hasn't slept in a week dead tired Jason knocking on his neighbors door: hey Jazz would you mind watching Robin and Superboy for me so I can sleep? *holds out a scruffed Damian and Jon very much in civis* Thanks, I'll be back in an hour *stumbles back to his place*
Jon and Damian: 😮 Watch who? Who did he say you have to watch
“… we’re not Superboy or Robin,” Jon said nervously.
Jazz just blinked. Then she nodded slowly and said, “Yes. I would guess not, since you two don’t have flying powers, right?”
“Us two?” Damian said, very tense.
Jazz nodded and shrugged. “Yes. Since Robin and Superboy can both fly, right? I’ve never seen them in person, so I have no idea.”
Damian and Jon shared a look and then nodded at her, clearly not wanting to push it. Jazz just smiled idly and said, “Well, I can’t watch over you two here, so how about I take you to Arkham Asylum?”
“…you’re taking us to Arkham? Arkham Asylum?” Damian said, sounding appalled.
Jazz blinked and nodded. “I still have work. Would you two like to come with me to tour? I don’t have any meetings with any of the more… volatile patients for today. I can bring you around and you two can volunteer and help around.”
Jon looked eagerly at Damian, who glanced at his overexcited friend and then at Jazz. She smiled encouragingly and said with a smile, “I have a gun that I can use to protect you two, and I can fight. If it makes you feel better.”
Damian narrowed his eyes at her and then nodded once. He held Jon’s hand determinedly, which made Jazz’s lips twitch before she smoothed her face over in a flash.
Jazz beamed. “Great! Let’s go!”
————
Jason blinked. “Damn. They’re absolutely knocked out.”
Both Damian and Jon were completely and utterly worn out from the day they had. Usually, at this time, they’d be bouncing and nagging and screaming for patrol or excitement or games, but whatever sacrifice Jazz must’ve killed in order for peace must’ve been extremely valuable and to a very agreeable god.
“What did you do?” Jason asked, in awe.
She giggled and kissed him on the cheek. “Just brought them around. They were so sweet! Although, I do want to tell you that Damian isn’t getting the amount of sleep that he needs for his age, and don’t look at me like that, I know what your nighttime job is, he still needs sleep. You should encourage him by making him associate bedtime with rewards, and I think that’ll make him less grumpy. He was very cute though! And Jon is an absolute sweetheart, I don’t mind watching them again if you’d like.”
Jason just smiled as he picked the two kids up in his arms. “I’ll give your advice to Dick and B. Thanks. Sorry for just dumping them on your doorstep.”
“You’re tired from the case, I get it. I don’t mind, but next time, I’d like a warning, okay?”
“Sure thing, Princess. Thank you again. I’ll cook dinner for us on Thursday?”
She nodded. Then she paused and said, “Also, you called them Robin and Superboy when you brought them here. Did you know that?”
Jason froze and then cursed to himself. “Damn! I knew I was forgetting something. Sorry, Princess, I forgot to tell them that you knew my identity so—”
“Hmm, yes, I figured, since they seemed really wary of me at first. It’s okay though, we had fun in the end and I think they like me a little now.” She giggled and then said, “I have to get back to my papers, but I’ll see you tonight, dearest!”
With another kiss, she ushered him out the door and waved goodbye before she left.
Jason smiled dreamily after her before bringing the kids to his bike, where he held them carefully as he drove though Gotham streets.
Damian woke up at some point, rubbing his eyes and yawning. At these times, Jason could kind of understand why Dick seemed to think he was the cutest thing in the universe. “Did you have a good rest, sleeping beauty?” He teased.
Damian nodded and said, “Next time Father wants you to babysit, don’t bother. Just bring us to your girlfriend and leave.”
Jason almost swerved. Damian hissed and held onto Jon, who grumbled and nearly knocked Jason off of his bike with his sleepy headbutt. “What! Damn, what the hell did she do for you to like her so much?!”
Damian smirked. “She has guts, smarts, skill, and compassion for the poor and unfortunate. You have chosen well for a sister-in-law and I expect you to marry in less than 3 years, understand?”
Jason looked at him like he was crazy. He appreciated the support, but he was starting to feel like Jazz might’ve replaced his brother with someone else. “… what did you three do all day?”
Damian smiled with all of his teeth. “She brought us to Arkham Asylum to shadow her work and then she defended us when one of the inmates broke out. She can perform a magnificent takedown with no hands.“
Jon also spoke up, blinking sleepy eyes, “She also let us meet Killer Croc! And we also met Poison Ivy! It was cool!”
“You should also tell her the truth at some point. We told her that you have horrific, delusional dreams because you can’t sleep and that’s why you lied about our identities.”
Jason just stared.
Yeah, that last part was definitely the usual Damian.

Random headcanon number 20207483927
-Dick doesn’t spy on his families teams
Because he doesn’t need too
They’ll either tell him what’s happening
Or their teammates will
He’s friends with 80% of them anyway
Jason Todd was honest to god on a team with Dicks Ex who still adores him and starfire /j
No but really Roy and Kori 100% have doxxed Jason’s entire life to Dick Grayson
A) bc I will ignore any canon where these 3 aren’t close
B) Kori has never had a filter ever
C) Dick absolutely has indoctrinated the fab 5 into mission reports and now they feel weird without a debrief
D) Roy would find giving Dick and ulcer over the stupid shit his brother does hilarious
E) Roy would find giving dick and ulcer over the stupid shit HE does so so so fulfilling (revenge)
Damian is on the Titans.
No matter what titans generation of titans it is they’re responding to Nightwings status report request, fully detailed in MLA format with a reference list following APA 7 guidelines
Dick does not have to worry about young justice despite the fact they are very much NOT snitches bc Tim absolutely calls Dick and Doxxes his entire life story to him once a week minimum
(See Tim telling Dick random shit in the comics causing him to lose his balance and fall a compilation Im sure exists)
Both Clark and Wally are on the justice league. Bruce’s every dangerous move is reported to Dick via Clark and all his stupid ones are reported to Dick via Wally.
No matter how weird Dick and Babs relationship (on again, besties, off again, not talking etc) is she’s absolutely telling him either via concise email or 7 hour long sip and bitch session every single thing that happens not for help but bc ughhh wtf is happening.
Now frustratingly the same is not reciprocated
Bc
“Donna or Garth would kill me” -Roy
“*graphic details of sexcapades to distract from question*”-Kori
“Nightwing is busy” -oracle (babs just leaves when asked as a civilian)
“I’m sorry it’s just so hard to not talk to him okay?? He’s so nice” -Jon during supersons
“He’s my friend too, I can tell him what I want” current jon
“Listen he barely talks to me as it is I’d rather he still come to me with issues and insecurities without worrying his father will hear it” -Clark
“If you think I’m saying shit to you, you’re in idiot, if anything was wrong and I told you you’d make it worse go fuck yourself” -Wally
(OG Bruce Wayne hater of titans. him and Roy do fight over this title at the titans new years. Wally thinks Roy lost his place bc he found a new bird to be mad at the bat over so his timeline should shrink. Roy thinks this is bullshit bc now he hates Bruce for reasons of bird^2)
#dick grayson#nightwing#batman#jason todd#batfam#bruce wayne#tim drake#damian wayne#comics#batfamily#everyone’s a snitch your honor#remember that time on the space ship#Tim infodumps and accidentally doxxes himself#but when Bruce asks he gets a ‘none of your business’s’#Bruce is bitter about this#the only person who gets Dick Grayson info is Alfred pennyworth#he gets it from Dick Grayson#but the OG titans aren’t snitches#but only for nightwing#otherwise yeah no zip your lip#or chill with Artemis and bizzaro#he will still find a way to get info#he will not tell Jason#how the fuck he did it tho#for funsies

Older bat! Damian with super or wonder reader who's like sheltered and oblivious to the real world and they go on a mission or smith together and the whole times she's just doing whatever he says because that's what she's used to and he's just like damnn and finds that really attractive

𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. . . no copying of my work is allowed. Free translation is allowed as long as I am credited.
𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲. . . as I said in my other posts, English is not my first language. I have tried to make corrections with the translator, but as you all know, it is prone to making mistakes, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes or if anything sounds weird.
𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲… I don't know how I feel about myself today, but I decided to write this for you anyway. I hope you like it. <3
It was one of the first times you, a young girl exiled from the real world and born on an island paradise inhabited only by women, had contact with what was considered 'the real world.' You were not yet accustomed to many things, especially the existence of men, or perhaps men like Damian Wayne.
On Themyscira, you were used to following orders. When the Queen or your trainer told you to "do this," you knew exactly what to do. But when you joined the Justice League and met Batman, you initially believed you were supposed to act the same way. You soon realized that maybe you should have listened when Jon told you to ignore him completely.
At that moment, Damian Wayne, now known as Batman, was the last person you wanted to be trapped with in a situation like this. The two of you were locked in a reinforced room with no way out, where neither your strength nor your wits could help you get out. So you found yourself trapped with the one man who liked to bark orders like he was the king of Gotham.
— You really don't know what to do? — He asked, annoying you again. — Before, Wonder Women were effective.
However, you tried to heed Jon's advice; thus, you responded to him without intending to participate in his game.
— Yes, and in my land, men didn't even exist. So I'm just getting used to working with the inefficiency of one.
Damian slowly approached the box you were sitting in with an annoying grin on his face.
— In fact, I am a detective. Of course I know how to get out of here.
Your confused expression made him smile even harder at your confusion. You weren't sure if it was fair to feel like a complete idiot, but that was exactly how you felt at that moment. Besides, you didn't like him at all.
— And you never thought to open the door, or are you just trying to annoy me by making me live with you?
— Actually... — He replied, moving even closer to you. — I'm testing you. Go and open the door as best you can — He finally ordered.
And as if it were a sacred word, you stood up, determined to open the door to the room at any cost. At first, you tried to break it down with blows, but your strength wasn't enough. It was probably made of some incredibly strong material, possibly of alien origin.
— Try pulling the doorknob with your lasso — he suggested, and once again, you listened.
Damian couldn't help but find the way you obeyed like a trained dog incredibly attractive. Deep down, he felt that he had you at his mercy and that no matter what he asked you to do, you would listen.
Totally exhausted from the effort, you knelt on the ground, but you didn't give up. Feeling sorry for you, he reached over to stroke your hair, trying to calm you down.
— Pretty obedient little thing. — He flattered, lifting your chin so you could look him in the eye. — You don't know how to say no, do you?
A wave of intense heat enveloped you. Perhaps it was the first time you had ever found yourself in an intimate situation with someone, as you had always believed that your body was trained solely for an impending war. Yet, when Damian was around, that was the one purpose of your training you occasionally forgot.
— If I asked you to take off your underwear, would you be so obedient, habibati?
Your cheeks reddened immediately. You knew you should avoid this kind of situation, but having been trained on the island, you understood that you had to follow the orders of a superior. Batman was more experienced than you, making him your superior, and you felt obligated to obey him.
Immediately your panties fell down under the metal skirt of your suit, exposing your pussy to the man in the room.
From what you knew about men, you noticed they often looked for specific qualities in women. However, Damian had never shown any boldness towards you. As time passed, the 'sexual tension' that Jon had mentioned began to feel more like an annoyance.
When he saw that you were listening to him, he smiled as usual. But his smile was not one of despair; it was one of desire.
He knelt down to be at the same height as you. Gently, he slid a finger down your soaked pussy while keeping his eyes on yours, watching for any reaction on your face.
You understood what he was doing and how he was touching every part of the anatomy between your legs with precision. What you didn't understand was how he was so skilled at it.
You couldn't hold back your moans as you felt him gently pinch your now throbbing clit. His touch drove you crazy as you felt waves of pleasure crash against you.
— Damn, what a good girl. Sorry to tell you, Habibati... I have a weakness for obedient women.

This one is for @gosuckmydickgrayson simply inspired by whatever conversation we were having under a post (I don't remember which one lol)
Basically Jon's accepted the fact that Damian is pretty for a long time now but dumbly enough hasn't realized that his feelings go beyond physical attraction. Damian's only now realizing that Jon is hot, it's freaking him out and his blaming himself for not noticing sooner like the emotionally repressed bat that he is. (Like buddy where have you been??)
Their respective ages in this one are around 18 to 19 btw! Or super early twenties you decide uwu
---------
Damian's been going off about a mission that went absolutely off the rails for the past 15 minutes. Something about how no one listens to him, how they should because he's always right. Irey says that maybe if he said it nicer, they'd listen to him, and that just makes Damian throw daggers at her before he resumes his lecturing.
He is lecturing everybody, Jon included.
Jon, however, is not listening. He's had a hard time listening to Damian for years now actually. Though to be fair, he has had his moments where he would tune out Damian on purpose simply because he just didn't feel like hearing about how Tim took whatever was left of the Lucky Charms and left the empty box in the pantry.
But this was different. Because Damian could be telling him about whatever game he's been playing or whatever anime he's been watching, and Jon himself would notice the small beauty mark under Damian's left eye, the way his lashes frame his eyes, the soft and delicate features that are often paired with a stern look or an annoyed frown, the way his skin looks like it has almost no imperfections, and before he knows it, Damian is snapping his fingers in front of his face, bringing him back to reality.
It was in one of these many moments that Jon Kent realized,
"Holy shit... Damian's really fucking pretty," and it was for sure going to be his downfall.
When he realized around the age of 13 that his best friend was absolutely beautiful, Jon did his best to repress it; he did his best to not think about it because,
'Why would I find Damian pretty? He can be so bossy and arrogant'
'He acts like such a know-it-all, thinks he's right all the time'
'It's probably just puberty, it's nothing too serious'
These were things he told himself for the longest time. Did his best to find reasons to not think that Damian is pretty, but in all honesty, the last thing he wanted to do was admit that
"Oh my god... my best friend is pretty."
It's something that would keep him awake at night from the ages of 13 to 16.
It was something that would genuinely stress him out, something that would genuinely frustrate him to the point where, if Damian asked him to hang out, he'd make up some type of excuse like, "I'm going to my grandparents' farm this weekend" or "Sorry, D, my mom grounded me this week," because when he did hang out with Damian or when he was anywhere near Damian's vicinity, all he could do was focus on his pretty face.
Jon would stare at Damian wishing he would just get uglier, his life would be so much easier if Damian was uglier. But if he stared for too long his mind would begin to wonder about how long Damian's lashes have gotten and how cute his nose was.
He hated it.
Jon was so blaming Damian's mom for this. Why'd he have to look so much like her.
When he did decide to admit the fact that he found Damian really, really pretty, the first person he went to about his dilemma was Kon, and he wasn't much help because Kon's immediate first response was:
"Oh. So you like them mean and pretty, huh?"
The smirk that Kon was giving Jon told him everything he needed to know, and that was that Kon knew long before he did.
(And Kon had known that not only did Jon find Damian attractive, but that he clearly felt something more than just the fact that Damian was attractive. But that was something that Jon needed to discover for himself.)
Jon also picked up on the fact that Kon didn't just use the word mean to describe Damian, but he also used the word pretty, which could only mean…
"Wait... you also think Damian's pretty?"
"I have eyes, Jon. I know a pretty face when I see one, and so does everybody else."
Oh, and how true that was, because as soon as Kon said those words, that's when Jon realized that he definitely was not the only one who also thought Damian Wayne was pretty.
He proceeded to have another existential crisis about it.
And so, after the years of mental acceptance he's had to do, (he finally accepted it around the age of 17) he was now standing in the middle of the Watchtower, getting scolded with the rest of his team from the man he found absolutely stunning.
"I hope you all realize this is why we have plans; this is why we talk about strategy; this is why we don't react on impulse—"
"It got the job done, though."
'Oh, Tai... this is not the time to be talking back right now,' everyone collectively thought.
Damian stopped his rant for a brief moment, looked dead in the eye at his teammate, and said, "Oh, do not get me started on you—"
Damian liked things done a certain way, and everyone on this team should know that by now, but everyone on this team is also just as stubborn as the next.
So Jon stands there, alongside the rest of his teammates as they continue to get reprimanded, arms crossed and staring.
He sees Damian's lips moving, but... they look really soft. 'I wanna kiss him...' he thinks (oh, and that was a new thought he'd have to come back to later), and the way Damian's nose scrunches up when he's ranting about whatever is cute. Maybe it's just him, but 'Are Damian's eyes greener? They seem shinier.' Damian, in general, is really distracting.
And in that moment, Jon's brain decided that
'Hey, wouldn't it be great, just awesome to think your thoughts out loud!,'
So then, without thinking: "You're pretty when you're mad..."
Damian immediately stops and turns to look at Jon with a look that can only be described as horribly shocked and confused.
Everyone else also stops and turns to look at Jon.
And of course, Jon realizes a second too late what he just said.
There's a moment of silence before Damian speaks again because he needs to process what he just heard. He's shocked, bemused, and flattered? He is feeling everything in between, and it feels like he's in crisis mode.
"E—excuse me!?"
"I—"
"You—"
Damian was already red in the face, but it's for a completely different reason now.
"I—I didn't mean it!"
"You didn't mean it!?"
"I mean, I wasn't listening!?"
"You weren't listening!?"
Goddamn it, Jon really needs to get his foot out of his mouth. And he really needs to pay better attention because wait... when did Damian get into his personal space?
'Oh... his skin looks really soft...'
Now that Damian was closer, he could smell that smell that was oh so Damian. How he was fighting the impulse to cup Damian's face and simply admire him.
"Jon! Are you listening!?"
Oh yeah, he was getting yelled at.
Jon lets out a sigh; it's his own way of admitting defeat. Because it's been so hard keeping all this in for so long. And he already went ahead and said what he said so now seems like a better time than ever.
"I'm sorry, Dames... You're just really distracting..."
And Jon sees the red go from Damian's cheeks to his ears and down his neck. He also notices that Damian got shorter? Or maybe he himself got taller?
Yeah, that was probably it.
Damian at this point has absolutely no idea what to say. What could he say!?
He was confused and feeling so many things at once; he felt warm—in fact, everything felt warm.
'When did everything start to feel so warm!?' His thoughts felt like they were going into overdrive.
But wait... when did he get so close to Jon?
'Was Jon always this tall? There's no way I had to crane my neck up this high just to talk to him,' Damian thought.
He notices that Jon is slightly tanner; it makes his freckles more prominent. And his hair... it's longer, shaggier. It somehow suits him, making Damian feel some type of way. Oh, and those blue eyes, those pretty blue eyes with just a hint of violet.
Jon really is handsome.
It was kind of pissing him off.
And then his eyes begin to travel from Jon's face down to his chest, and almost immediately, he regrets it.
'His chest is... big... and his arms...'
Jon's suit wasn't doing much to hide it either. It seemed to be too tight now, and it was incredibly distracting.
Damian swallows; his throat feels dry now because when did Jon start filling out?
Why is he taller?
He was already tall to begin with! He doesn't need to be any taller!
Damian is now having an internal crisis and feels like he's going crazy.
He decides the best course of action is to take a deep breath and take five steps back from his best friend.
Emphasis on best friend, he reminds himself.
This action helps Jon relax a bit too, but then it's quickly replaced with confusion.
"Get a new uniform."
"What?"
"Get a new uniform before I make you one myself," Damian says through gritted teeth and with very clear annoyance.
"This whole thing has been absolutely ridiculous; everyone is dismissed!"
However, no one really leaves; they all just sort of stand there processing what they just witnessed as they watch Damian round a corner and disappear.
"... What the hell was that?" Kathy is the first one to break the awkward tension.
Jon just groans, throwing his head back and covering his face with his hands out of embarrassment.
Damian is now left with the fact that he finds his own best friend, Jon Kent, attractive in more ways than one. And the fact that Jon clearly feels the same about him is making his brain melt just a little bit.
#this is what i did instead of sleeping lol its about to be 4 in the morning here ops#Count how many times I say pretty in this I really wanted to emphasize the fact that Damian is pretty LOL#i hope you like it tho! i actually had a really fun time writing this#jondami#damijon#damian wayne#jonathan kent#jon kent#writing#fanfiction#batman fanfiction

Honestly if I was batsis I'd pretend to have a crush on the batboys close friends(excluding Damian because he and Jon are still babies) just to annoy them. Jason bring Roy over? Suddenly I'm very interested in his tattoo's and I want to know all about archery. I catch kon in the kitchen in Tim? Suddenly i'm very into the conversation they're having and am making eye contact a lot with Kon. I feel liked they'd do something like this; Batsis: You know I really like your tattoos. Roy: Oh thanks. Jason: ... You gotta go, like, now. Roy: What-
Brilliant, anon!! What a great idea!! This was very fun to write :)
(don't mind the spelling mistakes please lol. i am tired out of my mind)
For starters, when Bruce first introduced the members of the Justice League to you (it took a lot of convincing), you just couldn’t help but flirt with them.
I mean, just LOOK at Aquaman. The moment you laid your eyes on him, you felt a spark. He hadn’t noticed you staring, but surely he had felt it too. Bruce, however, had noticed you staring. He didn’t seem particularly amused, almost as though he saw you daydreaming about your wedding with Aquaman. Just when you were making your way over to them, Bruce scowled and swiftly led Aquaman away. After that, you never saw him ever again…
Or that one time when Green Lantern came over. Wow. What a man. You didn’t waste a second walking up to him and introducing yourself. The giggles you were suppressing nearly slipped out after you saw Bruce’s eye twitch. Green Lantern entertained your advances, though you knew he wasn’t interested in you. Whenever Bruce started with his, “Hal. We should leave”, you would always interrupt him with more questions directed at Hal.
“So…do you like pasta? I’m actually really good at making it. You should come over, you know? I could treat you!” You all but winked at him.
Hal found it very interesting, don’t get him wrong, he thought you were very funny, but when Bruce is standing right there beside him, he felt…intimidated. So intimidated, in fact, that he can barely reply to your questions.
“Oh…um…” he nervously glanced at Bruce. “Green. You know what, kid? Your father and I have some business to attend to…so…see you next time. Good luck with the um…yeah, never mind.”
Hal sped off, leaving you and Bruce alone. You had been in the mood to laugh until your father turned to you with a serious expression. Suddenly you weren’t in the mood to laugh anymore. To put it simply, it was a clear warning: Don’t do it again, his look communicated.
Now, Constantine, he was fun to hang around with, likely because he isn’t as scared of Batman as the rest is. And also, he’s hot. “You are so cool, honestly. It’s really impressive how often you’ve escaped death”, you leaned against the wall. To be honest, you weren’t even listening to what he was saying, all you needed to hear was his strong English accent and little sprinkles of humor.
After some bribery, you had gotten Tim to tell you that Bruce was most concerned about you meeting Constantine. For some reason, you figured…
“So…I like older men, what about you?”, you batted your eyelashes at him. You didn’t have Bruce in your periphery, as you were focusing on John, but you could imagine him shaking in fury.
“Yeah, I like older men too”, he replied nonchalantly. Dammit, he got you. Well, he was a funny guy.
Bruce seemingly relaxed at that, but that’s not to say that he was satisfied with the interaction taking place. “You’re funny, are you single-”, you could barely finish your sentence before Dick dragged you away to spend time with you. Though, you believe that Bruce asked Dick to get you away just so you couldn’t talk to Constantine like that.
Bruce had way too many attractive friends. Well, almost all his friends were attractive: Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash…hell, even Martian Manhunter. I mean, he can read minds! Just imagine the potential…
“So, I heard you can read minds. Read mine right now”, your grin was…suspicious. Bruce couldn’t read minds like J’onn could, but he could imagine what you were thinking about. No, actually, he didn’t want to imagine it.
“J’onn.”, Bruce, ever so stern, called out and gestured towards the door. The J’onn in question had merely walked off in that direction silently, as though having understood Bruce’s point from one word. Martian Manhunter hadn’t read your mind that day, to your dismay. However, you had managed to make Bruce uncomfortable, so that was considered a win.
Dick himself had very attractive friends. Wally West, quite the flirt, was among them. Though, oddly enough, you had imagined him to be more flirty. It couldn’t be that Dick took a page out of Bruce’s book and told him to watch it, right?
“So, you’re fast, huh?”, you looked Wally up and down. “I happen to be”, Wally glanced at Dick.
“Okaayyyyy, Wally, you should leave”, Dick spoke with a strained smile.
“Yeah. Oh, by the way, what about the-”
“Now.”
Wally looked around awkwardly, “…right.”
And Raven—what a woman. Plus, Cyborg and Starfire filled your thoughts. Though Wally was the first and last friend of Dick’s you ever saw. A pity. He seemed to have learnt his lesson…
Now Roy Harper, Jason’s friend, was quite something. Tattoos? Archery? Hell yeah.
“Wow, so you like engineering books? Well, the manor has a huge variety. You should come by more often”, you smiled innocently.
“Um, actually, he will NOT be coming over ever again”, Jason frowned at your words.
“Why not?”, both you and Roy turned to Jason.
“BECAUSE I said so”, you and Roy made eye contact awkwardly.
“You”, Jason points at Roy, “Get out.”
“What? But you said you needed my he-”
“NOWWWW. Do NOT make me repeat myself.”
Yeah, Roy leaving was more awkward than anything else that had happened so far.
Jason didn’t have that many friends, as far as you knew at least. In other words: You would never see Roy ever again…
Now Tim, being charming himself, had many attractive friends.
For starters: Conner Kent.
You hadn’t had much contact with the Kents, however Conner had come over a few times. And wow. Despite being overly confident (and often obnoxious), he was very, very attractive. However, you have never talked to him. The reason? Tim makes sure he keeps you at arm’s length. In fact, you’re not sure you could ever find a way to interract with Tim’s friends…unless…
“Hey, Tim!”, Jason called out, “Bruce says you need to go to the cave right now.”
“What? But I have guests over…”, Tim eyes Jason suspiciously.
“I mean, if you wanna get in trouble with him, be my guest”, Jay raised his hands defensively.
“I-…fine. Conner, just a second, I will be right back. DO NOT move”, Tim sighs.
After Tim left, you shot Jason a thumbs-up and went to mingle with Superboy.
“Good evening. You must be Conner. I’ve heard a lot about you from Tim”, you say, taking it slow.
“Good evening! Hopefully you only heard good things!”, he grins.
“Oh, plenty of good things. Say, if you really can fly, then why don’t you take me for a ride? I haven’t ever seen the sky from…well, up in the sky”, you copied his grin.
“Ah, well, I would, really, but I’m not sure how Tim would feel, you know? I mean, he’s a bit of a-”, Conner started.
“A bit of a what.”, a new voice shocked the both of you.
Tim. Where the hell did he come from?
“I though I told you to leave if they started talking to you?”, Tim ignored you, only focusing on scolding Conner.
“Well, that would’ve been incredibly rude…”, Conner struggled to defend himself.
“You.”, Tim turns to you.
“Me?”, you said, though you weren’t scared of him anymore.
“Yes, you. What’s the big idea? Why did you pull that just to talk to Conner? I don’t know what you have planned, but forget it immediately. If you don’t leave right now, I’ll tell Bruce to reinstate the therapy sessions. Then you can explain to him why you enjoy sabotaging others so much.”
That was, quite frankly, terrifying. You hadn’t been this scared of Tim in a while.
Well, safe to say you won’t be doing this again…

Dead Serious Prompt, feat. BFF Jon
Jon had a standing invitation to Wayne Manor, as all the Supers did. They had to be careful for identity reasons but when you could move as fast as he did, it was easy to stay out of sight. Still, Jon always tried to text first. He was normally very good about texting Damian before he showed up at the manor, but he’d been in a hurry to tell him the latest gossip.
Jon only pulled up short, a couple miles off when he heard a heartbeat he did not recognize. He scrunched his face and wondered why he hadn’t heard it before.
A few seconds later he had the answer: the next beat. Da. Dum. Da. Dum. Like it was struggling to keep pumping. At this rate, their heart must only beat, like, thirty times a minute.
That was super not normal. Was it medical distress?
He shut his eyes and focused on the manor. He mentally filtered out the sounds in-between like his dad had taught him. The rest of the Bats had normal heart rates, and no one was shouting for help or anything.
Jon tilted his head a little, trying to construct the image in his head. Bruce was in the Cave. Duke was in his room maybe, snoring away. It sounded like Cass and Stephanie were training. The one closest to the odd heartbeat was Damian, who didn’t sound like someone in a room with a dying human.
But Damian could be a little weird about things so Jon mentally turned up the volume in the room they occupied.
“-wants a PowerPoint?,” asked an unfamiliar voice, nervous and faltering.
“So I assumed.” Damian replied.
“D- do you want to work on that together or should we, uh, split it between us?”
“We will construct it together.” There was a sound of shifting fabric as he… fidgeted? What?? “If you’re amenable, we can use my study to work after school. Alfred can bring you to your home at the end of the night as well, so as not to impose upon your parents’ time.”
“Your family won’t mind if I’m just… here? Every day?”
“Of course not. You have every reason to be in my home,” Damian assured. His heart sped up. Jon slapped a hand over his mouth. There was no indication of danger so… his pulse had to be reacting to what he was feeling! What!! “I invited you.”
“Right, of course. Thanks so much, by the way, for letting me come over. I really didn’t want to expose you to my parents’ weirdness this early in our relationship.”
He didn’t sound like he meant it romantically, but Damian’s heart stuttered anyway.
Jon let out a tiny scream behind his hands. Damian!!! You didn’t say anything about your big fat crush on whoever is in your house right now!!! Unfair! Not cool! Jon told him everything about the people he liked!!
Jon approached the Manor and landed out of sight. He went to the front door instead of climbing in through a window or going through the cave.
Alfred smiled at him, not questioning the shining grin on his face. “Master Damian is currently entertaining a guest. They are partners for a science class project.”
“Is he-?” He whispered like he was worried Damian would hear him from the third floor. Jon made a complicated hand motion that conveyed nothing. Alfred understood immediately.
“He has been very attentive to mister Danny’s needs. I imagine they will want snacks soon. Would you like to take the tray up to them, young mister Kent?”
Jon loved Alfred so much. He was an old guy but he had a wicked sense of humor. Jon was going to bother Dami and his crush relentlessly, as a good friend should!
When he made it up the steps, balancing a tray of little sandwiches, cookies, and fruit, he could hear them both murmuring about the outline they’d need to construct for the paper and who should do what preliminary research. They both sounded like they were engrossed in the work.
Nerds, he thought fondly. He barged in.
Damian, sitting on the couch next to someone who had to be Danny, jerked away from the teenager like he’d been caught doing something bad. They were a little close on the couch but it was a reasonable distance for looking at the computer sitting on Danny’s lap.
Damian scowled at the door. His face registered Jon’s presence, eyes flicking back and forth between the tray and Danny and his friend.
Jon grinned at Damian. Damian’s face fell into the rigid, blank mask it always took when he was trying not to show anything. His heart slowed to a steady pace.
Hiding the evidence, huh? Too bad, Jon had already caught on. No secrets here, Dami!
Danny blinked at Damian, who to him had pulled away for no reason. “You good, man?”
“I am fine,” Jon’s friend replied, slipping into an even more formal tenor, eyes flicking to Jon then back.
Danny caught the motion and looked to the door.
Jon raised the tray in one hand. “Hey Dames, sorry to show up outta nowhere! I bring snacks courtesy of Alfred as an apology though!”
It was Danny’s turn to look between Jon and Damian. His eyes lit up in recognition and he actually got up to shake Jon’s hand. “Hey, you must be the best friend! I’ve heard a lot about you! Jon, right?”
Jon smiled and nodded, carefully shaking Danny’s hand with the least amount of strength.
“Damian talks about me at school, huh?”
He glanced at Damian and the boy’s answering scowl said it all.
“Mostly stories over lunch, nothing bad. Damian has been really cool! He’s been showing me around since I just moved to Gotham a couple weeks ago.”
Jon shot Damian a hurt look behind Danny’s back when the boy turned to acknowledge Damian, a shy duck of the head in thanks, before he turned back to Jon.
“Oh??”
“Yeah, he’s showed me all around the Diamond District and we even went to the planetarium! It was insane; Gotham has the best telescope on the eastern seaboard!”
That all sounded very date-like to Jon, and from the sparkly look in his eyes, he’d had a lot of fun. Jon wiggled his eyebrows at Damian.
Damian responded with a finger dragged over his throat and a pointed motion to the place where a pouch would be on his utility belt, were he wearing it instead of the stuffy school uniform he wore to Gotham Academy.
Danny fiddled nervously with his fingers. “Hey, uh, where’s the bathroom from here?”
“Down the hall, last door on the right!” Jon chimed in before Damian had a chance. The scowl was back, and the bat’s protégé was glaring so hard Jon worried he might develop heat vision spontaneously.
The moment Danny had shut the door, Damian turned to Jon and said: “Get out of my house.”
“Aw, I just wanted to say hi! I’m your best friend who you apparently talk about to ~boys~.” The singsong on the last word made Damian’s eyebrow twitch.
“Not anymore,” he growled. “This betrayal will not go unpunished.”
“I just wanna meet the boy you’re making googly eyes at!” Jon teased. “Friends tell each other about crushes! C’mon, when were you going to mention Mr. Starry Eyes? Ever?”
There was a sharp intake of breath, and Damian furtively checked that the door was still closed. “I am not making… googly eyes. Danny is here to work on a project. We are assigned partners. There is nothing more to it!”
“Uh-huh, and you weren’t working up the nerve to touch his shoulder before I came in—“ the light of triumph briefly flared in his eyes and his mouth opened. Jon went on— “or put your hand on his leg to lean over and point at something on the screen.”
Damian’s mouth snapped shut. His eyes went to the table top. He crossed his arms with a huff. “It only makes sense to brace myself when leaning over. Most people don’t have that kind of core strength. It was necessary.”
A flimsy excuse from Robin?
Jon couldn’t help it. He laughed.

You know me, I'm only here to drop ideas
I've been thinking for a small au where Damian follows Jon when he goes to space BEHIND EVERYONE'S BACK.
It may be an alternative way for this piece hehe.
Damian doesn’t trust Jon going alone, his family calms him down and just disregard it as him being an obsessive paranoid kid, hell even Clark tries to calm him down. But we know how he is: he follows Jon and brings with himself some magic items that can help him being invisible for a couple of minutes and more.
He just leaves a note saying that he went to make sure Jon doesn't get himself killed.
No one is surprised.
This, however changes everything.
Damian manages to see Ultraman and how he is torturing Jon in a fucking volcano, and Damian being human, cannot just jump and skiddattle, it takes days, but when Damian sees the opportunity of having a big distraction for Ultraman and using the same magic to eliminate his presence, manages to go to the volcano and finds his best friend chained and way too traumatized.
It's not until moments later that Ultraman takes notice of what's happening and a small fight ensues with Damian injuring Ultraman and leaving his universe.
And behold, Superson's adventures in space!!
They try to find their way home, with Jon having nightmares of his imprisonment at the volcano, he and Damian fight more often than not for almost an entire year, but... well things get better little by little. Emotionally and mentally.
Both growing up together 6 years between stars and more, besides, maybe Damian gets to also focus more in different types of magic im ancient temples of different planets, while Jon learns more about kryptonians and his powers.
I would love that at some point, both were separated from the other and it drives them nuts, Jon would be at the Legion of Heroes in the future and tries to use it was a way to find his best friend... only to later hearing a report of an intruder and well.... cue Damian armed to the teeth and trying to find Jon.
It becomes a heartfelt reunion and, while Jon is still affiliated with Legion, Damian isn't.
Both return to find their way home, only to see that they were the only ones who felt those 6 years, while on Earth it was only 3 weeks.
It would be interesting the family and hero dynamics for both tbh
Edit: should this Damian become kind of a renowned healer too?? Doctor!damian for the win?? Tell me your thoughts!!

Talk to Me (part 8)
Previous | Masterpost | Next
When it became clear neither Damian nor Cass were coming back Alfred whisked their plate away with a carefully neutral expression. Danny ate the rest of his dinner without testing it, barely noticing what he was eating. No one spoke.
After dinner Tim retreated to his lab, and Bruce to his office though Danny knew him well enough to know he’d be spending the evening figuring out how to make this up to Damian while on patrol. Danny followed Alfred into the kitchen to help with the clean up, his movements automatic and robotic as he helped wash and dry the dishes. After he cut himself on a knife he was washing because he was distracted Alfred shewed him back to the kitchen table and brought him a cup of sweet tea which Danny sipped obediently.
How could he have handled that better? Maybe he could have talked to Damian about it first, but Damian wouldn’t have agreed before Danny had Bruce on board. He would have been afraid Bruce would see it as weakness, even now with Bruce being the one to suggest it Damian still saw it that way, and as a sort of punishment. Danny should have suggested Bruce talk to Damian privately before booking the sessions, but he really thought their father would have enough emotional intelligence to realize that on his own. Which had clearly been a mistake.
He jumped a little as Alfred put down a plate in front of him with a gentle thunk. He glanced at the sandwich and two cookies on it and up at Alfred with confusion, he’d just had dinner.
“Master Damian didn’t eat much of his dinner. Bring this up to him please,” Alfred said gently.
Danny blinked a few times, forcing down his panic at the request. “Are you sure? He was pretty mad,” Danny said worriedly.
“Yes, but I don’t think he’s really mad at you, Danny,” Alfred said, nudging the plate a little closer to Danny. “Bring him the food.”
“Alright,” Danny sighed, still worried but he trusted Alfred and he was asking Danny to do him a favour so of course Danny wasn’t going to say no. He picked up the plate and headed upstairs.
He stood outside of Damian’s room and took a deep breath to brace himself before he knocked softly.
“Go away,” came the muffled call from inside.
“Alfred sent up some food, and some cookies. You don’t have to talk to me if you don’t want to but please take the food,” Danny replied as softly as he could and still be heard through the door, and the blankets Damian was probably hiding under.
He heard a huff and a shuffle from inside the room, a few clicks as Damian disabled his traps and unlocked the door. When he opened it Danny held out the plate with a carefully neutral expression, if Damian wanted to snatch it and slam the door, Danny didn’t want to guilt him out of that reaction.
And Damian did just that, taking the plate and slamming the door again immediately. Well… that answered that question, Damian was absolutely not ready to talk. Danny blinked, took a deep breath and stared at the ceiling, firmly saying No to the prickling of tears behind his eyes. He was NOT going to cry, Damian would talk to him when he was ready. Danny stood in the hall for a moment, and then went back to his own room.
Damian didn’t go on patrol that night, or the next night. He avoided family meals except dinner which Alfred insisted anyone home sit down for, then he did his best to ignore everyone, only giving short responses when directly addressed. At school Danny had assumed that Damian was just spending time with Jon, until Jon sought him out the second day to ask where Damian was since he hadn’t seen him.
Not that Danny was much better, he had shut down a little after what Damian had said and was avoiding Tucker and Sam too. He couldn’t pretend to be okay, and he wasn’t ready to talk about what was upsetting him. He knew that they would only have the best intentions in pressuring him to share but he wasn’t ready to.
He had wanted to let Damian come to him, but by the end of the second day Danny was at the end of his rope and when Damian tried to slip away again as soon as they got home Danny lost his temper. He grabbed Damian by the back of his shirt and yanked him back, starting to drag him towards the dojo while Damian squawked and struggled.
“That’s Enough! Come fight me and stop avoiding this. You’re mad? Fine! Hit me stop being a petulant child!” He snapped as he practically threw Damian through the door into the sparring room and followed him in.
“How dare you,” Damian spluttered, but he wasn’t throwing a punch so Danny took it into his own hands and aimed a kick at Damian’s chest who stopped spluttering and dodged. Danny followed him insistently.
“You think there’s something wrong with me? You think I’m weak?! Prove it!” Danny challenged. They hadn’t been sparring as much lately, mostly just on weekends, but he had been practicing with Cass, and with Red Hood so he was Not out of practice. Besides he had been feeling stronger ever since he switched to drinking the pure ecto.
That worked though and Damian started to fight back but Danny could tell his blows were sloppier then usual, fueled by emotion rather than calculation. He was still upset, Danny had known he was, and as the fight went on it only got worse. Danny stopped throwing punches, blocking the hits rather than dodging them. His arms were going to be bruised to hell but feeling the impact of his fists Hitting something would be more helpful for Damian right now.
When he’d had enough of the fight and Damian was panting Danny lunged at Damian, his twin’s crow of triumph as he landed a blow on Danny’s stomach turned into a indignant cry as Danny tackled him to the ground. It was a brief and undignified struggle on the floor before Danny had Damian pinned. He thrashed and practically howled but Danny bore down harder, keeping Damian there until he started to cry, howls and snarls devolving rather quickly into sniffles and sobs.
“It’s okay to not be okay,” Danny said practically laying on top of Damian now. “I know how you feel. I do know, that’s why I couldn’t talk to you about it myself. I was ashamed, but father doesn’t think it’s shameful I promise. He may want us to be strong, but he also wants us to be Well.”
“YOU Should have talked to me!” Damian snapped, glaring at Danny with tear bright eyes. “You- we- We’re twins! We were the closest and then, now we’re not. You told Tim before you tell me, I call Dick before I call you. It was you and me against everything and now it’s not! You should have told me.”
Danny.. hadn’t expected that, he’d expected and been ready for Damian being mad Danny had brought it up to father at all, and that father hadn’t told them. Not that what Damian was angry about was the breakdown in their relationship. He sat up, pushing away from Damain to let him sit up, sitting cross legged in front of him.
“I was afraid of your reaction. You know the way we were raised as well as I did. I knew you’d think it was weakness to ask for help like this. I thought you’d take it better from dad, though I didn’t expect him to make an appointment before talking to you and just announce it at dinner,” Danny grumbled. He was still a little bitter about that situation himself.
“I wouldn’t-!”
“Yes you would have! And you did, you implied there’s something wrong with me!”
“And there is! You’ve been keeping secrets from all of us, even me! You pushed me to trust and now you won’t! We have a family, we have a home! You insisted we try to be children and you won’t do it. You’re just pulling back more and more and I..” Damian cut off, staring at Danny with wide, wet eyes. As if he’d startled himself with whatever revelation he’d just come too. “I don’t want to lose you.”
“You’re not going to,” Danny said firmly. “I.. know what you’re talking about Damian. But this is Why I need therapy. I never really learned loyalty, or trust, like you. I told you too because it was the right thing to do but it doesn’t come naturally to me. I need help, and you’re still hurt and insecure and- It’s not just us. Father is strong, but he’s always sad, Tim is good but too self sacrificing for his own good, and you know Dick and Cass better then I do. But I know we all need help. By going, the two of us,” he gestured back in forth between himself and Damian. “We can help all of them.
“And I promise you’re not going to lose me. We’ve grown apart some sure, but you’ll always be my brother, my twin. You mean more to me then anything. If it would make you feel better, we can do something together. Set aside a day a week, or every other week just for the two of us to bond so we don’t grow apart any further.” He was a little bit loathed to offer that because it would cut more into his time in the lab, but his family really was his priority.
“Ya, that sounds good.” Damian said, wiping his nose on the back of his hand, it made him seem so young. “I’ve been meaning to go visit the aquarium? Maybe we can go Saturday.”
“That sounds perfect,” Danny said, pushing himself up to his feet and offering Damian his hand, pulling him up as well when he accepted it. “Will you talk to father now?”
“Tonight, on patrol,” Damian murmured as he absently fixed his hair. “It’s easier to talk behind the masks.”
“Of course it is,” Danny chuckled, shaking his head. He yanked Damian into one more tight hug and then pushed him away nearly as quickly. “Now we both need to shower before dinner,” he said, shooing Damian off and heading back to his own room to have a long shower and process his own emotions.
At dinner the atmosphere was noticeably more relaxed and when Damian announced he was well enough for patrol Bruce looked so relieved he might cry. Danny hid his smile behind his glass and planned how he was going to sneak out since everyone was going to be out on patrol tonight.
--------------
Once treated with the available ectoplasm the detector Danny had been working on still took a lot of adjustments to reliably detect the trace amounts of the ecto he was dealing with. He used George as a dousing rod to confirm his findings since he figured out the little blob got more excited and energetic the more ecto was in the air. They showed when he was right and helped him tune the device so that when he had to go out without George, he could be relatively sure of his readings with the ecto-detecto.
When the week ended he checked the collectors again and confirmed that the 3rd prototype was the most productive. So he ordered parts to make a few more of those and took to the streets of Gotham in costume to find out where it would be best to put his new collectors when they were done, and just how many he’d have to make. He hadn’t really explored or spent much time in the Ally at all, coming straight to his lab every time, so this was a good excuse to see what was what as well!
He set the detector to alarm when readings went above a certain point and holstered it so he’d have both his hands free to grapple around and took to the rooftops. He learned quickly the level of ecto around the warehouses was actually a little lower then average for Gotham so he paused on a random roof to readjust the settings slightly and then carried on.
He grappled up to a ledge on an old church and paused, a particularly loud beep coming from his detector he pulled it out and sat down, fiddling with his instruments. So far, this place had the highest concentration of ecto, he wondered if that had to do with the age of the building, the human use, or if it was a natural occurrence like a lay line. He suspected it was to do with human’s though, either due to strong emotions or death were his current theories.
He didn’t look up when he heard the whoosh of another grappling line. He was deep in crime ally, none of the bats have the guts to come out here now so it had to be Jason. As he suspected the landing was to heavy to be any of his siblings. And Blobert came to nudge curiously against the detector before Danny gently pushed him away. The little blobs always spiked his readings and he was trying to be accurate!
“Hey kid, rare to see you so far from your lab,” Jason said, leaning against the nearby gargoyle with his arms crossed. “What’s that?” he jerked his chin towards the oddly retro radio looking thing in Danny’s hands.
“It’s my ecto-detecto,” Danny cackled holding it up, his voice distorted and layered with whispers through his helmets modulator. He could tell just from the motion of Jason’s helmet he was rolling his eyes. “It turns out the stuff exists ambiently in Gotham’s air, which I think might explain some of this city’s weirdness. Now that I know how to harvest it I just need to find the best places to set up my collectors. The concentration here is particularly high,” He knocked on the screen to emphasize his point then put it down on his lap and opened his wrist computer. Marking this location on his digital map and adding some notes and theories.
“You have got to figure out how to name your stuff better Hafit,” Jason told him with a scoff.
“I name my inventions to amuse myself, Hood,” Danny replied with a disdainful sniff.
“Were you going to ask me about setting up these devices of yours?” Jason asked, tilting his head. Danny couldn’t tell if his voice was warning or just amused.
“Of course I was,” Danny promised. “They’ll be on roofs and ledges mostly, tucked away in corners civilians won’t easily find them. They won’t be dangerous or huge. They shouldn’t be any trouble at all, you can just avoid them.” Silence stretched awkwardly between them as Jason stared at him, and Danny shifted awkwardly. “Sooo, can I? Please?”
Jason managed to hold it together for another minute before he broke and started cackling, dodging when Danny tried to kick him for laughing, and for stringing him along. “Of course you can, I just wanted to make you ask properly and freak you out a bit.” Jason told Danny, still laughing.
“Great, thanks,” Danny said, telegraphing rolling his eyes clearly.
“Just Do make sure they’re not accessible to the public, hey? The stuff you’re working with is dangerous, hell add a self destruct if anyone but you messes with it.”
“You really like the self destruct option don’t you? There Are other options you know,” Danny said dryly. Jason flipped him off. “But ya, I’ll be careful I promise.”
“Good. Any more progress on a cure?” Jason asked, serious again.
“Yes, I think so,” Danny said, finishing his notes and calibrations and holstering the sensor again. “Swing by sometime soon, I’ll need a blood sample to test it,” He said, clocking the way Jason instantly tensed. “Ya, ya I know you’re precious about your DNA. I will be careful, but if it’s going to have a negative reaction of some sort I’d rather find out Before it’s in your body. Wouldn’t you?” Danny said, putting his hands on his hips and staring Jason down.
“Ya, I guess you’re right,” Jason sighed, his shoulders slumping a little. “Fine,” He growled, pulling his grapple back out of its holster and swinging away.
“Everyone in this family is allergic to vulnerability I swear,” Danny grumbled as he turned away and loped off to carry on his tour.
As he moved he thought about the way to help Jason. Since he had consumed the ectoplasm he had the idea that they could probably just replace the Lazarus water in Jason with ecto, and since the emotions in that were actually balanced that Should fix the madness. But that would depend on how much of the water was still in Jason, if it was low enough concentration they may just be able to filter it out, if he wasn’t as dependent on it as Danny was. But given how long Jason had been dead before resurrection, and how persistent the after affects were, Danny didn’t have much hope for that.
If Jason did still have the Lazarus Water in his system and depended on it in any way Danny would love to know why he and his grandfather needed constant exposure to Lazarus whereas Jason didn’t. It was definitely a curiosity but finding that out would almost definitely require more tests then he thought Jason would agree too. And besides- Ah! The reading spiked again! What had he been thinking about? Whatever.
Danny stopped to check the readings and where he was. The readings here were even higher than they had been at the church! He was on top of a hospital which would play into either of his leading theories. Oh well, that was only two data points, hopefully many more to go. He made his notes and moved on.
About halfway through his tour of crime alley, after adding two more locations to his ongoing map of high ecto locations, Danny and Jason crossed paths again and he wrangled Danny into eating something. Which was both annoying and good. For all Danny hated being torn away from the task at hand with that level of physical activity, running and grappling across the city, he needed the calories, and it was honestly really touching that Red Hood cared. So he let Jason buy them tacos from a food truck and tried not to sulk to much as they sat on a random roof, away from any functional cameras so they could take off their helmets and eat.
At least Jason didn’t seem that interested in talking just then so he left Danny to his thoughts about his various plans and experiments. Jason seemed to have his own things to think about, Danny had no idea what they were. Usually he would have been curious about whatever it was that was worrying one of his brother, maybe even offer to help. But he really didn’t want to know anything about Jason’s plans, if he did he might feel the need to warn his family. He didn’t want his loyalties divided anymore then they already were and he was no double agent, this was a family feud he did Not want to be in the middle of.
When they finished eating helmets went back on and they went their separate ways but, as much as he hated to admit it, Danny Did feel better for the food and for the break. He had more energy, and was less single-mindedly focused on the data, more aware of his surroundings, which meant he stopped three muggings on his makeshift patrol. He should do these more often. It felt nice to help people, and for all he wanted to stay under the radar for as long as possible, he knew he would be noticed soon and then there would be no point hiding in his lab. That was why he’d designed a whole costume after all, so he could have somewhat free reign without compromising his identity.
Once he’d covered all of Crime Alley he had quite a few good locations for his collectors. Hospitals, Graveyards, churches, and funeral homes were the best, and he had sort of given up on telling if it was death or emotion, at least from the locations because it turned out they often came hand in hand. He had ruled out it being age though, since newer churches with more activity had higher readings then older, less populated areas. He would have to look at the map as a whole before he could fully rule out lay lines as well, but he thought the buildings would be one hell of a coincidence if it was just location.

DAMIAN WAYNE SCHOOL HEADCANONS because school opened like 2-3 weeks ago and i need to cope
•since he is 15 years old, he is in 10th grade(not letting dc pull a tim drake and make him the same age forever)
•he used to love chemistry in the 9th grade because the first subject was alchemy if i remember correctly(dc can pry the "al ghuls are alchemists" hc(canon) from my cold dead hands)
but he lost interest in chemistry quickly after the subject passed.
•his all time favourite classes are math and art. im just sure damian's type of person that doesnt separate math and art from eachother
•why art is his favourite is a given but his favourite is math because math is a class based on problem solving(and also because he can do math easily)
but yeah ik his classmates are very very annoyed whenever he says "math is easy"
•I imagine him arguing with his english teacher the most for some reason. there is no reason other than damian is a very educated kid about the english literature(literature in general) so either he doesnt care or he correct his teacher on literally everything.
•i feel like he would either do a very detail research about the book he read and write a very long essay, or make a very short one and not enough detailed. no in between(because he misunderstood his teachers when they said to "keep it short")
•he begged his father to let him take an exam that lets him skil grades based on his level but his father refused so now he takes advanced math etc.
•him and duke see eachother in the morning regularly(insomniac duke, and damian who wakes up at 5.30 is real) and they sit down to talk about random shit till 7 am mostly(duke explained him the fnaf lore and damian talked about creepypastas real)
•he texts with maps both on their way to their separate schools and make plans to meetup after school to just hang out
•damian usually reads or draws in most of the classes since he already knows everything they are teaching but when asked a question, he does yap a lot(dc should bring back yapper damian ngl)
•bathroom breakdowns were very real for 9th grade damian(literally canon event for everyone with social anxiety or people who get overstimulated at school)
•still bullied just doesnt care about it and insults them/messes with them back to get back at the bullies(it stops after him also messing with them)
•he loves playing football and volleyball but not with his teammates(ik hes #3 frat boy hater i just feel it) so he only gets along with 2 of his teammates. i imagine their personality as scott and stiles from teen wolf so yeah
•has one(1) friend and two(2) teammates he doesnt hate in total(girlfailure and girlsuccess damian youre real to me🙌😼)
also he got multiple friends outside of school anyways lmao bro is anything BUT anti-social(to me hes also the type to join his schools projects etc or debate teams)
•he always calls his mother when he makes it to school and whenever hes leaving it because talia worries and he wants ease her worries(ultimate mother daughter duo)
•after school he has a yap session with nika and they talk about everything that happened to them that day(yapper4yapper gravebird my beloved)
•him and stephanie rant about school daily and talk about how much they hate it(but they both wont drop out since steph wants that med school degree and damian also wants it in the future(med student sisterisms real))
•jon may be going to a journalism school(i think??) but hes still a science nerd so their study sessions always turns into an argument about an equation or a science problem
>>> so i think thats it!! please tell me your headcanons too and help me cope with school also because i love reading about hcs(esp thosr about damian) <<<<

I can't help but but laugh that DAMIAN though the baby was BATSIS's.
The reveal of Damian being a Wayne is gonna hurt, but let's not blame the babies of the adults mistake, instead let's all reunite together and hate on Neglectful!Bruce, and love Goodfather!Nolan (because he's slightly better than Bruce in this one).
But let's be better and love LOIS LANE AND HER BABY JON! we need to have a scene with Jon and baby him,
Like
*Jon making grabby hands at Batsis*
Batsis:.....leave me alone baby
*Jon sniffles*
Batsis bursting into tears and picking Jon up: YOUR MY BABY AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Damian in the back seething with fury while carrying toddler Oliver who's playing with Damian's face, and Lois taking a picture that she's gonna send Clark (and perhaps to Bruce with a caption that says 'imma steal your kid')and Talia also taking pictures and selling them to Jason
Damian is reluctantly sharing his sister, eventually he'll get supper clingy too, he can't blame Jon because Batsis is so fucking cool.
- Nameless 💜
Damian is quick to jump to conclusions- granted, it's mostly because he doesn't quite know Batsis that well :))
I fear both Lois and Talia will become complete menaces to Bruce, just for fun ( and because of personal reasons) add to it Debbie- that's the true Trinity.
*Jon making grabby hands at Batsis* Batsis:.....leave me alone baby *Jon sniffles* Batsis bursting into tears and picking Jon up: YOUR MY BABY AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
PFFF, I SEE IT!!! Like Jon going to Grandma Martha so she can help him bake some goodies- "Just the recipes and supervision- I want to do everything else on my own, grandma! It would be another lie if I let you do all the work." and then coming to Batsis with these cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies(that are slightly burned and yet a bit undercooked) and some sad, big eyes. "I'm really sorry. We're not 13 anymore, we should have known better than to lie about something like this."
And batsis tries to be mad at him by pure association- but she doesn't have it in her. She's already mad at all the others, this kid just got pulled into this mess. So she sighs, deep and loud, and accepts the goods, and almost gets blinded by Jon's smile as he talks her ear out while she works, helping here and there.
Jon, later to Damian, after Batsis praised his skills: Your siblings don't deserve her.
Damian, who on any other subject would have argued: Yes 🙄 I know.
Jon, deliberately ignoring Mark's existence: She doesn't need them. She has us and Oliver. Little brother supremacy.
Dami, liking where this is going: 😈 Yesss
Damian in the back seething with fury while carrying toddler Oliver who's playing with Damian's face, and Lois taking a picture that she's gonna send Clark (and perhaps to Bruce with a caption that says 'imma steal your kid')and Talia also taking pictures and selling them to Jason
Poor Dami is fighting back tears of pain as Oliver just digs his fingers deeper and deeper in Damian's face(what's up with babies and toddlers having so much strength anyway? like seriously, they're as human as the rest of us but their hits hurt so much 😭)
Damian is reluctantly sharing his sister, eventually he'll get supper clingy too, he can't blame Jon because Batsis is so fucking cool.
He's very reluctant- but if it's the only way, he'll take it.
(and then eliminate the competition from the inside- maybe, he may get attached too)

Your art is always so pretty! Do you have any Jason and Damian headcanons about their relationship as brothers? Or any jondami headcons? I'd love to hear them!
Omg, thank you so much😭✋💖‼️
About Jason and Damian...Uhg! I love them. I just LOVE them. I really like to think they've met in the League, but Damian was too little and he doesn't remember. I like the idea of Jason being all full of hatred and baby Damian just, there, keeping him sane, you know?
And then Jason leaves and Damian is left with this empty like feeling. Like he lost someone but he doesn't really remember. And when he's Robin and has to fight red hood, he kind of goes easy on him? Something about him makes him go easy. At first.
And well, after Jason kind of re-joins the family, they have this silent respect for each other? Like, just nodding their heads to say hi to each other, and just treating the other as an equal. None of them will talk about the fact that, sometimes, when Jason stays at Wayne manor, Damian will sit next to him and they'll end up cuddling, because let's be honest, they're both touch deprived.
Then I have this AU. I'm doing a short comic about this so...yeah. Talia decides that The League is not a place for Damian and so she hands him to Bruce...when he's like 4. He was starting his training as an assassin already, and Talia decided this after her father forced her baby to climb the mountains of Interlaken.
The point is...baby Damian is very prideful and insists he doesn't need a babysitter. Jason is replying with "sure" "yup" "clearly". And well, the comic ends when Jason taps the place next to him and starts reading the little prince to Damian. It's a comic I'm planning on drawing, it'll have like...10 chapters, maybe? I just feel like baby Damian would love the little prince. Maybe because younger me really loved it.
Then, about JonDami... JON SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN AGED, AND I'M TOO ANGRY TO LOOK IF MY SENTENCE IS GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT, MY ENGLISH SUCKS.
I LOVED HOW THEY USED TO HATE EACH OTHER JUST TO END UP BEING BESTIES, and then I like to think Damian started crushing on Jon and he was like; hell no, and decided to step back and stopped talking to Jon. His plan was to ignore Jon untill the feelings died. I like to think Damian sucks at communication. He does suck at communication. I feel like that would be the reason of a lots of arguments. Actually? It is. In SuperSons they're always fighting because he doesn't tell him his plans untill it's TOO DAMN LATE. Or just decides things without asking Jon. And he has the audacity to be sarcastic and annoyed when Jon is like ???, Like; yes king, give us no communication 🤓☝️🚩
Jon is like tf, why he's ignoring me? And realizes how much he misses Damian and, oh heck, this ain't friendship, this is love!
And I feel like this is the BIGGEST cliche ever, the most repeated story, but I LOVE IT. I LIKE CLICHES SOMETIMES 😭✋
And I don't know. I like them together, but at the same time I like them as just friends. Like, they're cute together, wether as friends or a couple. I really like Daminika, too. The ship name is Gravebird or something like that? It's so damn edgy, I love it.
Does Jondami have another name? Like super-bin or something like that? LMAO THAT NAME SUCKS. If it has, I hope it's not super-bin.
Thank you for asking and sorry if it's long, I like to ramble about stuff like this and couldn't really help myself 😭✋
Have a great day💖‼️

Someone put a post (where they admit they straight up dont know these characters lol, and also spell damian as 'damien' so like. yknow.) in the tags saying that if you're a fan of Jon & Jay, you shouldn't buy super son. Well, as the crowned CEO of Jay & Jon, I'm here to tell you guys that you absolutely should.
Super Son did the amazing thing of hitting several marks that I predicted while still managing to surprise me in how they hit them. Which is high praise for any story: A great narrative should be able to both meet reasonable audience expectations (i.e, staying in character, setup payoff) WHILE STILL throwing in curveballs that tell you something new.
There's a lot I want to analyze and get into, namely how I think the rooftop conversation between Jon & Nia is really brilliantly done in what it says about both characters, but mainly I've been thinking a lot about how great those last few pages were and how I think Sina absolutely nails how Jon & Jay's specific issues interact with each other.
Jay's always been a blunt person. From their first meeting back in SOKE 2, hes said what he thinks, and rarely does he try and soften himself. More than that, his bluntness is often a shield from vulnerability, which Jay struggles with the whole scene. It makes total sense, after what hes experienced (re-traumatization at the hands of a friend) that he's displaying that trait again.
Jon, however, is immediately vulnerable. This is the most poignant confession of the issue: Not even in the amazing sequence of Nia helping him make a place in the darkness (look, its back, thanks isabel!) do we get this admission of fear.
And Jay, like always, embraces him. Sidenote, LOVE how they got in the thing Jon does where he's constantly tucking his face in people's shoulders during hugs.
But the moment ends, and we get here. First of all, cold af. I could feel the aura before I turned the page.
Second of all: Jay is totally valid in feeling this way. And it makes perfect sense that he would.
Sara was his everything. Getting her back was one of his main motivations in SOKE. Because of Nia's actions, she died horribly (do you know what happens to a person when they fall from that sort of height? I do. Its AWFUL.) for an unjust cause. Of course he's glad she can't hurt anyone else!
And that's when we get to my FAVORITE PART! Oh how I love this bit. Because like. You understand why Jon's angry- Its a harsh thing for Jay to say! Nia was the one who kept him sane while he was trapped in his own mind! But Jay, like always, is RIGHT: Jon DOESN'T get it. How could he?
Jon Kent will NEVER, ever, be put in this position. Out of universe, his parents are Clark Kent and Lois Lane. They'll ALWAYS come back. Hell, the fact they'll always come back is something Ma LITERALLY says to Jon in SOKE. He will never, ever have to know this pain.
In universe, Jon's a white american. Despite being queer, despite being an alien, he'll never know what its like to be this kind of collateral, delegated as pawns in a greater war for 'freedom'. That is what killed Sara at the end of the day: imperialism.
This next bit hurts my heart. Great job, guys!
For one: Jon claims he's not excusing the mistakes Nia made, but by downplaying it like this... yes he is. But did you catch that part? Right at the start of that bubble?
"I'm going to fight every day to make up for my own part in this."
That's where it clicked for me. Something I had been hoping for since Nicole first called them twin flames.
He's projecting.
Of COURSE he's defending Nia. Of COURSE he wants Jay to forgive her. It isn't just about the fact that she gave him support, it isn't just the dreams, its the fact that... well. If Jay can't forgive her... how could he EVER forgive HIM?
THIS is where the fact that Jon and Nia are so similar as character SINGS. They become mirrors to each other, evaluating their own self worth through the other, at the unintentional expense of the people they've hurt.
Jay's right, though. Again. Its almost like he's the embodiment of the truth or something. He doesn't HAVE to do anything.
When he starts crying though, I immediately was RUINED. This is the first time we have EVER seen him cry before during his entire existence of a character. And its not really even because his mom is dead (though yes, that) and its not even because of the argument. Its because Jay fundamentally wants to be understood, and he's not getting that.
Which is important for the next bit:
I want to first backtrack a bit to Son of Kal El again, specifically, issue fourteen, right here.
Hello, two-panel sequence that succinctly describes these two as characters. How convenient you are for me, a guy analyzing a work that isn't written prose.
Jon isn't good at letting go, for better or for worse. The things he cares about stay with him, and when something or someone tries to exit his life, he clings to them with all his might.
Jay however, both selflessly and selfishly, is willing to let go first if he thinks its better for the other person. To me this line so effortlessly summarizes who Jay is- he's a person who's accustomed to not having things, and will leave before it hurts and he gets too attached.
And that thought is ALL over this scene. Jay, who begins to let go, Jon, who both literally and physically CLINGS to jay, practically begging him to stay.
(Sidenote. This is like, the third time Jay mentions breaking up when Jon starts acting up. Good for you king, keep that white boy on his toes, let him know he ain't all that.)
Every little detail of this four panel sequence is killing me. "My worst nightmare is not having a home with you in it." His greatest desire. The thing that kept tipping him off in every fake reality Nia constructed for him- Jay's absence. Him wiping the tear of Jay's cheek. Jay walking away from him.
But what really gets me is how on this page, Jon talks about them as 'we', while Jay is firmly stuck in 'I.'
This is what made me LOSE MY MARBLES at three in the morning. Just utterly fucking off my rocker in a straightjacket talking to myself.
Because this is what JON wants. But is it what JAY wants?
Jon never asks.
What about what Jay fears? What about the life that HE wants? What if he doesn't want San Francisco? What if the life he wants is the life he HAD before everything went wrong? Jon outright says he wants a fresh start. But Jay, Jay's someone with such deep connections to what he just lost, what he likely WANTS to get back. His country. His mother. His sense of self. But. He says yes.
(Sidenote. FIRST I LOVE YOU WOOOOOOOOOO) To quote my buddy Dami: Oh, the drama of needing a future with someone who can't get over the past.
It is left unclear, by the end, whether or not Jay is saying yes to this because he genuinely wants to, or if he's only saying yes because he doesn't want to lose Jon, too. Jon doesn't stop to question whether or not Jay's only reaching after him because Jon's walking away. We, the audience, are left to ponder that for ourselves.
How much of Jay saying yes is him just accepting that this is the best he's going to get? That he's never going to be understood because nobody wants to understand?
He's an afterthought to Nia, an obstacle at best, and to Jon he's a particularly handsome prop in this little fantasy he has of running away and starting new. He's either not thought of at all, or when he is thought about, it's in the context of how he can emotionally fulfill the other person And you get why Jon did this. He's desperate, he's hurting, he just got tangible evidence that the time he has with the people he loves isn't ever guaranteed. He's been needing space from Clark and Lois for MONTHS because god knows they haven't been fulfilling his emotional needs. In a very real sense, Jay is who he has.
But wanting someone to stay with you so much that you'll... Not even ignore, but just not ever consider what they may want. The intentional isolation, moving halfway across the country away from all support systems. The need to cling to someone.
It reminds me of... something. Someone.
Don't tell Jon I made this comparison. He'll kill himself. Jon and Ultraman ARE similar. They're both such deeply lonely people who cling very tightly and even though it manifests in different ways and even though they have different core thoughts about it. The effect at the end of the day is the same, isn't it?
Is loving Jay not a brutal act of destruction?
There's so many more details about this story I love. Jon & Nia's conversation being vague enough that you have no idea how Jon meant what he told her but you KNOW how NIA took it (girl you can do better hes literally ugly!). Jon breaking a pillar by bonking his head against it (LMFAO). The pretty lies vs ugly truth dichotomy of Jay vs Nia here.
But this one scene, man. This one fucking scene takes the cake. STELLAR work all around. Every panel counts.
This better lead into a full Superman & Gossamer run or SOMETHING or I'm going to have WORDS with DC's editorial staff.

A Simple Deception
masterlist
“I’m really sorry for you Jon. I know you have gotten close over the last few months,” Damian spoke into his phone.
“No, I really mean it,” he continued after a pause. “I know I’m not the most expressive person to talk to but it is clear that she means a lot to you. I wish her visa had worked out.”
Damian made a few more non-committal noises as his friend went on and on about his newer friend who would be moving away soon.
“I wish I had gotten a chance to meet her. Maybe sometime later in the future. I’ll take you to Paris for your birthday or something.”
“See you for New Year’s then. Merry Christmas to you and the rest of the Kents. I believe my gift should have arrived.”
He put his phone back on the desk and went looking for his family. Unlike Jon’s family, Christmas morning did not start promptly at 8am. With their evening activities, they all preferred to start a little later. Coffee and brunch would start at 10 am and the scavenger hunt for gifts would begin promptly at 11. The first one back after completing all the challenges would win Christmas.
It wasn’t the most traditional of Christmases, but it worked for them. And Damian was determined to win this year.
---
“Hold on, I’m putting you on speaker phone. I still have to be out of this apartment,” Marinette said. She moved her phone from her ear and put it on the mantle before shoving a pile of boxes.
She zipped back and forth as she continued talking at her phone.
“I just got the call that it was approved. Apparently, it went through last week but because of a mix up with the paperwork I didn’t get the call until they were closing today.”
“I can’t believe you still have to move,” the voice said from the phone.
“The cut off to stay here was a couple weeks ago.” Marinette stopped and looked at her phone with an uncertain look that even though the person on the other end couldn’t see her, would be able to hear the uncertainty in her voice. “But I had a friend tell me that if everything else failed, he would have a place for me in his apartment. He said it would just be a relief to have me in the same country.”
“I heard the same thing,” the voice laughed. “I have the space, and I already messaged a friend to borrow a truck to help.”
“You are a lifesaver; you know that?”
“I do, but I like to hear you say it.”
“Not to just call for huge favors, but I have to let you go now. I still have a ton of things to do. I haven’t even called my parents yet.”
“You told me before your parents? That’s cold.”
“Well, I sent a message saying I had an update so if they have been on, they can guess. But proper calls are hard while the bakery is open. They will call while they are closing, once they get the loud ovens off.”
“Best of luck. I know they were excited to have you back even though they wanted things to work out for you.”
“They were. But I did visit during the process, and they should be able to make another trip one day soon.”
—
The triumph of Christmas had not even lasted the week until New Year’s. His father had them gathered together to talk about their behavior for the New Year’s gala. It appeared to be a fabulous fancy dinner with all the Waynes and associated persons present, but his father was droning on about the behaviors that had been noticed at the last party. It had been a season full of parties where they were all expected to be dressed impeccably and a minimum not be caught causing disturbances and definitely not be written about in the press. Something that had been sorely lacking from the last Wayne hosted event.
Dick had been considered to be too drunk although it was more likely he just had had enough of the perfumed, elderly ladies pinching the wrong cheeks to tell him how handsome he looked all grown up. Stephanie, while not technically family, was not inconspicuous enough when doing impressions of Lex Luthor. Damian believes that she actually wanted Luther to see her. Tim and Jason both had a game of being confused any time someone spoke to them rather than greeting them as if they knew them. They had offended several long-time business associates and acquaintances of the Wayne Family.
Damian still believed that he had done nothing wrong. He was the picture of politeness and had greeted every person of note and some others. He remembered all the names, the grandkids and pets to ask about. He had not talked business once and he retrieved drinks when people were low. Apparently, his grave error was in not asking a single young lady to dance during the evening. He had the required skills, and he was not in any way unable to perform the motions at the time so he should have. It didn’t matter that he simply did not wish to dance with them.
“It is expected of you Damian,” his father said.
“There were plenty of other people dancing, including Dick and Tim. I think even Jason danced,” Damian complained.
“That makes it even more noticeable that you were not dancing. All of your brothers danced, and I danced. You should dance too.”
“I was busy making the rounds to all of the people who needed greeted.”
“I expect better time management next time then. I also made greetings for everyone and found the time. You will find the time for at least three to five dances–”
“That’s too many,” Damian cut in.
“Three to five dances and you will choose one of the suitable young ladies to kiss at midnight.”
“Absolutely not. I don’t want to kiss any of them.”
“You will and that is final.”
“But” Damian’s mind raced before he blurted out “I have a girlfriend.”
The stunned eyes of the entire table and the waiter turned to him.
“You have a girlfriend Dami?” Dick squealed.
“Of course he doesn’t,” Jason laughed. “He is just trying to get out of kissing some social climber at the gala.”
“Well,” Bruce said, “you certainly can’t kiss someone else if you have a girlfriend. You will bring her and kiss her at midnight. What is her name for the invitation?”
“Her name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Damian said, “But she will be out of the country by then.”
—
“You got settled, I see,” Jon said laughing at Marinette in the kitchen.
“You have been to my place many times. You knew what you were getting yourself into.”
“That I did. And I’m delighted to have you, but I’m going to help you clean up. Damian is coming over and I didn’t mention you were living here yet. I don’t want to overwhelm him. He wanted to talk about something, and it sounded serious,” Jon said.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I’ll clean really fast and get out of your hair,” Marinette said.
“Nonsense. I meant it when I said it was your place too. You haven’t met Damian yet, and you should. You will love him,” Jon paused, choosing his words carefully. “I just don’t want it to feel too chaotic when it sounds like he is already having a tough time.”
“Right. You get the dishwasher going while I get the counters cleared. Then, I’ll wash the remainder and leave the floors to you.”
“Perfect. That should get you a chance to get out of your mismatched jammies.”
“Do not impugn my mismatched jammies. They are very comfy, but possibly too chaotic for meeting new friends.”
“Right you are.”
—
“You really don’t have to come up with me. I’m just getting the keys to the truck I let Jon borrow,” Damian said, climbing the stairs to Jon’s apartment.
“You have a girlfriend who is about to leave the country. I want to meet her while I have the chance. I’m sure you will want to stay and see her for a bit anyway. I remember what it was like to be young and in love,” Bruce responded.
“If it is anything like you are now with Ms Kyle, do not ever think I will behave like that.”
“To be in love is to be part fool and let yourself be open to another person. Perhaps you and Marinette just need more time.”
“You are already aware that the time is limited, yet you insist on encroaching upon it.”
Damian let out a long-suffering sigh before he knocked firmly on the door.
“Damian, you made it,” Jon said, quickly turning his attempted hug into a handshake. “Uh, Mr Wayne, how nice to see you again. I didn’t realize you were coming.”
“I’ve told you so many times to call me Bruce,” Bruce said with a warm smile.
“Right, I’ll get the keys. Thank you so much for letting me borrow your truck. My grandparents were supposed to help but they got held up in Kansas,” Jon said, shifting on his feet.
Bruce pushed past the keys Jon held out and looked around the apartment. “Tell your grandparents I said ‘hello’. I do hope to see them when they make it to town.”
Damian took the keys and grabbed his father’s arm, “We should go. Jon is clearly busy.”
Bruce looked around and raised an eyebrow at Damian. Jon said nothing until Bruce stepped into the kitchen and looked down at a tray of goodies.
“Can I offer you something to eat? Marinette was baking earlier. I’m sure she is willing to share,” Jon was relieved to have something to do with his hands. “Oh, Marinette is a friend of mine. She is from France and staying here.”
“Damian mentioned that. I was hoping to meet her,” Bruce’s eyes lit up at the mention of his reason for coming. “It’s a shame about her visa expiring though.”
“Actually, it was approved,” a dark-haired woman said as she walked into the room. “I found out too late to keep my apartment. That is why Jon let me move in.”
“That’s wonderful!” Bruce exclaimed, reaching for her hand. “I’m Bruce Wayne, Damian’s father. You must be–”
Damian cut it, hoping to stop his father from saying something he didn’t want anyone to hear. “Father, might I present Marinette Dupain-Cheng.”
“You may. Damian was so disappointed his girlfriend had to go back to France. Congratulations on your visa approval. You must come to my New Year’s Eve gala. It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
“So nice to meet you, Mr Wayne.”
Marinette was shaking his hand but then he suddenly pulled her into a hug. Her eyes were huge and confused looking over his shoulder at Jon and Damian. Damian was trying not to make eye contact, but Jon was looking at him and laughing.
“You must call me Bruce,” he said, patting her back.
“Bruce,” she repeated.
—
“I’ll take the truck back. Don’t be back too late,” Bruce paused with a smirk, “or do. I guess you will be celebrating.”
“I will see you at the usual time,” Damian said stiffly.
He turned back slowly to face Jon, who was clearly trying not to laugh and Marinette. He had just met her, but he had the distinct impression that was not her happy face.
“What just happened?” Marinette asked, hand on her hip.
“My father invited you to the annual Wayne New Year’s Eve Gala,” Damian said.
“As your girlfriend? That is the part someone would typically ask first.”
“Why did no one tell me the visa was approved? You were supposed to be going back to France.”
Damian looked accusingly at Jon who shrugged.
“I didn't think you would go get engaged because I was waiting to tell you until I saw you. I honestly thought you were bored of me talking about it.”
“I was bored, but it was too convenient to tell my father I couldn’t hook up with whichever socialite is most convenient for his business.”
“We are not engaged or hooking up.” Marinette said emphatically. “We aren’t even dating, and you will make this right. I did not sign up for a randomly assigned billionaire boyfriend.”
“Trust me, I have no interest in dating you,” Damian said firmly. He paused before adding, “But since you already told my father you would attend the gala, would you be willing to go as a favor to me.”
“I do not owe you any favors,” Marinette said.
“Please,” Damian said. “I would owe you one. Jon will be there too.”
“I go every year. It is the best one of the year. Also, least likely to be attacked by rogues and I know you have a dress you designed that you would love to show off.”
“I don’t want to go around lying to people. It isn’t fun for me, and I’m not interested in profiting off deception.”
Damian held up his hand to get them all to stop.
“Jon, would you leave us for a moment.”
Jon looked like he wanted to argue but Damian waited until he relaxed and then walked out of the room. Damian gestured at the chairs in the living room.
“Please allow me to talk for a moment. Once I have explained myself, I will ask you to go with me and then accept whatever response you give.”
Marinette studied him for a moment and then nodded.
“First of all, allow me to congratulate you on your visa. I know from Jon that it was very nerve wracking to not know where you would be by the end of the week. Even though I blamed you for not leaving, I am happy for you.” Damian took a breath and continued. “I am not typically a rash or unfeeling person. I may show a lack of concern for things that don’t affect me, but I don’t like to be cruel or use others carelessly. That being said, when my father told me that he wanted me to essentially woo the young ladies at the gala, I provided the easiest excuse that would be accepted at the time without planning to produce an actual girlfriend. Jon has spoken of you many times so your name came easily to me as someone who my family would not know, and you were so conveniently not going to be in town at the time of the gala that I would be off the hook from my father’s expectations.”
Damian stood up and circled the room a couple times before turning back to her.
“My father’s expectations make me uncomfortable, but his reasoning is sound. I made choices in my behavior at the last event we hosted that did not meet what was expected of me. Now, I am expected to show attention to the ladies in attendance by dancing and being a proper gentleman in polite society. If you refuse to go with me, I will tell my father when I see him about my deception. I will then behave as I must at the event. If you agree to attend with me, you will benefit from being seen and talking about your design work. That is not disingenuous of you. It is how high society works. Everyone there is trying to advance themselves while also showing off for each other. That would be a good thing for you, and I would also owe you a favor. I could do as much as buying you a fabric store easily, if that is what you wished. After the evening is over, I will come clean to my father, and we will not be romantically linked. You will have just been my date for the evening.”
“Wow. I didn’t expect all that.”
It was Marinette’s turn to stand up and pace around the space. Her hands were tightly clasped in each other, the skin turning white where she squeezed.
“I–” She took a deep breath. “I accept. You really don’t need to owe me anything. I understand why you did what you did. It was a series of unexpected events that collided. Besides, I want to be friends. I’m sure we will see each other from time to time.”
—
It wasn’t nearly as bad as she expected.
It nearly felt like she was in a period piece. Everyone was all dressed up and speaking formally. It was definitely the best collective posture she had seen anywhere during her time in the states and possibly ever. Damian escorted her around on his arm and smiled at all the people he greeted by name and introduced her as his date.
His family was different. They all seemed like they were laughing at some joke, but it didn’t seem like it was at her. They did all seem interested in why she started dating Damian. She supposed that was just how siblings were. She ended up dancing with all of his siblings, Jon and then his father. As well as several dances with Damian and a couple of the other men in attendance.
It was nothing like the fake dates seen in pop culture. Everyone just accepted her as Damian’s date, and she didn’t have to justify it. She made the appropriate responses to her current dance partner. Archibald was handsome and a great dancer; she made sure not to tell him that she didn’t realize real people still had that name. He had been very polite.
Damian was approaching her, but he did not look happy. She glanced around to see if anyone was watching her. She didn’t think she had made any faux pas that would reflect poorly on him, and no one had even suggested that she was only here as a ruse. She had no clue why he suddenly looked so serious.
The crowd was getting louder. Everyone was leaving the dance floor and waiters were efficiently passing out champagne. The glasses were clinking together and people chattering noisily and pairing off.
Damian took her by the arm and pulled her along with him. She stumbled slightly but his arm was there to hold her upright. He took two flutes of champagne and held them in one hand as he took hers in the other and pulled her along to a balcony. All the other guests were moving down outside and once they got out there, she could see a couple other balconies with guests on them. But they were the only ones on this balcony.
“There is a slight possibility that we will be expected to kiss at midnight,” Damian said.
Marinette was so stunned she didn’t register the voices of the crowd start counting down from ten.
“By slight possibility I mean my father just told me that he still expects to see me celebrating at midnight and it should be easy since you are my girlfriend.”
Damian pushed her hair back from her face and cupped her cheek.
“I really hoped he just wouldn’t notice.”
He tilted her face up and looked into her eyes. He didn’t move forward, but his eyes held the question in them.
Marinette pushed forward until she was kissing him.
It was just supposed to be a quick kiss, but she gasped at the spark she felt kissing him. She didn’t pull back, instead her arm went around his neck as she felt his fingers dig into her hair. He pressed closer and held on to her. The fireworks were going off all around, but they didn’t notice anything but each other. They pulled away slowly, breathing a bit more quickly.
Neither seemed to know what to say for a moment.
Marinette picked up a glass of champagne and clinked it against Damian’s glass before taking a sip.
“Happy New Year,” she whispered, before leaning in to kiss him again.

Damian, going down his itemized list of scars:...Okay, bullet wound #4 is from when Todd shot me in the chest-- Conrad: He what?! Damian: Yeah, it was a rough time. Conrad: I'm going to...disintegrate him? Jon: Already floated that idea, D's not going to let you. Colin: I mean he did help with the Apokolips resurrection thing right? Sorta balances out? Damian: I think so. We are not friends, but I have no interest in aggravating that whole situation. Please do not disintegrate anyone. Damian: ...Ever, actually. Conrad: I mean...I guess. Okay. Maya: If it makes you feel any better, most of Damian's close friends have either tried to, or seriously considered killing him at some point. Damian: This is true. Damian: Hmm. I wonder if that should concern me more than it does. Conrad: Hey, I've never wanted to kill you! Damian: Sure, but you're insane in the opposite direction. Conrad: Conrad: So what I'm hearing is that you want me to expand my horizons-- Kathy: Honestly I think everyone should try at least once. Keeps him sharp. I might take a second shot actually. Suren: I don't know, I still feel kind of bad about all of that... Maps: Okay but does it count if it was a cartoonish daydream involving an exploding car and a lot of hammers? Maya:...By the law of slapstick, I'm going to say that doesn't count as seriously considering it. Maps: Yay! Colin: I've definitely never thought about it. Jon: I've also never-- Damian: Jonathan. Jon: Jon: Okay fine, I thought about throwing him into the pacific ocean once--but in my defense he would have probably survived. So...does it really count? Maya: Okay, hold on, I'm making a spreadsheet...

what do u think about jondami becoming "parents" raising a "baby "for a school project basically the same with lizzie but with damian crying to dick that hes slowing turning into his mother after jon not showing interest in a fake preschool scenario for the baby because jon claims that he wasnt trained by the best of the best and he turned out ok who do u think in the batfam would get mad at jon over their fake baby
Damian: Jon you don't understand our child needs to be prepared to handle any oncoming threats
Jon is spent, they've been at this for at least 3 hours
Jon: Damian... the question was how would you teach our child how to handle conflict, not how to round house kick another preschooler
Damian: All I'm saying is, is that our child is going to be taught by the best of the best not only in physical training but education and the arts—
Jon: Arts and education I can get behind but our child doesn't need to know how to wield a sword! Look I wasn't taught by the best of the best and I turned out just fine
Damian:
Jon:
Damian:
Jon: Stop it
-At least a day later-
Damian: Grayson I need your help! I'm afraid I'm turning into my mother
Dick, who was peacefully eating his cereal before Damian decided to bust into his apartment:
Dick: I mean you're already staring to look like her what else could there be?
Damian: Jon doesn't seem to understand or care that I just want the best for our child! And that includes how to know to take down an opponent in case Jon and or me are unavailable!
Dick:...Go on...
-Later that exact same day-
Dick: So you're telling me that you don't think it's beneficial for my niece and or nephew to know how to properly disarm a threat?
Jon:
Jon: What???
Jason: Whoa, ok, what's all this about?
Dick: Jon doesn't seem to care that his and Damian's child is going to be completely defenseless once they get out into the real world and how it would benefit their child to at least know some basic hand to hand combat
Jason:...
Jason: Nah I don't think the kid needs to learn how to fight right away, they should however know how to use a taser or at least a stun gun. Otherwise you're just a dad that doesn't care... And you don't wanna be a dad that doesn't care now do you Jon?
Jon simply just wants to raise this baby in peace without having to be intimidated by its self-proclaimed uncles.
Tim, who's been quietly watching this whole display go down turns to Damian: Isn't your guys baby fake?... Isn't this all for some school project??
To simply answer your question anon, most likely Dick and then probably Jason lol. They do pass the class though! And while Jon reminds Damian that he does love him, he also reminds him that his family is crazy.
