We all always do General Lilia with Human Reader but NEVER
General Lilia and Fae Reader
What you gon do? Spit out another angst right in my face? Come fight me coward
My first thought to this was to raise an eyebrow and inquire: "How could that possibly be angsty? Fae Lilia falling in love with Fae reader, they could live their lives out the way they want, and have ample time to bask in one another company! Doesn't this sound like the perfect win-win scenario?"
But then it hit me like a truck.
General Lilia X Fae! Reader - The fae with a dream
General warnings: Gender-neutral reader, angst w/ no comfort. Not proofread. slightly rushed ending..? let me know if you have suggestions and I can update and edit accordingly.
TW: Morbid descriptions of Death, emetophobia. Please make me aware if I missed anything and I shall update this section.
General Lilia was used to seeing death all around him. Humans and fae alike fallen into the fire of war losing their lives for...what? Power over one another? A battle of whose race is superior? Seemingly meaningless in the end, for why should the fae fight to prove their worth to live equally in a world where humans simply feared their magic and mystery? That's what made Fae beautiful, after all. And if the humans could just come to understand that their magic isn't all that heinous, perhaps they could find peace with their existence.
That was what you had said, at least.
"All this fighting is just so...pointless," You sighed to the general in your shared camp, "If all they fear is our magic, don't you think we should have some sort of civil conversation to-"
"(y/n)." Lilia sternly said, a scowl on his lips telling you all you really need to know with his displeasure of the topic, "Humans will never understand us. They fear us, and that's all the reason they need to kill our people. Do not try and speak words of peace when they obviously have no interest in hearing us out." You bit your lip to hold back the words of disagreement, something so like you. Always a peace maker, not wanting confrontation, especially not with him.
But he also knew better than anyone just how reckless you can get to obtain that peace, every day that passes by he wishes you spoke to him first before jumping into the noble idea that ultimately took your life.
He noticed the way you fought became sloppy, he could tell you were holding back your magical abilities in some sick and twisted mercy for the humans. He admired how strongly you dreamed of a world where the two races could live in peace, but he was disappointed in how naive and stupid you were to hold back during a battle for your life and the lives of your comrades. The general made certain to make you aware your actions had consequences, breaking your heart in the process.
The long-haired male looked down at you in distaste, blood red eyes squinting in authority and lips tilted in a disgusted frown as he grabbed you by the back of your hair and roughly pushed you into the tent. You let out a feeble cry mix of shock and pain, tears pouring down your mud-stained cheeks as the rough force of his push left you plummeting to the ground.
"Your actions as of late have been incredibly foolish and put the entire army at risk, (y/n)," He growled, "What were you thinking? Sneaking off with a human?! Do not think I have not noticed this past month what you have been up to," His voice raised in fury, a low growl the back of his throat, "Why can't you understand that they don't-"
"They do care!" You cried out, "Lilia, please! T-they just need-"
"They need to back down from the war and stop slaughtering our people. If they cannot do that, then I need you to fight by my side, as my subordinate. Do not forget who your leader is here. I am your general, and you abide by my orders. If you continue to deliberately go against what we stand for, I have no choice but to remove you from this battle and banish you to scullery work. Humans do not care about peace, they do not want peace, and they have no intention of doing so. What in your right mind makes you think you could change that outcome? You are nothing but an easy target for them to potentially squeeze information out of. Nothing less, nothing more. Do you understand?"
Lilias heart broke at the sight of you remaining on the ground, slowly sitting up and nodding with the light in your eyes fading. He felt a knife twist in the pit of his stomach and thought back to a conversation he had with Baul the previous night.
"You give (y/n) far too much leeway! I'm sure you've noticed, but the past month they have been participating in sneaking away to talk to some...humans.
"I'm aware, Baul. I've been following them and listening in on their conversations from afar." Lilia grunted, prodding away at the fire. His companion scoffed at this revelation, raising angry eyebrows and pointing an accusing finger towards the General.
"You were aware of this?! Why have you not stopped it sooner? Are you agreeing with their silly fantasy of changing the hearts of humans and making peace with those...things?" His voice raised in agitation. Lilia avoided his gaze, for he knew Baul had a point.
"I understand your concerns, however, They truly have the intention of changing their hearts, and if anyone could, I want to believe in (y/n). They are very persuasive, and perhaps this war..."
"Will never end until the humans surrender. Lilia, You are allowing your feelings for (y/n) to severely cloud your judgment! We both know that stupid fae is too trusting for their own good. This could compromise our position, and I don't trust them to keep their mouth shut."
"I have it handled-"
"Do you?" Baul interrupted, standing up, "Because it seems to me you are failing your duty as the general of the fae army right now. Failing our queen, failing Meleanor. Have you forgotten which side you are on? How many of our people died by their hands? And you wish to believe a singular fae with silly dreams could possibly persuade them to put this war to an end?" Lilia kept his mouth shut, staring at the fire before him, hunched over as his partner walked past him.
"The general I follow does not show mercy for humans, nor allows his heart to be swayed by such drivel. I sincerely hope you take care of this issue before I handle it myself."
Lilia had told himself it was better this way, to straighten you out with harsh words in hopes to dissuade you from becoming overzealous and taking advantage of his obvious favoritism towards you. He had to draw a line; you were an important part of his army and to him. He couldn't risk losing you, someone who has stayed by his side from day one.
Sighing with frustration for himself and the situation, Lilia walked up to your silently crying figure and bent down, pressing his forehead against yours attempting to pull your gaze towards his own.
"I can't lose you," He whispered, eyes peering into yours wide with concern, "Please, please understand where I am coming from. You are the only family I know. Think of Levan, and Meleanor. Think of the Valley. Think of our home, our people, and...our future together," His voice trembled slightly, coming out almost in a begging tone. You bit your lip and swallowed a sob, taking a shaky breath in and reaching your hands up to cup his cheeks.
"I'm sorry," you whispered back, a moment of silence reigning.
He knew something was wrong the second you said that. You apologized, not as if you were guilty for your actions, but as if you were saying...goodbye. He could feel it deeply in the pit of his stomach that if he let go in this moment, if he allowed you to leave, he would never see you again. in a final desperate attempt he breathed in sharply before in a boost of confidence roughly pressing his lips against your own, ignoring the yelp of surprise escaping your mouth. You soon found yourself kissing him back with equal force, the sob that you held back coming to the surface as you cried into the kiss and salty tears pouring down your eyes and mixing with the passion. Lilia pulled away and pressed his forehead against yours once more, interlocking his fingers with yours. You continued to cry.
"We're going to make it out of this war together, right?" His voice cracked, "We-we're...we're going to live the rest of our lives together and happy in the valley with Levan and Meleanor, and we're going to meet Malleus together, right?" When you didn't reply and simply dug your head into the crook of his shoulder, the general held you tightly with his rough embrace and simply allowed silence to overcome. There wasn't anything left to say.
It was inevitable for him to let you go and return to his duties. He was general, after all, which meant plenty of meetings and strategy planning had to be done, as well as updates to the queen. You had said your goodbyes, stars had completely painted the sky and the sun fully set to rest. While returning to the camp, Lilia had a strong uneasy feeling as the events that transpired prior to his departure left his heart in a state of unrest and beating frantically, as if trying to tell the General something.
That unsettling feeling was confirmed when you were nowhere to be found, and you hadn't been seen for the past few hours when he had left. Angered at the lack of information and of the unknown variables, Lilia barked orders for everyone to disperse and try and find where you might have wandered off to. Many disagreed with this; stating that fae wandering off was not uncommon, that you were able to protect yourself, that perhaps in the morning they would search. Baul, in respect of Lilia, had been the only one to agree although reluctantly to involve himself in the search of where you had gone.
Light touched the forest before you were found.
dead.
I could go into gruesome detail, but I shall spare the details. All you need to understand is how it stood; a truly disgusting and unruly sight. The way you were placed was almost as if they were being taunted, and mocked. You were almost used as a morbid warning from the humans, it was a disgusting and disrespectful way to die. Baul and Lilia stared in absolute horror at your lifeless body, jaw ajar and heart racing faster than it ever had before. He thought about how mere hours ago his lips were upon yours, you were safe in his tight grasp, nodding in understanding as he listed off the ways in which you would live your long life together, making it past this horrible war.
Even the General could not hold back the urge to vomit, doubling over in pain and anguish as his throat burned and eyes blurry with tears. Baul had to look away, tears pricking the side of his eyes and biting his bottom lip to prevent himself from sharing the same fate Lilia had. You were gone, and there was nothing else to do but scream.
The second to worst part of this was returning to the camp, without you following him as you normally would. The generals eyes were truly dark and empty this time, heading directly to his tent. The same tent he had chastised you in, hoping to avoid this exact situation. He kept repeating in his head the ways in which the two of you would have lived together. He was supposed to propose to you after the war ended, he was supposed to build a home for the two of you to share your lives together, you were supposed to stay by his side and experience new places together, you were supposed to die together. There was nothing to explain just how badly his heart yearned for you in the many years you had known each other, the way you accepted him while most fae turned him away, you were a part of his circle of most trusted people in his life. And now you were gone, and he could not stop seeing flashes of your smiling face soon replaced with your lifeless display. A truly revolting truth of war, a war he was determined to end.
He then noticed on his bed, a letter. With shaking hands and blurry vision, Lilia weakly picked up the paper with penmanship clear as day to be identified as yours, and read it carefully.
Lilia Vanrouge,
I presume if you are reading this letter at this time, it means I failed to return from my mission. I'm sorry. I understand this is the part where you tell me "I told you so" and chastise me for being naive, and maybe so. Nonetheless, I have to do this. I plan on meeting with knight of dawn, the human I spoke to said he would be able to get me an audience and plead our case.
"that fucking idiot..." Lilia muttered, tears dripping onto the letter.
I know you are probably thinking to yourself; "that stupid idiot." And I suppose you wouldn't be wrong, even I know the high possibility of not returning. But I like to believe the good in humans, and believe that their fear could be placed at ease if we simply...talked. I understand not everything can be solved that way, but how are we to know the outcome if we do not try? You have your way of fighting, and I have mine. With my words. I love you, Lilia Vanrouge. I truly do. I wish we could spend the rest of our lives together, but I cannot see that happening if this war does not resolve with a peaceful ending. I implore you to find love in your heart for all- and love others the way you loved me. Give them your blessing, for I know you have a lot of good in your heart and room for growth. As the years pass, remember my sacrifice was for the pursuit of peace for our people, and you continue on that mindset. I believe in you and trust in you, Lilia, you will go on to do amazing things.
your love,
(y/n).
You soon became the foundation of what he believed in and continued to live on doing. After the war had ended, losing his dearest friends and beloved, Lilia stood strong in his resolve to make your sacrifice worth something. From hatching Malleus, to even becoming a father and giving the blessing to a baby human. Something you would have surely smiled at him for. With every milestone you were there with him; guiding him, parenting with him, and placing those very values you trusted into everything he had done. He had come far and liked to believe it was your words that strongly influenced him. You were right, your choice of fighting was with your words rather than your magical abilities, and it worked wonders.
Thus, there he was... Lilia Vanrouge, vice housewarden to Diasomnia of Night Raven College, watching as his three underlings sat at a table in the cafeteria enjoying a meal with a mix of races. He felt a surge of proudness and pride fill his heart with sentimental joy, sitting in the shadows re-reading that same hundred of years old note from someone he cared for deeply.
I believe in you and trust in you, Lilia.
A voice interrupted his thoughts, the short-haired fae folding the letter and tucking it safely back inside his pocket. A familiar figure walked towards him with excitement and a comforting twinkle in their eyes.
"Lilia~!" The curious human called out, The red eyed fae smiling in return and flashing a toothy grin.
"Ah, why if it isn't our precious prefect from Ramshackle. To what do I owe the pleasure?" He chuckled, floating upside down.
"I'm doing this project-" You said, holding up a notebook, "And I have to interview a few students about who impacts their lives the most. Can I interview you?" Lilia raised an eyebrow and floated down to meet your gaze, a gentle smile planted on his lips.
You were always a curious soul to him, and in many ways, he found solace in the way you spoke so cheerfully and hopefully that he had almost deluded himself into believing perhaps the fae he had once known had come back as the thing they held credence in the most; a human. That you had come back to give him a second chance to have confidence in you, come back to see what the world has accomplished in your absence, to give him peace of mind that the world has truly progressed and you were there to witness it flourish. Perhaps it was the shared name or the same sparkling eyes, but he couldn't help but have a soft spot for this human who had come into his life.
"I'd be delighted to assist you! Now, where to begin...? Ah! I know,"
"There once was a fae with a heart as noble and pure as gold, with a beautiful dream for peace across all nations..."

Having a family again
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
|After losing everything, you finally can have a family again|
Tw: mentions of miscarriage, being poisoned, angst and basically more angst but fluff ending!
Reader is a fae and lilias wife!
-
You let out a sigh as you quietly walked out the young prince's room. You were finally able to put the young prince to sleep after a long day of playing around and taking care of the future king of briar valley.
You smiled when you remembered how happy he was when you told him that your schedule for today was free and you can spend the whole day with him. The young prince let out a squeal as he hugged your waist.
"Really? We can spend the whole day together today?!" You gave him a nod and you saw how his eyes lit up with excitement.
"Can we go see the gargoyle statues today?! Oh! Can we get ice cream too! Maybe even going into town!" You couldn't help but laugh at the young boy's excitement as you nodded your head.
"We can, but first we need to eat breakfast before doing anything else. Say, would you like to help me prepare today's breakfast?"
The moment those words left your lips, you could see malleus beam at the idea of helping you cook in the kitchen.
"Yes yes yes! Let's go!" You smiled as you let him pull you towards the kitchen as he excitedly babbles about how fun today is going to be since you're free.
You walked around the palace halls as you decided to go make yourself some tea to help you relax after a long day in town with malleus.
You hum a beautiful tune as you walk the long halls to the kitchen. You loved malleus with all your heart but he sure did tired you out today. Maybe it's the old age finally catching up to you.
You chuckle at that. Once finally in the kitchen, you started making your tea as you continued to hum the beautiful tune all over again.
You took a seat when you were done and waited for your tea to cool down before you could drink it.
While waiting, your mind couldn't help but drift off to the same thoughts you always think about.
Having a child.
You knew that the possibility of having a child again will never happen. After all, the ability to have a child again was ripped away from you by ugly jealousy.
"What do you think?" You say as you twirl around to show off the new dress you bought.
"It looks lovely on you my love" Your heart couldn't help but flutter at the sweet words of your husband.
"You think so?"
"Mhm"
You giggle as lilia hugged you from behind and swayed you side to side.
"Oh what a beautiful wife I have~"
"Oh shush!" You say as you playfully slapped his arm.
"It's true"
You smiled as you turned around to give him a quick kiss.
"Aw I want more" You playfully rolled your eyes as you kissed him once more, but this time it was a long passionate kiss.
You were breathless by the time you two pulled away.
"I love you both" He says as he then kneels down to kiss your swollen belly. You giggle as you see the love and adoration in his eyes.
"Only 2 more months"
"Can't wait any longer for this little one. Do you think he will have my looks? Or yours?"
"Mmm, I don't know but hopefully my looks" You say as you let out a small giggle. He smiles up at you before getting up
"Hopefully he has your eyes"
"Are my eyes that pretty?" You ask him
"The most beautiful eyes I have ever seen"
You smiled before pulling him into another kiss.
You two were unaware about what was to come.
"What happened?!" He looked breathless since he ran as fast as he could after being informed about your current state.
"Lord Lilia!" One of the doctors yelled out before quickly walking over to him.
"My wife! What happened to my wife?!" The doctor couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness overcome him as he knew that the words that will come out of his mouth would destroy Lilia.
"Your wife…has been poison lord lilia" Lilia eyes widened as he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"How is my wife?! My child?!" He looked almost desperate to know the answer. He couldn't help but feel a wave of anxiety wash through his body as he anxiously waited for the doctor's response.
"Your wife is alright my lord, but…"
"But what?" The doctor sighs before looking at him with sad eyes.
"Unfortunately…your child didn't make it. We tried everything we can to also save the baby but not even our magic was strong enough to save your child from the poison"
It almost felt like the world stopped. He couldn't believe his ears. He didn't know what to say and he was just speechless.
"I'm very sorry lord lilia"
"My wife…does she know?"
"Sadly Mrs. Vanrouge isn't informed about the situation"
"She still hasn't woken up so we weren't able to tell her the news"
Lilia closes his eyes before taking a deep breath.
He knew that he felt heartbroken about the news and all he can think about is you. How you would react to such a thing.
"Mrs. Vanrouge is awake!" Lilia quickly ran to where you were as the doctor quickly followed behind.
Entering the room, lilia heart sank seeing you in such a state. You looked so tired and drained. He made his way to your side and took your hand in his.
"Y/n my love, are you alright?" He asks. He knows it's a dumb question to ask but he wanted to hear it from you. To know that you are fine.
"Mhm…and my baby? Is my baby alright doctor" Both lilia and the doctor tensed up and you notice the sudden change after mentioning your baby.
"My baby…is my baby alright doctor?" You asked. The confusion and anxiety in your eyes was enough to tear lilia heart apart.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Vanrouge, but your baby didn't make it"
You looked at the doctor before letting out a small laugh.
"Let's not make jokes now, please doctor tell me that my baby okay"
Your husband held your hand tight as you looked at him and then back at the doctors.
"I'm sorry" That was all you needed to hear before breaking down into a sobbing mess.
"N-no! This can't be! No no no no! My baby can't be dead!" You cry out as lilia holds you close to his chest.
You cried out in agony as you repeated the same words over and over again.
"No not my baby! Please not my baby!"
"I'm so sorry my love" He says as he holds you tightly in his arms. Both of the doctors left the room to give you two some privacy. But with the loud cries of agony, everyone most likely knew the devastating news of your baby.
It was later found out who was the reason behind you getting poisoned.
It was revealed to be some girl that was jealous of your relationship with lilia. She was envious of you for quote on quote "stealing her man" and getting pregnant with his child.
And so she poisoned you. But not with any ordinary poison.
It was the kind of poison to mess with your ability to have any children.
She wanted to make you suffer and so she went on to find this forbidden poison so she could end you.
Lilia was furious once he found out. He was disgusted with the ugly jealousy that reeked from that foolish girl. And he decided to give her a taste of her own medicine.
She was executed by having different kinds of deadly poison be injected in her.
That's what she gets for messing with his wife and child. His family.
After the execution, he made his way home. Entering the room, lilia was greeted by sniffling and small cries.
"My love…" He walks towards your shared bed and sits next to you.
"I'm sorry" lilia eyes widened as your cries got louder.
"It's all my fault..if I didn't accept that drink then this wouldn't have happened! I'm so sorry lilia!" His heart broke seeing you like this. He pulled you into a hug as he caressed your back.
"It's not your fault y/n. You didn't know her ill intentions so don't blame yourself"
"But because of me, we lost our child and I can't have any more kids because-"
"It's not your fault my love. It will never be your fault. We can get through this together okay?" He cups your face as you hiccup by how much you were crying.
"We'll get through this"
"I love you lilia"
"I love you too"
"Y/n!"
"Huh?" You looked down to see malleus tugging on your sleeve. How long have you spaced out?
"Are you okay y/n?" You smiled at the concern in his voice.
"I'm fine my young prince, now what are you doing up so late?"
"I- well…" You waited for him to continue and you noticed a small blush form on his cheeks.
"I-I had a nightmare"
"Nightmare you say" He nods his head and you pick him up.
"How about I stay with you until you fall asleep?"
"I would like that" You smiled at the boy before exiting the kitchen and walking towards his room.
You technically saw malleus as your own son. Since being by his side ever since he was an infant and practically raising him, you were more of a mother figure than his own.
Malleus saw both you and lilia as parental figures growing up. Seeing how you two were mostly in his life since he was an infant and basically raising him together, the boy saw you two more as parents then his actual ones.
Finally making it to his room you gently laid him down and tucked him into bed.
"I'll be here until you fall asleep okay?"
"Okay"
"Y/n?"
"Yes my prince?"
"Can you..hum me that tune you always hum? I like it and I think that will help me sleep"
"Of course"
You started humming the beautiful tune while caressing his head. You saw how he started getting drowsy and closing his eyes. Minutes later you heard soft snores coming from the young prince.
You smiled before giving him a kiss on his head and quietly making your way out of his room.
You went back to the kitchen to clean up. Your tea was already cold but you just poured it down the drain and continued cleaning up.
"Oh there you are!" You turned to see your husband, lilia.
"Oh lilia! I thought you were busy today?"
"I was! But…"
"But?"
"Well dear, during a short trip…I stumbled upon this little fella" You looked down to notice lilia cradling a small bundle in his arms.
You gasp when you notice what exactly he was carrying.
"Oh my..lilia is that a-"
"Child? Well yes"
"Where did you get this child from?!"
"Shh! He sleeping!" You quiet down when you see the baby shift in your husband's arms.
"Where did you get a baby from?!" You whispered at him.
"Well, as I was patrolling the area I started hearing noises coming from a nearby creek. And that when I found this little guy" he says as he shows you the sleeping baby.
"He looked tired and hungry, also cold! Can you believe it? He only had a thin layer of clothes on him and I couldn't just leave him there. So I took him and I had him checked by some doctors. Thankfully he was alright and only had signs of hunger and exhaustion"
"Oh you poor thing" Your heart arche at the thought of the poor baby being left out in the cold for who knows how long.
"Was there any signs of anyone living near the area?"
Lilia let out a sigh as he shook his head.
"No, seems to me he probably has been abandoned"
"That awful" You noticed the baby ears, and you saw how it wasn't pointy like fae's ears.
"It's a human child"
"Mhm, I'm surprised he lasted this long outside in this weather"
"While at the doctors, I got to bathe him and luckily there was some warm blankets to cover him up"
"So he doesn't have any clothes on him?"
"No" Lilia nervously says. You glared at him before thinking on what to do.
"Do we still have some of malleus old baby clothes?"
"Oh we do! I keep them in our room since I was a little to emotional on throwing them away"
"Little to emotional?" You say with a raised brow.
"There under our bed inside a box" You giggle before leaving to go get some clothes for the baby.
After finding some clothes, you put them on the baby while trying to be careful to not hurt him.
"Has he eaten anything?"
"Yes I made sure he was fed when I was there"
"That good" Once you are done, you swaddle the infant before holding him close to your chest protectively. You looked down at the boy and noticed how he snuggled up against you.
You smiled
You didn't notice lilia staring at you and once you felt his eyes on you, you looked up to see beautiful Ruby eyes staring right at you.
"We should keep him"
"Huh?"
"He has nowhere to go…and I don't trust him with anyone else but us" You stared wide-eyed at your husband. You didn't know what to say but hearing the baby's small coos you couldn't say no.
"Then let's keep him" lilia smiled and joined you on the bed.
"Now…what should we name him?" You thought for a moment. You weren't expecting to have a kid let alone a boy at the moment. So figuring out a name in a short amount of time is troublesome.
"I don't know"
"Let's see…liam?"
"Mm no"
"Noah?"
"No"
"Albert?"
"Oh God no" lilia laughs and tries to think again.
"How about…silver?"
"Silver?"
"Mhm"
"That doesn't sound bad…I like it" you looked down at the little infant only to see violet irises staring back at you.
"His name will be silver"
You could almost tell the baby was happy with the choice of name which made you both smile. He soon then closes his eyes to go to sleep but not before holding tightly on your pinky with his small hand.
"Sleep well silver"
-
Bonus!
Malleus yawns as he woke up. The delicious smell of pancakes filled the air and he practically leaps out of bed to follow the delicious smell.
"Good morning my prince"
"Morning y/n!" He then notices lilia sitting down while drinking some coffee.
"Good morning lilia!"
"Good morning malleus" malleus eyes then shift to the bundle that lilia has in his arms.
"What are you holding lilia?" The older fae just smiles before signaling malleus to come closer.
When he did, he gasps upon being face to face with a baby.
"Meet your new sibling" malleus looks at lilia before looking at you and then down at the baby.
He smiles as he extended his pinky for the baby to hold. And giggles when the baby grabs his pinky with his hand.
"Meet silver"
"Silver? What a nice name"
Tumblr media
Idc what y'all say lilia would be head over heels for his s/o🙄 also the tune that reader was humming is once upon a dream! Not proofread since it's 4:41 in the morning and my dumbass is tired😣😓

Lilia Vanrouge Rambling
Scaring others and masking his true self Book 7 Spoilers!
I just got enlightened after messing with Lilia's Character AI and OH MY GOD, just some rambling, don't mind much
What if Lilia scares people only to get a reaction out of them? Like, only for the reaction, and not for the entertainment, but he does find amusement in that too. (He tells everyone that he did it purely for fun, so they won't see him as some creep)
He observes and collects every one of the reactions, and then tries them on himself to 'fit in' with the current times. To fit in with the kids these days, to understand them better (Silver, Sebek, Malleus).
People who are scared and taken off guard show their true self, acting on their natural habits, so can Lilia possibly study others moments 'off guard' to hide his own habits?
I like to think that Lilia started scaring people when he went to NRC, as in the cottage he lived in he didn't had many people to scare, and could act freely, not necessarily correcting his habits.
Also considering his past and his position, he also wouldn't have to worry about fitting in, as the others would try to change themselves according to his liking.
Correcting and changing habits, something like a coping mechanism, just like his cute self, being his response to the traumatic experiences from his past.
It's like he conceals his true self, his true thoughts and habits just to not scare the others and make himself seem more likeable and approachable. As he knows his boys aren't the most social ones, he does go out of his comfort zone for their sake, to not be too closed off of the happenings in school.
Making connections for them to communicate through and many more, Lilia does a huge work behind the shadows. Since he works from the shadows in a school full of humans, he does walk on eggshells sometimes, even if only intuitively, feeling like a spy.
And since he's feeling like a spy, he does change himself according to the mission, to ensure its winning end. And that's why, the reaction and habits of his surroundings are so important to him.
It was supposed to be way shorter with not much angst, but idk how it turned out. I feel like I heavily drifted from the main topic but it is what it is
It's almost 3 AM when I write and publish it and WHY CAN'T I HAVE A NORMAL NIGHT SLEEP? I just had to overthink it. I hope it's not too angsty and dramatic, my brain does not function now💤

Congrats on 1000+!! If the event isn’t over yet could you do Lilia + dance
here is fine !!! :D it wasnt over when you sent this in, dw <3
the last three requests are ALL lilia which i think is so funny.
ITS ANGSTY.....I AM SORRY.
LILIA VANROUGE + DANCE (1k event details)
~~~~~
Your first dance was on Ramshackle’s front lawn, under the stars.
His eyes were bright, like the moon above, reflecting the light he saw in you.
You were both aware that your light was dimmer than his.
Years passed and the two of you fell into an easy rhythm. There was hardly a doubt that you’d made yourself a home in Diasomnia, specifically the corridors leading to Lilia’s dorm. You were always around there somewhere.
You doted on Silver endlessly, helping him stay awake and breaking up scuffles between him and Sebek (that the latter always initiated.) Lilia would watch from the sidelines, laughing up a storm at how brave and caring you were.
The next time you danced was at your wedding. It was the second marriage between a fae and a human Briar Valley had ever seen, and it caused quite the outrage.
You tried your best not to cry that night, and you’re sure you only made it through because of your now husband.
It wasn’t long before Lilia could hear the clocks ticking. Your time was running out, it was running out faster than he would have liked, and it saw it in every movement you made.
You still danced with him.
At the end of it all, Lilia hadn’t changed much, except—
He does not dance anymore.
Daily Stupid Lilia Blurb: Five
Lilia kisses you like a person who’s about to lose everything and gain absolutely nothing in return. You can only hold him, bring him close and attempt to tether him away from the ghosts that nip at his heels. it's a futile attempt, in retrospect — both of you huddled in a corner of the room. It’s moments like these that remind how oddly frail Lilia is even if his body holds so much power that brings many to their knees, and yet his own agonies hold him down. It serves as a reminder to both of you: a reminder of the cost of the sword and the weight of his title as general. A weight that you fear may be too heavy for him to carry in the nearby future.
It’s fine. For now, at least, all you have to do is lessen that burden by holding Lilia and bringing close to you. Even if it only lessens the shouldering burden by a mere margin and nothing more.
(You’ll do anything to keep Lilia safe. Anything.)
This life and our next
Lilia x reader, I needed angst. GN!reader
This was new but hope it's good enough!
Tumblr media
In the rubble of the mirror chamber, amidst the screams of your friends and the tremors of the aftershocks from the dragon form of malleus' overblot, lies a body.
A body with long black hair and pale, lifeless skin and dull raspberry red eyes. A bloody smile and the forms of a found family mourning.
"Lilia! Lilia please, don't leave us!" You cry, heart pounding so hard that your chest aches and your breathing is harsh from the tears that flow like the stream that Lilia showed you, where he proposed.
"My Dove, don't cry. I hate it when you cry, my love." Lilia brushes his hand across your cheek, hoping that what warmth his body has left is enough to soothe your tears, for now.
Silver tries to hold back his tears as his father and his stepparent say their final farewells. "It was an honor to be your son, Lilia. Thank you for everything. We will never forget you." Silver knows if he speaks more than this, he will fall to pieces. Silver cannot cry yet, his stepparent needs him.
"Lilia! It has been an honor to train under you. Thank you for the years you've given us!" Sebek is audible over the screams of the teachers and other students.
Sebek looks so very fragile. You have never seen your boys look so pained. Not even when lilia would cook dinner.
Brushing your lips over lilias temples, nose, cheeks and finally his lips, you whisper "I know you have lived for so long that asking for you to stay any longer is selfish but..." You hiccup through your tears and finish your sentence.
"Please stay with me. With us. We want more time with you. I haven't gotten to walk down the aisle to you in your tux yet. We haven't gotten our first dance as a married couple yet. We deserve more time, my love."
You brush your tears to see him clearly, you want to keep him alive in your vision, your memory, as long as possible. Pressing another light, fluttering kiss to his lips, you feel him getting colder.
"I want nothing more than more time with you. I waited so long to find you. I had more love with you than I have in the past 500 years." Lilia squeezes your hand with what strength he has left and whispers. "I will find you in our next life, no matter what it takes. My dove, take care of yourself. I love you more than the stars."
Looking over to his son and his unofficial child, he calls out weakly. "Look after them silver, it seems I have nothing left to teach my sons." With a weak chuckle, Lilia closes his eyes.
"The stars are beautiful, my dove. Just look up and see my love for you painted over the night sky."
Lilias' chest has stopped moving and all that remains in its stillness is the sobs of his family that will never truly recover from their loss.
~Some time later~
Everyday was a struggle with grief. Little by little things like breathing becomes easier. Things like cooking and joking about him becomes happier.
"Don't burn the Mac!" From silver followed by a sarcastic "I'm not ya father, Silver. Mac 'n' cheese is safe with me." Brings laughter that isn't fully drowned out by tears or sobs anymore.
Tucking your boys into bed had become a new habit since their fathers death. Yes, even the king of Briar Valley gets tucked in.
Walking out onto the backporch and sitting down to marvel up at the stars. Lilia was absolutely right about the view in Briar Valley. He would have loved the new backyard too. A patch of lilies and forget-me-nots were planted along not only the sides of the house but all over the back fence line.
Looking up and seeing the stars that shine so brightly, he said he loved you more than the stars. "How could you love so immensely?" You whisper to the soft darkness of the valley.
You had made it a habit to come out to the backyard so that your sobs couldn't wake silver. You had made the mistake of crying inside once. Never again, the boys all came rushing into the room to soothe you. They were so tired the next day.
Letting your shoulders shake with tears that had long become silent, you feel the wind blow and brush against your cheeks. Raising your head and looking up to the blanket of stars that your bat loved so much, you feel warmth against your back.
Turning your head, you expect to see one of your boys or a royal guard that heard you step outside, there was no one. Just a lingering warmth that felt so achingly familiar. "Lilia...I miss you so much."
A warmth spreads across your cheek and swear you hear him speak to you. "In our next life, no matter what, my love." Your tears don't cease, instead they flow, just like that day in the destroyed mirror chamber.
"I can't lose you all over again." The words 'this isn't fair' repeatedly fall from your lips with such pain that the shadows seem to react to them.
And then...everything just stops. The shadows don't dance around you, the crickets go silent, the fireflies cease to glow.
The wind has even ceased to blow. That was unsettling in Briar Valley. The wind never completely stops, only dies down to a gentle breeze. Hearing no signs of life is rather disconcerting.
Looking up to the stars and then to the garden, you stand and walk over to the forget-me-nots and see them gently swaying in the nonexistent breeze. You planted them for you and Lilia.
Warmth once more envelops your back, like it always did when lilia hugged you from behind. "Lilia, I take it you like them?" Laughing lightly through your tears.
"Lilia, I can't wait for you to find me again. Please, don't keep me waiting this long. Never again lilia."
Feeling the wind shift and kick up again you turn and you swear that you see his outline. His pointed ears only visible because the house is right behind him. You can practically hear his laughter, twinkling like bells on the wind.
Just like that, his presence was gone. You never felt him again.
~200 years later~
Walking out of university classes at the end of the day was an experience that was both joyous but also tiring. The joy of being done with classes but also the tiredness of having to walk the entirety of campus to get back to a somewhat loud dorm.
Ramshackle dorm, once abandoned and rundown, now thriving and dedicated to the human that saved the Nightraven College and it's students.
Once the worlds became traverseable for people that were not fair folk, Nightraven became accepting of students from the same world as the human from the history books.
Passing by the green and black clad students of diasomnia, you're reminded of the stories about the fae that had loved the human from your world. How their scream and sobs echoed through the damage of the old mirror chamber.
Silly old history stories that the new history professor this year loves to blabber on about. The rumor is that he was around 200 years ago. 'I doubt it, why would he want to come back here?'
Deciding on a trip to the new Cafe in town, you change out of the uniform and find a spot in your own little corner of the cozy place. When your order is called you make your way over to the barista and grab your order.
On the walk back you pass by a boy, your age if you were to hazard a guess, and you can't help but keep looking over to him. "Staring is quite rude, don'tcha know?" He cheekily quips.
Embarrassed at having been caught, your face warms and you feel the urge to bury your face into your folded arms. You hear the chair in front of you squeal and hear him plop onto the chair.
"Well little one, those were some seriously serious looks you were giving me." He leans his elbows on the table and puts his head on his hands with a certain smile.
"What were you thinking, hmmm?" The man has a deeper voice than you thought he would. Looking at him you feel a sense of deja vu.
"Have we met before little one?" The ache in your chest that always seemed to be there...loosened and then simply faded away.
"I don't think so but you seem familiar. Are you from around here? Or just here for college?" He laughs and it clicks.
Breathing in a lung full of air and feeling the tell tale tightness of your throat, you whisper "Lilia..."
Feeling him take your hands across the table and that warmth that always haunted your dreams. The dreams of a time that caused you to take the scholarship from Nightraven College in the first place.
"I said our next life. I meant it, my dove." Feeling his lips feather over your fingertips sent those shivers up your spine. "Welcome back my love. No tears this time."
This life will be a good one. One with years together, not just one.
Across the street stands a green haired crocodile and the black haired king. Happy to see their caretakers together once more.
"So, do you think that silver will be back soon?" "YOUNG MASTER?!" The laughter from the king of thorns and his father figure resound through the dusk of their new start together.
I Need You
The TWST Cast's reaction, (under the preamble), when you tell them you're going home (assuming close platonic relationships, and reader having expressed uncertainty of wanting to return home at some point prior to this/has underlying doubts that they would be missed if they did leave) May be a little OOC sorry, and there are inconsistencies but it's not bad, still, sorry
Approx. 7.6k words, but separated by character so feel free to just read the character you want lmao (unless it's Malleus, sorry) ----------------------------------------------------- You had expected to happy. Overjoyed, excited, if and when the headmage finally told you he had found a way for you to return home, now that you had 'seen your use' here in Twisted Wonderland. Of course, he was no monster, and in his abundant generousity allowed you to have your time to say good byes and collect your things before he would send you on your way. He seemed to take your pure shock as a positive thing, ushering you out of his office in glee as he had finally fulfilled his promise he made to you when you first arrived.
There was so much you wanted to say, to protest, but the headmage was adamant and quick, and the words swirled in your head. Had you really just been a tool for him? Had he summoned you in the first place merely to take care of issues he had an inclination would arise? Your feet had never felt more leaded, your heart had never felt so heavy, and breathing had never required this much effort. Why did it hurt so bad? You were going home. But it wasn't the place you had come from that was associated with that word anymore, instead it was Ramshackle, complete with three ghosts and a grey, cat-like creature sitting in front of it, waiting for you to return. You couldn't just leave, could you? At least when you'd been brought here, you hadn't been given a choice, it just... happened. You may not have been happy at first, but it wasn't like there was much waiting for you at home either, nothing you really felt was worth giving up the experiences you had here; good and bad as the memories had come, you had friends and....family here that you wouldn't give up for the world. But the headmage seemed to have his mind set on sending you home.
You hugged yourself, doubt forming nasty storms of thoughts you'd rather not have, wondering whether anyone here would miss you if you left, especially now that everyone's problems were well on their way to being solved. You knew you had contributed, but was this a job or were you friends? It was getting hard to tell. You realized you would rather just tell them you were going home...and if they wanted you around, they'd tell you, right?
You sought out your closest...who you thought was your closest friend, looking for comfort and their opinion, unable to meet their eyes as you quietly told them, "I'm going home."
Heartslaybul
Riddle It seemed so out of the blue. You had come over for tea as per usual, though more pensive than normal, nothing had seemed out of the ordinary. Your words hit Riddle like a truck, making him audibly gasp softly. He looked down into his tea, struggling to hold back tears as he ran his thumb over the small hump of the handle on his teacup, his reflection rippling from the tremble in his hands. After some silence and practiced, slow breathing, he spoke, though neither of you made eye contact. "If that is what you want....I support you wholeheartedly...though I must admit...you will be...dearly missed." He tried to hide the shakiness in his voice. You had always been so supportive of him, so eager to ensure he had a place and people to turn to when he needed them, if all you needed was support from him in this moment, he would provide it...even if it hurt him.
You looked up from your tea sadly, only to watch as fat tears rolled down Riddle's cheeks. You struggled to hold back your own tears as you reached across the table and offered your hand to him. He looked up at you at first in surprise, then took your hand and wiped the tears from his face with his other hand, rather hastily before laughing softly, though it sounded pained.
"My apologies...I do not wish to influence your decision in-"
You cut him off squeezing his hand gently as tears began streaming down your face, your voice quiet, but desperate.
"Please...just tell me to stay....or...or go."
You swallowed hard and looked away, unsure of what you would do if the redhead told you it was best if you left.
Teary, stormy grey eyes finally looked towards you, first in confusion, then in fondness and relief as he smiled a bit and tried to inject some authority into his voice.
"My word is law. As of this moment, rule 811 and is as follows." You looked up in confusion and anxiety - there were only 810 rules, and Riddle had made it clear that he never wished to amend them in anyway. His smile only grew softer as his thumb ran over your knuckles gently so as to try and comfort you, though a small laugh bubbled out of him.
"I was going to try and make it all official sounding...but the truth is I need you...so please...if it's my input that will make your decision, I implore you....stay with me."
You couldn't help the smile that bloomed, and the relieved laughter that left you as you wiped at your eyes a bit more as both you and Riddle stood up from the table, the boy opening his arms to you for a hug.
"You scared me there for a moment."
"I scared you? You practically informed me that this would be one of our last times together unless I convinced you to stay! I thought a rule may be more convincing than...just my begging but..." he trailed off, snuggling into you a bit more and holding you a little tighter. "It worked. That's all that matters to me."
Trey
You were sitting at the island in the Heartslaybul kitchen, just watching Trey bake. You told him you had something important to tell him, so he had tilted his head and told you he was listening. However, after telling him that you were headed home, he didn't so much as glance back at you; he had just continued measuring out cups of flour, leaving you feeling rather dejected and hurt.
"Did you hear me?"
Trey glanced over his shoulder a bit, continuing to work. "I did."
You were somewhat baffled that he didn't add anything, watching him in mildly offended disbelief.
"You have nothing to say on the matter?"
"I do. But I don't think you want to hear it." He moved to wash his hands in the sink, his side profile now visible to you, and disturbingly absent of any trace of sadness. If anything, he was wearing a small smirk. Did he really not care if you left? You were disgruntled, allowing a moment of silence between the two of you before you spoke up.
"Well I do want to hear it."
At that, Trey turned and looked at you, his smile only getting a little bigger.
"You're not going home. Your heart's not in it. You're just echoing what you've been told because you think you have to go but you don't. The headmage can't force you to go home, so just say no thank you to him and let it be done with."
You sat in baffled silence for a moment before somewhat timidly asking, "Was it that clear I didn't want to go?"
Trey chuckled softly, returning to his work. "It was clear from the moment you walked in here you weren't happy about whatever you were going to try and tell me. Once I get these baked off, I'll come with you to the headmage. You're not going anywhere unless you want to, I promise."
Cater
You had texted him that you had something you wanted to tell him, but never in a million years did he think you meant you were leaving him.
He thought he had been in this position a million times before - you make a friend, you get their contact information, you fool around and then it's time to leave.
Only you were an actual...friend not an acquaintance. Not to mention, you could have moved to Atlantica and he was sure he could have found a way to keep in touch with you at the very least.
But you were going to leave this world. This pocket of space and time.
Cater rapidly blinked back tears and forced a cheery smile and an uncomfortable sounding laugh as he took your hand in his.
"Ok, haha, funny prank, now where are the cameras? Like, this is a bit, right, something you're gonna post on Magicam to start a trend?...it's a prank, right? Do you need a bigger reaction? I can give you a bigger reaction, we can do this take again, just tell me it's a prank." He bit his lip, fighting back tears as he squeezed both of your hands in his, emerald eyes desperately searching your face for any hint that this was meant to be a joke and nothing more. You knew how much you meant to him, you knew about the pattern he'd been forced to fall into, even if this was a bad joke, it was better than it being the truth.
You had to blink back your own tears, turning your face away from him a bit as a small sob left you and you closed the gap between the two of you in a hug, burying your face into him as you started to cry. He held you close and tightly, afraid that letting you go would mean letting you go forever as he struggled to keep his own emotions in check, sniffling.
"Do you really have to g-go?" He choked up over the word, shallow, panicked breathing not helping his emotions.
You sniffled and looked up at him, tears streaming down both of your faces at this point.
"Please don't go...not if it's making you this upset to leave...and you have a choice...please don't leave me" He begged you softly, waiting with bated breath for your decision.
You looked up at him tearfully, trying to smile as you made up your mind.
"I'm not going anywhere."
Those words alone were enough to bring Cater to his knees, his body giving out on him from the sheer amount of relief he felt knowing...he wouldn't be alone again. As long as you were around, he had someone to keep living for. You sat down on his bed, gently patting the mattress beside you as a silent invitation for him to join, but the most he could manage was a mumbled apology for getting your pants wet as he cried into your lap, too exhausted to pick himself up off the floor.
Deuce
It took a moment for him to process what you were saying. He had barely walked through the doors of Ramshackle at your request for him to come over, and now you were telling him you were leaving??
You had been waiting anxiously for his arrival, so before you even got through the niceties of thanking him for coming, you had kind of just blurted it out to him.
The shock was still running through his veins, so he also blurted the first thing that came to mind.
"But I already told my mom that you're coming for Thanksgiving next year!"
You both stared at each other in silence for a moment, before reality sunk in. You started laughing a little bit, but not without tears starting to well up.
"Well then I guess I've got to stick around until Thanksgiving."
Deuce didn't get the joking tone, tearing up, his bottom lip quivering a bit.
"So you're gonna go home after Thanksgiving? Why are you laughing, this isn't funny." He couldn't help but laugh a tiny bit as well, confused and upset at your reaction.
You shook your head and wiped your eyes a bit, smiling a bit "Well I mean...if I'm invited over for every Thanksgiving, I can't exactly go anywhere because skipping out would just be rude, wouldn't it?" In truth...the fact that he had gone so far as to plan at least a year in advance was enough to confirm that at least one person here wanted you to stay.
Deuce picked up on it now, beaming and tackling you in a tight hug, crushing you more than he intended to. You could feel the tears on his cheek still though as he spoke.
"You're invited to every Thanksgiving at my house from now until the end of time, okay?! You have to be there!"
Ace
It felt like the world stopped moving. He was just planning a prank to pull off on one of his upperclassmen, and was about to share his masterplan with you until he'd seen your face and made the mistake of asking what was wrong.
He just sat himself down next to you on the old Ramshackle couch, arms on his knees, his head down and pensive.
"So that's it? You're just going to up and leave?" You could sense there was more he wanted to say, but was biting his tongue for once, for your sake. His eyes were fixed on the uneven flooring beneath his feet, expression stern and unmoving as he tried to rationalize why you would want to leave.
You took in a sharp breath, trying to respond, but nothing came out.
Ace's brow furrowed in frustration, but tried to hide it by turning his face away.
"I thought you said you were happy here. Sure, things haven't been great, but I thought you had made peace with the fact Crowley is a lazy piece of shit that wasn't going to do anything to get you back where you came from. I thought...." His voice caught for a moment, his breath shaky. "....I thought you'd already decided to stay...because this is home now...I thought the friendships you've made here would be enough to keep you here since you never talk about the friends or family you had back....wherever you came from." He had to stand up at this point, pacing in front of you.
"You have people who care about you here, okay?! You gotta give us more than a days notice or so, don't we deserve that in the very least? Like at least give us time to throw you a party or something but more importantly, give us time to adjust to the idea that our friend is going to be out of our lives forever!" He took a few shaky breaths, panting a bit as he pushed his hair out of his face, trying not to let tears form. Not now. Not in front of you.
His words made you recoil slightly as you felt the need to defend yourself.
"I don't want to adjust to a life without you guys either!"
He looked at you dumbfounded and unamused.
"Then why the fuck are you leaving?"
It took you a moment to process, looking down a bit before responding.
".....I didn't know what I wanted until I heard the opposite of what I wanted...and...well I guess it's kinda dumb, but I think I needed to know that I would actually be missed."
Though you didn't see it, Ace's expression softened immediately. He sighed and sat back down next to you, hugging you tightly to him. "Yeah idiot, I, for one, would miss you a ton...I mean who else is gonna talk Riddle outta givin' me the collar?"
You couldn't help but snort a bit at that, making Ace grin. Thank the Sevens, this wouldn't be the last time he'd try to make you laugh.
Savanaclaw
Leona
You barging into his room wasn't exactly unheard of, rather, your footsteps had become a very comforting sound as they approached his bedroom. He had pretended to be asleep as he heard you coming this time, but just wanted to silently enjoy your company for a bit before "waking up".
Your announcement had him upright in the blink of an eye though, tail flicking in discontent behind him. He studied you for a mere moment before yawning and laying back down.
"If that's so, you better get over here. I demand at least one more nap together."
You didn't really know what to make of his reaction, curiosity over whether that was really "it" or not getting to you as you ventured closer to his bed. As soon as you were close enough, he yanked you close to him, making you yelp. He immediately maneuvered the two of you so that he could lay his head on your shoulder, effectively hiding his face from you...and keeping you somewhat pinned.
"Good luck leaving now herbivore...you're gonna miss this too much if you leave...and you'll no longer have a prince taking care of your every need...and-" He sounded almost like a child, pleading in his own way to be good enough for you to want to stay. If he couldn't be good enough at home, he wanted to know he would still have you.
You ran your fingers gently through his hair.
"Yeah you're right...I think I've gotten too used to this lifestyle to ever go back."
You could feel the tension leave his body as he pressed his head against your hand a little harder.
"Good. You're stuck with me forever."
You couldn't help but smile, any doubts you had melting away with those words alone.
Ruggie
You caught him off guard while he was on laundry duty for Leona, his back to you as silence so thick you could cut it filled the space between you two. Ruggie's ears were pressed flat against his head, his tail had stopped wagging, and for a moment, he didn't move, his hand gripping onto the useless piece of cloth in front of him. You opened your mouth to say something, but he turned to face you, looking over you for a moment.
"Y'know, usually in moments like this I quote my grandma..." You looked a bit confused, thrown off by where he was going with this as his tail started to wag the slightest bit.
"But I don't think she's got anything better than the kids at home do for this situation." He grins and covers his ears with his hands, tail wagging faster. "I didn't hear you so it doesn't count!"
Despite his playful demeanor, you could see tears welling in the corners of his eyes.
"Ruggie-" he immediately closed his eyes so he couldn't see your lips moving either, shaking his head as he tried to deny the news you'd given him.
"I...I can't hear you....please...just...if...if I can't hear you....I can pretend you're at Ramshackle...or somewhere else on Sage Island....I can...it'll be...." his rambling tapered off into soft, gaspy sobs, his hands falling away from his head, moving to hug himself instead. "If you leave...I can just pretend l-like you know how to get back....even..even if your world has no magic."
As soon as your arms wrapped around him, he was hugging you instead, burying his face into your neck and sobbing, his voice cracking as he asked softly, "This...this isn't a g-goodbye hug yet, right?"
"It's not a goodbye hug at all." You nuzzled into his hair a bit, causing him to relax in your hold.
"....do I have to prepare for a goodbye hug in my future?" You didn't have to think about it, shaking your head immediately, and causing him to cling onto you as if to convince himself you weren't going anywhere.
Jack
At your request, Jack had made the trip out to Ramshackle, rather happy that you wanted to see him - though he didn't want to admit it. However, his demeanor shifted as he saw you sitting rather dejectedly on the stairs outside of your dorm. He quickened his pace, before rather awkwardly sitting in front of you on the ground instead of beside you.
Upon checking in on you and receiving the news that you were to go home, his tail curled up beside him and his ears flattened, though he looked more pensive than anything.
"....do you want to go home?"
You looked at him, rather exhausted and rubbed your eye a bit. "I don't know anymore Jack and that's half the issue...I mean at the beginning of the year, yeah, that was what I wanted more than anything but now..." He watched your expression sadden a bit. A comfortable silence fell between you two as you stewed in your conflict and he tried to brainstorm a way to get you to stay without coming off as desperate.
"....you know....they say home is where the heart is..." He looked away a little awkwardly, feeling you silently ask for an explanation with your expression. "....so...if you can figure out where your heart lies....maybe it'll make your decision easier...but for me it's always laid with my family and I uh...consider you family too." He couldn't help but blush a bit at the admission, but felt a little guilty saying it out loud. Though you'd never really talked about your family at home, it wasn't fair to assume they weren't important to you, or to make you feel like you had to choose between one family and the other- if you felt the same way about him, or other friends at least.
His guilt faded as soon as he felt your cool hand against his cheek, a smile on your face despite the tears in your eyes. His tail started wagging a mile a minute as your choice became clear, that you saw him the same way.
Octavinelle
Azul
He was grateful you had come to talk to him in his office. It was much easier to keep his composure between the two of you, though you didn't miss the way his expression darkened for a moment immediately after hearing the news.
You watched curiously as Azul fished a document out from his desk, raising it so as to hide his face as he began reading off of it.
"In the event that the Ramshackle prefect, (i.e Yuu), and any Ramshackle resident(s), excluding any ghosts, are to leave campus permanently before the year 20XX, this letter gives the recipient, (i.e Azul Ashengrotto, Owner of Mostro Lounge), permission to alter, upgrade, and otherwise renovate the Ramshackle dorm building in accordance with Sage Island's building and infrastructure laws and regulations in order to establish another restaurant on Night Raven College school grounds. Signed by Dire Crowley, Headmage of Night Raven College."
You stood there in silent disbelief at the sheer audacity he had, though in the silence that followed, you swore you heard a shaky sigh coming from behind the parchment.
"This would be so much easier if you had just decided I wasn't worth forgiving the first time I attempted to take over your dorm." He groaned softly, now hiding his face in folded arms against his desk as the letter from the headmage drifted to the floor.
"Oh so it's my fault for being nice that you can't take over what's been my home since I've gotten here?" Azul shook his head, sitting up, but rubbing his face with his hand, still adamant on not showing you his real emotions on the matter, before sighing and looking down, his voice wavering.
"....it's your fault that I need you as badly as I do....it's your fault that I've come to look forward to your daily visits...it's your fault that I get up in the morning and look in the mirror, and instead of thinking about how vile I am I remember the things you've said to me that make me smile...it's your fault that there's no way I could take over Ramshackle now that the place has sentimental value to me, as ridiculous as it seems to me, the memories we made far outweigh the economic benefits, and it's your fault I think of it that way."
He refused to look up, even as the soft tap of your shoes on the floor approached his desk, taking a seat across from him.
"I can take the blame for all that...but know that you're at fault too...because it's all your fault...that I'm staying here."
Jade
You had found him in the greenhouse, attending his beloved mushrooms when you dropped the boot on him. He debated for a moment, whether it would be worth it to make you eat one, or to put you to sleep, or otherwise incapacitate you for a short amount of time to give himself more time to process and enforce one of many long term plans he had to keep you here. He mulled over the possibilities rather numbly... in a world where had been taught ruthlessness and that only the fittest would survive, you had been that small sliver of mercy he'd come to love and appreciate. He thought he had done a fairly good job showing you what you meant to him as well, with a constant influx of shiny rocks he found on hikes, or petrified wood, or otherwise sharing his interests and listening to yours. He had shown you that he understood what you had taught him to be a little more comfortable with - vulnerability. So why were you trying to tear him apart now? Was this just another cruel lesson in fate?
He was so wrapped up in his thoughts, he failed to realize how long silence sat in the air after your announcement. He only snapped back to reality as your hands wrapped around him, your face against the back of his lab coat as you shuddered and sobbed.
"Please, Jade, if I go I'm gonna miss you, don't ignore me right now....please just...at least acknowledge I'll be gone."
He pulled your hands away from him gently, initially causing you more distress until he pulled you close to him again, your chest pressed against his chest so you could hear his heartbeat. His hug was gentle, yet felt all-encompassing as he kept his voice low, as if he was afraid anyone else would hear, despite the two of you being the only ones around.
"I would miss you too. So if you must go, promise you'll spend one more day with me before you leave."
A relieved sob left you as you clung to him weakly.
"I can do you one better."
He smiled, rocking you gently side to side, glad that he wouldn't have to risk betraying your trust to keep you there with him.
Floyd
You caught him right after basketball practice, high on life from the endorphin rush he was on. You hated to potentially put a damper on his mood, but you needed him to know. However, he had just laughed off your announcement, trying to walk away from you.
"Floyd please, I need you to listen, I'm being serious."
Floyd stopped in his tracks, just sighing tiredly and rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I know. Doesn't matter. You're not going anywhere."
"But the headmage finally-"
"NO!...Who gives a fuck what the headmage's done, he ain't done shit for you since you arrived, you worked your ass off, lived in a shitty little house, dealt with crazy magic users and barely got paid your worth! But through all that, y'stayed. Things are better now. Just...just stay 'nd enjoy it with the people who care 'bout'chya k? I ain't lettin' you go back until you've at least had a vacation, k? It's your turn to get a happy endin...and you can't lie to me and say that's back in whatever timeline you're from cuz....cuz you told me once that I make ya happy...." His expression had been manic and angry at first, but as his rant came to an end, he looked like he was close to tears.
You couldn't help and smile a tiny bit, moving to hug him, though he met you half way, and the two of you crumpled to the ground as he found ways to wrap around you that you didn't think were humanly possible...but it made you feel safe, secure as you nuzzled into him.
"Just stay ok...I'll talk to the headmage for ya...but don't leave me, ok?...I gotta see ya smile til your cheeks hurt one day."
Scarabia
Kalim
When you had let him know you were coming over, he had asked Jamil to set up a small platter for the two of you to share. At first, he had just whined a bit - why were you going back to Ramshackle so soon? You just got to his dorm, now you wanted to leave? You'd at least take some snacks with you, right?
You sighed a bit, before trying again.
"Kalim...the headmage...has found a way for me to go home home." There was a beat of silence between the two of you, before the boy became a sniveling mess across from you, quickly devolving into full blown bawling as he all but launched himself at you, hugging you around your waist as tears started to soak the fabric of your shirt. He was near incomprehensible, though the message was fairly clear in his sobbing that he wasn't ready to let you go, and he'd do anything to keep you with him.
Jamil
He was busy cooking in the kitchen, enjoying your company, though it was clear you had something on your mind. He didn't pry, but eventually it came out. He just kept working, glad that he had prepared for this day to come.
"Well if you want me to wish you well and see you off, then I suppose now's a good a time as any to say goodbye." He barely glanced over his shoulder, giving you a subtle nod. "Goodbye."
It stung more than you expected it to, but at least he had been decisive, and made it easier for you to walk away from everything. He watched as you got up from your seat and walked towards the door, looking rather sad. He sighed a bit, wiping his hands off on a cloth.
"Did you really think leaving was going to be that easy? You know too much about me. You're not going anywhere. Follow me."
The apparent switch up in attitude had you hopeful and curious as he led you to his room, unlocking the door, then unlocking a small drawer at his desk, pulling out papers, which at a glance, had your name on them.
"I figured since you've shut down any conversation of your personal life at home, the only reason you'd ever want to return would want to return there was because of the financial stability you may have had, and the idea of needing financial assistance was daunting or embarrassing, same with getting your citizenship and passport for Twisted Wonderland. But I've gone ahead and pulled a few strings and made deals with some of Kalim's aunties. Now....you've got a deed to a home once you graduate, you have health insurance, you have a citizenship from Scalding Sands, and a passport from Scalding Sands."
He stacked each wad of paper in your hands as he explained them, before looking rather smug and booping your nose.
"Of course, if you still plan to leave I could just hypnotize you."
Pomefiore
Vil
You had gone to him to his room, sat on his bed and just watched him paint his nails at his vanity. He could practically feel the anxiety radiating off of you, but he had the time, so he waited until you told him yourself rather than pressing you. He could hear the way your breath trembled, uneven gasps for air that you tried to keep under control as he just shook his head.
"Do I really need to tell you how all this is going to play out?" His icy violet eyes locked onto your startled ones in the mirror, as you tried to wipe any evidence of crying away from your face. You were confused, and conflicted, making Vil's face soften just the smallest bit as he redirected his gaze and attention to his nails.
"You tell me you want to go. As your friend, I'll support you in what would make you happiest, though I'm not going to tell you what would make you happiest, that's for you to decide. You'll go back to Ramshackle, start packing your things, still second guessing yourself. It won't be until you're in front of the mirror and the gravity of the situation hits you that there's no way for you to come back that you'll finally tell Crowley you'd like to stay..."
He finally turns around to look you face to face.
"So skip the song and dance, come to terms with the fact you'd like to stay, and I'll speak to the headmage on your behalf to inform him you'll be staying as long as you damn well please."
He had more conviction in both his expression and tone than you had heard before, and you certainly hadn't heard him cuss in any meaning of the word. It only took a moment longer of searching his expression to see the emotion behind the mask he was wearing was fear.
You couldn't help but sniffle and rub at your eyes a bit, nodding and laughing through your tears a bit.
"You're right. You always are. Thank you."
Visible relief, though subtle, was clear on Vil's face, the corner of his mouth turning up in a smile.
"Really now, did you think I was just going to let you walk out of my life like that? Absolutely not."
Rook
Rook had seen you leave the headmage's office looking incredibly upset, so moments later he fell into step beside you in silence. Without saying a word, the two of you headed in the direction of the woods, cutting through paths Rook had taught you to see until you reached a small clearing, a place Rook had shown you as his safe haven. The two of you had been laying silently on the grass, only broken by the sound of you beginning to cry as you confessed the reason you were upset.
He moved to hold you close immediately, letting you turn towards him as he gently rubbed your back and let you cry.
"Why are you letting this rest on you so heavily, mon trickster, when it's clear the thought of leaving is causing you so much distress...why would you want to go to the one place where I could not hope to follow you?"
He took your hand gently, placing it on his chest over his heart. "If you left, my heart may explode. You can feel it racing now....the thought of being without you may be too much for even me to handle...and you know I can take much more than I show." He bumped his head against yours lightly, not unlike a cat as he closed his eyes.
"Please...I can only handle so much heartache...stay where I can reach you..."
Epel
He ran into you quite literally, trying to make it back to Pomefiore after spell drive practice in time to avoid Vil's rant on punctuality. However, when he registered you were crying rather than laughing the impact off, he was worried he had hurt you more than he had gotten hurt himself, checking in on you anxiously until you let it spill.
His immediate reaction was like that of a toddler, a very determined expression as he just went "Nuh-uh."
It was enough to shock you out of both the pain you were in and to make you laugh a little incredulously, causing your tears to stop flowing for a moment.
"W...what?"
Epel's expression only deepened, though it was a little difficult to take him seriously.
"I said, nu-uh. You ain't goin' nowhere, not if I got anythin' t'say on the matter, y'hear? Your family's here, your friends are here an' the headmage can't do shit if y'up 'n' tell'm off for tryna send ya home just cuz it makes him feel better he finally kept a goddamn promise, no way, nu-uh, that ain't flyin' with me!" He huffed and grabbed your wrist gently.
"Now come on, you get to to be the one to tell Vil why I'm late."
Ignihyde
Idia
Usually, you would just sit in Idia's room, enjoying each other's company in silence as you did your own things. You had a keycard to his room, and he would get a chime in his headphones that let him know it was you coming in. To him, nothing was amiss as silence hung between the two of you for nearly two hours, though his headphone was slightly offset his ear in case you needed anything.
So when you all but whimpered "I can't do this anymore" his headphones all but flew off his head as he whirled around his chair to face you, confused and off put by your tone until you told him what was wrong.
He just paused, before a wide grin spread across his face, slightly manic.
"What you think I'd just let you leave? Just 'oh Idia, I can go home now so goodbye forever', you seriously think I'm going to let you walk away? You're my closest IRL friend, and I've....I've lost enough already, I'm not letting you make me loose again." He laughed, but it was pained as he pushed back his hair, trying to calm down and failing as he stood up and started pacing.
"You're....you can't be serious, right? You're just gonna leave? Did I do finally do something wrong? Wrong enough that you want to be sent to another timeline where I don't exist, where our friendship doesn't exist, like this was all for nothing?!" He stopped and looked at you, hurt and distressed, his voice shaky and small.
"....was it all for nothing?"
His intensity wasn't anything new, but it had never been directed at you specifically. The ends of his hair were flared up and tinted orange, but his expression was nothing but pleading until you burst into tears again, apologizing and promising you'd stay.
Ortho
He knew exactly why you'd been called into the headmage's office, and was waiting for you as you stepped out of the room, only to take your hand and drag you right back in, first, angry whirring leaving him, before he settled enough to say anything that you and the headmage could understand.
"How dare you! You can't make them feel like they don't have a choice, just because it gives you a sense of doing something right doesn't mean it is! You're gonna let them stay or I'm leaking the security cam footage of what you do in your office all day- then it'll really be confirmed that you're nothing but a useless pile of-"
"Ortho-"
His head whipped around at your warning tone, eyes wide. "What?....I was gonna say crap, not the other word."
You couldn't help the small chuckle that left you before Crowley spoke up.
"Now there's no need for all those threats Ortho-"
Ortho's attention whipped back to the headmage, and in the blink of an eye his face was directly in front of Dire's, uncomfortably close as two sets of slightly glowing yellow eyes focused on each other.
"Don't you even think about trying to send my sibling away again...or the security cam footage is going to be the least of your worries."
Diasomnia (sorry, Malleus and Lilia lovers this is the best I got rn)
Malleus
Nope. You've either read chapter 7, you're reading through chapter 7, or you will read chapter 7. Sorry, he's just as you'd expect him to be. (read as: I think writing this out will feel tedious and boring and I'll loose motivation in these last few characters because bro is the most predictable dude ever)
Lilia
It hadn't been difficult to find him - in fact, when you got to Ramshackle, he had helped himself to some rather questionable looking hot chocolate and was sitting on your couch, patting the space beside him, smiling a bit.
"From what I understand, you've got plenty to think about. They say all good things must come to an end, but if you're writing the story, why not add a few more chapters where you're happiest?"
Silver
You had found him napping under one of the trees on campus, surrounded by furry little friends as per usual. You made yourself at him, laying next to him with your head on his shoulder, just watching the slow rise and fall of his chest as you snuggled your friend for what felt like could be the last time. You weren't sure how much time had passed until a sharp inhale signaled he was waking up, snapping you out of your own dissociation. The familiar weight of you on his arm just made him give you a gentle squeeze as he woke up, softly greeting you, taking a moment to listen to his animal friends, then asking you what was wrong as he pulled you a little closer, turning towards you and placed his hand behind your head protectively.
Upon hearing what was bothering you, he shook his head a bit, and many of the critters that were around the two of you found ways to cuddle the both of you. With how much you were crying, it was only fair that they were concerned.
"Don't go home...clearly you're not happy...if the headmage is trying to force you to return home, tell him that you consider this world your home. Or Ramshackle...or Briar Valley...if you just say the word, I can ask fa- Lilia to start getting you a citizenship...then you'll not only be registered in Briar Valley...but we both know that Malleus would never let any of his citizens suffer either...and disobeying a direct order from fae royalty would put Crowley in a bad position." He hummed and pulled you a little closer. "Besides...without you, I'll only ever wake up to Sebek for the rest of my life...I adore him like a brother, but I admit I prefer your method of rousing me from slumber." It was subtle, but you could tell he tried to inject humour into his tone as he sighed deeply, but stayed tense until you gently played with his hair, tears starting to roll down your cheeks as you nodded and agreed - both to finding your place in this world permanently in Briar Valley...and as Silver's designated waker-upper.
Sebek
He had seen you while he was on his horse, excitedly riding over when he saw you wave, though as he got closer, your expression seemed less and less happy to see him. You wished he had waited until he was in front of you to ask what was wrong, but as you expected, as soon as he noticed something was amiss, his voice boomed across the field between the two of you, his poor horse startling some. It took him a moment to get control of his horse once more, before he managed to make it to you, hopping down and holding onto the reins tightly as he looked at you expectantly for an answer.
"WHAT DID THE HEADMAGE SAY TO YOU?!"
Both you and his poor horse flinched and startled, but Sebek scooped you up, mounting his horse easily with you in front of him, boxed in and secure in his arms as he was set and determined, heading towards the main school building, though when you looked back at his face, the trails of a few tears were clear on his cheeks.
"If the headmage's mind will not be changed, then we must inform Malleus. He will ensure you stay here with m- us. With us."
Extra (pretend you didn't say anything to him yet lol)
Grim
You had been sitting in Ramshackle for a while, the headmage's words eating away at you like acid, leaving you in a dissociative state on the couch. You were so out of it, so caught up in your feelings, that when Grim finally came home after messing around with some of the first years, you immediately felt your heart drop as he very gently, very concerned looking, put his paw on your arm, checking in on his favourite hench human.
"Y'look like you're gonna c- MYAH!" You couldn't help but pull the cat into your arms, your whole body curling around him as you cried softly into the bow on his back. He squirmed around, fighting to face you as he gently held your face in his paws, looking kinda mad. "Who made ya cry, huh?! Tell me and I'll light'em up! Nobody messes with my hench human!"
You couldn't help the half laugh, half sob that left you as you just gently bumped your head against Grim's.
"Nothing you have to worry about Grim...I'm just...um...I'm really glad to have you in my life." You offered him a small smile as he tilted his head, bumping you back softly as his tail swished curiously.
"I..I mean I am too, but that doesn't tell me why you're cryin'!" He rubbed his face against yours again, trying to dry your tears,
"The headmage was gonna try and send me home...but I'm not...I'm not going to do it." Grim looked shocked for a moment, before more aggressively snuggling against you, purring.
"Good...cuz even if you did go home, ya couldn't get rid of me that easily!...I'd come with you!"
You laughed softly, mostly in shock and shook your head. "There's no magic back home...or talking animals...I'm not sure that would be the best idea."
He looked sad for a moment, curling up in your hold more so you wouldn't see his face. "Yeah but...you're all I got...so anywhere you go, I'll go...no matter what.
-------------------------------------------------------- I hated this the longer I wrote it but it wasn't until I was like at Vil that I started to get unhappy so I decided to say fuck it and just stick to it anyways. Yes I've been procrastinating hw shut up. Love you.
Diasomnia Wakes Reader Up From a Sleeping Curse
Gender-neutral reader, Hurt/comfort. Poll Winner.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
When he saw his beloved Y/N lying in their bed, he could feel both sadness and anger bubbling up in him. Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade had made a mistake in Potionology, and you were still paying the consequences of their own actions. The dragon fae gently took off his gloves and placed his hand delicately on your cheek, flinching at how cold your skin was.
If he didn’t know any better, he would have thought you were dead. The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Your name and death did not belong in the same sentence, let alone together at all. No, you were merely asleep, and of that he was glad.
He knew the cure for the curse, and he was a bit happy that he knew of your feelings for him, but that didn’t particularly mean he was your true love. The fact that you two were courting didn’t mean anything in matters like this. However, there was no harm in trying to wake you up. So, the Crowned Prince of Briar Valley held your face gently as he leaned forward.
His lips gently brushed up against yours, staying there for a few seconds. He pulled back, and upon seeing that you hadn’t moved, his heart became very heavy. He turned away and started pulling his gloves on, when…
“Tsunotarou?”
Malleus had never turned around so quickly as he rushed back to your bedside. He helped you sit up, and his chest was pounding as you looked into his eyes. You reached your hand out and held the side of his face, and the fae prince moved his face to press a kiss to your palm. Oh, he had never been so relieved.
He quickly leaned forward and placed another kiss upon your lips, and he was so glad to feel you reciprocate the affection. The Diasomnia crew was waiting in the living room, and they all stood up when they saw their leader carrying you in a bridal carry, silently announcing that you were alright.
Don’t get him mistaken, though. He is definitely going to bring pain and suffering to Ace and Deuce for inflicting such a curse upon his beloved. If he could, they would probably be burnt to a crisp. But, he will inform the Headmage so that the troublesome duo can be punished properly.
Tumblr media
Lilia Vanrouge
He was very amused to hear that his Y/N was put under a sleeping curse by the ADeuce duo. Oh, you could never stay away from those two, and it always led to you getting in trouble. No matter, as he loves playing the part of your knight in shining armor. However, as he gazed upon your sleeping figure, a grim atmosphere took place.
Your skin was cold to the touch, very unnatural for someone as lively as you usually were. It was a chill that he had known before, one that not even the coldest of winters could compare to. The freeze of death. It brought him only a little comfort to know that you were just asleep, a mock of death.
The two idiots who had put you under the curse had informed him of the cure, not that he needed it anyways because he already knew. What he didn’t know was if he was your true love, since he was certain that you were his. Lilia brushed some hair out of your face as he leaned forward.
As he held your face, he tried to feel if you went warm. However, when he pulled away from the kiss, there was no change. The fae’s heart was broken, and he worried that you would never wake up. As he walked to the door, he heard something.
“Darling?”
Mans just about ran back to your side, pressing kisses all over your face. Your skin had become warm, and the light in your eyes was back (albeit a bit dimmed). You took a bit of time to admire his mature form, as he didn’t have the energy to go back to the younger version of himself. His long hair was beautiful, and you ran your hand through it.
He urged you to stay in bed to recover some of your strength as he went down to the rest of the Diasomnia quartet to inform them that you were alright. Silver was glad that his ‘other parent’ (not official… yet) was alright, and even Sebek was relieved. Malleus was glad to hear that you would be recovering soon.
Oh, but what you or anyone else did not know was that as they were leaving you and Lilia behind at Ramshackle, the other three were going to fight Ace and Deuce in the most disrespectful way possible. I hope the boys like dirt, because they’re gonna be eating it soon.
Tumblr media
Silver
He was just in a complete state of shock when Sebek informed him that Ace and Deuce had accidentally put you under a sleeping curse. As his fellow knight, the half-fae felt obligated to be the one to share the news. He promised to cover the young Vanrouge’s guard shift as he went to go see you and help with the cure.
The moment he entered your bedroom, he could feel the atmosphere was completely off. Where was your voice? Where was his hug as he entered the door? He placed the back of his hand upon your forehead, only to retract his arm after discovering you were cold.
One thing that Sebek made sure not to forget to tell Silver was that the only thing that could get you to wake up was a kiss of true love, and that scared him. One’s True Love is similar to a soulmate; one’s heart could not beat without the other. How was anyone sure that he was your true love?
Silver placed a gentle but fleeting kiss upon your lips, quickly pulling back to see if your eyes had opened, but nothing changed. The knight let two tears fall as he got up to leave. The moment where he placed his hand on the door handle, he heard you gasp.
“Love?”
Oh, the sweet sound of your voice was the one that he needed to hear at that moment. He was immediately back at your side as he grabbed your hand in his to place a kiss on your knuckle. Upon touching you, you were warm. He could physically feel his heart beating again in pure relief that 1) he was your confirmed true love and 2) you would be okay.
Unfortunately, all of this really took a lot out of him, so he laid next to you in the bed and held you close. This caused you to laugh, brushing some hair out of his face as you cuddled into him and placed a kiss on his lips this time.
You made sure to text Lilia that you were okay and awake, and that Silver was exhausted, so he would be staying at Ramshackle overnight. He finally looked at peace in his sleep, and you quickly took a picture as a keepsake. However, you weren’t going back to sleep yet. You just woke up, after all.
Tumblr media
Sebek Zigvolt
He was in the Potionology class where you were put under the curse, and he was the one who lifted you up in a bridal carry and brought you back to Ramshackle so that you would be comfortable. The two imbeciles who caused this told him in the living room of the run-down dorm that the only known curse was a kiss of true love.
This caused a million thoughts to run through the half-fae’s head as he gazed upon your sleeping figure. Sure, the two of you were courting, but that didn’t mean he was your true love. He knew that you were his, because he placed you above Malleus in importance. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be here.
Sebek took his glove off as he walked over to your bed side. He grabbed the side of your face, and he didn’t like how cold you were. He took a deep breath, before committing. He leaned towards your face to place his lips onto yours. A stray tear he didn’t know was coming fell upon your cheek, making it look like it was you who was crying.
He felt as though you had every right. For everything you suffered through at the hands of Ace, Deuce, Grim, and Crowley, along with everyone else, he honestly wishes you would cry. Especially now, as there was no sign of you waking up. All his hope vanished as he got up to leave, when he heard you shift around in your bed.
“Sebek?”
The knight turned around to see that your eyes were open and looking at him as you tried to sit up. He rushed over to assist you, relieved that you were awake and alright. However, this made him realize something: he was your true love. He quickly placed a kiss upon your forehead, relishing in the warmth finally emitting from your skin.
As he helped you out of bed and with walking (a curse could leave you disoriented) downstairs, he made sure that at the bottom he gave the two idiots a piece of his mind. How dare they be so incompetent and not even apologize for making you go through that?
If you were being honest, the utmost care that the usually brash First Year was showing you as he gently sat you down at a nearby chair so that he could continue the argument made your heart melt. He was genuinely worried about you, and it definitely showed. You would think you were made of glass, but you were aware that it was his way of conveying his love for you.
Lilia unable to fall in love again after what he's been through is a gold star S+ tier, but I raise you:
Canon Lilia realizing he's falling in love again and being terrified by it
Oh my gosh this HURTS!! worse than him not being able to fall in love again!! Anon, my love, why must you break my heart!
They are referring to this <-
The moment Lilia realizes he's falling in love with you, he almost mistakes it for chest pains of an aging man. He grasps at his shirt in which his heart lay beneath pounding erratically, his stomach a war of sharp-winged butterflies.
Fate is truly a mysterious thing, for as time went on with you often providing company to the elderly fae, he noticed the small things that began to change.
The way your smile made his heart skip a beat at times, and your laugh becoming for more sweeter than he remembered, He found himself going out of his way to make you laugh. That mellifluous laugh left his heart racing at the simple thought that it elicited your beautiful lips because of him. He noticed the changes in the way he found himself wanting to tell you important things first- how you were the first person he would text after receiving an amazing bonus in his video game or a rare item, or simply to rant about some drama happening around him.
He wasn't sure when exactly he decided to choose you as his go-to, when he cooks it's no longer Silver as his testing dummy, but you. Whenever he found an old history book from his past he felt compelled to open up to you, taking note of how cute you were as you stared so attentively at his rambling and gestures. It soon came to the point where he thought that if you were to go home, he would be...
heartbroken.
He realized this change all at once when he leaned against his desk and gazed at you with eyes lidded and a satisfying smile as you flashed your signature smile. It wasn't a particular thought, per se, but an instantaneous feeling of absolute dread. His hand fell from holding his head up and red eyes widened, now staring at you no longer with the gaze of a smitten man, but the pale and dreadful expression of someone who was utterly terrified. His hands began to tremble as he flashed a smile that was so obviously painted and excused himself, crashing into his room hyperventilating.
With tears streaming down his cheeks and hands pulling at his hair, Lilia stared in the mirror watching himself pathetically come undone as he fell to his knees and began to hold his burning chest.
"Not again," He choked out
"I can't do this again."
He tried to convince himself of every possible path that would allow him an out to this feeling, describing you as someone he simply doted on, or perhaps his age getting to him. However, fate is as cruel as it is beautiful, and eventually, he had to accept the fact that he had fallen hopelessly in love.
And he hadn't felt more hopelessly petrified at the notion.
Silver’s narcolepsy is so… interesting to me
everyone always talks about it like it’s a silly joke. like “ha ha sleepy boy!!!” which is. fine. but from what we see in the game, it’s undoubtedly a serious physical disability. it literally causes him to fall asleep randomly throughout the day and there’s no way he can fight it. that’s genuinely scary and a cause for concern. what if he fell asleep next to a lake and drowned or something??
i can’t help but think about how much it must affect him mentally. imagine you’re the only human in a fae family, and your whole life you believed that you would be the first to die, and you need to make the most out of the short time you have to repay your loved ones for raising you.
and the universe decides to give you a sleep disorder that completely hindrances your ability to do so. you doze off CONSTANTLY, wasting hours upon hours of precious time that you could’ve used for something more useful.
you can’t control it. once you feel that drowsiness, it’s over. nothing helps; you just can’t stay awake regardless of what you try. no one knows what’s wrong with you so you just assume that it’s your own fault for being so lazy. your father’s done everything he can, bless his kind heart, but even he can’t find a solution.
nobody understands what you’re going through, they all say it’s normal to feel bored or tired from schoolwork every now and then. which isn’t how you feel at all, but you just don’t have the words to describe it.
it gets to the point where you’re failing your classes because your body simply refuses to function the way it’s supposed to. your teachers blame you and they’re right, it’s your fault it’s all your fault isn’t it?
your peers make fun of or look down on you for being unusual. for always falling asleep. for not expressing emotion (doesn’t anyone else find it hard?). you feel ashamed. you try to fix it but you can’t. nothing can ever be fixed.
it’s frustrating to be unable to control your own body. you’ve grown used to it, and so has everybody else, although that doesn’t make it any less of a problem. but at this point it feels like there’s no other choice but to just live with it.
and in the end, you feel guilty. your father has given you everything, and yet you can’t give back. does that not make you a failure? a disappointment of a son? here you are, living, breathing, thinking, and you can’t even do anything to thank the person who gave you the luxury of existence.
wouldn’t you hate sleep? wouldn’t you utterly despise that feeling of drowsiness that overtakes your mind when you so much as stay still for a single minute? would you not cherish the moments in which lethargy did not plague you?
oh, how you wish there was a cure.
To the point of exhaustion (part 2)
——————————————————————
For @naroshinozaki
Who asked: Could you please do the fainting trope, but with the vicedorm leaders?
Have a nice day and take care of yourself!!!
( ↀДↀ)✧
———————————————————
POV: Third Person
Characters: Vice dorm leaders, Dire Crowley (mentioned), gender neutral!reader
Pairing: Vice dorm leaders x gender neutral!reader (separate)
Warnings: angst, mentions of being overworked, fainting, lack of sleep, Dire Crowley slander
Note: For this I’ve decided to exclude Ortho.
Word Count: 979
—————————————————————
It was yet another unbirthday party in Heartslabyul and Trey Clover, the dorm’s vice dorm leader would normally be enjoying the celebration with everyone else in the dorm but instead, he was in his bedroom cuddling with y/n.
“I’m sorry that you’re missing the unbirthday party because of me, Trey.”
“Don’t worry, there will be plenty more of them.” He assured them in a soft tone. “You just focus on getting the rest you need.”
They had confessed that they hadn’t been getting as much sleep, due to the headmaster and the way he piled more and more onto their plate and how overwhelming it was for them and how close they were to burning out.
And how all they wanted was just to sleep. Even if it was just for a few minutes.
And Trey had decided to give them that.
It was clear that the headmaster certainly wouldn’t.
“Don’t worry, Riddle assured that he’ll make sure that there’s something for us when you wake up.”
“Thank you, Trey. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
——————————————————
“…Ruggie?”
“Finally awake, sleeping beauty?”
“Yeah. What time is it?”
Ruggie checked his phone briefly for the time. “It’s four p.m.”
“You let me sleep all day?!”
“Yes. You could hardly stand. You needed the rest.”
“But what about the lessons? The assignments I missed?”
“You can borrow my notes. As for the assignments, you don’t have to worry, Crewel and Trein will let you make them up.”
“But the headmaster…”
“He had to go one day without his free therapist. The world has come to an end.” Ruggie’s voice was dripping with sarcasm. “He’ll live. I care more about you and your health and I know that you would be hungry when you woke up.” As if on cue, y/n’s stomach growled and Ruggie handed them the food he had come back with from the cafeteria. “The ghosts were more than happy to make this for you. Your favorite.”
The hyena felt his cheeks turn pink when suddenly kissed his lips. “What was that for?”
“That was thank you, for being the best boyfriend ever.”
“Yeah, well, I love you.”
“Love you more, Ruggie.”
————————————————————
“Are you feeling better, my pearl?”
“Yes, I am, Jade.” It was currently after hours in the Mostro Lounge, the smooth jazz was playing softly and with the ambiance of the Lounge, it created the perfect atmosphere for y/n to relax. Especially after the week they had, no one deserved it more than them. “Thank you.”
When his pearl had arrived at the lounge, looking quite dead on their feet, as if they would faint at any moment, Jade wasted no time in leading y/n to their favorite seat in the lounge, he had gently coaxed the reason why they were so exhausted.
The headmaster, it seemed, did not know the meaning of restraint.
Jade would not hesitate to remind him.
“Of course.” He gave y/n one of his rare smiles, not the kind of smile that was used to intimidate, but the kind that gave him a softer appearance. “I would do anything for you.”
He would let Azul deal with that.
———————————————————————
“Thanks for letting me hide out in Scarabia, Jamil, and for letting me borrow your hoodie. I just needed some peace and quiet for once, you know?”
Out of everyone, Jamil knew what it was like to feel overwhelmed and under pressure. Being the vice dorm leader of Scarabia and having to watch over Kalim was not an easy thing. “Yeah, I get it. Trust me.” At least with Kalim, he allowed Jamil some time to himself and let him do things that would let him unwind.
Unlike the headmaster.
It was why y/n had made their way to Scarabia.
And it was during one of the rare times where Scarabia wasn’t having a party so they could spend time with Jamil, at Kalim’s assurance that everything was fine, and that today was a relaxation for everyone in the dorm anyway.
And if anyone needed to relax the most, it was y/n and Jamil.
“Don’t worry. We can just be lazy and not have to worry about anything.”
————————————————————
Underneath the big tree in the woods behind Night Raven College, on a picnic blanket, y/n and Rook sat together, enjoying the breeze, the shade from the tree, and the occasional chirp from the birds as they flew overhead.
“How are you feeling, mon cher? Better?”
“Yes, I’m feeling better, Rook. Thank you. I really appreciate that you set this up for me.”
The vice dorm leader of Pomefiore kissed y/n’s hair. “Your health and safety matters most to me.”
“Vil doesn’t need you for anything?”
“Roi du Poison told me that we can take all the time we need. And I plan to spend the entire day spoiling you.”
Rook’s smile widened when y/n’s giggled reached his ears.
——————————————————————————
Father, will y/n be all right?”
In Diasmonia’s lounge, y/n slept peacefully on the couch with the fire going in the fireplace. “Of course, Silver.” His smile was tight. “They’ll be fine.”
“The headmaster overworked them too much. Do you think he knows? Or that he just doesn’t care?”
Lilia was sure that it was both. “I’ll deal with him later. Right now, I’m going to make sure that y/n recovers.”
“You really love them, father.”
“With everything that I am.”
"Your hair is so beautiful Lilia!" "Beautiful like you!" "You two! Stop it!" "Look! They match your hair!"
Remember when I asked who wanted to see Lilia suffering? Well, there it is! More or less….! Just a little headcanon of mine, I like to imagine that Lilia let his hair grow because of Meleanor and Levan who liked to play and touch his hair.
A little reference to the Mulan scene, I don't think Lilia would cut his hair to "erase" the memories he may have with Meleanor or Levan, in a way, but maybe it could have been a way of dealing with the mourning or was it a way of taking the first step towards change?
(Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember if there was any information that explains the reason for the radical change in Lilia's hair.)
TWST Incorrect quotes#562 The Day I lost you...
Now imagine You did indeed...Went into the past and got to interact with General Lilia, Baul, and a small baby malleus...but he was still too full of anger...didn't wanna change, While there was love between you two...he was too wrapped up in his...hate to allow the idea of marriage between you two...so when the opportunity came...you saw best to leave back to earth...He was never the same after that, Everyone felt your loss...but he took it as a wake-up call, He tried to look for you that's why he traveled the world but...As the years passed...he knew no mortal could live so long...Now he is In NRC and saw...the transfer student...It's You...He knows it's you...
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He gasps as if seeing a ghost... and drops the books that he was holding with a clatter, You stand some twenty paces ahead of him, blocking the path, And lets out an audible shudder upon seeing him...The Fae you fell in love even the not-so-good moments before...you left
Yuu*Rattled but holding your chin up*I know what you're going to say, How could I have done this? Stayed away all of this time, And why didn't I come back to you? To our home...
Lilia steps towards You, wide-eyed and speechless, Grim emerges from behind You, Hissing protectively
Yuu: Well, what sign did I have that you could change!? That anyone at that time could?
Yuu: I pleaded so many times to stop the fighting between you all, to find another answer, but did any of you listen?-DID YOU LISTEN TO ME!
Sebek: This is why I will never marry!*Frowns, seeing you flustered and angry at Lilia * This and one other reason...
He continues to close the gap, mesmerized. With every step, You become increasingly flustered, And you back into the wall, with nowhere to go, and He is just a few paces away
Yuu*Tearful but still hissing at him* I know that I left you alone... but I thought you be better off without me, And I was wrong, I see that now*You eyes glance at Malleus & Silver who brought you to see their Adoptive father/ father*but...
He gently reaches a hand toward your face
Yuu: Oh stop being so stoic, Lilia!?- Go on... SHOUT, SCREAM, SAY SOMETHING!
Lilia*Tears up seeing you so close again, with a breathless whisper*You're as beautiful as the day I lost you...
His words snuff your retort, rendering you speechless, and you soften despite, yielding your cheek to his palm. He caresses your skin as a reluctant tear runs through his fingers.
He pulls you into a kiss, You resist briefly, then gives in, Malleus, Silver, Sebek & Grim softly pleased to see you happy once again...
