he is a sk8r boi. He has a Tony Hawk poster.

Damian doesn't know who Tony Hawk is and when he makes that fact known it harms everyone in a 5 mile radius.

Cass would be able to recognize him because she's Cass.

Steph would because Tim wouldn't shut up about him.

Duke is in the same boat as Jason. He is less of nerd loser, still a nerd, but he's cool. Couldn't GAF about Tony Hawk tho he's too busy jumping off bridges.

whenever hawke arrives at skyhold and learns that cassandra interrogated varric, i imagine their conversations going only like they would go with a cop and a lawyer.

cassandra says literally anything, and hawke leans to varric and goes, ”what did you tell her about X?” “i told you went into the Evil Cave and killed a bunch of folks there”, and then hawke would go “i went into the Evil Cave and killed a bunch of folks there,” without blinking, back to cassandra. every time she can hear the whole conversation. varric is just hawke's lawyer. they check their legend constantly. cassandra may ask what is in hawke's grocery list, and hawke would just instantly turn his gaze to varric. hawke literally won't agree to speak to any authority in skyhold without him.

I love when DC heroes just share codenames because it shows that the weird intensity about who can be Batman or Robin is just a them problem. Like there's 2 batgirls (technically 3 but I refuse to not call Babs Oracle). There are 2 Questions. Connor Hawke and Oliver Queen just agreed they could both be Green Arrow. There's multiple wonder girls right now. Jon and Clark and are superman at the moment, and Kenan is Super-man.

It's just really funny seeing all the intense beef between the guys in the bat family when it is 100% just a them problem.
