Guilt - Conner Kent
Tumblr media
Conner Kent X GN!Reader
Summary: Conner blames himself for Hank's death and you're his only source of comfort during this time.
Word Count: 915
Requested ✅ (i accidentally deleted the question so sorry whoever requested this 😭)
In the aftermath of Hank's tragic death, the solemn atmosphere hung heavily over the whole team. Conner, wracked with guilt and grief, found himself caught in a web of self-blame. His abilities and strength seemed useless in the face of the loss he felt, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he could have prevented it.
As Conner grappled with the weight of responsibility, you became his refuge. You've always been the one to offer a kind word or a reassuring smile, and in these dark times, your empathy shone even brighter. you recognized the torment in Conner's eyes and understood the guilt he was feeling, having gone through something very similar before.
Late one evening, you find Conner standing alone on the rooftop, his gaze fixed on the city below. You approach him silently before gently speaking, "Conner, it wasn't your fault. I know you tried your best to save him."
Conner turns to face you, his eyes betraying a mixture of sadness and frustration. "I should've been faster, stronger. Hank wouldn't be gone if I had just been better."
You move closer, resting a hand on Conner's shoulder. "You're not alone in this, Conner. Just know that blaming yourself won't bring Hank back."
In the days that followed, you became Conner's confidant. Late-night conversations turned into shared silences, where your presence alone provided a comfort that words couldn't express.
As the team struggled to cope with the loss, conflicts arose within the team. Conner's guilt manifested in moments of frustration, and he distanced himself from the others. You, however, refused to let him isolate himself, making sure to always be there for him.
One day, after a particularly heated argument with Dick, Conner found himself at a breaking point. You went to look for him, finding him in the training room, fists clenched, and jaw tight. Without saying a word, you approached and wrapped your arms around Conner in a comforting embrace. He didn't hug you back but he didn't push you away either.
After a couple moments, you pull away, looking up at him. "I know you're hurting, Conner," you say softly, "but shutting everyone out won't make the pain go away. Hank's death wasn't your fault and it never will be. You tried your best to save him."
Conner's gaze remains distant, his eyes reflecting the storm of emotions within. He sighs heavily, shoulders slumped with the weight of guilt he's unfairly carrying. "But it wasn't enough. I could've saved him if only I was faster. So, yes, it is my fault, Y/N," he finally spoke, his voice strained.
You put a hand on his arm, feeling the tension in his muscles. "Conner, blaming yourself won't bring Hank back. You did everything you could in that moment. Jason is the one responsible for what happened, not you."
Conner's jaw clenches as he struggles with all the different emotions he's experiencing. "I just can't shake this feeling, Y/N. Every time I close my eyes, I see it happening again. I should've-"
You cut him off, "Conner, stop. Blaming yourself won't change the past. I'm here for you and pushing me away isn't going to change anything." You squeeze his hand gently, trying your best to comfort him, but unsure how.
He shook his head, struggling to accept your words. "I should've saved him, Y/N. I'm supposed to be a hero, and I failed. I couldn't stop his death."
You meet Conner's gaze, unwavering. "Conner, being a hero doesn't mean you can control every outcome. There'll always be someone you can't save, no matter how hard you try to prevent that."
Conner's eyes bore into yours, grappling with his internal turmoil. "But I could've done more, Y/N. I can't just accept that I couldn't save him."
You maintain your steadfast gaze. "Conner, accepting the reality doesn't mean giving up. It means finding a way to honor Hank's memory and move forward. Blaming yourself won't do his memory any justice."
He takes a deep breath, a mix of frustration and resignation in his expression. "I just don't know how to let go of all of this guilt."
You place a gentle hand on Conner's cheek, meeting his troubled gaze with unwavering support. "Letting go doesn't mean forgetting, Conner. It means accepting that you did everything you could. Hank wouldn't want you to carry this burden."
Conner's eyes soften as he searches your face for reassurance. "I don't want to lose you too, Y/N."
You smile, a mix of love and understanding. "You won't. I'm here for you, Conner, no matter what happens. We'll face it together."
Conner's shoulders slowly relaxed as he absorbed your words. The weight on his chest didn't lift entirely, but your unwavering support provided a momentary respite from the storm inside him.
"I don't know what I'd do without you, Y/N," he admitted, a hint of vulnerability in his voice. You brushed your thumb gently across his cheek. "You're not alone, Conner. We'll find a way through this together."
As the days unfolded, your unwavering support began to chip away at Conner's guilt, creating small pockets of space where he could breathe without feeling the crushing weight of responsibility.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, Conner turns to you with a soft smile. "Thank you, Y/N. For everything. I don't think I would've made it out without you being there for me."

Does the Batmobile ever get ticketed or does the GCPD just ignore it
Bruce: *puts a box on the table*
Bruce: Gather around, everyone. It's time for our monthly ticket review.
Bruce: First up, Steph. Can you explain what happened last Friday?
[earlier]
Steph: *looking for parking in a full lot*
Steph: Screw it, I'm going around back.
Steph: *parks in front of a fire exit*
[present]
Steph: I just needed to use the bathroom.
Bruce: And in those three minutes, the Joker released a giant water balloon forcing everyone to evacuate through one less exit.
Steph: It said "fire exit." That technically wasn't a fire.
Bruce: Well, the penalty is $100 plus the towing cost. I can pay it off but you have to help Alfred in the kitchen for a month.
Steph: Yeah, that's fair.
Bruce: Next up... Cass and Barbara? Color me surprised.
Barbara: Oh yeah, I had to remotely pilot the Batmobile the other day because Cass needed a getaway.
Bruce: Then why am I being charged $250?
[earlier]
Cass: *fighting a gang*
Barbara: Orphan, ETA thirty seconds. Prepare for extraction.
Cass: *knocks out the last henchman and runs to the car*
Comm. Gordon: *writing a ticket*
Cass: ?
Comm. Gordon: You're in a disabled parking spot without a permit.
[present]
Barbara: Well I am disabled.
Bruce: Understandable. I'll let it slide since it's the first time. Just file the paperwork for a permit.
Bruce: Dick, you went thirty-five over the speed limit when you weren't pursuing a suspect. Explain.
[earlier]
Wally: Race you to Keystone?
Dick: *revs the engine*
[present]
Bruce: You're better than this. I'm disappointed. Next up: Tim. Driving without a license plate. What happened there?
[earlier]
Tim: I wasn't supposed to take the Batmobile since Bruce benched me for my wrist, but my other ride is in the shop.
Kon: What about cameras? Can't your dad tap into the city's surveillance system?
Bart: Traffic cameras read license plates, so if we take them off, no one will recognize us.
Kon: Now that's an idea.
[present]
Tim: That's on me. I shouldn't have listened to them.
Bruce: Put them back on, plus you're benched for another week. Damian, on to you.
Damian: What on Earth could I have done? I followed the speed limit, parked in the correct spots, and never so much as changed lanes on an empty road without signalling.
[earlier]
Damian, a middle schooler: *driving*
[present]
Damian: Tt.
Bruce: Don't do it again. Duke...
Duke: *cringes and remembers what he did*
[earlier]
Duke: *hooks the Batmobile to a freezer trailer*
Duke: *starts driving around with a megaphone*
Duke: Ice cream! Get your ice cream!
[present]
Bruce: Fantastic job. No complaints.
Jason, muttering: Teacher's pet.
Bruce: And finally, Jason.
Bruce: *empties the rest of the box*

Talking about DC to people who only have minimum knowledge is so much fun. Like
"yeah Connor- no, that's Conner with an e, I mean Connor with an o-"
"So the original Teen Titans- no, not Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire- yeah, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Wonder Gi- what do you mean you don't know who Wonder Girl is??"
"And then Roy- no, not that Roy- yes technically they're the same guy but they're so far removed they're basically separate characters"
"Green Arrow and Speedy- no, not that Green Arrow, no not that Speedy either- no the first Speedy is older than the second Green Arrow-"
"...yes, there are more heroes in Gotham than just Batman, Robin, and Batgirl."

Like You - Conner Kent
Tumblr media
Conner Kent X Fem!Reader
Summary: You want to become a hero like Conner but Conner doesn't approve and an argument sparks.
Word Count: 1,306
The sun dips below the city skyline, casting long shadows in your bedroom. You can't help but think about how much you want to become a hero, like your boyfriend, Conner. You tried to bring it up with him once but he immediately shut you down, not wanting to continue the conversation any further. Since then, you haven't tried to bring it up again. Until now.
As you sit on the edge of the bed, you wait anxiously for Conner to come into the room. Conner opens the door and walks in, looking tired after a long day, evident by the dark circles under his eyes. "Look, Conner, I get this might not be the best time but we need to talk about something," you say, not wanting to put this conversation off for any longer.
Conner glances at you with a mixture of exhaustion and concern. "Can't it wait? I've had a rough day and I'm not in the mood for this," he replies, starting to head towards the bathroom. You stand up, determined to address what's been bothering you for so long. "No, Conner, it can't wait. This is important to me and all I want is for you to just hear me out."
Conner stops in his tracks, turning to face you with a sigh. "Fine. Just tell me what it is so we can get it over with," he responds.
Taking a deep breath, you meet Conner's gaze. "I know what you said last time but I still haven't changed my mind. I want to be a hero, like you. But I need your support with this because I can't do it alone."
Conner's expression tightens with a mix of frustration and worry. "Y/N, we've been through this before. I can't stand the thought of you getting hurt out there. It's not as glamorous as it seems, trust me," he says, his voice tinged with slight irritation.
"And I get where you're coming from but this is something that I want to do. I want to make a difference, just like you do," you state, your determination unwavering.
Conner runs a hand through his tousled hair, his exhaustion evident. "Have you even thought about the risks or the constant danger? You have to be more naive than I thought if you think I'm going to let you go out and risk your life just like that!" he exclaims.
You cross your arms, frustration building. "Okay, so what if I'm naive? At least I know what I want and I won't stop until I get it," you pause for a second but continue, "Conner, I'm willing to learn, to train. I just need you to believe in me."
"I said no, Y/N. This conversation ends here. I don't want to hear any more of your bullshit," he responds firmly, his tone leaving no room for any nonsense.
The room falls silent as Conner's words hang in the air. The tension between you is palpable as you say, "You know what? I don't care. I don't need your permission and you can't stop me."
Conner's jaw clenches, and his eyes narrow with frustration. "You're being reckless, Y/N. This isn't a game," he retorts, his voice rising. "I've seen the worst of it, and I won't let you just throw yourself into this lifestyle. It's dangerous, more than you can handle."
Even with Conner's words, you refuse to back down. "I can handle myself. I'm not as weak as you think." It's true though. Conner acts like you're this little 'damsel in distress' who can't fight her own fights. It's nice that he's trying to protect you but sometimes it's really unnecessary.
Conner's frustration boils over, and he raises his voice, "Y/N, you're not listening! This isn't about underestimating you; it's about knowing the reality of what it means to be a hero. It's not just about strength. It's about sacrifice, not that you would know. Y/N, if I say no, it means no. You're not doing it - for your own good."
You continue to stand your ground, a fire in your eyes. "I'm not going to live my life based on your fears. If I want to become a hero, I'm going to do it, Conner. The only reason I talked to you about this is so I could get some support or understanding from you but that's obviously not happening so I'm leaving," you say and then walk out of the room, frustration and determination fueling your steps. Conner watches you go, torn between worry and stubbornness.
The front door slams behind you, signalling to Conner that you've seriously left to god knows where. Conner stands alone in the room, frustration etched on his face. He runs a hand through his hair, the echo of the slamming door resonating in the silence.
As you make your way through the city streets, the cool night air does little to calm your nerves. The conversation with Conner replays in your mind, making you regret walking out on him. You know you shouldn't have left mid-argument but you couldn't keep going. You weren't going to change Conner's mind so what's the point?
Meanwhile, Conner paces the room, his mind wrestling with the conflict. He knows the dangers of the hero's life all too well, and the thought of you willingly stepping into that kind of danger gnaws at him. Despite the anger, there's a genuine concern for you.
A couple of hours later, Conner's worry intensifies as he realizes you haven't returned. He grabs his phone and dials your number, his frustration is evident in the way he anxiously taps his foot while waiting for you to answer. The phone rings in the quiet room as Conner anxiously waits for your response. Each passing second feels like an eternity, and he can't shake the worry that has settled in his chest.
After several unanswered calls, a wave of concern washes over him. Why aren't you answering? Is it the argument? Was he too harsh? Are you safe? Are you hurt?
On the other side of the city, you lie unconscious in a dark alley, a result of an unexpected encounter with a low-level villain whose name you don't know.
Conner's worry turns to panic as the realization hits him that something might have happened to you. Abandoning his frustration, he quickly puts on his jacket and dashes out of the apartment, determined to find you.
Back in the alley, you start to regain consciousness, feeling a dull ache in your head. As you open your eyes, the dimly lit surroundings come into focus, and you remember the encounter with the villain. You attempt to sit up but wince in pain.
Conner speeds through the city, his concern fueling his speed. He scans the streets, listening for any signs of distress. Finally, he hears a faint groan and rushes towards the source. Finding you in the alley, Conner's relief mixes with frustration. He kneels down beside you, gently checking for injuries. "Y/N, what were you thinking? I told you it's not safe out here," he scolds, his protective instincts taking over.
With a mixture of pain and frustration evident in your voice, you say, "I can take care of myself, Conner. I don't need you to—" Conner cuts you off, his tone stern. "Enough of this. We'll talk about it later. Right now, let's get you home and make sure you're okay." He carefully lifts you in his arms, carrying you back to the apartment.
As he sets you down gently on the couch, Conner can't help but let out a frustrated sigh. "I can't believe you pulled something like this. We'll discuss everything when you're feeling better, but for now, rest and let me take care of you."

Something happens and now the batkids'partner needs to babysit Damian Wayne - idk maybe Ras is in town, or the babybat is injured, whatever the motive - how Wally, Roy and Kon/Bernard take care of the situation? (This can be made separately or all of them together, this will be your choice)
(I said Kon or Bernard because this can be your choice too, but also both if you want, Tim Drake has two hands anyway)
Also I love your blog 💖💖💖💖💖
Roy: Soup's up! Where's Damian?
Wally: Um... about that.
Roy: What's it this time, assassins?
Wally: Not exactly. Long story short, he wanted to see dinosaurs so I took him to the Jurassic period but I sorta dropped him on our way back.
Roy: You WHAT?!?
Kon: Hey guys, what's going on?
Roy: Wally lost Damian in the timestream.
Bernard: That's a new one.
Kon: Do you remember where you dropped him?
Wally: Somewhere between the Cretaceous Period and Mesopotamia.
Izzy: You do realize that's a long time, right?
Roy: Who are you and when did you get here?
Izzy: Isabela Ortiz. I've been here the past ten minutes.
Everyone: ...
Izzy: I'm Duke's girlfriend, and unlike most of you I'm canon.
Roy: Whatever, can you help us?
Izzy: Nope, I just left my charger. See ya!
Kon: We're dead.
Bernard, sighing: I'll get the kiddie pool and Lazarus hose.
[meanwhile]
Damian, petting a wooly mammoth: I shall name you Father for your size. Except you're not as hairy.
