You'd be rougher. More used to toughing it out. A lot less soft. You would have known what it was like to truly struggle. You wouldn't be dainty, nor would you shy away from things. But you'd still be caring where it matters. Probably not the best with emotions.

I honestly don't think you could shy away from having to do what you needed to do if you came from a Horrortale universe.

Maybe Reader is some very low-level mage that can grow fruit. Perhaps that was the original only reason they were kept around.

I don't think you would truly fear death. Instead I feel like you'd be alive out of pure spite.

Your only goal in life is to stay alive- and if that means doing some severely messed up things, then so be it.

Loony Toons Tiny Toon Adventures, I Love Lucy, and Night Court exist in the DC Multiverse: Prove Me Wrong!

Wile E. Coyote appears in the 1990 episode "Still Another Day In the Life." Night Court is fairly unique among televised sitcoms of it's era in that it does not take place in any known sitcom universe (Nickelodeon Cinematic Universe, TGIF Universe, Snow Globe Universe, Hurricane Saturday Universe, etc.) However I Love Lucy did meet Superman in the 1957 episode "Lucy and Superman." This was Pre-Crisis but it may suggest that Night Court is connected to it in the Post-Crisis continuity. In 1992 Superman would appear in the direct-to-video animated film "How I Spent My Vacation." The timing of the Night Court appearance and How I Spent My Vacation occur during the post-Crisis/Pre-Zero Hour period suggesting that Night Court and Loony Toons/Tiny Toon Adventures all took place in the mainline DCU. Somewhat confusingly pre-crisis cartoons like "Super-Rabbit" and "Stupor Duck" take place on a world where the DC Superheroes are all fictional (not unlike Earth Prime) however The Plucky Duck Show pilot "Batduck" appears to take place in a world where Batman exists but is apathetic to Plucky's efforts to get cast in "Batman Returns" a film that perhaps Bruce Wayne is financing. Batman does however make a cameo in the "Dance of Doom" pilot of Freakazoid adding evidence the existence that these shows shared an earth. Some will argue that this is proves that the Warner Brothers series and Night Court exist on Earth-12 however remember this appearance is post Zero-Hour. Also Earth-12 wasn't officially introduced until after Flashpoint.

In the 2000 comic mini-series Superman & Bugs Bunny (written by the great Mark Evanier) the Loony Toons are brought to earth by Mr Mxyzptlk. In this comic the Loony Toons are from a parallel world. Given that this book was published after both Zero Hour and The Kingdom we must assume that Hypertime is involved.

DC Meets Loony Toons comics suggest that there in fact multiple Warner Brothers Cartoon worlds some of which the The Loony Toons and the DC Superheros co-inhabit and some don't. My theory is that these worlds were split after the events of Flashpoint and the various Loony Toons (as well as Night Court and I Love Lucy) were taken dome worlds by Braniac. Somewhat confusingly this was published post Rebirth but clearly takes place during the prior Convergence event. This would also also account for the Hanna-Barbera Beyond event as well as the Flintstones and Snagglepuss comics from the era.

The Loony Toons would once again meet the DC Superheroes in 2021's Space Jam: A New Legacy the Loony Toons (and many other cartoons) exist on one single earth. Somewhat confusingly they encounter superheroes twice while Bugs is rounding up the gang. I believe this means that Daffy was playing Superhero on Earth 12 while Lola was training with the Post-Rebirth Wonder Woman. Something confirmed by the fact that the Loony Toons jump into a literal comic to recruit Lola. The Loony Toons continue to have a mostly shared earth but 2022's Jellystone and the upcoming Tiny Toons Looniversity exist in their own parallel pocket dimensions.

As for Night Court despite John Larroquette returning to the 2022 reboot we have overt references to Dan Fielding's successful prosecution of Wile E. Coyote however the fact that the charges in the episode were dropped from attempted murder to harassment in the 1990 episode reflect Fielding's personal growth and softening of a character. It appears to once again be on it's own pocket universe separate from all superhero, cartoon, and sitcom universes unless it is confirmed to be the future of I Love Lucy.

Bruce and Dick are soulmates on a cosmological scale. The DC universe ordained them to always find each other because they're quite literally a fated pair.

I think one of the big missed opportunities with New Phyrexia is how ultimately all the Praetors maybe minus Urabrask are ultimately flattened into a single "take over the multiverse" unit. Elesh Norn dominates the plane, not just in an organisational sense, but an ideological one. Gestures are made towards the idea of disagreements, but the reasoning behind them is fairly shallow. The Praetors are not one big happy Phyrexian family, but why?

Each Praetor should have a specific idea of what Phyrexia is, and these ideas must ultimately come into conflict. Even those who appear to be in alignment should clash as the details of their goals become clear.

So, what do I think each Praetor should be thinking? Here are some brief summaries:

Elesh Norn sees both Phyrexia and compleation as ends into themselves. The purpose of Phyrexia is spread itself across the multiverse, for All to Be One. This is a blessing, a kindness, a way to end conflict and bring unity. Those who oppose Phyrexia are impulsive and selfish, denying themselves and others absolution, in favour of failed ideals such as freedom. Their destruction is a tragedy, but a necessary one. Like the excision of a tumor, it is unpleasant work, but in the end it is an act of healing.

Norn's ultimate goal is a single Phyrexian multiverse. All moves in accordance to its given purpose, a grand, endless machine. But it is not a silent machine. Hymn and prayer will echo through the compleated halls of the multiverse, the song of Phyrexia filling the branches of Realmbreaker. And at the center, Elesh Norn will finally know contentment.

On the surface, Jin-Gitaxias appears to have the same goal as Norn. Both she and the rest of the multiverse have made a critical misjudgement of the Gitaxian mission. When the Orthodoxy says that something will be made Phyrexian, it is an act of replacement. For Jin-Gitaxias, it is an act of consumption, the harvesting of a resource. All that is not Phyrexian will be rendered down, dissected into component parts. The greatest honour that can be given is for these parts to considered worthy of assimilation, to be integrated into Phyrexian perfection. Compleation extracts what is needed, and discards what is not, an endless iteration towards a convergence that may not exist.

For Jin-Gitaxias, there may be no end, no final Phyrexia. The synthesis will simply continue forever, chasing a goal that cannot be found. Or perhaps, once he can see far enough, the greatest secrets of the multiverse will be revealed. In his most fevered moments, Jin-Gitaxias may even consider that Phyrexia itself will become obselete.

As the closest adherent to the ways of Old Phyrexia, Sheoldred sees Phyrexia as a means, rather than an end. She is not superior because is Phyrexian, she is Phyrexian because she is superior. Compleation is a tool, both a reward for the worthy and a punishment for the unworthy. Sheoldred does not need to compleat the multiverse in its entirety. It is simply enough that it bows down before her. As long as the fleshlings know their place and purpose, they can continue to live their worthless lives.

Sheoldred's endgame produces what can, in the most charitable terms, be considered a form of co-existance between the compleat and incompleat. The Phyrexian elite rule, doing as they wish. The rest serve. But the opportunity for compleation is always there, the ascension to a greater form. Those who succeed shall be lauded. Those who fail will wish they had never tried.

Like his closest (?) sister (??), Urabrask sees Phyrexia as the means rather than the end. But while Sheoldred sees it as her tool to subjugate her enemies, Urabrask has come to see Phyrexia and compleation as a path to freedom. To many, it is an alien form of freedom, a freedom from your own limits, from your form and the world around you. You are your own great work, and you define what that means. Phyrexia gives you the tools to achieve it. And if there are those who oppose you? Well. They have the freedom to try. You have the freedom to retaliate until you are free from their opposition.

In the end, Urabrask believes that Phyrexia will be the self-evident choice. There will be no coercion because it will be unecessary. Some will merely dabble with compleation, while others will dedicate themselves fully to Phyrexia. Urabrask claims Phyrexia's victory in this form as an inevitability. Thus, where others claim tolerance, he is truly honest.

Vorinclex claims he has no ideology, no driving principle. He lies, to his followers, to his allies and enemies, and to himself. He believes in the supremacy of strength and violence, a "natural order" that is anything but natural. He desires a world without ideas such as cunning, cooperation or beauty, to him concepts linked only in their lack of worth. Yet these things emerge from nature, a million pressures selecting for their survival. Vorinclex claims thought is the opposite of strength, but he knows in truth it is its own kind of strength.

But the true seed of Vorinclex's madness is that he knows Phyrexia cannot be inevitable or eternal. Change is the only constant, and in time Phyrexia will change until it is no longer Phyrexian. That is if it survives. Like Jin-Gitaxias, Vorinclex carries a forbidden doubt, that Phyrexia can fall, that there is a greater strength waiting in the multiverse. A strength that has no need of Phyrexia.

Other Phyrexian ideologies are available. Perhaps Atraxa's views diverge from her creators, as her child Ixhel diverges from her. Some in the Surgical Bay may find Jin-Gitaxias' arguments insufficent, while the Hunter Maze holds those who reject the brutality of Vorinclex. Because like our own world, no people is a monolith. Every faith has it's heresy, every cause its divisions.

And given how Magic's five colours, well, colour how its worlds exist, so to should they colour New Phyrexia. As Ravnica holds ten guilds, Strixhaven five colleges or Tarkir five clans, New Phyrexia should in truth hold five Phyrexias.

Dick: Teen Beach Movie AU where Birdflash get transported into a 1960s musical and accidentally alter the plot, so they have to race against the clock to 1) get the movie's couple back together and 2) find a way back to the real world

Jason: college AU where seniors Jason, Roy, Kory, and Kyle go on a road trip for their final spring break and check off everything on their childhood bucket lists while facing the reality of what's gonna happen after they graduate

Tim: another college AU where someone gives Kon a fake number at a bar that turns out to be Tim's and they strike up a deal where they keep each other company over text on the condition that they don't reveal their identities; at the same time, they are long-standing art school rivals who got paired together for their final project

Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse Trailer Thoughts

Can I just start this post off by saying that I am totally normal? Over this movie? Perfectly reasonable in my level of hype and mentally well in every way? Mhm, trust me. Anyway, onto the blurbs!

-Seems Miles is at his teenage rebellion stage

-Miles' teacher telling him he's not doing too well in Spanish in front of his Puerto Rican mother is an ouch (in that it's hilarious, but not for him. Sorry Miles)

-Seems there's gonna be a rift between Miles and his parents now that he's Spider-Man full time and very much keeping it secret from them; maybe this movie is where they find out?

-Across the Spider Verse seems to also have a core theme of Miles going against the grain and doing things his way, forging his own individual path for how he wants to do Spider-Man. Looking forward to seeing a more grown up Miles that is able to go further into his self-exploration now that he's reaching older teen/young adulthood.

-I think Gwen and Miles might get together this movie which... eh. Alright. No hate to the ship, but the first movie felt very platonic save for Miles liking her cause she's a pretty girl, and rip to cishet society but that ain't enough to sell me on a relationship. Maybe they'll get some development in this movie? Until possibly that I'm just gonna enjoy them as friends personally

-Apparently Oscar Isaac voices Miguel... Doctor Strange was not kidding when he said the multiverse got screwed in NWH

-Here we have Jessica Drew, Marvel's first (continuous) Spider-Woman! She looks awesome, and based on how often she appeared in the trailer, I'm assuming she will play a key role.

-I also suspect she will help push the narrative around ATSV's theme of parenthood, with Miles having issues with his own, and Peter becoming a father.

-Regarding the race change for Jessica, I earlier referred to her as the first "continuous" Spider-Woman, because she was the first woman to notably don the spidey title. However, the first official Spider-Woman was actually a one-off character named Valerie the Librarian. Originally, Valerie had no powers; she instead went around as a non-super helping Peter Parker's Spidey in any way she could. Spider Verse has always been by black people for black people, so it doesn't surprise me that they (allegedly) are honing back to Valerie, a black woman and the first official Spider-Woman, to base Jessica's appearance on. Goes to show the creators did their homework, which I'm pleased to see.

She is so beautiful ma'am please take my hand in marriage; also, she's pregnant! She is literally hero-ing while pregnant, which I've realized is not something we really see like... ever. Granted, because its dangerous, but Spider Verse has always made strides to give more diverse female representation, and a pregnant spidey mirroring pregnant working women seems to be next on their list. Happy to see it!

-We got Miguel O'Hara! Admittedly I'm not the most familiar with him, but one doesn't traverse Marvel comic fandom without having heard of this guy. Based on what I'm seeing in the trailer, he looks like a very fun character and I'm excited to know more

-"Don't even get me started on Doctor Strange and the little nerd back on Earth-199999." I am... so normal about the acknowledgment of the MCU in Spiderverse. The multiverse really is converging, which on a meta sense is something I absolutely love so I am very excited to see where the Marvel universe heads.

-Also people have been saying Feige stated the MCU was Earth-616 and Spider Verse went against that, which they're happy about, so if someone could fill me in on what happens in Earth-616 I'd appreciate it!

Peter's back! And he has a spider baby! From what I've seen this is Mayday Parker, daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, and she does indeed get her father's spider abilities in the comics. Perhaps we'll see more of her in the future?...👀

Stab me, it would hurt less.

(Looks like Gwen's backstory is being explored more, which is a hooray moment, but its exploring her trauma, which is less hooray.)
