Batfam music headcannons

Bruce: emo. My chemical romance flows through his veins. Like there is no way he didn't hear Welcome to the Black Parade and didn't immediately decide he'd be THE emo superhero/vigilante. Personally paided MCR to get back together.

Dick: literally anything. Like there is no way that if you pit his playlist on shuffle it'd be either the best or worst song you've ever heard. It'll go from Toxic by Britney Spears, to Back To Black by Amy Winehouse, to Lonely Day by System Of A Down, to Starman by David Bowie. His music taste is absolutely horrible (this totally wasn't somewhat based on what I listen to...)

Jason: Classic rock. No explanation needed.

Tim: anything Bruce, Dick, or Jason would listen to. Oh and showtoons. My mans if a hard-core theater nerd, you cannot prove me wrong.

Damian: mostly classic ballroom dancing type of stuff with a little hard rap throwed in everyone in awhile. Someone (100% Babs) interduced him to Rap God and it became his personality for like a month.

Babs: hard rap, I will not elaborate.

Steph: Taylor Swift, not like a huge fan but will kill over Oliva Rodrigo. Also, an occasional Weird Al song, she thinks they're hilarious.

Cass: doesn't really listen to music, if she does it's just a playlist Dick or Tim made.

Duke: literally the only normal one. The Weekend, Harry Styles, etc. Is weirded out by everyone else at first but eventually gets used to it.

the barbara and bruce dynamic is actually so funny to me like they're co-parenting a teenage girl together, babs is dating bruce's son, she's the daughter of one of the only people bruce actually trusts, they've been coworkers for years, and they just legitimately CANNOT stand each other. they're close with the same people, work together all the time, and yet literally every conversation they have in batgirl (2000) goes exactly like this:

barbara, just got back from a date with dick, picking up cass for her week of custody: hey cass it's nice to see you sweetie :) oh hi bruce.

bruce, returned from a (play)date with commissioner gordon, recently worked with dinah, babs's best friend in the world: barbara.

babs, unable to stop herself: how's it feel being a bitch all the time?

bruce, also unable to stop himself: i don't know, BARBARA, why don't you tell me?

Let’s see if I got this right,

If you want good Batman, read Detective Comics, not Batman

Good Nightwing, read him being Batman

If you want good Jason, read fanfiction or WFA

If you want good Tim, I was told his solo series, but I found he’s better in Batman

If you want good Damian, read Dick’s run as Batman or Supersons if it’s to your tastes

If you want good Babs, don’t read anything modern unless it’s Birds of Prey

If you want good Steph, her solo is fine but gets rid of her nuances, but the stories with her nuances treat her horribly so good luck

Good Cass, her solo, and keep rereading it because no one who works at DC gets her except in very niche books (Outsiders)

If you want good Duke, read literally anything with him in it except WFA

EDIT: Guys, this is a joke post based on what I’ve seen in posts for these characters. It is not a recommended reading list. “Why do you put, “this is a joke in your tags? It is to alleviate yourself of being called -insert form of bigotry against the character-?” No, it’s because if I don’t ppl don’t get that I’m not being serious. Only Cass and Duke have ones I would actually suggest based on my own experience reading the character.

Just read through all of Batman Wayne Family Adventures and I have to say that I consider this to be the most canon batfamily there is and you can fight me. From sibling nonsense to Bruce trying his hardest to be a good dad to emotional moments it's all so good. Also it's hilarious in every way shape and form. Characters you don't see often in the batfamily but deserve more recognition are made so lovable

the batfam & hero merch

- bruce only wears Superman and Wonder Woman merch because he doesn’t want his kids to think he’s picking favorites if he wears theirs

- babs mainly wears Nightwing, Batgirl and Spoiler merch, and she has some old Batman merch from before she was a vigilante

- dick’s favorite hoodie is Red Robin merch, but he owns merch for everyone in the family & Superman that he wears consistently

- cass LIVES in Batman merch, she is always wearing some, but she also owns Spoiler and Batgirl merch

- all the merch jason owns have been gifts from his family, he refuses to buy any himself except for Wonder Woman merch

- tim mainly wears Nightwing merch, but he owns Spoiler and Signal merch as well. he also made his own Oracle merch that he wears (he makes some for the rest of the family as well)

- steph wears Spoiler merch unironically, and has Red Hood, Signal and Batgirl merch she wears on occasion

- duke wears his Red Robin and Robin merch the most, but he also has merch for the rest of his siblings + babs

- damian only wears Batman and Nightwing merch, he refuses to wear merch for anyone else

(dick and tim also own merch for their hero friends that they wear)
