So do you!” You attempt to wiggle out of his arms. “I said stop moving.” He pulls you closer to his chest and lightly nips your ear. “Leona!” You attempt to smack his chest with your hand but he grabs it before you can make contact. He takes the his other arm and wraps it around your chest, making you motionless. “There. Now stay quiet. I’m trying to nap with my favorite pillow.” He says, going back towards your ear. You brace yourself for another nip but jump when his lips make contact. “Leona! You can’t do that and then fall asleep!”

Ruggie comes into his dorm with a tired sigh. Who knew that working for a lion beastman who slept all day would be this tiring? His ears catch the small noise of you rolling over into his pillow. “Hehehe what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at your dorm?” He laughed before making his way towards you. “Missed you.” You mumble to him. Locs are easier to maintain than any other hairstyle, so Leona got those and kept it pushin'

Leona put jewelry in his locs and prettied them up to show status

Leona is actually a big fan of wearing jewelry, just not in overwhelming amounts

His music taste is unknown by all, and people are incapable of guessing

He's not big on music anyway and often prefers to drive in silence

How he shows it: Physical Touch and Quality Time

I'd say pretty early on in the relationship, things are still a bit rocky as one would guess with a guy like Leona. He's not one to talk or do all of the pretty things you'd find in most ordinary relationships. I'd like to describe Leona as a brick wall, sturdy and rough around the edges so his personality would not change simply because he's in a relationship with you.

you'd slowly start to learn that the small gestures of hand holding underneath the desk during lectures, patting your head when you've aced a test, or just sitting beside you while you're doing homework is his way of telling you you're important to this beastman. But the sweetest and most endearing show of affection is nuzzling close to your head or neck.

He's the type to drag you along when he's napping cuz he really does find your presence comforting. He enjoys the silent moments you two would share, it allows him to really sink in that there's someone rooting for him on the sidelines.

He's the type to be pretty hands-off, makes sure to not smother you, letting you do your own thing while he observes just in case something or someone would come in your way. I also see him as the kind of bf that would help you improve be it in academics or even in sports. Sort of like a tutor/coach cuz he really does want you to be the best version of yourself.

Slowly as this relationship goes on, I see Leona as the type to warm up to the idea of other ways of showing you that what you two have is special. Like dates off-campus, or an expensive ornate accessory or two. <3

What he needs: Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch

Being raised in a place where you're constantly compared does a lot of damage, and we can visibly see that with Leona. I'd imagine him spacing out, often recalling all of the complaints, comparisons, etc. and he's just quiet...so be the one to help break that train of thought of his.

He's a thinker, and with that comes the good and bad so having you, his S/O telling him small comments that he's enough, and that you're proud of him would catch him off-guard (in a good way) Though I do want to add that it's not your responsibility to fix him, it's still up to this lion to accept your compliments or not. With the way I see things tho, he'd be in denial but it does warm his heart.

Like I said earlier, he thinks a lot and sometimes genuine words aren't enough to get through his thick head. So hold his hand, or comb through his hair. pet his ears even! It soothes him. Taking naps throughout the day would often lead to muscle/body aches so a simple shoulder massage gets Leona's heart fluttering even just for a little bit.

We all know his unique magic is dangerous, to the point it almost killed Ruggie. I believe that he takes precautions with his hands (guess that's why he wears gloves) so a gesture that would really seal; Guide both of his hands toward your face so you're in between them and just...enjoy the feeling.

I believe another gesture would be sweet to him. Kiss his scar. He probably hates it and the guy doesn't even remember how he got it in the first place! He'd be a bit dumbfounded that you'd pick that area of his face but he'd like it (tho he won't admit it) Embrace his scars <3 (be it literal and/or figurative)

Ruggie Bucchi

How he shows it: Act of Service and Gift Giving

Ruggie's known for doing things all for the right price be it in the shape of favor or monetary. But for you, I see him doing small tasks for you in hopes that it would get your attention. I'm talking about carrying your books to class, and picking up your fave drink/snack while getting Leona's order.

Ruggie would be the type to save up some extra models on the side just so he can do a little splurging on you from time to time. He'd take note of your interests cuz he is genuinely curious and so he would try to buy stuff related to them <3 Oh! another thing I see him doing is helping you buy stuff at good deals, making sure your model and his are well spent which is always a plus cuz you get to see his serious expression as he bargains. a cute sight really~

He'd probably ask Leona for some extra tips on homework just so he can impress you while you guys are doing homework together. Cash in a few favors to give you a heads-up on upcoming "surprise" tests from Professor Trein. But another way I could see this is he'll lean towards you for help instead of Leona. sometimes teasing or messing with you while doing so just to see you puff your cheeks from his antics.

His grandma raised him right and I'm pretty sure she'd be the type to tell Ruggie "the quickest way to a person's heart is through their stomach" so you can imagine probably in the early hours in Savanaclaw, Ruggie fumbling in the kitchen as he tries to cook tomorrow's lunch. He'd insist on you taking it, "It helps save your money~" he'd say. He doesn't have much time with all the small jobs he's doing around campus so getting to spend time with you in these short moments eases him from all that stress.

When you're upset about something, he's the type to have a box of tissues on hand while he sits there as you let him cry it out. He'd even let you pet his ears if it calms you down during these rough times. To me, Ruggie won't give out advice unless you asked him for one but he knows you're capable enough to solve it while he's there to lend an ear...with snacks <3

What he needs: Gift Giving and Quality Time

Ruggie would really appreciate it if you give something in return. He genuinely doesn't mind if you spend a thousand madol (he'd probably tear up if you tell him the price) or give him something handmade. He's the type to appreciate the thought behind them especially if it's coming from his s/o.

He'd put your gifts on a shelf or his bedside table just so he could see them before he goes to bed and as soon as he woke up. If you love to cook and give him his meal, he'd stood there dumbfounded. He'd eat every part of it even if you add a little too much of something. He does appreciate the gesture and would ask you if you could cook him some more.

Speaking of food, I see you guys cooking together, be it teaching you how to make certain meals or just craving something in your or his dorm's kitchen. He'd shoo away any prying eyes or wandering beastmen just so it's just the two of you. casually flicking flour in your direction or stealing a utensil and only giving it back if you kiss him ~

Even when he's busy doing work or odd tasks from Leona, he'd appreciate you being there just to chat or even help out. What you can also do is ask him to personally show you how to do certain tasks to get all close and personal with him. He might know what you're up to but he ain't complaining~

Ruggie's always on the move, working his tail off and making sure he's stable enough once he graduates from NRC so have some quiet time with him. he might be twitching to get going but a couple of strokes in his ear would ease the tension on his shoulders. Let this hyena relax once in a while TvT and oftentimes this happens, you'd find a cute hyena beastman sleeping soundly on your lap.

Jack Howl

How he shows it: Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service

He may be a bit stand-offish and distant at the start of the relationship but he does mean well. You'd notice pretty early on that he's a bit awkward when he's around you but there are certain ways that he treats you differently from his friends. Take sports for example.

He'd be the type to personally help you if it's something PE or sports related. Make sure you're in top form and all that <3 A cute moment I see with this is that he'll get so wrapped up in helping you work out that it would take a while before he notices the proximity between you two. You'd know once you hear him slow down his speech and that he'd avert his gaze from yours.

Jack would be the type to be there at your side as you two walk to class in case anyone would want to mess with you. He'd nonchalantly carry your entire backpack and even more which is his earnest and cute way to show off his strength to you. Another way he shows affection is by also helping you in academics. You two would be shushed by Professor Trein pretty often when you guys study in the library. I see Jack as someone who'd hype someone up if they get a question right after so many tries.

At times when you're upset, he'd hold you close as he tries his best to say the right words but would be quiet throughout most of it. It does depend if what made you upset would determine his next course of action. sometimes it would upset you when Jack just gives you straight-up advice when what you want was comfort. You'd just have to talk to him about what you want from him and he'd understand. But if what troubles you is a 'who'… honestly good luck to that guy.

He's not much of a talker but what gets him passionate is at times when you need some words of encouragement when you're feeling insecure about something. Jack is the kind to be straight to the point and won't sugarcoat but would acknowledge your strong feats for whatever you're dealing with at the time.

What he needs: Quality Time and Gift Giving

The kind of guy that would appreciate actions rather than words from their s/o. Jack would describe himself as a lone wolf (no pun intended) so seeing you genuinely want to hang out with him, makes him feel something inside <3 Get him talking about his interests like gardening where you'll get his eyes light up which is always a highlight of your day~

A way to spend time with him is through his morning jogs. it's a way to get some alone time between the two of you and you guys to be active together. Sure the sacrifice would be to wake up early than expected but seeing his face light up whenever you join him for a run is worth it! It also allows you two to talk while around campus. We all know Jack is a pretty private individual so having a genuine conversation with you as you two work out early in the day, not only strengthens your bond as a couple but also increases his appreciation for you <3

Surprise him with small genuine gifts! it could be seed packets that you guys could plant together, new sporting gloves, or even a beverage after his club activities. He wouldn't know what to say at first cuz he's trying to reboot himself internally from your sweet gesture. Sometimes he's confused about how you affect him with whatever gesture you do but he lets you do it anyway because it leads you to have this glint in your eye.

Give him a challenge. Be a little competitive with him cuz it not only excites him but fuels him to do activities with you. challenge him on who can finish all their homework for the day or race him to the cafeteria and the loser has to buy lunch. He enjoys the playfulness, which keeps him on his toes and helps to study for him fun cuz he gets to do it with you.

Like in most cases with Savanaclaw, Jack is oftentimes pretty stubborn and would like to be left alone. Besides all of the bonding moments and receiving gifts, what he'd appreciate is if his s/o would cut it straight with him or in other words, call him out. He can take your words so long as it doesn't cross any boundaries of his but otherwise, he'll understand where you're coming from. He's gonna make mistakes but so long as you, his s/o, are gonna talk it out with him, his will heart skip a beat every time. All the more reason to be with you more.

The best driver at NRC. It initially started as a means to get away from the palace; enjoying having some freedom.

What he listens to while driving depends on his mood; if he’s content and just driving around he doesn’t listen to anything, but if he’s feeling irritated he’s cranking up the sound and letting it drown out his complaints.

He has his phone on silent and it’s tossed somewhere in the back. If you’re pressed to get in contact, leave a message.

Doesn’t keep many personal belongings in his jeep, most likely just a pillow and a throw blanket for when he decides to have a nap somewhere. Cheka has left some of his toys from the time he snuck in, so he also has a booster seat since his sister-in-law nearly bit his head off for that.

Is easily annoyed by bad drivers, and will mutter insults at smaller offences. Will resort to flipping people off and honking if it’s more serious. The only time he got really angry and almost got out of his car is the time someone nearly t-boned him.

Ruggie Bucchi

A good driver has the occasional slip-up, but still good. Learned how to drive so he could take care of his Grammy and community. Leona gifted him the car so he can do tasks.

Listens primarily to the radio and CDs (I see Leona gifting him an older car). The CDs were discounted at Sam’s shop, or some of the parents from his community gave them to him. They mainly consist of classic rock, R&B, and ’80s-’90s top hits.

His phone isn’t usually on silent, since he’ll probably get a call from Leona or his other dorm mates. Also, he doesn’t want to miss a call from back home.

He keeps his car clean and doesn’t have many decorations. The most he has is an air freshener and a gift he got for his birthday one year. Keeps any coupons he can find in a ziplock bag in the glove box.

Just sighs to himself whenever someone is riding his ass or otherwise being annoying or rude. He’ll take mental note of the car plate depending on the circumstance and report it.

Jack Howl

Defensive driver and drives a bit slower than the speed limit due to his experience with black ice and bad winter road conditions.

He drives without any background music until he feels like he can handle being able to focus properly on the road. When he feels ready for music though, he probably plays a mix of everything but sticks mainly to something more mellow; he saves the fast music for working out and track.

His phone is on silent, and he is not touching it until the car is turned off. Plus Ace pings the first-year group chat so often that it would just prove to be a distraction.

He has a tiny cactus terrarium sitting on his dash (he super glued it down), and also has some other cactus and planted-themed items hanging about. He keeps a booster seat in his trunk in case one of his siblings wants a ride or he needs to pick them up (even if they’re old enough to not need it, he keeps one on hand).

Doesn’t get road rage, but does get disheartened from seeing irresponsible drivers.

You ended up turning your head all the way just to check who it was, but you didn't stop writing on your desk. This scared Ruggie for sure

"Gah! Y/n what is wrong with you?!" he jumps back and almost falls in the process. He'll laugh afterwards though, saying it was kinda funny and it might be a good prank to do on others.

- when yuu is sick, mentally drained/burnt out, or need something to cuddle with (say, grim has remedial lessons or is hanging out in another dorm/with ace and deuce), they often can be found at savanaclaw.

- leona usually pushes them onto ruggie or jack. but if yuu persists or ruggie and jack are both busy, he'll gently curl his tail around their wrist and pull them into bed with him. ".....Fine. - tbh though, ruggie's spent enough time with them to know how, when they're like this, they always latch on to soft, cuddly things. maybe nuzzle them in their sleep or rub their heads and ears. no, he and jack totally didn't accidentally find out firsthand. no way!

- ruggie was actually surprised that yuu thought HE was cuddly

- to keep them from randomly rubbing other therianthropes' ears or tails, he, jack, and leona supplied yuu with a bunch of plushies from the sunset savana and pyroxene. much to grim's and the other dorms' dismay

Savanaclaw’s Coffee Orders

That time when the Savanaclaw boys ordered at Starbucks

A/N: I was wondering whether or not to make this Starbucks trip thing a series, and figured “why not”. Also my sister was really looking forward to my Savanaclaw post. So without further ado:

Let’s restore your memory…

Listen, it’s pretty much canon that Leona has a very refined taste (thanks to the MasterChef/Culinary Crucible event)

So obviously, like I said for Ace, he knows his stuff when it comes to coffee (the Starbucks the Savanaclaw boys go to better have high quality coffee, or Leona’s throwing a hissy fit)

I think he’s likely to choose a drink with a stronger aroma, and less additives like milk or sugar

He usually gets a grande black coffee

Why? Not because he’s some boring grump, but because he actually likes appreciating the subtle aromas of coffee beans from different parts of the world

If he really feels like trying something different, he might get a cold brew (especially if it’s particularly hot out)

I especially think he’ll go for an Irish Cream Cold Brew

I don’t know why either, the vibes are just there

The first time he tried a cold brew, he totally did that thing where he held out the drink, nodded, said “not bad” (78% chance there was a smirk in there somewhere), and took another sip. The rest is history.

I feel like he’d just stay in the shop because he has no sense of urgency for college related stuff

And you bet Ruggie had to drag him out of a coffee shop at some point

He could care less about the terminology, honestly, it’s whatever

And no, he doesn’t care about that new drink everyone’s ordering, he’ll stick to his usual, thank you

Leona also canonically has contempt for baked goods (dude literally made fun of Heartslabyul for celebrating their Unbirthday party with baked goods, like shut up you weren’t even there)

No buying food for him, he’s either bringing his own meat supply or he’s eating nothing at all (wait, apparently you’re not allowed to bring your own food at Starbucks but it’s Twisted Wonderland, we can break rules here)

If he forgets to bring enough money for coffee, he is absolutely abusing his free water privileges

But let’s assume he’s either using Leona as his sentient wallet or using money he managed to steal from one of Leona’s wallets that he canonically just leaves hanging around his room in plain sight

Knowing Ruggie, he really isn’t picky with food or drinks, so I feel like he’d be up for anything depending on his mood (he seems like the experimental type, maybe willing to test new menu items if they catch his interest)

But if I had to say what he chooses most often, he probably goes for a grande hazelnut latte

And knowing all the crap he has to deal with from Leona, he probably always has to order it to-go

In fact, he probably has Leona’s usual memorized as well, seeing as Leona likes making Ruggie get stuff for him (as seen at the beginning of Episode 2)

I think you all saw this coming, but he’s absolutely going to order a doughnut with that hazelnut latte

I know Starbucks only has the glazed doughnut, but shhhh let’s pretend the Twisted Wonderland equivalent has chocolate frosted doughnuts because chocolate and hazelnut flavors are an unstoppable duo

I feel like he’d make it a point to avoid coffee, actually, at least on a normal day

I mean, drinking too much coffee wouldn’t be good for Jack’s fitness routine, would it?

But let’s say somehow Ruggie convinces him to have a cheat day this weekend so that he can join in on this Twisted Starbucks coffee run

In this case, I think he’d go for the Berry Prickly Pear Frappuccino

Why? Because I genuinely don’t think he’d go for anything too sweet like mochas, and the fruity Berry Prickly Pear layers would add a nice and refreshing kick to an otherwise creamy drink

Oh yeah, and he ordered it grande. He doesn’t really care about terminology, he just wants his drink

Like, he probably almost ordered it “medium” but then decided to ask Ruggie what the sizes are and avoided that mistake

But if he did order an actual coffee, it’d probably be a skinny latte, believe it or not

You know, cuz it’s not as many calories, and will, in the grand scheme of things, not take up a large portion of his daily intake

Anyway, he probably orders it to-go all the time because he likes being active, but if he decides to stay in the shop, it’ll probably be so that he can study in peace (cuz I can’t imagine it would be very productive to study in Savanaclaw, the dorm filled with hotheads and adrenaline junkies with fragile egos- *cough* but we’re not here to talk about that)

And as for what he’d eat, he’d probably get either a big meat sandwich or a salad with his skinny latte, and he wouldn’t get anything with the Berry Prickly Pear Frappuccino because it’s filling enough

Savanaclaw: Just offer Leona to take the responsibilities of Dorm Leader but he still gets to control all the dorm sports. (Also must offer lap nap privileges)

Octanvinelle: MC waits till Floyd's in a mood and offers to get Jade new terrariums. MC's outsmarted Azul before and can do it again, the eels are the wildcards.

Scarabia: Kalim could probably be convinced of anything, bless his heart. The trouble is making sure to keep Jamil as vice warden and take some of his workload please this overworked boy-

Hugging them for the first time pt 2

Heartslabyul Dorm & Savanaclaw {some are short some arent}  {Riddle, Trey, Cater, Leona, and Ruggie)

Y/n has been at NRC for a while and she's never hugged anyone (besides grim) until today. Y/n took in a deep breath before walking out the door of the ramshackle dorm with grim on her shoulder. {ps y/n is pudgy since thats what i am)

Riddle Rosehearts: HUG!THIS!BOY! (pt2) This boy is hella touch starved (mrs. rosehearts me trey and Che'nya just want to talk with bats) ribble froze up almost as stiff as a tree before he slowly melted into y/ns arms. The warm y/n gave off made him feel safe in her hold. He stayed in her arms for a good minute before slowly backing away from her “thank you for the hug y/n but next time tell me i don't want to accidently collar you in a panic” riddle said straightening his tie y/n nodded before walking off.

Trey clover: Trey gives off the vibes that he doesn’t like to be touched so he’s one of the few y/n would ask before suddenly hugging. Trey was baking some tarts (surprise surprise) when y/n walked “afternoon y/n how are you this evening?” trey asked as he put the tray into the oven “i’m good i just had a quick question to ask you if that’s all right” y/n started as she played with the end of her shirt. Trey looked at her as he whipped his hands off “of course you can! Is someone messing with you?” trey asked in his big brother voice y/n just chuckled slightly before shaking her head no “No big brother” she started with a tease which trey smiled before waiting for her to continue with her question “i wanted to ask if i could hug you. Nothings wrong! I’m just in a hugging mood” y/n said trey was shocked before chuckling “of course!” he said with a smile holding his arms out y/n was shocked for a second before smiling and quickly ran into his arms. He smelled like pastries and his hug was nice and softly tight. “Don’t ever be afraid to ask me for a hug just make sure i’m not holding anything before the hug though” he said with a smile as he pulled away y/n nodded before running off.

Cater Diamond: To find him just go to his live and there you go he’s sitting in the garden. Once y/n got to cater he just turned off the live and the next thing cater knew someone was hugging him. Cater looked down to see y/n which made him smile brightly before hugging her back “thank you y/n i really needed that” he whispered. Before cater could pull away Y/n took out her phone and smiled as she took a picture of them still hugging. “Here you go. Don’t post it till tomorrow though” y/n said as she sent the picture to him he nodded before walking off. Cater smiled before pulling out his phone and pulling up the picture.

Leona Kingscholar: Bold of you but also hug this lion. He just getting up in botanical garden when he heard y/n coming towards him “ herbivore” he said looking at y/n as she got closer to him, a soon as her arms wrapped around him he grunted, he looked down at her before wrapping one arm over her “how bold of you herbivore to run into the arms of a carnivore. You best be prepared for it all” he voice filled with smugness “bring it lazy bones” y/n said with a smile looking up at him. Leona huffed “maybe later i’m still sleepy” as he let her go and walked away but for the rest of the day leona was in a better mood.

Ruggie Bucchi: Be warned he might try to steal your wallet or food as a joke (95% of the time). Ruggie was just leaving sams shop when y/n suddenly came up to him and hugged him. At first he thought he was getting robbed then relaxed it was y/n “what was that for? I was about to bite you! Warn me next time!” ruggie huffed with a pout y/n just laughed before putting a chocolate donut in his mouth (where did the donut come from? magic). Y/n handed ruggie the donuts before running off ruggie just smiled and shock his head he never refused free food explicitly donuts and explicitly from one of his friends.
