tris enban | tris enban (equal stripes) trans enban | cis enban trans man | cis man trans woman | cis woman
(The enban, man, woman parts can be replaced with other words like nonbinary, enby, boy, guy, male, girl, gal, female, etc.. Tris is short for transcis/cistrans.)
Flags for these terms already exist (except maybe tris nonbinary), but I wanted to make my own versions just for fun.
-
Trans nonbinary is a combo of the trans and nonbinary flags' colors. I edited the trans pink and nonbinary yellow to be less eyestrainy / have slightly more contrast. Cis nonbinary is similar to the other cis flags I made here, but I only used one grey stripe for cis because nonbinary has 3 main colors, and I wanted to keep the 5 stripe format. (The cis flags are also vertical, because I think it helps differentiate them from other flags.) Tris nonbinary uses the tris flag as a base, with an added yellow and purple stripe from nonbinary. The outer stripes were also made more grey, for the grey stripe from nonbinary. I chose to combine the white and light grey stripes, since they're very similar.
For trans man and cis man, the top/left blue stripes come from this man flag, and have the same color meanings. The light pink and blue stripes (slightly edited to be less eyestrainy), come from the trans flag, and represent being trans. The light greys are grayscale versions of the blue colors, and represent being cis.
Trans woman and cis woman follow a similar pattern. The pink stripes come from this matching woman flag, and also have the same color meanings. The light pink and blue stripes (slightly edited to be less eyestrainy), come from the trans flag, and represent being trans. The light greys are grayscale versions of the pink colors (notice how the greys are slightly lighter than the blue's greys), and represent being cis.

Random but what that anon said about the anti male-lesbian people reminds me of how SO many people seem to flat out not understand or realize that cis people can have funky gender stuff going on too, like for example how genderqueer literally includes cis folk too but nobody even acknowledges it, people just box all cis folk as if they're all cisnormative which is pretty ironic since it's like people think it's okay/normal for cis ppl to be GNC (mind you they always just think of it in a presentation sense and not understand GNC can also be like connected to a person's experience/gender & stuff) but the moment someone is cis but like is aligned with a different gender, identifies as cis yet in a different way, is multigender and cis, etc etc people either get mad or confused
Anyways sorry for the rant/vent, it's just been really bugging me since Im cis and use contradictory labels so I feel like I'm not "queer enough" or don't belong in spaces and stuff
I get it, like i feel like talking about cis people when trying to talk about transphobia or whatever is hard because it's not like cisgender is binary so trying to talk about those people like transphobic cis guys is harder.
I think trying to be inclusive with how you talk can seem easy but when you learn a lot and now you know cis people aren't exactly always binary with their gender, so talking about someone who is not in the LGBTQ community can be hard but you could probably just say it like that. People not in the LGBTQ community.
(I bring all that up cause I dunno I thought about it)
Gender is funky, boxes are meant to be broken or be usable in time, sometimes you have to be simply about it (like the people not in the LGBTQ community thing)
Honestly you said enough for me, I can't come up with something more.

when i first encountered the term "genderqueer," i was given a broad definition that meant "queer relationships with gender," and the word was used as an umbrella term.
i want to bring it back. i want to make usage of the word genderqueer as an umbrella term for all queer experiences with gender popular again. i feel like we need it.
because there are tons of queer experiences with gender, and listing them all is exhausting, and you'll always inevitably miss something (because of diversity and complexity of the topic). so i feel the need in some umbrella term for these situations. and i remembered that such a term exists already!
so i'm going to use the word "genderqueer" as an umbrella term for queer relationships with gender and trying to make it well-known again.

tris maverique | trans maverique | cis maverique tris intersex maverique | trans intersex maverique | cis intersex maverique
(Maverique can be replaced with other related words, like mav, mave, maver, etc. Tris is short for transcis/cistrans.)
I made some other trans/cis/tris + intersex flags for man/woman/nonbinary, and decided to make maverique versions too :)
-
Flag colors:
The upper 3 stripes of tris maverique are from tris, and the lower yellow and orange stripes are from maverique. The yellow and orange stripes for the rest of the flags are also for maverique, and in the case of the intersex variants, the yellow from intersex is combined with the maverique yellow into one stripe.
The pink and blues stripes of trans maverique are from trans.
The grey stripes in cis maverique are de-saturated versions of maverique yellow and orange colors, and represent cis.
Tris intersex maverique follows the format of @neopronouns' tris intersex man/woman flags. The center purple circle is from intersex, and the blue, dark magenta, and dark purple are from tris, like in tris maverique flag.
Trans intersex maverique is like the trans maverique flag, except the center stripe is yellow instead (as that's the format that seems fitting/common for intersex flags), and a extra yellow-orange stripe to keep the 5 stripe format.
Cis intersex maverique is like the above. Just the center stripe changed to yellow, and an additional yellow-orange stripe.
There's also yellow outline, and no outline versions, of the intersex variant flags. They mean the same thing, I just thought both looked good, so they're just alt versions.
-
(Do people even read the long flag explanations I type out? Maybe not, but I still feel it's important to explain.)

my gender so cool I think you'd like to hear it... so I'm boyflux because obvvy sometimes im Really Guy and sometimes i'm Really Not (neutroisness 4 me). However! i am bigender also in the sense I always have agender as apart of my identity. but then you might think well how do you have both a fluctuating and static gender why do they do that... ezpz. my boyflux gender is like an opacity lever. the lower the boyness the more neutrois and the clearer my agenderness is and vice versa. so cool
Tumblr media
Ooh, this is a really cool way to visualize how genders behave, by seeing it as a sort of opacity slider.
For me, it's always been two static entities (two genders) revolving around some kind of "core" - like planets revolving around a star. Every so often, one of the planets eclipses the other, so it feels like there's more of one gender than the other. So, I have two static genders that change from time to time.
Gender is so fucking cool. - 💙💚

I saw you mentioned CisTrans folk in a post, what does that mean? Does it mean both being cis and trans? (which I genuinely don't understand how you could be both at the same time) or does it mean cis folk and trans folk separately? (/Genuine questions)
Hey! Yep, it means people that are both cis and trans!
There are many different reasons why a person may identify that way, but a few are:
Being intersex, and never feeling like you really fit into either of the cis genders, due to the concept of gender feeling like something out of reach (not being "adequate" enough to be a girl, but not a boy either, going into bathrooms and getting complaints no matter whether you go into the men's or women's, etc.),
Being POC, not fitting into the concept of cisness or transness due to them having to deal with white beauty standards and racism, and having to fight to have a gender at all
Being a part of a certain culture that has a completely different concept of gender and therefore not fitting in the cis/trans binary,
Being multigender, such as both a trans man and a cis woman, both a cis man and a trans woman, perhaps even both cis man and cis woman etc.
And there are definitely more reasons, as queer labels are meant to be flexible, as there are so many different experiences and interpretations people can have about themselves, and one definition cannot and shouldn't be forced on everyone; the entire point of the queer community is to accept and celebrate the diversity of people's experiences
Every gender, sex, and orientation self-identification binary is going to have some people outside of it, and this includes cis/trans
If you'd like to know about these experiences in more detail, here are some posts!:

💛💜💛
It’s almost like we are forgotten by the entire community, the situation of intersex people is always let in the shadows when a lot of us are affected by a lot of the issues happening now,The Trans Genocide,Abortion not legal anymore and a lot of things affecting trans people too.Thank you for highlighting this.
(hormonally intersex here PCOS btw)
Your Intersex Awareness Day reminders that:
- Micropenis jokes are intersexist and not funny
- Intersex genital mutilation (IGM) is still allowed in nearly every country
- AFAB TransFem, AMAB TransMasc, Cis Trans, and Cis Non-binary are important terms for many Intersex folks
Include Intersex folks in your activism.
