Yeah reverse robins is cool and all but have you ever considered reverse batfam? And no, I'm not just talking about "bring in Duke and the girls!" (Even tho that's a valid criticism)

No, I mean all of them. Give me a Damian who grew up in the leauge with no clear mother or father, but who is somehow connected to Ra's Al Ghul, who grows up obscenely wealthy but with no one to actually take care of him, so when he turns 18 he takes his birthright worth of money and runs away to an abandoned manor in a run down city, corrupt with crime.

Give me a Damian who decides that he will do good with what skills he's been forced to learn and decides to clean up Gotham however he can. But he can't do it alone. And frankly, he's tired of being alone. So he hires a college student desperate for money to help him with the upkeep of the old manor.

Give me a Mia Mizoguchi with a passion for cartography, about to finish her masters, but she needs money bad, so when the new, young owner of the giant manor hires her to help him clean it up, she figures why not.

Give me Maps and Damian both figuring out how to be around each other while Damian figures out how to be a person, and when she finds out about his night endevors, he can only be grateful when she only asks how she can help.

Give me the two, working together and becoming each other's emergency contact and number 1 confidant for years as the streets of Gotham start to become cleaner.

And then give me a Damian, attending a gala in the tacky mansion only a mile down from his manor, suffocating in his too-tight tie that Maps said suited his complexion, suddenly finding himself standing in a spray of bullets as the hosts of the party are suddenly killed by mobsters that he failed to take down

And give me a Damian, crouching down by a shaking Tim Drake, promising him that he will keep the boy by his side no matter what, and seeing himself in the boy covered in blood standing alone with no one to care for him.

And thus, the Bat and the Sparrow are born

Damian’s is the first but the 2nd oldest;

I like to believe that when Bruce had taken in Damian he actually had no idea if he was ever his and Talias kid. He feels too awkward to ask for a DNA test now.

He wears a shit ton of insanely high quality traditional clothing.

Damian is nightwing but he doesn’t fight in a spandex but rather outfits closer to league uniform (he switched sides not styles) also uses a samurai no escrima sticks.

y’know how Bruce and dick fight and it ends with getting kicked out in og!universe leading to dick leading the titans and becoming nightwing; that happens again but instead of Bruce kicking Damian back he blurts out something implying he’d be better off if Damian returned to the league. And Damian (insanely hurt be this) does. He decides he’ll become nightwing after seeing superman for the first time in a year or two.

Jon is his only friend- he travels between metropolis and his and Dami’s appartment in blud.

he got angry at Tim being Robin because he was Bruce’s perfect child (that Bruce chose instead of being forced upon) and took the one connection with Bruce he thought was unique to them

also stays away from the rest of the hero community as much as possible.

Stephanie brown is the 2nd to show up but she’s younger than Damian (and a few months younger than Tim)

She’s gravitating and pulling the same shit on her dad and stays on the outside of Bruce’s duo but she figures out their identities pretty quickly. This kinda shuts them up into them listening to her abt her dad. (I’m meshing together multiple DC timelines cus I’m just as confused a stage writers so I’ve given up)

her dad is gonna be the mixture of the one comic where he get his hands on the lazauraus stone that he used to torture Steph with if she got puzzles and detective clues wrong and the ones where he tries to keep Steph and her mom isolated and forces Steph to drop out which leads her to just being available whenever. Since she doesn’t want to help she’ll just be in the cave whenever with new info for missions which kinda freaks Bruce out.

she gets close to Damian and they’re relationship is the exact same as their comic counterparts as I am a firm believer that Stephanie’s EQ is higher than Damian’s.

Bruce ends up adopting her after black mask kills her brown in jail. This happens after Duke comes along btw. (He kills a blond(e) in every universe) (Her mom goes into a psych ward in another city)

btw she becomes oracle same way but also adding in a medical element aswell

the JL has no idea who she is but she def digitally babysits dukes and Tim team, Damian and Jon’s antics, Jason’s insane ideas and dick (like literally babysits him in the tower)

Duke Thomas the oldest comes in next

he gets fostered by Bruce for the same reason again

you see Duke had the whole ‘we are Robin’ thing going on in og!world; he’s a natural leader, who brings outcasts or those who are being overshadowed despite their efforts together to protect unreached communities. What I’m getting at is that he’s the perfect TITANS founder and leader candidate; he also has the whole thing about how the JL respect him a shit ton

Some Reverse!BatFamily Headcannons

(I have a reverse!BatFamily AU. Some things never change but a lot of things do so this is just for fun)

Damian is a vegan and has been since he was quite young due to his love of animals and that he once choked on a chicken bone.

Jason reads fanfiction of Pride and Prejudice and is a author of a viral ongoing fic that is a crossover of all of Jane Austen's works but set in a post apocalyptic world.

Dick has hypoglycaemia and is prone to fainting.

Cassandra can mimic the Kardashian's voices with startling accuracy and is a lover of most reality Tv.

Stephanie is not squeamish at all.

Bruce got motion sickness as soon as he got the kids.

Duke learned to knit and crochet. But he hates it because he's the designated art and crafts kid in the house and so people just ask him to do shit for them for free.

Tim is still the shortest despite being the second oldest.

Damian went to college and got a Bachelors degree in environmentalism and a studied law at postgrad. He's a famous environmentalist lawyer. Family nicknames him Marshall to Damain's annonyence.

Dick wants to model for reasons (Kory) but Bruce won't let him unless he got a Olympic medal. Dick got one and Bruce has moved the goalpost to five Olympic gold medals. Dick has three.

Jason and Bruce are very similar in their interests and how they rebelled. It annoys them to no end and pleases Alfred.

Stephanie wants to become a gynaecologist when she's older and volunteers at the Leslie's clinic during the summer.

TIm is a slacker and gets the worst grades. He still hasn't graduated yet.

Bruce: How's your degree going

Tim: Well, you see, I'm taking engineering classes right now. I'm going to finish my actual degree but...

Cassandra accidentally scares all the batfamily due to her quietness.

Bruce denies that he snores despite the batkids having evidence. He says that they're "fabricating evidence" and that "even if it was true" it's not "permissible in court" since it was obtain through "illegal means".

Alfred still treats Bruce like a child.

Honestly for a Reverse Robin AU I think Duke Thomas is the perfect 1st "Robin" with his role in the We Are Robin movement naturally leading into Nightwing's Role of after working with Batman going to become a major leader of the Next Generation of superheroes. But this causes a problem of Stephanie being the perfect Jason Todd counterpart. Which Damian in a pickle of what to do with him. The only thing I can come up with is to say "Um ackshually while Duke takes the Nightwing role there is no chance in hell of Damian becoming the second Signal what with his ego." We all know Damian only accepted being the 5th Robin cause at that point it was well accepted that Robin was Batman's Sidekick but that still leaves the issue of what to do with Damian post his Robin career

Five times Jason said I love you and the first time someone said it back

(Falling in Reverse Au)

Part 1

     For Jason saying I love you never came easy. After all, it wasn't like he grew up in a loving home. The first time He said I love you he had no idea what the words even were. 

One

     Jason was sitting on the floor studying an old book. He had found it in an alley dumpster and was obsessed. Sure the pages bent and the cover was torn and it smelled like cat food, but books were a rare found and Jason loved them.

     "Don't know why he bothers" Willis snorted watching T.V. "Not like that little brat can read it"

     Jason had in fact started reading at the age of three. Learning important phrases such as "Keep out", "Surveillance Area" and probably most important "Dangerous Dog"

     The boy chose to ignore his father's criticism and continued to read. 

     "I love you" Marry smiled up at her dad.      "I love you too" Her dad smiled twirling her around like a princess.

     "I love you" he read the words quietly to himself. It felt strange on the tip of his tongue and while he didn't quite understand them it did seem to make the dad in to book happy.

     He looked up over at Willis who was still mindlessly staring into the TV. Quietly Jason closed the book and stood up. Slowly he made his way over to Willis. The nauseating smell of beer growing stronger stronger with each step.

     "Dad..." Jason could practically feel his heart jump out of his chest as the man turned his head towards him, his face unreadable.

     "Hum?" Willis grunted narrowing his gaze down at Jason.

     "I-I love you," Jason said barely managing to get the words out. He stood there quietly waiting for Willis' response. The older man just grunted before turning back to the TV. 

     Jason didn't understand the tight feeling in his throat or why he wanted to hide. All he knew was he had said the words in the book but they didn't work.

     As bad as that was the next time Jason said I love you was even worse.

Two

      Jason had just gotten home from the store carrying two packs of ramen and a water bottle, knowing it would have to last them for the next five days. It had been a tough week. There had been little for Jason to sell and nothing worth stealing. He was forced to take his best book and pawn it for a measly one dollar and fifty cents.

     The mere memory made Jason's stomach turn but he knew it had to be done. Rule number one of the streets: don't get attached to anything.

     "Mom I'm home!" He called out into the seemingly empty house. He tossed the small bag of food counter "Mom?" He peered around the bathroom door. The sight his eyes landed on made his blood run cold.

     Catherine was lying on the ground twitching, a dark ring of vomit stained her mouth.

     It wasn't the first time Jason had found her like this. That didn't make the situation any less scary. Jason acted on pure instinct rushing to her side and turning her head so she wouldn't choke. He sat with her for hours monitoring her condition. Once the seizures finally stopped he leaned her up against the wall and used a wet washcloth to clean her face. 

     Once he had finished he sat down in front of her and grabbed her hand squeezing it tightly.

     "I love you" it was the first time he had meant it. His throat felt raw as if he were choking on barbed wire. He didn't really care though because the loud harsh pounding of his heart had yet to slow. He held on to his mother as though she might vanish.

     "..." She just stared back at him emotionless as though she were empty. Jason sat by her side all night making sure she was okay.

     Not long after that Catherine overdosed never acknowledging the words Jason said. To the day he often wonders whether or not she had heard him.

     The next "I love you" was by complete accident.

Three

     Damian and Jason had just gotten done with practice

     "Good work T-Jason" Damian corrected himself. Damian had made a promise to himself that he wouldn't call his siblings by their last names. Something he had started because of Tim's swath.

     "Thanks," Jason said grinning it wasn't very often that Damian gave praise but he seemed to be softening up around Jason.

     "I've got to head back to Buldhaven I've got an art show tonight" Damian waved walking to the door.

     "Kay, Bye love ya," Jason said before he could think. Damian stiffened up as he stood in the doorway.

     Jason watched in disappointment believing that once again he had been rejected. While in truth he had shocked Damian because Damian did love his younger broth but couldn't bring himself to say the words. Tim's death was still fresh and the idea of loving someone else just to lose them was more than he could bear.

     So Damian left without acknowledging Jason. But the words stuck around in his head.

Four

     Jason's first crush was a girl in his theater club.

      He had joined the club due to his love of literature often helping to make sure the plays stay true to their source material. That is how he got the job of prop maker.

     While working on sets he would listen to the rehearsals. One girl, in particular, caught his ear. Jess Waived, the girl with the voice of an angel. She and Jason became quick friends due to their love of Shakespeare and on closing night after the last show, Jason told her how he felt about her.

     "I love you," He said handing her a flower.

     "Oh..." She said rubbing the back of her neck "Jason you're a great guy I just don't feel the same..." Despite this, the two did stay friends but Jason decided he was never going to tell anyone I love you again.

Five

     Jason laid on the couch snuggled up in a pile of blankets. It had been raining a lot this week and he had gotten a cold from going on patrol.

     He had expected Bruce to be telling him "I told you so" but Bruce had been very nice about the whole thing.

     "How are you feeling lad?" Bruce asked peeking through the doorway.

     "Better" Jason coughed.

     "Tell you what how about I go get a book and read to you" Bruce offered with a warm smile.

     "Don't you have work today?" Jason asked tilting his head.

     "I took the day off," Bruce told him "I wanted to make sure you were okay"

     "Oh," Jason said as he felt his cheeks start to burn.

     "So what about that book?" Bruce offered.

     "Great expectation" Jason repelled.

     "Good choice, I'll be right back," Bryce said before going to the library.

     "I love you," Jason said once he was sure Bruce was out of earshot.

This would mean Tim stays at the 3rd Robin and that is both hilarious and can create such a compelling narrative.

He and Steph having a shared history... Did they date prior to her death? How close were they?

It would make Tim being Robin so much more personal. It being to preserve the legacy of someone he cared for so deeply. He wouldn't let Batman's grief destroy it, he knows what it meant to her. But would he dare say it out loud? Would he be capable of admitting that it's not just for the greater good? That would mean accepting she is gone, nothing more than a legacy.

And Steph... Did she know Tim knew about her being Robin? Maybe she did maybe she didn't. All she knew was that she died and instead of grieving her, someone she cared for took her place. Had it all been a ruse? Bidding his time until the moment to live out his hero boy fantasies presented itself?

How complicated the reveal would be.

Tim would be overjoyed at her being alive. Of course he would be. But she had become the very sort of murderer he had to fight tooth and nail to prevent Batman from becoming-- all to preserve a legacy he thought she wanted.

Perhaps, while fleeing instead of fighting, he would try and make her understand it was for her. That he was just trying to protect what she had been fighting for.

'I never asked you to,' Steph would say. She would mean more than just that. She never asked to be his muse, she was sick of being a pawn not a person. A motivation, not a person. Not a dead loved one. A made up end to justify his means, that's how he viewed her.

But she was a person. One who had not been truly avenged, despite how much people like Tim claimed to have cared for her.

Titans tower was personal. It was about crushing any lies Tim was telling himself about her wants being his motivation. No, she would show him what she wanted.

She wanted others to avenge the child soldier who died at the hands of a monster that didn't deserve to live. She didn't want to have to do it herself. She wanted Batman to do it--for Tim to help.

If Tim really cared about her, he would take off the uniform and help her confront Batman. He would help set up getting Batman to choose to kill the Joker, and do it himself if Batman refused. If Tim was just doing things for her he could do that, it would be all she'd ever ask of him.

But it would not be something he could give.

In part he couldn't accept that the girl he once knew would want that. He feared her regretting something she could never take back.

Deep down he knew it didn't matter. He couldn't do it either way. Even if he couldn't accept it, he knew even if she truly meant it, he couldn't. He was a hero in his own right, one crafted specifically to stop Bruce from becoming a murderer. He knew the world would never recover. And the world meant more than him.

He would hold onto the idea that Steph was just understandably traumatised. It was just a trauma response. He could fix things. He brought Bruce back from his spiral, and sure Steph was further along but he could fix it. And he would still love her every step of the way as he did.

And Steph? Steph would hear the heroic delusion in Tim's voice as says, "You don't really want that. You're not a killer, Steph. You're better than him." The confidence, the naivety. Something she might have once thought.

Tim would learn the hard way, just like she did. If she lets him live long enough to.

(And maybe she wouldn't be able to kill the naive part of herself that truly believed he loved her. The part that was singing at his devotion to what he thought she wanted--the part that knew deep down that if you asked her before she died she would say she did want this. That he did everything she ever could have and would have asked, if she had known to.

But she wasn't that person anymore, so she wasn't going to think about it too hard. She knew better. Even if he did have any 'feelings', which she doubted, they were for the idea of her. The fantasy of a dead girl. Not the woman who came back.)

I love the Reverse Robins au but everyone always forgets Steph, because if you go with the whole “second Robin dies thing” Steph as Red Hood would be sick as fuck. I’m begging someone to draw some Steph Hood.

Reverse Robins (an AU where they are miraculously functional), but Baby Dick asks a sleep-deprived Bruce for an elephant

First he asks Damian, and Damian, who also loves animals, doesn't say no-

"They're hard to take care of"

"I used to take care of Zitka! I know how to take care of an elephant!"

"Only if father says yes"

And Dick proceeds to ask Bruce for an elephant, when Bruce can barely distinguish his newspaper from his toast, with the saddest little voice an 8-year-old can muster.

Bruce has no idea why the baby of the family is sad, but he agrees to whatever he asks as long as the child doesn't have that voice again.

After sleeping for 15 hours because a sedative was put in his coffee, Bruce wakes up to find an elephant in his house, with Damian and Dick taking care of it.

Before he can refute, Dick makes him listen to the recording of him agreeing to them having an elephant.

Bruce learned two things: not to agree to any of his children's requests when he is sleepy, and that Dick learns faster than he would like.

People that are into the reverse Robins AU don't seem to realize the power they are giving to Dick Grayson. Without even talking about how protective of Dick the batfam at large is already, you are making Bruce's baby the baby of the family. Bruce already had multiple children, but never one this young, and this is his youngest baby, and he is so great, a ball of light and joy that jumps from chandeliers.

Goddesses, that kid is being spoiled. He probably fakes being hurt or sad because he knows his dad will immediately bend backward for him.
