henry nods vigorously in agreement with his sister's words. it causes his blond hair to fall in front of his face, which he blows out of his way. he needs a hair-tie, & stat. the boy crosses his arms, his face serious. "it's not just the smell—it feels... off," he mutters, giving the mistletoe a wary glance. "like it's daring us to fight under it. guess uncle seth was right. but please don't fight our parents. pinky promise us." he sticks out his pinkie towards his dad expectantly. Okay, I have made a list of the 7 tiers of DC popularity, this is mostly focused on DC projects outside of the comics while they may be popular within comics they are nearly unknown to those who don't actually read the comics. I am using the term "project" for anything outside of comics books (TV shows, movies, games).

Top (1) tier:

Batman, I don't have to explain this one

2nd tier:

Everyone know these characters if they are a fan or not, has been in many popular projects throughout their times, and has at least 1 project named after them and has been a main character in many many more.

Examples: Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Barry), Harley Quinn, Green Lantern (Hal)

Dick Grayson is also in this category, but he doesn't have a name title by himself, but he does share a title, so he is still aloud here (also, let's be fr everyone knows who Robin is)

tell us more about you Dream Outlawsss

So important context for this is that the dream version of my dream outlaws happens in the dream alternate timeline that exists in my mind in which I attempt to write the classism and psychophobia out of Jason. Ideally, I'd love to write these fics someday so, spoilers for fics I haven't written yet I guess?

However, I do believe that with the exception of some, I believe, very noticeable exceptions, a lot of this roaster would fit into a more or less canon compliant version of the Outlaws, especially with Rebirth.

The other thing is that you don't get fired from being an Outlaw: one of the goals was to have a team that's more of a found family than a group of coworkers. (And I do mean found family, not adopted nuclear family, to clarify. They're all banging.) However, I do need to keep a manageable roster, so depending on where we're at in the story different people might be on the active roster based on different plot points; but take in account that if a character is mentioned in an active roster arc, they are permanently considered an Outlaw.

Reasons Why I Think Jerome Adams is Oedipus. [CHAPTER 13 SPOILERS]

So in the recent events of Main Story 13, we see that Luke finally confronts Oedipus about the drug or, should I say "cure", to Luke's illness. I had my suspicions before, but we have incriminating evidence of this being true in this chapter. Let's go through the facts together:

Oedipus

There are things we know about Oedipus:

He has contacted two individuals within the Story; Skye Harper, the nurse who murdered both Tyson Turner and Gerard Boone's mother by injecting the NXX drug into them; and Luke, receiving an unknown drug with a note from Oedipus that says "try to live on" and meeting him under the guise of a Teddy Bear mascot, sending children to bid Luke his little cryptic messages.

Knowing these facts we can concur two facts from this:

Oedipus is someone who has access to the NXX drug.

Oedipus has access to the hospital to be able to sneak the drug into Skye Harper's hand and a part-time job as a mascot (or several) to be able to relay the message to Luke.

Oedipus knows a lot, he's always at the right place and the right time: about the NXX investigations and the whereabouts of the NXX team if he can figure out who Luke is and where he is.

The only person who would fit this criterion is a little freaky Where's Waldo ass mf with a ridiculous amount of part-time work he could probably use as covers aka Jerome Adams. (Seriously, it's like he knows to be at the right place at the right time every time.)

Here is his character description from the wiki:

Thus we can see that Jerome meets all the criteria because: 1. Access to the NXX Drug - "Jerome claims the Gladiolus Valley Research Center as his former employer", We have also seen several scenes of him previously in the Gladiolus Valley Research Center conversing with Wilson Surge,

2. Access to the hospital - "As a facilitator, he volunteered at various hospitals throughout Stellis." 3. He's aware of the NXX Team's presence and can be at the right time and place. Holding multiple part-time jobs such as a convenience store clerk and a food delivery service (and this time a bear mascot) gives him cover for his activities.

But the most incriminating evidence we have is actually within the exchange between Luke and Oedipus himself.

This is undoubtedly something Jerome Adams would do because: as established in the previous chapters, Jerome Adams works in a hospital and he has handled kids as well. This exchange coincides with all the facts previously mentioned. Ultimately, there's just too many threads that connect Oedipus and Jerome Adams together.

But why is he doing this? I can think of two reasons:

The reason why he is choosing to cooperate with Luke: In this chapter, we can see that both Oedipus and Luke have something to gain from this. Oedipus can run "clinical trials" for the NXX drug on Luke, and well... Luke doesn't have much of a choice here either, does he?

Despite Jerome freaky freaky ways, ultimately, I believe that Jerome has "good intentions" despite his very... twisted way about going about things. I can't wait to see what the new chapters have in store about is backstory and his ties with the NXX drug.

I think there's a reason why Jerome/Oedipus seems to always be hovering around the NXX team. Perhaps we're getting closer to the truth or perhaps he's trying to cooperate with us. But, I don't think Jerome/Oedipus is an enemy if anything, he's more like a third party that is working independently. I could imagine him working together with the NXX team (for a short while perhaps before they start getting at each other's throat again), or maybe even sacrificing himself in the end to ensure the NXX team gets to the root of the problem. That said, I have several other theories storming up in my brain regarding the NXX drug and how all the boys tie in all of this as well.... in another post.

K so Bruce is dead, the mantle of the bat is sort of being filled by Cassandra, dealing with the rogues gallery, and Red Hood deals in the miscellaneous threats like the street gangs. The other bats are still there in support rolls of course, babs as Oracle, tim investigating, ect....

Specific

Main bad guy: Deathstroke

Very simplified plot - Slade tries taking over Gotham using his mind control serum and Jason calls on an expert to help. Unfortunately, his friend and his sister don't exactly get along.

Playable characters: Cassandra as the Bat, Jason as Red Hood, and Rose Wilson.

Cassandra has access to most of Bruce's stuff and plays the closest to him, but her 'detective vision' has her reading her opponents body language instead of a scanner. She also utilizes swords and knives over batarangs. She moves through Gotham with a grapple and gliding wings. (Movement similar to Arkham Batman moving around Gotham)

Jason has his guns, he has to use ladders on buildings and has climbing shoes to scale. He can jump from building to building, but he is slower and much heavier than Cass. His visor shows him tactical information and weak points, also connects him to databases with information on whoever he is scanning. (Movement is of a heavy strong character, like wolverine in the wolverine origins game)

Rose of course uses her swords, which she can use to climb up and slide down buildings. Rose utilizes a lot of parkour to move. Her form of 'detective vision' is her using her precognition to see where enemies will be ahead of time, with phantom versions of them moving ahead of them. ( Movement is similar to the assassins creed series)

Basic idea for looks

I think Rose would incorporate more red and white than this, but this is the vibe.

Specifically so that Rose can tease him about Red Hood not actually wearing a red hood.

Each playable character can call in one of three options of other members of the family/friends to help in fights.

-Roy Harper continues as Red Arrow Cry of Justice simply does not happen and Lian is still alive, he will even go on to join the Justice League

-The Justice League will be very much led by Dick Grayson the line up will consist of

Flash: Bart Allen will now be the main flash.. he will not be so sure he can do it again.. he failed.. he died.. and failed.. he will reconnect with his old friends in Manchester now all adults, him and Carol's relationship will spark, now working for Star Labs, Bart will get a job as a reporter at Picture News with Iris and we will see their relationship more Rival will return still possessing Max's body he will be the first big bad and it will give Bart and Max the closure they deserve, him and Bart will speak in the speed force where he will call him son before passing on, we will establish his rogues, the old rogues will still be on, barts old villains will hoin in too including White Lightning, Irey will become Barts Kid Flash

Wonder Woman: Diana will be working for the government and working to rebuild themysciras connection to earth, the amazons tactics have changed no visitors are welcome, Cassie will unleash her Olympian abilities more, she will cross over to earth two and meet Hippolyta Trevor the Daughter of Earth Two Wonder Woman, she will take on the name Fury, while Donna has uncovered a prophecy.. depicting the rise of an old God long defeated known as Typhon the Enemy of the Gods

Green Arrow: Ollie will still be married to Dinah, Robert Queen II will join the arrow family, Roy will gain a bigger role, Olivia Queen will be born

danny phantom characters don't have southern accents, i just like it. jasmine "jazz" fenton is the older sister of danny fenton, protagonist of danny phantom.

gotham university is part of gotham city. gotham city is where batman and other vigilantes reside.

lazarus pits are pools of dark green water in the dc universe that bring people back to life with heavy side effects.

justice league dark is a group of superheroes in the dc universe known for dealing with the magical, the occult or supernatural.

zatanna is a magician in the dc universe. she sometimes has a romantic relationship with constantine.

the infinite realms are the place where ghosts reside in the danny phantom universe. it can also be referred to as the ghost zone.

ra's, or ra's al ghul, is a recurring villain in the dc universe, often going against batman. he frequently is shown to have control of the lazarus pits.

doctor fate is a sorcerer in the dc universe. he's been shown to guide the justice league when dealing with different realms. the justice league is a group of superheroes that include batman, superman, wonder woman, etc.

jazz curses using the word 'ancients', referring to old ghosts in the danny phantom lore. this is a fanon habit.

red robin / tim drake is one of batman's / bruce wayne's sidekicks and adopted children.

one of the known lazarus pits in the dc universe is in arabia.

martian manhunter is a member of the justice league.

the bats refers to batman and his group of vigilantes.

pt 2

marinette dupain-cheng is the protagonist of miraculous ladybug. she carries out the role of paris superhero, ladybug.

chat blanc is a character from an episode by the same name. in it, her superhero partner, cat noir, is turned into a villain by the name of chat blanc. the episode show's a version of ladybug turned to stone by her partner turned rogue. it is caused by a butterfly effect that starts with a gift to adrien.

adrien agreste is a character in miraculous ladybug, acting as marinette's love interest and as cat noir.

gabriel agreste is adrien agreste's father, and the main villain of the show, hawkmoth.

peter parker is marvel's spiderman. in the film spiderman:homecoming, he fights a villain by the name of the vulture on a beach after said man steals a plane's cargo.

may parker is his aunt, and his only remaining family member.

the titans are a superhero group in the dc universe. multiple versions exist.

jim gordon is part of gotham's police force (his title depends on the version) and an ally of the bats.

dick grayson and jason todd are adopted sons of bruce wayne and vigilantes.

oracle is barbara gordon, daughter of jim gordon and a vigilante under batman.

amity park is the town the show danny phantom is set in.

superman / clark kent is from the dc universe. metropolis is the city he protects. he has many powers, i cannot list them all.

tucker foley is best friends with danny fenton in danny phantom.

the baxters are dash baxters' parents, a character from danny phantom.

mr. lancer is a teacher in danny phantom.

sam manson is danny fenton's other best friend.

pt 3

ghosts in the infinite realms can have weird characteristics and not look entirely human.

ghost lairs are what a ghost home is called.

iron man is a marvel superhero. in spiderman:homecoming, he takes on spiderman as a distant protege.

danny phantom being ghost king is fanon but i like it.

kingpin is a villain in a few marvel stories, including spiderman stories.

for the purpose of this story, marvel superheroes mentioned almost always operate out of new york (however, this could be retconned).

lois lane is superman / clark's love interest in the dc universe. for this story, she's his best friend.

danny fenton becomes half ghost by turning on the ghost portal while inside. he dies but revives. sam and tucker were there.

pt 4

ra's al ghul is leader of the league of assasins, a frequent adversary in dc comics. not sure if the league cannonically guards the pits, but that's the story i went with.

clockwork is a highly powerful ghost in charge of time in the danny phantom show.

princess dorathea is a character and ghost in the danny phantom show.

fright knight is second-in-command and the ghost king's minion in danny phantom. he serves under danny in my story.

the observants are all-seeing beings that watch over earth and the infinite realms. they can't get involved in stuff, but they can ask others to do their bidding. in the show, they're not fans of danny.

if you're unsure who jason todd is, he's alluded to in the final part based off of description.

the observants cannonically have a different appearance. i've tried to make them creepier here.

i'm not sure if the observants' tribunal was shown in the series, but for this i'm making it a church lol.

from here on out, arsenal / roy harper is a character.

the moon hangs high outside the window, casting its pale light into the bedroom where henry & harper are tucked snugly beneath their blankets. the twins lie on either side of sam, their wings lightly tucked behind them, resting as they wait excitedly for their nightly bedtime story.

but tonight, miguel is there too, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed, grinning at the sight of his family. he can hear ethan, robby & tory nearby, cleaning up the kitchen after their dessert fest. the alexa is playing a gentle tune, which started to make henry & harper relax slightly. he pushes off the frame, walking over to the bed & sitting beside sam, close enough to the twins.

“alright,” miguel says, rubbing his hands together dramatically, “who’s ready for a story?”

“me!” henry shouts, his small wings flapping wildly as he grins eagerly. “i want a story about a warrior!”

“& magic!” harper adds, bouncing excitedly. “like mommy!”

miguel grins at her excitement. he nods, settling in as the twins’ eager eyes lock onto him. “magic, huh? well, lucky for you, i can make any story magical,” he says, ruffling harper’s hair with a playful wink.

@taughtmercy chimes in. “don’t you know?” she asks. “all good stories start with ‘once upon a time’… & they end with ‘happily ever after.’”

henry & harper exchange wide-eyed glances, already hooked.

miguel winks at sam, then turns back to the twins. “once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there were two brave heroes: a fierce warrior & a clever sorceress.”

“that’s us!” harper gasps, eyes sparkling.

“exactly,” miguel confirms with a smile. “the warrior was strong & fast, & no one on earth could match his skills or his dedication. he trained every day with his dad, & he always fought to protect those he loves.”

henry sits up straighter, his eyes gleaming with excitement. his wings twitch slightly, as though he can already feel himself stepping into the warrior’s shoes. “just like me?” he asks, his voice hopeful.

“just like you,” miguel echoes, his grin widening. “he had a big heart & always wanted to be like the heroes he admired most—but especially his dad, one of the kings of their fair land.”

henry puffs up his chest, imagining himself as the warrior miguel describes. his mind wanders to the countless times he’s watched his dada, his dad, & his papa train at miyagi-do, separately, together, & then with all of his uncles & aunts too, memorizing every kick, every stance. he’s going to be just like that one day, he just knows it.

miguel continues, watching henry’s proud expression with affection written all over his face, in his posture & eyes, before turning to harper. “& then there was the sorceress. she was smart & quick, & her magic was more powerful than anyone could imagine. she didn’t just use it for protecting those she loves; she uses it to help people. to make things better for everyone around her.”

harper’s wings flutter slightly at the mention of magic. her head tilts up toward sam, her eyes wide. “like mommy?” she whispers, her pupils momentarily flickering gold as she thinks about being exactly like her. the way their daughter is looking up at his fiancée, hoping that the sorceress in the story is just like her? it makes miguel’s heart melt into a warm, gooey mess, his body warm all over with pure affection, the love he holds for his children obvious. he firmly believes that harper already is just like sam in so many ways, both big & small, noticeable & unnoticeable.
