i'm bored so here are some opinions that i'm too scared to say on any other platform

Deciding that Pandora Lovegood had to be from a death eater family (Rosier, Malfoy, Lestrange) was the worst thing this fandom ever did to her character

The fannon characterisation of Marlene McKinnon gives me massive self inset pick me vibes and i hate every part of it (and i really mean every part of it)

This fandom isn't misogynistic y'all are just too demanding and expect the fandom to be the exact same as any other where we have a hardcore cannon source for every one of these characters and ships. we do not. we know more about Barty Crouch Jr then we do about Marlene McKinnon, Mary MacDonald and Dorcas Meadowes combined. it's unrealistic and stupid to expect everyone to care about the same characters and ships to the same capacity as you do when we are not watching/reading the same thing. (if any of that makes sense)

Barty Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier and pretty much every single other death eater were villains. it's okay to like them and want to expand on them but stop trying to make every bad guy secretly good

We cannot keep blaming Dumbledore for everything. Dumbledore had nothing to do with half of the deaths that you are accusing him of. blaming Dumbledore and headcannoning that he obliviated Mary and turned Regulus away and all that takes away from everyone else's characters, sacrifice and choices

The Marauders weren't child soldiers. They had a choice on if they wanted to join the Order or not and they chose to because they're Gryffindors and they're The Marauders and probably thought of themselves as some invisible hero's. They don't need to be seen as victims to Dumbledore for them to be tragic

There is a cannon and you cannot be mad at people for wanting to stick by it

Similarly Fannon Sirius is against cannon. Sirius is one of the primary adult characters in the Harry Potter series. He is literally the title character to the fan favourite book/film. We have so much information about how he acts and "oh Remus i'm your little bitch please let me sit on your lap because i'm only small" ISNT ONE OF THEM

When I was young and wondering why I hadn't experienced a crush yet, the internet said I was probably just a late bloomer. They urged me not to identify as aroace because I could change my mind later on.

And looking back, like… so?

If I had been a late bloomer, who cares?

I was 13. I felt comfort in the aroace community. I didn’t feel like a weirdo for once in my life, surrounded by people who were like me. But I was urged to not join these communities until I became an adult in case I changed my mind about being ace. So I didn’t. And I paid for that.

Who cares? If you’re young and feel like you’re aroace, then you’re aroace. If you “change your mind” later, it’s okay. No one is going to be born and know themselves 100%. I genuinely thought I was alloromantic once, but now know I’m not.

Speaking from experience, I would rather have kids be “wrong” about their sexuality than feel like they have no place of belonging.

We shouldn’t gatekeep aroace folk because of their age. It hurts. It makes kids feel like they are the freaks society tells them they are.

While I agree that Ema and Franziska are both mean and also probably lesbians, I think there's a distinct difference in the TYPE of meanness that leads me to bestow the moniker of "hater" on Ema and not Franziska

Franziska's anger feels more an reflection of the self, an outward expression of her feelings and circumstances that holds a large degree of thematic relevance to the story of JFA. Franziska's outward aggression reflects her legacy, acting as a twisted mirror of her father and his mannerisms that show the ways in which his fingerprints are all over his proteges long after his death. It serves to highlight the similarities between herself, Manfred, and Edgeworth in their philosophies and actions while showing the ways in which each either chose to grow past their traumas or wallow in them. Her anger shows her innermost feelings and the way she relates to herself and the legacy she's inherited, as well as acting as an expression of her grief towards Edgeworth's faked and metaphorical deaths that she is unable to process in another way. Her anger is a personality trait, yes, but it also more broadly represents the themes of legacy and grief that act as the through-line of JFA's narrative. It acts as the culmination of a lot of narrative elements, her past, and her personality, and more broadly serves as a representation of the social fabric and power dynamics that Franziska has been shaped by. She is mean, but she isn't a hater in the traditional sense because of how deeply her anger is connected to her perceived place in society and the intimate relations that have shaped this understanding. Her "meanness" is thus more connected to the "self" than the "other" and acts as an expression of her ideals and relations to others rather than an explicit judgment of those she's being aggressive towards

Meanwhile Ema is a "hater" because she likes to dunk on all these losers. As is her right

i didn't wanna ramble too much off topic in that last post but shout out to tanaka for doing so much to integrate the first years into the team.

Like, it's not just the way he takes hinata under his wing or how he decides to help kagehina within minutes of meeting them, it's also how he's arguably the primary factor in showing kageyama how to be friends with his teammates via leading by example ie verbal encouragements and high fives and being supportive even outside the club like when he gets saeko to drive kageyama and hinata to the camp. it's how he goes out of his way to include tsukki in the team's celebrations and rituals and moments even when tsukki is actively trying not to. It's how he embodies team spirit and loyalty and how he shows them both how to be a great senpai and he in turn is a wonderful kohai to daichi and suga and asahi.

He's always so willing to stand up for everyone too, whether it's other teams bashing Karasuno or if he thinks his own team members are being disrespectful towards each other (that scene when he starts scolding tsukki for not being supportive enough of yamaguchi-or when he's ready to murder kageyama on noya's behalf), he's just the absolute best and i love him.

Can i share an unopopular opinion of mine?

I wished that most segs times in movies and series we could skip with a button just like anime openings on Netflix

I mean, it's not that segs isn't important, but, not everyone that wants to watch a show wants too see people f5ckin,

"So don't watch it"

It's not that simple, since there are many shows that i LOVE like Bridgerton that i know the sexy times are important for the plot, like the mirror scene (which i love, don't get me wrong please) but it's very diferent seeing and reading

I feel unconfortable, so, if Netflix and other plataforms could add a button to skip the sexy scene it would be great

P.s: i'm saying this since i'm an aroace and sex repulsive person

So s3x for me is something i don't fancy, and even though i know it's an important thing for most humans out there, i find it very icky

Unpopular opinion about Voldemort regarding sex

In my opinion, before meeting Bellatrix Voldemort was proudly a virgin by choice. For him, sex is a way to guarantee the continuation of the lineage, so for him it is useless, furthermore he sees abstinence as a form of spiritual elevation (and in my canon he is gray-ace, so he falls into the asexual spectrum).

Ace Attorney

I really really love the way the Ace Attorney games use structure and parallelism to tell their stories rather than, like, conventional plots. The setup and payoff doesn't come from things happening one after another in game- hell, every case basically stands on its own, even each game's Case 4!- they come from building up patterns over the course of the game, so when everything comes together at the end, you feel really smart for figuring it out.

Hi! I'm the person who submitted the klapollo take, and I would like to add that I think that they're only shipped because they're defense and prosecution, and that people were desperate to ship any pair of attorneys who are opposite sides because of narumitsu

i mean, i still haven't played the second trilogy, but i agree that narumitsu is a really tough act to follow

it's not much of a surprise given the series' history that people were already looking for similar ships elsewhere - and while i haven't played the games, from what i read online while researching this take apollo and klavier's relationship does have some similarities with narumitsu (mutual trust in the courtroom, a shared determination to find the truth, etc.)

HM OKAY. well. starting with contradicting opinions that piss me off: the idea that connor is just a "killing machine" in the game. connor consistently tries to choose nonviolent routes whenever the option is there. to stop william johnson, he chose to cut off his source of revenue, even when achilles expected him to kill johnson and was visibly disappointed in connor for not doing so. and when he does eventually accept that killing is necessary, he makes it quick and dignified. he stops putnam from kicking hickey's body by firmly reminding putnam that hickey was a human being whose corpse deserves respect. he stops haytham from beating church so he can give church a quick death. he honours biddle's wish to go down with his ship, even though salvaging the ship could provide funds for the patriot cause. he shares a drink with his mortal enemy, lee, before giving him a swift death. he is consistently respectful and considerate even to his enemies.

and yet!!! people consistently moan that connor has no personality and is just a killing machine. despite all this. despite the fact that haytham, within their time together, kills people three times against connor's explicit wishes. three separate times, connor either promises mercy or shows no threat of violence, and haytham kills those people anyway. and i like that about haytham as a character trait, it fits with his overall arc! but people calling connor a killing machine and simping for haytham smacks of. hm. what's the word. racism!

Say what you want about the anime as a whole but Sound the Turnabout Melody is the quintessential VK family content in my mind. Keeping this short bc this is for hot takes and not 3500 words of me losing my mind but I could write an essay on that one final scene where Franziska watches from the shadows as Manfred ties the cravat around Edgeworth’s neck. For unpopular opinions: franmaya (Ace Attorney) is an annoyingly overrrated ship and fans willfully ignore the few potentially interesting aspects of it in favor of creating a generic soft, uwu cutesy ship that seems ooc for both characters.

I never really got how it became so popular and while I can see why it can be liked - there is some potential for a good slow burn! - it seems more like they paired up the 2 most popular and same age female characters of the franchise to avoid " GASP!
