so when straight people ask me why I say I’m “queer” or “gay” instead of sharing my actual identity as a panromantic demisexual non-binary sapphic queer I just tell them “ok look, when you’re talking to someone who isn’t local and they ask you where you’re from and you either say the name of the largest city nearby or ‘town name, suburb of large nearby city’ so they can get some geographical context of where you’re located right, bc they’re probably not going to know the name of the little town you actually live in.”
but if you’re talking to a local you can say the name of your actual town bc they have a greater chance of knowing where/what that is.
ok well when I’m talking to a straight person I start with queer bc chances are they aren’t as familiar with the context of all the little towns in that big queer city and need gps (gay positioning system) to find me.
if I’m talking to another queer person and I say I live in a suburb of gay city in a town called panromantic on the demisexual side of the tracks which is in the county of queer and I live off the intersection of non-binary and sapphic, they’d probably be able to find me with little to no problems, make sense?

the funniest thing that’s happened to me recently is that someone seemingly tried to update my pronouns on the medical system but accidentally made it so that my actual name is now “They Them”

tired of nonbinary people being pressured to be thin hairless elf like pretty and always depicted as white afab skinny kids with blue hair, of course only using they/them. give me nonbinary people who are heavily fem/masc aligned!! give me nonbinary people who use neopronouns and xenogenders!! give me fat nonbinary people!! hairy nonbinary people!! nonbinary POC!! amab nonbinary people!! disabled nonbinary people!! nonbinary people who wear crazy clothes, or nonbinary people who don’t stand out and don’t feel the need to!! nonbinary people with names like Moss or Socks, or nonbinary people with “regular” names like Susan or James or something!! Give me every flavor of nonbinary people, and stop trying to make it into yet ANOTHER gender binary!! Nonbinary can be anything, not just a third gender to adhere to!!

I really wanna be apart of online non-binary spaces but so many of them are so…idk childish? There’s a lot of infantilizing language even amongst other nbs and it makes me feel outta place. Also very white

a long time ago, my roommates had an argument over whether or not hamburgers are sandwiches. this actually got heated to the point of one of the guys having to get upset and walk away because he was convinced that hamburgers are not sandwich, but instead their own classification of food.
people will pick any hill to die on- we as a species cannot 100% all agree on the definition of anything. that's why we can't agree on the definition of gay, queer, lesbian, trans, bi, pan, aromantic, asexual, etc. because we as a species just can't do that. we all have a unique perspective on what concepts are and what they mean.
if we can't agree on whether or not a hamburger is a sandwich or not, i think it's best if we learn to agree to disagree on what the "true" meaning of gay, lesbian, trans, queer, etc. are and just let people live their version of that identity in peace. at the end of the day it literally doesn't matter if you don't know if a hamburger is a sandwich or just a hamburger- you're still going to eat it and gain nutrients from it.
a trans person having a different definition of trans than you, or a lesbian defining lesbianism differently than what they've been told, or any other type of queer person defining their identity in their own way isn't a threat to you- at the end of the day, it doesn't stop them from being trans, a lesbian, queer, or whatever. disagreeing on the definition won't stop it from happening; it's just petty. not every hill is meant for someone to die on. let go

I don't know who needs to hear this, but:
It is absolutely fine to use a label, only to realise it doesn't suit you anymore. Labels aren't there to bind you to them. They serve as a way to better describe how one feels and what ones lived experience can be like.
I had two pipelines of relabeling myself simultaneously.
From bi to lesbian, and back to bi.
From asexual to demisexual (because I thought, that one day, maybe I feel this kind of attraction, as sex-ambivalent and oscillating were terms I related with, and still do), and back to being asexual.
Does that make me less sapphic or a-spec? Absolutely not.
And to be honest: I still haven't figured out if I'm demiromantic or aromantic. And that is perfectly fine. We don't own anyone an explanation, but ourselves.
If the label felt good at that time, but doesn't anymore, let it go and take the one that feels more fitting. ♡ We are human beings. We are allowed to grow. You are valid, no matter which label you choose.

Eddie, posting to Tiktok: Hey guys. Sorry about Steve tinfoil-hatting the background. We overheard someone talking about an NDA at dinner and now he thinks the FBI is going to kill us.
Steve: They were talking about someone breaking an NDA on the phone. Who (1) has an NDA and (2) breaks it? You! All the time.
Eddie: Baby, sweetheart. Steve! They sounded like a lawyer. A bad one in cheap ass shoes.
Steve: You don’t know what lawyers talk about! And did you see them? Bad hair, bad clothes, looks like they’ve never seen the fucking sun? That’s the fucking CIA, man.
Eddie, not winning this one: …Okay. Well. I’m going to put this on the internet. Then if we turn up dead, you can be vindicated.
Steve: That’s actually a good idea. Post it twice.
Their FBI agent watching this video as they come back from lunch: …Oh. Shit.

We need to talk about gender options when filling some forms!
Tumblr media
Because why can we only choose between binary genders and "I don't want to talk about it"?
I DO want to talk about it. A lot of us DO want to disclose it, even if it's different from the cis female and male. It's not that we do not want to share it, and it's already messed up that most forms don't even offer a third choice, but if they do offer one, at least it could say "Other".

I’m still not over this “former demon” thing. I mean, what does it MEAN. Is demon a job description? Can he choose not to be a demon? What about Aziraphale? He seems to think he’s still an angel, right? Even if he doesn’t work for heaven. And Crowley still calls him angel (also for endearment purposes probably, but still).
Or does Crowley just say it for Shax’s benefit. Not a demon anymore as in holy water can’t hurt me. (“He isn’t one of us anymore”)
Crowley doesn’t want to be a demon right? He never wanted to be. Does he just choose not to be? Like the same way he chose a new name?
He isn’t one of the bad guys. He didn’t want to be before, but he had to pretend at least (“I go along with hell as far as I can”). Now he just is his own thing. Not a demon. Not an angel. Crowley.

shoutout to nb folks who were afab and are extremely sick of being reduced to their assigned sex for being "one of the good ones", for the constant struggle of being seen as "basically woman"
shoutout to nb folks who's gender is "woman lite"
shoutout to nb folks who were amab and have to struggle with ostracization from the queer community and simply aren't seen or mentioned
feel free to add to this post! there's a lot I want to say but I don't feel like I can put the thoughts clearly into words
