DPxDC Alt Rock to the Rescue
[Inspired by this art]
"...Alright, I might have an idea," John Constantine, who was seemingly busy texting someone for the past ten - or twenty, no one really counted - minutes, puts his phone away and snaps his head up.
The room falls silent. Superman blinks in surprise, Diana frowns slightly, and Batman's mouth is pressed into a thin, stubborn line. Flash recovers first.
"You have an idea?" He huffs a short, disbelieving laugh, "No offense, but I'm not sure a magic trick can help us against, you know, an alien fleet." He gestures to one of the screens on the wall, where said fleet is approaching Earth on live.
The rest of the Leaguers present don't exactly agree with him, at least not verbally, but the mood in the room shifts from tense, anxious alarm to an almost palpable annoyance. To be honest, no one was even sure why or how John Constantine of all people ended up in the meeting. It's not like JLD could actually help with an ongoing, massive invasion that was about to happen in less than three- Correction, less than two and a half hours. Besides, it's John Constantine. The man that never shows up unless outright bullied into submission.
The magician winces briefly and starts rummaging through his pockets under the weight of everyone's attention.
"I said I might," he amends gruffly, getting a cigarette out of one of his pockets and sticking it in his mouth but not lighting it. Seems like it wasn't what he was looking for, though, because after that, the man keeps going through the various places on his coat, patting himself down. "I know someone who can deal with it. Granted, I already owe him a great deal, but he won't say no," he pauses and grimaces, "At least I hope he won't."
"I do not think it would be wise to call upon gods in our situation," Diana tries carefully, but John pays her little mind.
"Or demons," Green Arrow adds, crossing his arms on his chest, "I'm not selling my soul to get rid of some rocket ships or whatever they are."
Now, that makes the magician bark a laugh. Or, maybe it's the piece of lime green paper - a sticky note, actually - that he finally finds in the depths of his pockets.
"Oh, your soul's gonna stay where it is."
"Constantine-" Batman starts, but John cuts him off instantly.
"Mine will stay wherever it is as well," he reassures the man, "It's not that kind of entity." And with that, he promptly sets the green note on fire - green fire - and uses it as a lighter for his cigarette.
The next moment after the note is reduced to ash, there's a shift in the air in front of him, and, before any of the heroes have a split second to react, there are two people floating in the middle of the room, backs pressed to each other.
Two teenagers, to be exact. A girl and a boy, both of them so pale that their skin looks gray, and both dressed in grunge, like they just came from a rock concert. Yet, that's where the 'normal' parts of their looks end - the boy's hair is so white it looks blinding, and moves in the air slowly, undeterred by gravity, and the girl's hair is neon blue, her ponytail flickering up like a flaming torch.
The boy nearly topples over as the girl leans her back on him harder and kicks her feet up slightly. The movement is awkward, like both of them were taken by surprise by the sudden relocation, and maybe the guess about the rock concert was not so far from reality; there are drumsticks in the boy's hands, and the girl is holding an electric guitar in her hands.
"The fuck?.." The boy asks no one in particular, as the girl makes an annoyed groan and straightens up, still floating in the air. Her guitar makes an aborted sound. Meanwhile, the boy's eyes land on Constantine, and his whole face scrunches in disgust, "John, for the love of Ancients, I was in the middle of something."
The girl takes a look around while her friend is busy expressing his annoyance and elbows him in the side, "Oi, look, it's the whole Comic Con in the flesh here."
Green Arrow sputters. Flash makes a wordless but very offended sound. The floating boy looks around, taking stock of faces in the room, and the disgust on his face morphs into exasperation.
He turns back to Constantine, "Really? I thought I told you I want no part in your furry parade."
"Alien invasion," the magician decidedly doesn't address any of that, instead pointing his finger to the screen behind him. "Thought you ought to know," he adds, a bit of sarcasm bleeding into his tone.
"Ooh, is it my turn to be your world saving buddy, Phantom?" The girl perks up, turning around and draping herself over the boy's shoulders with a giddy laugh. Her guitar shifts to hang in the air on her side all by itself.
The boy - Phantom - rolls his eyes. Bright green, glowing eyes that definitely don't belong to a human being.
"If I had a nickel every time I had to save the world, I'd probably be able to buy myself my own guitar," he grumbles and looks back to Constantine. "Do I, like, have to? Right now? You know, I don't get paid for this bullshit, and the studio we rented for rehearsal has an hourly rate, so if we can postpone this for about an hour and a half, that'd be real nice."
"The fleet is only two hours away from Earth," Batman supplies suddenly, and, when both floating kids turn to look at him, adds, "I can pay for your next rehearsal. Or a few of them." Evidently, Phantom's comment about nickels struck a nerve. Or, maybe, the man just likes throwing money at any teenager he encounters. Who knows.
The boy blinks, taken aback by the proposition. But the girl grins, sharp and wicked, and shoves her drummer - if the drumsticks are to tell - in the side again.
"Hey, free studio. Better than the last time."
That snaps Phantom out of his stupor, and he groans, "Don't remind me." With a weary sigh, he runs a hand through his hair and leans back in the air, almost like reclining on it. "Okay, fine, sure. Do you want them, like, away from Earth- um, this is Earth, right?" He turns to Superman, surprisingly, looking for confirmation, and the man nods, thrown off guard. The boy nods back and continues, "Or you want them blasted into oblivion, or what?"
"Whatever suits your mood, kid," John waves his hand at the screen as if making a welcoming gesture, "But all the aliens gotta go."
Unexpectedly, that makes the girl's grin even wider, and she reaches for her guitar, floating around Phantom and looking him in the face. The look she gives him speaks of mischief, and the boy seems to understand what she's implying before she as much as opens her mouth.
"Ember, no," he pounts a drumstick at her.
"Ember, yes," she wiggles her eyebrows, "Come on, your wail is boring as fuck as it is, why not spice it up?"
"I'm not wailing," Phantom scrunches his nose, "My throat will hurt for weeks."
Ember runs her fingers over the strings of her guitar, and it makes a comparatively quiet, vibrating sound. A few cords shoot out of the bottom of her instrument, like ones used to plug an electric guitar to an amp. She raises her eyebrows, still looking at Phantom, a silent conversation between them.
Then, the boy huffs and rolls his eyes, twirling a drumstick in his fingers.
"Fine."
The cords fly at him like snakes, aiming at his neck. None of the Leaguers watching the encounter get to say even a word as the metal pins insert themselves into the boy's neck, acting like some twisted kind of collar. Phantom doesn't even flinch.
Ember's guitar, on the other hand, reacts to the connection quite violently: it makes a high-pitched sound all on its own and then changes color from black and blue to white and green, with lightning bolts instead of flames for design. The girl's ponytail flares up higher as she softly murmurs in delight.
Then, she turns to the people around them and smirks, "Which way is the evil alien fleet?"
Flash wordlessly points his finger to the right and up. The girl nods in satisfaction, turning in the air so her guitar is facing that way.
"You might want to cover your ears," Phantom advises, a sly smile on his face and a glimmer of anticipation to his eyes. John Constantine follows that direction immediately, and, taking his move as the best course of action, the other heroes follow as well. Except Batman, who only narrows his eyes and looks at both teens in the air apprehensively. Phantom shrugs, "Or don't, I don't hold any responsibility for your shattered eardrums."
"Pick up where we left off, then," Ember tells him, and the boy blinks:
"Wait, I thought you'd just-"
[For some wholesome experience, put your headphones in and listen to 'KULT' by Jisaiah, grandson, and Steve Aoki]
But the girl has already started a tune, nodding her head to the rhythm of it and slowly picking up the pace. Phantom huffs, but doesn't protest any further, floating up as much as the cords allow him and spinning a drumstick in his hand.
"Maybe I should join a cult
At least they'll tell me it's not my fault
That the world's a fucking circus
That my life feels fucking worthless," he spits the words out with a sneer, slowly rotating in the air until he is hanging upside down. His eyes are closed, and his voice becomes more and more staticky with every new sound. The volume of Ember's guitar gets up, higher and higher, until the walls and the floor of the room around them start to vibrate.
Then, Ember's voice joins Phantom's, and the boy brings his drumsticks down on thin air, mimicking the moves. Only, even with the actual drums not there, the air around him ripples like they are, and they all can hear the beat.
"Maybe I should join a cult
At least they'll tell me it's not my fault
When it all comes crashing down
We'll see who's laughing," both kids pause, just for a beat, and Ember uses that split second to spin the volume knob to the max before strumming her guitar in one wide, sharp move.
"NOW!"
The sound wave is not only palpable, it's visible. A wave of toxic green ripples through the air, knocking everyone present - sans the two kids in the air - to the ground, and goes beyond. The screens on the walls flicker and turn off, sending sparks in the air, and the comms give off loud, screeching noises, and-
The following silence feels almost deafening.
Batman, unsurprisingly, is the first one to stand back on his feet and see a few of the screens come back online.
Just in time to see that same green wave of... sound? energy? power?.. decimate the entire fleet like a wet cloth over a chalkboard. One moment, the spaceships were there, and the next they are gone, wiped out of existence.
Ember laughs, leaning back and almost doing a backflip in the air.
"That was nice, dipshit!" She shoves Phantom in the shoulder, and the boy snorts, plucking the cords out of his skin and grinning.
"Yeah," he agrees with a smile, not even looking at the screens around, "Maybe we should try rehearsing in space next time. Sing to the stars and all that crap."
"Sing to the stars?" Ember raises her eyebrows mockingly as the rest of the heroes scramble to their feet, bemoaning their ringing ears. "Na-ah," she clicks her tongue and turns to Batman, "You still up for paying for our studio?"
The man just grunts in a semblance of affirmation.
"Sweet," the girl grins and offers Phantom a hand for a high five, which he returns instantly. "Cheers to the world being saved once again!"
The boy just rolls his eyes and turns to Constantine, "Next time, be a dear and text me before summoning, or I'm going to sell your soul to Morpheus, and who knows what he'll do with you."
John Constantine grimaces. "I did," he offers grudgingly.
But both unearthly teenagers are already gone without a trace.

DCxDP Meet Cute? Meet Feral!
Batman and Robin are out on patrol. Bats has to pop out of the Batmobile for a minute, and leaves a sulking Damian to stay with the car. Just as Damian considers taking the car for a joyride, who should pop out of nowhere but Ellie! She slaps a sticker on the hood of the Batmobile and poses for a selfie. Robin of course, exits the vehicle to ask her wtf she thinks she's doing. Ellie immediately clocks him as a fellow poorly socialized gremlin child, tackles him and it's on!
Batman returns a few minutes later to find the two of them rolling on the grimy asphalt in a tangle of limbs, growling, kicking, punching, biting, all formal fight training forgotten. Bats has to forcibly separate them and scruffs them like misbehaving kittens who continue to snarl and throw insults at each other. Now Batman doesn't know who Ellie is, but he recognizes her logo and suit being like fellow League member Phantom's and calls him up in his Tiredest Dad voice to ask if he's missing a kid.
Danny arrives a short time later, and gets a truncated explanation of what happened. Now Danny is a, tired and annoyed about being woken in the middle of the night b, is a giant shit-stirrer himself and has been merrily gaslighting the rest of the League about ghost culture c, sees a golden opportunity to give Mr Batman Grumpypants some new gray hairs.
Danny: Now now Ellie, we talked about this. You're a princess! You can't just go around and accept a proposal from the first cute liminal boy you meet!
Batman and Robin, who were patching up a bite wound: Wait what
Danny: You'll be the ruler of the dead someday! You don't have to settle for a lowly mortal just because he threw a punch your way!
Robin: Now hang on...
Ellie, playing along: But Daaaaad! I don't wanna marry some emperor! At least this one still has all his teeth!
Robin: Hey, I'm heir to the Batman and the Demon's Head!
Danny: Do you know how many requests for your hand I get each week? I could have Alexander the Great as a son-in-law you know.
Ellie: But I already accepted this one!
Batman: *eye twitch* Robin is not marrying anyone, I forbid it
Robin: *stomps foot* So you don't think I'm worthy of marrying a princess?
Danny, watching the ensuing argument: Mission accomplished

flowers for the damned (1)
“Honestly, it’s more of a cultural talking point than anything else. Sure, lots of the Earth-born like to brag about having the biggest grave, but we all know it’s about the symbol. A grave is something to be remembered by, and what ghost doesn’t want to be remembered?”
The thing is, Bruce isn’t even supposed to hear the words.
It’s a coincidence, a random chance that he’d happened to be walking past the library in time to catch the snippet of conversation. In hindsight, Bruce can’t even remember what he’d been doing at the time, nor could he tell you who Danny had been talking to.
Bruce isn’t even sure if Danny knows he was there. If Danny knows that he overheard.
But Bruce was there, and he did hear the words, and now they’re rattling around in his mind like caged birds, begging to be freed.
What ghost doesn’t want to be remembered?
There is no grave marked Daniel J. Fenton. Bruce knows this, because he searched and searched and searched, and came back with nothing, no matter how many times he tried. If there was, it would be covered in Danny’s favorite flowers, he’d make sure of it.
It's later that night, when Bruce gathers the courage to mention it.

For @ace-in-disgrace and their prompt: Danny gets mistaken as the love child of the disasters known as Wolverine and Deadpool.
Okay, it was not Danny's fault, he swears!
He was just experimenting with his ice, playing around with some of the younger yetis in the Far Frozen for fun. So shaping his ice to cover his hands to copy the paws of the others and seeing how well he could cut through solid hard frozen ice was just a game. The rough housing was to be expected, everyone tossing each other to see how far they could be thrown was fun.
Being picked up and tossed at the right exact moment a portal opened up was not fun or expected and he blamed Clockwork. The entity had to be responsible somehow for him not being able to enjoy a day of hanging out with Frostbite and the others.
Landing right in the middle of a what looked like a swat happening in an abandoned warehouse, armored people instantly aiming their rifles at him as he stood up wasn’t even surprising given his luck.
Fair though, he was currently looking more on the feral side to match his playmates then his normal ghost form.
“Hey, what’s with hostility? Can’t someone just pop in somewhere without-“, and he was shot in the shoulder, cutting his sentence off, “rude.”
It was just a regular bullet, so it was easy for his form to just…push it out and heal the hole up.
One of the men reached up to touch a device attached on his ear, “Unknown possible mutant has breached the facilities, age around 12-15, regeneration showed, animal like features-“
“You know it’s really rude to talk about someone like that to their face, no manners at all.”
“Unfortunately satirical.”
There was a crash from above as red and yellow forms busted through the glass, the guns swinging their aim at the two men landed.
“Sassiness is always welcomed!”, the red man had his own guns out and was already firing as he talked.
Danny had decided to dodge over to a pile of crates as all the attention was on the new intruders, eyes wide as an arc blood barely missed him as the one in yellow unsheathed long blades from his knuckles.
He glanced at his own hands, he couldn’t make a working gun from ice but…concentrating…he slowly watched as ice built up into copies, looking very much like it was growing from his skin.
An armored body was flung his way and he instinctual reacted…there were now two halves of a one man and he was covered in the viscera.
He froze…did he…oh…oh no…he had to go, he had to go now.
“Ope, looks like someone's first kill! Look at you Jack Frost,” the red guy with guns was now standing above him on a bigger crate, waving down at the teen, “awe, tiny puppy claws!”
Danny took a swing at the crate, watching as it collapsed and the man fell, laughing the entire time he went down.
He quickly turned to run, only to run into a wide chest where he promptly bounced off and landed ass first on the floor, “What in the-I have literally ran into steel walls softer then you.”
Claw man snorted as he reached down and picked Danny up by the scruff, “You alright kid?”
Said kid just hissed at him.
Claws was chuckling, “Cute, now put back your claws, I think it’s time for a chat.”
“Is it finally our turn for the found family and misunderstandings trope,” the red man was back and had swaggered up to the other two, an arm being thrown over his partners shoulders, “Hi, there and welcome, I’m Deadpool and this is Wolverine and we’re your new dads.”
“No.”
“No?”
Danny smiled, all sharp teeth, “No,” and promptly went invisible and intangible, escaping out of the warehouse while he could, leaving the other two behind.
He had to find a portal home.
Wade went limp, using Logan as a brace, “But I wanted to pull a ‘Batman’…”
The response was a snort and Wolverine sniffing his own hand, growling as he took the child’s scent in, “Don’t know what your talking about but, I can track him down, we probably need to before more of these fucks show up and get their hands on him.”
Hope you enjoyed it!

im dedicating this to @detectivedarling. i felt inspired after seeing their little ficlet yesterday sadhjfl 🫶
-
Danny's grip on his cane tightens.
"What—"
His voice cracks. He stops, clears it, then tries again in spite of the nausea twisting in his gut. "What are — you, uh, watching, Bruce?" He sounds horribly far away.
Bruce doesn't look at him, his attention laser-focused on the screen. Which is— fine. It's usually not a problem, Bruce gets like that when he hyper-focuses on a case, and unless it's urgent — or he's been at it for hours — Danny sees no need to pull him away from it. He likes the quiet camaraderie they have, it's companionable and unique to the two of them.
He wishes he was right now though. Looking at him, that is.
That way he wasn't watching what was clearly one of Danny's ghost fights. One of the nastier ones, if the collateral damage and rubble on the street is of any indication.
Danny tries to remember which one that is. He shuffles a little closer to the desk, ignoring the rock in his stomach or the ugly weightlessness in his arms. It's not the blood blossoms, that much he knows. He just recently had an injection so it shouldn't be bothering him this soon—
So it's just nerves. Perfect.
Most footage of his fights are— messy, at best. Unusable at worst. Amity Park was obsessed with appearing 'normal' when they first started happening, and typical news stations censor the worst of the fights anyways for publishing, since they can get pretty gory at times. And ghosts move too fast to be caught on regular standard cameras, not including distance and light and—
That is to say— finding usable ghost fight videos is hard.
Danny wonders how Bruce got his hands on this one, and then stops wondering.
The audio is muted, which is - good. Good, because the fight is ugly and chaotic and clearly this was taken on someone's phone. Fuck, he can't remember if he ever saw that before — clearly not. They're hiding behind an overturned car, and Danny grits his teeth so he doesn't tell that idiot to run.
The camera turns up, and focuses on two figures in the air. It takes a few seconds, but when it does, Danny gets hit with a wave of vertigo. His grip tightens and he leans heavily on his cane, he waits for the black dots to disappear.
He- uh, he remembers this fight now. Uh, sort of.
He remembers being twelve at the time, and he remembers some of the injuries he got out of it. His eyelid spasms abruptly. This ghost wasn't one of his regulars, so he doesn't remember whatever name they had, barely remembered what they looked like up until- uh. Now.
Was he always that small? Well— Phantom's never been particularly big, perks of being a dead kid, but— it's - different. Seeing it from an outsider perspective. Was he that small? Or is it just because he's wearing a jumpsuit clearly too big for him that casts the illusion of being small?
Doesn't really - matter. Now. He can't access his ghost form, and he already knows the answers to his appearance.
Phantom is clearly bleeding, viscous and violently green like the bubbles of a lava lamp, clutching onto a limp shoulder that's missing an arm from the elbow down. Half his face is drenched in similar blood, the eye on the drenched side is closed — not because he can't see through the ectoplasm.
Danny's memories of that fight slowly come in a bit clearer. Right. He took a pole to the eye in that one. That had - hurt. A lot. Getting an eye gouged out usually does. It and the missing arm took hours to grow back.
He rubs his eye with his palm for no other reason than it itches.
The other ghost isn't untouched of any injury either, but he's not in a state of dismemberment like Phantom is.
Danny drops his gaze down at Bruce, whose sitting in his chair with his hands threaded together, looking so tense that Danny half expects to meet solid steel if he were to touch his back. His face is - blank. Terribly blank, with an intensity in his eyes that Danny doesn't see often.
He looks terribly distressed.
He opens his mouth, and finds that nothing comes out. His throat is thick with an ugly, tar-like feeling that makes his eyes sting. Kinda reminds him of when someone wraps their hands around your throat and presses. He closes his mouth, then tries again.
"B—" hhhhhh, "Buzz."
Finally Bruce looks at him, one hand slaps the space button on the keyboard, and the video pauses. His expression doesn't shift, but there's a weight in the lines of his face that reminds Danny of a set of weights sagging.
He looks quite like he's grieving something.
Bruce opens his mouth, his voice comes out terribly soft and heartbroken: "He looks like you."
Which is— a terrifying sentence in and of itself. One that makes Danny's legs shake and ignite his ragged, poison-chewed nerves alight with the need to run. An instinctive urge to deny, deny, deny.
How could he? He could say, that's a ghost, Bruce. I'm not a ghost. He could crack a joke, and ask, 'do I look dead to you?' or say something about how he knows that his parents studied ghosts, but that didn't make him one.
He could say that, and he could say it knowing full well that Bruce would see right through it. He'd probably let Danny too.
Danny closes his eyes. They sting, you see? So does his nose, right in the back like someone popped him in the face. And his throat is thick and gross and like someone stuck a spider, the big fat tarantula kind, right down into his esophagus.
He breathes in — through his mouth, because his nose stings and so it'd be best not to irritate it further with air — and it's terribly shaky and uneven. But it clears a pathway to his lungs big enough for him to say — whisper, really:
"You know, I think you're the first person to notice that."

The cure to vampirism is to never get turned at all
Dick is not ashamed to admit he's in trouble.
He's surrounded on all sides by vampires (because that's a thing now), he's put in this situation by his sister which is just great. Some ancient vampire lady named Pandora says she needs him to defeat the Queen of Blood named Mary and he's pretty sure that involves him being turned into a vampire as well, which he doesn't want.
He's good but even he can tell his odds are pretty shit. There is no backup coming and even if he could call them they would never arrive on time.
And of course he's in his civvies and doesn't have any of his gear. Just fantastic.
But if he goes down he'll go down fighting.
"DANIEL!!"
everything screeches to a halt as the furious booming male voice echoes through the room.
A large ornate wooden double door in the back slams open and a young man rushes through slamming them closed behind him.
Intricate red and green flashes of energy cover the doors and then the young man turns to the crowd in the fancy crypt.
"Our young gifted prince? There is no need for you to attend this meeting, But if there is a way we may assis-?" The question hovers in the air, choked off as the young man runs forward and with hands shimmering in eerie venomous green and deep blood red energy he tears through the random vampire's throat, startling all the others.
"I'm putting an end to this madness, here and now" He drops the gradually disintegrating corpse on the ground.
"Young prince!?" Exclaims lady Pandora.
For Dick things become a blur after that. Screaming and screeching and inhuman growling. The young man easily tears through them all with his powers. It seems some form of backup did arrive, but if this is a blessing or a curse remains to be seen.
Dick doesn't understand though, he seems to be one of them so why...?
One second they are all still fighting then the next the old vampire lady is lying dead on the ground, gradually turning into dust. The vampires who remain all stare at the young man in shock. “he… he killed Pandora, our oldest. The strongest of us”
None of them seem to know what to do now. There are a lot of dead vampires all around, in Dick’s humble opinion this meeting could not have gone worse for the acolytes of shadow. He’s not feeling too upset about that though considering what they wanted from him. Still, the fact that they aren’t outright trying to kill this young prince in retaliation… he must be someone special, that alone is more than enough for Dick to keep his guard up around him.
Then the young man darts forward and grabs Dick's wrist, "we have to leave, the seal I put on the door is about to break. I won't be able to protect you from him"
"Who?" Dick can’t help but ask as they both start running for the exit. The young man quickly dragging him up the stairs. For a split second does Dick think about Melinda, he’s not entirely sure if she was among the ones killed or not. She was the one who tricked him into that mess.
Well, she absolutely knew the consequences, she told them about him being Nightwing, if whatever is left down there decides to punish her for this fiasco that’s probably what she deserves.
"I'll explain everything later, I promise, but we need to go now!"
The furious noises behind them grow steadily in volume. Danny pushes Dick forward as he slams the red fake fridge door closed behind them and another flash or red and green covers that as well, another seal of sorts most likely. The one other person in the kitchen startles as the two of them run past him.
"Who are you?"
"Call me Danny, now this way, quick!" the young prince, Danny apparently, faults over the Waffle House front desk Dick not hesitating to do the same.
"DANIEL HOW DARE YOU!" comes faintly from behind them as Danny slams the fake establishments front doors open and pulls Dick out of there.
"Oh he's next level mad" mutters Danny as they are running again. Meanwhile Dick is just very glad to be breathing in the fresh cold night air of Bludhaven.
However, his legs are having trouble keeping up with the pace, he has taken some serious hits and those things definitely don't pull any punches.
He can’t help the faint pained groan and the speed with which the other man snaps his attention back on him almost makes him flinch.
"Do you need a hand?"
"I'm fine"
"Here let me-"
Next thing Dick knows he's being carried, if he wasn't friends with so many supers and speedsters he'd probably be flailing. Instead he's just kinda used to it and lets it happen even if it’s a bit awkward what with Danny being a bit shorter than him.
He's glad when they get to a safehouse and Danny puts him on the couch. He then goes to fetch Dick the first aid kit.
"Who were we running from?"
"Old as balls vampire lord named Vladimir Masters, he’s in cahoots with the acolytes of shadow. And I guess he’s now fully in charge seeing Pandora just had her final death."
Dick pauses and just looks at him.
"Yes he's really named that" Danny looks rather tired.
"And I'm guessing he's the sort who is going to be a massive headache"
"I mean they had this whole plan of world domination, you were a key player in that plan which is now completely ruined by the way. I was part of it too but I really don't want anything to do with any of that so... here we are"
"Here we are"
It's only when Dick is fully bandaged that Danny flops down in the nearest arm chair and drops his head in his hands and takes a deep shuddering breath. Perhaps all the murder is catching up to him?
"Are you okay?"
"Don't mind me, I'm just... thirsty... I'll be fine"
"Ah yes of course, vampire."
"I'm unfortunately a vampire yeah but don’t get it twisted, I'm absolutely not one of them" Danny looks up and sneers, Dick can now clearly see the fangs. “Seeing humans as cattle… the absolute moronic-” Danny trails off in furious muttering. “living in a world with demons and angels and aliens and whatever else but no we’re the ones who deserve special treatment.”
Dick makes a choice and then gets up, Danny watching him go and curiously listening to him opening and closing something in a different room before coming back and holding out a blood bag with a bit of IV tube hanging out of it.
"Here you go."
“Oh! thank you,” Danny gladly takes the bag, "You just have bags of blood in your house?"
"You never know when you need an emergency blood transfusion. Especially considering my nightly activities." … you know that sounds kinda vampiric in it’s own way doesn’t it?
Danny snorts and starts drinking. It kind of looks like a huge capri-sun that way. It's sort of adorable.
If only it wasn't a massive plastic bag of Dick's own blood but whatever.
They both fall quiet as Danny focuses on his drink and Dick takes a moment to think about the absolute mess he just went through.
“Someone called you gifted… what did they mean by that?”
“This mostly,” Danny holds out his hand and shows Dick the strange glowing mixture of red and green energy he saw down in the crypt. “I am a huge anomaly because I became a vampire while I was half alive and half dead. What that means for the most part is enhanced powers, I am even harder to kill than a regular vampire and you cannot fix my vampirism with one of those disgusting smelling pits of… what was it called? Lar- Lazard?” “Lazarus,”
"Yes that! Anyway I am like.. the backup to their world domination plan, initially they just wanted me to be their weapon but I have morals, pesky things, super annoying according to them. Which is why they decided to ‘recruit’ you. But I managed to screw that up too.” Danny looks very satisfied with himself about that.
“Thanks for that” Dick says genuinely earning him a cheeky sharp fanged grin from Danny. Though he wished it had not involved such a massive carnage, he’s very glad he’s not a vampire right now. Beggars can’t be choosers he guesses.
“It would probably be best to get the League involved, root them all out. Vlad is definitely going to make more drastic moves now that things have turned out this way.”
Dick ponders to himself, “Yeah… let’s be Helsing about it,” He already got a Vampire on his side too.
Danny dejectedly looks down at his empty blood bag, “... can I have another?” He asks carefully.
“Sure!” responds Dick with a smile that finally manages to ease the tension out of Danny’s shoulders.

Danny and Peter run into Jason: one-shot based on my most recent post
\/\/\/\/
Danny sighed as he shivered, still trying to get used to the spider-sense. From what he and Peter could tell it's barely only been a month since their situation and by far Spider sense has been the most annoying ability to try and learn.
"Peter tingle sucks, man," Danny mutters under his breath lest he get confused stares.
"Please for the love of everything, stop calling it peter tingle." Peter begged. If he was in control of his body at the moment he's sure his head would be on his head.
Danny's... housemate? Body...mate? Ew, no not that one. Headmate. Yeah, headmate, tried his best to explain how his sixth sense worked and how to deal with it but Danny still gets freaked out by it. Even when he's not driving the body
"Well, maybe if i didn't get tingles and shivers every time i would call it accordingly."
"It's just warning you of danger."
"Dude, we're currently staying in an area called crime alley near a place called the narrows in a city where crime is rampant. Gotham is ranked number one for 'one of the most crime-ridden cities'," Danny ranted, trying to keep his voice low and head down.
That little nugget of information was great to learn when they were doing their research. On top of learning that aliens exist and the police were corrupt. Though that last one wasn't too surprising.
"I mean, if we moved..."
"We barely have enough to feed ourselves plus your crazy metabolism. We can't move and then struggle to find a good place to bunk." Danny sighed again.
Trying to find a job is the most difficult thing at the moment considering they didn't have any ID—or any proof of existence in this world—and the fact they looked so young.
Danny took stealing from people, much to chagrin if Peter. He swore up and down he was stealing from wealthy people.
Peter on the other hand, when he was in control of his body, would try and fix anything from anyone within the area. People have started calling him 'tinkerer' and. Funnily enough, the guy who buys the stuff Danny steals calls him 'furittus'.
"Hey, look." Peter grabbed Danny's attention to what's ahead of them.
In front of them is a nice red motorcycle, the glossy coat reflecting the soft glow of the nighttime city. It was just sitting idle and unattended with no one near it or in sight.
Danny whistled appreciatively and walked closer to it. "D'ya recognize it, Pete?"
"Hmm, I think it's a Honda CB750 but...it looks heavily modified. That would cost a lot." Peter noted with a hint of admiration in his voice.
Danny hummed in thought, a playful smile growing in his face.
"Think i could steal it?" He joked.
"No!"
Danny blinked as the word practically echoed in his head, "Ow."
Pete huffed. If he had his body he would cross them and he would have a frown on his face. "Sorry for yelling, but also, that's a horrible idea. It would have cost the person so much time and money to modify the bike."
Danny rolled his eyes, "If it meant so much they wouldn't have left it here in the middle of crime alley. Just the wheels at least."
Peter sighed, "You don't even have any tools. How are you going to take the wheels?"
Danny smirked as he lifted their hand and turned it intangible. At least, that was the attempt. Their whole arm turned intangible instead.
Peter huffed, "I'll try to keep a lookout as you take the wheels then. Just like to say again, this is a horrible idea."
Danny grinned as he quietly worked to get the wheels off the rest of the bike and carefully left the bolts near the bike. It's the least he could. He has one wheel off when he pauses his work to get a better look at the engine.
"This sure is a nice looking bike." Danny says absentmindedly. "I'm really curious who it belongs to."
"I would say thank you but it looks like I'm being robbed." The gravel behind them makes noise.
Danny gasps—blue mist leaves his mouth—spinning to face the man behind them and some of the bolts fall out of his hand.
"i found it like that." Danny blurts out.
"Oh for the love–I can't even be mad, i would say the same thing. But i told you it would be a bad idea! Do you see him?? Look how huge he is!" peter ranted and hoped that Danny could feel him disappointment.
The man in front of them is huge, built like a tank and wearing a leather jacket. He has black hair with some of the front part being white. He definitely knows how to fight.
The man crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "Why does this feel like deja vu?" He mutters. "Alright, wanna explain yourself, kid?"
Danny tries not to pout as he's called a kid, "...I just needed some money for some food." He says instead, hoping the man will take some pity.
The man stares at him, scrutinizing him and trying to come to some conclusion.
"What if he kills us?" Peter whispers.
"Welp, sorry pete but you would have erased yourself for nothing." Danny dryly replies as quiet as he can.
"Dude! Uncalled for."
"Alright, come on, follow me." The man suddenly says.
Danny jumps, his mouth dropping open "huh?"
"Food. I know a good place. The names' Jason, by the way." The man, Jason, simply says. He puts his hands in his jacket and starts heading in a direction.
"We're not actually following him, right? That's like, stranger danger one-oh-one and–nope we're just following him. That's great. That's cool. Lets just follow the guy we were stealing from."
Danny shrugged. "Free food."
Peter sighs and can only watch as Danny follows the guy. He would take control if he could, but if he forced a switch, that would only cause extreme dizziness, and it would be hard to explain their physical change, too. Peter and Danny still haven't figured out how to safely switch who is in control of the body. They just wake up and whoever is in control of the body is in control for the rest of the day, unless they're knocked out. Once, Danny was in control for three whole days.
Jason led to a fast food place called Bat Burger.
Once at the register, Jason tilted his head, "Order whatever you like and however much you like."
Danny and Peter are stunned hearing what Jason just said.
"However much I like?" Danny slowly repeated still trying to make sure he heard right.
"no way he's serious, right?"
"Yup, however much you like." Jason confirmed as he finished his order. "I'm using my old man's credit card anyway."
"...Alright, what do we want," Danny mutters and decides not to question Jason's odd decision. If they can order however much they want then they'll be able to take whatever they don't finish back to their little base, though he doubts they'll leave much.
Peter rattles off what his order, which Danny repeats and then he orders what he wants.
One thing Peter is grateful for, despite their circumstances, is that when he is stuck in his head, he can still taste whatever Danny is eating and vice versa.
The cashier stares in horror but then deeply sighs. They ring up their order, gives them their cups, and tell them to sit anywhere.
They grab their drinks and the two sit in the corner booth.
Jason places his hands on the table, "So, kid, what can i call ya?'
Danny jumps at the sudden question and stutters out, "Uh, our name is–I mean, my, my name is Danny."
The rest of the night goes by strangely but nicely. Jason asks one too many questions—about their non-existent home life which is nice—and that leads Danny to tell Jason to shove them, much to Peter's horror.
Danny does pretty much eat everything and as much as he wants to ask Jason about his strange ecto signature, he lets it go in favor of being left alone.
"That guy was weird. My spider sense didn't, you know, sense him." Peter admits, suspicion and weariness oozing from his voice.
Danny shrugs, "It's a big city. I doubt we'll run into him again."
\/\/\/\/
Peter luck strikes again.
If peter ever got the chance, he'll hang Danny up by his feet. He will find some way to neutralize his abilities and web him up.
"Hey, you're welcome to try, pete!" Danny says through his laughing.
In front of Peter is Jason, the man that fed them just a few weeks ago.
And is currently staring down at Peter with an intense stare.
Next to Jason is another man with tanned skin, black hair, and blue eyes. He's smiling widely, coming off as friendly.
"Do you two know each other?" The man tilted his head, trying to start a conversation.
"Uh, no, sorry, it's my first time seeing him...and you," Peter replies and looks down at the watches he's holding. He'd been told to fix them and the people they belonged too were loyal customers. He didn't think one of them would be Jason.
"Nah, i don't know 'em. He just looks familiar." Jason replies. He squints, scowling in thought. "You don't happen to have a twin do you? One with Black hair and blue eyes."
Peter wants to shrivel up and die.
Danny definitely isn't helping as he wheezes, laughing at Peter's misfortune.
Danny, what do I say?!
"Tell them yes and that we've been separated and you have been living with your uncle!"
By some miracle, Peter was able to sell his grief and ask Jason if he'd seen him. He's not sure how he did it since his lying pretty subpar most days. He was still baffled about lying to Aunt May for as long as he did.
"Oh, that's so sad," The man, Dick Grayson, stated with empathy in his eyes. "Why don't you file a missing person report? They could help..." He weakly says.
Jason sighs, placing a hand on his forehead. "Dick i swear to god..."
Peter stares baffled. Did this man not know Gotham police? How does he explain why going to the police is not a good idea, for one, the corruption, and two because Danny—by extension Peter as well—do not exist. So he cant file a missing person report.
"ACAB, bitch!"
"ACAB, bitch!" Peter blurts out the only thing in his mind and slaps a hand over his mouth. Danny's loud voice was the only thing on his mind. He couldn't think of anything else.
Danny was laughing hysterically about the situation Peter found himself in.
Dicks mouth dropped open, shocked by the sudden exclaim.
Jason begins to snicker which turns into a full blown belly aching laughter. He leaned on the counter and slapped Dick's shoulder.
"He–HAHAHH! Ohhh man. Kid I just met, you're incredible. heehe–" Jason erupted into another fit of laughter.
Peter stands in embarrassment and tired of this whole thing. He just wants the world to open up and swallow him. Saves him from the embarrassment.
"You're stuck with me Peter, whether you like it or not!" Danny exclaims through laughter.
At the very least, Peter isn't alone.

This is all i had running through my head. I cannot promise any part 2 or anything
Some notes:
Jason's personal bike and red hood bike are different. And obviously hard to find an exact model since they change with different iterations and, ya know, trademark law and all. The bike i mentioned is one iteration that seemed the most obvious since someone was able to name it.
I think the earliest spiderman gave peter Parker a bike. I haven't seen anyone put an exact name on it but, funnily enough, its also a Honda
I hope I did the characters justice <3

The emergency
A good number of members within the Justice League have children. Not all of those kids are biological or adopted but they are their kids nonetheless. Some of those kids are even old enough to be adult heroes of their own, but even then they are still their kids. And the other kids tend to take up heroism at a very young age to most people's chagrin. Although as shown by the original child hero, now going by Nightwing, it’s not as easy as telling the kids to stop.
It was learned through intense hardship that smothering the child heroes was just asking for trouble. Despite how much the older heroes wanted to stay close to their kids, it was seen as overbearing and a show of mistrust. They would act out with even less backup in retaliation, which would only bring even more stress.
So to satisfy the need for protection without stepping on any toes, two new emergency meeting signals were introduced.
One was for the kids to send off. Each one was gifted a small device that could be hidden in their person. The device had both a mic and a tracking chip that could be activated when they were in extreme danger. As soon as the device was active a signal would be sent to the league for an emergency distress signal with the details of who sent it. Due to an outcry from the kids, the device could not be activated by the guardian of the child. The mic and locator could only be activated from the device itself. It wasn’t nearly as protective as some of the more worried leaguers would like, but it was at least something.
The second signal was one that the leaguer with a kid in danger could activate. This signal could be activated with a single code into the communicators that every member owned. If the member who sent out the signal didn’t specify what kid was in danger, every member would receive a generalized notification of the emergency alert for one of the kids. This wasn’t ideal, but it was learned early on that the guardian of the child was often too distressed to make the code more complicated. It was best to leave it simple and answer questions at the emergency meeting.
Which was great in all, until someone who doesn’t have a child involved with heroics in their care sends off a general emergency.
In places all over the globe, an emergency meeting signal message was sent by Hal Jordan, one of the lanterns. He didn’t include what child was in danger in the signal, meaning that it could be any of the underaged heroes. And considering he didn’t have a child in his care, that made multiple members panic.
When was the last time they checked in with the kids in their care? Who was the one he was sending the code for? What happened to the child he had noticed was in danger? Why is he the one that noticed? Where were their kids? Who was in danger?
Because of the nebulous nature of the call, it didn’t take long for multiple heroes to find the nearest transport to the watchtower and tumble in. What they didn’t expect was the absolute haggard appearance of their friend. He was standing in the meeting room looking like the world had been destroyed before his very eyes. The way he sat without even cracking a sarcastic remark made multiple members pause.
“Hal?” Wonder Woman called, her face pinched in concern. “What has happened?”
The aforementioned member looked over who had already arrived before settling on her face. It was at that moment she knew that he was only looking so collected through willpower alone. This wasn’t just any child of the league, this was personal.
“My nephew Danny has been captured,” He began, sending a wave of different emotions circling the room. “I’ve been trying to find where they took him for a week now and I can’t get any leads. I need your help.”
The unsaid questions and emotions were nearly palpable. Multiple members turned to one another or stared with a million questions. Nobody had known that Hal even had a nephew named Danny. Sure he mentioned someone named Jason at times, but he never indicated anything else. The fact that he hadn’t mentioned him or the fact that he’d been apparently searching for a week was strange.
“And why are you only telling us now? Why did you wait so long?” Superman asked, speaking up the question that was on multiple minds.
A fire of anger curled in Hal's eyes. It was fierce and protective. It was a mixture of appalment for being questioned on his decision and fury for the reasons why he had to do it in the first place. He stepped forward towards the center table, slamming his palms down and leaning into it.
“Because any person that goes against the group will be declared an enemy of the United States. I’ve already had my account and housing connected to Green Lantern seized,” He explained with a deceptively calm tone. “I also needed to make sure that they didn’t have any connections with the Justice League. They have their agents everywhere.”
Unsurprisingly, Batman appeared from the gathered heroes from seemingly nowhere. Despite the feud between the two of them, the Bat was completely zeroed in on the situation. While he had a decent amount of distrust in the lantern, mainly because of the parallax incident, he could tell that the man was genuine. And the Bat always did have a blind spot for children.
“Explain,” Was all Batman said, staring Hal down.
The lantern in question looked at him with a grim face. This was it. Now or never.
“They’re called the Ghost Investigation Ward, or GIW for short. They hunt down and either exterminate or experiment on anyone they deem ectocontaminated or a ghost,” Hal started to explain, his hand curling on the table in frustration. “My brother Jack faked his death and ran off to be with another woman. Those fucks deemed my nephew as ectocontaminated and tried to take him from his home. He ran from his family so that they couldn’t be arrested for knowingly harboring an ecto entity. Told me that he remembered my face from a photo his dad tried to hide in the attic and sought me out.”
If the fire in his eyes were any stronger, they would probably become physical and burn down the room. It was undeniable that Hal Jordan was understandably completely pissed off. This situation was terrible from down to the very root.
“I tried to hide him but they somehow found him anyway. Now my civilian name is being heavily monitored and Green Lantern is being hunted down,” He finished his explanation. “If you join me in this, be prepared to lose everything.”
This was so much worse than anyone could’ve predicted.

Fenton’s right there—in the corner of the hallway, crowded between a row of dented lockers and his two ever-present shadows—the same as every other morning.
He’s still here—alive.
Dash swipes Fenton’s arm into a vice grip—he’s real; flesh and bone and blood that rushes to the surface of his skin, blossoming into patchy, mottled bruises. The sight of it has his hackles lowering—the white, crescent bite of blunt fingernails. His shoulders sag with each relief-filled breath. His grip loses strength and nearly falls to his side at the sight of the marks left behind by every single finger on his trembling right hand. The chill that runs up his spine whenever Fenton gets too close dissipates just a little, just enough for the faint trembling to cease.
Fenton is here—alive.
He has nothing to do with the bones buried beneath the twisting tree that had sprouted from nothing deep within the woods that lined the edges of Amity Park. He has nothing to do with the swaying branches that grow flowers the colour of Danny’s clear blue eyes, nor the roots that glow a sinister green as they coil their way around the carefully buried remains of a boy who had once been their age, laid to rest with a model rocket wound beneath one arm and a hazmat suit—charred and faded—tucked beneath the skull.
The flowers had held no scent and the swaying branches had made no sound, but its silvery leaves had offered shelter from the rain. Its gnarled trunk blocked the biting wind and its roots coiled protectively around the remains from which it had sprouted. The ground around it flourished, with moss carpeting the base of its trunk, growing healthy and vibrant, with mushrooms that grew in bioluminescent clumps that chased the shadows with a haunting glow.
It was a foreboding oasis not meant to be disturbed—a place that he and Kwan hadn’t meant to stumble upon.
But none of that mattered now. Not when Dash now knew for certain that Danny still cowered in the corners of Casper High’s crowded corridors. Now that he knew that the half-smudged writing childishly scrawled onto the base of the model rocket couldn't have possibly spelt out the name of the boy he'd known since his first day of school.
Not with the irrefutable proof seared onto Fenton's pale, freezing flesh.

Hey, @confused-they, this is for you and for everyone else who wanted more of this AU. Merry Christmas.
DPxDC Ring of Rage? More Like Ring of Engage [pt. 4]
[<- part 3 | additional notes ->]
[Written to 'Tantrum' by Ashnikko]
TW: mentioned mild gore (some inside parts become outside ones, nothing graphic)
Tim can't breathe.
Joker's mad laughter is ringing through the darkness of the warehouse, echoing in his head, the screeching sound straight out of nightmares. Hood should be nearby - as in, somewhere in this darkness along with him - but Tim can't think about that, his own maniacal giggles bubbling in the back of his throat, a grin tugging at his lips.
He has to get up. He has to stand, he has to fight, and it really shouldn't be this hard.
But he can't breathe.
Tim clutches his fingers on the fabric of his suit on the chest, distantly wondering if this is how Danny feels when he is more human than ghost. Probably not, he mentioned that breathing is only optional.
He really wants his boyfriend right now. His fiance. Whatever, he wants Danny, he wants his cold hands on his cheeks and the faint, humming purr of his core that Tim finds nice to fall asleep to, and-
Maybe later. He can't exactly summon him now, not in the middle of a fight, especially not in the middle of a fight with Joker of all people.
There's an angry growl somewhere to Tim's left, staticky through the voice-modulator. Then several sounds of gunshots and a gleeful, taunting yell of the madman.
Hold on.
Tim snaps his eyes open - not that anything changes, everything is still pitch-black around him - and blinks.
Why not?..
It's not like Danny is a civilian. Tim tends to pay little attention to the fact since the King of Infinite Realms doesn't hang out with the whole superhero convention on principle. But Tim is pretty sure he won't mind it this once.
Besides, Tim is so done with Joker that it's not even funny.
A few breathy chuckles escape his throat as he lets his body fully slump back on the floor and brings his left hand to his face, placing a quick kiss on the Ring through his glove. He doesn't need to do that, not really, but it's kind of a ritual at this point, and the gesture somehow makes him feel better.
"Danny," he whispers.
For a long moment, nothing happens.
Then, there's a soft, popping sound, and his beautiful boyfriend is floating right over him, faintly glowing and a little sleepy. Tim is momentarily distracted by his bare feet and pj pants with tiny rockets on them.
Danny yawns and tugs the hem of his t-shirt down as it starts to float. "Whas'sup," he mutters, rubbing his eyes and clearly not fully awake, and Tim's heart melts instantly. He loves Danny. He just... He loves him, okay? He loves that Danny didn't question his summons for a moment, he loves that he came even though he was obviously sleeping, and he loves that Danny is wearing a tee he stole from Tim.
Unfortunately, before he is able to get his shit back together, another sound of gunshot ripples through the air, and Danny startles, blinking himself awake and looking in the direction of it. Then, his eyebrows shoot up, and his mouth makes a soft 'O' shape before he turns back to Tim and tilts his head in question.
"You want me to deal with him? The clown, I mean, not your brother," he asks, and it's so casual and off-handed that Tim actually huffs a laugh.
"Sorry, I was just- I'm really tired of his ass," Tim should probably sit up, this is not a talk they should have while he is lying on the ground. On the other hand, Jason is somewhere out there, and he has guns and doesn't have a clear visual around him, so maybe Tim shouldn't sit up.
Danny hums, "Is that a yes?"
Tim just nods. He is pretty sure Danny can see him despite the darkness. "I promise it's a one-time thing, I don't plan on calling you every time one of local lunatics acts up. I just... I fucking can't with him," he admits with a defeated sigh. But, before he can spiral any further into the abyss of unworthiness, Danny's cold hands are cupping his cheeks, and his icy eyes are looking right into Tim's sky blue.
"Love, I don't mind getting rid of each and every one of your Rogues. Granted, it would probably fuck up the timeline, and Clocky would be mad, but I'd do it if you want me to, no questions asked." His voice is quiet, and Tim has never been more grateful for his domino mask, because he can feel his cheeks heating up and he doesn't want Danny to see the exact effect his words are causing.
"I- Okay," he quietly agrees, and then blinks, backtracking, "Wait, no, don't fuck up the timeline. Just deal with the laughing bitch this once, and that's it. We can handle the rest."
Danny is smiling at him in that adoring way Tim recognizes as 'I really want to kiss you, but it's not the time or place'. Then, he nods and lets go of Tim's cheeks, straightening up in the air, and his clothes shift all at once, like a magic trick.
Gone are the stretched out t-shirt and the pants with rocket ships. In their place, Danny's body is head to toe covered in stars and galaxies that hold the vague shape of armor, and there's a slightly shimmering, blueish-green translucent cape over one of his shoulders.
The Crown over his head, the sentient artifact much like the Ring on Tim's finger, appears from nowhere, and, after a brief pause - Tim swears it was debating on whether or not the situation is worth the effort - promptly sets itself on fire. Blue flames cast long shadows on Danny's, no, King's face, making him look older and his cheekbones sharper.
Before, the boy was only faintly glowing, and, evidently, the others present in the warehouse were too distracted to notice him.
But now, with the flaming Crown casting dancing shadows on the walls of the warehouse, it's really hard not to see the otherworldly being making an appearance.
"Holy fuck," Tim hears Hood's quiet, astonished voice, and almost cracks a grin.
Yeah, he wants to say, that's my boyfriend. Although he suspects he and Jason are having vastly different reactions to Danny's presence. Because Tim kind of wants to take all his words about dealing with Joker back and take Danny home, straight to bed.
...He is going to have to strangle Jason in his sleep if his reaction is similar. No, that's a wrong thought, this is so not the time for it.
"Who are you, flying glowstick?" Joker sounds rightfully pissed off by the interruption, "Does Batsy employ alien kids now?"
Danny chuckles, the starry freckles on his cheeks glowing brighter, "Okay, just because you compared me to an alien, I'm not going to completely erase you from this plane of existence."
Tim snaps his head up.
"Wait, no killing," he reminds, not because he actually cares but because B would throw a fit. Danny brushes him off with a wave of his hand.
"No worries, he'll stay alive," he smiles at Tim, and to everyone else, it probably looks like stuff of nightmares, sharp, pointy teeth and lips stretched out far beyond human capabilities. But Tim sees it for what it is: a face of mischief.
"Do I get a vote in this?" Jason's deadpan voice comes from somewhere on the other side of the warehouse at the same moment as Joker screeches in rage, "Who the fuck do you think-"
"Nope," Danny pops the 'p', and Tim is not sure if he is answering to Hood or refusing to listen to the clown's monolog by it. Maybe it's both. It's probably both.
The next moment, Danny is gone, disappeared from the place he was floating at, and Tim hears a wet, very unpleasant sound followed by Joker's scream of pain.
"You see this?" He hears Danny's nonchalant, unfazed voice above the clown's pained cries, "This is your rib, bitch- Hey, quit whining and listen to me, it's important."
There's a slap, a rustle, and a sound of ripping fabric, and Joker's voice becomes muffled, like someone put a gag in his mouth.
"You're like Adam now, you know, lacking one rib," Danny continues, "Only I'm not making you a girl out of this one, I'm pretty sure you don't deserve to reproduce. Anyway, going further down that metaphor, I'm the God almighty in this situation, so if you want to keep the rest of your ribs - and the rest of other things that are supposed to stay inside of you - to yourself, you gotta do a thing for me, okay?"
There's some muffled groans that Joker makes in response, then an enraged growl, a sound of a struggle, another slap, and then that same wet, disgusting squelch.
"Two ribs, wow, okay, you're really being difficult about this!" Danny sounds so innocently dumbstruck about it that Tim suppresses a laugh. "Are you listening now?" There's a quiet, choking wheeze that answers him, and Danny sounds quite pleased when he says, "Great."
Tim debates if he should look. He doesn't exactly want to since the sounds provide enough context, but it might be somewhat cathartic for him.
And then the air around him inexplicably shifts, becoming cold and oppressive, weighting Tim down like a heavy blanket and pushing him into the floor. The dancing shadows and the blue light of flames on the walls twist and churn, like taking aim, and Tim doesn't know what Danny looks like right now but he knows he is as far from human as possible, his voice coming with a staticky, echoing whisper, a threatening hiss slithering inside Tim's ears.
"Play your little games all you want, Fallen Jester, but know that you can not win. The punchline to your joke is long overdue, and your soul has belonged to me for quite some time now," his words are cold and uncaring, and in all the time Tim has known his boyfriend, he has never heard him speak like this: with a sense of lazy power, like he is only humoring the people around him.
Like they mean nothing to him.
"I will not kill you, or at least not here and now. My Guiding Star doesn't want to see my hands dirty with your filthy remains. Besides, death is only a moment, and you don't deserve only a moment of suffering," he huffs a short, humorless chuckle, "But, luckily, I am the Eyes of the Universe, the Titan's Bane, the King of the Dead, and everyone will meet me once their eyes fall shut for the last time," there's a smile in his voice now, full of cold and merciless anticipation. Tim feels a shiver run down his spine.
"So just you wait, Jester, and I will meet you on the other side. Then we'll see how whatever is left of your soul is going to spend an eternity."
Tim's ears are ringing with the pure, somehow gleeful hatred that laces those last words. He didn't know he could literally taste the disgust and the promise of pain, and yet, here he is, with a hint of something sour on his tongue.
And then, the heavy, weighted air that has been charged with power is lifted, the shadows and bright blue lights are all gone, and Danny, wearing his pj's and smiling, is standing over him. His feet are planted on the ground for once, and the Crown is gone without a trace, but his t-shirt is still trying to float up. The boy tugs it down again, offering a hand to Tim.
"Wanna go out for a burger since I'm already here in Gotham?"
Tim had never breathed easier in his life. He laughs a little and reaches up, taking his beautifully unhinged boyfriend's hand and standing up.
"I thought you'd never ask."

DCxDP Persephone 2.0
(Somehow, even when I come up with an angsty scenario it turns into zany comedy hijinks. Send help.)
Cassie, Tim, Kon and Bart are hanging out, just chilling, when a glowing green minotaur pops out of nowhere and yoinks Wonder Girl into another dimension.
Obviously, Cassie is so not down with the whole kidnapping thing, so she starts beating up all the Greek mythological monsters in sight. Soon enough, Pandora pops out of the woodwork and orders everyone to stand down.
Pandora: *sigh* I ordered you to escort her here, not drag her kicking and screaming. Ugh, it's impossible to hire competent help these days. Come child, we have much to discuss.
Cassie: Uh, it's an honor to meet you ma'am, but why am I here?
Pandora: It's quite complicated I'm afraid. To make a long story short, a few years ago the tyrannical ghost king was defeated by a young ghost hero, and by right of conquest the crown passed to him. However, since he has not yet reached the age of majority a regency council was put in place until he is old enough to be formally crowned.
Cassie: What does that have to do with me?
Pandora: You see, your father, Zeus, wishes to make an alliance with this new power...
Cassie: Oh no
Pandora: ...and so he has offered your hand in marriage to the young prince, as he once did Persephone's to Hades.
Cassie: That fucking asshole!
Pandora: And the regency council has accepted on the prince's behalf.
Cassie: *cracks knuckles* So, what's your opinion on patricide?
***
When Cassie meets Danny, she fully expects him to be some pompous asshole.
Danny: I am so fucking sorry!
Cassie: Huh?
Danny: *wrings hands* I'm sorry you got dragged into this mess! This was not my idea! But the council are a bunch of stuck-up jerks who think this is for the good of the realm and...
Cassie: So the wedding is off?
Danny: Well... unfortunately Clockwork is the one who floated the idea? And he only gets directly involved if it's like, end of the world kind of stuff...
Cassie: Who's Clockwork?
Danny: The Master of Time. He uh, helped me prevent a potential future where my soul got merged with that of my arch-nemesis and I miiiight have wiped out all life on Earth. But uh, that timeline is gone and you don't have to worry about it!
Cassie, muttering: Chronos?
Danny: So I think we might be stuck with each other, unless you have an idea on how to get out of this?
Cassie: Well my friends are bound to come rescue me, so...
Danny: Stall?
Cassie: Stall.
Queen Dora, popping in with a dozen handmaidens, a measuring tape and hundreds of dress and fabric samples: ~ Who's ready for a makeover? ~
Cassie: Oh gods just kill me now
***
Cassie and Danny both go full Bridezilla in an effort to delay the wedding, nitpicking everything from the clothes to the flower arrangements.
Cassie: I am not wearing some poofy monstrosity to my wedding. I want a tux! If anyone's gonna wear a dress it's gonna be him.
Danny, posing in front of a mirror: What do you think, can I pull off a mermaid cut?
***
Eventually, they can stall no more and the day of the wedding arrives. Zeus is there to give her away as the father of the bride. Cassie tries to stab him with the cake topper.
The wedding proceeds, they are standing in front of the Observant who is officiating. Cassie is glaring murderously at Zeus. Danny just looks resigned. Suddenly, there's a loud screech and a bang. The team has arrived to crash the party...!
...by literally crash landing the stolen Specter Speeder on top of Zeus.
*smash cut to a flashback of Tim reading the Drs Fentons' research and breaking into Fentonworks*
Tim, Kon and Bart pop out of the smoking wreckage.
Tim: We object!
Observant, outraged: On what grounds?!
Kon: Wonder Girl can't marry the ghost prince, because... because I'm marrying her!
Tim and Bart: Wait what?
Danny: Oh thank fuck *rips off his veil and dress and chucks it at the Observant* Cassie, do you want to marry Superboy?
Cassie: I do!
Danny: Then by the power vested in me by the Crown and Ring, I now pronounce you Super and Wonder. You may kiss the bride or whatever.
Cassie dip kisses Kon in front of the assembled ghost citizenry. Tim and Danny disappear into a broom closet during the wedding reception. Bart demolishes like 90% of the buffet by himself.
***
In a dark room, Clockwork is repeatedly watching Zeus get pancaked in slow motion and chuckles to himself.

fight at first sight (1)
If he’s putting it plainly, Jason’s on his way to a mechanic.
A new mechanic, too, one who had only recently set up shop on the outskirts of Crime Alley. It’s a good location, just far enough from the heart of the alley to attract typical gothamites, while still offering services to Jason’s people. From what he’s heard, the mechanic even knows what he’s doing.
And Jason has a guy. Fuck, he’s known Rue since before he died, and he doesn’t feel the need to find anyone new. But one of Rue’s partners is sick and he’s taking time off to take care of them – luxury of running your own business, he supposes – and damn it, Jason was raised by Bruce.
There’s a new variable in Crime Alley, and it’s his job to know if there’s a threat. And a newcomer, especially one starting to make connections – could very well become a threat.
So, yeah.
If Jason’s keeping it simple, he’s on his way to check out a new mechanic shop, get his civilian bike fixed, and introduce himself to the new resident.
If he’s trying to be brutally honest, and he usually is, Jason is making sure he doesn’t need to spend tonight disposing of evidence after putting a bullet through a man’s skull.
No big deal.
One of the girls told him that Nightingale’s is open later at night. It’s a strange choice, one that furthers Jason’s suspicions, but it’s convenient enough. God knows that there are weirder shops in Gotham, or even just around the alley. Even Rue’s shop is appointment based, though, he’d get a lot more customers if it wasn’t.
Now’s not the time, Jason thinks, shaking his head. Compare the eccentric mechanics after making sure there’s no problem.
On the outside, there’s nothing strange about Nightingale’s. The windows and door are tinted dark enough that he can’t see through to the inside, and as he hoped, the neon sign above the door reads open.
The inside-
Well, the inside is an absolute mess..

I’m being lazy and didn’t proofread this so i’m sorry if it’s not my best, but I wanted Danny and Bart to vibe. Hop y’all still like it. Maybe i’ll post it on ao3 at some point
Danny only really got to see skies like this once a year.
In the deep woods, surrounded by the singing of nocturnal life happening around him it was easy to look up to the stars and get lost in thought. It was one of his favorite parts of camping.
Technically speaking the Fentons didn’t go camping infrequently, often being dragged all over the midwest by his parents looking for some (probably fake) ghost related thing they read about on an online forum. On those trips Danny and Jazz never had any fun. Danny narrowly avoided his parent’s newest contraptions and Jazz mostly tucked herself into the GAV to read. There wasn’t much in the way of family bonding or peaceful moments on those trips.
But once a summer they went on a real camping trip. At the beginning of August they packed up the GAV and took the scenic drive to the same wooded valley in Tennessee where his parents had gone for their honeymoon. Not many would go survivalist camping for a honeymoon, but Jack and Maddie were just cool like that. Danny always finds himself chuckling at that. Anyway, they’d started this tradition around the time when Danny was 8, once he and Jazz were old enough. They’d stay for a whole week. It was always Danny’s favorite week of the year, the one week where his parents acted like they did before the portal had opened.
Normal activities on the trip usually included fishing with Dad while Jazz and Mom swam, going on hikes, and practicing survivalist skills. They sang songs by the fire, told scary stories, and made s'mores. And once the darkest part of night hit Danny would wake up Jazz and make her watch the stars with him from a clearing about half a mile from the campsite.
It was his favorite spot in the whole world, that clearing no more than a hundred or so yards across where a couple boulders sat, smoothed from years of rain and wind. He could feel the grass tickling his ankles from the run there and hear Jazz yelling something about ticks every time he thought of it. It was so quiet there, never truly silent with the sounds of the woods around them, but quiet in that comforting song of night.
The memories brought a quiet smile to his face as his eyes traced Ursa Major from atop his boulder. His trance like focus was interrupted by a small sigh as the soft thud of a head covered in a thick mop of hair fell onto his shoulder. Sitting back to back was the boy he’d met here what felt like forever and a half ago, but was really more like 5ish years ago when they were both 14.
Danny had heard Bart Allen before he understood what his eyes were seeing. A fast talking blur of red winding between trees faster than he could follow. He’d gone invisible when he first heard the odd sound reverberating through the woods, defenses up, was this going to be yet another thing that the portal took from him? But no, when the blur slowed down a bit (never stilled, but slowed) it was just another kid that looked about his age who was about 20% hair complaining about his uncle and a stupid training excursion. His face was kinda scrunched up in a funny way, clearly frustrated and concentrated. Another kid who had been running nearly fast enough to break the sound barrier… So Danny watched him continue running and complaining for probably about 15 minutes before he decided that this probably wasn’t ghost related after the dude clipped his arm on a tree and shouted some sort of unfamiliar expletive.
Not yet dropping invisibility, Danny sort of whisper shouted a ‘hello?’ In the other boy’s direction.
The mystery boy jumped like he’d stepped on a nail, whipping his head around to look for anyone and yelling ‘What the sprock!?’
Danny had felt himself shocked out of invisibility and followed up by asking ‘That dude with the elf ears from Star Trek?’
Bart just stared him dead in the eyes like anything about that had been a normal interaction and went ‘Who?’
Really it all spiraled from there. The boys burst into laughter and introduced themselves, killing any tension. Bart was the first other kid with powers he’d met, the first kid who didn’t look at Danny like he was weird. Bart explained that he was here with his uncle Max to train using his speed in cramped environments with lots of obstacles. He hated it, it was boring and he was far away from his friends and video games. Danny in turn told Bart about the yearly vacation to which the boy responded ‘Oh that’s so crash!’ It took Danny a minute to get used to Bart’s weird slang.
They talked late into the night, trading stories about rogues and adventurers, but also about school and their friends. Danny didn’t tell Bart about his accident, but Bart didn’t tell Danny about being from the future yet either, so it was even. They stayed surface level. They actually ended up talking so long that Jazz came trudging through the woods to find Danny, worried that he’d been kidnapped or killed or something. That marked the end of their first night getting to know each other, Danny heading back to camp with Jazz. Every night for the rest of that week though, they met at the boulder and hung out.
They compared powers (Bart was super jealous that Danny could fly, he loves flying) and talked about their hobbies. Danny even got Bart to sit for a little bit each night to stargaze with him. Bart was bad at sitting still, but Danny telling him the stories behind his favorite constellations seemed to help soothe him for at least a little while.
At the end of the week, the Fenton’s were getting ready to go back to Amity Park, Danny’s Dad packing the car while his Mom checked the routes home. Danny met Bart in the clearing one last time and they exchanged phone numbers, promising to keep in touch.
It wasn’t an empty promise, they did text when they could, but both of them living the hero life was busy. Between Danny juggling Amity Park basically on his own and Bart having both Manchester and Young Justice, they didn’t have a lot of time to talk. Small chats, maybe twice a month. Playing video games together once in a blue moon. It was infrequent, but it was nice when they got the chance.
Before he knew it that first week of August had rolled around again and they were headed back to Tennessee. It had been a long year, and Danny was more than excited for some time away (Sam, Tucker, & Val could hold down the fort for a week anyway).
Danny was excited to see his favorite spot again, to gaze upon the cosmos and see the light dance across the skies. But there was an unexpected benefit, perched atop his boulder, fingers tapping and legs swinging, was Bart. The moment he saw Danny he threw up a Star Trek peace sign and Danny knew it’d be a great week.
Since then, every year without fail, Danny and Bart have seen each other once a year for this trip. They caught up on everything, shared some secrets they never thought they would and strangely enough, they found someone who understood. As much as he loved his friends, Danny felt mostly isolated in his ghostliness. And while Bart had more of a community, he didn’t really feel like people understood him.
Danny revealed his transformation, eventually divulged the lab accident, and even discussed Dan and Dani with Bart. He told Bart how he felt so isolated from humanity the more he slowly changed. Bart met him at his level every time. He told Danny that he felt like no one would ever meet him at his speed like Max did before he went missing, that as much as he loved his other YJ friends part of him worried they just put up with him because he was useful. He shared his conflicting feelings about his own clone, Thad, and how weird it was to adjust to the 21st century.
Both boys related in the fact that neither really felt human enough to belong, but with each other it was easier. Danny’s core understood Bart’s vibrations, and Bart understood Danny’s fear of human experimentation first hand.
Of course there were lighter moments too. Danny told Bart how Clockwork always complained about the Flashes meddling with time, and Bart told Danny all the hilarious places he’d found Rob trying to nap when he thought no one was paying attention. They weren’t heroes responsible for the world here, they were just two dumb teenagers sitting on a big rock, looking up at the sky and finding comfort in a like mind.
“Yo, Danny. You in there?”
He found himself snapped from his thoughts once again by the speedster at his back. Why was he feeling so nostalgic anyway? Weird ass exposition…
He leaned his head back onto Bart’s shoulder, mirroring the other. “Yah, sorry. Just thinkin.”
“Oof, try not to hurt yourself bro.” Danny shifted his eyes from the stars, finding a smirking freckled face with golden eyes meeting his own, wreathed in auburn hair. Bart had a slight accent that transfixed Danny. It wasn’t because he lived in Alabama either, it was that he was from the future. His voice lilted and vibrated in a way that was mesmerizing when he put emotion in his words.
“Shut up dude,” Danny scoffed, playfully shoving back against Bart, who squawked in surprise. Bart shoved back against Danny in retaliation and they both chuckled. “What’s up?”
“I’m zoning out, but I wanna keep watching the stars with you. Tell me a story so I can stay engaged.” Bart met his eyes earnestly. The speedster had trouble keeping his focus on one thing, which Danny could totally relate to. If space wasn’t his one of his obsessions he’d probably be strugglin too. But ADHD be damned, Bart tried to do this with him, to take interest in the things he loved unironically and wholeheartedly.
Danny could hear Bart’s feet tapping faster than an Olympic sprinter as he thought. “How about Hercules? And no, not the Disney movie Bart.” The speedster’s mouth closed almost as quickly as he’d opened it, falling back into that easy impish smile.
“Sounds good to me.” Bart responded in a sing song kinda voice, fingers tap dancing atop his knees.
Danny had probably told Bart the stories of all the constellations in this sky over the years, but he’d do it again hundreds of times for him. He’d quickly figured out that Bart always responded best to casual conversational stories rather than monologuing. He’d only complained so many times about his cousin wally bossing him around before he put two n two together. He could relate, Danny much preferred Sam’s explanations of lit to Mr. Lancer’s lectures.
Hercules wasn’t exactly one of Danny’s favorite heroes though. The fall from heroics to madness always hit him hard. If even someone like that couldn’t keep himself from hurting the ones he loved…
Danny paused the story, taking a stuttering breath. It felt stupid that even after all this time he was still afraid of turning into Dan. He knew it was illogical, he just wished his brain would figure that out too. Instead here he was, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders in the one place he was supposed to feel light and free, throat suddenly a little tight remembering his family stuck to a reactor about to blow.
A soft hand was on his forearm, rubbing it lightly, and Bart’s lilting voice whispered in his ear. “Hey, hey, it’s alright remember?” This wasn’t the first time one of them had helped to soothe the other. “You worried about Dan? Grife, I should let you stop telling this type of story, I always forget it triggers you…” It wasn’t even the first time this particular scenario had occurred. Danny tried to focus on his friends voice instead of the red, burning eyes in his mind.
“I’m here dude, remember? Breathe. We talked about this. If I’m here, it means you can’t have destroyed the future. As long as I’m here Dan will never happen. Not that you’d destroy the world without good reason anyway, I’d probably have your back if you decided to. Could definitely get Rob, Kon, and Cassie on our side. Oh, sorry, rambling.” Bart muttered to himself quietly at super speed before shaking his head and refocusing. He turned from their back-to-back position and wrapped himself around Danny. It probably looked kinda funny from an outside perspective. Danny, who’d grew into his Dad’s height being basically big spooned by Bart’s 5’4” ass.
The thought was enough to shock Danny into a bit of laughter, pulling air back into his lungs. He felt bart smile into his upper back at the nape of his neck. “There ya go dude, breathing is super crash. Can’t laugh if you don’t breathe and that’d suck because I’m hilarious.”
Danny let himself unwind, leaning back into Bart as embarrassment flooded him. He buried his face in his hands and groaned, “Duuude, I’m so sorry. I feel like an idiot.”
Bart hooked his chin over Danny’s shoulder before responding. “It’s chill dude. Like Carol tells me, ‘emotions ain’t logical.’ Besides you’ve done the same for me.”
“Yeah, I know… still though.” Like bart had said, they’d talked about this before. Danny liked Bart for a lot of reasons, but one of the most selfish was the reason Bart had supplied. For him to come back from the 31st century, Dan couldn’t have razed the earth. There was a deep comfort in truly solid proof that he wouldn’t burn it all down in the end.
“Nope. No excuses.” Bart started braiding bits of Danny’s hair with dexterous prestige. “You’re too smart to be that dumb.”
Pff, what a wordsmith. “You wanna hear a different story?”
“Only if you’re up to it.”
A smile found its way onto Danny’s face. His eyes traveled skyward again as he set his sights. “Lets try Ophiuchis.”

A Taste for It
When Danny's ghost half starts to change him, both in mind and body, he's left with two choices. Run or die.
For the Prompts: Danny starts to change into something a bit more monstrous. Your choice on what changes, if both forms or just his ghost form, and why it’s happening. Soft body horror encouraged but not required. {from @echoghost1}, Danny Fenton is starting to feel dark impulses. He has extreme cravings. He can swear he has new instincts. The drive to fulfill these darker urges is pushing him closer and closer to the point of no return. Will he be strong enough to overcome them, or completely fall to the temptations turning him into something else..? {from @littlebadger}, and Danny on the run. What will he do? {from @amabsis}
Read Also on AO3
[Warnings for gore, body horror, and cannibalism]
It started with a toothache just after Halloween.
Easy enough to ignore. Danny figured he'd just had too much candy and spent a little extra time brushing his teeth to make up for all the Mars Bars. It wasn't until a week later that he realized his sore teeth were growing longer, sharper. They were so distracting that he didn't even notice at first when his pupils started to change, their shape warping like a poorly constructed clay pot collapsing on a pottery wheel.
When he went out in his ghost form, and children screamed in terror at his too-sharp, too-wide smile, his face splitting open and fangs glinting with an ectoplasmic glow, he could no longer deny what was happening. That he was changing.
He did his best to hide it when it was just physical changes. When his joints became more of a suggestion than a rule, resulting in an uncanny shift in the way he moved, he started wearing looser clothes to hide it. Makeup stolen from his mother was sufficient to hide the way his veins had started to glow green under his skin. And it was enough to keep his hood up when his ears began to stretch to a point and then split.
In his ghost form, there was no hiding the way his body changed. In fact, the changes were greater and more pronounced. His spectral form developed many eyes and mouths and teeth in unseemly places. Wisps and tendrils emanated from him and enshrouded him. When he moved, parts of his body would split or tear and reform, shattering and repairing themselves moment by moment.
At least he was used to people fearing him already. There was no comforting anybody when he looked like a walking nightmare.
Worse still than the physical changes, a few weeks after they started developing, he began to feel dark impulses. Violent urges and... extreme cravings.
Even though he knew these instincts were new and wrong, and he didn't truly want to indulge them, they were very difficult to resist. No matter how much he fought them, no matter how much they repulsed him, he couldn't make them go away.
Tearing Spectra apart had been an accident. She was one of his more powerful and dangerous foes, she he didn't hold back—but he hadn't known what not holding back would result in when he didn't even know his own body anymore.
Partaking in her ectoplasm, consuming it through his many mouths as it splattered across his skin and painted him a sickly, luminescent green... that had been a moment of weakness. Those new, dark impulses won out, and he just couldn't help himself.
After that, he knew there was no way he could keep going the way he had been.
That violent, cannibalistic display had lost him the few remaining supporters he'd had, and the sentiment that ghosts were inherently evil and dangerous pervaded the city of Amity Park. His parents, the Guys in White, independent ghost hunters and ghost hunting groups, even random civilians with a little too much gumption were all up in arms, demanding Danny Phantom's head.
Danny seriously considered turning himself over to them. He hadn't meant to go that far, and he didn't want to hurt anyone else, human or ghost. After the incident with Spectra, his dark urges grew worse. One indulgence seemed to have emboldened them. He didn't want to acknowledge, let alone admit it, but his cravings had expanded. The taste of ectoplasm had only made him more rapacious, and he couldn't help wondering if blood would do the same.
In the end, though, his survival instincts made the choice for him. Whatever else he was—and he didn't even know anymore, really—he was still at least somewhat human. As much as he didn't want to hurt anyone, he didn't want to be dissected even more.
So he ran.
Without so much as a goodbye, he packed a bag and skipped town, heading east. He had know idea where he was going or what he would do when he got there.
In his heart and his head, he hoped against hope that he could control himself. However he looked, he didn't want to become a monster. But in the pit of his stomach he hungered. His mouth watered. Who knew how long his willpower would last against his ravenous appetite.

"jealousy is a green eyed monster" danny IS the green eyed monster. sam and tucker tease him for this; he tends to exhibit a pattern of jealousy/wishing to fit in/etc. one day jazz is too busy for him (new friend who is suspiciously little sister shaped) and ofc danny is annoyed. sam goes "wow danny, jealousy really is a green eyed monster." he responds with "I am not jealous and i am not a monster!" the next day theres a ghost terrorizing the city and the ghost is hurting the object of danny's jealousy. He gets called to crime and hes annoyed and scared and oh. he spots the faux sister about to get torn apart and he stays in the air, hovering longer than he'd like admit. she gets hurt and danny feels disgusted. He let this happen. This is his fault. He let his fucked up feelings get the better of him and now he's the monster. He kills the ghost. he doesnt thermos, he kills. He kills bloody and violent and part of him wishes that he were killing himself instead. In the aftermath of it all, the wounded girl being rushed to the hospital, he sits in the guts of the ghost. he sees jazz climbing into the ambulance and he laughs to himself. "jealousy is a green eyed monster."
