I’m not sorry for all the haters who think Kalim is literally a brainless fool. He’s fucking 16-17, he’s not good at some things but he’s not an idiot either. How bad must you be to just put “dumb” as someone’s whole person instead of their personality?

Anyways, I headcanon Kalim would be an absolute god at numbers and math? Like, his family basically are high class merchants right? I think his father presses the issue of math over a lot of things so he’s probably really really fast at it!

Kalim is ecstatic about this idea. The first time you suggest this to him, he's so happy; smiling brightly at you and spinning you around in a hug.

He instantly wants to tell Jamil all about it. The latter is a little concerned about Kalim's ability to take care of a small animal; remembering all the times Kalim struggled to take care of himself without Jamil needing to step in.

"Oh we could adopt a camel! Or an elephant!", Kalim is already looking up suitable pet names on the internet. You take his hand in yours and squeeze it. "Kalim, my dear, I was thinking more of....you know...something the average person can actually take care of", you explain carefully and sigh.

The two of you eventually decide on getting a puppy. Very fitting for Kalim, whom you have once referred to as "the human version of a golden retriever".

You know that scene in the beginning of "Bolt" where Penny picks up puppy Bolt for the first time? That's Kalim, walking into the pet shop and staring at the puppies with such a bright, happy gleam in his eyes. You can't help but want to capture this moment, so you take a photo of him; Kalim gladly indulging you. He smiles into the camera whilst holding one of the small dogs up, petting it gently.

"So...got your eyes on one yet?", you ask, pressing a kiss to Kalim's cheek.

Kalim is gonna take home the puppy that's most active out of the ones in the bunch, much to Jamil's disapproval. But Kalim can hardly say no to his newfound little friend, the way the puppy immediately brings him one of the toys running around and expects Kalim to play with it.

Kalim loves that dog so much the second he takes it home. He loves cuddling it and playing with it. Sadly, though to no one's surprise, Kalim has absolutely 0 grasp on the dog and it will not perceive him as an authority figure whatsoever. If you want it to be potty trained, to stop jumping up and down at people due to excitement and not steal the other dorm member's shoes and chew on them? Congrats, that's your job now!

Kalim and you often take walks with your puppy.

It sleeps in Kalim's room so when you're staying over, holding Kalim in your arms and trying to sleep in on the weekends; expect a small dog to join you in your attempts to cuddle or try to catch your attention.

Kalim picked the most stubborn, active dog they had and now you're going to have to try and get it to listen to you. Crowley already complained 5 times.

Epel would love the idea of adopting a pet with you. He has a soft spot for animals. He's just worried about his dorm leader and knows that Vil would hardly be keen on the idea of having a pet at Pomefiore dorm. So if possible, the pet will stay with you most of the time.

Epel holds your hand all the way to the pet shop. "Okay, so, I'll need something that won't make a lot of noise, won't carry Vil's belongings anywhere, won't 'mess up my makeup' apparently and something that preferably doesn't walk around the dorm", Epel sighs and looks around the store.

His choice is made when he looks at the bunnies they have for sale. Epel used to have bunnies as a kid and he still likes them and finds them cute.

You chuckle after looking around the store alone for a while, finding your boyfriend near the bunny cage, holding a small, white rabbit that seems to have fallen asleep on his arm. "This one", he says excitedly.

Epel would refuse to name his bunny something "cutesy". You'll have to deal with name suggestions such as "Skullcrusher" and "Thundering Fury".

He's so happy to share this experience with you.

When he brings the bunny back to the dorm for the first time, Rook makes an off-handed comment about 'hunting', causing Epel to clutch the small creature and shield it from Rook. "Leave skullcrusher alone, I'm warning you", Epel tells him and Vil raises an eyebrow. "You named it skullcrusher?", his disappointment is obvious with his tone and he turns to you, "and you didn't stop him?" You shrug and smile. "He seemed very happy."

Epel takes good care of the rabbit and he loves sitting on the couch, snuggled up to you, holding the little bunny in his arms.

He wants to make its enclosure as nice as possible for it, buying little toys and tunnels to keep it entertained.

Panics if it ever escapes and runs around the dorm. Partly because he's scared he won't find it again or that it might get hurt, partly because Vil is NOT going to like that.

"Calm down", you put a hand on his shoulder, "we try all possible options first before we panic." You grab your things and start looking with him.

He's very relieved when your shared pet is back in your care. Vil actually found it and handed it to Epel. "Next time, keep a better eye on it", the Pomefiore dorm leader sighs; not seeming nearly as mad as Epel had insisted he'd be.

Epel takes you home over the holidays and brings your bunny with him, showing it to his parents and his grandmother. They reminisce about the time Epel used to have bunnies as a kid and show you the pictures of Epel as a young boy. "Y/n, we're so happy Epel brought you over for the holidays- oh, look, and here's him trying to eat the sand cake he made in the sandbox!", his mother exclaimed, resulting in Epel gesturing frantically. "Don't show them that!"

Your bunny just observes you quietly.

For Idia it's instantly clear that you're getting a cat. He's so excited about the idea, given how much he loves cats.

Also one who starts thinking of names before you even go to the store to get a cat, but simultaneously he's worried that he's going to settle on a name but then it won't fit. "It needs to be clever and accurate", he insists, explaining to you the list of names of his favorite game characters, "for example, this character, in the game, has a forehead mark on his face. So if the cat has a spot with white fur on its forehead, this name would make sense." "You're putting way too much thought into this...", you mumble and run a hand through his hair.

One of the few instances where you don't have to convince him to show up only with his tablet instead of in person. "We're making a major decision here. I cannot make judgement half-heartedly", Idia holds your hand and stays close to you as you walk through the village on the island towards the pet store. "But for the dorm leader meetings where major decisions about the school are being made the tablet suffices?", you chuckle and raise an eyebrow. "The normies are capable of handling these. The task of naming our cat is one that demands precision, wits and top tier gamer spirit."

Idia is ecstatic about the cats. Not so much about the store clerk who keeps trying to give him advice. "I- I'm sure we can pick on our own", he tries to shake him off as he shows Idia and you the cats with a friendly smile, "y/n say something please." The last part he whispers and you let out a sigh. "We'll call out to you once we've picked one. My boyfriend is a bit shy", you explain and Idia looks at you with wide eyes. "Don't say that", he whispers as the store clerk tends to other customers.

Idia picks a calm and quiet cat, perhaps a little on the chubbier side; one that seems sleepy and starts to purr and close it's eyes when Idia holds it in his arms. He also instantly finds a name from one of his games that fit the kitten. "See, that wasn't too hard, was it?", you press a kiss to his cheek. "You're right", he hands you the kitten so that you can hold it too for a while, "as soon as I saw it, I knew instantly."

Idia lets the cat sleep in his bed and you two often end up cuddling with it at night. He picked a very affectionate one.

When Trein reprimands him for not coming to class in person and catches him playing games instead of paying attention in the lesson, Idia insists he'll show up in person only if he can bring the cat for comfort. Because Trein has a cat himself, he lets him.

What Idia hasn't calculated in was the fact that small, cute kittens tend to attract a crowd of students asking to pet it. So he ends up surrounded by his classmates, stuttering about how his cat needs its peace and quiet. You have mercy on him and take the cat from his arms, dealing with the students in his stead.

The cat also starts a fight with Lucius, which Trein insists "could never be Lucius' fault". Idia doesn't know how to handle the conflict.

Needless to say, Idia was even more set on not coming to class in person after that. While you are sitting in class, you often receive text messages from your boyfriend, consisting of dozens of cat pictures and videos.

"Look at it, y/n! Isn't it cute?", he texts and you glance to the board to make sure Trein doesn't catch you texting in class. "Yes it is. I see it every day, Idia." "The magic of cats never fades."

For Malleus and you, the decision to adopt a pet was a spontaneous one. You two snuck out without the knowledge of his guards, something you insisted in front of Lilia was an activity you "definitely did not do frequently", and now you wandered the small settlement on the Isle of Sages.

Malleus was going on and on about an abandoned building you saw on the way here and you mused how cute he looked eating his ice cream with a small plastic spoon, his fangs flashing everytime he opened his mouth.

You looked around and passed by the pet store. From the window, you could see inside; observing a small iguana staring at you from the window display.

"Malleus....", you start, the fae prince turning around to check what you were looking at, seeing you point at the creature, "impulsive question, but what do you think about getting one of those?"

Malleus puts his finger at his chin and thinks about it for a while. At first he doesn't get what the point is, as a pet like this lives maybe 25 years if you're lucky and this seems very short for him. You remind him that he has had GaoGao Dragon-kun for even less and it still brought him a lot of joy he's glad to have and Malleus has to agree that you have a point.

"We could take care of it together", you say.

Oh boi

You don't know what you kicked loose.

Malleus perceives this as like, a very big bonding experience with his beloved that will bring you so much closer and prepare you for one day taking care of an entire kingdom together; something he definitely thinks about frequently and is more than ready for.

"Very well then! I would love this very much", he smiles and presses a kiss to your temple. So it's decided.

You come back to the dorm with a terrarium and a small iguana in your arms and the brightest smile on your face as you see Lilia. "We impulsively decided to raise a pet together", Malleus exclaims proudly. Lilia is just looking back and forth between you and Malleus and sighs. He doesn't even know how to break it to the queen yet that her grandson has fallen in love and here he is adopting a pet and probably planning his wedding in his head.

Malleus is super careful with your pet because he knows he's sometimes having trouble estimating his own strength. He holds it super careful and he's very pleased that it's not afraid of him.

He names it GaoGao Dragon-kun. You mostly call it Drakon but Malleus always addresses it by the full name. You go to the vet for the first time and she's like,,, trying to set up a file for your pet and she's like "what's its name?" and there's Prince Malleus Draconia who has to duck under the doorframe to enter the vet's office and made the entire waiting room silent with just his presence and he very seriously answers "GaoGao Dragon-kun" and the assistant of the vet just sighs and makes herself another large cup of coffee.

notes: trying to get used to writing shorter headcanons again because i want to post more often and like, my old shorter headcanons were fine. also just got my wisdom teeth removed (ouch) so expect headcanons about twst characters comforting you after wisdom teeth surgery.

you know what? ill say it.

hot take but Jamil should be the house warden and Kalim should be the vice warden. Jamil does all the work. Im pretty sure its mentioned hes spent late nights with the other students of scarabia helping them study and listening to their problems. he always is downplaying his skills, but if hes given the opportunity hed be an excellent leader.

Kalim iirc got the job because of nepotism. Dont get me wrong, i love him /p. But I think he's much more of a supporting role when you actually look at things, AND HED BE GOOD AT IT!! Jamil gets shit done and Kalim lightens the mood. Jamil is the structure and Kalim makes sure people arent too structured

i doubt it would happen in-game, but i hope at some point Jamil would challenge Kalim, or even theyd just mutually agree that it would be best for the dorm, and he'd get the actual credit. I know why that isnt the case of course, but its fun to think about

A far from oblivious little dude

What if Kalim chooses to be oblivious of the people around him because he has no one he can trust and would like to at least feel like be does.

He set up a whole fantasy and externalized it, wanting to see the good in others first, and because of this, he couldn't catch onto obvious things, and it hurt when he was betrayed.

Kalim feels very alone, and pushes those thoughts down so he can do life without just falling over. I find it maddening.

He didn't spend his days asking "why?"

He simply said, "I see it this way and that's how it'll be."

He's buried all possible negative feelings and overlapped them with joy.

He doesn't wanna be mean, he treats others how he'd prefer to be treated, and he pleases others, likely in hopes that he'll find someone he can trust and be open to, truly without being betrayed.

Hell, in book five, he sort of showed that the obliviousness was optional.

In the new event, he showed that he would be willing to destroy things in order to protect something precious. He tore down a whole damn park.

All this shows he's aware and really doesn't wanna do anything to hurt anyone or break anything. He's gonna grow up, become Sultan and realize he'll have to, and I worry that would be the thing to break him, but he'd do his best to keep his wits about him and remain a happy go lucky dude for the good of those around him. Even if it is at the expense of his own sanity.

I'm probably gonna write a fic of him snapping and what my interpretation of it would be.

Hi! I wanted to request HCs about what if the dorm leaders + Ruggie and Jade. The characters overhear G/N (or mc) singing to themself. Surprisingly G/N got a very sweet singing voice. That kind of voice thats perfect for lullabies. Its just soothing to listen too. So my question how would these dorm leaders + Ruggie and Jade characters react to a G/N (or MC) singing to themself? What would they do before and afterwards? Bonus if they got a crush on g/n (or mc).

♡ riddle rosehearts ♡ ♡ riddle was looking for y/n, he wanted to ask them if they had seen ace or deuce anywhere since the three of them are usually hanging around with each other. ♡ he was walking through the hallways until he heard y/n voice, riddle walked closer the classroom and heard that y/n was singing to themself. ♡ riddle was really surprised by their singing, not only was their singing really good but it was so calm and sweet, it was the perfect singing voice for lullabies. ♡ he already had a crush on y/n but now it grew even more, riddle kept listening to them singing as he started to blush slightly, then he heard y/n stop singing and they walked out of the classroom. ♡ y/n noticed riddle in the hallways and asked him what he's was doing there, riddle answered that he wanted to ask them about something while avoiding eye contact, he decided not to mention the singing since he was suddenly feeling embarrassed.

Riddle

Least to say, it was a nice change of pace from the rest of the first years. Not to say he dislikes them, but they can be a bit much sometimes.

He watches you help them out of trouble all the time. He honestly thinks you’re too nice to be friends with them at times.

You also stand up to him when he gets too carried away with his signature spell.

“Off with your head!”

He often gets flustered from you being as gentle and sweet as you are. And the thing is, you don’t even mean to. That’s just how you are. You’re the balance that the 1st year Heartsbyul students need.

He’d definitely have a soft spot for you, and he’d allow you to get away with any slight rules you might break.

I mean, he lets Ace and Deuce get away with a lot, you can’t be much worse.

He tries hard not to get distracted from his duties as house warden, but it’s hard considering the fact that he literally sees you as perfect. You’re the kind of person he wished he could be, he sees the Queen of Hearts in you…

Don’t take it as a bad thing, they see her as a hero lol. But long story short, Riddle would always become flustered seeing you be the person you are, how could he not? And honestly, when he realizes that he's fallen for you, it his him HARD.

Leona

He sees you as a dumb little oblivious herbivore. But you’re cute and you’re his. He thinks that you’re too nice at times, but he’s impressed by you standing up again students twice your size.

You keep Savanaclaw in line, 1, because they find you too nice to me mean to, and 2, they’re terrified of what Leona will do to them if they so as much hurt a singular hair in your head.

He’s always especially soft with you, afraid to harm you in anyway.

Leona’s tough demeanor would instantly fade when it’s just the two of you, and sometimes it might crack a bit in front of the others. He doesn’t exactly mind as he doesn’t care, but he still needs to remind Savanaclaw who their house warden is.

You might catch him dazing off while staring at you, just your image puts him in a calmer mood, that’s one of the main reasons Ruggie constantly asks for your help in waking your dearest Leona.

He'll start to show some forms of PDA. He doesn't get embarrassed about it or anything. Why would he be? And it starts to become the norm to see the two of you cuddled together beneath a tree in the Botanical Gardens.

And to be honest, at first, he absolutely he detested the idea of falling for you. I mean, you’re complete opposites, i mean, think about it. But, after a while, even he couldn’t deny the fact that his heart felt heavy whenever he saw you.

Azul

High key blushing all the time. He tries so hard to hide it too, but it never works.

Azul grew up being bullied from most of his childhood, so when he sees you, a perfect being, at least in his eyes, he can't help but be in awe. As well as a bit disappointing in himself.

Azul’s always been insecure, wanting to be better, or rather the best. But here you are, doing it effortlessly. People just naturally seem to be draw to you, they love to just be near you, let alone talk to you. 

He can't help but become self conscious when he sees you interacting with people he sees as far superior than himself, it makes him question everything. But you being you, manage to pull him out of that mindset, and shower him with all the affection you possibly can, to remind him that you think he's absolutely amazing.

Once again, high key blushing.

He never really pin points the fact that he has a huge crush on you, so it takes some leading from Jade and Floyd until he reaches that outcome.

He loves to have you just hanging around the Monstro Lounge, and it seems so do the customers. I have a feeling that Azul had tried numerous times to try to get you to create a contract with you, just so he’d see you more often.

Floyd and Jade call him out on it. 

Kalim

He's just in pure awe. And he tells you this too. He's constantly complimenting you and staring at you with stars in his eyes.

He's also seen as considerate and kind, in most cases, so its literally the Scarabia's dream come true when the two of you start to become close friends. Not gonna lie, you do keep Jamil's anxiety a bit lower than normal. Sorry Kalim lol

But Kalim sorta knows that he likes you, but he doesn't make it that big of a deal. Its like a childhood puppy love crush. And its adorable to witness. He loves to hang out with you, and he'll surprise you with many gifts. Even after you can't keep taking them, 1. because it all looks so expensive, and 2. You don't think you can fit anymore in Ramshackle.

Kalim just thinks you're trying to be humble.

Jamil has caught Kalim just staring at you in a trance like state with a small smile on his face quite a few times. He wont say anything about it though.

And Kalim finds it funny seeing how some of your closest friends are so chaotic, he enjoys the contrast and finds it funny.

Vil

You're one of the very few people he'll consider to be close to his fairnest. Some what atleast.

Vil’s never been the type to admit to liking someone, anyone. Especially not to himself. He’s lived in this segregated bubble from the rest of the world. As they watched his beauty, and he watched theirs.

So imagine when you, a new student with no magic shows up. And you’re loved by all. Honestly he’s kinda jealous.

But green isn’t a good color on him, so he tries his best to not let it get in the way. You seem nice enough and you couldn’t be a threat to him. Oh boy was he wrong.

Every time he’d see you his face would heat up. And he’d stutter. Not something usual for the great Vil Schoenheit.

He’s not an idiot, but it does take sometime to realize that he’s spilled and had fallen in love. He knows it’s not a bad thing, it’s just that love isn’t something he’s used to.

But he’ll allow himself to have this pleasure. And soon enough, you’ll have a fan club. In which Vil will literally fight Ace and Iida to become the president of.

Iida

Big big blushy boy. As soon as he sees you laughing and smiling with the Ramshackle Quartet, he’s literally broken.

He’s frozen and you notice this, and you go over to ask if he’s okay. His hair immediately turns a bright hot pink, and his face turns pale. And he runs off.

Malleus

He’s not one to recognize feelings. Like at all. But whenever he saw you late at night, his palm would get sweaty, his face would heat up and seem red, his heart rate would pick up, he honestly thought he was sick.

He asked Sebek to make sure, he was very confused doing so.

Malleus is always more quite around you than more so, but you didn’t know him well enough to find it off. So you just thought that he was a more shy guy.

Once he starts to come more so out of his shell he becomes extremely clingy. Everyone thinks you’re already dating, and it’s strange to explain it to them because Malleus never accepts or denys anything.

“Child of man, what do you mean we’re not togther?”

“Huh….?”

“We’re together, look. We’re standing right next to each other.”

“Oh. That’s what you think that means!”

Those kind of situations happen quite often. There’s a lot of misunderstandings…But it’s all in good fun. Malleus’ words, not mine lol.

You love to turn the papers that you hold into the shape of an animal. Malleus never really sees such a hobby as this, and so he always watches you work with curious eyes. Whenever you would begin doing your origami, Malleus would try to guess what animal you would do. There are times where he ends up being right, a proud smile on his face for guessing it correctly. And even if he ends up being wrong with his guess, he's always chuckling in amusement with how you managed to surprise him. 

He never really asked for you to give him your origami. Malleus is quite satisfied with just watching you enjoy your hobby. 

One night, there you two are, sitting on the small stairs of Ramshackle dorm. Sitting right next to each other, a paper sat on your fingers as you do your usual routine of making an origami, with Malleus watching you. Amidst of doing your origami, Malleus suddenly asked you a question. Are you fond of animals so much that you try to recreate them on a piece of paper? 

You turned your attention to him, blinking at his question. You watched as Malleus held his hand out, a small glow of light appearing and floating above his palm. A butterfly manifests itself on his palm, fluttering it's wings as it flies before you two. He told you that if that was your reason, he could just create a bunch of them with his magic so you could play with the real ones. 

You followed the butterfly with a shine in your eyes. It's amazing how Malleus could just do everything with his magic. You closed your eyes, smiling, giving your attention again to the unfinished origami in your hands. Making a butterfly origami with your hands, you handed the butterfly paper to him. Malleus looks at the origami, surprised.

With the smile never faltering from your lips, you replied to his question from earlier. You simply enjoyed making origami, especially turning a once simple paper into something more. Something special. He gently grabs the butterfly from your hands, holding it in his palm with a soft smile across his features.

"I see…" A soft smile appears across Malleus' features, gently holding the butterfly on his palms, a silent promise being made from him to treasure your butterfly forever. "What a beautiful butterfly you have made, Child of man."

Kalim is already amazed and excited whenever you would start making an origami out of a simple paper. He would lean himself closer to you so he could watch you do it. He always ended up laughing whenever you would tell him about him being too close. You're a bit embarrassed to have someone watch you do your hobby closely, but you appreciate Kalim for liking your origamis. You'd smile, as he awes at your work and gives you compliments. 

 One day, Kalim called out to you. He waved his hands to you, and presented to you an origami. He told how much he really likes your origami, and has been starting to practice them by remembering how you do it. His first origami was a flower, and it wasn't bad for a first try. He gives the flower origami to you and tells you to keep it so he can keep giving you different ones that would show his improvement. 

With a bright smile on his face, he promised to make the best of origami to give to you. He left you to practice some more, unaware that he made you feel butterflies in your stomach. 

Day after day, he will give you a different kind of origami that he made that day. You can always see the improvements on each origami that he gives to you. And you never might have told him, but he never fails to make you smile for an entire day, always looking at his origami. 

You wanted to express that happiness to him, and so you decided to return his affectionate gifts with an origami of your own. A beautiful butterfly origami. 

Approaching him first as you called out his name, he returned your greeting with a beaming smile. You told him that you have something to give to him, before presenting the butterfly origami in your hands. You smiled, encouraging him to take the butterfly off your hands. Your boyfriend looks a little confused, asking you as to what this is for. Your smile brightens up even more, answering that it's a gift for him. Because you really like his origamis and they make your entire day, so you decided to give him one of your own. 

You waited for his reaction because he was just staring down at the butterfly that is now on his hands. You blinked, when you saw small tears appearing in the corner of his eyes. You panicked, asking him if there's something wrong. He started crying pretty loud, hugging you tightly as he cried about how much he loves it. You returned his embrace, smiling softly while you rubbed his back, whispering that you're happy to know that.

I personally feel like the reason Kalim wears a cardigan is because NRC is too cold for him. He's used to the weather the Scalding Sands has and to keep himself warm he wears the cardigan! Jamil also wears a hoodie so I feel like he might be in a similar boat. Feel free to share your thoughts <3

but yes ! i do think kalim referring to his friends with his arabic nicknames is a way he shows his affection. something twst got right in terms of arab culture is the hospitality and the way we make people eat when they come over.

on the topic of food , in morocco it's a custom to pour tea and other drinks while keeping the kettle as high as you can away from the cup. it's a form of respect when you do this , and if you don't it's considered kind of shady if you don't specify that you can't or something along those lines.

jamil definitely pours the octavinelle trios cups as one normally would without the extra respect theatrics and i imagine it makes kalim's eyes go wide like 'omg those are guests why is jamil being shady-'

random headcanons about jamil that me and friend were talking about—so we were specifically talking about headcanons in the scalding sands and whatnot , since it’s heavily based on arabia , but specifically the customs and cultural norms and whatnot. so in egypt there is this form of dance that came from a form of martial arts called tahtib. here’s some images of what it looks like , and i honestly think for jamil and all his dancing skills , he’d excel in tahtib. after the need for tahtib in war was lost , it become an art form used during celebrations and festivals.

i also think he’s really good at doing henna. like really good. he's definitely the one who does kalim's henna and i like to think that kalim ends up smudging it because he gets too excited and wants to chat with folks—

and ! jambiyahs ! jambiyahs are particularly omani , yemeni , and lower saudi arabia daggers that can often be passed down from generation to generation , no matter what class. every family usually has one and gives it to their eldest son as they get older. the only differences in class that are clear , are the designs on the jambiyahs , and i like to think jamil inherited his family’s jambiyah , but doesn’t wear it out during celebrations as one usually does because jambiyah can sometimes bring conversation to ones family and bring about suitors and whatnot , and i don’t think he wears his out for the sake of keeping attention upon kalim.

kalim has an extra fancy jambiyah with jewels and gold encrusted in it. he wears it with his sirwal kameez or his thobe and bisht whenever out in public with his family and at formal events especially. he doesn't usually take out his jambiyah unless it's for cultural dances. i headcanon that he almost hurt someone with the dagger and because of that he makes an effort to not take it out too often or just be extra careful when it comes to it

fun fact : kalim means ' speaker of/to allah '. it was the name associated with the prophet musa/moses pbuh because we believe he was the only one who spoke to allah directly. it's an exalted name to have and so i imagine that's why it was giving to kalim

jamil actually means 'beautiful' and the feminine version of it is 'jamilah'. jamil is a somewhat common arabic name, but not nearly as common as names like mohammed , ahmed , ali , abdullah and whatnot. i think it's fitting of him bc jamil is beautiful-

and if crowley chastises you for not doing the errands (via leona's common interference.) the only thing you need to honestly do is to complain to leona about it and suddenly crowley has the kindness to forgive you for your 'laziness' then says something about enjoying your time together?

at the end of the day you can't really hate him cause the following day you find out he sent an already sleep deprived ruggie to do your work. 'so you can shut your fussing up and let me enjoy you.' he says, and you quote.

it goes something like;

"if i finish my work i'll stick by you all day."

a stready flow of confidence keeps your voice firm as you glower down at the blank-faced leona sat on the grass. he merely tilts his head, raising a brow at you and seemingly pondering from the way his eyes fly to the sky.

you'd think that maybe your plan actually worked but he merely grunts and flops backwards, holding the back of his head with his palms as he laid. and! he ignores you.

...this little greedy man... "why should i care whether or not you finish your work?" he huffs, like the evil, arrogant spawn he is but you can't really defend yourself cause said evil spawn bewitched you so much that you actually still like him.

"because you care about me?"

"...fine," he scowls, releasing a breath you'd mistake for irritation. "then, do you really think i need you to finish your work when i can just keep you right here?"

you sulk. "i'll do anything you want?"

he deadpans as if you said something stupid. "i don't need you to anything else but sit still and be pretty."

...

...

see what i mean about him eventually winning you over? yeah.

next morning there's a rebellion in savanaclaw about overworked residents and ruggie is the head of them.

"he said that he doesn't need you today." <- ruggie, steering you away.

"really?" <- you, confused

riddle (overthinks TOO HARD.)

“I'm just a little busy.”

“I understand,” riddle says.

“I'm just a little busy.” he understands.

“a little busy.” its just… a small thought…

“I'm just busy.” his mind is a hazard at this point. 

for someone as supposedly maintained as riddle—you'd think his mind is as composed as it is organized. like the pens you'd perfectly align in correlation to order of colors, or the neat pile of clothing folded neatly, tucked in some corner in your closet that is farther in since it's used less.

that's just how he is, or at least seems to be. a bundle of organized thoughts, every thought connected to another. a mind too clean to be going on haywire (when he isn't in a particular mood, that is.)

you're just busy. he thinks. you said it yourself, with that agonizingly nice smile that must be sprinkled with some kind of spell from the way it just eradicated all the protests in his throat upon sight. he isn't one to question it, he wants to help but not if you don't ask.

he can only stare with resigned acceptance at your insomnia induced eyes.

but when the curtain of darkness befalls night raven college, even in the comfort of heartslabyul is he still thinking about that thought–and he can’t help but wonder; why exactly are you busy? its not that he’s suddenly hyper aware of your lack of presence since you’ve been attached to the hip the previous week and now you’re just.

…busy…

riddle likes to think of himself as a level-headed, private person. like the boy he raised himself to be and therefore proud of. but its way past 10AM. which is usually the time he sleeps, and let me tell you that he’s never once broke the cycle for years. yet here he is, a frown of frustration present on his face as he wills his mind to sleep.

somehow closing his eyes felt forced, he immediately snapped them open once his mind decides to conjure an image of you even in the darkness his lids offers.

“THIS IS ABSURD.”

and the yell promptly woke up the entire dorm from the ferocity of his scream. (and of course gave them the flashback of their year.)

that night was one of the worst he’s ever had because he woke up with red rimmed eyes and a pounding headache that ensured his bad mood the rest of the day.

everyone noted to steer clear.

and he unknowingly steered clear of yours since you were ‘busy.’

“why are you sulking?” a voice queried, spoken as though they were eating something as they asked. a reprimand rises in his throat, but it all just dies down once his sharp eyes settle on you, slipping into the seat in front of him then raising a brow and the traces of irritation practically evaporates from his eyes.

he feels the need to cough–so he does. “i’m– i’m not.” he clears his throat, avoiding your eyes but still sneaking in glances, something he notes is that you’re still looking everytime he does. (and boring an unimpressed face because he knows you don’t believe him at all.)

guilt rises in his mind, because he feels a slither of annoyance and its the presence of pettiness that bothers him. riddle knows you’re not at fault, just his mind at convincing that you just somehow decided in the span of a day that you might not like him anymore–so he can’t help the bite. 

“why are you here?” a glance not intended to look mean.

“i thought you were busy.” he adds.

your brows raise, he spots your teeth holding your lips back from showing your grin and he feels warm. “what?” he hisses defensively, despite you not even having replied to him yet.

he leans backwards, straightening up in his seat when your chin leans forward, resting on your intertwined fingers. you flash him a smile. 

“mr. rosehearts, are you perhaps… sulking because i’m busy?”

“no!”

silence.

“no.” he repeats, weaker.

“well,” you continue, beaming. “i heard from ace that you were awake the entire night, and that you kept him awake too. are you alright?” 

he sputters. “it wasn’t because of you!”

you snort. “i didn’t even say anything about me.”

so you incline to following riddle around, poking fun at him and still trailing after the seemingly enraged red head because despite his angry protests, demanding you to go away because you’re annoying he keeps glancing back to see if you’ll follow,

so cute…….

♡ kalim al-asim ♡ ♡ he loves everything about her but what he loves the most is how kind and caring she is, she's just a really sweet person and she helps anyone in need. ♡ when they're together they'll pretty much do anything, but what he enjoys doing the most is dancing with her, they'll look up new dance moves online or come up with their own and just have a fun time. ♡ he was surprised when he found out that she loves music, she mostly listens to it but she likes to sing and try out different instruments time to time, he likes to join her when she's listening to music and sings along to the songs with her. ♡ he was really surprised when he saw her daydreaming, he accidentally brought her back to reality and he immediately apologized for it, he promised to never do it again but he's kinda forgetful and accidentally brings her back to reality pretty often. ♡ he doesn't mind that she takes a lot of naps or sleeps a lot, he'll make sure that she's comfortable and tells everyone that she's sleeping, he'll also join her sometimes when he's tired.
