yall are pro mental illness until they hallucinate
yall are pro mental illness until they dissociate
yall are pro mental illness until they self-isolate
yall are pro mental illness until they're paranoid
yall are pro mental illness until they split
yall are pro mental illness until it's too Scary for your comparatively neurotypical brain to handle

to my psychotic/paranoid/OCD/other friends - you might start seeing posts in the next few days about how the rapture supposedly happened or is going to happen very soon. a group of evangelical “rapture watchers” think the rapture happened 9/22/23 for a handful of reasons, such as the dates lining up in a way that’s somehow significant.
i promise the rapture didn’t happen. i don’t personally believe in the rapture and i have nothing against those who do, but it for sure didn’t already happen. if it did everyone would know. there would be tons of footage. anyone who tries to claim it did happen or that they know the date is either lying or misguided.

The brain is an organ. Mental illnesses are illnesses of that organ. Brain scans show that there is a physical difference between a healthy brain and a sick brain. Telling someone “You’re not really sick. It’s all in your head.” is like telling someone with asthma “It’s not real, it’s all in your lungs.” The brain is an organ that can malfunction as much as any other organ.

Something really not talked about with trauma disorders is the paranoia.
Being scared and jumping to conclusions when people stand a little too close to you, not believing people’s compliments and thinking they have hidden motives, not believing when people tell you they like/love you, thinking that strangers you see on the street want to hurt you, etc.

Words that are very important to schizo-spec and psychotic people because they are the few words that accurately describe our unique and often life-changing experience:
• delusion/delusional
• hallucinate/hallucinating
• psychosis/psychotic
•schizophrenia/schizophrenic
• paranoia/paranoid
• word salad
Please don't use these words incorrectly. It does directly impact us. Yes the meaning of words evolves, but we don't have words to replace these ones. But you have words to replace these if you are using them as descriptors for something evil, unpredictable, selfish, contradictory, scared, misspeaking, etc.

Psychotic episode are fucking terrifying so sorry if I don't like when you use the word "delulu" and sorry if I don't want to talk to you because you think I'm crazy or dangerous and sorry if you think I'm exaggerating BUT FUCK YOU BECAUSE I WAS TERRIFIED.
I WAS SCARED.
I WAS LIKE A KID SCARED OF THE DARK.
HOW DARE YOU THINK IT'S FUNNY.
I WAS AFRAID TO GET KILLED, I WAS TERRIFIED OF GOING OUTSIDE I WAS CONVINCED OF HORRIBLE THINGS I COULDN'T SPEAK I COULDN'T MOVE I WAS TRAPPED IN MY BRAIN SO FUCK YOU.
Fuck anyone who thinks psychotic episodes are funny. Fuck anyone who judges someone for being on the schizo spec. Fuck anyone who laughs at this.

i don't know what psychotic person needs to hear this, but it is in fact okay for you to be psychotic. it's not your fault. you're not asking for it. it's something that's occurring to you. trying to force it to stop happening ALL the time is going to drain you way too much. some days you just have symptoms and it's alright. sometimes you just have to go with the flow. you're not a fuck up if you have episodes, days, weeks, months of not being able to hold it together and mask your paranoia, intrusive thoughts, delusions, hallucinations, catatonia, confusion, etc. it's alright to just be mentally ill for a bit. i love you

✙𓈒 paranoia flags ❞
1st flag is for those who experience low paranoia. 2nd flag is for those who experience fluid paranoia (could be going from none to low to high, etc.) 3rd flag is for those who experience high paranoia.
these flags are for people who have paranoia, i made these with people with paranoid disorders in mind (like me), but anyone who experiences paranoia can use these. the first three colours don't have any meaning but the last/bottom one means (in order) the level of paranoia! first one being low (green), second being fluid (yellow), and the last one being high (red/pink), almost like traffic lights!
don't use these if you're transid/transx.

if you see this, you are now and forever completely immune from every single “it’s the first of the month, use this sound or something bad will happen to you” post and every variation of it. those posts aren’t real. nothing bad will happen to you as a result of not using those sounds. i promise.

Hi so this is a bit different from my usual content, but I figured more people will see it here than if I were to say it on my main since I rarely do anything there.
If you ever feel like your friends secretly hate you, or are scared of you, or are upset with you but aren't telling you, and you have absolutely no proof to back it up,
Keep a happy folder.
Here are some things you can fill it with:
Screenshots of times your friends have said good things to/about you
.txt files where you write down different times your friends have done good things for you
Photos from spending time with your friends
Photos or .txt about your friends celebrating your birthday
Photos of presents you've gotten from your friends
Whenever you have those unjustified fears, look in your folder and remind yourself that they care.

If you come from a culture that believes in the Evil Eye and struggle with your mental health, here are a few gentle reminders:
-It's okay to talk about your anxieties, especially with a mental health professional. I know you may be scared of tempting the Evil Eye, but your anxieties will consume you if you don't talk about them.
-It's okay to think envious thoughts about other people. Your thoughts won't hurt them, and it hurts you more to be anxious that your thoughts have that power. Thoughts are not actions.
-It's okay to express joy and excitement about something. You deserve this good fortune. Don't let the Evil Eye take away your happiness.
-If you need to say the word "Cancer" or "Death" or "Miscarriage" or other scary words, say them. You don't need to live in the pain of bottling all these words up.
-If something bad happens to someone in your life, it's not your fault. Even if you thought bad thoughts about them. Even if you were jealous of them.
There is nothing wrong with believing in the Evil Eye, but we live in a world that is increasingly more stressful and anxiety-inducing, and we cannot let our superstitions hurt ourselves and others. Sometimes beliefs can turn into obsessions.
And if you feel like your belief in the Evil Eye has come to the point of an obsession, I hope you're able to find the help and comfort you need, ideally with a culturally-informed professional. You don't need to live in shame and fear.
*Antitheists or anyone trying to comment about how evil or stupid religion is, keep your comments to yourself.*
