I’m from the age group that keeps their legal/ real name off the internet but the struggle is real
Being transneutral, I don’t really get to use my chosen names without explaining about them
Like, as both a transneutral/ trans-agender/ agender-genderqueer person and an aroace person I literally *have* to out myself if I want to get gendered/ addressed/ recognised correctly
But that urge to hear/ read my chosen names conflicts with my urge to stay anonymous/ not share too many identifiers on the internet
Which is why my blog description on several blogs is kinda vague, although it is relatively easy to cross-reference my tumblr URLs and figure out the blogs are run by the same person
But so far neither of my chosen names is in any way connected to my legal documents/ my official identity
So I suppose it’s fine if I occasionally mention that my chosen name’s Léonid Yanis
But I probably will go back to some internet-only pseud once I get the legal paperwork into motion

Okay so I just watched a video of a boy who once identified as trans still got bottom surgery after he realized he was cis and people were so fucking rude? Like just because this cis dude has a vagina people were calling him transphobic and wishing death upon him.
So this is a reminder that when we as a community advocate for bodily autonomy and gender surgeries that means everyone regardless of gender can do whatever they want with their bodies.
If someone who is cisgender wants top/bottom surgery THEY CAN GET IT. If someone wants facial plastic surgeries that we usually find creepy like buccal fat removal or eye lifts THEY CAN GET IT. And here’s the really controversial one but if someone wants to do things that harm their body like hard drugs or diy mods THEY CAN DO IT!
Because body autonomy isn’t just “I can get bottom surgery to pass” or “I can get an abortion” it’s also all the wild stuff that makes us uncomfortable and that’s okay.

for whoever needs to hear this:
starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.
there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.
you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.
stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.
stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.
you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

Shoutout to the folks who wish they could be feminine the way men are feminine, and shoutout to the folks who wish they could be masculine the way women are masculine.

i think it's insane that nonbinary people went "hey i'm trans, i'm just not transitioning to one of the two very specific ideas of gender you have in your head" and so many cishet people and transmeds went "ah so you're not trans, you're just quirky." like hello? i literally started the sentence with "i'm trans" are you okay? people can transition in more than just one of two extremely specific ways, carol.

I want to go to a gay bar
However I do not want to go to a gay bar because I do not, nor will I ever, drink alcohol. I do not particularly want to be around drunks.
So instead of a gay bar, I propose a Queer Cat Cafe.
Non allergenic cats ofc
There's a section of the cafe where the cats can't go if you don't want cats near you. That section is the library.
There are lil pride flags everywhere, even the obscure ones.
They sell pride pins for £1.50ish each at the counter.
There are LED lights.
It's autism friendly, lights can be toned down if needed and everything is neatly spaced out
You can have a sticker to write your pronouns on
Mostly queer artists/songs played
feel free to add on

theres actually no rules to transitioning and youre allowed to want contradictory things for your transition. it's fine if you only want some of the changes that come with hrt and take preventative measures for the rest (like wanting bottom growth but not body hair or vice versa). you can want to have vagina AND a dick. you can be a woman and want top surgery, or wear a packer. you can be a man and want to have a pussy. you can change your transition goals one or a million times or not have any goals at all and just take things as they come or as they feel right.
there are no rules.

You can change your name, it doesn't matter how often you change it, it doesn't matter however many names you go by, if you want to, you can change it, you could change it every week, every month, every year, it doesn't matter, you can change your name, don't feel bad about it

When people say "I don't want my child to be exposed to LGBTQ+ media because it will turn them gay" they actually mean "I don't want my child to be exposed to LGBTQ+ media because it might help them realize that they're gay".
