In my wait au, all the future turtles like. Settle down and get jobs and stuff. They did their time now they wanna relax and have mundane worries.

Future guys:

Raph- becomes a middle school teacher in the undercity. Before he gets his memories back, he volunteers on weekends. And gets married and divorced. After he gets his memories back, eventually, he adopts some kids, so his weekends get busier.

Donnie- starts his own tech company, and starts making and innovating prosthetics. (Im also considering making him enter a polycule with Kendra's and Jase's parents because it would be SO funny to me but idk jury's still out on that one.)

Mikey- opens a fusion craft store/tattoo parlor. I dont totally know how this would work but he does it.

Cassandra and Leo- take over the Lou Jitsu School on Ninjutsu and start running it. Cassandra specifically works on like expansion and opening new locations while Leo is just happy to train the next generation.

April- I was going to say news reporter, but tbh? I don't think thats a dream she can go back to, after everything that happened to her. Its the dream of an April that died long before April actually died.

I think she bounces around alot of stuff for a while, and lands on studying magic and eventually opening a potion shop in the undercity.

Casey jr.- I think he sticks with the present turtles and keeps helping them be heros. I dont think he particularly knows how to slow down, but i also dont think he wants to. As he gets older, eventually he gets a job working part time with a mechanic. Their name is Car Engine and they start dating Mikey on and off again

Present guys:

Unlike the future turtles, these guys dont retire, so they are still doing heroing and as such cant really open and run their own businesses. But they do get some downtime, so this is what they do with it.

Donnie: I think he takes a bunch of online college classes and gets a degree and starts like. Doing remote work for Nasa. Why would nasa accept donnies strange and unpredictable schedule? Its simply the price they pay for his intellect

Raph: Helps out at the school with Future!Casey and Future!Leo. He also volunteers every once in a while

Mikey: becomes an influencer :(

Leo: tries to become an influencer :(

Okay but actually

Mikey: Does freelance art online, and does graffiti art. Also pursues an online degree in art

Leo: okay he actually does try to become an influencer for a bit, but after that falls through he bounces around a couple things for a while.

Starts doing college classes to become a veterinarian, drops out. Helps out at the lou jitsu school for a bit, but has to stop due to his injuries during the krang invasion. I think he ends the story still figuring himself out, which is okay. Normalize not knowing what you want! He does join an improv club though.

Also meets a particular rabbit yokai who works at run of the mill pizza and they start dating 👀 👀 👀

Cassandra: Starts doing work to help provide opportunities to former convicts and stuff. Specifically, she works with the future guys to get them jobs.

April: she becomes a news reporter. Just because it wasnt what future april wants anymore doesnt mean its not what present april wants.

Lately I've come to the conclusion that I am apparently a fan of the "person from the future goes back in time to prevent the apocalypse" trope lmao. I'm pretty sure I already compared CJ to Silver at some point, and TSAU!Leo being a fan of the Sonic franchise would definitely make that comparison. Aside from that I think Donnie would be a Terminator fan because of the whole "evil AI and robots rule the world" thing, and Casey would be a fan of Dragon Ball because it's about a bunch of buff characters fighting and yelling a lot.

Then that got me thinking about how Raph would probably also like Dragon Ball, and that it would be cute if it was specifially Casey that introduced him to the series in the first place. It would also be fucking hilarious if the plan of sending CJ back in time at least partially was inspired by DBZ of all things so that's canon to the AU now hell yeah

Bruce, running in the room, panicked: what happened?

Future Dick crashes into Bruce, desperately clinging to him. Dick’s heart sinks to the pit of his stomach.

Damian, fearfully, instantly understanding what the reaction meant: richard, get up. stop bothering baba.

Jason, all amusement gone: stop playing around, dickhead.

Tim, teary-eyed: it’s not true…

Cass, shaking her head: no. no!

Bruce, slowly realizing what was happening, hugs Future Dick back: oh, sweetheart

Cass is face blind, not like oh she’s bad at remembering faces but in an actual cannot for the life of her know who she’s looking at kinda way. Instead of faces she uses context clues, body language, and voices to tell who she’s interacting with. She’s gotten pretty good at it each of her family members having an obvious tell that it’s them. Some of them include how Dick always has blue incorporated into his outfit. Jason always smells slightly of gun powder and cigarettes. Tim’s posture is so bad Cass can tell it’s him from a mile away. Damian has green eyes, Steph has blonde hair, Babs has red hair. Cass wishes all the boys had different colored hair, as it would simply make her life a lot easier.

The face blindness really doesn’t impare her abilities during patrol cause all of the Gotham rogues and heroes wear such dramatic outfits Cass doesn’t need to see their face to know who they are.

Unfortunately problems often arise when she’s in civilian form,

Cass: *at starbucks*

Dick: oh my god Cass! is that you?

Cass: *confused but polite* hello.

Dick: hey, how’s your day been?

Cass: *is unsure why this random guy is talking to her but once again polite* good.

Dick: *confused on why his sister is acting weird*...that’s good.

Cass: *grabbing her order and attempting to leave.*

Dick: Wait don’t you want a ride back to the manor?

Cass: No. *rushing away and is very uncomfortable.*

Cass: *halfway down the street, realizing she’s heard that voice before, immediately pulling out her phone*

Dick: Hello?

Cass: Starbucks?

Dick: Yea..

Jason: *recently dyed his white streak black cause he was feeling insecure about it*

Cass: *stands next to no streak Jason sitting at the batcomputer* Bruce?

Bruce: *brings Clark to the manor, they’re both in civilian clothing looking identical.*

Cass: No metas, too confusing.

some batgirls thoughts. i really enjoyed the 2020 (?) batgirls run where they live in a warehouse together and Babs uses a cane and Cass gets really into Poe and Steph wears just some of the best outfits ever. SO. my civvies designs, some theoretical winter costumes, and my desperate attempt to merge their 400 different costumes into two coherent ones. like seriously it seems like 90s steph changed her costume every other day.

rewatching Deadpool and Wolverine and I love this scene in particular because it shows how Charles’ love transcends through time and space, even after all these years. He would have torn a hole in the universe to bring Cassandra home.
