I’ve learned that the best way to get inspiration for characters in certain careers is to find firsthand accounts from people within those careers.

So, in researching for Pharma and Flatline, I found some combat medic skits on YouTube, and I am LOSING MY MIND at some of these comments:

hiii! in this post i will be giving all my advice as to how i live a lucky life everyday & how to have LUCKY GIRL SYNDROME! everything that happens to me is so lucky it sometimes astounds me! this mini guide will include everything from mindset shifts, tips, and affirmations! <3 so grab a snack, a yummy beverage and get cozy!!

♡ a bit about me personally, i truly believe that i live an extremely lucky life. i dont live in a mansion, i don't own super rich stuff, i do actually feel left out with some friends, and i'm an extremely sensitive person so you can imagine how that must be. i'm just your average girl who goes to school, comes home, eats, etc. so PLEASE dont be fooled into thinking that you always need more or a certain thing or status, whatever it may be, to live a lucky life. i know its confusing, but just hear me out.

♡ MINDSET SHIFTS!

you get to choose what you define as "unlucky". this was THE BIGGEST thing that made me view myself as super lucky!! you actually get to CHOOSE that when something happens to you, do you choose to view it in a way where it could only ever be bad for you, or are you willing to see it as maybe you were divinely protected from something you had no idea about ... which leads me to my next point,

things happen FOR you, not TO you. of course, as i said earlier you can choose to see things in a lens like "oh of course that happened, the universe is out to get me" OR you can choose to see it as "that may have looked like it sucked but thank you god/ universe for protecting me and guiding me!! i may not know why that happened, but i trust that god/ universe has planned everything only for my greater good." because honey trust me, luck is all up there, in your mind. the exact same thing could happen to 2 people but its just their mindset and thinking process that will determine the quality of their life.

look at all that you do have!! GRATITUDE!! i *do not care* if this is a cliche or whatever BUT YOU BETTER LISTEN UP. (ahem, sorry.) but as i said at the top, gratitude will save you. yes, at first it will seem boring or useless or maybe even hard but once you start to train your brain focusing more on what you do have, the good, the happiness in your life, the more easily it will go there.

all about perspective. you may be complaining about trivial things right now like not winning in a game or not being where you want to be in life, but you have a roof over your head, an education, a family, a device, clean clothes, clean water & food. you’re already more fortunate than a lot of the population. so learn to be grateful with what you have right now because you never know if it will be taken away.

start training your brain to see things in a more positive light. it may not come so easily to you in the beginning, but the more you start realising and stopping yourself in the spiral of the lack mindset, and actually walk yourself through the whole process of changing your perspective on this thing, the more it will come naturally to you!

♡ BARBIE & NOVA:

just to clear everything up a bit, lets meet Barbie and Nova and see how they react to the same situation happening to them.

SITUATION 1: missing the bus oh no! Barbie and Nova had stumbled out their house and sprinted towards the bus but unfortunately, it had already left.

how Nova reacts: ugh, of course this happened! nothing ever good happens to me anyway. i swear the universe is actually like out to get me or something. i just wish i could get lucky just this once!

how Barbie reacts: dang it that sucks! buuutt.... what if i just got saved by a terrible accident? or what if when i went on that bus i would have seen or heard something that would make me feel even worse than how this feels right now? oh my, thank you god for protecting me!! i can't believe i was saved like that.

SITUATION 2: getting a high grade in class they just got their results back from a recent science test and they both got 98% !

how Nova reacts: YES!! FINALLY i get something right! finally i am lucky! oops i hope i don't jinx it

how Barbie reacts: omg yay!! im so happy! i really did deserve that, i worked really hard. thank you god!

do you see how no matter what the situation may be, Barbie is always grateful. she always thanks god/ the universe. on the other hand, Nova instead still believes that she was born unlucky so everything she thinks operates from that sort of place!

♡ PRACTICAL TIPS

focus on how you use your energy throughout the day. desperation reeks and will push any manifestations away. let go and let life. when you know you are a good and pure person who will put in the work and have faith and trust that everything will work out in the end, thats all you need to do

everyday, start consciously thinking of or writing down 3 things you’re grateful for. this is certainly a skill that you must practice frequently and once you do being grateful will come to you naturally!

‘proof portfolio’ when something happens to you that is lucky, write it down! (i write it down in my notes app) doesn’t matter if it’s really small or big, write it down so that when you don’t feel lucky you can look to this as proof otherwise!

♡ AFFIRMATIONS!

affirmations a great for drilling something into your mind to remind you that you already have everything you desire!! i recommend writing it down, repeating these in front of a mirror or even just to yourself but when you say it, say it with meaning. say it as if you’re actually speaking it into existence!

on days he's busy with baymax and other robotics projects he comes out of his lab smelling more like metal, lubricant, oil, soldering-- all that stuff that comes with mechanical tinkering and is conscious of it; if he has a class after he will go home and shower and make himself a matcha latte and he smells like a bakery all over again

crazy well-regarded not just in his own department but in school overall

like not only was he able to make a portable huggable robot capable of 10,000 medical procedures with a built in defibrillator which is actually insane legend crazy work on its own

but he's insanely nice and kind to anyone he passes by on campus and offers help whenever he can

^ many girls and even some guys are head over heels for him they can't fathom that he's a real person and not some prince that came out of a fairytale

he's lowkey a loser when it comes to his brother (and other aspects covered later) though

since hiro and aunt cass are all he has left of his family he's insanely protective of them, especially hiro who is in his teenage rebellious years

like in an argument with hiro when hiro says something mean to him in the heat of the moment like "Why are you like this?! It's none of your business!!" or whatever he gets sad and even beats himself over it lowkey like "Am I a bad brother after all...?"

there have been multiple instances in which he didn't hang with the gang because he wouldn't trust hiro to run off and get into a botfight in some shady ass crevice of the city SCENE: hiro is grounded by tadashi yet again and tadashi insists to escort hiro to and from school Hiro: Why do I have to be dropped off by you? And you're picking me up too?! And why do I have to wear this stupid T-Shirt?!!! [t-shirt says "i got in trouble for not listening to my brother and nearly getting us arrested]

lowkey needs glasses but has contacts, will wear them if in a rush

Just wanted to see if you're actually gonna give it to me." You said with a cheeky smile as you threw yourself ontop of him on the couch. "Ofcourse, I'll give to you. My things are your things." He said as he gently ran his fingers through your hair. You giggled as you looked up at him with doe eyes making him melt in the process. "It was actually a tiktok I saw this morning and the guy in the video was such a red flag. He started asking millions of questions and didn't even give her his phone at the end." You shared as he stared at your beautiful face with tender eyes and a soft smile. "But you are THE green flag." You said as a red tint made it's way up your face, exposing your flustered state under sunoo's loving eyes. Sunoo chuckled as he cupped your face and give you a soft kiss on your forehead. "And you are THE green flag girlfriend, that's for sure." He said as he held you protectively.

You were about to commence with your plan when Jungwon's phone suddenly started ringing. You stayed there not knowing what to do until Jungwon looked up from his book and glanced at his phone that was jnfront of you. "darling, can you please answer the phone for me?" He asked giving you his best puppy eyes that always worked. You stood there, starstruck. "You want me to answer your phone for you?" You asked. Jungwon looked at you with a frown as he nodded. "Yes, baby. It's not like I'm hiding anything from you." He said with a find smile before returning back to his book, leaving you and his ringing phone alone. You answered the phone and it turned out to be Ni-ki asking if he could leave Bisco with you and Jungwon for a few day, which you happily accepted. As soon as the phone call ended, you tackled Jungwon on the couch, making him chuckle and hold you tightly. "What's wrong, pretty girl?" He asked, not used to the sudden act of affection. "Nothing, I just love you." You whispered, burying your face in the crook of his neck making him chuckle. "I love you, gorgeous." He said back, as he looked at you with the most loving eyes before leaving a soft kiss on your plump lips.

Your gentle knocks were unnoticed by Ni-ki who had his gaming headphones on and pressing random keyboard keys while playing a video game. You peeked your head inside making Ni-ki a little startled. "Hey, babe. What's up?" He asked he muted his mic and took his headphones off, but still aggressively pressing random keyboard keys. "Hello, can I ask a weird question?" You ask, running your fingers through his fluffy hair, making him lean into your touch more. "Oh no. What is it?" He asked with a smirk and a playful glint in his eyes. You smacked his the back of his head lightly before saying, "can I have your phone for a sec? He looked away from his computer for a second to glance at you before returning back to the game. "That's it? Well, yeah. Here." He said, removing one hand from the keyboard and handing you his phone. "Oh.. just like that?" You asked, dumbfoundedly looking at his phone that is placed on the palm of your hand. Ni-ki paused the game and turned his chair towards you. "What do you mean?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer. "Nothing. Just thought you would ask why." You said as your face flushed a little making Ni-ki chuckle at your cuteness. "You're adorable. Also, my phone has nothing except for games and pictured of you, so I don't see why you shouldn't take it." He said as he rested his chin on your stomach, looking up at you with a fond smile. You wrapped your arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. Before leaving the room, without the phone, giggling.

So what if she was on the enemy team? That was a problem Sniper could easily solve with a little persuasion.

Your team refused to listen to you at all. You felt like you were being watched. Stalked even.

During battles, you could feel the same pair of eyes on you as you crossed the field to help your teammates out with something they needed. When you would turn to confront whoever it was, you discovered that it was Sniper. But not your sniper. The BLU Sniper.

You remember feeling your breath hitch when he steadied his rifle at you, assuming he would shoot. But instead…he just watched, his head tilting slightly as you made eye contact. You broke eye contact, and it made him smirk, before he fired narrowly missing your head.

Stuff like this continued throughout battles, he would follow you around, always smirking, eyes hidden behind those damn aviators that he wore. Sometimes he would confront you himself, he was taller than you, always using his lanky form to cover you easily, hovering over you, never killing you.

Just…admiring?

And each time you told your team about this, begging for someone to help you, they didn’t take you seriously, Why would the enemy sniper be following you like a lost puppy? It made you frustrated, You just wanted to do your fucking job!

So you took it upon yourself to confront him.

Near the end of a match, you managed to catch him. Using your strength, you managed to force him to turn and face you, your gun now raised and pointed at his chest.

“What..Is your problem?” You finally asked him, glaring at him, your hands were trembling from how mad you were, and he seemed to find that funny.

“Your shakin’ roo.”

“ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTION BUSHMAN.” You shouted pushing your gun closer to him, and your actions only make him laugh at you.

He laughs for a bit longer before he suddenly lunges at you, snatching your gun away and pinning you back against a wall, and you went to scream for your team when he slammed his hand over your mouth.

“Scream. And I’ll blow your brains out and have My Medic put you back together.” He whispered the threat in your ear, making you freeze, he then smirks before slowly pulling back just to look into your eyes. He lifts his aviators and grips your chin.

“Ain’t it obvious.?” He starts before leaning closer to you. “I like ya..like ya way more than those stupid RED Blokes ever will.”

He pulls your body closer, wrapping his other hand around your waist. “Been watching you, Sheila..watching how you’re treated ova’ there..thinking..what’d i give to have her be mine.”

You went to push him away. “excuse me? We are enemies! You’ve lost your mind!” You squirmed in his grip and he only smirks.

“You’re acting like I’m givin’ ya a choice.”

You didn’t have time to react before he placed a clothe over your nose, you squirmed in his grip, pushing and trying to get away from him, but he starting dragging you towards the BLU base.

He was surprisingly strong for someone so lanky (little did you know he’d been practicing for this moment, and his rifles aren’t light ya know) so you could feel yourself getting tired. He only smirks as he presses a kiss to your cheek as once you go limp in his arms, he changed to carrying you bridal style.

“Hmph..’bout time ya stopped fightin’..welcome to your new home Sheila..”

It's my birthday, so I'm indulging myself and drawing something for my Evil NSR AU (not the canon silly evil where the characters are misguided, but like really evil — especially the older NSR members). I was originally inspired by this post. [Also click for better quality]

Here are some headcanons about both Nova and J within the AU 👇:

DJ Subatomic Supernova

• Some kind of space cult leader, who mainly uses people's discontentment and loss of purpose for his own gain.

• He wears an IVA spacesuit and vows to lead humanity to extraterrestrial worlds in his lifetime.

• His followers either call him "The Avatar of Earth" or "Helios" ("Helios", because he sometimes appears bright like the sun, when in truth, he's actually more like a black hole: sucks the light and warmth from around him)

• If his academic competency or intelligence ever gets questioned, he immediately pulls out his doctoral degree (he has numerous copies of it and carries at least one on his person at all times).

• Is extremely talented at making people feel insecure and diminished, meanwhile he constantly highlights his own excellency and greatness (he even shapeshifts to appear bigger, if needed).

• He's very charismatic and manipulative. You'd better have received some special training if you wanted to be unaffected by his massive gravitational pull — and it still might not work.

Hey how do you do the color gradient thing for your dialog tags?

Assuming you mean these things, I've actually been meaning to make a guide of my own for a while lol.

For one, you can only do this on computer/the website of Tumblr! There's no option to select this stuff on the app.

STEP 1: CREATE A NEW DOC / GO TO SETTINGS

It opens a dropdown menu/whole screen full of options!

From there, select the "text editor" dropdown, which starts as displaying "rich text".

Select "HTML"

And it should change how the entire post looks!

STEP TWO: CHEAT

Yeeeeeaaaaah, so I use a website for this lol

I inserted my colors for faeries (#30853C) and Cloud (#6DC1B4) for my example of "these things" earlier. To make this easier, I most often have two windows open at a time while working on uploading my scripts to Tumblr.

To get colours to insert into the Text Colorizer website, you can use any kind of hex color picker or even this one website I've used to yoink "thematic" colors from photos!

Personally, I've developed a massive library of colors over time for this exact purpose lol. Using my old colors as a "base", I can change it accordingly to the kind of "new color" that I want for a specific character or thing!

(I'll use the website to also make gradients for "in-between" colors lol)

STEP 3: INSERT TEXT / DESIRED COLORS

To make Nova's gradient, I start with #A600D9, my color for Magic, and end with #F56745—their individual color. However, being as it's short, I'll use a quote from them instead lol.

Once you've inserted your text and colors, you will click in the text box I highlighted in red, ctrl+a and ctrl+c to copy it all, and go back over to your new tumblr post tab!

From there, you'll ctrl+v to paste the entirety into the HTML area, which pastes the code into your post!

AND VOILA!

You have gorgeous gradient text!

However, I want to give a fair warning and a bit of advice! If you didn't notice wayyyyyyy back when...

Tumblr warns that this all can break your formatting!

It doesn't do it too often, but take it from someone who does an obscene amount of formatting... it's 100% true.

STEP 4: CHEAT SOME MORE!

For this reason, I personally have a whole separate draft post full of my characters' colors (and names lol) that I use to copy-paste them in from rather than using the "html" text editor on every post!

I mentioned earlier I often have multiple windows open while editing? Here's what that looks like!

Additionally, I'll use a separate tab off on the left (my "current wip post" side) with the "html editor" enabled for me to copy-paste stuff!

(Also here's yet another example of how many colors I have)

Once again, you can ctrl+c these things to paste them into another tumblr post with the correct colors!

And it's ONLY possible to do on the website!!!

EXTRA INFO!

WARNING:

Tumblr will only allow each "paragraph's html to be so many characters long, so you can't have too big of anything in a gradient!

And by "anything"... I mean you really can't have that big of a gradient in general. RIP lol.

It straight-up won't save the post so long as you have that "overflow" in the character block! MAKE SURE YOU'VE FIXED IT, OR YOU CAN AND WILL LOSE ALL PROGRESS ON YOUR POST!

SINGLE-COLOR TIP:

You don't need the website for a single color! If you'd like, you can just change the "color code" within the html editor to change specific colors!

MAKE SURE COLORS CAN WORK ON DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS!

On desktop, you can use shift+p while not on any sort of textbox to change the color pallet! I always do tests to see which colors work best before settling on any!

(Tho, the blue background SPECIFICALLY is nightmarish to work around. So if that's the ONLY thing I can't make work, I often ignore it and let you guys who use it suffer lmao)

(Hopefully this'll give you guys some respect for me and how much I do to make my posts aesthetic af lol)

Solarion (1st image is character sheet, 2nd is another outfit exploration I did) read more below⬇️⬇️⬇️

I’ve decided to mess with you little bit like Solarion messes with people lol, so plot twist- Solarion is girl, I know, shocking- her real name is K… yes just K (I wanted to call her so me really long complicated name… but I find it quite interesting having only one letter as name)

She uses voicechanger bc she knows that people will take her more seriously as male vigilante than if they knew the truth, but she also does that to protect herself and her identity… Of course spidey team doesn’t know about her true identity and neither does S.H.I.E.L.D. ... It’s really hard to track her down bc everyone is convinced that Solarion is a man, but also bc she no longer has family nor friends, she dropped out of highschool and she doesn’t do nearly anything else besides vigilante stuff (maybe she sometimes goes clubbing at night to lose some steam)

I kinda think she is not American (well bc I’m not too lol so you have to deal with it now), she is from somewhere in Europe (haven’t decided from where yet, but when I will write someday about her origin story I will definitely mention it so stay tuned)… after one incident she had nothing left to lose so she moved to New York to fight villains and help people (she needed to find some meaning to her life)… she became masked vigilante named Solarion and quickly became really popular amongst people (you can read more about that stuff in my previous post)

Ofc Spidey team is not happy about Solarion, he sometimes get to places faster than them and defeat villain before they even arrive, so naturally they sees him as competition (I write him bc they think she is man, I know it’s bit confusing), but lot of times he is very cooperative and helps them in fights and on the other hand they often save his ass from getting beaten too, but still they don’t like much each other mainly because how unserious and reckless he can be, because of his double meaning jokes, but also bc of how well he can connect with regular people (lot of people root for him)

I already wrote about Solarions relationship with Spidey and Nick Fury in my last post about him but here are some headcanons and stuff about him and other characters:

1. Nova really despises Solarion, mainly because of how he constantly humiliates him, but also he is bit jealous of Solarions popularity amongst young people, how they adore him or how they copy his style… Nova always pokes fun about Solarions outfits like “nice outfit, did you find it in dumpster” but secretly he is just bit salty about that he didn’t came up with that idea before Solarion… also I think he once tried to wear regular clothes over his hero suit but got memed on social media so bad (or called Solarion fanboy or wannabe) that he never did it again… they make fun of each other all the time, but that doesn’t stop fangirls from shipping them (Nova hates it, Solarion loves it lol)

2. Powerman doen’t really get how others can be so annoyed with Solarion, he knows that Solarion likes to rage bait them and always tells Nova to just ignore him and focus on mission (nova never listens), he actually doesn’t mind him that much as long as he helps them and actually thinks that Spidey and Solarion are not that different maybe because how they both manage to joke in most inappropriate situations… also at some point he starts calling Solarion bro (Solarion is so happy about it and tries to hide it, but sometimes that spark of joy is way to visible) and he calls him bro back ofc

3. White tiger also despises him, mainly because Solarion jokingly flirts with her and calls her kitty, she finds it disgusting (for Solarion it is mostly just a cover to hide his identity, although he really likes how she looks while fighting, bi curiosity lol)… she hates how arrogant he can be, whenever he smirks at her during fight she gets irrationally annoyed but doesn’t know why… out of everyone Ava is most suspicious about his identity, something about his movements and mannerism feels off, but she can’t put her finger on it

4. Iron fist never gets frustrated with Solarion’s sarcasm, he treats it like a puzzle rather than problem - he just observes him and tries to find some patters and reasons why Solarion might be like that… after listening to his rants he just tells him “you should try out meditation and finding some balance” and solarion answers “I am balanced - balanced between being super awesome and being super hot”, also Danny either really hates Solarions inappropriate jokes (mostly because his mind suppose to be stay pure and focused) or he doesn’t get them at all

So in nutshell they are not very happy about Solarion lol, although Peter is more sympathetic towards him than others… they sometimes hang out on rooftops for moment after long day and just talk for while… but this all is how things are before they find out Solarions true identity

Also I m so sorry for how poorly is this written but I just can’t do better today, but I swear I will write more stuff (and hopefully better stuff) in near future… hope you like my rant but also art :))))

Dialogue!!!11:

The main thing I did over the past week or so was put together this dialogue system. The system itself was fairly easily to implement, and I think the only interesting part of the process to share is how I went about making the UI. As per usual, I wanted to have a cool mechanical feeling ui, but at the same time a friend of mine suggested an AOL instant messenger inspired chat window. I loved both of these ideas so I decided to combine them into a screen that pops up and contains the aim-like window. The modeling process for the screen was similar to how I went about making the other two bits of ui that are on screen in the above photos, but I decided to include a VGA port.

VGA PORT:

I didn't originally plan to include a VGA port, but I was in the middle of researching monitors and accidentally left a window open on my computer that just had a big photo of one and I went "wait a minute.". With my final two braincells I suddenly decided to slap together a model for the port which I ended up being proud enough of to, for some reason, make an entire section for it.

Sorry if any of the above sentences read horribly. I am going to need a third braincell if you want this stuff to be coherent. Anyway, Blender is so cool. Using the array modifier to make all these lil squares for the holes in the port is just such a satisfying process. I've come to really like makin pre-rendered assets like this.

New Movez:

This is actually a pretty big inclusion, and I probably should've ranked it in my mind above the VGA port. I added some new movement options to the game!

Firstly, I added this melee move where you swing the back of the sniper forwards to propel yourself a bit. It is mainly useful as a bunnyhop that allows you to conserve momentum.

Next up I added this kick that happens if you melee while in the air. It's basically just the one from mario64. It lets you gain a little bit more height and distance. It also becomes way more effective if you have a lot of momentum. A good tool for correcting jumps and reaching new heights.

Finally, we have the big schmovement slide. This slide gives you a huge burst of speed that you can jump out of in order to send your self flyin. Surprisingly, it didn't really break any of the level design and ended up being a really fun addition imo. In order to perform it, you have to do a ground pound and then melee as you hit the ground. Also, I feel like I basically stole this from pseudoregalia. Played through that recently and it has been a good source of inspiration.

Nova!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

This is a cameo skin I've been really excited to finally make myself put in the game. Anodyne 2 is a really important game to me, and I love it much. I'm really happy tha folks at analgesic let me put her in here, and I'm p happy with how her model came together. If you haven't peeped the Anodyne games I highly recommend them. The first one was a major inspiration for parts of Fatum Betula.

Conclusion:

Lately I've been playing this game way too much. It has made it impossible for me to tell if it is fun or well designed. Some problems cropped up during playtesting that ima need to address, and I hope that it all comes together into something that one could say is "fun and cool". I think takin this weekend off is gonna do my brain good. Oh yeah also I feel like I should advertise that I'm still doing commissions if anyone is interested. Anyway, have a good 1 and enjoy urself.

Circus Au

This was so silly to draw, I giggled the whole time. Basically a crack au that I thought of last night because I love drawing circus related stuff. Here’s some stuff I thought off on the fly down below

So basically instead of being in a motel when he gets the post card he’s in a circus that’s in Minnesota at the moment.

While he was running from Rico he noticed a circus and trailed with them since his bright red car kind of blended in. They found out and the ringmaster who’s old as dirt takes a liking to him. Even though he said the show was a bit crappy.

Now mind you this is in the past so a lot of circuses still used animals in their shows. There was a brown bear that was supposed to be apart of the show but had been extremely temperamental for the last couple of months. Not sure how exactly, but Stan works his magic and the bear becomes super attached to him.

The bear is his little fur baby that he gets to the point of letting her out of the cage whenever. It’s an actual problem that Stan 100% doesn’t care about. I guarantee they’ve just barely avoided lawsuits.

His job is to help with the bear and basically be an assistant for the ringmaster. He does spend some of his free time talking to one of the Clowns in the circus. She tells him to call her Cookie, he knows it’s not her real name but it’s not like he gave his either. He goes by Steven Linden.

His first thought about Cookie is that she’s super strange, she had bright red hair (super uncommon at the time), a gold tooth and bells hanging from her hair. They do end up bonding about their inability to not cause at least a minor amount of chaos. They become close besties, enough that she does learn his real name and some of his history later on.

The circus isn’t home but he hasn’t felt this put together (just barely) in ages, and he likes the easy companionship he has with Cookie and Nova (I’ve decided that’s the bears name). Nevermind the fact that he was involved in two fights and didn’t even get kicked out. Sure he still sleeps in his car but at least he’s getting full meals and a paycheck (barely anything).

Not sure what else I’m putting in it but this is what came to me so far.
