"Excuse me?" Jazz's voice echoes in the meeting room in space. She gains the attention of the heroes immediately and sees them tensing up in at her appearance.
Behind her, he swirling green portal is open, waiting for her to return.
A blond, coat wearing man, curses upon seeing her and gives a half bow. "Princess Jasmine," he speaks up, eye twitching.
"What brings you here?"
At the greeting and reveal of her title, few others fall into bows, the lady at the head of the table, wonder woman?, gives her a smile.
Her eyes pin the green skinned man to his seat, who in return tilts his head at her.
"My brothers birthday is soon," she focuses on the man again. "I'm simply here for a present."
The man tenses, another curse slipping. "Ah– king phantom, right? I wasn't aware his birthday would be so soon."
Jazz ignores him, calmly walking to the Martian and placing a picture of Mars before him.
"The tales of your people have brought much interest to my brother. He became a big fan." She tells, sharing her intentions at his light poking.
"I ask for a signature, it would make his day."
Martian Manhunter, alien hero, and once upon a time, a father even smiles. He's delighted yet feeling a deep-rooted sadness. The tales of his people continue to spread in the afterlife, it seems.
Jazz leaves quickly after, not before giving Diana a number, they are cousins after all.
Danny will love her present.

Dp x dc AU - If the Internation Space Station orbits the Earth 16 times a day, then so does the Watchtower.
Danny’s on track to move out of his parent’s house and move to Gotham for college (He swears that Sam bribed the board to let him in- and she wasn’t even going to that university!) but the dorms don’t open for another three days and he cannot wait to escape. Seeing his parents try to perfect yet another weapon to use against him while he changed out the ecto filters on the portal was too much. He’s completely over the idea of staying when he already has everything packed and ready to go.
The solution? Take all his boxes into his haunt in the Ghost Zone, leave them there and then spend some time in camping in space. He’s already explored the Infinite Realms enough to be bored of it for a minute (not to mention he wants to avoid getting more ‘favors’ to do from Clockwork) and hell, he just wants to see some stars.
He grabs his tent, a sleeping bag and all the food and things he could need and brings it into the atmosphere with him. Keeping it all tethered to him, Danny stays in a fixed position above Gotham (Cause that’s where he’s going next, duh) and treats himself to some quality Me-time.
Only problem is that several times a day he has to make himself intangible while he lets satellites and things pass through. Easy enough and honestly pretty interesting to observe as a wannabe engineering student.
He doesn’t know when exactly it happened the first time- but it turns out the Heroes of Earth all congregated in a satelite office building? It was bigger than the ISS! What the heck!?
Going intangible but not invisible, the JL spot Danny and are incredibly confused how an ‘Alien’ teen just happens to appear in their meeting rooms disappearing at the rate (slowly but surely) of the Watchtower moving through space. Was that camping gear? How was he roasting a marshmallow? Did propane camping stoves even work in space??
16 times a day they get the opportunity to ask Danny a few questions. He mostly ignores them or gives them joke answers. Eventually Martian Manhunter phases through the Watchtower to join him.
They talk about how hard transition periods in life can be and having strained relationships with family. J’ohn returns to the watchtower on its next cycle and reports that the kid is just fine, being an adult is just a hard thing to do.

hello dp x dc fandom i have. a concept for u
so one of those 'Phantom meets the Justice League' fics (maybe with Ghost King!Danny?) and Danny's trying so hard to be as Mature and Adult as possible so they take him seriously and he makes a good impression. he's practiced this with Clockwork he can Be Professional he's totally got this
most of the League is ranging from diplomatic to outright suspicious (cough cough Batman) of this powerful unknown entity who apparently comes from an entire species of extradimensional creatures they had no idea about
J'onn J'onnz, local telepath, is watching this go down knowing full well that Phantom's thoughts are swinging wildly between 'holy shit i'm in SPACE this is so cool i get to meet the JUSTICE LEAGUE oh man they're so awesome' and 'ancients PLEASE think i'm a Mature and Capable Adult'.
(EDIT: i don't plan on writing this shower thought into a fic but if anyone wants to, feel free! just plz give credit in the notes or something :3)

What are your thoughts on Martian Manhunter saying "it's unpleasant in Batman's mind"?
I’m sure it IS unpleasant. Though I always wonder if that’s for the stereotypical reason (he’s traumatized and sad) or for other reasons.
His thoughts move too quickly compared to others
His mind is compartmentalized and there are several discrete thoughts happening all at the same time
It’s hard to break his concentration so getting inside his mind is already difficult and draining
Staying inside once his mind reacts to J’onn’s intrusion is even more difficult
His mind actively fights J’onn even when he’s invited in/welcome
Half of his thoughts are data/numbers
He thinks in and out of various foreign languages which can be hard to follow
He shields various thoughts so it’s like walking down a cold corridor where all of the doors are slamming shut as you approach
There’s a low-level stress/inflammation in his mind at any given time, entirely unrelated to past trauma, and it makes J’onn exhausted by proxy

10. What is your favorite genre book to recommend to someone who doesn’t usually like that genre?
Usually when people ask me for a rec for a genre they don’t usually like, they are asking for sci-fi, and I start by trying to figure out different access points based on what they already like. I’m not much of a hard sci-fi person, tending more to the space opera and political thrillers, so here’s a few “if you like x, maybe try y”:
If you like romance, give Everina Maxwell’s Winter’s Orbit a try. It’s definitely sci-fi in setting and plot, but it also hits nicely in the formulaic patterns of a arranged-marriage, strangers-to-lovers story that will help you through it even if the sci-fi elements are throwing you off. The author has another similar book that increases the sci-fi elements and is enemies-to-lovers as well, so if you like Winter’s Orbit, Ocean’s Echo is a good next step.
If you like non-fiction, The Martian by Andy Weir is a great pick. I have multiple friends who got into reading again as adults via The Martian. It’s well-written, well-grounded, funny, and very sci-fi. If you’ve already read it, then maybe give To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers a try. It can be described with all the same adjectives, plus it’s a short novella, so if you’re hesitant, it’s less intimidating.
If you like mysteries or political thrillers, boy is there a lot of great sci-fi out there for you. The crux of a lot of sci-fi is space or high-tech settings with a plot that asks questions about personhood, and that mixes really well with detectives and spies wandering around trying to solve problems and find truths. Try Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells (it’s partway through a series of great books and novellas, but that one’s the most traditional mystery plot) or A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine (ambassador solving her predecessor’s mysterious death while trying to do his job)(I’d also recommend this one if you read a lot of classics) EDIT: just realized I mistyped - book 1 by Arkady Martine is A Memory Called Empire.
If YA/ Bildungsromanen/ New Adult figuring the world out through trial and error is often your jam, try Provenance by Ann Leckie (for the kid who really wants to do things right) or The Warrior’s Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold (for another kid who wants to do things right, but is also a high-energy chaos gremlin).
If you like fantasy, you probably already have read some sci-fi; it’s all under the speculative fiction umbrella and genres are vague anyway. All the same, I know this is the Locked Tomb Website, but give Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir a shot (it’s got magic and mayhem and an epic locked-room whodunnit mystery). The Best of All Possible Worlds by Karen Lord is also good - it has a team of people traveling together and thinking about morals and discovering new abilities, plus some romance.
I’m sure there’s lots of genres I’m forgetting right now, but feel free to send me another ask for any specific one!

Thank goodness white martian and green martian live together in harmony in your comic. Not the stupid unbelievable thing about how green martian oppressed white martian treat them like second class citizen not perfect allegory of racism
Does green and white martian ever married to each other
Green and white martians can't become life partners. They're two different categories of martians (average martians vs cosmic martian). Since Mars itself creates white martians, there isn't an inherit need for white martians to have to procreate or have romantic relationships. A few white martians do make romantic connections with each other though.

Tired: the league getting mad at Bruce's contingencies [] Wired: the league arguing about who's contingencies are cooler
Batman, trying to maintain his Spooky Vibe: I have contingencies to take down all of you-
Flash: yeah yeah we all know. Like how if I go evil you’d probably provoke me into running myself into nothingness or something, that’s boring :( can you make a better one?
Green Lantern: Ha, loser
Flash: HEY. Well YOUR contingency is getting covered in yellow powder, that’s even stupider!
Green Lantern: at least it’s not as bad as Superman’s! His contingency is just getting a small rock thrown at him!
Superman: hey :((
Martian Manhunter: My weakness to fire is well enough known that I have no doubt my contingency plan involves a flamethrower or perhaps firebomb
Batman: Hn.
Wonder Woman: I do believe my contingency is the best. All of you would be involved in taking me down with a variety of magical artifacts until I’m eventually worn out and can be captured
Flash: okay, that one is pretty good
Captain Marvel: oh, yeah. Wonder Woman wins
Green Lantern: Hey, what’s Captain Marvel’s plan?
Batman, Done With Them: Because he’s a magic powered hero, my theory is that if I can get enough magic users and components together, an elaborate spell could be cast to rip away just enough of his magic to incapacitate him
Green Lantern: shit, that one’s really good too
Superman: Would that even work?
Billy, Champion of Magic (this plan would not work), has a very easy way to get depowered (get him to say the magic word): haha, yep! That would just about do it. Lol.

You know, I've seen so many prompts and fics that involve Danny looking uncanningly similar to the waynes despite not being related, that the batfam themselves believe he's some sort of clone.
But I've actually never seen the same prompt done with Superman, of all people.
I mean, come on, black hair, weird blue eyes that glow a bit too much. Let's not forget the basic powers.
So first would be Clark spotting Danny somewhere in public and going "Wow a teenage version of me". He goes to walk on with his day but backpedals mentally.
Realization "Wait a teenage version of me?"
The second thing that comes to my mind is that Clark somehow spots Danny breathing cold mist onto a hot drink to cool it down. Hijinks ensue after that.
Super strength? Check
Laser eyes and laser hands (do we count that Danny can shoot lasers from his butt? Yes? Ok)? Check
Clark would probably think he's a meta at first, but then add the menagerie of powers and the idea that the kid might be a kryptonian on some level start to creep into his mind.
Until he sees the powers that Kryptonians don't have.
Invisibility?
Density Shifting? (Intangibility, but potato potatoe)
Minor Shapeshifting?
So he recaps.
Kid he doesn't know looks like a younger version of him that is going through a teenage phase.
Kid has most powers Clark has and some he does not have.
The weird color inverting transformation.
Que mental math gone wrong resulting in:
"Oh this kid is obviously some sort of clone that was experimented on to get more powers"
Who knows? Maybe Clark has the kid on careful watch and surveillance until a JL meeting where everyone catches up and he probably goes.
"Oh yeah I've been seeing this kid that looks like me and I think he might be a clone but also he may have martian DNA because he has powers I don't have and-"
