How Prevent Gifted Kid Burnout From a Gifted Silly whose Fire is still Blazing with Rage
1. EVERYTHING IS STUPID.
School is stupid, parents with unrealistically high expectations of you are stupid, teachers who overwork you are stupid.
You don't need their approval. You don't need to impress authority to have worth.
You don't need to be perfect, especially not in a broken system.
Test scores aren't a measure of intelligence. You are smart, even if the material was difficult to grasp.
You're not "wasting your potential" if you decide to pursue a career you love. Create art, write music, perform, you're contributing to the beauty of the world. There's more value in that than most people see.
You're not "wasting your potential" if you're an adult who isn't busting their butt in college or a fancy job. The economy is fucked right now, and being an adult is hard. You're doing your best.
And sometimes, you can't be at your best all the time, but you're trying, and that's all that matters.
2. Don't let school ruin a passion for learning.
Just learn. Learn and love learning. Learn without school holding you down. Find your passions, and run after them. Pursue knowledge because it's fucking fun.
Research something you care about for fun, challenge yourself to learn how to complete that math problem, learn, not because you feel like you have to, but because you want to.
Never let school make you lose a love for learning.
3. They explain it more effectively than I can lol
I made a video game metaphor but, when I was finding the video that made me realize this I read another video game metaphor that explained it better, "So basically, as a gifted kid, I skipped the tutorial because it felt too easy. Then the actual game threw curveballs at me" (adorablehoe, 2nd top comment).

The fact that so many articles paint “gender dysphoria” as only something trans people experience is ridiculous.
The concept of societal gender has, and continues to, harmed cis people for a very very long time and causes cis folks to suffer similarly to their trans siblings.
While, yes, trans folks on average may have a greater sense of (and reaction to) gender dysphoria - a lot of that comes from actually understanding what that feeling IS and knowing how to combat it in the way they need.
Cis people, however, will sit there and be uncomfortable while not knowing WHY and when they are told “that sounds like gender dysphoria” they will say “no, that’s only for trans people” - and then… continue to suffer.
Additionally “Societal Gender Norms” depending on where you are in the world you are and what is “Girl” and what is “Boy” can change DRASTICALLY depending on where you are from or the culture you grew up in.
This is to say that, overall, people attempting to adhere to the “American Societal Gender Norm” as some “Universal Standard of Gender” are far more likely to be depressed over their gender presentation than in most other countries and societies in the world.
Why? Well… our standard of “Boy” and “Girl” is not only the YOUNGEST acting societal standard but it changes SO OFTEN that if you look at “The Standard of Beauty for Women” and “The Standard for Manliness” across the last 100 years you will see such dramatic shifts EVERY 10 YEARS which can cause increasing amounts of dysphoria as time goes on because:
1. The standard you grew up with and idolized is NOT the standard you live in NOW and you feel “out of sorts” with your gender.
Or
2. The standard you WERE considered “Womanly”/“Manly” in has changed DRASTICALLY with time and now you are no longer considered that DESPITE not changing how you present your gender.
This is to say… cis folks and trans folks deal with a lot of the same issues, and by breaking down barriers between statements like “YOU CAN NEVER UNDERSTAND (X TYPE OF PERSON)” we can realize that AS PEOPLE we are all more alike than things appear.
Be that by gender, color of our skin, sexuality, spirituality, or ANYTHING!
We are all human, we all suffer, we all grow, we all learn, we all cry, we all smile, we all are people among other people.
Kindness and learning about yourself and others helps everyone in the end.

DAILY REMINDER:
You have the right to have feelings, even if they are part of an unwelcome reality.
allow your feelings to be and accept them as they are.
the sooner you accept this fact the sooner you will ignore the 3D
for example: My crush does not want me back; I am hurt; I am entitled to be hurt; and I have the right to cry if necessary. Once I express all of those feelings, I will be able to get back on track because I know my crush will find me without any of my efforts because it is my reality.

remembering what you learn
we've all been there—cramming for exams, memorizing facts and figures, only to forget it all as soon as the test is over. but fear not, because there are some tried-and-true strategies to help you actually retain what you learn.
Tumblr media
engage actively: instead of passively reading or listening to lectures, actively engage with the material. take notes, ask questions, and participate in class discussions. the more actively you engage with the material, the more likely you are to remember it.
space out your studying: instead of cramming all your studying into one marathon session, spread it out over time. this allows for better retention and comprehension of the material. try to review your notes and study a little bit each day, rather than waiting until the last minute.
use multiple study methods: mix things up by using a variety of study methods, such as flashcards, practice problems, diagrams, and mnemonics. different study techniques activate different parts of your brain, making it easier to remember the material.
teach it to someone else: one of the best ways to really understand and retain material is to teach it to someone else. whether it's explaining a concept to a friend, tutoring a classmate, or even just talking through it with yourself, teaching forces you to think critically about the material and reinforces your understanding.
test yourself regularly: testing yourself is a highly effective way to reinforce learning and identify areas where you need to focus more attention. quiz yourself with flashcards, practice exams, or create your own test questions based on the material.
get enough sleep: sleep plays a crucial role in memory consolidation, so make sure you're getting enough rest each night. aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night to help solidify what you've learned.

존댓말
존댓말 (Jondae-mal) refers to the formal speech style used in Korean. It is characterized by a polite and respectful tone and is typically used when speaking to individuals of higher social status, strangers, elders, or in formal settings. 존댓말 is the opposite of 반말 (Banmal), which is the informal speech style used among friends or individuals of the same age or lower social status.
Here are some key features of 존댓말 (Jondae-mal):
1. Politeness: 존댓말 maintains a polite and respectful tone in conversations. It is used to show deference and respect to the listener or the person being addressed.
2. Verb endings: In 존댓말, verb endings are typically formal and polite. The verb stems are followed by endings such as -습니다 (-seumnida) for declarative sentences or -세요 (-seyo) for imperative sentences. For example, "먹습니다" (meokseumnida) for "I eat/I am eating" or "먹어주세요" (meogeojuseyo) for "Please eat."
3. Honorific expressions: 존댓말 employs honorific expressions and vocabulary to show respect. This includes using appropriate honorific titles, such as 선생님 (seonsaengnim) for teacher or 회장님 (hoejangnim) for chairman, and other polite phrases and honorific terms.
4. Formal vocabulary: In 존댓말, formal vocabulary is used to convey a sense of respect and politeness. It includes using formal terms for greetings, titles, and expressions of politeness.
5. Suitable for formal settings: 존댓말 is commonly used in formal situations, official documents, business settings, and when addressing individuals of higher social status or authority figures.
Using 존댓말 is considered appropriate and respectful in formal or unfamiliar situations, as it demonstrates proper etiquette and shows consideration for others. It is important to be mindful of the appropriate speech level to use based on the social context and the relationship with the person being addressed.
