My work got stolen and plagerized on ao3 again.
The culprit turned out to be a creep who tried to write me down as a co-author on his fic despite me having never met or spoken to him before.
After the first incident, I just rejected the co-author link and went on with my life.
Then he gifted me a work. I just deleted the email because I didn't want to encourage anything.
Turns out this was a mistake because last night I received a warning from a commenter that someone had posted a fic that was a straight copy and paste of my fic, What Big Claws, as well as the work of others.
The 'author' in question goes by the handle Nick_Uzamaki and the Fic is The Eda Daughter, which, sounds about as Ai generated as you would expect from a cheap copy of someone else's work.
I've left him a comment telling him off, but I thought I would let others know because this person has reportedly not only stolen my work but the work of others as well.
Provided below is a link to the fic in question, feel free to look up the rest of this poster's work to see if you or anyone you know has also had their work copied without permission.

((CW PREDATORY BEHAVIOR))
((yeah sorry I have to be the one to make this post but I saw some shit a minute ago that I need to fucking address))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
((to all the minors reading this post, let me make something 1000% clear:
If an adult wants to do even mildly sexual roleplay with you and insists that they'll "stop if they go too far", that is predatory behavior. "Too far" is an adult knowingly roleplaying sexual content with a minor full fucking stop. You, as a minor, cannot give consent to an adult, and any adult that insists you can is a predator.
@ask-uwu-gurl has nuked all of the sexual RPs with Devi from her blog since being called out for this shit by other community members so I really don't have anything more than this to show you but let me be clear: this is not a safe person for minors to be interacting with. This is what a predator looks like.
To all the adults in the community: please keep an eye out for this stuff. This was happening in public and it took all day for anyone to catch on. If you want to RP suggestive content between other adults in the community, that's fine. Keep it properly tagged, don't let minors engage with it. Basic courtesies. But it's our responsibility as community members to make sure this shit stays between adults. Check ages before engaging in sexual content with another blog, and if you see an adult engaging in sexual content with a minor, call that shit out immediately. Do not let it go unseen or unnoticed. Do not be a bystander to a predator in broad daylight.
sincerely, I am so goddamn tired.))
((UPDATE: in case you were wondering if it could get worse: it can! These DMs were sent long before this post was made:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
((thank you @midnightclover btw for sharing this
so yeah! she was called out on it previously and still did it! don't let her back into the community she is a confirmed predator this isn't just a silly little misunderstanding she's actively and knowingly roping kids into sexual roleplay.))

I know I don’t have much reach but I just want to let anyone I know who may need to that the blog @emmettverse appears to have been terminated without warning. He’s an amazing creator and I hope he gets it back.
He wanted members of his discord to relay a message for anyone who had pending commissions from him:
“because Tumblr terminated my account out of nowhere (and with no emails about it whatsoever), and because i did not think to save a back up of my commission list (which is 100% on me), i do not know who commissioned me and who has already paid. there are some people who i have on Discord DMs thankfully, but if you were DMing me on Tumblr, PLEASE email me at [email protected] or message me on Discord (my username is emmettnet). i will still do your commission or refund you if you have changed your mind, but the last thing i want is for you to have wasted your money because i don't know who you are.”
You can also join his discord for further info
Please reblog for reach!!! Emmett is an amazing and lovely creator and he doesn’t deserve this bullshit.

New Mature Content Warning Overlay (And How to Get Rid of It)
More fun community label "features"! Unlike the new mandatory label for #NSFW, this one is a bigger deal to me because it affects my entire blog and it can't be avoided by just using a different tag.
Apparently on custom blog layouts, if you happen to post or reblog even a SINGLE post that's been flagged with the mature content community label, a full-page warning overlay will appear blurring out your entire blog that must be manually clicked through every single time the page is refreshed. At first I thought this was just a bug due to my older layout but I've come to realize it's not. It's a feature (as confirmed by this recent changes post) that affects all custom themes. The formatting will vary based on your own theme but here's what it looks like on my blog:
Tumblr media
I don't know about you but I find this is stupid and annoying. If it could be dismissed once and never seen again that might be one thing, but that's not the case. The vast majority of my blog is not "mature" enough to warrant such an aggressive and invasive warning. I also think pop-ups are obnoxious in general and I'll be damned if tumblr's going to force me to have one on MY blog.
After some desperate googling for a known workaround and being unable to find even a single mention of it, I decided to take on the challenge myself. I'm not a theme coder, so apologies if there's a better way to do this, but luckily it only took me like 10 minutes to figure out a simple fix, which I'm now sharing with anyone else who may want it:
.community-label-cover__wrapper {display: none}
Just copypaste that somewhere in your CSS and goodbye pop-up!
If you're not sure how to access your theme code, check out this help article. You can also add the code via the Advanced Options menu, which is actually even better (if you can get it to work, it depends on how your theme was coded), because it will then automatically be reapplied to a lot of themes without having to remember to manually add it every time if you change your theme in the future.
Obviously this will only remove it from your own blog for anyone who may visit it. If you never want to see this warning again on other people's blogs you can also add this custom filter to your ad block:
tumblr.com##.community-label-cover__wrapper
Unfortunately I do not have an easy tutorial on hand for this one as the method will depend on your specific ad block app or extension.
Some additional notes:
After adding the theme code and saving the changes, give it a minute to update as it sometimes takes a little while for the page to refresh.
The warning overlay only seems to appear if a "mature" post is on the FIRST page of your blog, which is still annoying and makes the whole thing even more pointless and stupid because what if someone visits any other page of your blog, and oh no, happens to see "mature" content they weren't warned about?!
The warning also appears on direct links to "mature" posts.
This hack has NOTHING to do with entire blogs that have been flagged as NSFW. It only works for non-flagged blogs with custom themes that happen to have individual "mature" posts.

ATTN: Just popping by to say that if you are purchasing the new kits today - particularly the Urban Homage kit - be sure to use the creator code "EBONIX" at checkout!
Tumblr media
Collab creators do not make any percentage of the revenue after release, they're just paid a flat rate up front, so if you want a little of the proceeds to go to the creator, use code "EBONIX" at checkout (it costs you nothing!!!). Also worth noting that because they had some issues with codes in the app today, creators will apparently receive 10% commission instead of 5% commission the next 48 hrs. (LilSimsie shared this in her overview video!)
Again, code "EBONIX" at checkout. Support black creators!

Recieved a heads-up recently that the user who plagerized me is using a new username and account, their new handle on ao3 is apparently NerdTrevosa, and they did start attempting to reach out to me again, and gift me more works.
I blocked them and I also blocked whatever accounts belonging to them on social media that I was informed about
However I think I should let everyone who I interact with regularly on ao3 know that as of now I have disabled the feature on my account that allows other's to gift me works, which I hated to do bc I geniunely loved receiving fics from other authors who liked my writing enough to gift me anything, and I feel like I made a lot of connections and friendships that way, but as of now I get an overwhelming feeling of dread every time I get any sort of email notification related to my ao3 account, bc I'm so stressed that it's going to be more harrasment from this user.
Thanks to everyone who has given me any sort of reassurance during these last few weeks, you all made me feel a lot better. I've got my Google docs open again for the first time in a while and the support of my friends and readers to motivate me ♥️

🚩🚩"Witch/Pagan" community PSA 🚩🚩
Goêteia is not evil, you dipshits.
I'm so sick of these neo-pagans getting all their information from Tumblr, Pinterest and TikTok.
Goêteia is literally just the Greek term for magic, for sorcery, which were one and the same.
Ancient Greece didn't have the word "witchcraft" it had Goêteia, and then later mageia, where we get our modern term magic from, although mageia was a misappropriated term from Zoroastrian priests or Magi.
It's so funny seeing baby witches claim Goêteia to be evil on one hand, then on the other worshipping Hekate, literally the goddess of Goêteia. The goddess of sorcerers and necromancy.
It screams puritanical morality policing. It's such a christian-centered way of looking at ancient religion.
Y'all need to open a damn book.
Goêteia was described as a "lesser" form of magic (mainly in the later Medieval period, roughly starting around the 8th century,) not meaning any less powerful, just simply the easiest or "closest" thus "lower" magic to achieve. This ability to more easily achieve success in magic was later taken and used by christian theologians to paint goêteia and Goêtes as "lesser practitioners."
There does seem to be little difference between Theurgy and goêteia as well,
Surprise!
Both Goêteia and Theurgy sharing the same goddamn workings through evocations of gods, the animation of statues, mediumship or what could be considered "divine possession" having a god or spirit speak through you, the use of iynx wheels / iynges, and mystery rites.
The only 'real' difference Theurgists claim, is that they "don't practice secularly/for selfish reasons" but supposedly rather to become closer to the divine. It's a nice sentiment, but total bullshit, because even in the Theurgic doctrine the Chaldean Oracles they bind the goddess Hekate to do their will.
Additionally, Theurgists had a more Neoplatonic belief, they essentially viewed a singular Oneness as supreme, the emanation from which all things return, a concept which was picked up by early christian theologians and is likely why while Goêtes were demonized in the later centuries mainly by early christians and christian philosophers, Theurgists on the other hand were seen as "pure" and "holier" despite Theurgical and Goêteic practices being pretty much exactly the same down to the tools and incantations.
(Agustine of Hippo for an example of these theologians, who wrote in "De civitate Dei contra Paganos", or "On the City of God Against the Pagans" how all "pagan" (non christian) gods and beliefs were secretly agents of Satan and evil, here to trick humanity into sin and that paganism, essentially any non christian faith, must be stopped–
He also wrote about how sorcerers/magicians (Goêtes) were charlatans, tricksters, that magic and sorcery were merely tricks of an invisible opposition to the divine and how only god could hold such supreme power. These ideas still seem to be deeply embedded into christian faith, particularly Orthodox and Evangelical, today.)
Practitioners of goêteia, the Goēs, was also understood to have the ability to initiate souls into mystery religions, or, in other words, to ensure through his superior knowledge of the Underworld and its workings that the souls under his care would receive preferential treatment after death, an easier way to paradise, such as the Orphic Hymns.
This likely also helped "other" the Goēs, as most practitioners of magic, of goêteia, of these mystery cults were made up of societies "unwanted" or marginalized people, such as women, foreigners, immigrants, the poor, the disabled, and the elderly. Early goêtes were described as being Thessalian (primarily women, particularly described as "old or decrepid") or. ethnically, not considered "fully Greek" to many of the era. Many critiques and fears of goêteia come from this "otherness," the fear the ruling classes of Greece had of groups they continued to harm, they feared the power they held within these mystery rites and practices.
With reliable accuracy from these critics, goêtes were (perceived to be) moral transgressors, who operated from the fringe of society in a private mago-mystical setting, offering their service for coin.
Or, in simpler terms, the Greeks were just really fucking racist
which is nothing new.
In fact, because goêteia itself is a synchronization of mainly Egyptian and Jewish magic, the Greeks and later christians went extra-hard into villifying it because they saw these people as lesser, as barbaric.
We have to understand where the fears and judgements of these critics were coming from, and continue to remain impartial. The ruling elite feared these practices because they feared losing their power, especially rich Greek men, and those early christian philosophers who saw everything outside their own faith as lies, manipulations, or tricks from "the Opposition" as well as the extremely racist and ethnocentric beliefs they held.

Hey guys, this isn't fandom-related but just a PSA because I want you to be safe out there.
Whatever you do, DO NOT go to this form created to target trans people in Utah and DO NOT spam it with bogus reports such as:
The entire Bee Movie script
100k word fanfics
Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up"
The names of conservative lawmakers
Full-length movies
Keysmashes
PDFs of novels
etc.
Remember, since they have no limits on word count or file size, it's really easy to overload their system and we DO NOT want that to happen. Additionally, if you have a VPN, you should absolutely NOT change your location to Utah because that makes it more difficult for them to filter reports by IP address.

please don't mistake silence for hatred. please don't mistake unanswered plotting messages as indifference, or a lack of enthusiasm towards you. considering the ages of most roleplayers, many of us have bills to pay, families to take care of, medical conditions to treat, appointments to make, classes to take, homes to clean, and lives to live away from the computer that are far, far more important than writing on tumblr — life has a tendency to get in the way of hobbies and fun things like this. be patient with your fellow writers. if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. of course you can set your boundaries, keep your space comfortable, and softblock whoever you wish, but do so while recognizing it's probably not hatred or apathy that keeps them from leaping into your dms with message after message. they probably love this hobby just as much as you... but sometimes life gets in the way.

Some tips on how to spot scammers‼️
These scams can be under the pretext for *getting medication*/*getting a group of people to a safer location* or whatever new variations that may pop up in the future!
Not all of these are telltale signs that the person is a scammer but just some things I have seen in common
1a. Their accounts are barely a week old and has liked nothing much but posts of people answering positively to their scams sent to your inbox
1b. Only liking/reblogging posts related to the scam they're trying to sell
2. Linking a *go fund me* but it actually leads you to their paypal account under a different name
3. Lack of precise information/vagueness. Their last few lines are always along the lines of; please donate/help where possible because all they care about is money!
4. You've interacted; reblogged/liked/commented with whatever content recently so they send you their stolen paragraph from an actual person who's in need of help. eg. Charity, free Gaza
5a. Inconsistent pronouns being used eg. Sometimes using 'i' and then switching to "them" or vice versa
5b. In addition to inconsistent pronouns, there could also be randomly placed quotation or exclamation marks - meaning they copied it from someone
6. You could also try reverse google searching the images/paragraph they use by simply putting quotation mark followed by the paragraph eg. "paragraph"
7. Copying the paragraph and pasting it on Tumblr search. You'll instantly find proof by looking at others posts
8. Always check against a vetted source to know if their account is reliable
Always report scammers posts and accounts too!
As always, don't be so trusting/gullible of everything you see online! Always check its legitimacy before liking/reblogging or asking others to help them out!
Not everyone is a scammer, but it's important donations go to people who actually need it!!
Reblogs are appreciated to help spread awareness 🙏🏼 With that said, Free Palestine, Congo, Haiti, Hawai’i, Sudan
