Every time I start strong on a f@$t, after a while I get sucked in by the ~healthy lifestyle girlies~ on socials and I decide it's best to "eat intuitively" and it leads to a maintenance day, an overeat, or even a binge.
Why is everyone pretending like that's going to work for weight loss?! The formula is simple. More calories burned than ingested. This is why restr!ct!ng works. So why are we acting like "honoring our cravings" is a weight loss method?!
It's easy math and science, and that's what I need to remember.

I gained 2kg bc of my Binge yesterday..🗿 well I wasn’t able to stick to my plan with only having 200kcal bc I woke up with a fever🗿 (my mom made me eat) so now I feel really bad PLUS my period randomly said hello as well 🗿
I did a lil research tho! and I decided when my fever goes down I’m going to do water fasting 🙏🏼 I’m exited to share my results with you guys ‼️‼️

the correct way to come out of a fast 🎀
i’m not a health acc, nor am i an ed acc, but i see a lot of girlies ending their fasts wrong, and that can be super dangerous. life threatening, even. so i decided to write thus cus i have s lot of experience with fasting 🫶🏼
(if on a liquid diet, skip to step 4)
1. time
it’s a super simple process, but it’s definitely time consuming. the amount of time you were fasting is the amount of time it takes to come out of a fast. (e.g. one year i fasted for all of ramadan, even at night. i only fasted for two weeks, then slowly incorporated food back into my diet for the other two weeks)
2. liquid food
i saw someone eat an apple straight after their fast.
you cannot under any circumstances do that!!
shocking your system with food is dangerous. the first thing you should be having is a teaspoon of *blended* apple in a glass of water. (blend a peeled apple with a little bit of water to get the right consistency. do not use store bought apple juice)
it’s gross, but it’s necessary.
slowly over time, increase the ratio, until you are just drinking the blended apple. (the amount of time it takes depends on the amount of time you fasted)
3. liquid food cont.
once you start drinking just the apple, start mixing in other fresh fruits and veggies - preferably ones with a lot of nutrients. make sure it’s not too heavy.
(side note: don’t add any milk or yogurt to the smoothies nothing but plain water!)
4. food (kinda?)
you can’t eat normally just yet, just a little more to go!! there are two options of how to do this step
one is to make the smoothies chunkier, so you have something to chew
the second is cutting yourself a *tiny* piece of apple and chewing it until you physically can’t anymore.
they are pretty similar, so it’s up to you :) (make sure to chew very well for both btw, not just the second option)
as always, slowly increase the mount of solids until…
5. FOOD! (finally 😮‍💨)
congrats! you can now eat normally!! 🥳🥳🥳
it sucks that it takes so long, but i cannot stress enough how important it is! people have actually died from ending a fact wrong before. please look after your health 🤍
id you don’t like apples, or are allergic, you can substitute them for blueberries, though you’ll have to strain the skin out until you can start chewing 🤷🏼‍♀️ (if you don’t like blueberries, then use cucumbers or lettuce, idk)

Okay how does one gain 0.2kg while sleeping???? Haven't even ate anything yesterday so wtf???
I swear if it's because I drank water with my pain killers I will never ever drink it.
It also seems like my period started way early. It always fucks up everything and I looked so bloated last night I cried hard.
My boyfriend keeps telling me how I am perfect anyways etc but it doesn't feel like it because he isn't here. Even though he lives only 2 hours away I'd still prefer if he was with me physically...
I love him way too much and I constantly feel pathetic because I need him 24/7...

1. acknowledge your cravings 🥝
write down your cravings (i do it in my notes app) and promise yourself that you’ll have the food eventually (even if you won’t). imagine yourself eating the food that you’re craving in depth and make yourself think you already ate it. if you eat the food your craving, the taste will go away within 30 minutes anyways. this will cause you to still be hungry and still crave it, and it can trigger you to keep feeding your cravings.
2. combatting cravings 🦀
smelling candles or perfume really helps me personally. especially smell anything that gives you comfort when you smell it. if all else fails, i let myself smell the food i’m craving and imagine i ate it. be careful with this though, it doesn’t work for everyone and might make you hungrier. to make myself stop wanting to eat, i also look at thnspo. stay away from the kitchen/anywhere where food is!!! if you can, take a relaxing bath or shower and do some skin care/body care. this makes me feel more “clean” which makes me not want to eat.
3. staying motivated 🐚
the hardest part about following through is fighting off your brain. when i fast i always get thoughts like “you’ll just eat under 50cals, it will be fine if you just take a bite”. you have to stay strong, when you feed one craving you’ll feed the rest. it’s so much easier to not eat when you’re fasting, one bite of food will make you even hungrier. don’t torture yourself. it might sound crazy, but i imagine those thoughts as the people in my life who i envy trying to sabotage me. or just strictly tell yourself no. use anything you can to block out those thoughts. do not let yourself convince you that you need to feed into your cravings.
4. distractions 🐬
play video games, put on a tv show or movie that you can get really emotionally invested in, or set mini-projects for yourself to finish. i clean/organize specific areas and it makes me feel clean which also stops me from being hungry, but when i’m feeling really low energy i love sketching out room designs for myself <3. i recommend doing something hands-on that can replace eating.
5. comfort 🥥
when you’re taking away a common main source of comfort (eating), you have to find other ways to make that up or you’ll feel miserable. use a heating pad on your stomach (you can fill a sock up with rice and put it in the microwave next to a cup of water to make a heating pad if you don’t have one) and cover up with soft blankets. you can also put your blankets in the dryer. i sometimes heat up water and drink hot water with lemon, this can really help if you’re craving warm food. infused water is also really good and it helps me drink more water. most of the time I slice up cucumber and lime and put that in my water, but here are some other good combinations: lemon and mint leaves, strawberries, lemon and lime, & cucumber and mint leaves.
6. nourishment 🌸
make sure you still get nourishment during fasting!! i take: ashwagandha, magnesium, b-12, vitamin a + b + c (and sometimes e), and cranberry pills. i heavily recommend magnesium, b-12, and vitamin c, but do your own research and find what works best for you <3
