Novelember, Day 30:
The goal for the last day was to come up with a plan for Novelember 2: December Boogaloo. However… I have forty chapters that are in progress. There’s not really anything meaningful that I can do to move the needle on those babies in a month. SO, I took today to come up with a plan, and it’s this: Have these done by the end of 2025 (I’m crying). In planning terms, that means roughly focusing on a chapter a week, which will leave twelve weeks for editing — which is generous.
For planning purposes, the writing portion of The Completion Year will start Sunday December 29th 2024, and end Saturday October 4th 2025. The editing portion will run October 5th through the end of 2025 .
Pros: Chapters are already in progress, and I know where I want to go with each one. Plenty of notes and ideas have been recorded for each. Some won't take as long as others, yay.
Overall, another very successful Novelember!

Progress Report - 12/25/24
Hello and happy holidays!
It’s been a while, huh? 😅 my apologies for disappearing on you all. Long story short, I had a severe case of tendonitis in my shoulder, and have spent the last few months heavily restricted in my ability to type or do pretty much anything on the computer. And since I’m left-handed, and it was my left shoulder, writing the old fashioned way wasn’t much of an option either. It’s been absolute hell for me, to put it lightly.
I’ve finally recovered enough to be able to get back to work… slowly. More slowly than I’d like, honestly, but it is what it is. I’m trying my best not to overdo it and set my healing back. It’s easier said than done.
Besides the speed, however, work is actually going really well! Well enough that I have the next update very nearly ready to go. I have a really bad, game-breaking bug lurking somewhere in my code that I’m trying to unravel, but once I’ve found and squashed it, I’ll be able to roll the update out to patreon 😁
Beyond that, I also have a couple mini-stories planned (akin to the Spooktacular from a couple years back), the first of which is written and mostly-coded. I wanted to have it ready earlier this month, but again, work is slower than I want it to be. In addition, I want to roll out an updated version of the Idle Hands prologue/demo to my lovely and infinitely patient patrons, and I really hope to finally, finally release the first episode of Partially Stars.
Most of all, I hope to start being more active again on tumblr and to stop disappearing for months at a time. That’s my number 1 goal for 2025.
So that’s everything I’ve got for y’all for now! I’m gonna go back to fumigating my code so I can kill this bug, and with luck I’ll have something fun for you all very soon.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, happy Wednesday to those who don’t, and a Happy New Year to everyone. Enjoy the liminal week remaining until 2025, I love you all, and thank you as always for reading 💙💙💙
#speaker game#progress update#words can't express how happy I am to be on a computer again#turns out: all my interests and hobbies involve the use of my left shoulder! who knew

Ring In the New Year— Rafe Cameron x Pogue!Reader

summary— On New Year’s Eve, you join Rafe at a country club party, your first time celebrating with the Kooks. You share your first New Years kiss at midnight, followed by starting the New Year together in a way only Rafe could make unforgettable.
warnings— smoking, drinking, slight voyeurism, cross faded quickie, praise kink, unprotected sex, choking, creampie.
a/n— happy new year everyone, may 2025 bring us all happiness and we achieve all our goals <3
The country club was everything you expected and more, live jazz music, and perfectly dressed Kooks everywhere. It was your first New Year’s Eve on this side of the Outer Banks, and you couldn't help but feel like you were stepping into another world.
You glanced at Rafe from behind your little camera, snapping a candid shot of him sipping champagne. He caught you in the act, smirking as he sauntered over.
“Are you documenting how good I look tonight, or just making sure you never forget this moment?” he teased, sliding his arms around your waist from behind.
“Maybe both,” you replied, leaning back into him. “You clean up nice, Rafe Cameron.”
He chuckled, his lips brushing the shell of your ear. “Good, because I’ve got plans for you tonight.”
You rolled your eyes playfully, turning your head to meet his gaze. “Oh yeah? Like what?”
He leaned in close, his voice a low murmur only you could hear. “Get high, then take you somewhere private and ruin that cute little outfit.”
Your cheeks heated, but you kept your cool, swatting his arm lightly. “Only weed, no coke, Rafe. And let’s enjoy the night firs.. You’ll get your New Year’s—wish,” you teased, “but I’m getting my New Year’s kiss first.”
He grinned, pressing a quick kiss to your neck before pulling back. “Deal. But don’t make me wait too long, baby.”
The night was filled with laughter, Rafe’s touches, and bubbly drinks. After a bit of coaxing, Rafe led you out onto the terrace, where you shared a joint under the stars. The cool winter air mixed with the warmth of the champagne buzz as you both leaned against the railing.
“You’re such a bad influence, you know that?” you teased, exhaling a soft cloud of smoke.
He smirked, brushing a curl from your face. “And you love it.”
As the countdown to midnight began, Rafe pulled you into his arms, the world around you fading as the room erupted with excitement.
“Ten, nine,eight—”
His hands settled on your waist, his forehead resting against yours.
“Seven, six, five—”
“Ready for your kiss, Pogue?” he murmured, his lips just a breath away from yours.
“Four, three, two—”
The room erupted into cheers, fireworks bursting outside the windows, but all you could feel was Rafe’s lips on yours. The kiss was electric, soft yet demanding, like he’d been waiting all night to taste you.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and dazed, he smirked, his hands tightening on your waist. “Got what you wanted, huh?”
You grinned, giggling as he pressed another quick kiss to your lips. “Yeah. Best New Year’s kiss ever.”
“Good,” he murmured, taking your hand and tugging you toward the hallway. “Now it’s my turn.”
Your laughter bubbled up as he found an empty room, locking the door behind you. “Rafe, we’re at a country club,” you whispered, giggling as he pinned you lightly against the wall, his blue eyes gleaming with mischief.
“And?” he countered, his lips brushing yours. “New Year, new rules. Starting with you, baby.”
The room was quiet, except for the rapid thud of your heart in your chest. Rafe was close, his hands grabbing your ass, lips grazing the sensitive skin of your neck as you both struggled to catch your breath.
“You sure you want this, baby?” Rafe’s voice was rough and enough to make you shiver. His hand rested on your waist, fingers tightening just enough to make you shiver.
You nodded, lips brushing against his in a barely-there kiss. “More than anything,” you breathed out.
With that, Rafe was on you, pushing you back against the cool wood of the door, his body pressing you into the surface. His lips found yours again, more urgent this time, as his hands worked quickly, pulling your dress up, fingers tracing the lines of your skin like he couldn’t get enough.
“You drive me crazy, you know that?” His words were broken between kisses. “The way you look at me, the way you feel.”
You tugged at his shirt, eager to feel the heat of his skin. “I need you, Rafe.”
He growled softly, taking your hand and guiding it down to his waistband and pulling down it and his boxers in one go, a knowing smirk tugging at his lips as he watched you. “You’ve got me, baby. Let’s make this count.”
His lips crashed back onto yours, and the world outside of that room ceased to exist. He hooked his finger under your thong, shifting it and lining his large, hard cock against your entrance. He was so hard, so hard that you could feel him throbbing against you. He slipped inside your wet pussy and began to move, hands and cock in a perfect rhythm, fast, heated, like every second was precious. His breath was hot against your skin, his voice soft but commanding as he whispered encouragements, his eyes never leaving yours.
“You’re so perfect,” he muttered. “So fucking perfect. You feel so good, baby.”
He kissed you harder, his hand slipping up to your throat, gently wrapping around it as he kissed away the soft moans escaping your lips. His thumb grazed your skin, the pressure just enough to make everything feel even more intense. You gasped, but his kiss swallowed the sound, his other hand sliding between your bodies on your clit, quick and decisive.
Every second felt like it was stretched out, the air thick with lust and passion. He kissed you once more, biting your plump bottom lip as he did like a man starved. Your hands roamed his back then up to his head, running your fingers through the little hair he had as he fucked you against the door. The whole party was oblivious and knowing anyone could pass by and hear you turned Rafe on more than you could imagine.
His fingers rubbing your clit coupled with his large hand wrapped around your neck would not allow you to last much longer. Your pussy tightened around his cock earning a low moan that you swallowed in a messy kiss.
“Fuck, baby, I can feel how close you are, cum with me, cum all over my cock,” he growled.
Then it was over as quickly as it had begun. Your jaws fell agape, soft moans leaving your lips as you stared into each other’s eyes. A soul crashing orgasm took ahold of you, your pussy drenching his thick cock buried deep inside you as his cum shot into your womb.
“Yes, yes, yes!” you mewled, your whole body shaking.
Breathing heavily, Rafe pulled out, his forehead against yours. “Best way to start the New Year,” he murmured, a smug smile spreading across his face.
You laughed softly, still reeling from the rush. “Best New Year’s I’ve had.”
Rafe chuckled, his hands gently smoothing down your dress, fixing the mess you’d both made. “You’re mine now, you know that?”
You smiled, biting your lip. “I thought I already was.”

Winter Warning
Summary: When a severe storm rolls around during the holidays, you’re hesitant to let your girlfriend go off on a mission. With New Years right around the corner, you don’t know if she’ll be back in time to celebrate one of the holidays you find most important. Natasha Romanoff x Reader (brief Steve appearance) WC: 1,390 Warnings/Themes: Fluff, slight angst A/N: Happy new year!! I wish you all the best in 2025 <3
The flurries of white nearly covered your entire view out of the New York apartment. Blankets of snow were falling onto the icy city streets that were now empty due to incoming weather warnings. One of the few times of the year where the bustling city noise suddenly disappeared. Out of all the reasons you and Natasha picked this apartment, the view was the most enticing one. A window overlooking the city that gave the cozy apartment a peek into the busy outer world, while still offering shield to the hustle and bustle. You also assumed the wide overlook gave Natasha a chance to keep an eye on things, but she’d never admit that.
Natasha, your girlfriend, was still hard at work as an Avenger. Crumbling cities and alien attacks didn’t just pause for the holidays—no matter how much you hoped they would. December passed in a blur of holiday cheer, each day filled with something fun and special as the two of you created new holiday memories. From picking out ornaments together, to baking new recipes, it was all you could ever hope for.
But the second each present was opened and the entire panettone was finished, Natasha was asked to join a last minute mission. Knowing the way her job worked, it was less of a request and more of a demand—but everyone was still in the lenient holiday mood. Natasha wasn’t one to argue, so off she went packing a duffel for what was supposed to be a couple days away from home.
It had only been a few months of the apartment being called home. Natasha was hesitant to use that word at first, especially when most of her life was stuck in various places across the globe. Once all her possessions were under one roof, it gave both of you some peace of mind. You were relieved to see her settling into this new space, and she was happy you were happy.
You were disappointed when hearing she had to leave home for a few days, but ultimately understood. After giving her a reluctant kiss goodbye, the clock for her return started ticking. Little did you know, she’d be gone more than just a few days. A tricky mission paired with severe snowstorm warnings threatened the next few weeks; you didn’t even consider what that meant until her car was long gone. You would be alone for New Years.
Maybe it was selfish to worry about being alone for a holiday that only celebrates the changing of a calendar, but Natasha knew how important New Years was for you. When she first met you, your warm personality was covered by the cold front you were forced to put up. An enemy agent only working under duress of the higher ups left you to follow tasks in fear of the consequences. But Natasha was intelligent, and knew how to break you down in order to complete her mission. What neither of you could’ve expected was the fearing girl you were underneath it all.
After all that happened, Natasha couldn’t help but take you under her wing. You were ready to change your ways, and staying with the kind redhead was far more appealing than a criminal organization. Besides, it’s not like any of them would dare to challenge Natasha when she stole you for herself. The rest was history; you both found solace in each other’s presence, filling in each other’s mission pieces.
The passing of time allowed you an opportunity to change as a person, to grow and move beyond your past criminal ways. The New Year was an important landmark as it meant you were not only another year forward from your rough past, but given yet another chance to start cleaner than before. Natasha understood this more than you knew, and made it a goal to support you in the face of a fresh start. Though this winter storm posed risk for Natasha’s presence at New Years.
A few other members of the team were still in New York, having been lucky enough to escape the fate of getting selected for the mission. Maybe they knew just how anxious you’d be, because five days after Natasha left, an Avenger appeared right on cue with a knock on your door. You stood from your cozy spot on the couch, looking through the peep hole to find a disheveled looking Steve in the hallway.
“Did you fall into an icy lake before coming up here?” You questioned as he shed his damp winter coat. He was carrying a few bags of groceries, some of your favorite snacks sitting on top. Natasha definitely texted him.
“There’s been three inches of snowfall in the last few hours. I think the universe is trying to bury us in snow.” Steve laughed, hanging his coat up by the door. He easily took notice of the nest you crafted on the couch, nearly every blanket in the house somehow piled around a you-shaped hole in the center. His silence told you he was worried—after all, he knew about the importance of the New Year for you.
“Any word on Natasha?” Although you had texted her every day, her responses only included so many details. Sometimes Nat herself didn’t even know when she’d be returning. Steve likely came from the compound, there was always a chance he knew more than you did.
But he shook his head, making you exhale disappointedly. “Nothing yet.” Steve shot you a sympathetic smile.
“Well, thanks for the groceries anyways.” You shrugged, eyeing the bags full of treats you would rather share with Natasha than enjoy on your own.
“Anytime,” Steve nodded, grabbing his now slightly less damp coat. “Call me if you need anything, okay?” You only nodded silently in response, watching as he left. Then you were alone, just like before. The truth was, you wouldn’t call anyone if you needed anything. The only person you wanted to call was Natasha, and she wasn’t available. So the only remaining option is to isolate yourself. Nat knew that was what you would resort to, which is why she likely asked Steve to stop by with something to cheer you up. A sweet gesture, but you wished it made you even the slightest bit better. Nothing could compare to the presence of Natasha.
—————
Fast asleep on the couch, tangled between five blankets all covering the worn cushions; the fire stoked and raging, offering even more warmth in contrast to the icy layer of blue just outside the window. You had stayed up for hours, just in case Nat came home in time for the New Year only a few hours away—but with your lack of sleep from previous nights spent awake, you didn’t stand a chance. By 9:00pm, you were out cold. Not even the lock clicking on the front door caused you to stir.
An exhausted redhead walked in, duffel bag landing softly on the table beside the raided bags of groceries you were too tired to put away. She smiled at the various open snacks, but nothing could compare to the grin spread across her face when she noticed you on the couch. All bundled up, your worried expression fallen in your sleeping state—yet Natasha didn’t have to see you in person to know how worried you were.
She pushed a few blankets aside, sitting next to you as she admired the peaceful apartment she was lucky enough to return to. Softly brushing stray hair out of your face, she hoped it would cause you to stir. “Hi my love.” You opened your eyes to red hair illuminated by the firelight. She looked ethereal, almost unreal. More than anything, you were grateful to see her.
“You’re back,” You exclaimed tiredly, hands softly attempting to pull her close. She nods with a chuckle, lying down behind you so she can wrap her arms around you fully. “Happy new year.” You spoke softly.
“Happy new year.” She whispered back into your ear. In the solace of each other’s arms, you both knew this year would be even better than the last. With each fresh start, you would always be beside Natasha. No matter how much you grew or who you became, the two of you would face it all together.

A.B. Stoddard at The Bulwark:
1. Trump’s Not Taking the L. . .
The last two weeks—the unveiling of the Harris-Walz ticket, and Kamala Harris’s surge in the polls—feels like some surreal dream state. Everything has changed. Have you noticed Harris has pushed Donald Trump right out of the comfy lead he’s held for an entire year? He’s noticed. From FiveThirtyEight to RealClearPolitics—pick your polling average—they all now show Harris out in front after only two and a half weeks.
Trump is no longer on track to win the election—which he has been for more than six straight months. Instead, the momentum, money, voter registration, volunteering, grassroots organizing, polling, and online engagement all favor the Democrats and it looks now like Trump could easily lose. But that won’t happen, because Trump doesn’t lose. He beat Joe Biden in 2020—remember? So if he’s not the rightful victor on November 5, an entire army of Republicans is ready to block certification of the election at the local level. No need to worry about mayhem on January 6, 2025 when Congress meets in joint session; the election deniers plan to stop a result right away if it looks like Harris is winning. Their goal: Refuse to certify anywhere—even a county that Trump won—and prevent certification in that state, which prevents certification of the presidential election. A Harris victory could become a nightmare.
An investigation by Rolling Stone identified “in the swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania . . . at least 70 pro-Trump election conspiracists currently working as county election officials who have questioned the validity of elections or delayed or refused to certify results.” Of those 70, 22 of them already have “refused or delayed certification” in recent past elections. Nationwide, Republicans have refused to certify results at least 25 times since 2020, in eight states—the most in Georgia.
The article describes social media posts from the zealots who have infiltrated election administration as showing “unapologetic belief in Trump’s election lies, support for political violence, themes of Christian nationalism, and controversial race-based views.” There are more than enough such individuals in these key posts to bring us to a constitutional crisis. “I think we are going to see mass refusals to certify the election” in November, Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias told Rolling Stone. “Everything we are seeing about this election is that the other side is more organized, more ruthless, and more prepared.” Sit with that.
Then there is this. Trump’s self-destructive attacks on Georgia’s popular governor made the headlines from his Atlanta rally last Saturday, but he also singled out for praise three little-known Georgians—Janice Johnston, Rick Jeffares, and Janelle King—calling them “pitbulls fighting for honesty, transparency, and victory.” Who are Johnston, Jeffares, and King? They are three of the five members of Georgia’s State Election Board. Three days after Trump’s speech, this past Tuesday, those three Republicans approved a new rule requiring a “reasonable inquiry” prior to election certification that—while vague and undefined—could be exploited to delay certification and threaten the statewide election certification deadline of November 22.
The law in Georgia, where Trump and fourteen1 others are charged with plotting to overturn the 2020 election result, requires county election boards to certify results “not later than 5:00 P.M. on the Monday following the date on which such election was held”—so this year, by the evening of November 11. The secretary of state is then to certify the statewide results “not later than 5:00 P.M. on the seventeenth day” after the election, so November 22.
Across the country, the November election results will have to be certified in more than 3,000 counties, and all state results must be final by the time electors meet in each state on December 17. Members of county election boards are not tasked with resolving election issues; certification is mandatory and “ministerial,” not discretionary. Disputes over ballot issues are separate from the certification process—investigated and adjudicated by district attorneys, state election boards, and in court. Election experts say the new rule could disrupt the entire process across the state by allowing local partisans to reject results. And Georgia appears to be at the center of Trump’s plans. Casting doubt on Fulton County, which makes up the bulk of Democratic votes in the state, will help him claim he won the Peach State as the rest of the results come in red.
But even without an explicitly permitted “inquiry” like the new Georgia rule provides, Republicans in other swing states still plan on acting at the county level to slow or stop certification. Because questioning the outcome at the very start of the process will create delay. Any doubt and confusion, and perhaps even violence, makes it easier to miss essential deadlines and can threaten the chance that the rightful winner prevails. Election deniers also hope that sowing chaos might prompt GOP legislatures to intervene—in Georgia, Arizona, or Wisconsin for example—a dangerous scenario I wrote about in April.
[...] It’s crucial that these plans are widely publicized. And they can be. Just like Project 2025, which was virtually unheard of and is now in the forefront of the political debate. Putting a media spotlight on this issue will force Republican officials to address what they are well aware of and are refusing to call out. Yesterday CBS News reported Biden said in his first interview since leaving the presidential race he is “not confident at all” there will be a peaceful transfer of power if Trump loses. Harris isn’t likely to talk about this in her campaign, so it’s critical that other high-profile surrogates do. President Obama, President Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and others must educate voters about the plot underway to force more public pressure and accountability on the process. Every Republican must be asked about local certification of elections, electors honoring the popular vote of their state, preventing political violenceall of it. Repeatedly. As Elias told an interviewer, there are things we can do, as citizens willing to invest some time, to take action. This isn’t a threat from abroad. This year—and likely for years to come—we will all have to continue to fight against what our fellow Americans are doing to subvert elections. Because without free elections—and facts and truth—we cannot be a free country.
A.B. Stoddard wrote in The Bulwark that Republicans will seek to cause chaos post-election to try to block certification of a potential Kamala Harris win.

Plans for the immediate future of A.N.I.M. as of February 26th, 2025:
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy
Work on editing and polishing Eureka is continuing at a steady pace and in fact finally picking up speed again after a bunch of hiccups in development. The fact that it is being played by a bunch of people in the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club right now has given us a lot of very useful playtest data that has been super helpful in polishing the rulebook.
Another beta build of the game will release on itchio on February 27th, 2025 with the last little bits of the module writing guide finally completed, just in time for submissions to open on the module writing game jam.
The Eureka Mystery Module Game Jam opens up submissions on March 1st, 2025, but the submissions don't close until April 1st, 2025, so there is still plenty of time.
Silk & Dagger: A Sensible Drow RPG
I have been busting my butt getting Silk & Dagger ready for alpha release on March 10th, 2025. It is not currently available to the public, but you can get it by signing up to our patreon. Normally I would not want to release a game publicly like this while it’s still in an alpha state, but our financial situation is such that we cannot really afford to keep it patreon exclusive any longer. We do better than most, but TTRPG game development does not make a lot of money.
Since Silk & Dagger will be releasing in alpha, not beta, it won’t be as polished, or even as finished, as Eureka for some time. The game is functional enough that it can be played, and is very fun and funny, but it has only been playtested like once and a good number of features have not even been written in yet. It is very much a work-in-progress/proof-of-concept, so do not set your expectations too high.
We will be holding more playtests on our official patreon-exclusive discord server soon as well.
After we release the Silk & Dagger alpha on March 10th, I will be shifting focus off of Silk & Dagger to work on A.N.I.M.’s third game, Death Bed, while I collect feedback on Silk & Dagger and apply it as needed. Patreon subscribers will get these improved versions monthly, while with the public alpha you will probably have to wait many months as I turn Death Bed from a bunch of scattered notes to a playable alpha version.
Once Death Bed is publicly released in alpha, my main focus will shift back to Silk & Dagger with the goal of implementing the rest of the feedback and bringing it from alpha state to beta state, while I wait for Death Bed feedback to roll in.
Death Bed: A Souls-like RPG
Death Bed is our attempt to actually bring Dark Souls-like feel and gameplay to the TTRPG medium, where so many others have failed before us.
You will start to see early pre-alpha versions of this game on our patreon as soon as April.

debut

April 1, 2025
Mary looked at Ryan before they stepped into the arena, today was their first NHL game. They had practice with the team this morning and was confirmed they were both playing tonight.
They had met the team last night all getting along great and Ryan and Mary showed most of the team around BC and they ended up going out with the team after they showed them around.
Ryan gave her a soft nod in response and they shared a small private smile. He was wearing a pink suit and a light purple tie for their debut, which Mary absolutely loved.
Mary had an all purple suit on with a black shirt underneath and matching black loafers. She had her hair down tucked behind her ears holding her iced coffee.
Mary and Ryan walked in side by side and all the walk in phones for their debut they were together.
“Ah the Kids!“ Ovi called out joyfully as he saw the two walk into the locker room together, he walked over to them and tossed an arm over both of their shoulder and started to talk to them.
Mary and Ryan shared a look as Ovi spoke, they both thought they were gonna fit in just fine with this team and they were excited for this next step in their lives and getting to do it together.
Mary sat in her stall that was luckily right next to Ryan’s and her eyes were closed focusing on the music coming through her headphones.
Ryan glanced over at her every few minutes knowing she is fine but he can’t help but check on her.
Mary pulled her hair into her bubble braids making Ryan smirk a bit and he tugged softly at the end of one of the braids making Mary give Ryan and in reply he flashed her an innocent smile. She tucked her necklace under her compression shirt before putting on the rest of her equipment.
Mary had a small smile waiting in the tunnel before warms up, the Capitals are a loud team that seemed to constantly be hyping each other up and Mary might not love how long the team she loves how close the team is and how everyone has been so kind to her and also Ryan too.
“Ready Kid?” Dylan gave her a little gently nudge with his elbow and she glanced at him feeling the most comfortable with Dylan so far maybe it’s something to do with the fact Dylan is a girl Dad and the best one around girls on the team.
Mary nodded with a small grin and she glanced in front of her where Ryan was standing seeing his tells and could tell he was a bit nervous but so was she.
Mary gave him e a soft comforting smile and Ryan took a deep breath in and let out the breath slowly rolling out his shoulders.
Mary laughed a bit how loud the team started to cheer and they all patted Ryan and Mary as they walked down the tunnel.
Mary and Ryan get to have their NHL debut at home and together, it was the most perfect way to play their first ever NHL game.
Ryan patted her back like he always does and she stepped onto the ice first with Ryan right behind her.
Mary passed him the puck and Ryan hit the puck into the goal, they both laughed seeing all of their friends and teammates at the glass cheering loudly.
Mary’s face softened seeing Gabe, he wasn’t supposed to be here, he was supposed to be on a flight to New York right now.
Mary blew a kiss to her best friends and threw a puck over to Hutson who gave her a sweet smile as Ryan tossed a puck over that Fowler got and kissed it.
Mary saw her family and Ryan’s family all together a few sections down and she ignored the missing person in her family, the person who didn’t even send her a text for her first game but what did she expect she hasn’t gotten a text from him since he found out.
Mary and Ryan shared an excited smile as they finished their rookie lap together.
Mary and Ryan got to start the game being on a line together with Dylan. Their coach knew the smartest idea was keeping the two on a line as they play great together and could adapt together.
Dylan patted Mary and Ryan’s head as he skated by to his spot.
Mary watched the puck drop and she was now officially in the NHL.
She immediately could tell how much harder the NHL was from NCCA hockey and really any hockey she has played before but she liked it being difficult meaning she has so much to still learn.
It was in the third period when the game was tied 2-2, Dylan got the puck and he passed to Ryan. Ryan was in the center of the ice and he didn’t need to look up as he passed to his right, the top of the ice where Mary was waiting.
Mary had the puck for a second before she flicked the puck into the net and she slowly began to smile as the crowd went crazy realizing she just got her first ever NHL goal off Ryan’s first NHL assist.
Mary laughed giddy as Ryan screamed pointing at her with his own beaming, Mary and Ryan crashed into hugging each other so tightly with beaming smiles looking absolutely ecstatic.
“You did it!” Ryan cheered in she good ear sounding so incredibly proud.
“We did it!” Mary cheered back quieter than Ryan.
Dylan got to them first and hugged both of his new rookies as they just looked at him with beaming smiles.
Mary got her first goal in her hometown arena and it was the game winning goal.
Washington won 4-2.
Mary and Ryan were handed the puck from their goal and assist after the game, “You take it.” Ryan gave her a look handing her the puck.
“Deal but you get my first assist one then.” Mary said with a happy smile expecting that his first goal she will get an assist on.
Ryan softly laughed and nodded in agreement.
Mary and Ryan both went through media and packed up their stalls as the team was heading straight to Carolina.
Mary and Ryan headed out of the locker room having a couple minutes to see everyone who was there for them.
Gabe reached them first pulling them in a group hug.
“I thought you were in New York?” Mary whispered in the hug.
Gabe pulled back giving them both a look, “And miss your guys Debut? Never.” Gabe was not missing their first game especially with Will being an idiot still and not even texting them before the game.
Mary squeezed Gabe’s hand softly in reply.
Once Gabe stepped back Grace quickly hugged Mary as Ryan’s sisters hugged him.
“You did it.” Grace mumbled proudly against her hair.
“Thank you for being here.” Mary mumbled softly back.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Grace whispered back.
Grace let her go and switched with Ryan’s sisters hugging Ryan next as Ryan’s sisters hugged Mary next.
Mary was hugged by her parents next, who were both noticing something off with Will and Mary but didn’t know what it was, they knew it was something Will did as Grace seemed very annoyed at Will. They knew they needed to ask Grace and she would explain everything.
Mary smiled seeing her four best friends and pulled them all into a group, “I’m gonna miss you all.” Mary’s voice cracked, she’s grown used to only being a few minutes away from all them.
“We will miss you too.” Teddy said softly.
“So much.” Cole added with a sad but happy frown because he is happy for Mary but he sad to see her go.
Hutson knew he had at least one more season but at least the knew one day he will be playing with Mary and Ryan again.
James just hide his face in Mary’s hair, “I’ll miss you, you’re gonna be great Mars and i’ll see you soon.” James whispered to her making her blink back tears.
Mary gave her best friends a watery smile as they stepped back from the hug.
Once Mary and Ryan said hi and bye to everyone they started walking away.
Ryan grabbed her hand softly as they walked through the hallway alone, “Ready for this?”
Their lives are only gonna change more from this point.
“Yeah because i’ve got you with me.” Mary said sweetly making him smile softly at her.
Ryan stopped her and kissed her forehead closing his eyes talking a moment with her and he opened his eyes looking at her and she gave him a nod.
They were heading into the their next chapter in life, together.

Become Your Best Version Before 2025 - Day 26
Personal Development Tools and Resources
Yesterday we talked about creating accountability plans, and today I want to build on that momentum by sharing some amazing tools and resources that have genuinely transformed my personal growth journey.
Think about the last time you scrolled through your phone, looking at all those self-improvement apps you downloaded but never really used. We've all been there! Today, I want to share what's actually worked for me.
The Simple Tools That Work Wonders
First up, journaling! But wait, before you roll your eyes, hear me out. I'm not talking about writing novels every morning. Sometimes it's just a quick brain dump while having coffee, or a few grateful thoughts before bed. (Quick tip: if you're new to journaling and self-reflection, you might want to check out my free Self-Worth Mini Workbook, it's got some really gentle prompts to get you started!)
Digital tools have been game-changers too. I absolutely love:
Notion for organizing my entire life (seriously, it's like having a second brain)
Insight Timer for meditation (the free version is amazing!)
Goodnotes for digital journaling.
Creating Your Sacred Space
Something that's really helped me is creating a dedicated space for personal development. It doesn't have to be fancy, mine's just a cozy corner with:
A comfortable cushion
My favorite journal and pens
A small plant (because why not?)
A few inspiring books
Speaking of books, these have been life-changing:
"Atomic Habits" by James Clear
"The Mountain Is You" by Brianna Wiest
"You Are a Badass" by Jen Sincero
View the full list here
Making It Work For You
The key is finding what naturally fits into your life. Maybe you:
Start with just 5 minutes of morning reflection
Use your commute time for personal development podcasts
Set up a simple evening routine for goal review
(By the way, if you're ready to dive deeper into creating sustainable personal growth practices, my Inner Glow Bundle has some amazing tools for this, but let's focus on getting those basics down first!)
The Power of Community
Never underestimate the power of connecting with others on the same journey. Some great ways to do this:
Join online communities (like this one!)
Find an accountability partner
Share your journey on social media
Participate in group challenges
Remember This, the most powerful tools are often the simplest ones. Don't get caught up in thinking you need the fanciest apps or most expensive programs. Start with what you have, where you are.
What's one tool or practice you're excited to try? Let me know in the comments below! I love hearing about your journeys and learning from your experiences too!
See you tomorrow for Day 27!

Yuu - The Brother
Prompts: @domaystic 2025 Challenge/@thedrabblecollective May drabble challenge: Day 20 It's full all ready & Liability Rating: T Pairing: Leona/Yuu Notes: I found too many challenges for May I wanted to join, so I'm combining Domaystic and Drabble Challenge prompts. This will be a multi-part AU with each part being a 100 word drabble. My only end goal for this is 31 days of Leona/Yuu fluff. [Part 19] - [Part 21] Masterlists for my other fics
“I began to fear the worst when you did not return home.”
Yuu rolled her eyes at Malleus’s pout. “I sent you a letter saying I would return later than planned.”
Lilia snickered. “I told him newlyweds required time to themselves, but he wouldn’t listen.”
Yuu’s stomach did a tiny flip. Leona’s hand circled her elbow again, pulling her back into the carriage. “You’ve seen her. Now go away.”
Malleus’s boot stopped the carriage door from closing. “I will join you.”
Leona shoved Malleus’s foot out of the way. “The carriage is already full. We’re not liable for more passengers.”

My first book of 2025! 🥳
Just For the Summer by Abby Jimenez
Sometimes the best way to show love or be kind to someone is to meet them where they are.”
I'd seen people raving about this one everywhere, and the kindle edition went on sale for $4.99, so I bought it. I found out almost immediately after that, that it's third in a series (oops!) but oh well.
A friend told me it shouldn't matter that much, and it didn't, but there were times where little call backs were obviously being made, but I didn't have the context to understand them. It wasn't a big deal, but if that would impact your reading experience, maybe read the first couple 😂
I liked all the main characters well enough, they all had completely normal names, which was nice (lol) and I'll say I enjoyed the book, though I'm not sure I think it was as amazing as other people have said, but it's well-known around these parts that I'm picky, so that probably won't come as a surprise.
Personally, I'm just not sure contemporary is really for me because I do find it a little boring.
One thing that really bugged me was that it's first-person past-tense, which just made my brain freak out for at least the first half of the book. It might be because I write in first-person present, or it might be that it is weird, I don't know, but for me, first-person past feels like you're telling me what happened to you all those years ago, and it just sucks the heart right out of it in some respects, generally. If I'm not experiencing it with you, what's the point of writing in first?
Apart from that, I also found some of the writing to be quite choppy, which...I know I write quite long-winded sentences so again, maybe it's just me, but this felt jarring sometimes. Eg:
I turned to look at her. “You could make one that does. You could always stay.” I couldn’t read the smile she gave me. I wished I could. I could ask her what she was thinking. She’d have to tell me.
and
Emma looked over at me and smiled, and I let myself hope. “You ready to go?” I asked. She shoved off the railing and we left.
Like???
But despite that, it was enjoyable, and at times there were some real gems that shone through and made me feel.
It was easier to pretend to be angry and tough than to admit to being devastated and heartbroken. And by the practiced way she wielded attitude, she’d been devastated and heartbroken for a long time.
“It’s like there’s a part of me that’s always small,” I whispered. “And I don’t know why and I don’t know what to do about it.”
“You’re not asking too much,” he said. “You were just asking the wrong person.
Maybe it's just that I'd been writing beforehand, or maybe I'm just always thinking about her, but some of these are so Remi it hurts. I often have a gripe to pick with contemporary romances that bring in trauma in such a blatant way because they never explore it properly.
There was a lot going on in this book, and as expected, they never fully explore the scope of that trauma. They do the classic FMC is struggling with this mental illness and you can see it, but she won't realise it, she does, (sort of) third act breakup, oh look, timeskip, she's gone to therapy off screen for a few months and is magically better, happily ever after.
I think it's nice for it to be included as representation to an extent, I definitely think it did well within the scope of the word count to address it, but I also wonder if we needed to throw so many different things into the one novel, given the word count. I don't know, maybe it will settle better in hindsight and I shouldn't be writing this impression so soon after finishing, maybe I'm just not experienced in what most contemporary romances are like and I'll be pining for this representation later—I don't know.
I guess I'll find out, since reading more contemporary is one of my goals for the year. For now, I'll leave it with this 🥺
“Unhealed trauma is a crack. And all the little hard things that trickle into it that would have rolled off someone else, settle. Then when life gets cold, that crack gets bigger, longer, deeper. It makes new breaks. You don’t know how broken she was or what she was trying to do to fill those cracks. Being broken is not an excuse for bad behaviour, you still have to make good choices and do the right thing. But it can be the reason. And sometimes understanding the reason can be what helps you heal.”
And this:
But if you don’t think your life would be better without them in it, then accept that they have cracks. Try to understand how they got them and help fill them with something that isn’t ice.”
Let me know what you thought if you've read it! 🖤

Project 2025 is a plan to, in the words of project Director Paul Dans, "...march into office and bring a new army of aligned, trained, and essentially weaponized conservatives ready to do battle against the Deep State".It is organized by the Heritage Foundation, to "muzzle woke propaganda at every level of government", "gut the administrative state" (HUD, FEMA, DOJ, DHS, the Federal Reserve, CDC, FDA, EPA, etc.) and concentrate power into the hands of the President (Leeja Miller, in a video that is linked below, goes into detail on how this would work).Their claim is that "Only through the implementation of specific action plans at each agency will the next conservative presidential Administration be successful".The plan includes a [180 Day Playbook](https://www.project2025.org/playbook/), described as "...a comprehensive, concrete transition plan for each federal agency."
The plan is "the conservative movement's unified effort to be ready for the next conservative administration to govern at 12:00 noon, January 20, 2025".Project 2025 promises to "rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left" and to "unite the conservative movement and the American people against elite rule and woke culture warriors".Project 2025 lists problems with America such as:* The breakdown of the family* Immigration* The "totalitarian cult known today as The Great Awokening"* The erosion of constitutional accountability in Washington* Children suffering the "toxic normalization of transgenderism with drag queens and pornography invading their school libraries"* An "overseas, totalitarian Communist dictatorship" that is "not a strategic partner or fair competitor" and is "engaged in a strategic, cultural and economic Cold War against America's interests, values and people"* "Low-income communities" that are "drowning in addiction and government dependence"* "America's elites have betrayed the American People"* The left using climate change "to scare the American public into accepting their ineffective, liberty crushing regulations"They believe that "These are problems not of technocratic efficiency, but of national sovereignty and constitutional governance. We solve them not by trimming and reshaping the leaves, but by ripping out the trees -- root and branch."
Their broad goals are to:1. Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life, and protect our children2. Dismantle the administrative state and return self-governance to the American people3. Defend our nation's sovereignty, borders and bounty against global threats4. Secure our God-given individual rights to live freely - what our constitution calls "the Blessings of Liberty"Dans states that "The long march of Cultural Marxism through our institutions has come to pass. The federal government is a behemoth, weaponized against American citizens and conservative values, with freedom and liberty under siege as never before".Project 2025 is, in my words, a distinctly terrifying and highly detailed roadmap for:* Installing a Chriso-fascist oligarchy* Rolling back civil and human rights* Removing bodily autonomy from women and transgender individuals* The systematic eradication of minorities and other vulnerable groupsI don't use the words "systematic eradication" lightly or with hyperbole.
They obviously don't come right out and say it, but they state that:* Pornography should be outlawed* The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned* Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders* Telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shutteredThe real problem with the above, apart from the obvious, is that they label the existence of LGBTQIA+ people as "inherently pornographic". They say that pornography is “manifested today through the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology".They say that the fix "starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity ('SOGI'), diversity, equity and inclusion ('DEI'), gender, gender equality, gender awareness, gender sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists".They also state that "The president should direct agencies to rescind regulations interpreting sex discrimination provisions as prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status, sex characteristics, etc."
They want to "maintain a biblically based, social science-reinforced definition of marriage and family" which would remove protections for same-sex marriage.Leeja Miller helpfully points out that the above language does not simply include transgender individuals, it includes cis women as well. I'd argue that removing the DEI language also allows them to target anyone that isn't a white, cis, heterosexual, evangelical (or other approved flavor of Christianity) male. Some other points of note:* They want to eliminate the Department of Education* They want to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory* They want to bring back the practice of impounding funds

Daily Reflection - Thursday, 04/24/2025
Hours Slept: 5 hours
Meals:
Breakfast: leftover Beef Rolls
Lunch: chicken tenders and fries
Dinner: BCD soft tofu stew
Agenda:
Today, I woke up around 7:30AM to study a bit for my LS7C group phase of our midterm later today, and then I started to get ready. Around 9:00AM, I went to Kerckoffs to meet a couple of friends and new people until 12:00PM, when I walked to class with my friends. Once my 12:30PM class was over around 1:45PM, I walked back to Kerckoff's with my friend, where we got a matcha, and I hung out until 4:45PM with my other friends who were already there. I did my group phase midterm with my pod from LS7C around 6PM, and I left around 7:30PM to attend an event I had with my friends. I probably will have some soft tofu stew from BCD for dinner.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Reflection: I woke up kind of tired today as well, but I was feeling a lot better by lunchtime. I don't think today was a productive day, but I'm trying to accept the fact that there will be days when I can't achieve all the goals I initially wanted to. I will try my best to pick myself back up and make an effort to be a more productive person tomorrow. I had a lot of fun with my friends today, and I'm looking forward to having fun with them again tomorrow.
[10:45pm]

Inside MAGA’s game plan if Harris wins
When around 14,000 Philadelphians packed Temple University's Liacouras Center for 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' first campaign rally with her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the vice president made a point of describing herself as an "underdog" — a word she went on to use again in subsequent rallies. Harris' use of that word is quite strategic: For all the campaign's energy, she wants to make sure that her Democratic supporters don't become complacent.
Nonetheless, many of the polls released in early August have found Harris with small single-digit leads over GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Although Trump leads Harris by 2 percent in a CNBC poll released on August 8, Harris is ahead by 4 percent in a Morning Consult poll and 3 percent in polls from NPR/PBS/Marist and Survey USA. A Marquette University poll released on August 7 showed Harris with a 6 percent lead.
But in an article published by the conservative website The Bulwark on August 8, journalist A.B. Stoddard warns that if Harris wins in November, an "entire army of Republicans" is "ready to block certification of the election at the local level."
"Trump is no longer on track to win the election — which he has been for more than six straight months," Stoddard explains. "Instead, the momentum, money, voter registration, volunteering, grassroots organizing, polling, and online engagement all favor the Democrats, and it looks now like Trump could easily lose. But that won’t happen, because Trump doesn't lose.…. No need to worry about mayhem on January 6, 2025 when Congress meets in joint session; the election deniers plan to stop a result right away if it looks like Harris is winning."
Stoddard continues, "Their goal: Refuse to certify anywhere — even a county that Trump won — and prevent certification in that state, which prevents certification of the presidential election. A Harris victory could become a nightmare."
Stoddard notes that according to Rolling Stone, "pro-Trump election conspiracists" in key swing states like Arizona, Pennsylvania and Georgia are working as "county election officials" and plan to refuse to certify the election results if Harris wins.
Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias, publisher of Democracy Docket, told Rolling Stone, "I think we are going to see mass refusals to certify the election…. Everything we are seeing about this election is that the other side is more organized, more ruthless, and more prepared."
Stoddard warns that "there are more than enough such individuals in these key posts to bring us to a constitutional crisis."
"So Trump knows there are millions among us who believe him when he says Democrats can only win if they cheat and who believe dark forces are at work to thwart him again," Stoddard explains. "And Trump needs to be president again. He wants to get his criminal cases thrown out, and to stay out of jail. There is nothing he won't try."

Dean Obeidallah at The Dean's Report:
Flash forward to 2024. We are confronted with Donald Trump--an aspiring authoritarian--who like Hitler led a failed coup but then pivoted to use democracy to destroy the Republic. And like with Mein Kampf in the 1930’s, today we are faced with an equally sinister political manifesto called, “Project 2025.” It’s formal name, though, should be “Donald Trump’s Project 2025” because everything about it is Trump and MAGA. [...]
Project 2025 is not hiding the goal of turning their ideas into policy as stated in the opening of the manifesto: “It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on Day One of the next conservative Administration.”
To that end, Project 2025 has created a Presidential Administration Academy to train people in advance so they can be ready to impose the Project 2025 policy agenda once Trump wins. From there, Project 2025 lays out the 180-day playbook that articulates the policies that they will work to impose in the first six months of Trump’s Reich. Here are just a few of policy examples which are obviously taken right from Trump: 1. Making the President a king. The GOP Supreme Court obviously beat Project 2025 to this goal with their recent ruling that a President is literally above the law—as Trump requested of them. But in the case of Project 2025, the focus is not avoiding criminal prosecution, it’s about placing the entire federal bureaucracy, including independent agencies such as the Department of Justice, under the direct control of the President. This is 100% in line with Trump’s stated goals in this campaign. 2. Ending civil service protections to ensure only those loyal to Trump/MAGA are in control. This is literally reinstating a Trump-era executive order that makes federal employees fireable at-will, stripping tens of thousands of employees of civil service protections. In other words, Trump can fill his administration with people loyal to him above the Constitution. 3. Banning abortion and access to certain birth control. This is part of the Christian nationalist agenda of Project 2025 and can be achieved by Trump ordering his FDA to reverse approval of abortion drugs. But let’s not play games, their goal is a total national abortion ban where women are forced to carry a fetus to term against their will. If a GOP controlled Congress passed a national abortion ban, we know Trump will sign it given he has repeatedly told us “I’m the one that got rid of Roe v. Wade” and how “honored” he was to do so. 4. Rolling back protections for LGBTQ people: Project 2025 wants to end LGBTQ workplace discrimination protections so that bigots can more easily fire people from that community. In addition, they are calling for reinstating a transgender military ban as well stopping what it considers the “toxic normalization of transgenderism” across American society. As a reminder, in Trump’s first term, he “initiated a sustained, years-long effort to erase protections for LGBTQ people” as the ACLU detailed. And Trump has vowed to do exactly what Project 2025 is calling for by rolling back Biden protections for the LGBTQ community. 5. Climate change: The plan’s proposals include ending existing climate programs and increasing reliance on fossil fuels. Project 2025 also advocates disbanding various bureaucratic offices related to renewable energy and climate science. Trump--who has repeatedly called climate change a “hoax”--as president rolled back Obama era regulations to address the issue. And if elected, he has pledged to do exactly what Project 2025 laid out—even recently telling oil executives that point blank in exchange for donations. There are also detailed policies that line up perfectly with Trump’s other proposals from extreme anti-immigration proposals intended to keep America white to ending diversity and equity programs to shutting down the Department of Education so that GOP states can they implement education that is literally political and religious indoctrination to tax cuts for the wealthy. This is exactly what Trump has championed and is literally on his website as “Agenda 47.”
Dean Obeidallah wrote this gem on his Dean’s Report Substack column: Project 2025 is the modern-day version of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf, as the GOP wants to turn the USA into a fascist state like Hungary.
Trump can disavow Project 2025 all he wants, but in reality, he had a large imprint into it.

I have seen people on Pinterest say that you need to work hard to achieve your goals. That if you want to have a glow up in 2025 or any year for that matter, you need to follow a list that has zero ways of being achieved by ADHD women. Or even AuDHD women for that matter. Why is that? Because most of these are made by Neurotypical women, women who don't experience Autism or ADHD. Or maybe both.
Creating routines and sticking to these routines are hard for women on the spectrum. Regardless if it's just Autism or ADHD. My advice to you? Start with something low-effort. If you have terrible hygiene and want it to change, add an alarm or note in your calendar to make sure you shower once a week. Build that up to twice a week. Keep the twice a week shower to make sure you wash your hair. Depending on your hair, you may need to wash it more often.
If you don't want to shower everyday, there are plenty of other options to make sure you feel and smell clean!
Hygienic wipes or wet wipes for the smelly areas: private area and armpits. Use them on the areas that smell the most and the fastest. I would include my feet to this as well.
Wash your hair while hanging over the bath tub or sink when it's greasy. If you're experiencing sensory issues due to the various scents in soap, use soap that have no floral or heavy scent. This also goes for shampoo.
Apply deodorant everyday! It doesn't have to be the most expensive brand. Just try out a few cans or roll-on deodorants to find the one you like most. Again, if heavily scented deodorants are a no-go for you, go with one that doesn't have a heavy scent. Or none at all. I would also avoid the ones that claim they don't leave any sweat stains or prevent you from smelling throughout the day. These kind of deodorants actually block your sweat glands and can cause blockage or for them to get irritated.
Use a clean pair of socks everyday or every other day. That keeps your socks from smelling and your feet!
If you leave the house, apply deodorant 2 hours before leaving the house. It allows the deodorant to "settle" and can prevent smells from seeping through, throughout the day. Before you leave the house, apply your favorite perfume lightly! So don't spray it on like a million times. You want the people to smell you once you left the space, not before you walk into the room. When you like make-up and it's not a sensory hell, go with a look that doesn't irritate you throughout the day.
Me, for example, I can't wear foundation because it starts tickling me throughout the day and I have the urge to wipe it off. The most I would do is mascara and a tinted lipbalm or lip stain that lasts quite some time and hydrates too! I like to keep it soft and gentle.
When it comes to glowing up, I would love to have a glow up. I would love to disappear for 6 months and reappear a whole new person. However, with my AuDHD and lack of self-discipline, I know that routines are a pain! So I have told myself to add one thing to my routine throughout the year 2025 and see how it goes by the end of it.
That way, I introduce something new every month and if it all works out, I can add more. If not, I'll stick to the things I have added to my routine and don't add anything new, until I'm ready.
