Note
this is non comic or OSP related, so sorry if i'm overstepping, but do you have any advice for someone that wants to move/exercise more but is utterly unmotivated?(not exercise for muscles, just movement for the sake of movement)
Honestly? Think of something physically demanding you want to be able to do. Stuff like hiking and/or climbing rough terrain, running free with the wind in your hair, swordfighting, stunt falls, sick metal gear combat rolls - anything that has ever made you sit up and think "I wish I could do that!" Once you reframe movement and exercise as a way to make your body capable of more fun things, it becomes a lot easier to stay motivated.

What I did today
caught up on some sleep by sleeping more than nine hours but still waking up by eight-thirty
went on a long hike with my dad
repeated aloud for my botany exam
harvested yarrow at high altitude for teas (at that elevation it contains more secondary metabolites and therefore more active compounds)
did some gardening
studied the secondary metabolites of Gynostemma pentaphyllum on human health
[photos are mine]

reasons to work out that aren't for the way you look🌷🎧🧘🏽‍♀️🎀
working out has so many benefits, but can quickly become unhealthy if you don’t have the right mindset about moving your body. here’s some reasons to work out that aren’t about changing your body:
to improve your self-discipline
to help your mental health
to make yourself stronger
to sleep better
to feel good
to improve your heart health
to improve your consistency
your body does so much for you, and it deserves to be treated well! you most likely will have heart the phrase “your body is a temple”, but it’s true! move your body in different ways, whether it be walking, pilates, home workouts, running, gym workouts or dance, it will do you good!
if you don’t like exercising, my biggest piece of advice is to try new things! for example, i’ve always been good at 100m sprint, so last summer i decided to try running longer distances. i found it really hard and i didn’t enjoy it, so i was unmotivated to do it. so instead of forcing myself to continue, i found other ways to do my cardio, my favourite being dance, whether it’s a just dance workout or dancing in my room to my favourite songs.
finding something you enjoy doing makes it easier to start exercising and to be consistent! hope this helps <3

Throwback to that October day in Switzerland when I ran from work straight to the train station so I could catch the earliest possible train and hike to my favorite mountain lake and get back before dark.
I was in such a rush that I did not remember to leave the leftover boiled egg I had with me in the fridge at the workplace.
I took a boiled egg for a hike.

The Massive Benefits of Morning Aerobic Exercise
A Focus on Hiking
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Abstract
Aerobic exercises, such as hiking, provide a multitude of health benefits that contribute to overall well-being. This article explores the physiological, psychological, and social advantages of engaging in morning aerobic activities, with a specific focus on hiking. Through a review of current scientific literature, the benefits are detailed, illustrating how this form of exercise can enhance physical health, mental clarity, and social connections.
Introduction
Aerobic exercises, characterized by sustained and rhythmic physical activity, play a crucial role in maintaining and improving health. Hiking, a popular form of aerobic exercise, combines the benefits of physical activity with the enjoyment of nature. Morning exercise, in particular, has been shown to yield unique benefits due to its alignment with the body's natural rhythms and the environment's characteristics at this time.
Physiological Benefits
1. Cardiovascular Health
Aerobic exercises such as hiking are known to improve cardiovascular health. Regular participation in hiking can lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, and enhance heart function. Studies have shown that consistent aerobic exercise reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke by improving the efficiency of the cardiovascular system.
2. Weight Management
Engaging in aerobic exercise in the morning can kickstart metabolism, aiding in weight management and fat loss. Morning exercise increases the resting metabolic rate, allowing the body to burn calories more efficiently throughout the day. This is particularly beneficial for individuals aiming to maintain or reduce their body weight.
3. Musculoskeletal Health
Hiking strengthens muscles, improves joint health, and increases bone density. The varied terrain encountered during a hike engages different muscle groups, enhancing overall muscular strength and flexibility. Additionally, weight-bearing exercises like hiking are essential for maintaining bone health and preventing osteoporosis.
4. Enhanced Immune Function
Regular aerobic exercise has been linked to a stronger immune system. Morning hiking can boost the body's immune response, making it more effective at warding off illnesses and infections. This effect is partly due to the increase in circulation and the body's ability to mobilize immune cells during physical activity.
Psychological Benefits
1. Mental Clarity and Cognitive Function
Morning exercise has been associated with improved cognitive function and mental clarity. Engaging in aerobic activities like hiking increases blood flow to the brain, promoting the growth of new neural connections and improving memory and concentration. This can lead to enhanced productivity and cognitive performance throughout the day.
2. Stress Reduction and Mood Enhancement
Aerobic exercise stimulates the release of endorphins, known as the body's natural mood lifters. Hiking in the morning, in particular, can reduce stress levels and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. The combination of physical activity and exposure to natural environments has a synergistic effect on improving mood and overall mental health.
Social Benefits
1. Social Interaction and Community Engagement
Hiking can be a social activity that fosters interaction and connection with others. Morning hikes with friends, family, or local hiking groups provide opportunities for socialization, which is essential for mental and emotional well-being. Building a sense of community through shared activities can enhance feelings of belonging and support.
2. Connection with Nature
Hiking offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, which has been shown to have numerous psychological benefits. Exposure to natural environments reduces stress, improves mood, and enhances overall well-being. Morning hikes allow individuals to experience the tranquility and beauty of nature, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Conclusion
Morning aerobic exercises such as hiking offer a comprehensive range of benefits that contribute to physical, mental, and social health. By incorporating regular morning hikes into one's routine, individuals can experience improved cardiovascular health, weight management, enhanced cognitive function, reduced stress, better sleep quality, and stronger social connections. As research continues to uncover the profound impact of aerobic exercise, it becomes increasingly clear that activities like hiking are essential for a healthy and fulfilling life.

TW weight loss
Hey Lovelies,
Today was a strange day. I met lots of new people at work and am quite exhausted, because I still can't sleep properly. (this night I did eventually sleep and also didn't wake up all the time, but my night was still very short. I felt a little out of it, when I tried to wake up)
I got new clothes I ordered (I ordered different things and sizes to sample, because I felt like I could order 1 or 2 things a little smaller than last time). And EVERYTHING IS TOO BIG ON ME!! 🤯
I had a really shitty body image day, so that actually was a nice surprise, but I also like the style and got it on sale and now I will have to return it. But hey, I saved some cash... Maybe I will post a Pic of that later, I'm not sure about my level of courage about my body yet.
Than I went for another long walk with the doggo and had to shower him again. How's the weather where you are?
I just had dinner (Chicken Tikka Masala-ready made) and will either sort the clothes or play Hogwarts Legacy or will do some work... 🤔 Choices.

Worst part of being physically disabled and the youngest person in your family was getting last priority for things like being allowed to sit down or take breaks and like your parents being healthier than you yet older meant that if you complained about the active stuff they loved that they made you do you were just being a lazy melodramatic kid

My jogging routine has gone out the window in the last ten days (due to work circumstances), but I've at least compensated with a big hike.

Hobbled myself around a 12km trail yesterday. Took the descents very cautiously as to not fuck myself up any further.
